The first panel on the third page is a wide shot of Philip being dragged down under the water, his arm straight up desperately trying to grab something. The water cascades around him, pushing him down even more. The second panel is a closeup of Caleb’s eyes, which are glaring with anger. The third panel is a below view of Philip being dragged down, with Caleb’s hand still tightly grasped around his foot. The fourth panel is a closeup of Philip’s eyes, which are staring in fear. The fifth panel is from Philip’s POV, where Caleb is seen still pulling him down by his ankle, glaring at him. Other grimwalkers are beside him, hands reaching up towards Philip to also help drag him down.

The first panel on the fourth and last page is of Philip being dragged down, a fearful and almost angry expression on his face. He screams, “Caleb! Let-” but does not finish his sentence. The second panel is of Caleb still glaring at him, not saying a word. The third panel is Philip looking at his brother with an unreadable expression on his face, as though he just realized something. So there's the well known scars AU in tcf right? Like where Krs!Cale gets his old scars and chaos ensues.

But what if, instead of any random day, Cale gets back his scars after using Instant? Like Mila has healed his scars completely, the ones he got after using Instant, but his old scars are somehow back on his body.

Like when he gets to meet with og!cale, some soul merging stuff happens and rok soo's scars are back on krs!cale's body.

And now imagine, Mila just doubting her ability because Cale's scars didn't heal (they actually did). And Cale just waking up and blankly staring at his body now 'ugly' with the scars he always hated.

And his family seeing him littered with so many wounds that he never had?? (Did they not even notice such a thing?)

And then his kids see him, especially Raon who first hand experienced it, and the young dragon just breaks down sobbing in his human's arms, blaming himself for the pain he had let his human go through.

Choi Han stands shocked, the image of Kim Rok Soo of his memories and the Cale in front of him overlapping, both looking too full of pain.

Maybe they don't comment on it due to the final battle, or maybe they feel like they shouldn't comment on it.

But then after the war, they finally notice how Cale has changed. How he furrows his brows whenever he looks at his scars, as if in disgust, and how he avoids looking at any and all mirrors, afraid to see himself. How he tries to slid his arms further into the long sleeves of his clothes, and how hard he tries to act nonchalant as if nothing is wrong.

And maybe he heard it once, the comments about his scars, but instead of noticing their worried and sorrowful tones he only saw mockery and laughter in it. He knew from experience to never expect from people, but sometimes, it hurt. And from then, he refused to go to any parties whatsoever, even at the cost of golden plaques.

And it got to a point that regular people, citizens of Roan noticed it too, how badly the war had affected their beloved young master. And how badly scarred both his body and mind were. But what could they do, expect send wishes of love and gratitude, in a hope that the person who saved them all may be saved too.

And now to his family. They try to bring out the redhead, taking him to small walks and picnics, and looking at him with so much love that Cale cannot help but feel a sting in his chest, wanting to stay in that warmth forever.

Lock and the wolf children come to him, shouting about how cool he looked in all those scars, how he looked so much like a 'warrior'. But Cale sees their eyes, eyes that seem so genuine and full of admiration, eyes that hold no mockery or any hint of evil. And for the next few hours, their shouts echo in his ears, a faint blush forming on his face.

Raon, On and Hong bring him flowers and decorate his hair with it, and Cale finally smiles seeing himself in the mirror. He suddenly recalls how in his past, his hyungs did the same. How they only worried for him. And once, when Team Leader was complaining about how he'll go bald due to his dongsaeng, Krs stood lost in thought, his gaze fixated on the way Team Leader's hands shook, his worried eyes looking over the scars in a way that said 'sorry'.

"Human!"

Cale's eyes snapped and he looked towards his family, all smiling and laughing together. And for a moment, he forgot all the flaws he held, and he rushed towards the kids, all the while smiling along.

oh god oh GODDD im so excited for the comic strip scene to appear in fic bc bruce and petey’s hug is making my heart ACHE… specifically the way that the goober leans his WHOLE BODY into it and then bruce places a secure hand on his back and cradles the back of his head ough OUGHHH like that action is so like . yeah you sure are an uncle ben counterpart bc clearly you love this kid with everything you have and are giving him a guiding hand . but also but ALSO something about the movement is so … batman pulling robin under his cape … providing careful shelter to a kid who needs it so bad … like if im dick and i see my father figure and my kid caring for each other to the point of enacting change (bruce being emotionally intelligent and petey letting himself trust + be tactile) im sobbing and throwing up bc my heart is so full . like he cares he learned from his mistakes w me … and my baby who deserves everything gets to reap the benefits and soak up all that honest affection like AUGHHH its all worth it its all worth it

bruce makes me so emotional sometimes because the older he gets the more he learns from his mistakes and the more guilty he feels about his older children and trying to make up for it in every possible way,,, i PLAN for right after this conversation with peter and bruce, for dick to see it and bruce tug him into the hug and AGGHH they make me emotional. bruce was like "i can't get attached because peter has to go home" ans then proceeded to fail at not getting attached. but we all knew that would happen (look at his track record...)

WOUGH- Alright, fellas. Alright, let's wipe away the tears and push through! While I usually leave the music up to Potato Lord, might I recommend "Remember Me" by Thomas Bergersen for this particular read. To be honest, I've flipped back and forth between whether or not to see Faroe as The Fool or The World but, yes. The World fits her the best. The World is a continuous cycle of completion and new beginnings. I find it evident to revisit something said in Noel's card analysis:

Faroe is a constant presence in the narrative of Malevolent, representing and bordering the cycles and arcs within it. This is represented by the continuous wreath around Faroe as well as the borders of Faroe's song on the outside of it. While this wreath is usually laurels, they are Forget-Me-Nots in this case. This especially hurts for many reasons. Firstly, we know that Arthur carries that guilt over Faroe with him. He won't forget her. She is his guiding light (quite literally as we learn from Malam) and continues to motivate Arthur to keep going. This is evident in episodes like Coda, where memories of Faroe are the things that are keeping Arthur fighting for his life. Secondly, if you weren't aware, the patrons were given three options during the chapters of Part 40 I for Arthur to have written down to "forget" before heading into the Order. These being 1.) forgetting meeting John, 2.) forgetting meeting Oscar, or 3.) forgetting about the duck pond. We are well aware of what was chosen. Arthur won't forget her. And I believe that Oscar would have been willing to take on that sacrifice if he knew and was given the choice himself. Notice the teeny, teeny, little star on Faroe's cardigan. Near her heart chakra. Both Faroe and Oscar are incredibly empathetic, compassionate, and forgiving which are all aligned with this chakra in particular. It was discussed previously, about the parallels between everyone in the cards looking in particular directions. John and Arthur are looking upward. Noel and Oscar are looking downward into their respective pools. Kayne sees through it all and directly at us (he is aware of us listening, you know <3. Just listen to Part 20 again <33. Something akin to tears rain from the Moon, disturbing the still waters and memories of Faroe. It's not a bad thing. No. Remember that Arthur is honoring her memory by knowing that his life is still worth living. He lives for her still and she is with him always. To me, this focuses much on the transition from Season Four to Season Five. Season Four is where Arthur shined the most, leaving John mostly in the dark. This is in the past now as the Moon hangs high within the wreath. Now we step into a new beginning where it is John's time to learn and time to grow. This is certainly shown in his acceptance of him being something entirely his own during the encounter with the Hag. Outside of the wreath of Forget Me Nots, you see the Sun shining brightly and hanging above.

Well, doesn't that look familiar... <3. The Sun represents hope and joy. The prospect of what they have to do for Kayne in Season Five is difficult and conflicting in of itself. Miles to go... However, there can be the tiniest bit of hope that maybe. Just maybe. The next time their cycle completes, three pairs of feet step through instead. That finally, like Faroe's favorite story, all three of them are able to cross that bridge into the next chapter.
