This is a sideblog!!!! I can't like/follow, but asks, reblogs, & messages are open (keep it not-weird please)

I'm starting this blog because I'm in the middle of a queer panic (sexuality crisis are fun am I right?). Currently I'm using the terms 'gay' and 'queer' as umbrella terms for my identity, because I'm not sure enough of myself for a more specific label.

As I mentioned before, I am socially isolated. I don't speak to many people irl. I'm not very good at it. However, that does not stop me craving conversation and interaction. So long as you don't make it inappropriate, I'm all up for a chat.

This is mostly just going to be me talking about queer stuff. I don't have anywhere else to do it and I'd like to find people who can relate.

I often say "I love my blorbos stupid and in love", andI just realized why.

It's the same reason why I usually avoid melodramatic angst like awful misunderstanding (not the funny kind, the angsty kind, like "your ex sent me a pic of you sleeping alone but told me he was there w you after sex and I believe your ex more than I believe in you so this is the end!", yes, thank you certain GO fics for that trauma).

I love my blorbos stupid and in love bc I'm mostly "stupid" and when I finally fall in love, I'm sure I'm not going to even notice it! Unless someone, more mentally stable than me points it out. "Mai, dude, you're in love with this person, can't you see?"

And I won't see it until then! Because, blame the AuDHD or blame my melted by videogames brain, I don't notice social cues about love interest.

I can notice if someone is using me for some thing or another, because I learned how to by trial and error (and trauma).

But when someone is nice to me? Man, it took me 15 years (no kidding) to accept that my besties also consider me their bestie and no "some dude". FIFTEEN YEARS OF YEARNING FOR A FRIENDSHIP THAT WAS ALWAYS THERE SINCE THE BEGINNING!

Hence, when I read or write about Steddie being in love, flirting to each other, and the other doesn't notice until Dustin or Robin or Nancy tells them, that's my jam!

Also, because it's so fucking pure.

It's not "hey baby wanna come to my place?" Like cishet guys still ask me when hitting on me. It's not planned. Their love borns from their friendship, their bond! Their shared trauma in canon aus.

When I read about Astarion being annoying to Gale to a point that he does it because he knows that's what gets Gale's attention, when I read that Gale kisses Astarion softly instead of angrily even if Astarion is doing everything to upset Gale, I MELT! Because they're friends first, they know each other too well by then.

Not saying that I'm against strangers to lovers in the first date, I also read and write that trope as well. I just realized that I can relate better when they're friends to lovers.

Fancy dates are great and all but what about hobby/special interest dates??? They are just dates based on what we like and we both get to info-dump too. In my opinion, that would be more fun because I get to know more about the person I'm romantically attracted to or platonically attracted to. For example, I love jellyfish and aquatic life so much. It's a huge special interest for me (might be because of ADHD and autism but who cares). I could show every animal and excitedly tell you about them and more facts about them. Then the second date/hang out can be something you are interested in and want to share it. You love hiking and you have a great spot? Let's go then, I don't mind walking for hours while you talk about why you like it and how it makes you feel!

I just love knowing the person more and seeing them info-dump excitedly because someone is willing to listen and do the activities with them ❤️
