LAST NIGHT - BELLAMY BLAKE
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bellamy Blake x Reader
Word Count: 2,355
Summary: (requested) A drinking game with Monty and Co goes a bit too far. Intending to get back to your own tent, you stumble upon Bellamy and some shock revelations.
You hadn’t been on the Ground long yet it seemed like you never left the Ark. You had convinced Raven to let you stowaway with her in her rebuilt pod and now, you were among friends.
Mostly.
The only caveat - other than the alleged war with the Grounders - was Bellamy Blake.
Not quite friends, not quite enemies, but frenemies didn’t work either. It seemed like you two just couldn’t go a day without arguing or damn near punching each other in the mouth. There wasn’t really any reason to it either. He liked to instigate you and your temper had you engaging in the bickering everytime. It had been that way since you had first met, but you had to admit, it was fun for you too.
Once the flares went up and hope was in the air, liquor was being poured into cups across camp. You took a spot with Monty, Jasper, and Harper, and Jasper did not hesitate to fill your little tin cup as much as he could.
Your group started some nonsense drinking game, and you lost count of the drinks or rounds after about four. If anyone asked, you didn’t know who was winning or losing or even the premise of the game anymore. All you knew was that you had drunk way too much way too fast. When the entire forest was spinning around you, you used the bit of logical thought you had left and decided to make your way to your tent.
Harper offered to help you, but the slurring of her words told you that she was about as lucid as you were. You waved her off and reasoned that you could make it on your own since there were walls around camp now. If there was the potential of you wandering into the empty woods, then you would’ve taken her up on the offer, but you’d be fine.
As you were wandering back, you saw Octavia sneaking out. Curious, you tried to follow. You had gotten all of four steps before you tripped over your own feet and landed on your side. You laughed at yourself and rolled to your back, hands flat on your stomach. Maybe you’d just sleep there.
“What are you doing?” Bellamy asked, suddenly standing over you.
“Sleeping.” You answered.
“Oh, shit.” He sighed and you grinned. “Are you drunk?”
“Are you?” You tried to point a finger at him but ended up gesturing to nothing, which made you giggle.
His hand closed around your wrist and he hauled you to your feet, bringing on another round of laughter. He kept a grip on your arm and guided you through camp, despite your dragging feet and nonsense blabbering. He brought you to your tent but you refused to go in.
Surely he had you turned around. Or maybe that was the liquor buzzing in your head. Regardless. you stomped your foot and told him he was wrong. You pointed to a tent three over and said that one was yours. You could see he was trying to stay patient with you but he didn’t sign up to babysit you as a drunk.
“That’s not yours.” He complained and you squinted in suspicion. “That’s Atom’s.”
“I have an innate sense of di-rec-tion.” You pointed out, holding up a finger. “I know where I’m supposed to be.”
“Alright, Magellan.” He laughed slightly and offered you his hand. “Come with me.”
“Oh no you don’t.” You wagged your finger and hiccuped. “I know how that goes. You bring me to your tent, you play the hero, and you think I’ll sleep with you.”
“No, Y/N, I’m not trying to sleep with you.” He sighed.
“Well why not?” You stomped, now offended. “I’ll have you know I’m spectacular.”
“I’m sure you are.” He rolled his eyes slightly and grabbed your wrist. “But I’m not gonna sleep with you when you’re wasted like this, so come with me… Please.”
You gasped dramatically. “Bellamy Blake knows the word ‘please’? I have to-“ Hiccup. “-tell everyone.”
He sighed slightly before he leaned down and looped his other arm around the back of your leg. You made a face to yourself but before you could say anything, he threw you over his shoulders. You squealed and kicked your feet, banging your fists weakly against him.
“Put me down!” You laughed. “Damn you, Bellamy!”
“Yeah, yeah.” He muttered, but there was amusement in his voice. He carried you to a tent and dropped you on your feet.
You stumbled when your feet hit the floor and you let yourself drop to the floor. You giggled when you landed and looked up at him. His arms were crossed and his eyebrows were raised, as if he expected you to say something. You huffed and crossed your arms the same way.
“You have, like, the biggest tent.” You looked around his space.
“What’s your point?” He sighed.
You threw your hands to the side which made you wobble slightly. Your eyes went big as you regained your balance before you laughed again. You looked back to Bellamy and he was already looking at you.
“You wanna know something?” You said loudly and crawled over to sit across from him.
“You’re gonna tell me anyway.” He crossed his arms again.
“I like your curly hair.” You said simply and he couldn’t hide the surprise on his face. “You always had it like slicked back on the Ark.”
“Thanks?”
“Yeah.” You nodded. “You thank people for compliments.”
“You’re not usually the compliment type.” He rolled his eyes. “Usually you’re the ‘kicking me in the shin’ type.”
“I could do that too.” You nodded. “But! I will not.”
“Lucky me.”
“Don’t you be mean to me again!” You thrust a finger forward and the sudden movement made you dizzy for a moment. “You’re always mean.”
“Coming from the girl who has a comment everytime I say anything to her?” He commented with a small laugh.
“Because you’re mean.” You glared. “But you’re pretty, so it’s a give and take I guess.” You shrugged.
“Jesus, Y/N.” He sighed, rubbing a hand down his face. “How much did you drink tonight?”
“I don’t like your tone, Blake!”
“And I don’t really care.”
“You don’t like me very much, do you?” You changed the subject. You couldn’t quite remember how much you had.
“What do you mean?” He cocked his head.
“You’re mean to me.” You frowned and counted off your statements. “You don’t laugh at my jokes. You never let me do things. You used to make fun of me on the Ark and that’s why I kick your stupid shins. You always give me that look.”
“What look?”
“That look! Like you’re trying to make me spontaneously combust.”
He shook his head with a disbelieving laugh. “Y/N, I never said I didn’t like you.”
“But you’re mean.” You pouted.
He knelt down in front of you and you pursed your bottom lip.
“I’m gonna tell you this now, because you probably won’t remember it in the morning.” He said quietly, like it was a secret.
You leaned in, reaching for him to keep your steady. He caught your hands and you felt a sobering heat on your cheeks.
“I do like you, Y/N.” He said, wide eyes and a small smile. “It started as a crush when we were kids and now… Now I can’t stop thinking about you, looking for you in the crowds and trying to find an excuse to talk to you.”
“No way.” You whispered.
“I know.” His smile drew a little wider. “I never meant to be mean.”
“You’re not that mean.” You shrugged. “Let’s just say it was banter.”
“Banter.” He repeated with a laugh. “Yeah, alright.”
“Like in those books!” You announced. “Where they act like they hate each other but they’re actually madly in love.”
“Let’s go with that then.” He nodded, that small smile still playing on his lips. “Do you want me to walk you to your tent?”
“I don’t think I could make it back to my tent.” You confessed before a fit of giggles. “I feel like I’m gonna fall over as soon as I get up.”
“What happened to that innate sense of direction?” He asked as he helped you to your feet.
You shrugged. “It seems to have left me.”
“Or you never had it.”
“I still have a foot and you still have shins.” You warned, though the slurring of your words left them without any threat. “Just cause I like you doesn’t mean I won’t kick the hell outta you. It’s called duality.”
He shook his head and helped you shuffle across the tent. Carefully, you two laid down and you felt the world shift as you did so. You made a noise, something like the joking sound of a ghost, and slammed a hand to the blankets. Bellamy’s hand closed over yours and you looked over at him. You broke into a grin and he returned the smile, not as wide as yours but an honest smile.
You shifted over and put your head against his shoulder. He adjusted his arm so it was draped over your chest and you two just laid there for a while. You continued to talk, about anything and everything. A butterfly you saw earlier that day. A conversation you had with Octavia. What you remembered from your earlier drinking game. Before you knew it, you were drifting off to sleep.
And for the first time since you stepped foot on the ground, you truly felt safe.
When you woke up, you had no idea how late into the day it was. Bellamy was still beside you, so you doubted it was that late. Your head pounded as you pushed yourself to sit up and glanced around.
Your brows furrowed as you realized you weren’t in your own tent.
You slapped a hand over your mouth when you realized. You peeked over your shoulder again and it sunk in that you weren’t in your tent. You were in Bellamy’s.
You muttered to yourself in panic as you got up quickly. Your clothes were which both left you relieved and oddly disappointed. At least he didn’t try to hook up with you when you were drunk, but being drunk might’ve been the only way you’d be confident enough to sleep with him.
You snuck a glance outside the tent and saw there weren’t many people around. With a sigh of relief, you stepped out and immediately winced at the brightness of the sun.
“Hello Sleeping Beauty!” Jasper yelled from basically across camp and you cringed as more heads turned in your direction.
You hurried over and whacked him on the arm.
“Ow! What was that for?” He complained.
“For making people stare at me!” You hissed.
“What difference does it make?” He laughed. “Oh, I see. You don’t want people to see you coming out of Bellamy’s tent.”
“Shut up!”
“Why? You didn’t have any problems going into Bellamy’s tent last night.”
“Jasper, I swear I will kill you!”
He laughed and threw his arm over your shoulders. “But seriously, Y/N/N. Yesterday you were ready to tear his head off, now you’re tearing his clothes off.”
You elbowed him in the ribs.
“Lay off, Jasper.” Bellamy said, suddenly at your side.
You stiffened for a moment before you hid your face in your hands. You complained to yourself, ignoring whatever the boys were saying around you, and wished to disappear. You peeked between your fingers and saw Jasper leave. Hoping Bellamy left too, you dropped your hands.
You were wrong.
“You feel okay?” Bellamy asked.
“Mortified, actually.” You answered. “But I didn’t kill my liver last night, just a headache. I’m fine, thanks…”
He gestured for you to follow and hesitantly, you did.
“You were pretty drunk last night.” He began as you fell into stride with him.
“Well aware, thank you.” You rolled your eyes. “I do appreciate you not leaving me on the ground. Can’t say I would’ve done the same for you, but…” You shrugged.
Bellamy laughed slightly.
“What?” You asked quickly.
“You don’t remember what you said last night, do you?” He smiled at you.
You were so taken aback by it, the true delight and shine of his smile, that you tripped over your own feet. You landed on your back and groaned, more in embarrassment than anything. Bellamy knelt beside you with an amused smirk and you threw your arms over your face.
“Kill me now.” You groaned. “What did I say last night?”
You wished you could melt into the floor.
“That you’re madly in love with me.”
You could hear the smile he still wore. You sat up quickly and nearly collided with him.
“I did not say that.” You defended quickly. You may not remember much of the night before but you sure as hell would’ve remembered saying that.
“I know, I was shocked. And then you said you just had to have me. You were pretty persistent.”
You squinted in suspicion but he feigned innocence.
“It’s true.” He shrugged.
You kicked his arm since you couldn’t reach his shins, but he just laughed.
“It’s alright, though. Wanna know why?” He smirked.
“Go on and enlighten me.” You rolled your eyes.
“Cause I might be madly in love with you too.”
“Might?” You raised your eyebrows. “So you just let any girl you might be in love with sleep with you?”
“Hey now. You tell people we slept together, they might get the wrong idea.” He offered you a hand to help you to your feet.
“Oh, please.” You scoffed. “It’s gonna take more than a few drinks and those pretty curls to get me in bed with you.”
His hands were suddenly on your waist and he pulled you flush against him.
“Worked last night.” He shrugged.
“Beginner’s luck.” You rolled your eyes. “Bet it won’t happen again.”
“You’re on.”
“And when I win?”
“When I win, you’ll be in my bed. If you win, I’ll be in yours.”

My Top 25 Crossover Couples (Pt 2)
(Please click on picture for better quality)
It's finally finished! I've had this sitting in my PicsArt drafts for over four months, and that's why some of the other pictures are blurry because it's been rendered so many times, but there had to be changes made based on my mood!
Top 25 Crossover Couples (Blank) by Daniarts19 on DA.
(This will also be the last time that I'll use this template by Daniarts19 due to her disrespecting my DNI and breaking her promise about not saying mean/rude things to me.)
Loona (Helluva Boss) x Izuku (MHA) (Dekoona/MoonRabbit): My friend @amethystoceandespiser got me to ship them. I'm invested in their chemistry and emotional connection.
Sunita (ROTTMNT) x Tucker (Danny Phantom): My friend @amethystoceandespiser brought this ship to my attention and I love it!
Octavia (Helluva Boss) x Danny (DP) (Spectral Owl): This is the ship that started the friendship between me and @amethystoceandespiser and I love it! Their emotional connection and chemistry has my heart.
Jazz (Danny Phantom) x Raph (ROTTMNT) (Tough Cookie & Smart Cookie): This ship came to me after my friend and I made our Scott Pilgrim AU. They're both older siblings who just want the best for their younger siblings. They understand each other's pain.
Mayor Lionheart (Zootopia) x Anna (Frozen): My reasons for shipping Anna and Mayor Lionheart are explained in this post here.
Sparky (Atomic Betty) x Amethyst (Trollz) This ship came to me as a kid.
Buttercup (PPG) x Nergal Jr (TGAOB&M) I love Tomboy x Nerd dynamics, but it's even more interesting considering that Buttercup fights monsters for a living and Nergal Jr. is a monster-demon-demigod-nerd-boy, lol.
Lobster Claws (SVTFOE) x Bubbles (PPG) (BubbleClaws) This crackship is based on a joke between me and my sister @small-tragedies
Goo (FHFIF) x Blossom (PPG) (GooBloss/PinkGoo) This ship came to me when I was a kid, and I thought that they were cute together.
Alice (AMA/AMR) x P/Pinocchio (LOP) (Palice) I have to thank my friend, @frie-ice for getting me to ship them.
Violet (The Incredibles) x Varian (TTS/RTA) (Virian) I have to thank @virianhaven for getting me to ship them.
Lola Bunny (TLTS) x Minnie Mouse (Minola) I have @dawn64 to thank for getting me to ship them so hard.
Lucifer Morningstar x Poppy (DuckPop/PopStar/ApplePop) I have @hah-studios to thank for getting me to ship them. Watch this video here.
Rapunzel (Tangled) x Fred (BH6) (Fredpunzel/Rapzilla/Sunzilla) I have to thank @rapunzelcrossoverqueen for getting me to ship them.
Minerva Mink x Marvin Martian (Minervin/MartianMink) I have to thank @dawn64 for getting me to ship them.
Panini (Chowder) x Lincoln/Warren (Loud House): I had an idea based on the "White Hare" episode, where Lincoln has a dream about being a rabbit named Warren with 15 extra sisters but instead has an Alice in Wonderland-type adventure being transported to Marzipan City, and you can probably guess the rest.
Ami (Sailor Moon) x Sonic (Sonic X) (SonAmi, I guess, lol): Being a die-hard SonElise shipper, it's easy to assume that Sonic has a type~
Daisy Duck x Cruella (Cruaisy): I started shipping them years ago when I watched this Disney short called Electric Holiday. I've made a couple AUs where Daisy works for Cruella in the fashion industry, and they become close friends and lovers in a May-December relationship.
Tom (Tom & Jerry) x Bright Eyes (Pound Puppies Season 1): I like to headcanon that Tom and Bright Eyes are childhood friends to lovers. I explain it more in this post here.
Frank Wolff (Jungle Cruise) x Jack Sparrow (TPOTC) (SparrowWolf/WolfSparrow): I don't really ship characters from live-action movies and shows, but Disney Mirrorverse got me to ship these two goofballs.
Cinderella x Gojo (JJK) (Gojoella): Don't get me wrong. I love Sukuella, but I solely blame @peachudumplings for giving me Fairy-God-Gojo, and thus I ship Cinderella and Gojo too, lol.
Stitch (Lilo and Stitch) x Tinker Bell (Peter Pan): My reasons for crackshipping Stitch and Tinker Bell are explained in this post here.
Alice x Peter Pan (PanAlice): I've always shipped Peter Pan and Alice, but because of their Disney Mirrorverse counterparts, I shipped them harder.
Yuji Itadori (JJK) x Yuliy Jirov (Sirius the Jaeger) (YuYu): They have so much in common! That's all I'll say about these two for now~
Tiana x Nanami (Tianami): I have to thank @peachudumplings for getting me to ship them so hard. They're perfect for each other~
I am cringe and I am free!

That night we all slept in the dropship, either on the floor or on makeshift hammocks. I hardly slept that night, too worried about the group heading to Mount Weather, as well as wondering about my family on the Ark. I knew my father had to have known about the plan, but did he bother to tell my mother?
I pushed through the sheet covering the dropship door, heading outside. Just a few feet away, I watched as Atom reached for the clothes in Wells' hands.
"There's always a market for-"
Wells yanked himself away from Atom. "We share based on need, just like back home."
I felt myself being shoved to the side as Bellamy exited the dropship, his chest bare as a girl followed close behind. "You still don't get it, do you, Chancellor?" I watched as Bellamy kissed the girl, her happily marching away.
Gross.
"This is home now. Your father's rules no longer apply." Bellamy continued, heading over to Wells and grabbing a shirt. Wells attempted to grab the shirt back, Atom pushing him away.
"Atom, hold up," Bellamy responded, looking in Wells' direction. "You want it back? Take it."
Wells stared Bellamy down for a few moments before tossing the rest of the clothes on the ground. A nearby group of delinquents ran over, sifting through the pile.
"Is this what you want? Chaos?" Wells asked.
Bellamy smirked. "What's wrong with a little chaos?"
"A little chaos goes a long way with a bunch of criminals," I responded, knocking into Bellamy's shoulder as I walked past him.
Just as I reached Wells, the sound of yelps filled the air. We all exchanged glances before running off in the direction it was coming from.
"Bellamy, check it out," Murphy spoke, holding a girl's head over a fire. "We want the Ark to think the ground is killing us, right? I figured it would look better if we suffered a little first."
"Let her go!" Wells rushed over, shoving Murphy to the ground. He looked to Bellamy, shaking his head. "You can stop this."
"Stop this? I'm just getting started."
With that, Murphy swung at Wells, clocking him in the cheek. As Wells fell back slightly, Murphy continued to beat on him while others cheered him on.
"Stop it!" I screamed, though Bellamy grabbed my arm before I could place myself in the middle of the two boys.
Wells backed away, limping slightly. "Don't you see you can't control this?" He asked, looking at Bellamy.
"You're dead." Murphy declared, pulling out a knife.
"Wait," Bellamy spoke, letting go of my arm. He reached into the pocket of his pants, pulling out a knife and tossing it on the ground in front of Wells. "Fair fight."
I looked at Bellamy, stunned.
Wells stared at Murphy for a moment before looking down at the knife. He finally knelt down, picking up the knife before rising to his feet again. Murphy was the first to swing, Wells swinging back. Eventually, Murphy sliced Wells' arm.
"This is for my father!" Murphy called out, going to swing again.
Wells dodged the swing, grabbing Murphy and putting him in a headlock. "Drop it! Drop it!"
"Wells! Let him go."
I looked over, watching Clarke make her way down the hill, Finn following close behind. Wells did as she said, Murphy quickly charging back at him.
Bellamy quickly jumped in, grabbing Murphy. "Enough."
Octavia stumbled down the hill next, Monty assisting her. She had a piece of cloth wrapped around her leg, which she was limping on.
"Octavia!" Bellamy called out, rushing towards her. "Are you alright?"
Octavia nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine."
"Where's the food?"
Finn sighed. "We didn't make it to Mount Weather."
"What the hell happened out there?" I asked.
"We were attacked," Clarke responded.
"Attacked? By what?" Wells asked.
"Not what, who," Finn responded. " It turns out, when the last man from the ground died on the Ark, he wasn't the last Grounder."
"It's true," Clarke spoke. "Everything we thought we knew about the ground is wrong. There are people here, survivors. The good news is, that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us."
"Yeah, the bad news is the grounders will."
I stood there, taken aback by Finn's words. "How is any of this possible? There's no way anyone could have survived the blast, let alone the radiation for the last hundred years."
Clarke shook her head. "I don't know, maybe they came from a bunker?"
"They definitely didn't come from space," Finn said.
Wells looked around. "Where's the kid with the goggles?"
"Jasper was hit. They took him." Clarke responded, looking at Wells' wrist. "Where's your wristband?"
I hadn't even noticed it was missing.
Wells glared at Bellamy. "Ask him."
Clarke turned to Bellamy, moving closer as she clenched her jaw. "How many?"
"Twenty-four and counting," Murphy spoke up.
"You idiots," Clarke said, shaking her head. "Life support on the Ark is failing. That's why they brought us down here. They need to know the ground is survivable again, and we need their help against whoever is out there. If you take off your wristbands, you're not just killing them. You're killing us!"
Bellamy's face fell pale, though he quickly pulled himself together. "We're stronger than you think. Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good. How many of you can say the same?" He asked, looking around. "We can take care of ourselves. That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner. We are not prisoners anymore! They say they'll forgive your crimes. I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The Grounders should worry about us!"
People began cheering, once again eating up every stupid word he said. How could they be so blind?
"What do we do now?" I heard Monty whisper to Clarke.
"Now we go after Jasper."
...
I followed Wells up the dropship ladder, pulling myself up through the door behind him. Clarke sat in the middle of the room, packing items into her backpack.
"There you are," Wells said.
I took a deep breath, exhaling loudly. "When your father said they didn't leave us anything, he wasn't kidding."
Clarke looked over at us, her eyes falling on the gash on Wells' arm from his knife fight with Murphy. Wells looked away. "It's just a scratch."
"You're making friends fast." Clarke sighed, looking at me. "How about you?"
"No knife fights yet, but Bellamy is tempting me."
Clarke smiled slightly before turning her attention back to Wells. "Keep it covered. It could get infected." As Wells adjusted the strap of his bag, Clarke smiled again. "Nice pack."
"Yeah, seat belts and insulation." Wells smiled. "I also packed part of the parachute, figured we could use it to carry Jasper back to camp."
"Good," Clarke said. "Give it to someone else. You're not coming with us."
Wells shook his head. "My ankle is fine."
"It's not your ankle Wells, it's you," Clarke responded, making her way down the ladder.
I climbed down the ladder after Clarke, Wells following after me. "I get to come though, right? Being stuck at this suck ass camp is driving me insane."
"Yeah, we could use another person."
"You came back for reinforcements. I'm going to help." Wells pressed on.
Monty, who stood by the ladder, turned his attention to us. "Clarke, he's right. We need him. So far no one else has volunteered."
"I'm sorry, Monty. You're not coming either."
"Like hell I'm not," Monty responded. "Jasper's my best friend."
"You're too important. You were raised on Farm Station and recruited by Engineering. That's food and communication." Clarke pointed to Monty's head. "What's up here is going to save us all. You figure out how to talk to the Ark and I'll bring Jasper back."
Finn entered the dropship, stopping as he spotted us all.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked.
"I'm not going anywhere, and neither should any of you," Finn said. "That spear was thrown with pinpoint accuracy from three hundred feet away."
"So what, we let Jasper die? Not going to happen." Clarke replied. "Spacewalker? What a joke. You think you're such an adventurer. You're really just a coward."
"It's not an adventure, Clarke. It's a suicide mission."
Clarke shook her head, pushing past him and out of the dropship.
Wells stepped forward. "Build a wall. Use the fallen trees. I'll watch out for her."
As Wells left the dropship, I followed him towards Clarke. She now stood in front of Bellamy and Octavia, who sat together on a log.
"You guys are leaving? I'm coming too." Octavia spoke, attempting to stand up.
"No, not again," Bellamy spoke as he stood from the log, his voice stern.
"He's right, your leg's just going to slow us down," Clarke said, before focusing on Bellamy. "I'm here for you."
Wells raised an eyebrow. "Clarke, what are you doing?"
"I hear you have a gun," Bellamy smirked, lifting up his shirt slightly to reveal the gun tucked in his waistband. "Good. Follow me."
"Why would I do that?"
Clarke turned back to Bellamy, her eyebrows raised. "Because you want them to follow you, and right now, they're thinking only one of us is scared."
Without waiting for an answer, Clarke began heading off into the forest. Wells and I followed her, Bellamy and Murphy joining us not long after.
I wanted to go with Clarke to get away from these two idiots.
"Those guys aren't just bullies, Clarke. They're dangerous criminals." Wells said, his voice hushed.
"Good. I'm counting on it."
...
I followed close behind Clarke as she rushed through the forest, the boys staying further behind. She was avoiding Wells, that much was obvious. All I wanted to do was tell her the truth; that Wells hadn't been the one to turn her father in. I knew I couldn't though.
"Do you really think we'll find Jasper?" I asked. "Finn mentioned a spear. Odds are he wouldn't have survived that."
Clarke didn't answer, her eyebrows furrowing more than previously.
I watched as Bellamy sped up, getting closer to myself and Clarke. "Hey, hold up." He spoke, pulling out his gun. "What's the rush? Like Athena said, you don't survive a spear to the heart."
"Put the gun away, Bellamy," Wells demanded.
Murphy stepped in front of Wells. "Why don't you do something about it?"
Clarke shook her head. "Jasper screamed when they moved him. If the spear struck his heart, he'd have died instantly. It doesn't mean we have time to waste."
Bellamy grabbed her arm. "As soon as you remove your wristband, we can go."
Clarke jerked her arm out of his grip. "The only way the Ark is going to think I'm dead is if I'm dead. Got it?"
"Brave princess," Bellamy smirked.
"Why don't you find your own nickname?" I hadn't noticed Finn following us. "You call this a rescue party? Got to split up, cover more ground. Clarke, come with me."
Clarke smiled, turning around and following Finn.
Bellamy shook his head, turning his attention to me. "What about you, Athena? Ready to remove your wristband yet?"
"Not in a million years," I said. "You might not have anyone who gives two shits about what happens to you down here, but I do."
With that, I turned around and began heading off in the direction Finn and Clarke went. There was no way I was going to give up my wristband. As much as I would love for my father to wonder if I was alive, I knew I couldn't do that to my mother.
...
"Hey, how do we know this is the right way?" Murphy asked.
Clarke and Finn had found Jasper's goggles by the river, and we were now following the blood trail left alongside it.
"We don't," Bellamy said. "Spacewalker thinks he's a tracker."
"It's called cutting sign. Fourth-year Earth Skills, he's good." Wells looked over Finn's shoulder.
Finn turned around. "You want to keep it down or should I paint a target on your backs?"
Finn began following the blood trail further, myself and Clarke staying close behind him. I kept swatting the air around me, growing more annoyed by the bugs and all the bites I could feel covering my skin.
"Too bad they didn't send us with bug spray," Clarke spoke softly.
I raised my eyebrow. "That's a thing?"
"You never paid attention in Earth Skills."
"I never thought it would matter," I said. "I knew they expected the ground to be survivable soon, but I didn't think we'd ever actually get down here. Not in our lifetime at least."
The sound of moans filled the air, causing us all to stop in our tracks.
"What the hell was that?" Murphy asked.
Clarke looked at Bellamy. "Now would be a good time to take out that gun."
The moaning continued and we followed it, coming across an open field. Across the way was a tree, and my jaw dropped as I noticed what was strung from it.
"Oh my god."
"Jasper?" Clarke gasped, rushing forward.
"Clarke, watch out!"
Suddenly the ground fell from beneath Clarke. Bellamy lunged forward, grabbing her hand. I watched as he stared down at her, not pulling her up. The rest of us came to his aid, grabbing Clarke and pulling her back up from the hole.
As everyone gasped for air, I peeked into the hole. It was filled with spikes.
"Are you okay?" Finn asked.
Clarke nodded. "We need to get him down."
"I'll climb up there and cut the vines."
"I'm with you." Wells offered.
"No," Finn said. "You and Athena stay with Clarke, and watch him." He eyed Bellamy, a scowl forming across his face. "Murphy, you're with me."
Clarke took a deep breath. "There's a poultice in his wound."
"Medicine?" Wells asked. "Why would they save his life just to string him up as live bait?"
"Maybe what they're trying to catch likes its dinner breathing," Bellamy suggested.
"Maybe what they're trying to catch is us." Finn frowned.
Finn and Murphy worked on cutting Jasper down, while Wells was checking in on Clarke and Bellamy and I stood off to the side.
A bug landed on my arm, causing me to swat it, crushing it against my skin. I quickly wiped the blood away, causing Bellamy to laugh.
"What?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.
Bellamy shrugged. "Nothing, It's just- from what Octavia's said, I never would've guessed you'd be afraid of bugs."
"I'm not afraid of them," I mumbled. "I just don't want them touching me."
"Just wait until the hornets come out."
My eyes grew wide. "Hornets?"
He simply laughed, looking over at Finn and Murphy.
As I continued to swat the bugs away, a deep growl came from the forest surrounding us.
"What the hell was that?" Murphy asked.
"Grounders?" Bellamy suggested.
The growling continued to grow louder until finally, a pair of yellow eyes came out of the forest. It was a large black cat, unlike anything I'd seen before.
"Bellamy, the gun!" Clarke called out.
Bellamy reached for the gun, patting around but unable to feel it.
The cat lunged forward, Bellamy grabbing me and yanking me out of its line of sight. Suddenly the sound of gunshots filled the air, the cat falling to the ground.
I looked around, my eyes landing on Wells, who held the gun in his shaky hand. Clarke stood next to him, looking back and forth between him and the cat.
"Now she sees you," Bellamy spoke through shaky breaths.
I gasped for air, not realizing I'd been holding my breath. "I hate Earth already."

so can we say that
octavia’s thing is “boys falling in love with me even though is strongly forbidden by their people”?
clarke’s thing is “don’t falling in love with me because i may kill you directly or indirectly”?
and raven’s thing is “don’t falling in love with me because short after you will die”?
can we say that?

#sidenote. in this alternate world we all now blakecest shipping would've been THROUGH THE ROOF #whether or not canon would've actually leaned more in that direction #(it doesn't seem to be jroth's deal but the vibes would've probably happened even if unitentionally lol)
he literally sees her sister making out with a nice boy and leaves himg hanging him from a tree all night... the fandom would've eaten that shit UP lmao.
I've mentioned something on this line but really, the pilot (and I'm predicting it'll be the case for season 1 in general) really makes me feel that if jroth had focused from the word go into where his heart clearly was, aka the blake siblings, and had built the show around that, the 100 might've been good good. alas, I care more about echo or murphy or emori's narratives than about the blake siblings, so I don't mind the trade off.

So ¿what in your opinion are Danny fenton's top 5 cutest crossover ships? In both het and slash.
So ¿two top 5's? I don't know.
Well, this is going to be fun because I have more than just 5 hehehe 😼
1) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Manny Rivera/El Tigre (TigerGhost/TigerSpirit) I just fell in love with their dynamic, thanks to @/nicktoonsunite
I love Danny and Manny because Danny tends to be a little more serious and easily stressed out than Manny. And Manny's laid-back and fun loving personality helps balance that out for Danny. But the main draw for me is that they both understand what it's like to have separate identities that clash with their lives and the responsibility of protecting others. Even though they may feel like their powers get in the way of their normal lives sometimes, they will always put aside their own needs to do what's right.
2) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBoo) because of @/nicktoonsunite (and because I remember playing Nicktoons Volcano Island on my old GameCube and Nicktoons Globs of Doom on my old PS2).
Danny and SpongeBob are just cute, queerplatonic partners, and their personalities mesh well together. I love how close and comforting they are in @/nicktoonsunite's universe. If there was something that was bothering them both, they would be the first people they chose to confide in.
3) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom and Octavia Goetia (Spectral Owl) because of you and how cute they are. I honestly love the idea of Danny and Via healthily trauma bonding over the upbringings they had in their family homes. I love how shy and awkward they would be with each other.
I imagine Octavia helping Danny ghost hunt with her magic and knowledge of the supernatural, but I think what I love most is how slowly and gently Danny gets Octavia to put her walls down and trust him. They would be absolutely good for each other as a couple, and I headcanon that Danny will grow to be 6′ 1″ and Octavia will be 6′ 7″. Danny and Octavia will be a tall and adorable king and queen couple one day. (He will always nickname her Spooky.)
4) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Betty Barrett/Atomic Betty (Galactic Ghost) Now I was a huge Atomic Betty and Danny Phantom fan in my childhood (still am) so that's how this ship came to be.
I ship Betty and Danny for the same reasons I ship Danny and Manny but Danny becomes a galactic guardian and Betty becomes a ghost buster lol.
5) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Little Cato (Spectral Space/Spooky Cat/Ghostly Hellions) (I need more ship names for these two).
I'm a huge Little Cato fan, and this is one of my favorite ships that I've come up with for him. I like to imagine that Little Cato gets his first intense crush on Danny, and Danny is completely oblivious (for awhile) about it. Little Cato just thinks that Danny is the coolest person he's ever met, and laughs at all of his silly jokes. Danny can't help but think how cute Little Cato is and finds himself enjoying every moment that they spend together. That's all I'm going to say about this ship because I plan to make a post about them in the future.
Honorable Mentions:
Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Jenny Wakeman/XJ-9
Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Billy Joe Cobra
Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Lydia Deetz (Because Lydia is sweet and kind and everything Sam isn't)
Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Spencer Wright
Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Verosika Mayday
Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Loona the hellhound
There's probably more that I like but can't think of any more right now.
Thanks for the ask @amethystoceandespiser

Chapter Eight
The first sight to fill my blurred vision was Octavia’s deeply concerned expression, as she crouched over me and her face lit up when I began to gain consciousness.
"Hey! Take it slow. You passed out." She instructed gently, halting me from straightening up too quickly and instead assisted me to carefully sit up.
"How are you feeling now?" She enquired with her brows furrowed together in worry and I knew that I had given her a fright.
"Would you believe me if I said better?" I laughed earnestly and though I knew how protective she was, I hoped that she wouldn't make too much of a fuss of the incident. "Honestly, I think a little black out is just what I needed." I added with a playful smile and though she  was clearly sceptical, she smiled in return.
"What's the situation with the air?" I questioned as I surveyed the room around us and noticed that nothing seemed any different than when I’d last been awake.
“It’s cleared. Everyone has gone back out to camp and Jasper has settled for now, so no more death threats.” She reported in a cheerful manner and I sighed in relief.
There was only so much that could be relied upon from books and I wouldn’t have trusted them to be correct on how long the effects of the fog were going to last. Not only did this cause concern for those of our camp who were currently out, but I had been fearful at the idea of protecting Jasper for any extended period whilst we were all trapped inside the ship.
“That’s a relief.” I breathed and she nodded in agreement. “Any chance that I could get some fresh air? It’s a little cramped in here.” I requested nervously and Octavia studied me suspiciously.
I could recognise that she was considering whether I was being honest about my condition and despite my frustrations, I couldn’t really blame her for this. After a few moments of silent deliberation, she glanced over my shoulder at Monty and I was relieved when he nodded in approval. In a final test, Octavia assisted me to my feet and then removed her grip to check that I could maintain my balance.
"Fine.” She breathed as she completed her assessment. “You look better than you did earlier, at least. Just so you know, you still look like crap, though." She teased with a subtle wink and I chuckled lightly in response.
"I'm coming with you, just in case." She demanded and I agreed reluctantly, accepting that this probably the maximum that I could expect from her in these circumstances.
The rickety ladder that led to the bottom floor presented me with my most substantial challenge and though it took some time to climb down, I managed to reach the exit. My legs still shook slightly from the strain, but I felt better than I had all of the previous day.
Octavia remained close at my side, watching my every move as we wandered out into the camp and I took a deep breath of the fresh air, the experience still feeling novel to me. Fortunately, I found that I didn’t feel as nauseous outside and took a seat by the fire with Octavia right beside me.
"Any news on your brother, or the hunting group?" I investigated hopefully, but Octavia shook her head regretfully and her concerned expression returned.
"They're getting a group ready to look for them." She confirmed regretfully and despite her attempts to conceal the fear that she felt, I recognised it in her voice.
Just as I opened my mouth to reassure her, several people around us jumped to their feet and a voice in the distance announced that the group were back. Octavia bolted to standing and the moment that Clarke and Finn entered the clearing, she ran over to intercept them. They seemed to be making a beeline for the dropship, and whilst she followed them, I continued to observe the spot where they had entered.
Wells was the next to return, closely followed by Bellamy and I noticed that he was carrying something large behind him. Dread filled my stomach as I hoped that this was simply the spoils of their hunt, but his expression was far from victorious and I carefully rose to my feet to investigate.
"Octavia.” Bellamy stuttered sharply as she reemerged from the ship and the tone that he addressed her with caused chills to spread down my spine. “Just stay there. Please, stay back." He pleaded and I rushed to catch her as she attempted to fight her way past him.
Unfortunately, my shaky legs wouldn’t allow me to reach her in time and she blew past me with her focus firmly set on her brother. Octavia barged past him and crouched to discover what he had carried back to camp. Shuffling closer, I still hadn’t reached them and hoped that I would not have to mitigate an argument in my current state.
"There was nothing I could do." Bellamy stated in a regretful manner, a vulnerability in his expression that I hadn’t witnessed before and my stomach lurched at his words.
"Don’t."
Octavia's voice was firm as she snapped at him and the hurt in her tone confirmed my fears. As I crept closer, I noticed tears running down her cheeks and knew immediately who had been lost. Her hands trembled slightly as she covered Atom’s face that was severely burned from the acid and though I wanted to wrap my arms around her, I respected her space to allow her to say goodbye,
Bellamy pleaded with her to listen as she straightened up, but she simply stormed past him despite his attempts to catch her and it was clear that she hadn’t even noticed me in her heartbreak. I slowly began to follow her when Murphy passed me and I paused on the spot, feeling conflicted between comforting my best friend and defending against a kill order on Jasper.
After the traumatic events of the day, I hoped that Bellamy would be reasonable enough to turn Murphy down, but he’d proven himself to be unpredictable thus far and I remained rooted to the spot with anxiety. The sound of Bellamy sniffing as if he were holding back tears surprised me and I listened eagerly to their hushed conversation.
“Lose anyone here?” He enquired in his usual authoritative manner that masked the upset that seemed obvious to me and I wondered if anyone else had noticed it.
"No."
Murphy's answer was unnervingly cold and I sensed a hint of disappointment beneath it. I felt myself shudder at his tone, uncomfortable with the implication that he would have enjoyed murdering Jasper.
"Jasper?" Bellamy nodded to the dropship as he spoke and I waited for the answer with a tension in my gut.
"Still breathing. Barely. I tried to take him out, but your psycho little sister-"
Murphy's words caused me to turn on the spot to lunge at him, but wasn't able to grab him in time, instead stumbling from my continued weakness. Recovering back into a standing position took me a few moments, but as I reoriented myself, I could hear the sounds of a struggle.
Once I straightened up and my vision cleared, I realised that Bellamy was holding Murphy by his jacket, his fists balled tightly enough around the fabric for his knuckles to turn white.
"My what?!" He growled as he held Murphy's face intimidatingly close to his. "My what?!" He repeated his question with his teeth bared in fury as he spoke and for the first time since we'd met, I found myself respecting him.
Reflected in him was the same veracity that I was unable to control whenever anyone treated Octavia in a manner that I was uncomfortable with and for the first time, I felt as if we shared something more than simply our care for our. Afterall, if he possessed this level of protective anger for his sister, it showed that he was capable of putting someone else’s needs first and it gave me hope that there was more to him than the façade he currently displayed.
"Your little sister." Murphy answered calmly as pushed Bellamy away from him, but the reaction seemed to be caused by frustration, rather than the arrogant rebellion that he normally displayed.
This was the first time that I’d seen Murphy behave in such a manner to threats and it was deeply interesting to me that Bellamy was able to accomplish something that no guards or authority of any kind had seemed to be able to do on the Ark. It gave me valuable insight into his leadership and I began to wonder if their alliance was based on fear rather than camaraderie.
"Yeah! That's right. My little sister." Bellamy growled as he closed back into Murphy’s space, using his slightly taller posture to stare down at him with intensity.
"Got anything else you want to say about her?" He offered in a threatening voice and I felt myself smiling at our newfound similarity.
Murphy was clearly immensely uncomfortable and I realised that I had never seen him this intimidated before, even with Pike. The power balance was obvious now and this confirmed that Bellamy was the key to peace within the camp.
"Nothing. Sorry." Murphy muttered nervously and I quietly scoffed under my breath as he cowered beneath the larger man.
Bellamy stared at him for a few moments longer, breathing deeply before stepping back.
"Get him out of here." He pointed to Atom's body without glancing back at it, as if he couldn’t bear to witness it again and his voice broke as he spoke.
The level of emotion that radiated from him shocked me, before I was distracted by a few members of his usual group crowding around Atom to move him. Bellamy turned back to flash Murphy one final warning glare, before he stormed out of camp.
I crossed my arms as I observed Murphy and flinched when he threw a dagger into a nearby tree. Though he was known to lash out, even in the Skybox, I made a mental note to keep a close eye on his rising anger issues before they caused any further problems in our camp.
Stumbling into the trees, I decided to follow Bellamy to discuss my concerns whilst he was in a reasonable state of mind and it wasn’t long before the trembling of my legs became a challenge. My vision grew steadily more blurred until I could hardly make out where I was going and though I reached out to lean against a tree for balance, I realised too late that I had misjudged its position.
Moments before I hit the ground, I was caught by a large figure who assisted in returning me to a standing position. I clung to them as I reoriented myself, waiting for the spinning to cease so that I could thank them and even though the haze of my sight, I could recognise Bellamy’s scruffy hair and freckles.
"What are you doing out here?" He enquired with confusion and I noticed that he didn't immediately remove his grip on me.
My mind struggled to catch up to the events that had just passed and as I managed to comprehend that he had caught me, I couldn’t find anything to say. As sense returned to me, I realised that I was still holding his arms with desperation and quickly broke all contact.
"Looking for you." I replied casually in a poor attempt to downplay the situation and I stepped back to create space between us when my knees buckled.
Bellamy caught my weight for a second time and though I had intended to distance myself, he now threaded an arm around my waist to keep me upright. With his help, I shuffled over to a nearby tree stump and I was surprised at how delicate his movements were as he lowered me into a seated position.
"You look awful." He stated with a tone of concern, but I couldn't help smiling at his choice of words.
There was a similarity with Octavia as he scrutinised me, his eyes scanning me for any visible injuries that might need treatment and I avoided meeting his eyes, feeling immensely self conscious under his examination. The longer that he stared at me, the more awkward I became and I was determined to shift his focus away from me as quickly as possible.
"That's utterly charming of you to say." I drawled sarcastically and for a moment, a small smile seemed to break his expression. It felt strange to share humour with him and the relaxed atmosphere between us was somewhat jarring after our history of arguments.
"I'm fine. Just a little shaky." I sighed as he raised his brows at me expectantly and seemed unconvinced by my answer, crossing his arms at me.
"When did you last eat?" He investigated, thinning his eyes at me in a suspicious manner and I rolled my eyes at the question which felt as if it had an ulterior motive.
"I said that I'm fine, Bellamy. I've been foraging in the woods. I can take care of myself." I stated firmly.
Food was an especially sensitive topic between us and I couldn’t help feeling defensive. Mostly, I was frightened as I began to feel so unwell that I would be likely to accept any terms for a meal and feared that he would seize the opportunity to exploit my vulnerability. Though I was completely exhausted, I battled to keep my guard up against whatever tactic he attempted next.
"I know that I haven't made it easy for you to accept anything from me." He sighed regretfully as he took a seat beside me and kept his gaze trained on his feet. "You're right. I need to lead. Not just with my words, with my actions too."
Something was different about him tonight. In every past interaction between us, his charming attitude and arrogant answers blocked any real conversation and in this moment, that sensation was missing.
Bellamy leaned forward with his arms resting on his knees and ran a hand through his hair in a gesture of stress. Though I still suspected that this might be a well planned trap, I felt my internal walls slightly lowering as I considered him.
"I must confess, hearing you admit that I'm right does make me feel better." I spoke with a light, comical tone and he flashed a cheeky smirk in my direction.
It was the closest thing to a genuine smile that I’d seen on him since we met and though I wasn’t sure how he had convinced it out of me, it seemed that my humorous personality had decided to reveal itself to him.
"Where's this coming from?" I asked as I offered him the opportunity to explain himself and he sighed, staring out into the words.
His expression was more serious than I’d seen before and it seemed as if he were considering whether he could trust me. I couldn’t tell why, but there was a strong ache within me that urged me to support him and to be the person who offered to listen.
Though I knew that sharing my concerns first would create a more even atmosphere between us, I couldn’t bring myself to trust him enough to display any vulnerability and instead, allowed him the time to decide for himself.
"We lost Atom in the fog. I couldn't save him." He confessed, seeming as if he could no longer hold the thoughts inside and he kept his gaze focused on the trees as he spoke.
I sighed as my attention shifted to the ground, inspecting my boots as a distraction from the waves of emotion that radiated off him.
"I know." I muttered in a low voice and we fell back into silence.
It was strange to remain so quiet in response to a topic as devastating as this, but my deeply ingrained behaviour to protect myself kept me from offering any advice until I knew that he wouldn’t throw it back in my face. In direct contradiction to my generally honest attitude, I was afraid to open myself up to anyone with the power to truly hurt me and though a part of me longed to lighten the tension, I chewed my lip as I awaited a display of trust from him.
"I failed him."
Bellamy's words cut through the atmosphere between us and his voice with emotion cracked as he spoke. The hurt poured from him and for the first time, it felt as if he were allowing me to see the real him. It surprised that he had chosen to be vulnerable first and I sighed as I prepared myself to return the gesture.
"No, Bellamy. You didn't." I replied sternly and he turned to face me with tears in his eyes. My breath hitched for a moment at the raw emotion in his face and I felt my heartbeat quicken. "It came out of nowhere. It was fast and deadly." I asserted as I provided the unbiased facts that I knew he would not be able to acknowledge through his own guilt.
"You didn't lose anyone here." He muttered as he returned his gaze to the ground and I noticed he was balling his fists in an unconscious act of aggression.
Though his reaction still felt controlled, I could only imagine how severely he was berating himself internally and I sympathised with his pain. Considering our differences in circumstances, I attempted to present them in a way that might lighten the impact of the day's events for him.
"We were standing outside the perfect shelter; you were out in the wilderness. You can't compare the situations. You're being unfair to yourself." I spoke firmly and surprised myself at my own determination to prevent him from blaming himself.
My words were honest and I absolutely believed that he wasn’t at fault for Atom’s death, but defending him was a diversion that I hadn’t expected. Silence fell between us, but unlike any other time, it wasn’t uncomfortable, or tense. If anything, it was easy and I felt content simply being there for him whilst he remained deep in thought.
"I couldn't finish him." He knotted his hands together and stared straight down at the ground when he finally spoke again.
The honesty of this statement left me stunned and I took a sharp breath in response. Until this moment, I hadn’t realised the brutality of Atom’s death and as I considered this new information, I shared in the weight of his confession.
"The fog didn't kill him?" I enquired gently, with an overbearing guilt for even asking him to relive the traumatising situation.
Bellamy shook his head, but continued to avoid even glancing in my direction. It was understandable that he couldn't face me as he recounted the experience and I continued to feel awestruck that he was even discussing this with me at all.
"He begged me to end it and I-I couldn't do it. After all my threats with Jasper, after lecturing Clarke about not being able to make the tough decisions, I had to rely on her to do it." He revealed in barely more than a whisper and I sighed as I carefully considered my response.
It was obvious that every word he spoke was something that he needed to share, to release from his soul. I completely understood the sense that he was unable to live up to his words. My earlier assertion that I was the only member of camp with any wisdom to offer replayed in my mind, yet I struggled to produce any advice of value.
For a moment, I reflected on the lessons that my father had passed on to me and knew that they were the sole reason that I was able to maintain focus on matters of survival. It would be difficult to summarise these concepts into something brief and easy to absorb, but I knew that they were at least a few points that might be able to bring him some peace.
"It's no simple thing to take a life, not even in mercy. Sometimes, the person who has the instincts to make the right choice and the person who is able to act on those choices are different. There's no shame in that." I advised gently whilst he peeked up at me, his face contorted by a vile mixture of torment and regret and my heart ached for him.
"I'm their leader. They need to be able to rely on me. I have to act on my choices." His words were firm and defensive, but not unreasonable.
"Next time, you will." I answered confidently, not expecting to believe my words so strongly.
His response made it painfully clear that he had been more affected by my earlier verbal attacks than I first believed, as he revealed an awareness of his responsibility as a leader that had been absent before. I sighed, feeling guilty for my harsh approach and attempted to build him back up somewhat.
"None of us expected to have to make these choices. We’re not trained for this. It will take time to adjust. Of course you're going to make mistakes, but you'll learn from them. Just start honing those instincts. They'll lead you right." I smiled reassuringly at him as I repeated the advice that I had often given Octavia with a feeling of nostalgia.
The way that he viewed me with an expression of absolute wonder shocked me to my core and I broke out eye contact with an uncomfortable shuffle. He brought his hands to his face and rubbed at his tired eyes, then rose to his feet.
"We'd better get back." He offered as he attempted to force his voice to return to it's normal, matter of fact tone, but I could still sense the anguish behind his words.
"I'm going hunting again tomorrow. Whatever I catch, you'll get the first serving." He offered, before noticing my hesitant expression and sighing regretfully, as he realised that I was still uncertain of his intentions. "Don't worry. I don't want anything from you in exchange. Just consider it a thank you for this." He held his hand out to me and although I would have preferred not to touch him again in such a short encounter, I allowed him to help me to my feet.
Once standing, I felt more stable and broke off from him to wander back to the dropship alone, whilst he returned to leading. By the time that I managed to struggle up the ladder to the top floor, the space seemed quiet and only Octavia, Monty and Finn were sitting in the room.
They were passing around a glass bottle and I snatched it to take a long swig without thinking. The thick alcohol burned down my throat into my stomach sickeningly and I coughed lightly in disgust. I'd never drank alcohol before and in the past, I hadn’t ever trusted myself to handle it. The taste was actually worse than I’d imagined, so I quickly handed the bottle back to Monty with a grimace.
"What was that?" Octavia gasped in amazement and I dropped myself down at her side. Due to her awareness of my past avoidance of alcohol, she thinned her eyes at me suspiciously and I squirmed under her scrutiny.
"Did something happen?" She hinted, causing Bellamy's tormented face to pop into my mind and I felt my cheeks flushing instantly at the memory. After our conversation, I’d needed the drink and honestly still felt confused as to how it had happened. With a shudder, I quickly pushed the thought away and tried to avoid Octavia's interested expression.
"Nothing. It's been a hell of a day is all." I grumbled, turning away from her to cover my blush.
The bottle made its way around the group who each hissed and just as it reached Finn, a voice caught us all by surprise.
"Can I - uh - get a hit of that?" Jasper asked faintly and his simple question caused a wave of excitement to pass through the previously tired group.
"Jasper!" Monty exclaimed, immediately jumping to his feet and we all followed closely behind to surround him.
Finn rushed forward to grab the water canister for him and Monty hopped straight on to the bottom of the bed, practically crouched over his friend in his elation.
"Let's start with the soft stuff." Finn stressed as he held the canister to Jaspers mouth so that he could drink.
Octavia and I held hands and smiled at each other, observing the scene from his bedside. Internally I thanked every force that I could name for allowing him another chance at life. Once Jasper was done drinking, Finn helped lay him back down.
"Welcome back, buddy." He chirped, prompting us all to share words of encouragement and celebration.
Jasper struggled to raise his hand and for a moment I worried that he was reaching for something, but Monty grabbed it in what seemed to be a meaningful gesture for them. I realised that they were simply reconnecting and smiled warmly at the two of them, feeling my heart swell with appreciation. Their reunion gave me my first taste of true hope since we landed and I prayed that it was a sign of a turning tide.
"Was that a dream, or did I get speared?" Jasper cracked in his usual playful manner and I couldn't stifle a snort of laughter, mixed with a subtle tear of joy.
"You'll have a very impressive scar to prove it."
Clarke announced, causing me to startle as she crept into the room and just like the rest of us, she was beaming at Jasper.
"My saviour!" He cheered as enthusiastically as he could manage in his condition and Clarke crouched by his side, her smile fading to disbelief as she viewed him.
"Thank you. For not dying." She spoke gently and with a tone of absolute wonder and I knew that we all shared the same sense of appreciation for our cheerful miracle. "I don't think I could have taken that today."
"Well, I'll try not to die tomorrow too, if that's cool." Jasper replied.
Relief flooded me to find that his wit and attitude remained, and I was pleased to find that all of the suffering he’d endured over the past few days hadn’t damaged his sense of humour. Everyone around me chuckled together and as I surveyed them, I raised that it was the first time that I’d seen even a hint smile in them since the river.
Octavia leaned over to pat his leg, squeezing as if she needed to confirm that he was real and Jasper glanced over in a manner that indicated he had only just noticed her.
"Oh, hello!" He crooned in a tone that completely exposed his delight at her presence.
True, hearty laughter carried in the group at his excitement, most noticeably in Octavia and she smiled wider than I'd ever seen before.
After a few small, contented groans Jasper passed back into sleep and we all simply took a moment to smile at each other, each basking in our relief. Without a single word shared between us, I knew that tonight would be the first time we slept properly since our bumpy arrival here.
