Ship Stats for Azula (Updated)

Back in September, taking inspiration from @phantomstatistician I did an in depth survey on who Azula is shipped with on AO3. It was all based on curiosity regarding how Azula ship works have evolved over time. Back then, I said I’d give an update in January, and now that time is finally here.

Here are the finalized 2022 ship stats for Azula.

Methods

On January 1, 2023, I took a survey of works on AO3 for 35 Azula ships from 01/01/2013 to 12/31/2022. This includes ships unintentionally omitted from the previous survey as well as new ships added since September.

This chart is for the totals of the sample surveyed. And the other is a table of the chart’s raw numbers.

Observations

Total sample of works by year

Before 2020, the growth of the sample never exceeded 150 works

2021 and 2020 are the years where the most Azula ship works were added

2022 is on track to be either the third most productive year

Since September, over 100 works were added

2022 saw five new Azula ships added to AO3: Azula/Kyoshi, Azula/Lian the Maker, Azula/Long Feng, Azula/Michi, and Azula/Yaling

Cumulative count by year

in terms of total fic count, tyzula has consistently remained the Azula ship with the most works.

zucest was tied with Tophzula for second place in 2013. Then zucest became the sole holder of second place from 2014 to 2017. In 2018, Sokkla took second and has held onto it since then

Sokkla was in fourth place in 2013, then tied with Tophzula for third. Sokkla became the sole holder of third place from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, when Sokkla took second place, zucest took third place. Zucest held onto third place from 2018 to 2021, but for Azutara took third place for 2022

Annual output by year

In 2020, a majority of Azula ship works were tyzula (54%). This is something had never happened before or since.

Back in September, tyzula’s output by percentage for 2022 appeared to be 29%, but the final result for 2022 was 28%. Either way, that’s the lowest it’s ever been

The Azula ships with the second and third highest output of works for 2022 are Azutara and Zucest

Despite not being shown in the chart, Jetzula’s 2022 output ranks higher than Tophzula, Azuki, Ozula and Jinzula.

Despite Azulaang’s 2022 output by percentage surpassing its 2021 output by percentage, by raw numbers, 2021 was greater (90 works to 2022’s 77 works)

Several ships saw a greater number of works added in 2022 than 2021: Jetzula, Jinzula, Junezula, Azutara, Kueizula, Maizula, Azula/Ursa, Yuezula, Azula/Zirin and zucest

Other observations 

Most years, the annual output of F/F Azula works to M/F Azula works is around 60% F/F to 40% M/F. 2022 continues this tradition

The exceptions are 2015 (72% F/F to 28% M/F), 2017 (52% F/F to 48% M/F) and 2020 (75% F/F and 25% M/F)

idk of it's just me but i don't understand, the atla fandom, from all ships existing would just slander zukka out of nowhere. like mf i just want to see my boys being silly and in love in fanwork, why they need to be so mean lmao

I think it's because for close to 20 years, Kataang and Zutara were reining supreme in ship wars and fandom space. Jetko was the main mlm ship before but it didn't have nearly the same popularity. No other ship could even touch those two and those two continued arguing about what's best for canon.

Now though? Zukka's the second most popular ship on ao3- all of those fics and content showed up in 3 years. And suddenly the Netflix actors are pushing for Zukka practically every interview while actively dissuading Zutara(and hinting strongly at Kataang- thanks Gordon & Kiawentiio going "he/she's my.....family, yeah let's say family *wink* *wink*"). They're getting extremely popular and now fucking Netflix, Entertainment Weekly and Deadline are tagging #zukka in the year of our lord 2024(thank you for your service Dallas Liu, braver than the marines). Popular ships unfortunately get hate, especially queer ships, like just as a baseline regardless of if it's a canonically supported or unsupported ship, if it's "morally correct or incorrect".

This 'crackship' that no one took seriously suddenly feels...like a threat to these people??? Like we can joke about hahaha zukka gayyyy but we all know that's just silly gobbledygook right? (Not saying Zukka should or could be canon, but just the fact that people are seriously considering it as a ship option in fandom makes people act weird)

A lot of the the points made for "why Zukka is bad actually" are so funny though, that my initial irritation is fading and I'm just laughing at it. Some highlights that made me actually lose it:

Zukka is misogynist to Katara because, and I shit you not, they think that we think Katara is homophobic sdjfhbbgvh. I was shook when I discovered this was a thing.

Zukka bad because Klance bad (war flashbacks to Voltron)

"Everyone just wants a gay ship smh the chronically ONLINE FANDOM BRAIN HAS ROTTED THE SANCTITY OF HETEROSEXUAL-[EXPLODES]"

Zuko is a colonizer who's oppressing Sokka by dating him (i have no stats but this sounds like a white person trying very hard to sound like they're super inclusive and understand the plights of the colonized and oppressed. and the best way to do it is shit on a fake ship about lines on a page)

I think people who are Big Mad don't get that we're genuinely just chilling and making silly stuff without thinking too much about what SHOULD happen in canon. Everyone in ATLA fandom takes the show and the fandom far too seriously, like losing a fan discussion is somehow a slight upon their personal morals.

We coasted along without much hate for a good while but the increasing popularity means Zukka as a ship is going to get bashed ;_; I think the best we can do is block and ignore instead of engaging(very hypocritcal of me rn tbh, I'll try to stop).

Hi there! No worries, it's not super personal at all - mainly I'm just tired of the atla fandom at-large, and feeling burned out on it. I split my reply into two sections, so that you can see the reasoning, if that's what you're interested in, or you can see how I did it (as it's a method I recommend as a third option that's neither deleting a work on ao3 nor orphaning it). Why: The latest stuff with kataang week has just solidified my feeling burnt out and alienated from the atla fandom at large. With the live action, and the influx of fans, it feels like the fandom is spinning its wheels in the same attitudes I saw in 2020 - ship wars, accusative toxicity of the "I saw Goody Proctor with the devil!" type, and a general lack of maturity in the responses and discussion of the canon. The actions surrounding the kataang week drama have been filled with bad-faith unwillingness to accept responsibility for actions which have resulted in a ton of harassment, and accusations of gatekeeping flying around, so I wanted to create some distance for myself. It's not an environment I want to engage with any longer. At the same time however, I was already considering this move to just allow myself a fresh-er start in writing other things that I feel passionate about. While I know you're asking from a genuine place, I want it out there in writing that the latest events were just the straw that broke the camel's back on a move that I've been considering for a while. How: Now, the works are mystery and unable to be read because they've been put in a collection type that's typically used for exchanges - the label is "unrevealed" and it's in collection settings, along with the little box that marks the works in the collection as anonymous (which hides the works from your works list on your profile but not your stats page). I didn't want to delete my works, since this is just about me wanting to be distanced from the fandom for a while, and I didn't want to orphan anything either, since I still like a lot of what I've written for the fandom. I didn't hide (I'm pretty sure), any works that I wrote with the intent of being a gift for someone else, or anything f/f that I wrote. Doing it this way prevented it from breaking any bookmarks (though they obviously show up at the moment as "mystery work by anon"), and assuming the site doesn't glitch, that will be restored when I take the works out of the collection. In the time before that happens, if you, or anyone else wants to read a particular work - shoot me a dm or ask off anon and I'll either pull it out of the collection for a little while, or I'd be happy to directly send a copy of the downloaded fic. I don't want to "punish" or upset anyone who enjoys my work, but I need a little space at the moment.

AO3 Year in Review

Saw a bunch of people doing this so thought I would too. Here we go (info based the ao3 stats page):

Big changes: I archive locked my fics.

I switched to mainly writing One Piece fics.

Across the board all my numbers are down and there are three reasons. One going full time to work and pinching a nerve, this fall I had a month where I didn't post anything at all. Two, anime fandom - anime and video game fandoms are bad for commenting. Three, I archive locked. That is the biggest. For context in 2022 my kudos were 29,626 and my hits were 306,079. By a combination of all these things I lost about 2/3rds of my numbers.

So do I regret any of it that lead to the changes? NOPE. I mean, okay regret the pinched nerve. But anime fandom has smaller response than witcher yeah, but also getting less hate than I did there. I'm writing more variety of ships which I really enjoy doing. Archive locking has also cut down the bit of hate I did get because 9/10 it was on guest (shout out to the person who had 1 eight year old fic posted telling me how juvenile my writing was and as a writer they would want to know why people didn't finish their work - god bless you ao3 block button).

Right now no intentions of un-archive locking my fics. Because there is no reason to not have an ao3 account. Gives me an extra layer of protection that I like.

Plans for the upcoming year. Write. Remind myself it is okay if it isn't a lot writing in even 15 minute bursts makes me happy so do that. Continue writing One Piece, some ATLA, maybe finish that Dragon Age fic. Who knows? No exchanges or bangs. They take a lot of time and energy I don't have to spare.

I got into a few ATLA rarepairs and started noticing trends over the years in terms of popularity for those ships.

I don't think I have a favorite, but I always prefer to do charts for fandoms I enjoy. I also find great amusement when a chart really takes off for one reason or another. I've never seen an episode of Phineas and Ferb in my life, but I love seeing people's enthusiasm for this chart.

Is there a type of stat you’re surprised by people requesting?

I'm not surprised by anything anymore XD Sometimes I'm surprised by the response to charts, especially how heated or vitriolic people can be over fanfiction (emphasis on FICTION) ships.

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 103. (mind you, some of these are crossposted on ff.net, but many of my earlier fics were only ever published there, so I'd say that actual number of fics I've ever written is closer to 200.)

2. What's your total A03 words count? 742.871

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently? Pretty much only SaB (I usually only write for one fandom at a time). Over the course of my fic career? I've written for maybe about a dozen, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avatar: the Last Airbender being maybe the most prominent ones.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Terrible, Beautiful, Unsaid Things (2258), Through Wide, Grey Eyes (1381), The First Star in the Black Velvet Night (1182), A Little Star in the Night (1103), and The Unabridged and Annotated Diary of Mrs. Alina Morozova (874).

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? On AO3, rarely - since the system counts your replies as a comment, inflating the numbers, it feels almost like cheating/messing with the stats, so basically I only ever reply if I get a direct question there. But I always respond here, my askbox is open, and I'm semi-present on twitter and blue sky.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Not gonna give actual titles here (I'd have to look them up), but I have used writing as a therapy tool to process losing people close to me. A family friend (almost like an uncle to me) who died suddenly in 2008, and my grandma, after a couple of months long illness, in 2015. Those two stories are, to me, at least, the angstiest things I've ever written.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Depends whom you ask, I think? :D But my fics usually have a happy ending.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really. I've recieved hate personally for the couples I ship, and some... puzzling comments over the years. (One I remember clearly for some reason: I wrote a two-parter story about (mostly) Azula post-atla, playing with her fractured mind, going into a tentative improvement. There was an early scene where she basically hallucinated her childhood and saw Zuko as the younger sibling - her unconscious desire to shift the power relations. Then of course I had a reader who felt the need to school me on how I don't know the canon well enough, because Zuko is the older sibling.)

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? I do, the very vanilla kind (one guy, one chick, nothing too kinky), but in a sensual, kinda poetic way (I hope)

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Once (I mean: back in high school) I started writing a Harry Potter/Wicked crossover. Thankfully, it never saw the light of day (it was also written in Hungarian, if I remember well). I think that might have been the only crossover I've ever written.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I've gotten some permission requests for translations over the years, but I've never seen any of the finished products.

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? Kinda? I once wrote a one-shot with a steamy-leaning ending, and @abedsmessedupmeta wrote a smutty continuation for it. Does that count?

14. What's your all-time favourite ship? Depends when you ask...

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? BWHAHAHA. All of them (no, I'll finish them, really). Next question, please...

16. What are your writing strengths? I'd like to say emotional descriptions, dialogue, and humor. And apparently smut?

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Writing complex movement (e.g. fight scenes), longer narratives

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? It's a tricky thing, because you have to integrate it into the text seamlessly, in a way that doesn't break the rhythm of the text. A Discovery of Witches does a pretty good job of it, I think. Also, bilingual (poliglot) characters habitually using certain words from their native language, especially if they are well-integrated in fandom (see: Russian terms of endearment for Aleksander) can be a handy stylistic tool.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter. I was 12, didn't speak English well enough yet, and it was basically the only fandom with proper fanfic presence in Hungarian. A real gateway drug.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written? I wanna say Terrible, Beautiful, Unsaid Things, because while I honestly think that it turned out really well, it was my big comeback after about 1,5 years of inactivity, and I never dared to hope that it would become such a hit.

Why would people who seemingly had no issues with the ship and even preferred it at one point be insecure? What do they gain from going against the most popular ship or turning away from something that they once loved? A means to be a contrarian? Clearly the issue itself is on the shippers’ fandom behavior and their “incredible, logical” takes, which a simple ATLA rewatch could debunk. Most “anti zutaras” would have no problems with the ship if 90% of the takes aren’t some of the most braindead, media illiterate arguments ever presented. You guys have spent the last decade creating an extremely hostile fandom experience for anyone who has differing opinions and preferences on the ship. Now that you guys finally realize that your actions have consequences and a lot of people no longer tolerate your “logical and sound” (read: braindead) takes, you’re turning it into an argument of insecurity when the problem has always been your fandom. I take it that there’s been a rise in more and more people calling out bad Zutara logic, more and more people not mindlessly agreeing with you lot, in addition to a drop in the ship’s popularity (the stats don’t lie), and you have no idea how to handle that. FYI - Zutara “antis” are used to Zutara being the most popular ship. But I don’t think Zutara shippers are used to the ship and the shippers NOT reigning superior across fandom spaces.

Honestly, my romantic ships have to be the other phantom thieves with Joker (minus Futaba cause I like them better as siblings, and also minus Morgana for obvious reasons). Idk I just like the dynamic that Joker has with the others.

Joker/Akechi. Look, I found the two of them neat in P5 and then Royal came along with giving Akechi an actual social rank and I really found them neat. But then fucking Robbie Daymond and Xander Mobus had to make a song together as the characters. Enemies to Frenemies (reluctant allies really) to Lovers really hits with them

Sojiro/Wakaba, just listening to when Sojiro would talk about Wakaba and then seeing the alternative ending with Royal and how Sojiro is there... I absolutely loved them.

3 favorite moments in canon:

Saving Futaba and her learning the truth (honestly her whole arc) was just so amazing. It was so heartbreaking, but so satisfying to be able to help her.

The alternative ending for Royal is a favorite because it's unbelievably bittersweet. Like you should feel happy when you see it. You should think that it's the right choice because everyone got their happy ending, but it's just so heartwrenching and I love it so so much (I cry every damn time I see it).

Every Persona awakening was just amazing to watch. Oh my god and Akechi's "second" persona reveal? It's so amazing and I wish I could watch it all again like I've never seen it before because damn it was so cool.

3 favorite headcanons:

Yusuke ended up taking interest once when Ann and Haru were showing Makoto and Futaba how to paint their nails. Yusuke stated that the girls could do better and then gave them beautiful nail art (he did get a bit thrown off when Futaba wanted nails specific to the Kamen Riders, but he did it).

Ryuji, Mishima, and Joker all just crowded around that gatcha machine in Akihabara or in the Arcade trying to get specific figures and dolls. Mishima and Ryuji taking turns and failing and then Joker, with max stats being smug because obviously he can do it and then he fails too. They eventually suck up their pride and beg Shinya to win them the Jack Frost doll.

Ann visiting Shiho for regular meet ups and telling her all about the new friends she made. Sometimes Ann brings mini paintings that Yusuke drew or anime character stickers that Futaba had extras for. Shiho hasn't met these people, but Ann talks highly about Shiho to them so they all want to give the girl little presents. It is very exciting when Shiho is finally introduced to Ann's new friends. Shiho is very proud of Ann for the happiness she managed to find.

3 least favorite things about it:

Oh fucking boy I hated all the crap Ryuji got. He's such a good best friend, he sacrificed his life! And instead of the "Oh my god, I'm so happy you're okay!" that he deserved, he was pummeled for comedic effect?? Fuck you Atlas.

Again, with Ryuji, specifically with how he was treated by Morgana throughout the entire game. And then when Ryuji stood up for himself, Morgana was suddenly the victim?? Haru didn't even get her own spotlight because of this little shit.

And hey, another least favorite that ties in with the others. Fucking Haru. She was in her dad's goddamn palace. She was trying to fix things so she could have her dad back. It should've been emotional and it should've made us attached and love Haru. But honestly, I was mostly frustrated with the palace and dealing with Morgana that when Haru's dad died it was just an "Oh no! Anyway..." moment where I moved on so quickly. Thank god for Strikers helping me actually appreciate Haru more.

By now, I’ve done in depth ship stat surveys for several ATLA characters. While it would’ve been nice to do one for every major character, I thought of another way to wrap this series of posts: figuring out which ATLA ships added the most works to AO3 in 2022.

Anyone who's seen many of my Elite: Dangerous posts should be familiar with the Wan Shi Tong, my Asp Scout with the Synth paintjob I mostly use for Thargoid stuff. It got that name because it was originally supposed to be a lore hunting ship, before the Oracle attacks prompted me to refit it for Thargoid interactions. The spirit Wan Shi Tong being a character from Avatar: The Last Airbender who takes the form of a giant black owl and gathers all the knowledge in the world into a vast library. Well fast forward several years from the 'Tong's creation and now my best friend, well familiar with my aliens/lore ship, wants to make one of his own. I help him plan the build. We settle on making it an Orca for stats reasons. He suggests he could name it the Appa to play off of the ATLA naming scheme. I take a look at the Orca and some of its better-looking paintjobs... and then it hits me. The Hei Bai. The black-and-white spirit Hei Bai, often appearing as a giant panda, is the perfect fit for the name; my friend agrees. Not long after this, Maelstrom Taranis arrived. A couple of experimental trips into the cloud made it painfully apparent how ill-equipped for investigating these things the Wan Shi Tong was, even with adjusted outfitting. I needed a new ship. One purpose-built to withstand the hostile conditions around these Maelstroms... I remembered the plans for the still unbuilt Hei Bai... I stole the idea of using an Orca... Introducing: the Koh. Koh the Face-Stealer.

I just hit my 10,000th bookmark on Pinboard, which feels like a weirdly big milestone! I've been bookmarking and tagging fic formally since 2006, but there are also ~700 bookmarks in there from 2003-2006, when I kept them in elaborate Internet Explorer folders. I started bookmarking vids in 2014, which is why the intervals between thousands markers get shorter at that point (even moreso once I started vidding and going to vidding conventions in 2020).

10,000 (10/20/24): Community, by AgentStannerShipper (Dimension 20, Evan Kelmp & Sam Black). I've been overwhelmingly reading 9-1-1 fic this year, but I'm extremely invested in the new season of MisMag so that's been my focus this month.

9,000 (7/9/23): Starlight, by pigflight (Dimension 20, Ayda Aguefort/Figueroth Faeth). I was actually reading a ton of D20 fic last summer because I'd just finished FHSY and felt like I could finally dive in without fear of spoilers.

8,000 (12/30/21): Catspaw, by greenfionn (Taskmaster RPF, Greg Davies/Alex Horne). Yuletide fic! 15% of my fic bookmarks are from Yuletide.

7,000 (12/25/19): Til Tomorrow's Show, by kikitheslayer (American Vandal, Sam Ecklund/Peter Maldonado). More Yuletide fic! The fandom starts with A and this was bookmarked on Christmas Day, so probably one of the first things I read that season.

6,000 (11/5/17): Here's to Retirement, by Jedi Buttercup (The Mummy, Ardeth Bay/Evelyn Carnahan/Rick O'Connell). No real notes here but The Mummy is great and I'm glad at least one of these random links was for a poly ship?

5,000 (10/26/15): Kiss on the ear, by queenklu (due South, Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski). There has not been a year in 21 years of bookmarking that I have not read and bookmarked at least one due South fanfic. The only other fandom that is true of is Star Trek! (Sports Night is so close. What happened, 2015?)

4,000 (3/6/14): The Finest Feeling, by Bow (Avatar, Iroh & Zuko). I started tracking my fic bookmarking in a spreadsheet this year, including keeping stats on what category the fics were, so I read a LOT more gen and poly and het than I previously had because observer effect. I was also rewatching AtLA at the time as I worked my way through Korra!

3,000 (7/15/11): The Deepest Secret Nobody Knows, by lovingthevolume (Sherlock, Sherlock/Sally & John/Sherlock). This is a broken link now but if I RECALL the premise was that Sherlock had gotten Sally pregnant and was an absentee dad and that's why she hated him so much, as if she needed a reason.

2,000 (5/19/09): Graven Image, by irrelevant (AOS/TOS, James Kirk/Spock). I was not in nu!Trek fandom but obviously the movie's release meant a major TOS fic reading revival for me.

1,000 (12/10/06): Mofo, Last of the Valar, by Mercuria Stardust (Lord of the Rings, crack ficlet). This ISN'T a broken link, but I won't blow up my high school friend's spot that way for this incredibly silly concept that was definitely at least 50% my fault. This was posted to LJ when I was in my first year of college and had been using (at the time) Delicious to track my bookmarks for 2 months.

1 (??/??/??): A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Strip Club, by DeadGrrl (Askewniverse, Jay/Silent Bob). The first bookmark on my account, read sometime in 2003-2005 and posted first because Askewniverse was the first alphabetically in my Internet Explorer bookmarks folders.

LOL there was a few. Some of them were just ones I threw together as a test when the Support system first came out.

For characters from Awakening/Fates, I actually tried my best to stick with the pairs I made in their official game (SilasxHinoka, OrochixRyoma, RinkahxKaze, RobinxPriam, BennyxEffie but it was Valentine’s Effie). But there’s a few I had:

Logan Rae Hayes was born on October 31st to unknown parents. She is the only surviving member of the Night Shade Pack out of Salt Lake City, UH – the night she was born a band of hunters ran rampant through their town killing anyone who breathed, if you were a werewolf or human, they didn’t care. Logan was found by a hunters wife who didn’t agree with the genocide, newborn Logan had been hidden under a floorboard only a couple feet from her dead mothers body. Before anyone noticed the woman took Logan and ran, finding an orphanage to drop her off – unbeknownst to anyone that the baby they would find on the doorstep would be a werewolf.

Spending majority of her life on the streets and in dirty orphanages that only cared about the money the kids brought in, Logan was fueled by pain and rage. Never knowing who she was or where she came from took it’s toll on her during her adolescences, never getting close to others, or spending more than a week in the same place. The constant abuse endured from the adults at the shelter would leave scars along her body, a significant one down her back after being pushed into the burning fireplace. That was the night she shifted for the first time, she was consumed by the pain and adrenaline that when she came to her feet she snapped the necks of two boys who unfortunately were nearby when the attack happened. Her form was painful to take but her silver and blue coat with greyish blue eyes was the comfort and security she had always needed.

Logan would spend majority of her young adult years in her wolf form, traveling the mountains – jumping from pack to pack when she was welcomed to stay. She never stuck around longer than a few months (if that), always wary of attachment or abandonment. While staying with packs, Logan would offer her assistance to the children as she always had a soft spot for kids – felt an obligation to their safety and security. This feeling lead to her desire to become a pediatric nurse, to care of the kids and ensure that whenever necessary she was there for them. The third person she killed was not an accident, the moon was full and senses were heightened when she heard the man attacking his wife and children, it didn’t take but seconds to shift and run to the scene where she would drag the man by his throat into nearby woods and maul him into nothing. She left town the next morning when she woke in a pool of blood, lips coated in thick wet liquid, she felt no remorse.

At twenty-one Logan met Nicholas when she came across the Crimson Shadow pack, the first time she folded and allowed someone into her life, they were in love – it was their fate. Spending all of their time together, it was the first time she had felt genuine happiness, like she no longer had to run, like she had a home. It was two years later they got married, she found her family and where she belonged, she owed it all to Nicholas and his family. A year into their marriage Nicholas died during a blood moon, trying to protect a newly turned wolf who had run away from their grounds when a family of hunters attacked them, in order to protect the child he diverted their attention ultimately leading to his death. Logan was the one to find his body  which in turn made her shut down once again, she stayed with his family and the Crimson Shadow pack long enough to watch his funeral, she left in the middle of the night the next day – no goodbyes, she wasn’t going to suffer anymore loss.
