So... I have two httyd fic WIPs - as in I've already written some for both, even I'm making progress with the pace of a rheumatic slug. Both were conceived as relatively short one-shots, maybe like 3K words each, but, but I was swimming today, and that's over an hour in water alone with my thoughts and I had this idea of scrapping act two of one of them and expand the story, and this new idea would mean that the story would be over twice as long, but I like the general shape of it, the inspirations and OCs involved and, like... it just sounds like fun.

NOW IF ONLY MY DAMNED WRITER'S BLOCK WOULD SURRENDER AT LAST.

His plate clattered on the table as Gobber sat with a groan, burying his face in his remaining palm for a moment instead of getting started on his breakfast—or lunch. Or dinner. Or whatever. Honestly, he wasn't even sure what time of day it was anymore. It'd been (probably) a little over a day since he'd been back from the battle at the nest, and he hadn't had more than a wink of sleep since before they sailed out—the bone-deep exhaustion was making even his missing limbs lead-heavy.
