it’s interesting that the time dive has moments where it kinda fades in the background.
aeolus, tiresias, and eurylochus’ voices are dulled and weak in the music compared to poseidon, circe, the crew in different beast, scylla, even odysseus himself.
it’s almost as though the quieter memories are things odysseus hadn’t focused more on, as the louder ones were acts of ruthlessness that haunt odysseus. athena was there in the cyclops’s cave, she knew what odysseus lost that day.
but what she didn’t know that the god of tides, a witch in an island paradise, a monster of a former woman, and her own champion committed actions he holds himself accountable for, and that are so sharp in his memory even now that they’re the loudest as she travels back

Mr. Jalapeños dropped a tease of Wisdom Saga in his new video explaining narratives. And ATHENA'S TIME DIVE AHHHHHHHHHH
In the Time Dive, I hear:
Aelous's Island Theme (which happens at the end of Storm AND at the start of Keep Your Friends Close. You basically summarized over half of Ocean saga in one melody string!!!!! JAY YOU ARE A GENIUS!)
Ruthlessness
Circe's motif but in Done For's style and beat (which then easily summarizes ALL of Circe Saga)
No Longer You
The interesting thing will be if the melody will keep continuing after No Longer You, to include Monster, and the rest of Thunder Saga. Will Thunder Saga just have one melody like Circe Saga? If yes, my bet is the climax of Thunder Bringer when we also hear Suffering. It would track given Jay pulling the Aeolus Island melody. There was lots of discussion on this on Discord (all Winions just eating up the crumbs like starving animals. LMAO) Given Jorge's explanation about narrative in this video, it truly suggests a huge shift and Wisdom Saga is told from the perspective of Telemachus and then Athena. INCLUDING LOVE IN PARADISE.
The first 3 songs are Telemachus's narrative. This is supported by Telemachus's Lullaby playing at the end of Thunder Bringer, providing a transition of perspective. (Thanks to Solago on Discord reminding me. I know about the lullaby, just didn't put it 2 to 2 for this. lol)
The 3rd song "We'll Be Fine" is when Telemachus talks to Athena, helping her decision to help Ody, and the narrative switches to Athena.
We get Love in Paradise as part of Athena's Time Dive into Ody's memory, so we can see this snippet hear at the start of Love in Paradise, and we get a Time Dive out at the end as well, which will then take us to God Games.
I think my theory is supported by how we get Athena's Quick Thought sound effects also the start of Warrior of the Mind to mark the end of Quick Though, and the start of Quick Thought at the end of Remember Them to get Ody to kill Polyphemus, and the continue of that Quick Thought into My Goodbye, exiting at the end of My Goodbye. It follows a rule of needing to happen twice for going in and coming out of it.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR WISDOM SAGA! ATHENA MY LOVE WE ARE SO BACK!

Just finished SoJ.... man I miss when Ace Attorney was good.
#its just like... man. this case was almost extremely enjoyable. the case logic was good the mystery was satisfying#there was even the dhurke twist that swept the rug out from under me in quite an enjoyable way#i managed to figure out all the other twists heading into the final case but we'll be generous and call it good forshadowing#but i just feel like so many of these narrative beats feel hollow bc nahyuta is so thoroughly unlikable and his switch feels unearned to me#and then dont get me started on the crappy mocap. it undercuts several moments that should be dramatic or emotional#and man just imagine if we had known any of this about apollo before. how much less stapled on it would feel?#and then the whole theme they point to at the end about students and mentors could have been compelling... but imagine how much more#compelling it would have been if phoenix and apollo werent jockeying for screen time for the past three games and instead apollo actually#got to have something. but no...#but i have to say the thing that really left a sour taste in my mouth was the conversation between Phoenix and Thalassa at the end#if there was EVER a game where Trucy and Apollo's familial ties should have been revealed. it should have been this one.#this game has a whole case that deals again with the Gramarye legacy in a way that feels like its teeing this convo up#not to mention all the stuff about Apollo's family and history it dives into.#this SHOULD have been the game they told them.#but no. instead we get a vauge conversation at the end just to remind the player that no! the developers haven't forgotten!#they arent just ignoring the fact! they're shoving it in our faces and telling us to remember that they're ignoring it#it just left the game on a really poor note for me#especially because i would hope the the writing out of Apollo leaves space for Athena to shine#but if they want to resolve the siblings plot which they are very pointedly reminding us of.. that requires bringing Apollo back#and i would think warrants at least the length of a case to deal with the emotional repercussions#but whatever#man i hope dgs is as good as people say it is cause right now im just pissed at this game.#ace attorney critical#spirit of justice critical

Which Ace Attorney characters can you beat in a fight:
Phoenix: I know he looks like a weakling, but this man has canonically gotten into a fistfight before and the other guy died right after. Even after the death, he was still PISSED. Do not fight Phoenix Wright. Not only would you lose, Phoenix would not stop punching if you went down.
Maya: You can easily win- Maya learned how to fight from anime and it shows. You'd think spirit channeling will help you out, but it takes time and focus, neither of which Maya would have when she's busy eating pavement.
Edgeworth: You could win, but it would not be worth it. He would file charges for assault, and you'd have to deal with Gumshoe hating your ass for the rest of your life. Can you imagine having to explain having Gumshoe as an enemy? That being said, before you take the dive, be sure to ruin his dumb ass cravat. You're doing him a favor.
Gumshoe: I don't think he'd fight back unless he's on the clock, but he absolutely could beat you.
Franziska: 100% my most controversial opinion on this list, but I like your odds. She has a whip, but I doubt she has actual fight experience. Who would fight the daughter on Manfred Von Karma? You, that's who! I also think you'd avoid the legal charges you'd have to deal with from Edgeworth, because Franziska would want a rematch.
Pearl: It'd be tough, but you'd win. Cartoon logic aside, she's eight and wouldn't know any of the classic dirty tricks. Since you have longer arms, I think you could prevent her from doing too much damage. That being said, the fact that it was close at all would make you a laughingstock. Also, Morgan would go all Karen on your ass for fighting Pearl, even if she started it.
Mia: There's no way to sugarcoat this, but you're going down. Mia can and will fight dirty- that magatama would get jammed into your eyes if we're talking a serious fight. Redd White, despite running a blackmail company and looking much stronger than her, opted for a weapon and so should you.
Godot: Out of all the people on this list, I'd want to fight him the least. Hot coffee directly to the dick, and then he'd start bludgeoning. Depending on what point in the timeline, he's been in prison too, so fight experience is a given. Your only hope would be to say something ??? enough to make him decide a battle of words is the better option.
Apollo: His perceive ability would give him an edge in a fight, but he's such a butt-monkey it wouldn't even matter. You're winning this, but like Edgeworth, he's going to get legal about this. He's too poor to afford a good lawyer, so I wouldn't be too worried though.
Kristoph: You can win, but you'd die of a mysterious poison two weeks later. We just don't know what could have happened!
Klavier: You can easily win, but for the rest of your life you're going to be known as the asshole that beat up beloved rockstar, Klavier Gavin. Its social suicide. Just take the dive and maybe destroy his career after if you're vengeful.
Trucy: She absolutely knows how to kick your ass, but she's socially astute enough to know when it is better to take a dive. My gut says that she'll probably let you beat her up, then talk about how her entire family is made of lawyers so you settle it out of court. Even if you win, you lose.
Ema: You have about 50/50 odds, but unlike most people, Ema has no limits. This isn't about pride, its about morbid curiosity. Realistically, this is the second most dangerous fight after Godot, since who knows what chemicals she has on her?
Athena: Simon absolutely taught her how to fight. That being said, she isn't in the right headspace for fighting, and I imagine it would remind her of the UR-1 incident. The fight would be with her past, not with you. That being said, Athena can and will tell everyone present about about why you are so bloodthirsty, which is worse, actually!
Juniper: Mess with Juniper and you get Athena.
Simon: He'd kick your ass, but he'd do it in a way where you're pretty much fine the next morning. He'd be fair about it and not hold grudges. Pretty enjoyable fight experience overall.
The Phantom: easy L, you've signed your death warrant. Even if you somehow win this, you're still dead. This isn't even a fight, this is assisted suicide.
Nahyuta: I know he looks like a twink, but with his background he can and will kick ass. That being said, I think you should fight him anyway because it'd be good for his pent up frustration.
Kay: I think its pretty safe to say you'd lose. She was raised by a cop, and would fight dirty. Still a 50% chance of getting sued by Edgeworth, even though Kay begged him to let it go.
Sebastian: He's a joke character. He'd win, because him winning a fight is the funniest thing that could have happened. He probably didn't even realize you were fighting. And if you're talking post AAI2, I think he'd genuinely be able to beat the average person with his baton. It'd be close, but he'd win.
Ryuunosuke: I know he has a sword but still one of the easiest fights on this list. Do it. You know you want to.
Susato: This one is a pretty canon no.
Kazuma: No fucking way, and after what he did to the Payne family you shouldn't even try. Sword aside, he could do this unarmed.
Van Zieks: This may be controversial, but unless you happen to be British he's too busy thinking racist thoughts to notice you punching him in the gut. Not only should you fight him, I think you're morally obligated to do so. Steal some of his wine while you're at it it'll be wasted otherwise.
Sherlock: He wouldn't fight back because he finds the concept boring. Bring him a bear to fight, maybe then you will see the powers of a great detective!
Iris: Ignore everything I said about Pearl, this isn't even a fight, this is a massacre. Not only will she beat you within an inch of your life, she'll over you tea right after so you think the two of you are cool. Do not be fooled! The latest edition of Sherlock Holmes needed a fight scene, so your shame is broadcast all over the world!
Gina: Regardless of if you win or lose, you're losing your wallet.

So the snippets that Athena hears/sees during the time dive are very specific to where she finds Odysessus after all their time apart
Aeolus' "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" and then Eurylochus leads a mutiny AND he is held captive by Calypso
Poseidon's "ruthlessness is mercy" and then Odysessus finally acts with that ruthlessness as a mercy on himself
Circe's "one wrong move and you're done for" and then Odysessus watches his crew make a fatal mistake by slaughtering the cow
Tiresias' "song of past romance" and then Odysessus is confronted with a siren taking Penelope's form
Scylla's "drown in your sorrows and fears" and then Odysessus finds himself on the edge of a cliff
These clips were chosen so specifically to make Love in Paradise even more devastating because they just reminding how much Ody has been through and how much he's lost 💔

The reason why the Telemachy isn’t included in Epic the musical (at least, the Wisdom Saga. I’m not sure if the lyrics of Hold Them Down will be changed), is simple.
Telemachus went to Pylos and Sparta seeking his father’s whereabouts. He learned that Odysseus were stuck on Ogygia from Menelaus, who had heard from Proteus. This part is of course changed into Athena’s time dive in Love In Paradise. So, it’s not for Telemachus to find out. It is different from the Odyssey while still serves the purpose of locating Odysseus. (And having Athena as the one to find out makes more sense in Epic, since she is the one who hasn’t been updated on Epic since the Cyclops Saga)
Another thing to think about is the role of Nestor and Menelaus in the Odyssey. They’re like an anchor between the Iliad and the Odyssey, filling in the knowledge of the return of those heroes we care about. It’s just like Odysseus’s meeting with Agamemnon, Achilles, and Ajax in the Underworld. Meanwhile, these heroes are only mentioned one line each in The Horse and the Infant. That is because they do not serve as part of Odysseus’s journey. And Epic is about Odysseus’s journey, not just the exterior but the inner one as well.
So, the Underworld Saga chooses to focus on Polites, Anticleia, Teiresias, and Odysseus himself, instead of having other heroes and famous women showing up. After all, it’s a musical. It’s those who can affect Odysseus’s decisions that’ll be introduced. It’s the same for the Wisdom Saga: Nestor’s and Menelaus’s yapping will only defocus the musical itself. So, the Telemachy is cut from the Wisdom Saga.
At the end of the day, it’s always good to remember that one should not expect to have everything in a musical. Epic has already made sacrifices like Ismarus and now Telemachy to get the story delivered musically. It simply cannot have everything as some are always expecting (partially due to the 40-song length restriction). Maybe things will be different if Jay decides to release songs that sever as DLCs for Epic. Maybe things will be different if Jay decides to go by his original idea of starting the musical with the Iliad, which will certainly brings the Trojan War into focus. But for now—I’ll just blast Little Wolf in my ears while simping Telestratus ship as one always should, because why not?

Okay, so the target audience for this is probably me and maybe two other nerds. But do you guys remember how in Doctor Who Donna somehow didn't know aliens existed for years even though earth had been invaded like? 3 times?
I want this to happen with Tommy. Plane emergency landing on the highway? He was having a spa weekend. Bobby's and Athena's house burnt down? He was at a lord of the rings movie night, no phones allowed. There's a council meeting concerning the 118 continued existence? Tommy missed that email, he was scuba diving.

About bucktommy and 911 in general
You know, in the end, this just feels extremely cheap and cruel.
Showing bucktommy be incandescently happy in all the episodes but 8.6? Even in this ep you can feel how much they care and genuinely love each other. Audience was largely optimistic and excited about them, in a way we have never seen for other buck's LI.
Only to what? Throw it all away because you can't be bothered to write a satisfactory arc for them? Because Buck is the epitome of the guy who dates a lot but always gets broken up with? That to be able to decide if you want to be in a committed relationship if you are bi you have to explore first or else your decision is null and void?
What a way to waste potential and your characters arc.
The special thing about Tommy was that he was beloved by not only bucktommy fans, but GA, and most importantly he was a sort of representation we don't see all that much in media. People loved him because they saw themselves in him, they could connect to his journey and they were genuinely rooting for him to find love and family with Buck. To waste it all away, and to do so by basically throw at us all that we loved about them is unnecessarily cruel.
What hurts the most is that even buck and tommy themselves didn't want to break up. but instead they "must" because bowing down to harmful stereotypes about bi people who are "confused and so they must experiment before settling" is more important than telling a compelling story.
Even without bt break up, I feel like this season took a sharp dive for the worst about well thought storylines in a way that baffles him. Gerrard was reduced to a joke, as was Ortiz, both pgs that could have been used to create compelling arcs that intertwined the 118 even more but instead we got this cheap throwaway joke of a Gerrard, Ortiz was basically throw out of office in a single ep. Hotshot sl could have been fun but instead it's just.... there. And coming back too just for funsies, cause apparently that sl was more important to develop instead of a interesting queer relationship.
Athena once again doing copaganda. Bobby coming back to the 118 without any particular struggle or even guilt about dropping the bag. Things said in interviews that we expect to happen and never even made it to the screen (Eddie's loneliness? Chim and Hen having conflict over Mara? Buck feeling guilty about injuring Gerrard?).
The way Maddie cannot have any sl that is not either tied to a man or about motherhood. Madney having another surprise baby instead of them choosing on purpose to expand their family. Hen & Karen gaining trauma after trauma about their children and not having any other sl that is not tied to that. Josh just existing in the periphery and only becoming important as the "insightful token gay" but not having any type of meaningful screen time since Carson.
The other side characters like Sue, Ravi, Linda, Carla completely disappearing without anyone mentioning them. Ravi has not been given any important sl ever since he talked about having cancer and ever since reduced as a comic relief without anything to add to his character but he's a "landlord".
Chris is out of the picture for who knows how long, and is basically kept around to be traumatized over and over again. Eddie hasn't gotten any character development until first s5 and seemingly now, but i'd argue that the whole thing just felt rushed because what do you mean it takes one chat with a priest for him to do a 180° while he still isn't talking to Chris? And Eddie was the one who got the best treatment of all of them this season.
It's the way this show is slowly chipping itself away. It's the way they start a queer story line promising it would be impactful and handled with care and then half-assing it a best. It's the way the other queer characters are never explored and able to breath and revel in their queerness in the first place. Because, really, when was the last time Hen and Karen kissed on screen? When was the last time they went on a date? When was the last time their arcs were not about children or getting hurt, but just about them as individuals? And on this thread what about Maddie? Or Josh? Or Chim? Or Eddie?
Everything feels reused again and again and again without no real development than then starting the circle all over in half a season.
What a waste.

Atlas/Athena [f/m] - 1 of 3 roommates. A is the elusive and isolated musician who makes a living writing songs for others and doing gigs down at the local bar. A is quiet, nonchalant, and prefers their isolation. After getting their heart broken by their high school sweetheart, A has swore off love and vowed to focus solely on their career. A has no room for love, and they make it clear.
Appearance: Olive, freckled skin. Atlas has shaggy brown hair that falls in front of their eyes in a wolf-cut with bleached white dyed pieces at the bottom. Athena's brown and white hair falls down her back with black, straight-cut blunt bangs. They usually wear all black and have a variety of piercings.
Callum/Calliope [f/m] - 1 of 3 roommates. Cal is the ultra nice, slightly uptight, easily flustered college professor who is currently dating their longtime partner...that everyone seems to hate. Cal seems very in love with them and is oblivious to their best friends' irritation, but is that all a ruse?
Appearance: Cal has golden blonde hair. Cal's hair is curly fluffy while Calliope's falls down in soft ringlets around her face. Pale skin and green eyes. C dresses down, wearing basic clothes like button-downs and plain dresses.
Levi/Lani [f/m] - 1 of 3 roommates. L is boisterous, arrogant, and the comedian of the group. L makes their money as an influencer and uses their abundance of free time to pick up all kinds of people. L doesn't believe anyone can get them to settle down, especially considering they've never been in love..nor believe it exists.
Note: you can only romance L by starting a purely physical relationship first.
Appearance: Russet brown skin and long black hair that falls down their back and tied in a messy bun. L usually wears a white, billowy button down tucked into black slacks with an abundance of rings.
Garrett/Gaia [f/m] - Your neighbor. G is friendly but distant, always looking down at their phone when they see you. They seem disinterested in the happenings of Apartment 502. You can't help but wonder more about them...and their young child.
Appearance: Brown skin and curly black hair. G usually has headphones on, and Garett's hair is cut into a curly undercut while Gaia's is primed in a slick bun. They're usually dressed in a pristine black turtle neck and matching black pants.
Rainn [f/m] - your perfect, financially-stable lawyer ex. You thought what you and Rainn had was special, until they abruptly dump you the same day you were set to move in. The worst part? They live in the same building.
Oddly enough, Rainn doesn't seem to be acting like someone who should be completely moved on...
Appearance: Rain either has a severe black bob or black slicked back hair and usually seen in a pantsuit or business-casual clothes. They have tan skin and bright blue eyes.
Mason/Mona [f/m]- your old academic rival...who is now your co-worker. What are the chances you two ended up in the same place? M seems to have a lot of fun making things harder for you at your new job, especially considering you guys are competing for the affection of your boss. Tch.
Appearance: Long or short dyed white hair and tan skin with bright brown eyes. (M's outfit is dependent on job of choice.)

A Breakdown of BuckTommy's Storyline Going Into Season 8 - Part II (Their Relationship)
Part I here.
With part II, I want to dive into what we know about their relationship going into Season 8, how their relationship is going, and how it might affect the other characters in the show.
The first explicit mention of Buck and Tommy's relationship's was in TVLine's preview. Tim Minear mentioned that Buck and Tommy are "still getting to know each other a little better" and the article mentions they are "going strong." Their relationship is mentioned positively in contrast to Buck's relationship with Gerrard, which is a negative relationship for him.
The TVLine article also mentions that Buck will have someone to complain to. We've already seen that Buck feels comfortable with opening up to Tommy about his emotions (the coffee date in 7.05 and dinner scene in 7.10), and that Tommy knows Buck enough to tell when he is uncomfortable and might want to talk about something. While they are still learning about each other, they've both demonstrated that they're treating their relationship seriously, and, going into Season 8, they are "a couple."
Tim Minear also mentioned that they are comfortable with each other, which builds from a Season 7 interview where he stated that Buck "feels safe" with Tommy. While they have some minor troubles, the foundation of their relationship is strong going into Season 8.
In the EW article, Tim Minear mentions that they also feel comfortable hanging out with Eddie. Eddie is Buck's best friend and Tommy's friend. I suspect this means that we will see at least one scene, and possibly more, with all three of them. We haven't seen the three of them interacting without other people there before, so I look forward to what that dynamic will be like. I think the three of them will have an easy dynamic, since the emotions from 7.04 have been worked out - Buck realized the source of his jealousy, he and Tommy are now dating, and Eddie has no issue with his friends' sexualities. If there is any tension, I think it will be because Eddie is third wheeling on a new couple who are still learning about each other and there is an inherent awkwardness in that, especially when it's two of your friends and you're trying to figure out that new dynamic.
The next thing Tim Minear mentioned was that "when you couple up with somebody, it takes up some of your time...Buck doesn't have as much free time as he did before." The way I interpret this to mean is that Buck will be spending quite a bit of time with Tommy. We knew he already was - Bobby clocks that he's going to spend the night with him, and Buck goes home to have dinner with Tommy - but it's further confirmation that we will be getting more scenes of them as a couple in Season 8.
The part I elided said that Eddie will be "a little bit out in the cold," which I interpret to mean that we may see fewer Buck and Eddie scenes in Season 8. The two are best friends, so I am positive they will have some scenes together, but Eddie will have to find someone else for support. He usually leans heavily on Buck - something that Ryan Guzman has said is a pattern for Eddie that "doesn't offer maturity" and that Eddie should be "self-reflective" and realize that he has to deal with difficult conversations alone. Tim Minear also mentions that "everything was stripped away from Eddie" and it's "time for him to figure out who the hell he is."
A pre-occupied Buck also offers Eddie chances to interact more with other characters. Ryan Guzman has said that Eddie "might be seeking out Cap in a way that he never has before." He has also stated he wants scenes with Maddie, Karen, and Athena. Not being as tied to Buck allows Eddie a chance to grow as a character and develop new relationships.
I expect to see Buck and Tommy's relationship growing - and the audience seeing that through their scenes together. It also provides opportunities for the writers to explore new dynamics for other characters who often spend time with Buck. We saw in the deleted scene that Hen and Karen were curious about their relationship, and Hen comments on them when they walk into the hospital room together.
In short, their relationship adds new dimensions to the show. Buck enters a relationship with a man and navigates the 118's past. Tommy is recontextualized, and provides a support for Buck while also having his past with the 118 explored. Even though the season is just beginning, their relationship is already woven into the show, and isn't shoved off into its own space. It's ripe for exploration, and I am excited for what comes next for them.

Oooh I just had an idea (I'll take sentences my characters never wanna hear for 500)
Remember in God Games when Athena basically takes an involuntary time dive to an important moment of her life?
(it's honestly kinda near-death-experience coded but that's not the point I'm trying to make)
What if in the aftermath of it all that happens again.
Extra what if, what if someone is close to her/touching her right in that moment and gets pulled along with her.

anything for Luke and a daughter of hecate, ANYTHING FOR THEM......
had to do my research for this one
for context Hecate is the goddess of witchcraft, magic, ghosts, stuff like that. There's probably more but that's what I got from my one minute google search
I kept this kind of fluffy because I wanted to switch it up, I hope that's okay! If you want smut feel free to request again 🩷
Enjoy!
Luke didn't known much about your mother, most people didn't. She was one of the smaller goddesses. Well, not small, she just wasn't as well known as Athena or Aphrodite. He had heard her name a few times around camp, not thinking much of it. He didn't pay much attention to the name until he realized your own name was associated with it. Whenever you came to camp, eventually getting claimed by Hecate, he started to do his research. He started listening if one of the counselors talked about her or reading more thoroughly if he saw her name in a book. He wanted to learn more about her for one reason; to get closer to you.
Once he learned more about her, he started seeing the resemblances between the two of you. Your long, silky dark hair was exactly how some book described your mother, as well as your overall beauty. If Hecate hadn't of claimed you, it probably would have been Aphrodite. It also made sense why you and some of the Hades' kids were close, you were all connected to the dead. Another thing that made you alike, you were magical. Something about you almost made him feel as if he was put under some sort of spell. Every time you walked into a room, smiling and laughing, it was as if you enchanted him. Every time he was the cause of your laughter, he would melt, almost as if you had cursed him to fall in love with you.
He didn't know how, but your godly parent eventually came up in a conversation. And God's had he prepared for this moment.
"Yeah, she can control ghosts and magic n' all that, right?"
All of that research was worth it. The way you looked at him, your face holding one of your signature, beautiful smiles.
"Yeah... she can. How'd you know that?"
"Uh... I dunno, I've just always found her interesting."
He managed to get out that excuse, you seemed to believe it. Your smile only grew, sending butterflies into his stomach again.
As the two of you kept talking, your mother fading away and the conversation becoming more natural, he was all smiles. He was smiling for a few reasons. One being that he was proud of himself for being productive and learning about your mother. The main reason, though, was you. How your lips moved when you talked, your sing-songy voice leaving them as you joked around with him. He hadn't realized he was starring until you pointed it out.
"Luke? Are you okay? You're like zoning out or something."
"Hm?"
He forced himself to look away from your gorgeous smile, meeting your eyes. They looked stunning. The light hit them perfectly, giving them a magical glow as if your mother was casting a spell from Olympus. As if she and Aphrodite were cursing him to fall head over heels in love and not have a single say in it. Once again he was zoning out, gazing into your eyes like a lovestruck fool. He could've mustered up another excuse if he kept his mouth shut. That only confirmed his theory of being cursed.
"You have really pretty eyes, yknow.."
Shit. He didn't even mean to say that, the words just left his lips. Your mother must've hated him. He wanted to go and dive off the dock and never come back up for air. He was about to go do so until you spoke again.
"Yeah..?"
Since he had been looking down like a flustered idiot, he hadn't noticed the way your smile grew after his words. He hadn't noticed the way your eyes lit up, nor the way you were blushing yourself. Not as badly as him, but you were still blushing.
"..Yeah."
He looked back up to meet your eyes again, finally noticing how your smile became a grin. He couldn't help but mimic the expression, it was infectious.
He didn't notice how you had scooted closer, bit he did notice how you leaned in. He noticed how your beautiful eyes softly closed, and he especially noticed how your lips met his. It all happened so fast, but Gods.. it was magical.

MORE ON THE EPIC TIME DIVE
Okay I have another idea about the Time Dive. My first speculations are here. I'm starting to think following the snippet we heard, we would get up to 4 melodic strings to represent Thunder Saga following the No Longer You string - Suffering/Different Beast for 1st one following, Scylla for 2nd, Mutiny 3rd and Thunder Bringer 4th.
Hear me out, Winions: The 4 we were teased were specifically Aeolus's Island, Ruthlessness, Circe's motif in Done For vibe, and No Longer You
ie. Ody's encounter with: 1 - Aeolus 2 - Poseidon 3 - Circe (that's why it's not the Puppeteer version of the motif) 4 - Tiresias
It's about Ody's encounter with another character THAT LED HIM/CONTRIBUTED TO HIS MONSTER MODE.
If that pattern stands then we can assume Ody's encounter with these characters to be represented too.
5 - Sirens 6 - Scylla 7 - Eury+Crew (as enemy/boss fight) 8 - Zeus These would be events Athena would end up seeing before finding Ody's ENCOUNTER WITH CALYPSO in Love in Paradise.
Counter arguments as brought on by brilliant folks in the EPIC Discord Server in epic-music channel:
Q: If it's about character encounters, then why is Hermes not represented?
A: Jorge has stated Hermes is the pre-boss battle guidance /support NPC, like the final merchant you get before entering a boss battle. (ie. giving Ody the ✨HOLY MOLY✨) So it's not the main event like Ody's encounter with Circe is. As well, all other encounters have an impact on Ody falling into Monster mode. Hermes doesn't have that. And my good friend Bog supports that!
Q: Is Siren a significant event? Or just a side quest that leads to Scylla? A: I actually asked that question after my good friend Ceru on Discord asked about Hermes. I am not 100% sure. We could argue the Siren encounter is not a significant event, but just a side quest to get to Scylla. Squidney110 on Discord cleverly pointed out that Suffering and Different Beast feels like a recap "episode" after the Act 1 intermission to get Act 2 kick started.
Time will tell how close or far I got to Jorge's final product. But I'm posting it here on Tumblr so I can easily refer back and celebrate or laugh at myself when the song releases. LMAO

“Anyone got eyes on Maverick?” you ask, eyes scanning both your radar and the terrain too.
“No visual,” Harvard confirms.
“He’s here somewhere,” you note and then you realize.
Never only think what’s expected, kid. 360 degrees, all the time It’s something your dad told you were little, he and Ice, they wanted to teach you lessons to help you, things they learned too late. Little tests, quizzes, making sure you were well prepared for whatever life threw at you. Part of you was positive that Ice always knew where you’d end up.
Keeping that lesson in mind, you decide to change your perspective.
“Athena!” Yale’s shout echoes when you invert, a slow roll, completely safe, but not anticipated by your teammates.
Of course, your hunch pays off when you spot your dad from where he'd been shadowing you from below the hard deck, below your radars reach.
“How’s it hanging, old man?” you ask, smiling under your mask, looking through the canopy at him.
“You’re catching on to my tricks too quick, kid,” he throws back and you can practically hear the smirk.
There's a “Oh shit,” over the line from Harvard, but you shake your head as your dad comes up ahead of you both and you flip back once again.
“I know you too well, Sir,” you offer in response.
“Let’s to put that to the test,” he says, “time to turn and burn aviators, fights on!”
He shoots up and you spare another look at the foxtrot team on your right.
“Break right, Yale,” you shout over the line as you peel off left trying to find your Dad again.
“Breaking right,” he confirms.
You both loop around and eventually you find him, he’s already on your ass and you’re trying to shake him off.
“Tally Tally, he’s on your four-side Athena,” Harvard shouts.
“I see him!” you confirm increasing your throttle and turning up in an attempt to loop back around.
Your dad though, is hard to lose.
“I can’t shake him,” you huff, eyes squinting down as you pull evasive maneuvers.
“Athena, how long would you need to get tone?” Yale’s question comes suddenly, and you spot him looping back around, you see the move he’s planning to make, the way he’s positioning himself.
“Not long,” you assure him.
“Get ready to Rock and Roll,” Yale decides.
“I hate the Rock and Roll,” Harvard mutters, and you can’t help the small chuckle that slips out.
“Would you prefer the Do-Si-Do?” you ask, amusement shining through as you turn to set your self up.
“Fuck, no, and you fucking know it,” Harvard denies vehemently, you can hear Yale laugh as you finally get yourself right where you want to be.
“I’m ready to Rock,” you confirm and suddenly you stop the evasive maneuvers.
“Then let’s Roll!” Yale shouts, shooting up.
You, on the other hand, straighten out, and right before Maverick can get tone, Yale dives down in a controlled but fast barrel roll in the gap between you both, it’s not the tightest gap, easily manageable, but enough to give Mav pause, and while Harvard and Yale slowed to avoid the hard deck, you accelerate straight up and then tip back in a vertical roll, it pulls more G’s than you’d expected during your first training run of the detachment, but you manage to level out and get tone on your dad.
Unfortunately your tone comes right after your dad caught Harvard and Yale.
“Shit,” you huff, dejected as Yale pulls up parallel to you.
“Shit,” Mav agrees, flanking your other side, though he sounds more impressed than anything else.
“Harvard, Yale, go see Hondo about your push-ups,” Mav calls, and the foxtrot team starts their descent. “Athena,” he calls, and your gaze jumps out the canopy and at your dad. He hits the glass, pulling his mask off and offering you a rare smile, real and proud, like he did at your high school graduation. “Not bad, Kid,” he says and you smile despite yourself, beginning your own descent.
Harvard, Yale, Hangman, Phoenix, and Bob are all stood on the tarmac when you land.
“I have a need,” Yale yells holding up his hands as you get out of your plane.
You roll your eyes but play along, “A need for speed!” you shout, high-fiving him and then Harvard who was stood behind his pilot.
“Not bad, ‘Thena,” Hangman drawls, a twinkle in his eyes.
“Don’t be too sad when you don’t get tone, Hangman, we always knew I was the better pilot,” you smirk, winking at him as you walk past.
You shake your head walking with Brigham and Yale, and when they stop by Hondo, you do too.
“You got tone, Athena, no push-ups for you,” Hondo says, frowning when you ditch your vest and gear, rolling your flight suit down and dropping to the ground in line with Harvard and Yale who had already done the same.
“I did,” you confirm, taking a plank beside the two men.
“Athena,” it’s Yale’s voice this time, looking at you with what can only be described as fondness, but also exasperation.
“We’re a team, you got shot down, we all do push-ups,” you say seriously. Then you turn to look up at Hondo, “on your count, Hondo,” you prompt.
“Hold that!” the evident smirk in the voice had your held tilting up and there was your dad. “A deal’s a deal, kid. You got tone, I owe 200 pushups,” your dad smirked down at you, as he dropped to the ground on the other side of you.
“You sure you can manage that? You’re getting up there in years,” you tease.
“Ice would have your head if he heard you age-shaming me,” he shoots back.
“Ice would laugh and join me,” you challenge.
Your dad simply smiles in defeat, turning to Hondo, “like the kid said, on your count, Hondo.”
“If you insist,” he nods, and then, “Down! One! Two! Three!” and the count went on, the four of you doing your push-ups.
