my romantic self-esteem is just absolutely rock-solid. for whatever reason!

#I’m a catch!#and I’m so not interested in anybody who wouldn’t demonstrably make my life better in every way #and that involves not being afraid of me or the idea of romance/marriage in general #and if you are afraid it just isn’t interesting or attractive enough for me #there was a boy a few years ago and tbh I think he liked me #and I liked him! he was cute he was intense in an endearing way #and he was smart #we argued about Taylor and then the next time I saw him he was like Christmas tree farm is a good song #(it had just come out)#and he never did anything about it and then he moved away and that is totally fine #and I wish him well.#but the crush was killed by the simple fact that he never liked me enough to say it #like truly and with all (non-romantic) love; go with God #at that point lol #that said I have never wanted marriage or children as an abstract concept #so it makes it much easier to think along these lines #it would be so devastating to want it so badly and not get it!#but I can’t even imagine summoning the desire for it in an abstract sense #I’ll meet someone and love them and then that will lead to marriage and possibly children #or I won’t #but both roads look about the same to me in terms of desire #or any desire big enough worth mentioning #not talking about the whispers or the daydreams that do sometimes intrude #but yeah I don’t think full desire would come until there was a person #and there might not be! I cannot conjure them from the deeps lol #anyway I’ll stop talking about it because I know it can be sensitive/delicate to talk about #in a public setting

the obsession with the military fascinates me bc while yes most usamericans and then some are exposed to a ridiculous amount of pro US military propaganda from a young age i dotn think it takes much to understand how fucking awful imperialism is. like most of my friends and i knew the military was bad by at least middle school or early high school.... like i think anyone who learned the lesson as a child that u shouldnt hurt people in general can understand why Country That Blows Shit Up Regularly is bad.

I advise looking up 'Make Some Noise' on #yt and watching the full episodes/compilations available for free there #He is in a youtube video with Smosh cast in an improv format they do called 'Try Not To Laugh'. Smosh cast folks are also very funny- a good #proportion of them at this point are also prifessional comedians. There are other Try Not To Laugh videos. a LOT of them. they can be #hit or miss but a lot of them are quite good (blind pairs or the musical episodes are all pretty good)#Smosh has multiple channels- this one is called Smosh Pit ajd also has other stuff they do. Challenge Pit is also quite funny. there is also #smosh games channel. smosh cast channel. and the main smosh channel #tbh i recommend looking up compilations of cast members to figure out what content you might find compelling but they make a pretty broad #spread of stuff at this point so odds are decent youll find something funny. esp if you already watch dropout :)#ok infodump over. glad ppl are having fun with this lol

#lol good luck finding all of the photoshopped versions in the rb history. ‘manatee restored’ is still my favorite of all time #misc #I encourage anyone dyslexic to try rotating him in your mind. I can’t do that; which is why I’m asking you to.#also: a bunch of tags are surprised this isn’t ‘shopped #it’s the lighting. backlit by the sun (which is diffused through the water) but also forelit artificially #the artificial light - a flash pack or something - casts a hard shadow under the creatures arm #which normally wouldn’t be possible if backlit by the SUN; you’d see a less-hard/more-fragmented shadow above water #as light sources ‘compete’ in a sense - and since there aren’t any light sources which can outshine the literal sun #it looks a bit weird when the darkest shadow is being cast from any other origin point - which is what’s essentially happening here #I don’t know the mechanics of how light travels through water; but I know the effect is substantial even with relatively short distances #also: it’s been balanced and color corrected by the author of the photo - who made deliberate choices to bring out the full potential #so it’s not like it’s a fresh and untouched export #but the kind of ‘tacked on’ appearance of the creature is a result of the lighting conditions within the image
