A/N: In honor of Arcane Season 2 coming out today, thought I would bring back one of my best kinktober prompts with everybody's favorite muscle mommy. Briefly considered making a part 2 for this but lemme know what you guys think?
dividers made by @cafekitsune
Why did you think this was a good idea?
Well, truth be told, you didn’t think this was a good idea… But it was the only idea you had left. Your family was dead, like everyone was in the Undercity. Your partner got herself killed from a shimmer overdose, and you were facing being homeless. Your entire world was turned upside down and it was all fucked to no end. But now you had to pick up the pieces.
You were hired at the brothel. What the actual fuck were you thinking? Well, you knew Babette, and she was willing to give you a chance. It was decent money, and you were given free food during every shift. How could you turn it down?
It was your first week and you have already been through hell. The women who came to the brothel tended to be high on shimmer and sloppy at best, but the men; they were aggressive, vicious, and you found yourself leaving with aches and pains every single night.
And yet, when you entered the room that you were assigned to today, you were surprised to say the least. The outfit on the bench was… strange. Normally, the clientele wanted something revealing, lace, and soft bright colors. No, you were given something black, made of leather, and matching black heels to complete the look.
“Don’t question it,” You told yourself. “Just put it on.”
You slowly stripped off all your clothes and pulled on the leather bustier and black lace panties. Your fingers twitched slightly as you strapped the heels to your feet and ran your fingers through your hair… Your lipstick was a deep maroon color, and you had dark, dramatic eyeliner. Seems like you thought it all out already?
Who was your client today? Why were you so nervous? What if it was a man that was three times your size? What if it was more than one man? What if you got hurt today?
“Did you hear about who she picked today?” A shiver raced down your spine as you approached the curtains in front of your door, biting down on your painted lip. Who were they talking about?
“Oh, I heard. Cute little new girl is about to get ruined today, huh?” You… they were talking about you! But who else? Who was she?
You’ll get your answer soon enough.
It felt like forever until you heard heavy footfalls in the hallways. Whispers carried in the corridors, along with the aggressive clicks of heels from your fellow ‘coworkers’ running away from whoever was making their presence known inside of the building. Your fingers trembled as you dared a peek out from behind your curtain.
Not even a second later, the curtain was being pulled back and in walked your client… Tall, muscular, handsome, and absolutely terrifying.
The brothel’s most regular visitor. Silco’s right hand… the person that everyone in the underground fears.
Sevika.
You nearly fell down the stairs, heels slipping on the concrete flooring as you tried to back away and give her the space she deserved. But it seemed she had other ideas.
Before your body could come in contact with the ground, the woman reached out and grabbed both of your hips with her hands. Her right hand was warm and calloused, a pulse beneath her flesh, but her left hand? Cold, sharp, and thrumming with the energy of her mechanical arm hidden beneath that cloak she always wears.
“Easy, doll,” Her voice is deep, husky almost as she steps forward and lowers you down to the stable surface behind you. Shivers raced down your back, and you couldn’t stop yourself from trembling in her grasp. For a moment, neither of you said anything. But then her eyes raked all over your body and she breathed, hard. “Damn, look at you… Pretty little thing all dressed up just for me?”
Were you supposed to speak? You have heard so many stories about Sevika… how aggressive and cruel she is out there on the streets, and how she kills without mercy or a care in the world. You were scared of her, to say the least… And Sevika could see it in your eyes. She knew what her reputation was and was more than happy to push the agenda.
“Scared of me?”
You inhaled sharply, your hands slowly sliding from your sides to hold onto her forearms. The whirring of the mechanics of her arm made your thighs tremble. “N-No, miss…”
“Funny,” Sevika reached down and gently ran her rough fingertips along the edge of your jaw before she slid her hand in your hair. “Only dumb girls feel no fear… Now, you aren’t dumb, are you sweet thing?”
You breathed slowly for a second, fearing you said something wrong to her. She looked amused, but looks could be deceiving… The gap between her two front teeth was cute. You focused on the crease of her jawline, the scars on her face, and the way her brows were pulled down.
She was so fucking hot that you forgot why you were afraid… and then, she grabbed at your hair, making you yelp and submit. Your hands had slid far too high up, and she was punishing you… Fuck, she was punishing you! “Better watch it. I’m paying to touch you, not the other way around.”
“But—” You hiccupped, looking into her eyes for the briefest second. She waited for your words to continue. “S-sorry…”
“Oh, she has manners?” Sevika showed off the smile that made your stomach flutter for a brief moment and reached down with both hands, gripping your thighs and lifting you off the floor like you weighed almost nothing to her. Out of instinct, your hands reached up and grabbed onto her shoulders for stability. “Were going to have fun.”
Before you could utter another sound, you felt something press against you… something solid, and stiff. Something that felt like it was alive, right against the wet spot on your panties. A low moan left your throat, and you just immediately knew what it was.
“Take it off, doll,” Sevika breathed against your neck. “You know you want to.”
Fingers trembled as you reached for the cloak on her shoulders and slowly pulled it over her head. The brown fabric dropped to the floor behind her, and you looked down, confirming your suspicion. Sevika was strapped under her pants… the bulge was now way more obvious without the cloak.
“Feel that?” Sevika pressed her flesh hand to your rear and stepped forward, spinning you around and sitting herself down on the couch behind you. The second you were in her lap, she was pushing you down onto her hips and grinding the bulge against your cunt like it was her damn birthright to do so.
Your pulse quickened with every passing second, and you dropped your face down against her chest, breathing in the scent of tobacco and her natural scent… Strong, earthy, like a roaring wood fire. You didn’t know what came over you, but before you could scold yourself for knowing better, your tongue came in contact with her bear neck and your lips trailed all over her exposed skin.
Sevika tensed up and her fingers went from holding your hips to sliding under the fabric of your panties, grabbing at your flesh and making you instinctively bite down on her shoulder. Nowhere near enough to hurt, but enough for her to feel it. Sevika looked like she was about to start climbing the walls as she felt your hips roll forward on top of her.
With a simple flick of her metallic fingers, the underwear given to you was ripped off your body and you barely had time to recover before Sevika was lifting you off her lap and reaching to pull the zipper of her pants down. A sigh left your throat, and you could only push your face into her neck; Sevika didn’t like that.
“Nuh-uh,” She grabbed your chin with her flesh hand, pulling you back to look down into her eyes. Her grey irises were staring directly passed your fears and into your soul. It was like she was lighting you on fire from the inside out. “You look at me. Prettiest fucking girl is going to look at me when I fuck her.”
Her words made you blush from the tips of your ears down to your neck and you almost forgot that this was your job… It was easy to think that Sevika had just picked you out of everyone in the underground to have a night with. Not… that she was paying for it.
“Don’t worry,” Sevika smirked, that crease in her brow becoming more prominent as you felt her hand leave your face and slide down between your legs. When you felt her calloused fingers against your soft wet folds, you forgot how to breathe. “Daddy’s gonna take good care of you.”
The sound you made was beyond pornographic. Two of her fingers slipped inside of your wetness without any kind of resistance. Your entire body went rigid, and your eyes fluttered for a brief second before you forced yourself to look at her. Sevika smirked and basked in your expressions, slowly pushing you up and down on her digits.
What did you even say? What were you supposed to do? Sevika isn’t like your other clients… She’s so intense, even when she’s barely touching you. It feels like you are drowning, even if it’s just her presence surrounding you. Your inner walls squeeze at her fingers as she curls them at just the right angle. Sevika smirked.
“Oh, you like that?” Sevika kept you steady on her lap with her metal hand while the other one worked in and out of your pussy. “So wet for me, already? Barely touched you, doll.”
“Fuuck...” You rolled your entire body forward, biting your lip and leaning down just enough to press soft kisses against her face. “P-Please—”
“Please, what?” Sevika said sternly. “Use your words, doll.”
“I… I n-need… ohfuck...”
“Come on,” She smirked, curling her fingers at just the right angle that you almost feel your legs give out. “Just say it—”
“Fuck me,” You whine, finally giving in. “Please, please, please… fuck me, daddy.”
There was a hunger in her eyes that wasn’t there before. It was like a switch had flipped inside of her because in mere seconds, you went from sitting on her lap to her pushing you down into the floor that was littered with pillows, blankets, anything you could desire to make this as comfortable as possible.
Sevika all but ripped her pants to try and free what had been teasing you initially. You only had a few seconds to really look at the strap around her hips before she was lining the tip of the bright purple silicone against your core.
“Pretty little thing,” Sevika growled, almost ferally as she slammed down overtop of you. Suddenly, the leather around your chest felt entirely too tight, like you couldn’t breathe. You began frantically reaching for the ties to undo the restraint on your chest, and Sevika noticed because you gasped at her ripping the ropes off the bustier and pushing the fabric apart to really look at you.
“Now, because you were a good girl…” Sevika gently prodded your opening, making you whimper and reach for her biceps. “You get a warning before you get fucked.”
“Daddy, please—”
That was her trigger. You could only grab at her muscles before she was plunging all of her strap inside of your cunt like it belonged to her. You tried to scream, but nothing came out other than a strangled squeak as your head went back on the pillows and tears filled your eyes.
You aren’t a stranger to being stretched out like this. It wasn’t like it was your first day at the brothel… but it was your first day with Sevika. She only gave you a few seconds to adjust to that cock before she was reaching down with her flesh fingers and gently rubbing at your clit.
Your soft squeaks faded into intense moans, much to the woman’s delight. She chuckled, watching you squirm and look at her like she was an alien of some sort.
“Not what you expected, doll?” Sevika teased, rolling her hips forward and making you moan like the whore you were. “Didn’t think I’d care about making you feel good?”
Very stupidly, you nodded.
“Let me fix that,” She leaned down, and you curled your fingers into the leather of her jacket before bracing yourself for the most intense workday of your entire fucking life.
“Be good for daddy and I’ll make you cum so hard that you’ll beg me not to leave.”
And that is exactly what Sevika did.

Maybe...Reader gets real angry at guarddog!ghost and make him sleep on the blanket. Or not letting him on couches/beds.
Because if they want to play it like this, she's alright. Actually, she has a second collar for Johnny.
Maybe
i was wanting to play with this idea ( ͡°( ͡° ͜ʖ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ʖ ͡°) ͡°) -> more here
He's gawping at the sight before him.
"What's goin' on here?"
When Soap came home, he wasn't really expecting anything different. Just you, your dog, and a nice warm welcome back from the both of you. But not this. He was expecting anything else but this.
Kneeling on the ground, below the couch and right next to your feet is Ghost, not in his usual spot on the couch where you would normally be sitting in his lap. Soap raises his brow curiously at the adorable disgruntlement on your face compared to the content amusement radiating off of the lieutenant turned guard dog.
"I'm in the doghouse," Ghost informs, tone oddly facetious considering the obvious trouble he's in with you. In fact, he appears proud when he twists to look up at you from his spot on the ground. "'Parently I was 'barking too much' whatever the hell that means. Just pointed out a few flaws in 'er logic about something."
You're quick to rebuke him. "Hey, I told you if you were going to bark, at least do it properly."
Soap can't hold back his amused smile at how assertive you sound. He looks to Ghost to see his reaction, and instead of acting chastised, there's a flippant sort of glee tinged with arousal when he speaks again, slow and dark, "Woof, woof, pet."
You squint at the endearment, silently debating with yourself if you should do something about the cheek, but ultimately let it slide. Soap shakes his head in disbelief, but also chuckles much like Ghost did. He walks over, stopping by the kneeling man, exchanging a knowing smirk with him.
"Why don't you go easy on the dog?" Soap suggests, taking on a more lenient approach as he pats Ghost's head, sharing an amused look with him. "He's always been a good boy, hasn't he?"
"Woof," Ghost repeats, pointedly looking at you.
"See?" Soap points out. "Obedient!"
"Keep talking and I'll put a collar on you too, MacTavish," You threaten, turning your ire on him. "Make you both sleep on a blanket instead of the bed."
An interesting thought, but as much as he likes seeing this side of you, he and Ghost will have to keep you humble before you bite off more than you can chew.
"Careful, sweets." Soap chuckles lowly, deepening his voice in that way that makes your thighs clench. He hears you gulp and an amused huff from Ghost as he flashes his canines, leaning a shadow over you and forcing you to look up at him from the couch. He lets his smile widen into something a little feral. "I gave you Ghost to take care of because he's good for first time dog owners. He's quick to listen and willing to please, but I don't think you can handle two dogs. Got that?"
You swallow thickly, properly chastened, and weakly nod your head. "Yes, sir."
"Good girl."
-
sorry in this au i think ghost is gonna be the only dog, although maybe you're all a little dog-coded here. also you and ghost would be the only dogs soap likes.

Remember when I said I was going to sleep?
I lied
---
He banged on the door, not bothering with the doorbell or even knocking like a normal person. It had taken him a minute to wrap his head around what Tommy had said, and yes he had let him walk out the door, but damn it the conversation wasn't over.
"Tommy I know you're in there, your car is in the driveway!"
He waited a minute before banging again. Part of him was a little satisfied seeing the stained glass window above the door rattling in its frame.
"Tommy! The least you can do is hear me out!"
He debated going round the back and trying his luck there when the door opened.
Tommy's eyes were red and he looked about as good as Buck felt.
"Ev- Buck... What are you doing here?"
"Don't call me Buck." he pushed past Tommy into the house.
"Everyone calls you Buck."
"You don't. You've never called me that and you know how much that means to me."
Tommy sighed and sat down at his dining table.
"Please don't make this any harder than it has to be."
"Why? So you can just cut me out of your life? Pretend the last six months didn't happen? Is that what you want?"
He was angry and he started pacing up and down Tommy's living room
"No. That is the last thing I want... But I'm a realist."
"No, you're a coward. You got scared and you ran."
Tommy didn't say anything, just stared at his shoes.
"Maybe I am too impulsive, maybe suggesting moving in after 6 months was too much too soon. But I know how I feel. How I feel about you."
"Evan... You came out six months ago. I can't expect you to... Settle for me. There is a whole world out there for you to explore."
"Trust me, I've done plenty of exploring. I told you about the time I spent travelling around, working every job I could find... I didn't always sleep alone during that time. And even when I first started at the 118... I explored plenty."
"Maybe. But not with a man. I can't ask that of you. And... I don't think I can handle saying goodbye to you when you realise you want more from life than me. My heart is breaking now but it would destroy me having to let you go in six months or a year, or maybe even a few years if we're lucky. "
"So you just give up? You decide I'm not worth fighting for? That I don't know that I want forever with you just because I only discovered I'm bi six months ago?"
"That... That's not what I'm saying. Don't you think I want this? Want this with you?"
"Considering you dumped me about two hours ago... I don't know what to think." Buck crossed his arms in front of his chest and gave Tommy an expectant look. "I thought things were good between us."
"They were."
"Then what is the problem?!"
"I got scared ok?! I've been here before, and I don't mean Abby. I was in a serious relationship with a guy and... I was crazy about him. Things were good. So good. I thought it was forever."
Buck sat down on the other side of the table.
"What happened?"
"He... Didn't think we were forever. More like for now." Tommy shook his head. "He... He told me he couldn't be my first and my last. That we both had to see what was out there. He broke my heart."
"But I'm not the same person as your ex." Buck reached across the table, silently asking Tommy to take his hand. "I'm me. I know what I want and I want you. I don't know what the future holds for me and you... But I'd like to find out with you."
"Evan... I want that too but... I have to protect my heart. I mean it. I don't think I could handle losing you if having you in my life for only six months makes me feel like this."
"I'm not going anywhere." Buck told him resolutely. "These past six months have been some of the best of my life. We have fun together. You indulged me with that curse, you're friends with Eddie and Chim, you get the job, you get the lifestyle that comes with it... You get me."
Tommy turned to face him.
"Evan... I... I want to believe this so bad but... I don't know if I can."
"Don't you want to try? Give us both a real shot at happiness?" Buck asked. "I'm usually the one that gets scared and does something stupid... But I can be the sensible and reasonable one out of the two of us if that's what you need."
"You shouldn't have to change for me."
"But I have changed. For the better. You made me feel... Like me."
Tommy shook his head.
"You did that all by yourself."
"Maybe. But you helped. Having you by my side helped. You make me feel secure. You make me happy Tommy."
"You make me happy too." Tommy admitted, finally reaching out and covering Buck's hand with his own.
"Then don't throw this away because you got scared. I promise not to mention moving in together again for at least another six months." Buck joked, happy to get a small laugh from Tommy.
"Ok." Tommy said after a minute. "Ok." he repeated more confidently. "I guess I can be brave if you are."
Buck smiled and bought Tommy's hand to his lips and brushed a kiss over the knuckles.
"I was hoping you'd say that." he got up and rounded the table, stopping in front of Tommy. "Now we missed the movie again... But maybe we can just hang out here and watch something?"
"Yeah. Yeah I'd like that." Tommy said and met him halfway when Buck leaned down to kiss him.

chaotic night . . . “ are you scared of me .ᐣ ”
꒰ ִ ֺ ⊹ @ notice ⊹ ֺ ִ ꒱ this translation may not be 100% accurate or contain creative liberties due to characterization or narrative flow purposes. if you enjoy, please consider reblogging, but don’t repost these or claim these as your own!
— this is nica schwartz's chaotic night (halloween) story, which is available if you obtain his card, an early clear bonus alongside william. you can view the tl for william's story here [@.judesmoonbeauty]!
— cw: some suggestiveness, like physical touch or lack of personal space.
(I’m usually able to sleep by this time, but that’s hard to do now...)
Everyone having consumed the extract made from the queen of the night flower, the party was disbanded thereafter.
(I don’t know what might happen, so I can’t go out of my room.)
I did as Victor had told me, returning to my room without a fuss, but——
(I’m worried about everyone, and that’s keeping me wide awake.)
(But at the very least, I can do as I’m told and not leave my room.)
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Nica: Guten Abend, Spatzi.
Kate: Nica?
(What could he need this late at night...)
Remembering Victor’s words, I hesitated for a moment, but...
Nica: Could you open the door?
(It should be fine, right?)
The moment I opened the door, Nica nimbly slipped in like a cat.
Kate: Ah——
Nica: I’ll be here a little while then. It’s a pretty night, isn’t it.
When I looked at him, I felt a certain something was a bit off.
Kate: Your eyes...
Nica: Pretty awesome, right? They became completely red.
N: Ring’s eyes are the same color too. I guess we just aaalways have a knack for matching like this.
As he sat on the bed, I couldn’t catch even a glimpse of his normal blue amid the red that dyed his eyes.
Kate: It’s because of the extract, right? Do you feel unwell, or...
Nica: Not at all. In fact I feel better than ever.
N: I was wondering what sort of reaction I had, so to think only my appearance would change...
N: I was more so expecting the heightening of our abilities.
He looked down at himself, finding anything else that could have changed, when I realized yet another strange feature.
Kate: Were your teeth always that sharp, Nica...?
Nica: My teeth?
With a grin, he lifted the corners of his mouth, and there were indeed two that stood out, elongated into sharp points.
Nica: These are fangs, aren’t they?
Kate: Fangs!?
Nica: I was thinking how something hit me.
N: But I think that’s about all? Other than that, I’m the good old me.
N: So you have nothing to worry about, Spatzi.
He had a soft expression on his face, and while I was worried about those unfamiliar eyes and his fangs,
he invited me to sit beside him, so I decided to do just that.
Kate: So, what brought you all the way here?
Nica: I was thinking you might’ve been bored.
N: You know, seeing as you were told to not leave the room?
N: But since it’s you, I figured you might be worrying about others and all, right?
N: As far as I could tell, everyone seemed fine, and nobody seemed to be in any dire state.
(So he came to tell me this because he figured I would be worried.)
I felt calm from his hand caressing my cheek, and then they lowered down to my chest——
Nica: Süßes oder Saures.
Kate: Huh?
Nica: I realized I hadn’t said it yet. So go ahead and pick one.
N: Do you want a treat? Or a trick?
I was surprised at his sudden words, causing me to pull back.
(I didn’t have any treats prepared though!)
Nica: Could it be you didn’t prepare any?
His teasing voice made me stand up and try to leave.
Kate: I can go to the kitchen and...!
Nica: But you were told to not leave this room, right?
His words and the arms that restrained me seemed to control that.
Nica: And with that, a trick it is.
Kate: Wah——
He pulled on my arm so strong that I lost my balance, and Nica lifted me up,
and sat me atop his knee so I was straddling him.
Kate: Let me down...
I tried to get myself down, but he held onto my waist, so I couldn’t move.
Nica: Well, regardless whatever you chose, I didn’t really need any treats and all that.
We were so close I started to feel shy, and I felt heat rise on my face.
I placed my hands on both his shoulders, trying to bend back to create more distance between us when...
Nica: What, could it be you’re getting shy now?
Kate: That...
Nica: Oh, what an adorable little Spatzi, getting so red over that.
N: There there, shyness go away.
Kate: Stop treating me like a child!
Nica: Don’t you think it’s more like cheering up an angry cat rather than treating you like a kid?
I resisted against how he patted my head gently, as though he were comforting a crying child, when...
Kate: mn...
Nica: See, I was right, you really are like a cat. There there now.
This time he tickled beneath my chin like he would do to a cat, and I tried to swat his hand away...
Nica: Ow——
All of a sudden, Nica pressed his hand against his lips and looked down.
Kate: Are you okay!?
Nica: I’m fine, I just cut myself a little...
It was then I saw blood seep out from where his fangs pricked the corner of his mouth,
and while trying to wipe the blood off, he ended up licking some of it.
Nica: Aren’t I like a vampire now?
Red eyes, sharp fangs, and blood from his mouth.
What was supposed to be a frightening sight seemed to change into something more fantastical with the way the moonlight streamed in.
(I...can’t take my eyes off of him.)
His eyes then widened at me as he was patting my head.
Nica: I think I figured out why I have fangs.
N: I’ve been feeling this unbearable urge to bite since a while ago.
Kate: What!?
His lips traced the back of my neck as he took a breath...
Nica: I might end up activating my ability without knowing,
N: so let me bite you here.
Kate: Wh—no, wai—ah——
He forcefully bit into me then.
Kate: ...!
(Ouch——ah...?)
Along with the pain, a sudden heat rose from within my body...
Nica: So? Did anything change?
Kate: ah——
The moment he caressed my cheeks, it felt so good my body ended up reacting.
(I feel dizzy...)
(It’s kind of like feeling intoxicated from alcohol? No...it’s more like...)
(——when he’s pleasuring me...)
I grabbed desperately on his clothes, and reflected in my unsteady gaze was an amused figure...
Nica: Haha, I see now.
...and I was met with a gaze laced with sadism.
Nica: So when my ability is heightened, you end up getting turned on.
Kate: No way...
(I have to get away——)
With what little strength I could muster, I tried to create more distance, when his fingers made their way to the ribbon at the back of my neck——
Nica: I wonder how many times I can bite you before you go insane?
He had a devilish smile playing on his lips, and I ended up swallowing, forgetting about the notion of resisting.
Kate: ah...
Just then, the ribbon came undone, leaving me to hold my shirt up in a panic as his fangs hovered over my collarbone——
(I...was wrong.)
I hadn’t broken my promise to leave the room, and yet I hadn’t thought about how letting someone in the room would pose dangers.
That, and of all people, to let in the one whose ability was to charm people...
Nica: I’ll make you feel the best you’ve ever known.
Until I lost my sanity and went mad...
——this night would not end.
Fin.

END NOTES: fyi, guten abend means "good evening," and Süßes oder Saures means "trick or treat," at least according to the translation ikevil provided, haha. i always enjoyed vampire stories...! so i think it's nice cybird gave us a story where nica acts like a vampire, hehe.
i haven't translated nica in a hot minute so there were a bit of challenges in how i should portray him if that makes sense, but i hope i did him some justice! i'm hoping maybe i can try to translate his main story when it comes out, so i figured better get a bit of practice in these little bites as they come.

I think two of the most important things about Jack Harkness, two things that inform almost everything he does and the choices he makes, are this: that he is a soldier NOT a leader, and that his entire life since childhood has been awash in survivor's guilt (and his whole existence after becoming immortal is an even more extreme version of survivor's guilt).
Jack is not a natural leader. He can think on the fly and he's good at getting people to listen to him, but he's not good at control, or at being objective. He's a natural second in command, he's a soldier. He was brought up to do what other people told him to, and to improvise if he had to (Time Agency, etc). But I really don't think he wants to be the leader of Torchwood. Unfortunately, everything about him means that he has to be. He knows from experience that others having control over him is dangerous, others knowing about his immortality while he's a subordinate to them is dangerous, and he also knows that his own immortality gives him an advantage as a leader. But I don't think he's good at leading. He tries to be. But he's fumbling along, in a time period he's not native to and a planet he's not native to and an unfathomable lifespan, and as charming as he is I think he's often not good with people. He's detached where he should be personal and emotional where he should be detached (or at least more level-headed). He's often too extreme or not harsh enough when it comes to things like discipline or dealing with the problems/traumas/mistakes of his employees or even civilians. He can't handle his employees seeing him uncertain/vulnerable and it makes for huge problems over and over again.
But all of this does make sense because I think in the back of Jack's mind there's always this wheel spinning, these gears turning and turning and calculating the impact and trauma each of his actions or decisions or the events around him are going to have on his own emotions for far longer than normal humans tend to consider. Because the catalyst for any part of the life we see him leading is survivor's guilt. He lost his father and his brother on the same day, joined the military and lost his best friend, joined the Time Agency and lost his memories (and maybe thinks he did something terrible). Then he died, and when Rose brought him back, he was all alone on the satellite with nothing but the corpses of the people who had fought beside him and zero explanation as to why he survived, and he had lost Rose and the Doctor besides. And then all his life on earth since, he has lost coworkers and lovers and civilians he tried and failed to save and probably also aliens he tried and failed to save. And I think by the time he becomes reluctant leader of Torchwood, every action is, whether conscious or subconscious, taken with the intent of minimizing that kind of trauma and the impact of loss.
Except that I think that the survivor's guilt has another layer to it, which is that feeling of needing to sacrifice or absolve himself in some way. No one else is willing to make the difficult decisions, no one else will move forward with the painful and unpleasant actions, even if there's no other way, even though they will someday perish and no longer see the ripples of their actions. But Jack - who cannot die, who must live with the guilt or the pain or the trauma of those actions and decisions for the rest of his very very very long life - is the one who realizes that he must take on those painful responsibilities and must do certain things even though they're terrible, because it ends up being the sacrifice of one over the whole world. And every single time, he's guilty about it, and that makes him want even more to sacrifice his own hurt for the grief and loss of others.
So it's this strange cycle of wanting to protect himself from hurt and from loss and from the survivor's guilt, but being driven by guilt towards painful and/or self-sacrificing actions. Which then makes him fear being seen as vulnerable or uncertain, and he struggles to do things on a smaller scale or in a more level-headed way, because he's not supposed to be leading like this, it's not something that comes naturally, and if he makes emotional connections by being a leader, he'll end up trapped in survivor's guilt yet again each time one of his employees or friends or lovers dies.
It's just a terrible cycle and he's trapped in it for the rest of his existence. Although if he really is the Face Of Boe, then I imagine at some point he eventually finds peace with it all or something, but I think so long as he has a human-form he's stuck with this cycle of leadership and loss and sacrifice and mistakes.
I think it's really important that Jack is not good at his job as a leader. He makes a ton of mistakes, he fucks up so much and his employees or even civilians end up collateral damage, whether physically or just emotionally. He wants to be a good leader, I think, and he's trying, but he's fallible, and he's a stranger in literally every sense, and I think a really big part of his character is that he constantly is forced to live in this bizarre dichotomy where he has to be both very distant and cold and detached, and also very emotional and intense and personal. And any other person would collapse under the stress of repeating that over and over and over again for decades, but he has to figure out how to navigate this weight as an infinite existence that can't ever collapse or let it burn him up and kill him.
#torchwood#torchwood meta#jack harkness#it's 4am i'm just rambling tbh#don't even get me started on the whole being buried underground for thousands of years thing either#i'm writing a fic about this theme of jack's guilt/survivor's guilt (kind of) so this idea has been on my mind#but like i said it's very early in the morning so i don't know if this is very eloquent or makes much sense to anyone but me#but i generally have a lot of torchwood thoughts/feelings/opinions so sometimes they just need to be released into the world even half bake

The Bodyguard pt-2
Part 1 & 3 link in the end.
SimonGhostRileyxfemalereader
This chap contains a lot of slowburn
"You're not alone inside, are you?" Ghost asked, his voice low and steady. His eyes narrowed slightly as he took in the layout of the house, mentally calculating the risks.
"I'm here most of the time," you said, glancing at him. "But I've got a few trusted people in place."
He nodded, clearly assessing the situation. "Good. But trust is earned, not given. If Garcia gets past the outside, you'll need more than just a few guards. A team, at least."
You met his gaze, his expression unreadable. "I can handle myself, but I'll take your advice."
He gave a small nod. "You might be able to handle yourself, but you need the right backup. If you want to survive Garcia, you need to be prepared for anything."
A flicker of something, resolve, maybe passed through your eyes. "I've been preparing for this for a long time."
His eyes softened just slightly under the mask. "Good. Then we'll make sure it's enough."
"I was in my car when they were shot in front of my eyes," you whispered, your voice trembling as the memory came rushing back. "I-I had a panic attack... and I went into shock..."
The words hung heavy in the air, and for a moment, Ghost stood motionless, his mask impassive, but the surprise in his eyes softened, giving way to something deeper-something almost like understanding. He nodded slowly, his posture shifting slightly as if adjusting to the weight of your revelation. His voice, when he spoke, was lower, softer, a rare shift in tone. "A panic attack and shock," he echoed, his words slow and measured. "That's a normal response, considering what you went through."
You shook your head, your voice barely above a whisper. "I can't recall... it gives me PTSD."
The words seemed to hit him like a blow, and his eyes narrowed behind the mask. There was a brief flicker of something grim, something darker, before he spoke again. "PTSD," he repeated, his voice taking on an almost reverent tone, as if the weight of the term itself deserved respect. "That's understandable. Experiencing trauma like that... it's life-altering."
You flinched, instinctively rubbing your forehead as the memories surged forward. The tears came too quickly, but you wiped them away before they could fall, trying to regain your composure.
Ghost's eyes followed the movement, noting the subtle tremor in your hand, the way you fought against the raw emotion that threatened to break through. He noticed the brief flicker of pain in your expression, and it made something inside him tighten, something he rarely allowed to stir. The gruff, impassive persona he had carefully crafted seemed to slip, replaced by something far more human-more concerned. Without thinking, he took a small step closer, his voice softer now, tinged with a note of care. "You okay?" he asked, the question a low murmur, his eyes scanning your face with an intensity that seemed to demand more than just an answer.
You blinked rapidly, swallowing down the lump in your throat. "I am fine," you said quickly, though the words lacked conviction. "Your room is upstairs, make yourself at home, Lieutenant. I'll see you tomorrow."
With that, you turned and started to walk away, making your way towards the pool area, heading for your room downstairs. Ghost watched you, his eyes following the curve of your figure, the faintest frown pulling at the corners of his mouth beneath the mask. He wasn't used to seeing vulnerability in people like you-not billionaires, not those who lived in a world of opulence and luxury, where real danger felt like a distant, foreign concept. Most of them were pampered, untouched by the harshness of life's cruelties. But you... you were different.
He shook his head slightly, as if to rid himself of the thought, and forced his focus back on the mission. His footsteps were quiet as he made his way upstairs, each one deliberate, careful. The familiar routine of moving through a house on guard, silent as a shadow, was a comfort to him, and he allowed it to take over as he ascended the stairs, leaving the tension behind him.
Later, in the stillness of his room, Ghost sat on the edge of the king-sized bed, the room dark except for the soft, muted light filtering through the blinds. The bed was large, spacious, but it felt empty, and his mind was far from the comfort it should have offered. His fingers drummed absently against the duvet as his eyes narrowed, his thoughts consumed by your reaction. The image of you flinching, of your hand brushing away the tears that had threatened to fall, lingered in his mind, like a splinter lodged deep in his thoughts, impossible to ignore.
He wasn't used to this-not to concern, not to empathy. Emotions were weaknesses in his line of work, tools of distraction that could get you killed. But there was something about you, something about the way you wore your pain so openly, that unsettled him. He had dealt with the fallout of trauma countless times, but this... this was different.
His gaze darkened as he exhaled sharply, the weight of his thoughts pressing down on him. He had a job to do. That was his priority, his focus. Yet, as much as he tried to push it away, he found himself wondering how you were faring downstairs. Was the trauma still haunting you? Was it keeping you awake, even now, as he sat alone in his room?
The thought struck him almost with humor, though it was a humorless, bitter laugh. When had he started caring about the nightmares of a billionaire?
The soft glow of early morning light spilled through the kitchen windows, illuminating your figure as you stood in your black silk nightgown and robe. The fabric clung to your body in all the right places, the delicate lace tracing the outline of your curves as you reached for the creamer on the top shelf. The slight stretch of your arm accentuated the smooth arch of your back, the silk of your gown whispering against your skin. The scene felt almost too intimate, too personal, the kitchen now an unexpected stage for the quiet tension that simmered between you.
Ghost's footsteps were silent as always, his presence like a shadow, subtle yet undeniable. He stopped just inside the doorway, his eyes dark and unreadable behind the mask, watching you with an intensity that made the air feel charged. His gaze flicked over you with a trained precision, noting the way the silk robe clung to your frame, the soft curve of your neck as you tilted your head to reach the jar. It wasn't just your figure that caught his attention; it was the quiet grace with which you moved, a delicate vulnerability in a moment so simple yet so raw.
You didn't notice his presence until his voice cut through the stillness, deep and low. "Need some help?"
You startled slightly, a soft laugh escaping your lips as you tried to make light of the situation. "Ah! Yes. Seems like the creamer decided to run upstairs." The casual words did little to mask the way your pulse quickened as he moved closer, his body towering over you in a way that made the space between you feel charged with heat. The scent of his cologne mingled with the clean, floral fragrance of your perfume, and suddenly, the kitchen seemed too small, the silence too heavy.
Ghost didn't respond immediately. His gaze lingered on you, following the curve of your waist, the delicate movement of your shoulders as you shifted to reach the jar. Every second felt stretched thin, the quiet tension building between you, until finally, he took a step forward. His presence behind you was overwhelming, his body heat radiating against your back, the soft brush of his chest against yours enough to make your breath hitch. He reached up with ease, his hand brushing against your side as he took the jar from the shelf, his fingers grazing your skin in a way that sent a shiver down your spine.
For a moment, time seemed to freeze. The proximity between you both was almost suffocating, the gentle press of his body against yours sending an electric pulse through you. You could feel the muscles of his chest shifting under his shirt as he stood so close, his breath warm against the back of your neck. The subtle brush of his fingertips as he steadied you made your heart race faster, and you struggled to steady your breath, your senses heightened in a way that made every movement feel magnified.
Ghost held the jar in his hand, his fingers long and strong, wrapping around it with ease as he pulled it down from the shelf. The way his hands moved, so assured and commanding, made it clear how capable he was. But it was his proximity to you, the way his body loomed over yours, that made everything feel more intense. Every inch of space between you felt charged, alive with something that neither of you had yet acknowledged. The heat from his body radiated against you, and your breath hitched in your throat, a subtle flutter in your chest that you couldn't ignore.
He didn't speak immediately, his gaze still fixed on you. You could feel the weight of his stare, the intensity in his eyes even as he held the jar out to you. "Here," he muttered, his voice thick and a little rougher than usual, a low growl that seemed to vibrate in the air between you. The sound sent a shiver down your spine, and you found yourself instinctively biting your lip as you reached for the creamer jar.
As your fingers brushed against his, something passed between you, a spark of electricity that made the air around you crackle. You quickly took the jar from his hand, your fingers lingering just a moment too long on his skin, before you slipped past him to the counter. But even that small, fleeting contact was enough to make your heart race. His eyes followed you, unwavering, his body still poised and tense behind you as you walked away. It was almost as if he couldn't tear his gaze from the way the silk of your gown swayed with each step, the fabric hugging your body in a way that taunted him.
The brief moment of shared tension hung in the air, thick and unspoken. Ghost didn't move immediately, his eyes lingering on your retreating form as a quiet battle waged within him. His usual stoic demeanor wavered for just a second, as if the brief moment of proximity had unsettled something deep inside him. He took a slow breath, forcing himself to turn away, his footsteps light as he moved toward the kitchen door. Yet, the image of you, the soft sway of your body, the heat of your presence, the way you had reacted so instinctively to his touch, stayed with him long after you were out of sight.
He wasn't used to this kind of distraction, wasn't used to feeling anything but the mission, but with you, everything seemed more complicated, more dangerous. And that made it all the more irresistible.
You made coffee for yourself and for Ghost, the smell of the rich brew filling the kitchen as you prepared the cups. Soon, the chef and the rest of the staff arrived, and breakfast was served. Afterward, you excused yourself to change into your office attire.
Fifteen minutes later, you returned, your entrance commanding attention. The moment Ghost saw you, his breath hitched. You had traded your more casual clothes for a striking ensemble: a black, short skirt that hugged your hips perfectly, paired with a black lace corset top that accentuated your curves in a way that made his pulse quicken. The black blazer you wore only added to the professional yet seductive aura that surrounded you.
His heart nearly stopped. Ghost was no stranger to beautiful women, but there was something about the way you wore this outfit that made his thoughts falter. His eyes traced every inch of you, the hunger he tried so hard to suppress evident in his gaze. He forced himself to maintain his composure, clearing his throat before speaking.
"Quite the transformation," he remarked, his voice rougher than usual, a slight edge of something darker beneath the surface.
You didn't meet his eyes immediately. Instead, you simply nodded, a small, confident smile playing at your lips. "Let's go," you said, turning towards the elevator.
As you reached the underground parking garage, Ghost followed in silence. The click of your heels echoed against the smooth floors as you walked toward the Bugatti Veyron, the keys jingling in your hand. You climbed into the driver's seat effortlessly, looking every bit the part of someone who was both capable and dangerous.
Ghost lingered for a moment, watching you with a mix of admiration and something deeper. "You're drivin' yourself?" he asked, his voice betraying a touch of surprise. "And I thought you were all about chauffeurs and limos."
You glanced over your shoulder at him, a teasing glint in your eyes. "I like to drive myself sometimes."
Throughout the drive, Ghost stayed quiet, his eyes scanning the surroundings, but his mind was elsewhere, fixed on you. It was hard for him to concentrate with you so close, your scent lingering in the air, the quiet hum of the engine, and the soft movements of your body as you maneuvered the car. The rhythmic motion of your driving was almost hypnotic, and he could feel the tension in his body building, coiling tighter with each passing moment.
The office day was long but predictable. You moved with confidence, handling business matters with ease. Ghost watched you from the periphery, his eyes always alert, but they couldn't help but follow you as you moved, graceful, composed, every step calculated. There was something captivating about the way you carried yourself, even in the midst of all the work. The way the office attire clung to your figure... It was impossible to ignore.
By the time the workday ended and you returned home, the atmosphere had shifted. The silence between you and Ghost was thick with unspoken tension. You took a quick shower and had dinner, the food almost an afterthought. Ghost, meanwhile, did his security checks, ensuring everything was in order.
Later, he found you in the living room, watching a movie. He leaned casually against the kitchen counter, his eyes fixed on you. "Watching a movie, eh?" he asked, his voice rough, tinged with something more than just curiosity. "Anything interesting?"
You didn't look up at him, your focus still on the screen. "Yeah. It's a romantic movie," you replied.
As the movie progressed, the scene shifted, and Ghost found himself unable to look away. The screen displayed an intense, passionate kiss, hands grasping, bodies pressing together. The intimacy of the scene stirred something deep inside him, something primal and raw. He shifted uncomfortably, trying to ignore the surge of heat spreading through him.
Just as the scene became more intense, the remote slipped from your hand as you tried to turn it off. Your frustration was palpable, the soft sounds of the couple's passion filling the room. The girl's moans echoed, and your face turned bright red, your embarrassment unmistakable.
Ghost's eyes locked on the screen for a moment longer, his jaw tightening as the sounds filled the room. The scene played out with such intimacy, the kind of heat that had no place in his world, but it had a way of tugging at something buried deep within him. He turned to you, his gaze darkened with something fierce.
"Fucking hell," you muttered, trying again with the remote, but it wasn't working. Your cheeks burned with embarrassment, and Ghost couldn't stop himself from taking a step toward you.
"Turn it off," he ordered, his voice low, almost a growl.
"I'm trying," you stammered, the panic in your eyes clear as the scene escalated further.
Ghost stepped closer, his presence overwhelming, as if the air around you had thickened. He towered over you, his hands moving with purpose as he grabbed the remote from your trembling fingers. The brief contact between your skin sent a jolt of electricity straight to his core, igniting something he had been trying to suppress.
With one swift motion, he turned the TV off, and the room fell into an almost suffocating silence. His eyes locked on yours, watching you carefully, studying the way your body reacted to the close proximity.
"You shouldn't be watchin' stuff like that," he muttered, his voice hoarse with unspoken desires. He closed the distance between you even more, his body a solid presence, his warmth enveloping you.
You took a small step back, your chest rising and falling with quick breaths, but Ghost didn't give you any space to retreat. He moved in closer, his large frame nearly consuming yours. The air between you was thick with tension, and his voice was barely above a whisper when he asked, "Why are you breathin' like that? Are you scared?"
Without responding, you turned quickly and fled to your room, your heart racing in your chest.
Ghost stood in place for a moment, watching you leave, a mixture of frustration and something darker brewing inside him. He didn't move, his gaze fixed on your retreating form, unsure whether to follow or leave it be. The urge to chase after you gnawed at him, but he remained still, his body taut with restraint.
The door to your room clicked shut, and Ghost stood there, his mind in turmoil. He couldn't understand why he was feeling this way, this ache, this hunger that was building with every passing second.
The next morning It was your day off, a rare moment of respite, and you had decided to spend it quietly in your room. You sat in front of your dressing table, your movements slow and deliberate as you applied lipstick, the brush strokes careful as you enhanced your already striking features. You were dressed in little more than black lace lingerie, a delicate, lacy bra and matching panties, your skin almost glowing against the dark fabric. Absentmindedly, you had left your door unlocked, not expecting anyone to intrude.
Then, without warning, the standing mirror behind you tilted dangerously. It seemed to fall in slow motion before shattering loudly, the glass spraying across the floor in a cacophony of sound. The sudden crash made you jump, a sharp scream escaping your lips as you recoiled, heart hammering in your chest.
At the sound of your scream, Ghost's training kicked in without hesitation. His body went rigid, instincts sharp and primed for action. In an instant, he was on his feet, his senses alert. Without pausing to think, he rushed towards your room, his boots pounding against the floor, the door crashing open with a force that matched the urgency of his steps.
For a brief moment, he froze. The sight of you, standing there in nothing but skimpy lingerie, sent a jolt of heat straight through him. The shattered mirror reflected the image of your bare skin, the delicate lace of your undergarments clinging to your curves. His eyes darkened, and for a moment, he couldn't tear them away. His breath hitched, but he quickly forced himself to look away, a wave of frustration sweeping over him.
"Oh my god!" you squeaked, instinctively wrapping your arms around your body in a vain attempt to shield yourself.
"Cover yourself!" Ghost growled, his voice rough with something deep and primal as he turned away, his jaw clenched tightly. His hands fisted at his sides, the mix of anger and arousal burning through him like wildfire. "Fucking hell," he muttered under his breath, trying desperately to regain control over his emotions.
You grabbed the silk bedsheet from the bed and wrapped it around yourself, your body trembling as the cool fabric touched your heated skin. Ghost could feel his heart pounding, his pulse racing as he stood with his back to you, his body rigid with restraint. His thoughts were a tangled mess, torn between the urge to protect you, to be angry, and the darker, more dangerous part of him that reacted to the vulnerability you were now showing.
"I--I'm covered. You can look," you said, your voice small, your grip tightening around the sheet.
Ghost slowly exhaled, forcing himself to calm down. His mind screamed at him to walk away, to maintain his usual impassive demeanor, but he couldn't shake the image of you, of how you looked standing there, so exposed and vulnerable. It ignited something in him that had been buried for so long.
He turned around, his gaze cold and sharp, but he refused to let his eyes drop lower than your face. He could feel the tension building between them, thick and heavy, making it harder to concentrate.
"What the hell happened?" he demanded, his voice low and gravelly, the edge of frustration clear in his tone. "Why were you just standing there in nothing but...?" He trailed off, unwilling to say it outright, but his words hung in the air, a silent challenge.
"I don't know, I'm sorry. I was just going to dress up," you muttered, your face flushed with embarrassment as you grabbed your dress from the bed.
The unspoken tension simmered between the two of you, thickening the atmosphere in the room. Ghost's thoughts raced, his gaze flickering briefly to the bed sheet still clutched tightly around you, and an unfamiliar possessiveness washed over him. He didn't want anyone, anyone, to see you like this, so vulnerable, so exposed.
His next words came out in a low growl. "Put the dress on." His voice was firm, commanding, yet there was an undercurrent of something else, something more dangerous.
"I'm going to put it on," you replied, a sense of urgency in your voice as you darted towards the attached bathroom.
Ghost stood frozen for a moment, his mind still reeling from what had just happened. He was acutely aware of the ache in his chest, the simmering tension that refused to dissipate. Everything had changed between you, and he couldn't deny the heat building in him every time he thought about it.
Shaking his head, he tried to clear his mind, focusing on the task at hand. He stepped out of the room, his thoughts a maelstrom of conflicting emotions. He found one of the servants and calmly informed them about the broken mirror, his voice betraying nothing of the internal chaos he was experiencing. His body still thrummed with tension, but he had to maintain control, to keep the façade intact.
Even though his words were neutral, his mind couldn't help but replay the image of you in that lingerie, the way your body had looked in the soft lighting of the room, the way it had affected him. He could still feel the heat rising inside him, an ache he didn't know how to satisfy.
As he walked away, he felt the weight of the encounter hanging in the air, like an invisible thread connecting you both. Something had shifted between you, and he knew, deep down, that it would never be the same again.

Pairing: Chuuya x f!reader
Contents: NSFW, penetration (reader receiving), Chuuya-levels of cursing, don't say he's cute, he'd get grumpy about it and fuck you stupid to prove a point, incessant flirting, Approx 1.1k words
It really started off as a joke.
An off-hand comment you made. You didn’t intend on paying more attention to it… were it not Chuuya’s reaction; an eyebrow raised as he leaned into his seat, that god-awful grin of his spreading wide as he regarded you.
Your date was going well, all things considered. A nice restaurant, your own secluded corner to settle in at and relax, a gift of overly extravagant flowers–always the charmer that one, Chuuya even pulled the chair for you–it was perfect. A sense of being with the right person doing the right thing.
Finally having the time for each other.
And doing normal, romantic things was part of this evening’s plans.
Except it was Chuuya you were speaking of. Nothing that simple ever happened around him.
“So you think I’m boring?” he asked, playing the amused card to the tenth. There was none of his usual bark, only the teasing tone you had grown accustomed to.
“Misleading–” you began, leaning into his personal space to poke at his chest. “–is what I was referring to. This grand, scary mafioso… that also happens to spend half an hour choosing which shoes go best with which vest. You portray the part of barking dog really well but you’re actually a cutie.” And you winked, just to nail it down.
Chuuya clicked his tongue. He didn’t like it when you babied him, you knew that. But his reactions were too good to miss out on.
“Hah? That the type of man ya take me for?” he grumbled, not quite masking the slight annoyance this time around.
You hummed, trailing a finger down his chest. “Devastated, are you?”
Chuuya grabbed your hand, raising it to plant a kiss to your wrist. His eyes didn’t leave yours as he said, “Damn right I am. Calling me ‘cute’ out here like ya don’t know any better.”
You cocked your head, eyebrow raised in feigned confusion. “What? You gonna do something about it?” You knew perfectly well where this was going.
A whispered “fuck” left Chuuya’s lips, audible only for you to hear. And it was then it got settled– you weren’t suited for the romance part. Not the innocent, charming one at least. You needed a bit… more.
It became even clearer when less than an hour later your hands fumbled for your keys, Chuuya glued to your back as he trailed sloppy, open-mouthed kisses down your neck.
“I really hoped we’d be doing the ‘sweet date and movie night combo’, you know? Have you snuggled up against me and all,” you said, wasting no time as you both stumbled through the entrance, your hands finding their way around Chuuya’s neck. He kicked the door shut before trapping you against the nearby wall, lips seeking yours.
“I’ll snuggle you up all night long, doll.” You could taste the wine on his tongue, the hurried way he kissed you leaving no space for distraction. Demanding your full attention was a staple mark of Chuuya’s, you couldn’t deny it.
“You seem preoccupied with other things, though,” you said, unbuttoning his vest.
Chuuya’s hands were already on your bra, unclasping the hooks before you felt a hand cup your breast, the barely-there caress of a thumb over your stiffened bud sending tingles of pleasure down your body in seconds. “How about you just ask me nicely, hm?”
“Ah, you want me to beg now?” you asked, a finger trailing the outline of his lower lip, and you savored the way his breath trembled. Teasing like this would be wise only for now, you doubted he’d let you off the hook as easily soon enough. Not when you could feel his cock through the fabric of his trousers, hard against your thigh and probably leaking.
Chuuya kissed your finger before biting it lightly, and you chuckled. “Don’t wanna leave me guessing what you want, do you? I might end up biting somewhere ya don’t want me to, sweets.”
You arched your hips forward, drawing a low groan from Chuuya. “We’ll have to wait and see then. I’m very open-minded, you know.”
“And stubborn,” Chuuya grinned, rocking against you. “Fu-uck, this feels good. I forgot what my point was, damnit.”
“Ha, loser.”
“Fuck off, bigger loser.”
You were about to make fun of him again, seeing as he lost brain cells faster the hornier he got, but… you felt him pinch your nipple this time, rolling your bud between his skilled fingers as he dived for your neck again. The throbbing between your legs distracted you, intensifying even more as Chuuya’s tongue trailed along your pulse, leaving damp skin to prickle against the cold air.
Rough wall against your back turned into soft sheets in a flurry of fragmented moments. Only Chuuya’s presence remained firm beside you. He settled between your legs, hands hurriedly discarding any remaining garments as fast as you both could, all the while without letting go of each other. Not once.
You barely had your underwear down before Chuuya was rocking forward, cock settling between your pussy lips as he rubbed against you. Your wetness spread over his tip only to draw a low moan from his parted lips.
“Impatient,” you said, hooking your ankles around his hips.
“You wanted the real deal tonight,” he grinned at you. “Going around calling me boring and cute all evening. Like hell I’ll leave it at that.”
“You gonna change my mind, fancy hat boy?”
“Ooh, you betcha,” Chuuya said, and slowly sank into the heat of your throbbing cunt.
You knew Chuuya was a talker; never shutting up even when you really would rather just hold him, hand clasped over his mouth as he fucked you in peace.
But not this time. It was quick and rough, him bottoming out in you with every slick thrust. He barely gave you time to take your bearings, his hand finding your clit only to start rubbing mercilessly in sync with his movements. Trying to stifle your moans was proving near impossible. Only Chuuya’s lips served as help, swallowing your every sound as he kissed you stupid.
“Oh, fuck…” you panted, pulling away.
“Nuh-huh, where ya going, sweets?” Chuuya ground his hips against yours, drawing another pained moan from your throat. “I’m doing you good, yeah? Come on, keep up with me.”
Your nails dug into his back even as your body trembled all over. “A bit too good there.”
“Yeah?” Chuuya trailed kisses down your jawline, his pace slowed. For now, at least. “Wanna ask me nicely about it?” he whispered.
Fuck. “I’m in for it, aren’t I?” you asked, knowing full well the answer.
Chuuya only grinned.
Yeah, it was about to be a long night.

“I still can’t get this stupid arm to work right,” Liz groaned. She’d managed to get to the lab on time today, and she’d been able to get dressed herself, but only barely. Her lab coat and uniform were both disheveled, the new bionic hand unable to get every button resulting in half of them being left undone. She’d ended up having to tie her shoe laces in knots to keep them on her feet because her fingers couldn’t bend the way she wanted or grip the thin laces. The only reason Liz was wearing the lab coat these days was to hide the cross section where her arm ended and the cybernetics began. Looking at it was… upsetting, to say the least.
“It’s only been a few cycles, Human Liz,” Coco said. “It’s my understanding that losing limbs is fatal to most other species of non-botanicals. Having the ability to complain right now is a gift.”
“It’s been over a week,” Liz said. “And I know, everyone keeps reminding me I’m lucky to be alive, you, the captain, Jane, I know how lucky I am, but this,” she waved the hunk of metal she called a hand, “is starting to piss me off.”
“You are upset,” Coco said. They were standing beside the center lab table. Liz couldn’t even see the claw marks the predator creature had left on their trunk anymore. “This is to be expected.”
Coco walked over to their wall computer, avoiding the small automated cleaner Liz had made to tidy up the dirt they tracked everywhere.
“Remind me again, this device you have made to remove the dirt, why have you attached a weapon to it?” Coco asked.
“Thought it’d be funny,” Liz said, “which it was.”
“And you have designated it…?”
“Stabby, ‘cause of the steak knife.”
“Why?”
“Old Earth legend. Makes us humans laugh,” Liz said, smiling as she leaned her chin on her good arm.
“You will have to explain that story to me again some time.” Coco clicked a button on their screen and a wall panel slid up between them, revealing the clutch of 5 eggs they’d taken from MX13 sitting in their tank. They were about the size of baseballs, or stone fruits. Liz had stuck a strip of electrical tape on the front and written ‘arm eating bastard eggs’.
“You know I’m half tempted to eat them,” Liz said.
“Please do not engage in predator behavior around me,” Coco asked. “It still makes me nervous sometimes watching you try to swat at insects.”
“Really? Why?” Liz chuckled.
“I know you are more evolved than a simple animal, but when I observe you stalk and hunt down the… mosquitoes? It reminds me of the predators we have on Spryga. It is unsettling.”
Liz stopped and thought for a moment. She hadn’t considered that before. It was probably a normal complaint among former prey species working alongside humans. Whoops.
“Well, sorry. Humans are weird like that, but I’ll try to be more conscious about it,” Liz said.
“Thank you. I do not mean to… step on your hands, but I appreciate it.”
“Step on your toes, hon.”
“Right.”
Liz pulled the tank out of the wall while Coco set the lab up, turning on heat lamps and setting the environmental controls in the room to MX13 standard, except for the air. Upon further analysis of the predator creature from the moon, it didn’t need the methane in the air to breathe. From what was left of its ‘lungs’, they breathed more like frogs, through their skin, stripping oxygen from out of the water they swam in. Apparently they were more reptilian than Liz had expected. There were underground rivers and lakes all across the subsurface of the moon, hunting grounds for the creatures. Liz guessed they came above ground to lay their eggs, away from the competition.
Furry reptiles, Liz thought. Why the hair though? It doesn’t make sense. Maybe to keep warm? The underground water has to be freezing.
“What do you think the GAIL will want to do with them after… if they hatch?” Liz asked.
“Standard procedure would be to return them to their natural habitat after a nano scrub to remove any and all unnatural scent from their bodies, so they can be reaccepted back into their species later,” Coco explained. “But hatchlings would be another question entirely. Perhaps they would be sent to an outpost for further study, or released into a controlled habitat somewhere.”
“What, like a zoo?” Liz asked. “You have zoos in the GAIL?”
“Possibly, I’m not sure what this zoo is.”
“We had them on Earth a long ways back. It was pitched as a way to study animals up close, but it was really just cheap entertainment for the masses. Eventually it kinda grew into a way to help endangered species, but it was still pretty on the line.”
“Then no, we don’t have zoos. What I’m speaking of are rehabilitated planets or moons with an ecosystem created to cater to the needs of the species we simply can’t put back where they are from.”
“That still kinda sounds like a zoo, but I guess if nobody is throwing peanuts at the elephants it’s still an improvement.”
The lab was set up for observation, the eggs were supposedly viable, so while they waited to see what would happen, the two got back to their other work. Reasonably they could’ve just left the eggs in the temperature controlled wall slot, but Liz had said that’d be boring, considering it was ‘the most she’d ever paid for less than a full carton of eggs.’
Coco stepped into their pot and watched the eggs, Liz in her desk chair tinkering with her new arm. She was sure if she could just get the pathways right, she’d be able to get the thing working properly. The cable running from her arm to her computer was annoyingly equated to a leash in her mind.
If I could just open a can of soda by myself, that’d be a huge win.
As they sat there doing important scientific work, there was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” Coco said, unmoving in their corner. The door opened and, oddly enough, another human walked in. He stood just inside the doorway looking around sheepishly. Liz glanced at him and was surprised to see a maintenance droid sitting on his shoulder.
“Hey, I’m sorry to bother you guys, uhh, I’m Thomas, from engineering,” said the man.
“Well, hi, I guess,” Liz said, a little confused. “What are you doing all the way up here Thomas? We didn’t make any maintenance requests.”
“No, you didn’t, but I think you need one anyway,” Thomas said. “See, I was just in the med bay for the last couple cycles, and I overheard the nurses talking about the human who needed a cybernetic arm. I’m assuming that was you and not one of the other two, right?”
“What gave it away?” Liz said dryly, waving her metal hand. “And what are you doing, asking about me anyway? You want to see the robot arm or something, get an upgrade for your little buddy there?”
“Oh, no no no, I’m sorry, I just figured you’d need the fix for it,” Thomas said. He walked further into the room, albeit cautiously. “I asked about the model arm they gave you, the MK6, and there’s a small chance the one you have has a problem.”
“… huh?” Liz said, actually confused now.
“Yeah, the MK6 is a great design, but the company putting out the arms had a faulty inspection system, a couple hundred came off the line with a bug in the wiring.”
“I’ve ran a dozen tests on this thing, I would’ve found any code defect.”
“No, I mean, an actual insect, little crawly thing, in the arm. The factory where they were made had a pest problem so they were fumigating for a while. The whole plant is totally automated, so they didn’t stop production while they did it. Bugs went everywhere trying to escape, and some went into the product to avoid the pesticides. Prosthetics got sealed up, and so did the bugs. It’s probably gunked up the wiring in your arm, that’s why you can’t… you know,” Thomas explained, gesturing to her uniform.
“There… there’s a bug in my fucking arm?” Liz said, disgusted.
“I’m just saying there might be,” Thomas said, hands up like he was going to defend himself.
“Beep.”
“Yeah, I know buddy, but we gotta get permission first.”
“Did the small drone speak?” Coco asked.
“Oh my god you’re a Sprygan!” Thomas said, surprised. “I’m so sorry, I thought you were just a houseplant.”
“It’s no problem, I am not offended,” Coco said.
“Uhh, yeah, his name is Roomba, he asked why we don’t just fix the arm and go. We’re still learning patience and manners, apparently.”
“Beep.”
“Apology accepted. Thank you Roomba.”
“Can somebody just check my arm for bugs now please, before I throw up?” Liz half squealed, panicking. She could charge a hostile alien creature no problem, but the thought of insects touching her was enough to make her stomach churn.
“Yup, right, okay, gimme a sec,” Thomas said, coming into the room fully now. “Roll your sleeve up, I gotta remove the casing for this.”
Liz rolled the sleeve of her lab coat up past her elbow, grimacing as she caught sight of the connection plate set into the bone. The skin around it was still red and scarring.
Thomas pulled a small set of tools out of his back pocket and got to work. With a thin pick, he popped the forearm plate up, exposing the circuits running the length of the device, what Liz had in place of muscle tissue now. He took a small pair of needle nose pliers and started poking around, gently moving aside some wires here, around a bolt there. Liz turned her head away. As fascinating as the mechanism was, the idea of seeing an insect inside her body was going to make her sick.
“Okay, talk, bot boy, how come you knew about the defects?” Liz demanded. “I need stimuli to keep from thinking about this revolting situation, so talk.”
“I, uhh, wrote a paper at the academy, about how designers only see solutions to what they think could be the problem,” Thomas said, moving up her forearm. “A lot of people don’t realize they’re starter than they give themselves credit for, especially actually smart people. Knowing what could go wrong, they start to doubt themselves, and when things do break, they wrack their brains over all the little things they think they did wrong. So I wrote a paper about all the other things that could go bad… like this little guy right here.”
Thomas clamped onto something and slowly fished it out of the device. Liz turned her head even further away, but it didn’t matter. Coco, ever present, and blunt as always, described it to her.
“It appears quite dead. Human Liz, you seem to have had a beetle of some kind in your prosthetic limb,” they said.
“Hon, I love you, but please don’t tell me the details,” Liz said, covering her mouth with her good hand.
“The lady who designed the MK6 is a certified genius, so I used her factory in my thesis paper. After they started getting complaints about some of their prosthetics, they ran every test they could think of, even rewrote the software a few times. It wasn’t until a no name engineer opened one up that they found the problem. Wasn’t anyone’s fault, it’s just a difference between working software and working hardware.”
“And you wrote an engineering thesis paper on that?” Liz asked, dry heaving ever so slightly.
“No, I wrote my psychology paper on that. I wrote my engineering paper on a new WARP drive design I made up.” Thomas threw the dead insect in the trash. “Bigger brains just see bigger problems. Takes a… well, not dumber person, just maybe a different kind of person to see the small problems.”
“Clearly. Anyone with two degrees isn’t what I’d call dumb either,” Liz said, turning her head back.
Thomas used a little brush to clean up the arm a little, squeezing a small tube of sanitizing gel into the empty space between wires.
“Roomba, sterilize this for me, would you?”
The little drone carefully climbed down from his shoulder and dropped onto the table. It held its little hand up as one of its finger tips ignited, making a small controlled torch. Liz held her arm out, looking concerned. The little droid ran its finger over the affected area and after a moment, the little flame went out.
“Beep.”
“Good job buddy. He said it’s totally clean now, 100% sterilized,” Thomas said.
“Oh thank god,” Liz breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks little guy, I owe you one.”
“Beep.”
“He said you’re welcome,” Thomas translated, handing the small droid a data pad. The pad wirred and trilled, and Liz realized the droid was playing a video game.
Odd little fella, huh, she thought.
“You should be able to get the arm working by the end of the day now. It’s had plenty of time to adjust to your neural pathways, it just couldn’t execute any functions till the block was removed. It’ll work just like your old one now,” Thomas said, putting the little tool kit back in his pocket.
“Guess I should say thanks for that,” Liz said, rolling her sleeve back down. “So… thanks. I owe you one too. Any of you guys down in maintenance need a hand, I’ve got a shiny new one to offer.”
“Human Thomas,” Coco chimed in, “thank you for fixing my friend. Your service has been greatly appreciated.”
“You’re very welcome,” Thomas smiled at them, “both of you. I better get back down to the maintenance deck though, we’re still repairing the core room from that flare the other cycle.” Thomas turned to leave, and was almost at the door when Liz called after him.
“Hey, hardware!”
He stopped in the doorway.
“Weird thing to call me, but I can dig it. Yeah?”
“How many degrees do you have?” Liz asked.
“Four, why?” He said.
“Know anything about eggs?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thomas left after a while, saying he’d be back to help build a better inclosure for the hatchlings. Apparently he’d kept bearded dragons as pets when he was a kid, so he knew at least a little about ‘lizards’.
Liz opened a desk drawer and dug out a stress ball, something Doctor Shaw had given her for rehab, and tried to squeeze it. Amazingly, her metal fingers actually curled and the ball morphed out of shape.
“Finally!” She said. “Coco, look! I can squeeze the ball!”
“That is wonderful, Human Liz,” Coco said, the lit photo bar in their branches feeding them synthetic star light. “The human capacity to overcome body altering trauma is fascinating. In my research of non-botanical life, this is very clearly an exception. Other lifeforms would simply perish from such catastrophic damage.”
“Wait until you hear our bones grow back stronger after they break,” Liz said, laughing.
“They do what?” Coco asked, a note of alarm making its way into their voice synthesizer. Liz cackled, throwing her head back and everything. She felt better than she’d had in days, like whatever funk she’d been in was starting to disappear. She suggested they discuss human bone structure while they go get something to eat, saying Coco could gorge themselves on chocolate while she got a sandwich or something.
The mess hall was lively, and various species meant various different cultures and cuisine, so it always smelt different every few minutes or so. They sat and discussed cellular structures, bone density, and the like, how calcium deposits support bone regeneration for a while, making the broken area stronger than ever, for a time at least. Coco was simultaneously fascinated and terrified. They had no idea non-botanical lifeforms were so resilient in the Terran System.
After some time, and a second sandwich, they made their way back to the lab. They’d just stepped off the lift and were a few feet from the door when Liz heard it.
…scchhtt scchtt sschht…
Something was scratching at the door, low to the floor. Something small.
“Coco wait a minute,” Liz said softly, holding out her good arm in front of the Sprygan.
The door opened… and there was a baby arm eating bastard sitting there, looking up at her. The thing looked almost like a big kitten, except for the gator snout and reptilian limbs. Its body was covered in patchy fur, almost like a baby seal. It looked up at the two of them and chirped like a cat before waddling over, sat on Liz’s foot, and began gnawing on her laces.
“Holy shit,” Liz said. “It’s so ugly I love it.”
“I will go call Human Thomas,” Coco said, “we will need the new enclosure now.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the time Thomas arrived, the scientists had found two more Armeaters. “Yeah, one word, that’s what I’m calling them,” Liz had said when asked. One had been crawling around in Coco’s plant pot, and the other was sniffling around under the desks. As for the other two eggs, it seemed the three had…
“You mean they ate the other eggs?” Thomas asked, mildly horrified.
“Yeah, we checked the recordings. They sat looking at the eggs for a bit before they, uhh, kinda just crushed the eggs and ate them scrambled,” Liz explained. She was sitting in her desk chair, covered in Armeaters. Coco didn’t put out any body heat, so the little buggers had decided Liz’s lab coat and uniform were the optimal place to get warmth. It was actually pretty cute, in a weird sort of way, as they were all three purring in a guttural manner.
Thomas rigged the big tank the eggs had been in with a little 3D printed ‘rock’ cave, with some spare dirt the Sprygans had on board. The engineer worked hard to make the enclosure as close to the environment on MX13 as possible. By the time he was finished, they even had a little ‘pool’ made out of a file tub they weren’t using.
The problems started when the humans tried to put the creatures in the tank. They didn’t go for it. The moment Liz tried to set them down, they started whining, making this pew sound, much like baby alligators.
“I do not understand,” Coco said. “Why are they doing this? There is food and water in the enclosure, as well as a heating rock to keep them at the optimal temperature.”
“They probably imprinted on Liz when you walked in,” Thomas said. “Lots of creatures think the first thing they see after they’re born is their parent.”
“That sounds… confusing,” Coco said. “On Spryga, we either sprout from the ground near our progenitor, or we are sometimes an offshoot of them when branches or limbs break off and take root on their own.”
“This is just great,” Liz said sarcastically. “Gonna have to get a blow up bed or something, sleep in the lab now. We’re having a slumber party Coco, sorry, but apparently the kids need me.”
“Beep.”
“Because they’re newborns Roomba, they don’t know any better- OW SHIT!”
Thomas looked around, then started laughing uncontrollably. The auto-cleaning device had started its rounds, cleaning up eggshell and dirt. It had nicked his ankle with its knife.
“THERES A ROOMBA WITH A KNIFE!” He howled. “This is amazing! Why didn’t I think of that?”
He looked directly at Liz, more serious than either of the two scientists had seen so far.
“Do you think Roomba can ride the roomba? Can one of the little guys ride with them too?” He asked, so seriously.
“You humans are starting to concern me,” Coco said. “I’m getting more chocolate.”
“Can you grab me a drink too hon? These little guys are sleeping and I don’t want to wake them.” Liz was petting the little creatures when she noticed she was using her prosthetic arm. She hadn’t even noticed, it felt so seamless. She curled the fingers and scratched gently behind one of their ears.
About time, she thought. The funk was over. The new normal wouldn’t be that bad it seemed. She looked at the engineer.
“Thomas, if it’s the last thing I do on this ship, they’re riding the roomba.”

Off Schedule
[CCCC FIC] Contains: Platonic Soul, Heart and Mind, Pet regression, [~4,000 words]
Stressed petre!Mind + Caregivers Soul & Heart! From the request "s.so. so puppy mind after a stressful day with heart and soul as caregivers,," Mind can't complete its normal nightly schedule, and gets super stressed because of that... Luckily, Soul and later Heart help him relax :]
Fic under cut! or on AO3
It was hard to understate how much of Mind's, and really all three of their, mental state was linked to their physicality. Sometimes, this worked in his favor. Indeed, today was one of those days, at least, he'd thought it was.
If it tried to ignore all the strife and focus entirely on getting things done, it could set aside... most of the annoyances. His body was more machine than flesh at this point, and any phantom pains could easily be ignored for the Whole. He didn't want to disappoint his Soul [or his Heart], after all.
It wasn't thinking today was a good day now, curled up in bed, an hour before it'd regularly turn in for the night. He had started lagging earlier in the day, but had decided against slowing down his usual schedule; if he was feeling bad, that just meant the whole was having more intensive thoughts and needed him more than ever. Rest was not an option.
This had gotten him only though most of his routine, but, annoyingly, he couldn't get done with his last step. Every night, he'd read for about an hour before bed. This usually helped him wind-down and get relaxed and into the proper headspace, but his head was too scattered. That really was the last nail in the coffin.
He could stand an increased workload, the impending dread that something was Wrong, but his schedule... God, he didn't even know why he was so stressed out. He'd finished everything actually important, had finished everything that would actually help the three of them. The only thing he couldn't get to was some frivolous wind-down time, truly pathetic that that was what had done him in.
To add to this horrible mess, he couldn't even get to sleep. There was a buzzing under his skin, a restlessness he couldn't shake. He wanted to move. He also very much Didn't want to move.
A knock at his door startled him out of his curled up ball on his bed. He grunted an acknowledgement, hoping they wouldn't come in. He was... not presentable. He knew he'd probably be mean and unsociable, and that would just get so tiresome when it made the other, whoever it was on the other side of the door, inevitably got annoyed with him.
Apparently that wasn't enough for them, [figures, he was never enough.] because the door creaked open. It was Soul.
"Mind...?"
He turned away with a growl, hoping Soul would get the message. It was not in the mood.
"You okay man?"
Clearly, it didn't. Figures, Soul could never mind his own business.
"Yes. I'm... Fine." The words were slow and stilted, like it was pulling teeth.
Even without looking, he could tell his host was narrowing its eyes at him. The bed dipped with extra weight; Soul had sat down at the bed's foot. He was just getting ready to tell him to fuck off when he felt a hand reach over and settle on his forehead. Oh. Soul was in a touchy mood today. [Those were always nice days.] Maybe it could... wait a little bit, before kicking him out. Just a few moments, of course.
"Not too warm or hot... I guess, if you're sure you're fine, I could leave." Soul had become a bit of a worrywart in concord, caught up in attempting to make sure everything was running smoothly. Still, it backed off if one of them started getting snappy. a good call, because usually, Mind found the mother-henning kind of annoying [it was, after all, the one supposed to be keeping things in order. Any more than the base worry started feeling suffocating.]
Today, however... the idea didn't seem too bad. It was selfish to consider, because it knew it was liable to lash out like this. That wouldn't be a good ending for any of them, for Mind to snap at Soul only trying to help. Still, the temptation.
"No."
"You want me to leave?"
"No." It growled, frustrated with its inability to talk clear and the fact Soul misunderstood. God this was already getting it angry; this was definitely a bad idea.
It rolled over until it was back to facing Soul, squinting a bit at how light it was; his dear host had left the door open, and the hallway light was on. Annoying. Worth it though, because he could push against Soul's side, making it very clear he didn't want him to leave.
"Okay, okay, I get the message." Soul giggled. His hand gently carded through Mind's hair, "Think you could tell me what's wrong? Sick, tired, stressed-"
Mind nodded at the last one, careful not to dislodge Soul's hand, before contemplating for a second and holding up two fingers for the second option: he was also pretty tired. Soul's eyes softened a bit at that, drooping in the corners [reminding it of the portraits of Him Soul hadn't covered up].
"Want some help relaxing?" the words were a tad hesitant, and they were paired with gentle hands sliding behind his ears [something it leaned into easily. Again, touchy days were Always the best.] It didn't sound like it knew if it should be offering and it took Mind a moment to realize, exactly, what it was suggesting; usually he was the one asking, albeit awkwardly, if Soul could look after him while regressed. Even then, Mind hadn't really done it much...
It nodded, after a few silent moments weighing the pros and cons. It didn't have to talk, or make any decisions, or do any work, and it could just have Soul dote over it... it figured it had done enough productive work to earn itself some pampering. Probably. Maybe. Anyway, Soul was offering; to not take the opportunity would be... illogical.
Seeming satisfied with the confirmation, Soul pulled away. Before Mind could get snippy and whiney about it, he quickly explained himself, "just getting your stuff... unless you want to do it without it?"
That was logical enough, still a bummer though. It just huffed, "Fine."
His host rolled its eyes at him, but made quick work of sorting through Mind's drawers and pulling out its collar, along with its dog themed socks and gloves. He made a quick detour to the door to close it as well. [Much to Mind's gratitude. The room was now lit by a slightly dimmed light: pleasant.]
Mind didn't really have much he did with regression, so new to it; Soul easily kept track of everything it did, usually the one with him during. He was back in moments. Still, the sun took each item from its host to put on itself; it had already submitted itself to enough vulnerability, it could put on its own socks.
Now finally ready, and already feeling the tiniest bit better, it felt all the antsy-ness and over-energy come back with force. The buzzing underneath its skin was getting hard to ignore. He hoped Soul would be fine with a more playful session than usual.
"Now who's my good puppy?" Soul cooed hands reaching out to cup its face, like, well, one would do with a puppy. It wasn't really a puppy just yet, but the sweet words usually let it fall into it more easily. While definitely a tad embarrassed, it relaxed almost instantly into him. It knew it would feel great once the first little bump was gotten over. Just needed to let go a little [a Lot].
"Good boy!"
It shifted a little further into him, letting itself fall almost into his lap, nodding. Talking always got a bit hard like this, and it was already having a difficult time beforehand. That was fine though, his Soul was definitely expecting it.
"Want to play, or nap, Apollo?"
Oh the nickname was definitely the last straw; he was wholly in puppy-space now. It wanted to play, and it let him know with a playful yip and pushing its full weight into him; wrestling was always its favorite.
Not expecting the switch to such loud enthusiasm, Soul staggered a bit and nearly fell over when Mind bowled into him. He chuckled a little, hands gently pushing at its shoulders to get it off of him.
"Sorry puppy, I'm not the most into contact sports," he summonsed a chew-toy, characterized like all his summoned objects by a solid red color, "Wanna tug-a-war instead?"
Well, it wanted to wrestle, but... whatever; tug-a-war could probably be just as fun. Grabbing onto the toy, it gave a harsh tug.
With that, the game was on; Soul made sure not to pull too hard, not wanting to hurt Mind's jaw or teeth, but Mind had no such reservations. It growled around the toy, teeth sinking in further than it probably should let them. It could let out way more of that nervous energy it had had throughout the day like that though.
Soul didn't seem that happy with its disregard for propper safety, "Hey! Drop it boy, drop it."
Normally it would heed the call, it always adored the way Soul would coo soft praises when it did as he asked, but today it needed to get out these feelings. Shaking his head like a dog, it gave another sharp jerk at the toy. Its teeth hurt for a moment, probably why Soul let go.
Later it would recognize letting go as not an unsound decision, [Mind's jaw Had hurt for just a moment before Soul released the pressure, and it definitely would have hurt more if Soul Hadn't let go.] but in the moment it just went flying backwards and off the bed, hitting the floor with a loud thump and whine. The fall was onto carpet, and didn't even hurt that much, but the betrayal certainly did.
He heard a muffled "shit" overhead, but that was quickly ignored in favor of whining as loudly and pathetically as possible. This sucked, its back Kind of hurt, and Soul had just been incredibly horribly mean to it. That was such a mean way to win tug-a-war, cruel and unusual! Everyone in a fifty-foot radius Needed to know that. Immediately.
Soul was on the floor with him in an instant, cooing soft words and shushing gently, like that would earn him forgiveness for what he'd done. [It Did forgave him, but Soul didn't need to know that!] Its tantrum was definitely stressing Soul out more than the fall hurt it, but that serves him right! Being mean to a puppy is crime punished ten-fold.
It seems it’s wailing had gained it more than just Soul’s frantic attention; loud footsteps echoed from the hallway. Heart, probably, but in the minuscule off chance it wasn’t, it shoved itself right into Soul’s unprepared lap. He could make up for being so mean to it by protecting it from any monsters that may or may not exist. [That was definitely why he went into its lap, and not because Soul was very comfortable.]
The door creaked open yet again, and Heart peaked in. “Everything okay in here? I heard a thud and ah, a lot of noise.”
Soul was quick to answer, “ah, yes. Everything is fine. Mind just took a bit of a tumble.”
As if to accentuate this Mind let out a little whimper, needing Heart to know he was having the worst time in the world [or well- it was actually having a rather nice time, but it was ignoring that]. The moon would have sympathy, wouldn't he?
Heart seemed to need a second to realize what that sound was, and when he did he let out a little giggle. “Do we have a puppy in here?”
They didn’t wait for Soul’s “yeah” before going on, closing the door behind them. With a few directions from their host, he settled down on the floor beside the two of them. “Mind if I join you two?” The question seemed mostly in jest, Heart had already sat down next to the two of them, but there was an underlining genuinity.
Mind heard none of this, and was warring between two decisions: one, stay in Soul’s lap [rather awkward, because it hadn’t been prepared for him to just crawl on,] or jump at Heart and see if he wanted to play wrestle. Soul was very warm, and past a bit of squiring, pretty comfortable, and had even started giving it pets, but Heart would probably take him up on the offer of wrestling…
The two had moved on in conversation while it considered its options. Soul was answering a question it didn’t catch: “I really don’t know why he’s being so loud… the fall was pretty short. Do you think it might have landed wrong?”
Heart was making considering noises, but Mind was fuming. The two having conversation overhead didn’t bother it at all [it rather liked that they didn’t expect or need it to contribute] but Soul didn’t even know why it was mad at him?
That was definitely the last straw, and it wriggled out of Soul’s gentle hold to run into Heart. He didn't bowl them over, but that was only because Heart was a brick wall compared to Mind. There was a giggle, and large arms wrapped around it in a hug. It squirmed for a moment in the hold before leaning up to lick a stripe over Heart's cheek.
This very heartfelt show of affection earned him nothing but a few snickers and getting pushed back a little. Nobody here appreciated him as much as they should. Still, he stopped whining; Heart wasn't the one who let it fall off the bed, after all.
"I think Mind was just mad at you..." Heart said, shoulders shaking with silent laughter now that they'd figured Mind wasn't actually in any pain. "Was Soul being mean to you, puppy?"
"uhuh!" Mind agreed, easily. He wouldn't really say Soul was being Mean, per se. but he wanted to be mean back anyway. It usually didn't like talking like this, but it was going to make a small exception, just for this."B-bad at... playing."
It shoved its face right into Heart's chest now that it had spoken its piece, that was enough of that for now! His Heart didn't immediately react besides shift Mind into his lap more comfortably, face tucked into his neck. After a moment of adjustment, he was immediately on Mind's side; the way everyone Should be.
"Soul did you really fuck up playing so bad you made him mad at you? When he's like this?"
"Don't swear in front of it!" Soul, sidestepping the question, interjected.
There was a moment of silence, with the exception of the rhythmic thump of Mind's tail, before Heart burst out laughing. "You, my Soul-" He couldn't finish, giggling and wheezing way too hard. He tried again, "You censor yourself in front of Mind?"
[Mind knew Soul Tried, he was just very very bad at it. If he had any of the want to count he's sure its pretty high in the double digits, and they've only started doing this for a couple weeks at this point.]
"Yes! I do!"
"He's- He's still Mind. I don't think censoring swears will get it more into character either..." They considered it for a moment, like a thought had just occurred to them, "Unless you censor yourself in front of pets normally...?"
More silence, followed by breathless giggles. The sound made Mind want to laugh too, contagious. Soul didn't answer, turning away with a huff.
"Mind's not some delicate little thing like this, Soul." Heart said, turning his attention back to Mind. "isn't that right buddy? You're a big dog aren't you?"
Mind nodded against Heart's chest, giddy at the praise. It liked where this was going, quite a lot.
"Wanna show him how to really play?" His Heart gently shoved him off their lap and grinned down at it, sharp teeth on display. "Know you like wrestling, Apollo."
It lets out a happy yip, wasting no time in engaging in the fun. The two are grappling around the floor in moments, Soul's surprised yelp background noise.
Heart was always fun, never missing the opportunity to stress out Soul or let Mind have some more rough playtime. Not to say they were it’s favorite… just that, sometimes, maybe Mind preferred their treatment to Soul’s.
Like now! Tumbling about the carpet hit the exact itch Soul couldn’t. There was action, loud and aggressive, and it could really get its adrenaline pumping. Best yet, Mind could just let itself sink into it all without having to worry about things going south. The others would never hurt I a puppy, after all.
The thought brought on another wave of giddiness, and it threw its weight at Heart with rendered vigor, finally pinning him to the ground. Victory was his, at last!
Heart didn’t struggle much, a bit out of breath and mostly happy Mind seemed satisfied. At least, that's what it thought. “Ahh how terrible, to be bested by this awful beast…”
[Mind preened at that, for it Was an awe inspiring creature.]
His Hearts mouth turned into a sly little smile, before he was curling up with a lunge and grabbing Mind in a hug, warm and constricting, but not too tight. He laughed, big and loud and exaggeratedly evil, “or so you thought!”
It squeaked and squirmed and made a big show of Not wanting to be caught, but didn’t actually struggle too badly. Playtime had tired it out a little, and it was definitely not at 100% beforehand. Not a good mix for a puppy… Plus how awfully nice it was to be in Heart's arms? He didn't stand a chance.
Yawning, it let it’s chin hook over Heart’s shoulder, attempts to escape his arms short lived and abandoned. The moon was very very warm, one of the many things that made him such an appealing caretaker. How could it not adore someone so warm and snuggly.
There was a concerned noise behind it, and it could feel it’s ears perking up, trying to figure who it was. Soul, [obviously [there were only the three of them here, after all] but it liked having to puzzle it out. Smooth and angelic, with a hint of static, of course that was his Soul.] tinged with only a hint of worry, “was he too rough?” It asked him, before quickly changing gears to address Heart, “It looks tired.”
“It looked like it had too much energy when I got here, just tired it out enough for bed.” Heart’s easy response, self-assured. His grip tightened around Mind and he shifted it a little, like a man presenting a fish they’d caught, “worked like a charm!”
Mind only struggled a little bit at the handling, but rather liked it. There was just something so pleasant about being… a prize. Observed and adored and pampered like a treasure, but any contributions it offered were incidental to it, the machinations of another. Mind could just doze off in Heart’s arms and the soft cooing just came rolling in! It was living the dream.
Soul made a considering sound but didn’t fight him further. It tapped Mind’s shoulder to gain his attention. It to glanced back, eyes already half-lidded and tired from the adrenaline rush of its game ending so quickly.
“Mind…? Want to go to bed a puppy?” His hand was already hooked under its collar, ready to take it off. Usually the sessions weren’t so close to the time it turned in for the night [Mind liked having its before-sleep reading time], and it usually liked to get out of puppy-space an hour or two before bed. Soul probably assumed it wanted out before getting to sleep.
Mind growled, the sound at odds with its earlier good mood. What would have been a squeaky puppy growl on anyone else came out deep and crackling from the sun.
Soul pulled his hand back, palms free, “easy puppy! Was just a suggestion.” Heart was laughing at him.
Satisfied its point came across, it nodded. Going to bed actually did sound pretty nice right now…
Heart seemed to sense its thoughts, because he lifted it off the ground as he stood, gently setting it back on its bed. Like an evil creature that fed off of only suffering, however, he did Not crawl in bed with it.
Letting out a loud whine, it stared between Soul and Heart with a wide eye, glassy with what would be tears if it had any. It earned him a startled sound from Soul, “I thought you were enjoying cuddling with Heart…?” And Heart’s feigned resignation, “well… I guess I have too,”
It turned away from Heart with an annoyed huff. He should’ve been grateful and humble! Not resigned; Mind was a wonderful puppy, to cuddle with him was a gift, or a burden. Eyes drifting right over him to look at Soul instead, it gave a few paws at the air, tying to get him closer without Actually getting out of bed. He let out a laugh, a little indulgent, crawling in bed with it. "Fine, but only if you take off that collar. We don't want it poking you in your sleep, right?"
It huffed, annoyed at the fact Soul was right. Getting pricked in the neck by it's spiky, crown-shaped tag seemed like a recipe for discomfort though, so it presented its neck. Soul made quick work of removing the collar and it wasted no time in tucking itself into his side when he was done. Soul was still moving around a bit, putting the collar on the bedside table and getting comfortable in Mind's bed, but it was still nice.
"Am I still expected to join in?" Heart asked from behind, though he didn't sound too dejected anymore. "Or have I been rejected from the cuddle pile."
Mind considered shooing him away, but ultimately the idea of cuddling both its Heart and Soul sounded too nice. [And maybe.. it didn't like the idea of excluding its Heart from all the fun.] It made sure not to wriggle out of Soul's arms but it did wave him over with its free arm.
His Heart let out an amused sound, "Am I not even worth turning around for?" but crawled in bed beside it anyway, squishing it between themself and Soul. It arched its back a bit, so it could press against both its thirds, earning another amused noise and arms wrapping around it.
Its host didn't really cuddle back, but he did let it snuggle up against his side. His Heart, seeming to have discarded all his feigned reluctance, holding it close to his chest in a firm hug.
All in all, it was perfect. It almost forgot about what had stressed it out, tomorrow would probably be similarly difficult...It tucked itself closer, face shoved into the cook of Soul's neck.
This earned him a concerned coo from its host, "What's wrong buddy?"
Even after all that, it still wasn't in the mood for talking. It just shook its head, wanting to ignore the problem and focus on cuddling. Soul's hand lifted to its hair, lightly scratching its scalp. From behind, Heart cooed little comforts into its ear. The two working in tandem to distract it from its worry.
Soul could never leave well enough alone though, and asked anyway. "Was it what got you so stressed in the first place...?"
It nodded, hesitant. Soul probably wouldn't be dropping this unless it admitted that much, at least. His visible eye softened at that, "Don't worry about that. We can help you out with whatever it is tomorrow, okay?"
That actually sounded pretty nice... It didn't know how much help the two could actually be in the things it normally did, but even the knowledge that they would try was... appealing. Comforting. The thought of tomorrow didn't seem so stress inducing with the two of them around it.
It could feel itself relaxing back into their embrace, the stress lining its figure draining. Its eyes drooped further, the lack of worry and warm bodies around it making it difficult to stay awake. It tried to keep its eyes open though, it wanted to enjoy this. It wasn't common for the three of them to get together like this, warm and safe and without any argument.
One of them, and at this point it couldn't tell who, gently shushed it, "Go to sleep buddy, we'll be here tomorrow."
That was the last thing it heard before the world went dark, the need to rest winning out. Maybe... this wouldn't be the last time they did this.

Your Arranged Marriage Series
Part 2: Geto Suguru
Word Count: 3k
Synopsis: You’ve always carried the weight of the Zenin name, struggling to live up to a family legacy that crushes more than it elevates. When your father demands you marry one of the few special-grade sorcerers at Jujutsu High or suffer a punishment too brutal to consider, you almost give up. Until Geto Suguru makes that decicion for you...
Warnings: reader is a member of the Zenin family so a lot of trauma lol, physical abuse, so much drama but a ton of fluff in the end, Suguru is our husband y'all
„(y/n).“
It started out like any other normal day at jujutsu high. Going to the classroom with Nanami and Yu, giving it all you’ve got despite the fact that you didn’t make it past grade 3 since you’ve started studying here, meeting up with Suguru and Satoru during break.
It’s been a comfortable life, more than you could have ever asked for. After all, you are none other than the daughter of the Zenin clan’s leader. The one who’s supposed to carry on a family of strong jujutsu sorcerers.
You. A grade 3.
“I gave you more than enough time to develop. Fuck, I even arranged you attending that cursed school!”
A rough slap that doesn’t even hurt anymore, your skin so adjusted to the sting that you felt nothing but numbness.
“Are you too dumb to understand the whole clan relies on your lousy self?”
He grabbed your hair and yanked you upwards again, forced you to stare straight into his dead eyes.
“If you aren’t capable of becoming a decent jujutsu sorcerer, you’ll have to marry one. Maybe your children will be of use.”
Your…children? Marrying someone back at jujutsu high? What a ridiculous thought, after all, you’re still way too young for something like this-
“I’ll give you three months. Three months to find a man who is a special grade jujutsu sorcerer. Three months until you have to get married.”
“But…There are only three special grade sorcerers!”, you protested out of instinct, only to get your mouth forcefully shut by another ruthless slap from your father that felt like breaking your nose.
“Seduce them. That’s the least you can do.”
Seduce them. Your gaze drifted towards Satoru and Suguru more than once, wondering if you’d ever dare to make a move on them. They greeted you so friendly, supported you as good as possible. Suguru started giving you training sessions after each and every rough day, taught you on a regular basis in order for you to become stronger.
“Don’t be so hard on yourself, (y/n). Even though you’re a Zenin, you don’t have to be a special grade sorcerer”, he spoke softly while lifting you off the ground.
“Easy to say when you’re a special grade yourself…”, you muttered, careful to avoid his gentle gaze.
Suguru has always been to good for this world. Looking out for you when no one else does, supporting you through everything the best he can. Yes, Suguru Geto is the kind of husband every girl you ask for, the boy you’ve kept you’re eye on since the first time he spoke to you.
But asking him out, let alone proposing to him for the sake of your own well-being and your lousy family? You could never do that.
No, Suguru deserves way better than you. What if he thinks you only want him because of his title? What if your father digs his mighty claws into him? There’s no way in hell you’ll ever allow that.
Even if this means directing your father’s anger towards you.
“I’ve been waiting long enough, (y/n).”
His cold voice cuts through the cheerful air and interrupts even Satoru from saying another playful word. All pairs of eyes are suddenly set on you.
Those of your father included.
“Why didn’t I hear from my daughter those past weeks, huh?”
The blood in your veins freezes immediately, all color draining from your face. This is bad, very very bad. You thought you had more time, one more weeks until you’re due. Your father made it more than clear that he’s expecting a husband from you the next time both of you meet.
And you have to offer nothing but yourself.
“I didn’t make it”, you finally mutter.
“You disappoint me all over again. You’ve had one job, (y/n). Only one job.”
He steps towards you, cold eyes glaring you straight into the ground. No, not in front of your friends, not when Suguru stands right next to you-
But before you’re even able to protest, your father grabs your uniform and yanks you towards him, your feet dangling in the air.
“You useless piece of shit”, he screams on top of his lungs while shaking your, forcing every little bit of air out of your lungs.
“Too dumb to get better than grade 3 and finding a husband who’s a special grade? Maybe I should kill you right here on the spot, huh?”
Your father’s grip on your uniform tightens, his furious eyes darkening. The world starts to blur as you gasp, struggling to breathe, but then-
“Let her go.”
The command is quiet, cold. Suguru steps forward, his face calm but his eyes blazing with a determination that makes your father pause. Suguru's hand is on your father’s arm in a flash, prying his fingers off you with a force that leaves no room for resistance.
“What do you think you’re doing?”, your father hisses, venom lacing his words.
Suguru's gaze doesn’t waver.
"If you’re so insistent on a husband for her, then you’ll have one. I’ll marry her. I’m the special grade you’re asking for."
A hush falls over the room, even Satoru, who usually has a comment for everything, is left speechless. The weight of Suguru’s words hangs heavy in the air, settling over you with a mix of relief and fear. This isn’t what you wanted for him. This isn’t what he deserves. But no word of protest escapes your lips, not when your father’s eyes still linger over you dreadfully. What a coward you are, ruining Suguru’s life to safe your own.
After what feels like forever, your father scoffs, but there’s a glimmer of approval in his gaze. Of course, he’s aware of Suguru Geto’s status, the boy who isn’t part of the big jujutsu sorcerer families but still holds breath-taking skills. A pretty good match, a promise to the future.
“Fine,” he sneers.
“But if I see her slipping, she’ll answer to me.”
With that, he storms away, leaving silence and a chill in his wake.
You don’t even dare to look at Suguru, embarrassment now swallowing you whole. This can’t be true, has to be one of your countless nightmares. Your father basically forcing Suguru to marry you while you stand next to him, doing nothing but watching?
“Hey, are you alright?”, he questions before gently placing his hand on your shoulder.
“You…You don’t have to do this. I need to find another way-“
“By marrying another special grade sorcerer? You know that Satoru and I are your only options here at jujutsu high? I can allow him to hurt you.”
“I…I just need to get stronger”, you press out.
“You need to accept my help. Please, let me do this for you. I can’t stand the idea of you getting hurt by your father.”
“But that means marrying me. That means marrying into that family, that you won’t be able to leave. I…I can’t ask for something like this. We can’t do this.”
You feel like throwing up any given minute, the sudden wave of emotions making you feel dizzy. What are you supposed to do? Why didn’t you try harder? There has to be a way out of this, a way to avoid ruining Suguru’s life together with yours.
But to be honest, your head is empty. There isn’t a single potential solution you didn’t think through already, no way out you didn’t try over those past weeks.
You are too weak to meet your father’s standards on your own and Suguru is the only way for this arranged marriage to involve someone decent. What if your father decides to find a husband for you?
A dry cough escapes your lips while you try to stop yourself from puking.
Is marrying Suguru really the only way?
-after the ceremony-
The evening is still, blanketed in a quiet Suguru and you can feel as the last traces of daylight fade from the sky. Soft candlelight fills the room, casting a gentle, muted glow on the walls - a stark contrast to the earlier chaos of the ceremony. Despite the festivities, the muted joy, and the unspoken words from family and friends, the reality of this arrangement sits heavy in your chest, and a kind of emptiness clings to you like your skin.
Suguru stands across from you, his tall frame outlined by the flickering light. He looks so calm, so composed, as he usually does, but the gentleness in his eyes now holds something deeper, something unreadable. He’s here, bound to you, tied to the Zenin family and all of its darkness and expectations, and it’s a thought that makes your stomach twist with guilt.
You can barely look at him as he steps closer, and the silence stretches, each heartbeat a drumbeat of regret echoing in your mind. How you could let things get this far, why did your weakness led you to this night where Suguru is forced to bear a burden that should have never been his? And all of this while he looks so handsome in that dark blue suit.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” you finally murmur, your voice small, almost inaudible.
The words tremble out of you as a flood of emotions swells within, too much to keep contained. Your voice breaks as you continue.
“Suguru, I’m so, so sorry. I didn’t… I didn’t want this for you.”
“(Y/n),” he says softly, reaching out to you, his hand hovering just above your shoulder as if asking permission to comfort you.
You close your eyes, ashamed, willing yourself not to break down, not to let him see just how torn apart you feel. But his hand gently settles on your shoulder, and it’s enough to dissolve whatever flimsy resolve you had left.
A sob escapes before you can stop it, and the weight of everything, your father, the impossible expectations, the years of feeling like not being good enough and now this forced bond, comes crashing down. Your knees start to give way, and you sink to the floor, unable to hold it in anymore.
“I never wanted this for you,” you whisper between shallow breaths, looking down as you feel tears streak down your face.
“You deserve…you deserve someone better, someone who doesn’t drag you into this horrible family, into this endless cycle of cruelty and control. I should have stopped you, I should have trained harder, should have been…better…”
Suguru kneels beside you, one hand gently resting on your back as the other moves to tilt your face up to his. His touch is tender, his gaze unwavering, and he watches you as if you’re the only person in the world who matters.
“I chose this,” he says firmly, his voice steady, a calm assurance anchoring every word.
“(Y/n), you have to understand that I’m here because I want to be here. I’m not doing this because of your father, or even for him. I did this because I couldn’t stand the thought of you suffering any longer. Because I… I’ve wanted to be by your side for a long time.”
The intensity of his words shakes you into a completely different direction. You blink hasty against the coat of tears in your eyes, stunned as his confession begins to sink in. Him…wanting to be by your side for a long time?
“I’ve loved you for years, (y/n),” he continues, his voice softer now, but still steady.
“I don’t know when it started. Maybe it was the way you never gave up, even when everyone seemed to be against you, or maybe it was the way you always cared about others, even if they couldn’t see it. You have this strength that you don’t even realize. And I fell in love with that strength, with your kindness, your resilience. I fell in love with you.”
Suguru’s words hang in the air, filling the quiet with an overwhelming warmth. Your mind races, trying to comprehend what he’s saying, how he could feel that way, how he could possibly think of you with such admiration. Is it a cruel joke, a nightmare, maybe? How could a man like Suguru Geto ever love someone like you? You can’t meet his gaze, your heart pounding, his confession echoing in your mind.
“You…you’re saying that you…”
The words falter, disbelief woven through them. You’ll never be good enough for a man like him. You, the lousiest member of the Zenin clan, a grade 3 sorcerer while he’s a special grade. Him who is popular wherever he goes, who has countless girls secretly keeping up with his tracks while you always lived in the shadows back at jujutsu high.
He…he loves you?
“Yes,” he whispers, his thumb gently brushing a stray tear from your cheek.
“I’ve dreamed of being with you, (y/n). I wished for a future together, one where we could be together without any of this mess, without your father’s interference, without any expectations from anyone but ourselves. I wanted us to grow into that future slowly, to experience life together on our own terms. But maybe fate had something else in mind.”
His words are steady, but there’s a hint of sorrow in them, an echo of the hope for something simpler, something kinder. You can see that he had imagined a different path for the two of you, one free of constraints and family legacies, a journey that would’ve let him show you his love in its purest form.
“But Suguru,” you begin, choking back the tears.
“This family, my family, will try to use you. They’ll see your strength and skill as a means to control, a way to fulfill their ambitions. They’ll tie you to this name, weigh you down with the same expectations they forced on me. The only reason for our marriage is the fact that they expect my future children to fill the void my uselessness left.”
Suguru’s gaze hardens slightly, a flicker of defiance breaking through his usual calm.
“Let them try. I’m not afraid of the Zenin family. I don’t want you to worry about that. And if they think they can manipulate me, they’re wrong.”
His hand finds yours, fingers lacing together with a gentle squeeze.
“I am here because I want to be here. Not because I owe them anything, or because I’m part of their plan, let alone because I pity you. And no matter what they say or do, my loyalty is to you, and you alone.”
A wave of emotion surges up in your chest again, but this time it’s not guilt or shame. It’s relief, gratitude, and a kind of hesitant joy that Suguru’s love is real, not just something forced by circumstance. You gaze down at your entwined hands, gaping at the warmth of his skin, the reassurance in his touch and a new sense of calm fills the room.
“Can you forgive me?” you whisper, your voice barely audible.
“For dragging you into this mess, for… everything?”
Suguru’s hand lifts to cup your face, his fingers tracing your jaw with a softness you never experienced before.
“There’s nothing to forgive. If anything, you gave me a way to protect you, a chance to stand beside you. I can’t think of anything I’d want more.”
Slowly, he leans forward, his forehead resting gently against yours, and you close your eyes, feeling the weight of his presence, the steady rhythm of his breathing matching your own. The world outside slowly but surely fades away, leaving only the two of you, together in this fragile, newfound peace.
“(Y/n),” he murmurs, his breath warm against your skin.
“Let’s make this ours. This life, this future… we can shape it however we want. Let’s find happiness on our terms, not theirs.”
Tears spill over again, but this time, they’re different - softer, lighter, filled with joy instead of dread. It’s as if Suguru’s words have lifted something from you, a burden that you’d carried for too long. For the first time, you allow yourself to imagine a future without fear, a future where you and Suguru can build something beautiful together.
You nod slowly, still overwhelmed, but there’s a quiet strength blooming inside you, the beginnings of hope.
“I’d like that,” you whisper.
“I’d like that a lot.”
Suguru’s arms wrap around you ever so gently, pulling you close, his embrace steady and unwavering. You allow yourself to relax against him, finally surrendering to the comfort he offers, allowing yourself to feel safe in his arms. Oh, it feels so much better than it did those countless times in you imagination. Not even in your dreams, you allowed yourself the dangerous thought of being by his side. And now? Now this man is your husband, not because he has to, but because he wanted to.
Minutes pass, the silence comfortable, his fingers gently running through your hair as he holds you. Finally, you pull back slightly, meeting his gaze, and you can’t help but notice the faint smile on his lips - a smile that seems to hold promises, a shared understanding that goes beyond words.
“We’ll take this one step at a time,” he says. We’ll face whatever comes our way together. I don’t care what your father or the Zenin clan throws at us. They don’t define us.”
You nod, a faint smile breaking through the lingering sadness.
“I think I’m starting to believe that too…Maybe.”
Suguru’s smile widens, and he presses a gentle kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering for a moment before he pulls back.
“We’ll make it work,” he assures you, his voice a soothing balm to your soul.

The idea of Heatwave being a Wavewave sparkling but mainly from Soundwave tears me up. So I'll submit you all to my PAIN!!!
The idea of Soundwave growing up in the pits, fighting for his life, becoming a top gladiator but still being seen as the lowest of the lowest, but then, this Sparkling appears in his life. A little red bot who seemingly was abandoned or was not picked when it emerged from the All Spark.
That being their first meeting, Soundwave was not yet the Soundwave we know so he didn't know what to do. His best hope was that the little bot would end just like him, surviving on its own... or just die with no pain. After all, there was no one else but him, just him, and Ravage too ofc but really no one else...
So, imagine how stupid must he have felt as he took the sparkling from the ground and was unable to put it down. Ravage in the background wheezing as she realizes what has happened ¨Oh yea, that's how I adopted you too HAHAHAHAH¨
And things well get hard. Why did he do it? Was it some left kindness on him? Did he lose his mind? or maybe, he just compasioned...?
Time passes, he keeps fighting, Ravage keeps being annoying but is still there for him, and the Sparkling now going by the name Heatwave, was there too looking from afar. Soundwave had decided that the little Bot would not participate in the arena, he would just watch and learn.
Heatwave was amazed at the way his ¨creator¨ fought other bots who were bigger than him and much more robust in comparison. Tho he didn't wish to become a gladiator just like his creator, but he still wanted to show how strong he was helping others.
Time passes, they're a small ¨family¨ for all they can say, but they are very strong and united. In every fight, Soundwave participates in the entertainment of the upper classes, he kept in reserve credits so that one day Heatwave can leave the pits and form a real life outside the misery. It would of course be a slow process, but Soundwave knew that he could do it.
A big surprise was when Heatwave shared with him that he wanted to become a Rescue Bot, a particular job that didn't really fit in any of the class rankings that Cybertron had been using... it was a job that came with intense training that if failed, all the blame would go to the bot who failed and not to the institution who trained them. A job that was more chosen to do for the pure of one spark than the want to win something. Such was that it was known that the High Council would prefer losing 5 Rescue Bot units than one Council member.
The job was clearly going to be a dead sentence, but after a long discussion, there were not many options like the Rescue recruit institutions offered to give a semi-normal life to low-class citizens... at least, for the time Heatwave would be trained he would have a home with basic needs, and once out of training and to the practice, the payment would be enough to even feed Ravage.
Soundwave still didn't want to say yes. to give Heatwave permission, but, Heatwave was just hotheaded, he was promising that with this he would be able to give Soundwave the life he could not grow up with... the life he gave to Heatwave...
Soundwave still saved credits as he kept participating in the arena, just in case.
Time seemed to fly through this change. Heatwave met his assigned team and close friends, Soundwave met new bots too, aspiring and strong allies for both of them. Yet, their ideals seemed to change as their lives grow appart.
They still saw each other, they kept communicating, and Ravage always reminded one or the other to call. But things just can't stay calm forever. The pits and many parts of Cybertron considered for the lower cast were being destroyed, homes and families being displeased so the upper class could take those areas. Slowly, a revolution was being armed with strong bots taking the lead. One in particular, Megatronus, wanted Soundwave as his second in command as he saw potential in him.
Soundwave wanted to decline at first. This could endanger Heatwave in many levels if it was known that they both were family. Megatronus seemed to understand, and it seemed that someone else would take Soundwave's place as SIC... is it wasn't for that one call...
The call that changed forever Soundwave's perspective on life and on his own decisions. It was from the Rescue recruitment system that chose Heatwave informing him of... the red bot dead, with the rest of his team...
Rescue Sigma-17 had been deployed to help another unit very far away, and as it seemed that the job was being completed, the communication began to cut. In short, all signals were lost and no vital was detected. Both units had been gone enough time to be declared deceased...
There was not going to be any effort on further location or send a 3 unit with more equipment to help or to at least know what happened. There was not going to be any effort on finding Heatwave's body for a proper funeral, his stuff as the stuff of his team would be tossed or given to their creators. That being said, Soundwave and Ravage received nothing but a big box full of credits, enough to live a luxurious life in the middle class...
It had a note from Heatwave. Just like Soundwave was saving for an emergency, Heatwave had been doing the same. Probably not eating or working extra to have this amount of credits...
... Soundwave tossed all that in their faces not accepting a damn. As fast as he could he went to Megatronus and began their plan to attack...
...
...
...
At light years far away, after more tragedy had occurred. A small ship floating in the middle of nothing received a message that redirected t it to a planet called Earth.
Landing, four bots from stasis had awakened to see the beauty of an organic planet and to encounter a figure not many would be able to talk to, Optimus Prime.

He’s indeed chronologically old but it has very little to no value considering that he’s both mentally and physically a teen.
You say that there is still organ and cell growth during the years at the hotel, but a) if it’s meant as in “you grow based on the actual years you passed there” theres absolutely no evidence that’s the case: Nico is described as looking like a teen (growth of cells and organs would show some explicit signs of aging, of course. Even only strictly talking about the skin, for example.) b) if it’s meant as in “you grow based on the time you experienced” well yes, the growth would be slight because the time Nico experienced at the hotel IS little. He felt as if he was there some months at most.
There is no evidence in the books that hotel lotus’s time works in a way that makes your organism grow older even if the time experienced is seemingly short. To be fair, the fact that the di Angelo sibilings are still physically young proves the exact opposite.
Nico experienced both physically and mentally a very short amount of time a) acquiring in that time no additional experiences from the ones he would’ve acquired in the same perceived time outside and b) not growing any more than what he would’ve in the perceived amount of time outside.
To be clear: he felt as if he was there a month, let’s say. In this month he grew physically and mentally as he would’ve done outside of the hotel. The fact that the actual time was indeed longer than a month doesn’t hold much importance, because the Hotel Lotus Time≠Normal time.
You then listened a bunch of things that tbh hold absolutely no relevance to what op was talking about. You filed a list that proves he’s a normal human being, not that he’s older than a teen. There is no correlation between the original topic and what you are speaking about.
Lastly, if by Nicos experiences you mean his trauma, then we could make this discourse for literally every other character in the series, which would make all of them at least, what, 30? Because what 15yo risked dying at least 20 times?
If you however mean the experiences he had during his time at the hotel, then I think I already clarified that’s not the case.
He’s not young because of fanservice, he’s young because that’s the only possible logical age he could be.
(And this doesn’t matter that much but I’ll just put it out there: most people that act as if Nicos seriously from Paleolithic, do so because they are trying to insinuate there’s a p3d0 essence in solangelo, because they either dislike the ship or either characters. Which is very insane.)
OH MY GOD IT FINALLY HAPPENED
SOLANGELO GOT PUT ON ONE OF THOSE AGE GAP SHIPS SLIDESHOWS
I KNEW ONE DAY IT WILL HAPPEN
PEOPLE ARE FUCKING STUPID, I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN ONE DAY
AND IT DIDDDD!
This is the happiest day of my life

Honestly it is a bit crazy to me how at 22 I am at a very typical age for someone seeking an OCD diagnosis despite having spent like half my life in therapy why is this disorder so massively underdiagnosed
#I have had soooo many mental health professionals attempt to treat my anxiety only for none of it to really work because it felt like my#anxiety was fundamentally misunderstood#like no I'm not really anxious about giving a speech or meeting new people or whatever#at least no more than what is considered normal#I am however terrified that I am going to accidentally poison myself and am therefore extremely careful about what I eat#or yknow#I'm not truly socially anxious I just spend hours every day ruminating over my relationships with other people#to the point where it severely impacts my ability to date anyone because my brain causes me to second guess everything#like I'm gonna be honest babes I don't think generalised anxiety is what's causing me to wash my hands until they bleed

It’s not going away, so get used to it! (Patreon)
#Doodles#SCII#Damned#Helix#ZEX#DAX#Dexter Favin#Stepping back a bit! I'd been ignoring my concept art page lol#I wasn't sure if I'd actually finish any of them but some are silly and fun and I like them! So yes! Here they are!#ZEX is so empathetic to his human body <3 It's sweet! He wants his own body for lots of reason but that's among them! It's cute!!#It really is the worst situation for everyone :') Max needs his body back and ZEX doesn't want it and Dexter and DAX and - The Whole Thing!#DAX on the other hand lol#Neutrality to humans + being a bit self-sacrificing to the benefit of his Admiral = ???#DAX no (lol)#I imagine a Dexter wake-up (if he believed anything that happened to DAX Actually happened which - unlikely) he'd at least be like#''Would I really die for Max?? Like /that/ hard???'' Haha#I really like him using ''what the hell'' like - maybe more than would be considered normal lol#I still have that Vargas brainrot of who capitalizes deities and who doesn't - Dex does and Max doesn't <3#And ZEX does but is agnostic(?) - I'm fascinated by the religiousity! Cultural influence and understanding of self!!!#There have been So many times that I have wanted to write ''What the [expletive]'' or ''What on Earth'' but like - this is DAX!#Not Dexter! Not a human!#He wouldn't use those turns of phrase but he has the Energy of those sayings so what do fill in#I need a glossary of VUX swears#Hehe - VUX swear jar#Getting used to that new center of gravity! :D I imagine Dex as being shorter than DAX and Max is even shorter than /him/ so ♪#Last one was still technically a concept sketch but actually from an initial-writings so not at the institute but yes still Dex-DAX hehe#Where could he be! Who could he see! I wonder ♫

Main Sophont Species: Dragons.
Lesser Sophont Species: Literally everything. Every animal, plant, and aspect of nature is fully aware and able to communicate, more or less. Fairy-tale talking animals are the norm here, and every species has their own cultural beliefs.
Cryptids: Depends on what you mean when you ask if there are cryptids. If you mean "are there animals people believe exist but aren't proven," then probably not, at least not in a modern sense. Menfolk societies aren't globalized enough to know what animals live where, so their stories of strange animals are more akin to bestiary depictions of elephants than Bigfoot. If you mean "do RL cryptids exist as real beings in the world" then the answer is yes, and I would say probably all of them, but they aren't considered cryptids here. Bigfoot would be an Ape King, the Divine Ancestors of Menfolk. Nessie is just a normal lake dragon.
Prehistory: Pre-dates the creation of Eitr Vyrms, a world where the only things that existed were Nature Wyrms and the very first of single celled organisms.
Dinosaurs do exist, and they look like accurate dinosaurs. Non-Accurate Dinosaurs are either Retrosaurs (non-Dinosaurs which evolved dinosaur-like builds) or Pseudosaurs (dinosaurs which have performed a modified Cockatrice ritual to re-Saurianize themselves). All three groups are called Deinons, and the differences in classification isn't widely known.
'Folk races farm the typical livestock and crops, as well as some species of Deinons. Dragons don't typically farm, though most consider themselves the stewards of whatever prey species live in their territories.
My main inspiration is real mythology, as well as fantasy in general.
Themes and Motifs: Animism would be a big one, a focus on Dragons as gods.
My main story goal is a book following Landi's entire life.
Accepting questions about my lore, worldbuilding, setting, and characters.

Someone being extremely annoying in the replies of my flowey and clover gif and I'm running out of patience 😭
#'well I THINK theyd just kill everyone then never reset in neutral' 'WE decide who clover is at heart' can you not#like. this is a piece of fanart. did you really just reply to tell me you don't like my headcanons or what#like... at least mention the art of you're gonna go on a several reply stint of this...#and im sorry but mmmmh... bad takes. frisk is morally ambiguous and its impossible to know what they'd do without our influence at this tim#but its a. fucking HUGE plot point in yellow neutral that we know what clover does without influence. without us. without flowey.#they stay w toriel indefinitely...#there's wiggle room for why and that's interesting. but its very clear vengeance wouldnt normally be their driving force#and that in itself is interesting! do we make them give into their anger? warp their sense of justice?#are they just going through the motions of getting this done now that they've ended up on this path?#that's all way more interesting to discuss than what feels like just treating them as a nothing character to treat as an insert#they did say its bc they dont like considering vengeance canon but that stumps me even more#why do you think we mold them then????#and idk if the devs said anything about it being noncanon but i haven't heard so#(and the devs also said Clover's gender is 'up to interpretation' and that's stupid so i also just don't care I'm sorry)#I'd rather embrace all routes and consider what that can mean for the characters#vengeance being unrealistic for ut means nothing when NONE of uty is realistic for ut#it's just a cool what if kinda story
