Ooh I really love video game music, and classical music!
I guess the first one is kiiinda predictable, since I'm a Mini-game NPC, but after playing violin for a while I have come to enjoy classical music a lot more. It's especially fun to play!
#not a mini-game#mini speaks#ask game#this is true to me in real life as well!#im actually listening to the deltarune ost on loop right now... ehe#but i used to not really be too fond of classical until i started playing violin!#“classical is boring pop is more fun and is better” NO it is NOT pop is really really REALLY boring to play believe it or not.#at least compared to classical#maybe its fun to sing but its definitely not fun to play on an instrument. coming from a person who plays violin.#classical music has SO much more fun and interesting rhythms and patterns and styles#its a lot more fun to play - even if it sounds “boring” to you#SORRY went off on a tangent. i love listening to pop music (genuine) but i can assure you that classical is more fun to play lmao#video game music is fun though. fun to play and learn (at least the music from the video games i play) because the artists tend to use a-#-lot more rhythms and styles and instruments and it isnt just like. 2 measures of open a (<- really boring) like in a lot of pop music#WHOOPS i did it again sorry my bad ill just post this now i swear

Just a silly guy, with silly silly thoughts.
@glowweek Day 2
Casual | Surprise
A casual surprise?😬😬😬
#Hooooo boiii this lad is about to get funky.#He was internally screaming the whole time.#It's in my core memory as a connverse fan. I'm never truly going to let this up I believe. haha#Our boy really one day went out there wanting to get married as a teen like a true classic Disney princess. 😭#It was honestly endearing but sad and also pretty embarrassing. 😔#Secondhand embarrassment aside. Steven is pretty much lucky in the romance department. Which. Deserved by the way. With all the other#crap he had to deal with.#connverse#Steven Quartz Universe#Connie Maheswaran#SU#my shiz#teal#SU comic#glowweek#connverse week#I have no idea if whatever Connie is spouting are actuallt true in real life. Good thing this can be chalked off as just a thing in their#fictional world.#Also I'm glad part of that was covered by Connie's body because I had to take a few notes from chat GPT to add in her enumerated rambling.#I had to make the glow bracelet float like that because I couldn't draw his hand holding it quiet right in that angle.#And yea that size difference is no error. That's how small Connie's wrist is compared to his hands. Or at least something like that.#comic

this nemesis ambition started out a little slow but I am getting closer to finding that bastard who killed my wife, and I’ll not rest a minute now that im far closer to on his trail
sorry got in character for a second
Anyways fun ambition so far very fucked up though
congratulations on joining the murder club anon!!!! depending on who you ask the name refers to either people who have murdered or people who have witnessed murder. usually both. actually extremely often both. it's a swell time you'll feel right at home (don't mind our collective skyglass knife collection in the back)
#im still not far into nemesis personally but im very much enjoying it#honestly in a weird way it feels like it's moving faster than HD did. which. is funny bc nemesis is like The gated behind item grinds quest#idk. HD was a fun slowburn where we adventured around gathering our rogues gallery before the action kicked in#nemesis on the other hand feels like im picking up halfway through a batman serial#fallen london#ask#it's WAY more fucked up right off the bat than HD was. honestly ive thought abt red honey for ages. that's so fucked up#and we LEAD with that?? Okay#definitely a horrors-filled ambition befitting caeru (the guy who's constantly going through horrors)#it really encourages you to get fucked up and freaky and in ur character's headspace at basically every step along the way#i only have HD to compare it too but HD was like. a lot more interpretative in comparison? at least to me. that's what it felt like#and i adore HD for that dont get me wrong here#HD just also waited until like. halfway through before it asked what the scoundrel actually Wanted out of its heart's desire#nemesis in comparison is right off the bat who died? who are you mourning? anguish. justice. there must be vengeance.#it's a delightfully different vibe!! i like it!!!#oh god sorry anon im doing the classic yin talking way too much in the tags thing again#i havent had much excuse to talk abt nemesis and what i think of it so far and of course its rp effects on caeru#but i do have a handful of thoughts on it#it's good. im liking it so far. it's starting very strong if nothing else. and i have no spoiler knowledge of what happens in the future#beyond the choice between rewards at the very end#and im SO curious how we'll get to that point. what horrors will we adventure through next? off we go to find out!#it's biggest glaring weakness so far is how horrendously grindy it is. and like. ive been warned and done my research ahead of time#im doing it on the same account im seeking. i knew what i was getting into. but also gots damn.#in comparison HD's 5-card lodgings and dreamgate feel like footnotes#anyway while im already way too deep into rambling did you know the honey trip gives you fate?? insane. why does it do that. hilarious even

What if what if I what if if I what if if I could what if I went crazy what then what then what then
I know Sonic does manage to turn into Super Sonic just in time to save everyone after that idw panel, but at the time of reading all I could think was how Classic Sonic had arrived in the nick of time to save him before in Forces
But that this time there is no Sonic to show up out of nowhere to defend him or comfort him🥲😭
#sonic the hedgehog#tails the fox#miles tails prower#sontails#unbreakable bond#idw sonic comics#sonic forces#idw sonic issue 29#For the record I think the scene in Idw is more in character or makes more sense at least compared to the forces scene#Especially since Tails' situation is more actually hopeless during this part of the idw issue#But by god when I read that part I thought immediately back to Classic Sonic showing up in time to defend Tails#I wish so badly Tails was able to be more emotional towards the end of this arc#or that we'd at least gotten to see some inner turmoil#The metal virus has fucked me up emotionally for the record#Sonic feeling so insanely lonely whenever his little buddy hangs up emotionally devastates me too#shjsjsjsns idw team really like stacked apocalypse trauma right on top of the existing Sonic Forces trauma and I need to watch the#characters (especially Sonic and Tails) buckle#i just be ramblin

A young Roger Delgado works to expose an otherworldly conspiracy, as newspaper columnist Hugh Conrad in Quatermass II: The Coming (1.4, BBC, 1955)
#fave spotting#roger delgado#the master#quatermass#doctor who#classic doctor who#delgado!master#quatermass ii#quatermass 2#images are rough i know‚ but that reflects the quality of the material to a degree#that we have complete copies of Quatermass II is a small miracle and to be celebrated#but as a bbc series from 1955 it is understandably in rather poor form as regards picture and sound quality#at least compared to contemporaneous shows from itc or america (largely shot on film)#anyway. what a delight to see young Rog! he's only in this one episode (although he can be seen briefly in the recap at the start of ep 5#and thus sometimes is credited with both) but he's playing a great character‚ a fleet street wonder that Quatermass brings in to try#and spread word about the conspiracy at the heart of the series. it allows Rog to play quite a different figure to the villains and foreign#dignitaries that became his stock in trade later on; he's a wily‚ astute but sceptical figure‚ who wants proof of Quatermass' claims and as#such is exposed to the alien horrors at work (allowing SPOILER for some very good 'battling possession' acting that leads into a truly#great cliffhanger). the serial almost feels like it has a guest of the week‚ with a significant character turning up for one ep only in#most installments‚ including Rupert Davies in the previous episode‚ but i think it's just the way the serial was formatted (and it's not#like Delgado or even Davies were particularly well known actors at this point in their careers)#still it's been fun to revisit. highly recommended for fans of dark and doomy sci fi horror

Hey spn cast 🔫 can you be in things I actually wanna watch? 🔫🔫🔫🔫
#this post is not for you Kathryn newton#everything I would watch I had already watched pre spn obsession#I love you Gilmore girls 💕 I probs wouldn’t have watched spn if I didn’t recognise Jared lol#he got sooooo lucky with gg and spn cuz they are both so popular on streaming like all of his ig comments call him dean#compare that to Jensen on Dawsons creek which was the more popular show at the time I’m pretty sure#like what a lucky little duck#I’m rambling lol soz#anyway go Jared for getting super lucky#house of wax is also a classic. to me. at least.#especially in the current Paris renaissance it might get a bit of air time#a 20 year reunion would be so fun if they don’t all hate each other#is elisha cuthburt even still acting?#hmmmmm anyway I’ll manifest that 🙏

And we're back with another round of "God I hate the canon heights of a lot of these pokemon." This time around, it's Nidoking, who's somehow 1.4m / 4'07".
HOW IS THIS SHITHEAD SHORTER THAN ME BY 20CM???
#Lil' context ig. I decided that C. Heavy- in my TF2 x PMD AU- is going to be a (maybe shiny) Nidoking.#so I wanted to check how much taller Heavy (who's an Ursaluna) would be compared to him. He would be a whole ass 1m taller than C. Heavy.#So. if I were to do a drawing of the Classics in my AU. I will probably ignore the canon height of Nidoking#in order to make C. Heavy at least almost as tall as Heavy.#my thoughts

why are they still making doctor who finales when world enough and time/the doctor falls exists
#like. buddy you’re not beating that!!#it’s comparatively low stakes. there’s classic monsters. there’s the master. there’s bonkers character work. i love it <3#genuinely we gotta ban these showrunners from ‘oh no the universe slash world is ending!!!1!!1!’ plots for at least two decades#you can have high stakes without it being the end of the universe please for the love of god#doctor who

just saw someone say with such confidence that "child's play had the budget of 7 dollars and a ham sandwich" like girl i promise you it didn't. it's just that more than half of those 10 million dollars went to the chucky animatronics LOLLL
#வார்த்தைகள்#THEY WERE COMPARING IT TO TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE TOO LIKE??#TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE DIDNT EVEN REACH TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND.....IT IS LIKE THE EPITOME OF A LOW BUDGET GRINDHOUSE HORROR CLASSIC#like child's play is most definitely b grade horror i will not deny that but it is not low budget horror. by ANY means#i need people to stop tossing terms around but also it's fine because it's so very funny#like. at least this is funnier than the elevated horror bullshit thats been making rounds on every single social media platform

So I hardly use Spotify (cause the free version has so many ads and if i need a free platform there are better options) but YouTube posted a 2022 recap playlist for me, and it’s almost entirely Lilypichu, Derivakat, animatics, and songs I’ve done/am doing in choir, with a few regular songs sprinkled in there. Nice.
#no mind that 90% of the music I listen to on YouTube is lofi/classical/instrumental for study#ig YouTube probably doesn’t register 2-hour-long videos as a music video#I will admit that this sucks compared to Spotify wrapped#but hey I will take it#I know Spotify premium is good but free Spotify sucks#so I stick to SoundCloud and YouTube lol#better free options#music#rosie rants#gosh I really haven’t listened to any normal music in a long time havent i#at least not on YouTube

im not one who cares a lot abt nice book covers. well the design student in me cares a little actually. but overall i will be fine buying a boring edition of a book if thats whats available or in my budget. and if i can get a pretty one for cheap or as a gift then its a nice little treat. however in saying that those clothbound penguin classics are sooo yass and slay
#i dont really care for elitism when it comes to book covers but for me it is nice to have a couple pretty books#also when it comes to classics theres a lot of options so you can get nice ones for fairly cheap. comparatively at least#the penguin vintage classics w the watercolour designs are nice. and the regular penguin classics are nice too#theyre not Fancy like the clothbound ones or some of the other hardbacks from other publishing houses#but i still like them theyre simple but theyre sleek and look sophisticated and i like the art on the covers#idk i say this bc i dont want to put too much importance on spending a lot of money to have this beautiful bookshelf#bc ultimately its about if its a good book or not#but i am not immune to pretty books sometimes

Mk11 cons: where do i start? Legit the whole game can be summed up to kindergarteners and dudebros arguing over whos better and its nothing but a dick measuring contest cept all the writers have small micro penis energy and jack shit care for anything but a greedy quick buck and couldn't write a proper fighting game story if their lives depended upon it at gun point.
Mk11 pros: cary hiroyuki tagawa back as shang tsung. That's it.
#mortal kombat#vent#discourse#mortal kombat discourse#mk discourse#im telling you like it is ok?#not knocking on the fun of the game but let's be real compared to other mk stories n games it's mediocre flash n cash grab#it's a time waster more than anything#it's mediocre fun#15yrs of my life i have been waiting for a proper fun mk game again still haven't got one since shaolin monks and deadly alliance#maybe mk 2 for how classics go#but fr like you can only go so far with mk before it gets frustrating n boring#at least with the new so called trilogy#like I'd take the clunky ps2 graphics n good story and the cheesy fun over whatever bootleg mcu endgame infinity wars crap they were doin#they are relying on brand n corporate greed n capitalism instead of actually fucking making a decent game#plus i heard they didn't treat their devs well so thats a bonus middle finger to nrs#mk11 is my last mk game im buying unless they infinitely wow me and i mean actually fucking blow my pants off wowing ok?

Donald Sutherland guest stars as the easy living Willard, a college friend of McGill - and a rare glimpse into his early life - in Man in a Suitcase: Day of Execution (1.3, ITC, 1967)
#fave spotting#donald sutherland#man in a suitcase#1967#itc#classic tv#day of execution#i don't think it comes up in dialogue but Pixley's bible reveals that the college was specified in the script as that of the University of#Texas; Bradford had attended for a while himself‚ and other references to playing football also fit the real Bradford (who'd been set#for a sporting career until an injury saw him refocus on acting). Sutherland wasn't from Texas of course; a good old Canadian boy#he'd gone to school in Toronto and then moved to London around 1962‚ where he'd been steadily plugging away as brit tv's most successful#(at least in the long term) rentayank. for more on that see other Donald posts in the fave spotting tag; by the time this episode aired Don#was nearing the end of his English residency. he was already netting some notable supporting roles in pretty big movies (The Dirty Dozen#was released in the uk about a week after this episode aired‚ and within a year or so he'd be nailing some of the projects which would#catapult him to true stardom). he's very good here of course‚ as the drunken layabout college friend of McGill who inherited a fortune#from 'daddy' and seems content to spend his days sleeping and nights partying. his involvement in the action of the episode gets a little#murkier in the last act‚ and sets up some really brutal stuff from McGill (he ends up charging Willard $10k to save his life)#also notable is some bloodied face makeup Don wears in that last act‚ having received a beating; MiaS was noted for its increased#violence and bloody fx compared to other itc shows‚ mostly a result of Bradford's own insistence on greater realism and in showing the#result of violence rather than just stage punches and taps on the head. what's unusual is that it was normally Bradford who got bloodied up#perhaps Sutherland's willingness to get all bruised and swollen is indicative of a good working relationship with Bradford?#pixley doesn't comment on it‚ but i think it's quite possible‚ especially as Sutherland was one of the only actors to return for another#episode (one of the few others being Colin Blakely‚ whom Bradford is well known to have been in awe of; it's not beyond the realm of#possibilities that the star had some influence in who was recast for second appearances). but this is conjecture really#just enjoy young Don with his crooked grin and big ears and goofy face. who'd have thunk a future screen icon in 1967?

it's so weird to me that taylor swift is like. That Big A Deal. I don't even think her music is entirely without merit it's just so resoundingly mid that I'm mystified by her enduring popularity
#honestly yeah#no hate to taylor but there's a reason why bts are compared to the beatles and she isn't#(i say this as a swiftie and an army)#(and YES I AM BOTH even though i don't blog about them)#while her music is great imo#bts on the other hand?#we've got classical we've got rock we've got pop we've got rnb#name a genre and they probably have at least one song from that genre#anyways yeah this is my rant#thanks for coming to my ted talk#bts#taylor swift#swiftie#bts army#m's blog#m's ramblings

btw basically every single post i've ever made about 18th-19th century lit needs a forum signature style disclaimer that's like "and YES. it's racist"
#cannot think of a single example of classic gothic lit that doesn't have some at least highly questionable elements to it#even zhiguai have issues with misogyny although they tend to challenge conservative ideas and be generally.#kind.#compared to western lit of the same ilk which is very much like#antisemitism followed by anti-black racism followed by intense classism#plus general grossness about women
