"how could anyone ship bloodweave they make no sense at all" did you think about their stories, their motives, their ailments, their shared hobbies, the subtle progression of their relationship throughout the acts, and how very similar they can be despite being different. i know that you didn't but if you had then perhaps you would understand why some people might ship them, especially since a) you can successfully romance them in an origin run thus making it possible, b) astarion already tries flirting with gale unprompted in act 1, and c) you can romance astarion with a good-aligned pc and romance gale with an evil-aligned pc. so, like. what's not clicking

I find it incredibly funny that most of the Tav BG3 art that I have seen have Tav vibing or being lovey-dovey with some of the game characters.

Meanwhile, I exist with my Tav, Elias, throwing hands with both most the party; holds Astarion at knife point and fully believing that Gale is some sort of con man. (This is early act1 mind you)

So as a way to procrastinate on defeating the final boss in my first playthrough (that motherfucker is HARD), I decided to create a second playthrough of BG3

Just today I managed to save the grove from the goblins AND kill Auntie Ethel (except with less fucking around this time since i actually know what I’m doing lol). AND!!! I actually made some romance progress with Gale (No kiss yet, but we’re GETTING THERE!!!), AND Astarion is friendly enough with me to actually tell me about his relation to Cazador (granted, I accidentally stumbled upon a guy looking for Astarion, and he explained some shit afterwards, but STILL), plus I actually have the option to let him feed from me every night, which is…odd, but whatever

For the record with the Astarion bit, in my first playthrough, Tav didn’t know ANYTHING about Cazador or Astarion (other than the basic shit he tells you after finding out he’s a vamp) until I met up with Raphael in Act 2 (and I think that was mostly bc I just so happened to have him in my party at that moment). Hell, my relationship with Astarion didn’t go above neutral until the start of Act 3! I mean, yeah, my relationship with him is still neutral, but this is more progress I ever made with him the first go around, so

Truly I think the most likely end to Ascended Astarion's run as vampire lord in Baldur's Gate is like, half a decade of playing politics, two or three assination attempts, a break down at five am, and then burning down Cazador's castle and skipping town.

Also I think that would be good for him.

In any time line I think a little road trip to self reflect and vibe would be good for him.
