i have a fairly short kinlist but i VERY heavily kin the characters on it, some more than others (i'm yet to find a term that suits, but i'm currently leaning towards synpath or maybe fictionhearted)!

Do you want to exact revenge on the person who killed your parents in a horrible incident, but you don’t know how?  

Well, we have just the thing for you!

Introducing the Five-Step-Guide-To-Revenge!

Step 1:  Traumatize all the children in the nearby vicinity!  Every.  One.  The children of your enemies, orphans, adopted orphans, detective orphans, rich orphans, even your own children if you’re feeling special!  If you’re looking to recruit some people to assist in your dastardly schemes, this method works approximately half the time (data limited).

Step 2:  Arson!  It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s relatively painless!  Just light a couple of matches, and bam!  The house of your enemy is destroyed, and with luck they’re inside it!  Be careful though, and make sure there are no beloved pets inside, we don’t want to be accused with animal cruelty.

Step 3:  Gaslighting!  Make people believe that you’re not the problem, they are!  Make them think you’re in the right and they’re in the wrong!  Make them know that all the suffering is caused because of them, and if they were just a tiny bit better none of this would be happening!

Step 4:  Realize that the best revenge is living a long, fulfilling life, happy and content with yourself.  Know that there are actions you can take that would be infinitely better than what you’re doing right now.  Know that the pain you’re causing won’t fix what’s wrong with your life.

But you refuse to change.  Refuse to be the better person.  Live the rest of your numbered days aware that only death can stop you from fulfilling your plot, whether it’s cold grip be on be your own life or the one of your enemy.

Step 5:  Be silly and goofy with your treachery!  Have stupidly complicated plans that can easily be stopped with proper communication!

i'm not that hopeful about soc getting a second chance at adaptation because as far as i remember pjo movies were hated by fans (and rick riordan) from the start and they weren't really that huge but sab is so popular even amongst book fans and ofc leigh.

I don't think it goes according to the reception tbh? PJO movies were monetary hits, so was Spiderwick, so was The Golden Compass, and they all got remakes ~10 years later. It's about what still has relevance/fits the trends, and SOC hasn't lost its popularity since it was published in 2015 and also the spinoff might not even get greenlit by Netflix according to the crew. So yeah, I'm still hopeful!

*Given that a cover version of I Want to Hold Your Hand appears in the movie Across the Universe (2007) with change of context being about a female's singer unrequited love for her female friend who is straight, I couldn't help myself but associate the song with R.
