Is anyone else involved in the ASMR community?

I have been obsessed for a few years now, and I really have zero people offline who “get” it. This is the first time I’ve talked about it on Tumblr. I need some ASMR friends. Share your fav artists and vids with me! Also, for the record, I have yet to experience tingles; I’m watching for mainly relaxation.

some of these people post nearly every day and some haven’t posted in months. and i probably forgot a bunch too but i’m suddenly ashamed of my asmr habits lol. yes there are some people who make weirdly sexual videos BUT most of the community is kind and sweet and just here to relax people. asmr has helped me sleep and helped me with headaches and i don’t CARE if it’s kind of weird i highly recommend it to anybody who needs some assistance unclenching that jaw every now and again!

journal prompt questions

Hi! This post of for those who wants to get to know me better. The questions are prompts that can be written down in a journal or a diary and I just took them off of the internet (I will provide the links for where the questions come from at the end of this post). And, yes, everything is in alphabetical order.

are you studying at university?

Yes, I am studying journalism and media production at the Linnaeus University (Linnéuniversitetet in Swedish). I am a first year (started in the autumn of 2020). I am on the third course and everything –– lectures, tests, everything –– is done through the computer and the distans that comes with it.

For the first course I thought I would get to have the lectures at the university but my class was met with the word “Zoom” and it dawned on me that everything would mostly be through distans –– on the third everything is through distans.

do you have any insecurities?

Where to start. Yes. In fact, I have a lot of them. Most of the insecurities I have are about specific areas of my face. When I was around eight I smashed my nose in, which caused one of my eyes to be more pushed in which also makes my eyes look different sizes. I am paranoid my nose looks ugly and I am constantly thinking if my nose looked better had I not smashed my nose in. My lips are too small and my smile is wrong.

how do you do your makeup? 

My makeup is kind of simple, simply because my makeup skills are okay. I have seen girls who are 10 years younger than me who apply eyeliner in different shapes and styles. I can do a cat eyeliner pretty confidently after many years of struggling. But, my makeup is pretty simple. 

I have been looking up “aesthetic makeup” on YouTube quite a lot to get some inspiration of how I want to do my makeup. Dewy skin. Fluffy eyebrows. Long eyelashes. Blusher over the cheeks and nose. Dark or light lip colour. Highlight that even gods and goddesses can see. I am basically describing the makeup of an E-girl (or, at least a version of one).

how many languages do you speak?

I speak two languages: Swedish and English. Swedish is my native language and English is learned through school and the internet. I do also understand Norwegian and Danish –– because of the strong similarities to Swedish –– but I cannot speak them myself.  

how old are you?

21 years old (born 1999).

how tall are you?

165 cm or 5′5. 

what hair colours have you had? 

My natural hair colour is blond, then at the age of 13 I dyed it brown –– a medium brown I believe. Which I continued to have until the 1 February 2021 when I went to I hair saloon and dyed my hair a ginger / copper colour (the roots are a little a couple shades darker than the length). I really really like it!

what is your favourite book? 

I do like a lot of classics, one of my favourite is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (I use borrow a specific version of Jane Eyre from the library in my hometown because I really loved the cover). I also like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. 

A more contemporary book I enjoy reading is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (it is my favourite in the Harry Potter-series). I did enjoy the series as a whole, but the third is my favourite. I remember, as a child, I enjoyed the Twilight Saga –– mostly because everybody was reading them around 2010 when I was around 11 years old –– not taking notice on the obvious abusive relationship between Bella and Edward. Might do a post about that.

what is your name? 

My name is Wilma.

what is your opinion on asmr? 

I do watch and enjoy ASMR, it helps me calm down when I am stressed and it helps me fall asleep when I seem to cannot. I guess why I like it is because I can feel very lonely sometimes and videos were you are cared for kind of fills that need that need. I have watched ASMR since autumn 2014 (I even remember the video, “FX Make-up Artist Role Play” by ASMRrequests).

I have created a Google Doc with my favourite ASMRtists and ASMR videos. 

what movie(s) can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of? 

I have seen Notting Hill more times than I would like to admit. It’s no better than no other romance movie about a woman and a man who meet through a “meet cute”, they are from completely different worlds socially but fall in love, then falls out of love because of a misunderstanding then gets because together again. But it a guilty pleasure of mine because of that, because on some level I wish I would meet my one true love that way. I did not meet my boyfriend like that, it was much better... 

Jojo Rabbit (2019) is also a film I really like watching again and again because of the storyline and because the movie is just satire. Seeing Hitler as an imaginary friend of a young child is something you do not see every day.

what topic could you spend hours talking about? 

I have always found true crime and serial killers interesting. I just find the reasons for someone murdering someone else fascinating. Questions about true crime will often be in my Google Search history, to the point of Google probably wondering if I am planing something. For your information: no, I am not. 

Questions I have asked (and some answers): — Can everyone turn out to be a serial killer / murderer? — What makes a serial killer / murderer? — Are serial killers nature or nurture? — What is your chance of escaping a serial killer?

what weird food combinations do you really enjoy?

This food combination is not really weird because technically they should work together, but it was the only thing I could think of: a ham and mayonnaise sandwich.

Do you watch asmr, and if so what kinds of videos do you like and what are your favorite asmrtists? :)

i watch asmr every night! i almost exclusively watch roleplays, especially medical and haircut roleplays. i pretty much only listen to women, because a random male whispering in my ears is the opposite of relaxing lol. i like whispersred, glow, gibi, dana, latte, tingting, amalzd, kaya, gentlewhispering, asmrrequests, ppomo, jellybeangreen, miniyu, valeryia (although most of hers are super sexual and border on porn, i love her accent and her less "erotic" roleplays), and soyasmr. a lot of them are foreign or accented, because i'm super sensitive to accented english and non english languages. i always try to find non english channels, but most of them seem to be male :\

I was a photographer (fall asleep listening to asmrrequests and this is what happens). I had to get a series of like “rare” shots of idols. So I brought in Jiho and I would tell him how to pose/move him into the pose I wanted, and then every time I’d go to take the picture, he’d move or blink and ruin it somehow. and I was getting super frustrated and the rest of the production crew with me was getting frustrated. At some point a guy who I guess was my boss was just like “bring rosé in lets have her try”

and so we got rosé all posed and everything, I take one picture, and we get two of our special requirements done with one photo of her (like her winking + with short hair, or something). and PD is like “oh lit. let’s keep going with rosé so we can get home”

But I’m like “no I brought Jiho here, he was the model I chose, I want to keep trying with Jiho.”

So I do but I get the same results. and he was actually apologizing like look lady im sorry I can’t help it. I was getting so upset bc I would pose him, and then as soon as I go to take my picture he would move into his own pose bc he wanted to look good for the camera. Like that was the problem. just dumb wanna be pretty boy disease.

So we had to keep bringing rosé out. we got down to the last photo, and I refused to shoot it with her. I was so insistent that I could get Jiho to just take the picture like I wanted. eventually my pd’s started dipping out. my dream ended when I watched rosé leave my studio lol. She was so super tiny and pretty lol so both Jiho and I were both watching her
