⌞♥⌝ The hidden Purity and Decay mechanic!!

The Purity meter tracks tracks how Angel treats Ren. The higher the meter, the more likely Ren will consider Angel's treatment towards him as something done out of pure, genuine love. The lower the meter, the more likely Ren will start to associate Angel's treatment towards him with something tainted — something his father would normally do.

The Decay meter tracks Angel's "influence" over Ren. The higher the meter, the more decrepit things he'll suggest or indulge in. The lower the meter, the less likely he'll suggest/indulge in darker things. Basically... if Angel acts cruel towards others or shows an interest in darker themes (like his own father), Ren will start to regress back to his old ways in order to "submit" and placate them. But if Angel does the opposite, then he won't feel as inclined to bend himself backwards and indulge in hurting others to appease them.

So!! If the player has a high Purity and high Decay meter, Ren will see things like killing and mutilating others as an act of pure love. High Purity and low Decay will have Ren keep up the usual behaviour seen at the beginning of the game (A Normal Guy who does Normal Things™). Low Purity and high Decay will have Ren killing and torturing others as a way to appease Angel and keep them "satisfied" and interested in him. Low Purity and low Decay would just confuse Ren lmao ("Does Angel despise me because I didn't suggest kicking Olivia down an empty elevator shaft???? ;_;")

Hi Anon!!

Now that my asks are working again, I have a fair few kissing booth fics I need to get through! I hope I'll be able to complete a few of them soon.

In my drafts currently, I have some of my half to gift swapping for Rosinante x f!reader, Beckman x m!reader, Ace x f!reader, Buggy x f!reader, Law x f!reader, Aokiji x f!reader (NSFW), and a Smoker x f!reader (NSFW) that I am prioritising. Their recipients have all written and created little presents for me, and I can't wait to give them their gifts from me in return.

I also have a few paragraphs written for 'Hey Doc' and half of a fic for Heartbeats part 2 (Law x f!reader pregnancy) that I'd love to share. Then there's the 'dreaming of you' for ASL that I just can't seem to match up to the right vibe. It's been driving me crazy. There's also some older requests that I have been having a go at, considering I'm in my 'kid-pirate era' currently: Hanahaki for a Kid x gn!reader x Killer.

The fic I have written the most of is for Rosinante, but it reads more like a fairytale than anything else. Lots of fantasy themes in it, and I'd love to have more time to do it justice.

In my personal life, I have been booked as a session musician for an event this weekend, and have been prioritising my time to get my set list sorted and memorised so I can have fun with it. Country dance event, the other band members are so much fun: drummer, pianist and bassist all know each other and are just like 3 goofy uncles.

I think that's it so far. I would also like to say thank you for baring with me while I make some OC content and drawings. I do this as an exercise when my words aren't working and I need to focus on something else to keep the creativity flowing. Tobiuo has been fun to play with and I would love to tell her story one day.

I just want to put in my two cents on the whole band identity thing since stuff is going around atm: As far as I am aware, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, Vessel and the rest of the band have never explicitly stated that the masks are supposed to hide their identities for safety purposes.

Vessel said in that Metal Hammer interview that music is pushed based on who or who isn’t in a band, and that their identities are unimportant. To me, this says that their masks are a form of commentary against the popularity contest/politics within the modern music industry.

Not doxxing/harassing/doing other harmful behaviors to the band members should be the bare minimum and common sense, but of course, people have shown us and the band otherwise and I understand that has made some within the fandom become even more protective/vigilant with information related to the identities in the band.

That being said, I personally don’t see any issue with knowing who they are if you want to know and it shouldn’t be looked down on within the fandom. I think there can be a respectful divide between those who know and those who don’t want to. I found out by accident, but knowing what I know has given me a much deeper appreciation for Sleep Token in all of its iterations in a way I don’t think I would have gotten to otherwise.

I think some fans feel as though they’re betraying the band by knowing their identities and I disagree with that level of stigma. I can’t imagine any of the guys being offended about their fans looking into past projects/bands they’ve been involved in, and having huge support from all of us if one or more members decided to do a solo feature for another band would be incredible!

In my opinion, I think we need to reframe how their identities are handled within the fandom at large: they’re not in witness protection, they just prefer for their audience to put the majority of their focus on the music instead of the people playing it. It’s obvious that Vessel takes great pride in his craft and, based on the MH interview, it seems like his main goal here is to have his music speak for itself instead of becoming another soulless corporate shill. Just something for all of us to consider and I’d love to know your thoughts as well.

So sorry it took a few days to respond to this ask. I wanna be a little less subjective to give you a platform, Anon, but you are correct in the fact that Vessel and the band never said their anonymity was explicitly for safety (although there’s a valid argument that that is a given assumption, as you also stated).

If needed for context, the quote from the Amped Up Kerrang Article (idk if you meant this article, Anon, or if Ves said something in one of the Metal Hammer ones and I forgot; lmk in another ask or dm and i’ll add to this post):

“Art has become entangled with identity,” Him says of the band’s anonymity. “The aim is to provide something people can engage with without being obstructed by the identity of its creator. The true identities behind Sleep Token are irrelevant. Our identity is represented through the art and music itself.”

I do believe their anonymity is both a device for creating more powerful music as well as a clever way to market the band. Humans are naturally curious and we are drawn to mysteries. Its interesting to see how it has morphed into this beast of those who know and those who do not (and those who do know, pretend they do not, and then ostracize those who do know while also creeping in online spaces they should definitely not know about if not knowing identities mattered that much to them). The band’s anonymity has created a fanbase full of toxic interactions that I’m certain they never intended to cause.

I don’t fault any fan for their views, or if they choose to seek out identities or not. I only have a problem with it when views are forced onto others maliciously.

I got some potential dragon contenders.

Yes I am a nerd about these dragons.

Anyway— We’re starting off with the strike class!

Night fury: While being the least known dragon, they are given the title of “The unholy offspring of Lightning and Death itself”. They are a nocturnal species known for reaching deadly speeds and a destructive plasma blast. When they fly by I personally given the sound they produce when diving the “Whistle of Death”, but other than that, they are mostly silent flyers.

Skrill: The Skrill are a storm fairing dragon. They move where ever there is a storm and harness the lightning as a deadly attack. They are also natural predators against Night Furies. However these dragons are weak to water and are also attracted to metal things like actual lightning.

Triple Stryke: They are a scorpion like dragon with three stinger tails. They strangle you with said tails and often times will use them to hold and toss humans. On the off chance you piss the thing off so much you may earn a deadly sting. It also responds to click commands which can also calm them down if enraged or scared.

Deathgripper: These dragons seen used by Grimmel are mind controlled by their own venom. Similar to the Triple Stryke they also have a stinger tail. If the venom from the tail is concentrated enough any unfortunate dragon is under the control of who wields it. These dragons also are known for eating other dragons. They also have retractable tusks and a mucous/acid that they spit which ignites into fire.

Now our Boulder Class.

The Whispering Death and Screaming Death: These dragons live deep underground in colonies. Whispering Death’s are blind but are still deadly with rotating teeth like drills, and a ring shaped fire breath. Surprisingly there was Whispering Death that laid a Screaming Death, a much larger, louder, and deadlier relative. The Screaming Death is as said larger than these dragons, and they also have scales that are immune to dragon root, a plant known for overwhelming dragons

The Sharp class dragons (I know nadders are now in tracker but I’m goin’ by the original)

Razor Whip: The most stunning yet deadliest Sharp Class dragon to ever unfortunately meet. Their spines at the end of the tail are able to be flung like flying spear to kill their enemies. Their tears are also deadly which is a surprising fact. They are extremely territorial when brooding and have been known to kill SPECIFICALLY male dragons and vikings alike. Unfortunately they are very noticeable in the cold due to their metal scales making noise.

Deadly Nadder: Deadly Nadders are like the tropical bords of dragons. Adorning vibrant colors, but don’t be fooled. These dragons can and will hunt you down with their amazing sense of smell. Their spines on their tail are also poisonous.

The Mystery Class.

Grimknashers: These dragons pray on the weak. They hunt in packs and are primarily found on Vanahiem, the final resting spot of the dragons. Their predators are Sentinel dragons which look like stone statues, but are in fact dragons. Grimknashers projectile launch their teeth at the weak and sickly dragons to kill and later eat.

Lastly our beloved Titan Class dragons

The Red Death/Green Death: Depending on if it’s red or green determines if it’s a boulder or stoker class. This dragon is said to be the queen of dragons, making dragons of her nest bring her food to her volcanic home. She is one of the massive titans that can control the dragons, but not all like the king of dragons, the Bewilderbeast. She has a club like tail, large paws and talons, six eyes, a large maw, and a destructive fire breath. They are also known for eating other dragons. While they are not known for often flying, when they do it is the most terrifying thing.

i saw one of your posts from a while ago mentioned sidium kinda negatively and i wanted to ask if you knew what happened with them? i was just looking for a fic of theirs i read a while ago and its been wiped from everything. its like they disappeared.

Anon I cannot tell if you're being funny or not 😭 The only place Sidium/Corey/Cora/Burning-Cathedrals/.under.world./FirstnameLastnameArchive disappeared from is Ao3. They are still very much around in the fandom, despite fervently disagreeing with Sleep Token's anonymity and openly admitting they dislike the majority of Sleep Token's music and the people who listen to it.

Specifically about them leaving Ao3, they went on an extremely long-winded rant in the comments of a fic that was gifted to them about why they left the fandom.

Sidium condemned the entire fandom, not just those on Ao3, because they could not handle scrolling past Dead Dove, Rape/Dub-Con, or literally any kink ever. They asked us to leave them alone, although that is not a courtesy they are willing to extend to us.

These are the last 3ish paragraphs of a 20+ paragraph rant Sidium wrote in the comments of a fic that was wishing them well and stating they were missed. I wish I was joking.
