Hey Sonic, what's up with the scar on your face?? Does it have some epic adventure or story tied to it?

"Oh, man, you guys sure are curious about this old thing!" Sonic laughs, a hand clad in a black, finger-less glove pressing against his cheek. Just shy of covering the long scar that cuts a line through his fur, running from the swell of his cheek, following the curve of it out, and then down to the edge of his jaw. "Of course it has an incredible origin story, a grand and sprawling tale full of danger and intrigue, facing down a world ending threat that made this dashing, roguish hero who he is." He finishes his words with a charming wink and brilliant grin, arms spread as if waiting for his applause.

A picture of a champion that melts away after a silent beat, Sonic rubbing a hand through his quills, face turned away from the screen in a way that puts the scar in question practically on display. "Or at least, I wish I could tell you that was the case."

The smile he gives when he faces the camera again is sheepish, his expression tight. "Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed to admit I actually got this thing protecting Eggman of all people."

The way the hedgehog is positioned fills only half the camera's view and in the distance behind him, just within the edge of the screen, Miles is sat before the tilted surface of a drafting table. Half drawn sketches litter the top of it, waiting beneath the press of a pencil that doesn't move. Fur topped ears pointed and alert.

"He did something stupid-- as usual," Sonic laughs again, though the sound of it isn't quite right. Almost as if stuck. "And someone thought they'd be saving everyone a lot of trouble if they just, got rid of him."

"But y'know, it would get pretty boring around here if Eggface wasn't there to stir things up once in a while, so I had to step in and save the day." He presses a knuckle against the scar, stroking over the run of it. "Got a pretty nasty wound for the trouble, but as you can see it healed up nicely and I ended up with cool keepsake from the whole thing.

All in all, I call that a win." Sonic shrugs, sinking comfortably back in his chair. "Sorry if that's not the exciting story you were hoping for, but sometimes the things that stay with us can be pretty simple.” As he speaks, Sonic kicks off from the ground lightly, swinging his seat side to side. “I think that goes doubly so for scars. Thank you both for your questions." He finishes with a wave and an easy smile, and in the back ground-- just before the screen falls dark once more --Miles turns away from his work to stare across the room at the hedgehog.

🔵 green hills' very own local celebrity! 🔵 has been racing professionally since his teens. tails is (or was!) his main mechanic before passing the torch onto his new employee 🔵 also part of the underground drag racing circuit.. it takes the edge off! 🔵 among busting crime syndicates and shady operations, Sonic (and company) have been tasked with keeping an eye on the drag race scene that's been buzzing with the introduction of new and innovative (and highly dangerous) mods involving a resource called Chaos Fragments.

What is Tails so busy about? What is he inventing? Do you mind this a bit Sonic?

"Hi friend!" Sonic greets the camera with a bright, toothy grin and a wave. "Congrats on being our first question!" His wave turns to a thumbs up, before Sonic is rolling himself partway out of frame with a kick against the floor, so that the camera can once again put his companion on display. "What do you say Miles, wanna share what you're doing over there?" He calls, turning halfway around in his chair.

From the middle of the room, Miles gives both Sonic and the camera a tired look. Still, he slowly unfolds long limbs from their crossed position and climbs to his feet, scooping up the object he'd just been working on. Crossing the room to join Sonic, he holds up the oval shaped and multi-legged contraption to the camera.

"I call them Arach-Droids, they're perimeter bots designed to patrol the island for any signs of trouble or unusual activity." He explains smoothly, turning and tilting the matte gray, spider-like invention this way and that. "They're not exactly new pieces, I'm just refitting them to better withstand the dropping temperatures of the season," With this he cracks a small, crooked grin, stroking a hand over the creations smooth body. "And adding in a new module crafted to send out pulses when it detects the frequencies correlated with Egg-tech, which should scramble their systems but it's yet to be fully tested."

Sonic leans over from where he'd been out of frame, filling the screen with a slyly amused expression. "He's being modest, there isn't a doubt it's going to work just as predicted, like everything he makes." For his part, Miles says nothing to deny the words, only shrugging slender shoulders.

With that, the fox turns around and walks away from the computer, once more returning to his earlier position and getting back to work.

"As for the other part of your question, Anonymous..." As he speaks, Sonic wheels his chair back into the proper position within the camera's view, looking off to the side as he thinks. "I can't really say I mind it, he's pretty much always fussing with something or other and by now I've gotten used to it." Sonic gives an easy, 'what-can-you-do' kind of shrug. "And Miles wasn't exactly enthusiastic about starting up this blog, so I'm just glad he's humoring me enough to participate. Besides,” He leans close to the screen, voice dropping to a mock whisper. “He’s actually rather shy when it comes to new people, so if tinkering with his gadgets makes it a bit easier on him, who am I to complain?

Anyway, thanks for your questions, Anonymous.” Sonic says with an easy smile, leaning back to a normal distance. “We really appreciate it, and hope you’ll drop by again!“

i wanna say that your muzzle-colorless art style is, without any form of hyperbole, as visually appealing as one of those top-tier Ghibli movies. i really like it.

do you have any intentions to try and do more characters in that style?

i seriously doubt that my sonic art style is even worthy of being compared to Ghibli movies, however , i still appreciate the compliment 🖤 and i'm really glad that you find it appealing!
