It was just a boring day at home. You were sitting on your desk, typing away on your computer. You were working from home, and tried your best to remain focus. You needed to finish what you started, especially before Cat gets up and you get too distracted by their cuteness. Focus, girl, focus.

Alas, a notification from a certain app got your attention. You were being pinged and by Xyx. It was a bit unusual, considering the fact that he’s not usually active while working. Your husband definitely wasn’t a workaholic, but he was concentrated when he had work. Something that you seemed to not be able to do because you clicked on the notification, ignoring any voice in your head that would dare tell you it was a bad decision. It’s called taking a break you thought, arguing with that voice.

You clicked the app and went to the private channel you and Xyx usually talked in. You looked at the message.

xyx:  bzzzzt 

xyx: come in doll come in doll

You chuckle at the it, reminded of the time he first said something similar

You: bbzzzt reporting in!

xyx: bzzt I can’t hear you

Xyx: might need to switch to another method of communication

You: What did you have in mind?

xyx: well, since you’re my wife…

xyx: I could gift you my glorious face on your screen for a few minutes

xyx: what do ya say?

The stupid voice in your head wanted you to say no. Another one started fighting with it. Your husband wanted to call on this app while he was at work. You needed the break. Why would you not do so?

You: Hmmm

You: Sure!

xyx: enthusiastic, are we?

xyx: that excited to see me?

You couldn’t even deny it. You were. You really, really needed it.

You: Maybe

You saw xyx entering the RING RING RING voice channel and quickly clicked on it. His face was now on your screen. The man was wearing a black suit with a yellow tie. His emerald eyes were on yours and he looked so… gorgeous.

“Hey there, doll. You seem eager today.” Xyx spoke, a cheeky smile on his face, “Missing me, are ya?”

You rolled your eyes, not hiding your smile, “As if. I have better things to do than think of our tongue twister matches.”

“Oh is that so?” Xyx leaned back in his office chair, “I never said anything about tongue twisters, love.”

You blushed a bit, “Why’d you call?”

“Am I not allowed to call my wife for no reason?” he raised a brow.

“You usually don’t do video calls in the server at work.”

“Keeping track of me, are we?”

“No, I’m just observant.”

Xyx let out a small laugh. A laugh that you’d call one of your favorite sounds in the world. “Well, maybe you’re just special, or maybe I’ve got a break and I decided to see if I could call to test out how this works and needed my test bunny to help me out. Maybe it’s both. We’ll never know.”

“What’s Xyx without a little mystery.”

“You got it, babe.”

This time, it’s you laughing, “How’s work?

“Oh you know. Another meeting with a client, boring emails, documents, this and that.”

“Sounds like a lot.”

“Hmm… Maybe. Since my work’ll probably put you to sleep, what’ve you been up to?”

You raise a brow, “How curious. Thought you’d never ask about me. I just did some work.” work that I was meant to finish hours ago.

“Oh how specific. Very detailed, love.”

“Shut up. It’s even more boring than yours. At least you met a client.”

Xyx smiles, “I’d rather meet you, which reminds me… We both seem to need a little break from work.”

You wait for him to continue, “And?”

“And there’s a restaurant that opened up. It has some of our favorites and I’ve heard it’s got a good rating.”

You listen to his rambling, your smile only growing.

“So what do ya say we go check it out?” he finally asks.

You feel butterflies in your stomach at the question. You may have been married, but that doesn’t mean the butterflies would ever leave. There must be more of them now.

It wasn’t like you and Xyx don’t go out, you guys did go on dates. I mean– why wouldn’t you? It was usually on days he didn’t have work though. When he did, you guys just spent the night watching a movie or trying to make a heart shaped pizza only to start a food fight with eachother, or just doing something that involved the two of you. It was the best moments of your life. It was rare of him to ask you out during a call at work, but you were not complaining.

“Would this be a date?”

“Hmm… A date? I don’t know… I’d only go on dates with you if you were my wife.”

You play with the engagement ring on your finger right as he says that, “Hmm… Good, because I happen to be married.”

“Oh really now? Is he handsome?” Xyx gives you a smirk.

“Very. You could mistake him for a model, honestly.”

“Oh? Is that so? Where is this husband of yours.”

“At work, unfortunately.”

“How disappointing…”

“Truly...”

The two of you look at eachother, before laughing a bit. The antics you had would never fade, nor would your love for eachother.

“You better not come home late tonight” You clear your throat, “Or I may change my mind and not go.”

“Love, when have I ever been late?”

You look at him. Though it wasn’t often, there were times where he was late. You knew sometimes things got stressful, so you never got upset about it. Plus, he always found a way to make it up. You would, however, joke about it.

“Hmm. Don’t know, but I did need to warn you.”

He chuckles, smirking, “Doll, if it’s for you, I’ll always come home.”

 You blush at the confession, “I- I suppose I should get ready then. I’ll see you soon?”

“See you in a bit, love. Try not too miss me too much.”

“How could I not?”

“True, it’s impossible.”

You snicker, “Yeah, it is.”

You blow him a kiss and he blushes a bit more.

“Don’t think you won’t pay for that later, doll.”

Now you’re red, “I- uhm… Can’t wait, love. Bye!”

He gives a mischievous grin, “Bye, love”.

You end the call, getting all flustered. You were so excited. You really did hit the jackpot with him, didn’t you? He was so perfect. All it took was a call– All it could’ve taken was just a text– for you to turn into a smiling tomato. This man had made you the happiest woman that probably ever existed, and you would love to return the favor. Why? Because you certainly loved him and he definitely loved you.

russians took animals from a national park, from a place of the pristine steppe, and moved them to a safari park - a place for hunting.

From a place where they lived in a condition maximally similar to wildlife to a place where they'll be shot down and become a trophy for some russian official.

I want to vomit. They steal and maim everything they touch. And most important - they have zero valuation of life - human or animal whatsoever.

And I'm angry so much that the world is going to swallow this too.

Askania Nova is the largest protected steppe in Europe and is among UNESCO World Network Biosphere Reserves. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has unleashed mass ecological damage across the country that will take centuries to heal. Askania Nova is home to many critically endangered species of flora and fauna, and it is imperative to both Ukrainian and world heritage to preserve this precious biome.

More episodes of Russians committing ecocide in Ukraine

Askania-Nova is a biosphere reserve and national park in Kherson Oblast. It serves as a home for over 500 species of plants and over 3,000 animal species. Some of these species are on the endangered list.

The Russian occupiers have destroyed much of the reserve as well as hunted and removed animals to occupied Crimea and Russia.

The director of the reserve, Viktor Shapoval, explained the severe damage to the reserve, saying, "To date, 20 animals have been taken to Russia and the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. Some animals have died due to neglect, lack of qualified scientific support, and veterinary care. A significant part of the protected steppe – over 2,000 hectares – has burned due to fires of various nature."

However, this isn't the only nature reserve to suffer severe damage due to the Russian occupation. Petro Andriushchenko, Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol, stated that Russian forces earlier destroyed the Meotyda nature reserve, which stretches from Mariupol to the village of Babakh-Taram. Russian shelling and deployment of mllitary forces here destroyed unique nesting sites for birds that are red listed.

In another case of ecocide, Russian forces also destroyed the Chaiechyi Ostriv (Gulls’ Island) situated on the Bilosarai Spit. It held an important mating site for many species of birds.

The latest nature reserve to fall victim to Russian occupiers is Kamiani Mohyly (Stone Graves) nature reserve near the village of Nazarivka in the Mariupol district of Donetsk Oblast. Military camps and activity have been seen there. "Given their behaviour and the nature of their activities, including the use of heavy military equipment and the creation of shooting ranges [at the nature reserve], it’s logical to conclude that the Kamiani Mohyly reserve has been ruined," Andriushchenko said.

Hallo, long time reader, first time caller - ich gebe zu, ich hab diese ganze Schloss Einstein Sache immer nur von weitem beobachtet und mich gefragt, wann der Moment kommt, wo ich da aus Versehen reingezogen werde - und jetzt ist es passiert: ich hab heut Nacht von Schloss Einstein geträumt 😅🙈

Jetzt also meine Frage: als newbie, wo fange ich da am besten an? Was muss ich wissen? Kann ich irgendwo alte Staffeln gucken? Help! 😅

Schloss Einstein ist eigentlich zwei Serien in einer: Von Staffel 1 bis 10 spielte die Serie im fiktiven Seelitz und wurde von Askania Media produziert, seit Staffel 11 spielt sie in Erfurt und wird von Saxonia Media produziert. Bis auf drei übernommene Charaktere sind die beiden Teile aber komplett unabhängig voneinander.

Wenn man sich vor allem für die Nolin-Story interessiert, kann man bei Staffel 26 anfangen, die gibt es komplett auf Kika.de und der ARD Mediathek. Ansonsten kann man, bis auf Staffel 12 und der neuen Staffel 27, eigentlich bei jeder Staffel anfangen, da es meist keine größeren staffelübergreifenden Storys gibt (es werden allerdings ab und zu mal Ereignisse und Charaktere aus früheren Staffeln erwähnt). Von Staffel 1 bis 16 gibt es auch vor jeder Folge einen Recap, der noch mal das wichtige Vorwissen für die jeweilige Folge zusammenfasst, da Schloss Einstein damals nur ein Mal wöchentlich lief (später dann montags bis freitags, ab Staffel 27 dann wieder ein Mal wöchentlich aber mit zwei neuen Folgen).

Staffel 24, 25 und 26 gibt es komplett in der ARD Mediathek und auf Kika.de, ältere Staffeln findet man auf YouTube und Dailymotion.

This is the second piece of information I'm seeing on these guys today, so I thought I'd share a bit of my knowledge on them too

About 7% of the world's population of Przewalski's horses live in Ukrainian nature reserve Askania-Nova, which has been under r*ssian occupation for more that two years. There have been known instances of endangered animals in this particular reserve being killed in fires, that also destroyed several endangered plants. Also r*ssians are transporting (stealing) huge numbers of animals to zoos in RF. The population, located in Chornobyl exclusion zone, is also at risk because of the mines, placed there by guess who and higher background radiation, caused by disturbance of radioactive debris in 2022 (again, you already know who did it).
