These little dudes.

They're technically hair elastics but they're terrible at that (they get caught in my hair so bad). What they're really good at is being tiny rubber bands!

I popped one on my finger for funsies and it fit perfectly. So I moved it over to the middle finger of my right hand and, boom, Ace Pride ring baybeee!

Obviously they may not work for everyone, but I cannot stand wearing rings and I've been wearing this rubber band ring for three days now and it hasn't been bothering me at all. To quote Ned Flanders, "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!"

Bonus: a whole packet of these things is, like, $1 US at multiple retailers and there are bands of different diameters in each packet.

So there you go, my fellow Aces!

But, nah, really, it is anecdotally interesting to see this pattern because my home corner of Tumblr is populated by a lot of people who are asexual, aromantic, sex-repulsed, queer, trans, gay, lesbian, bi, pan, poly, mentally ill, neurodivergent, all kinds of other situations/experiences, or any combination thereof. I'm in there too.

And in my experience, members of these (overlapping) populations don't always have "typical" experiences re: sex, romance, kissing, &c. because of How We Are. We may not find ourselves in situations that could result in kissing because of how we choose to or are forced to live.

I haven't been kissing anyone because I'm asexual and never felt any urge to pursue activities like kissing (I'm also sex-repulsed, which for me seems to include kissing), because I'm mentally ill and am often thinking about suicide instead of kissing, and because I'm queer re: gender and don't (can't) fit into social expectations of femininity.

tl;dr: yeah, it's complicated; YMMV

Girl get's admitted to mental health ward due to trauma from rape gets raped by 13yr old male patient. She was not helped despite staff being aware of what was happening.

I'm so horrified by what happened to this girl in a place where she was supposed to be to safe and given help to heal from her previous sexual assault. She is unable pursue legal action due to the severity of the trauma the rapist caused her as well as the legal process itself. She would be required to admit herself in that same hospital in order for them to monitor her mental wellbeing during the case.

I can't find anything to express the rage I felt when I first of this case.
