Standing in front of a human shaped dummy in the private training room, Steve was showing you all the best ways to direct an attack to assure your opponent goes down, and stays down.
After your mission and injury, Steve was out for a few days on a business trip the same day that you were medically cleared to get back to work. So, it had been a while since the last time you trained together.
You both decided it was a good idea to just take it easy and review what you already know as a means of studying for your final evaluation coming up.
Every agent had to take a final evaluation upon completing every single training course shield had to offer. It was a big deal, and though nobody had any doubts that you were ready for it, it could never hurt to review and improve.
"Knock knock, bitches." Bucky announced, causing both of you to stop.
"Hey, Bucky boy" You greeted him.
"What's going on, Buck?" Steve questioned.
"I dunno, I'm bored." He shrugged. "Can I just sit and watch?"
"Don't you have work to do?" You asked with a giggle.
"I finished!" He defended himself. "You two get to spend so much time without me, it's only fair I get to insert myself here whenever I want to."
"You act like this is personal and not us doing our jobs" Steve raised an eyebrow at him.
"That's a technicality I'm choosing to ignore." Bucky sat on the ground with his back against the wall.
Steve looked at you to make sure it was okay that he sat and watched, but he caught something he wished he hadn't. Just for a split second, you narrowed your eyes at Bucky, and he gave you a very subtle nod back.
He realized that it very well could've been nothing, but it definitely seemed like it was something.
Though Steve didn't bring it up at all, he made mental note of it. He was confident in his deep knowledge of both of his friend's behavior, and he was choosing to trust his gut on that observation.
The rest of your time together, Bucky sat and watched quietly, only occasionally responding to conversations that would break out that weren't work related. Towards the end, Steve wanted to confirm some scheduling, so he cut the physical work a few minutes early.
He sat on the bench with you as you pulled a sweatshirt over your head, and your everyday sneakers onto your feet.
"Okay, so, your final evaluation is one week from today." Steve noted. "So this week will be really simple, we can keep doing this, just reviewing what we've already been over. But our training together is still supposed to run until the end of the month so we have three extra weeks together."
"What am I supposed to do when this ends?! I'll be so bored without you!" You exclaimed.
Steve chuckled. "You should be happy that you survived my course!"
"I mean I am, but then what?"
"Maybe another Avenger will take you under their wing." Steve shrugged.
"I can only think of one Avenger with wings" you noted.
"What do you want to cover in the three weeks together after your evaluation?" He asked.
Your lips formed into a pout. "I know what it should be, but I don't wanna do it"
"Restraints?" Steve questioned sympathetically.
"Restraints... I guess." You grumbled.
Every fighter had a weak spot. Just one thing that made their stomachs turn and their hearts race, something that really scared them regardless of mental work or preparation. Some people couldn't handle heights, didn't do very well when they saw blood, and really freaked out over handling certain weapons.
You just happened to be terrified of being restrained, which unfortunately was a very plausible situation to find yourself in as an agent. There was no reason why you were terrified of it, nothing happened in your life to make you fear it as much as you did. But the thought of having your hands or legs tied made you feel claustrophobic in a way you couldn't even describe using words.
"It'll be scary at first, but we'll work on it" Steve reassured. "Wouldn't you rather learn how to get out of any sort of restraint with someone you trust then find yourself in a situation where you're tied up at the hands of an enemy with no way out?"
"Logically yes, but in reality I would like neither of those things to happen." You responded with a twinge of sarcasm.
Steve laughed, "okay well, I wouldn't like that to happen to you either! But once you learn how to escape from a bunch of different scenarios, you won't be scared of it anymore. Knowledge is power!"
"I know you didn't just knowledge is power me, you loser!" You joked with a snort.
"Oh I certainly did, and I'll do it again." He stated with a smile. "Confidently!"
"Okay, I guess I trust you enough to teach me." You committed to the endeavor.
"Good job, pushing yourself is how you grow better as a fighter." Steve praised your bravery. "We'll start with the easiest and work our way up to the hardest, then you'll be such a pro at it that nothing could ever hold you back."
"Yeah, yeah." You playfully rolled your eyes.
"Then after our training together is officially over, I'm going to block off my schedule these same two hours every day to just cry." Steve put a hand over his heart.
"Can you do that to my schedule too? Maybe we can cry together?"
"I'll see what I can do." Steve agreed, before opening his arms up for a hug. You happily hugged him back. "Good job today! You're going to do great on your assessment no matter who is assigned to asses you. We all know it."
"Thanks for teaching me!" You smiled. "In all seriousness, I've really enjoyed getting to learn from you. Thanks for all the time you've put onto me."
"Anytime, Bug. I've been enjoying it just as much." Then Steve turned to include Bucky in their conversation. "What are you guys up to for the rest of the day?"
"Nothing, well, I think that's pretty obvious considering I'm just sitting here" Bucky shrugged. "Do you guys want to hang out? Maybe we can walk to that cool park a few blocks from here? Watch the sunset and get some fresh air?"
"That sounds good to me." Steve agreed. "Buggy, you in?"
Both boys watched as you stood up and slipped your gym back onto your shoulder. "As fun as that sounds, I can't. You know Agent 563? We made plans to have an early dinner together so I have to get ready to leave here soon."
"Booooo, buzz kill!" Bucky announced dramatically.
"That doesn't mean you can't go on a cute little sunset date with your boyfriend without me, Bucky." You smiled at him. "By all means, you boys have fun."
"I think that's great." Steve told you, ignoring the boyfriend comment. "563 is a great agent, and I think it's important that you girls stick together.
"Lord knows we need some time away from the amount of testosterone in this place." You agreed.
“Even me?" Bucky pouted.
"Even you." You smiled at him, approaching him for a hug that you had to bend over pretty far to get. "And Steve. I love you both, but I need to interact with other people than just you two!"
"Hey! I only talk to you and Steve and I'm doing just fine" Bucky defended himself.
"What about Natasha?" Steve wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at him.
"Don't bring up Natas-" Bucky started passionately
"I'm leaving!" You announced before an argument broke out. "Love you boys! Have fun on your date! I hope you hold hands and kiss each other's foreheads!"
Steve and Bucky stared at each other as you walked out of the room. The door closed behind you, and your foot steps faded until completely inaudible to either of their heightened ears.
"Why are you actually here, Buck?" Steve asked.
"You're in love with her." He claimed deadpan.
Steve's heart sank, but controlled himself the best he could as to not bluff. "Why would you say that?"
"I figured it out last night." Bucky admitted. "I was trying to sleep but my brain wouldn't turn off. I was thinking about the dynamic of our little friend group and it hit me like a train. I had to come confirm it with my own eyes."
Steve puffed out a performative chuckle and put his hands on his hips. "You understand how crazy that sounds, right?"
"Is it though?" Bucky raised an eyebrow while standing up from his spot on the floor. "I never noticed it until today. Your eyes physically twinkle when you look at her. Your cheeks have been pink since I got here, and you never stopped smiling until she left the room. Encouraging, sweet, considerate..."
"It's my job to be encouraging towards her, Buck. I'm her boss." Steve huffed, feeling annoyed and attacked by this conversation.
"Why won't you admit it?" He asked.
Steve stopped in place and noted Bucky's furrowed brows. "Wait, why do you seem so upset about this?"
"I'm not upset." Bucky denied, shaking his head. "But if you're actually pining after her, Punk..."
"What?" Steve's heart was pounding.
"Do you like her?" Bucky asked one more time, his tone was nothing but serious. His face was stone cold.
"I'm her boss." Steve slumped. "There's a power imbalance, I can't break her trust."
"And if she joins the Avengers?" His head tilted.
"She just got out of a relationship."
"It's already been a month since then." Bucky insisted. "Steve, this is between me, you, and the grave. I'm serious."
Steve threw his head back with a groan. It had been a while since he had seen Bucky this worked up about anything, so he knew it was important. But getting the admission to slip past his tongue felt morally wrong and partially impossible.
"Steve."
"Yes." He said simply, staring up at the ceiling.
"How long?"
"How long what?" Steve sighed.
"How long have you had feelings for her?"
"Since the day I met her..." Steve mumbled.
"Oh my-"Bucky rubbed his face with his hand before running his hand through his hair. "You hid it too well."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Steve froze up as his mind ran laps around Bucky's behavior. He already knew what was coming before he could admit to it.
"You're going to hate us, but I need to tell you something..." Bucky said apologetically.
Meanwhile, you were having a fantastic time with Agent 563, Clara. Though the two of you were friendly around the compound, you never had the chance to actually sit and have a long conversation with her before. Both of you getting the chance to vent about the workplace environment and culture to someone who actually understood what it was like to experience it in the unique way you did was refreshing to say the least.
After dinner neither of you were ready to end the conversation there, so you grabbed ice cream on the way back, and walked the whole way home together. At a certain point, work was a topic long forgotten as you two bonded over other similar interests like movies, hobbies, family, you two even shared the same love for video games.
By the time you made it back to your apartment, there was a smile on your face and a lightness to your heart you hadn't felt in a while. It was obvious that work was making you feel heavy and alone for a while, but you didn't realize how bad it actually was until you got away from it.
That smile was wiped off your face when you opened the door to Steve sitting on your couch with a stiffness in his body and an anger on his face you had never seen before.
"Hey, are you alright?" You immediately asked as his head snapped over to you the second the door opened.
Alarm bells were instantly ringing. Your heart dropped into your stomach, and raced with a speed you didn't quite know was possible.
You had given Steve and Bucky a key to your place just like you had keys to theirs, but the three of you typically hung out at Steve's place. Either of them coming to your apartment was a rare occurrence, and them ever using your key was even more rare.
Steve watched you kick off your shoes and hang up your purse, he felt so many emotions all at once that he couldn't even begin to get the words out.
You hesitantly approached, he still didn't answer. "What's wrong?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Steve questioned. His tone very obviously gave away his state of emotion, it only made you feel more anxious.
You had a suspicion what this was about, but number one rule as an agent was to never incriminate yourself. "Tell you what?"
"Don't do that with me." Steve denied. "Bucky already told me. I don't understand why you guys would do that and keep it from me."
Your posture slumped knowing that this reaction was exactly why you and Bucky decided to keep a dirty little secret from Steve. So you sat down on an armchair next to the couch he sat on so you could explain.
But, he didn't even give you a chance to defend yourself before he spoke again. "Did either of you even consider how hooking up with each other would affect me?"
"Hey now, let's get some facts straight." You didn't let him go any further. "I feel like the term hooking up is giving what we did way more credit than what it was worth, and yes, we did consider you, which is why we both agreed we weren't going to tell you."
"Great, thank you so much for the consideration. That makes me feel really secure in my friendships with both of you!" Steve said sarcastically, feeling betrayed and admittedly heartbroken beyond words.
"Wait" You shook your head. "I know that sounds bad, but you have to understand that we all have different morals and personal opinions when it comes to sex and we knew you wouldn't understand."
"What is there to not understand?" He questioned. "You two had sex with no regard to how it would effect our friendships with each other."
"First of all, it wasn't sex, there was no penetration." You corrected. "Second of all, we didn't think it would effect our friendships because that's all we are to each other."
"I don't care about the details or what actually went down between you. Had either of you told me you liked each other from the get go it wouldn't have been a problem. I would've been happy for you two." He grumbled.
"We don't like each other." You denied. "We were just at the right place at the right time, things moved fast, and that's that. There's no romance happening, nothing to make social group weird. We all know Bucky likes Natasha."
"Well it's weird now." Steve glared at you.
"What do you want me to do now? It already happened, I can't go back and change it." You noted. "Want me to suck your dick too and call it even?"
"This isn't funny and I really don't appreciate that comment." He scoffed.
"It wasn't weird for you until Bucky opened his mouth, huh?" You asked him. "Was it weird for you two weeks ago when it actually happened?"
"I don't care." He swallowed thickly.
Feeling quite taken back by his behavior, and a little more that a little annoyed that Bucky spilled the beans, your attitude came out. "I'm a grown woman capable of making grown choices, and I don't owe you an explanation of what I choose to do with my body, Steve."
"No, you don't." He agreed, but you made him snap. "But I'm feeling betrayed and disrespected by the two of you, and that, I do feel like I'm owed an explanation for."
"Are you mad at Bucky too?" You snapped right back. "Huh? Did you yell at him?"
"He told me the truth." Steve rationalized.
"Yeah, well I never lied to you." You pointed out. "And why did Bucky feel the need to tell you what we did privately? Huh? Do you feel like I'm allowed to feel betrayed and disrespected for him going against our word?"
"I'm not here to tell you how to feel. I'm here to try and rationalize any of the choices we're making right now." He raised his voice. "My friends are the only family I have, and I refuse to lose a friend I've already lost many times before over a stupid choice."
Just with that one sentence, he broke your heart. "And that right there, is exactly why I thought it was okay in the first place." You growled as all of your self defenses came rushing in to protect you from the words you always knew to be true but never wanted to admit.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm expendable to you and Bucky. I always have been." You stood up from your spot next to him. "You say you're upset because you didn't want to ruin the dynamic of the friend group but guess what? The dynamic has always been you and Bucky hanging out and me just kind've being there. You'll always choose each other, and everyone will always choose someone else over me."
"That's not true." Steve denied. Although he was seeing red with anger, your words made him sad for you.
"I'm never anyone's first choice, Steve. You'll always choose Bucky, Bucky will always choose you. My sister will choose her husband, Harvey will always choose literally anything but me. Nobody else here is willing to be my friend because it's like social suicide, and I had to completely isolate myself from my normal civilian friends for this job." You explained. "I'm the best agent so I get used and abused and harassed out of the pack, but if I become an avenger I'll be singled out as the worst one. You and Bucky claimed you'd always have my back but now I know that's not true."
"Stop saying that." Steve shook his head.
"Nobody wants me." You spat, Steve could tell you believed that to be true.
It shattered his already broken heart, because if you had even the slightest clue of how bad he wanted you, you'd never say those words again. But he couldn't tell you, it simply wasn't an option.
"Nobody wants me ever but that night, Bucky wanted me. So forgive me for latching onto any ounce of human connection I can get these days. That choice was never about you, and I'm sorry that it hurt your feelings but I'm struggling more than I ever have and right now I need to put me first."
"Bucky and I have always loved having you around."
"That might be true, but you proved my point with your own mouth." A single tear fell down your cheek, but you wiped it away just as fast as it fell. "You said you weren't willing to lose Bucky. But right now it feels like you're willing to lose me."
"Don't be mad at him." Steve shook his head.
"He had no right telling you that without consulting me first." You denied. "Unless he broke some kind of code or something there was no rea-" Your own words made reality wash over you like an angry ocean wave trying to swallow you whole. "Oh my god."
"No-" Steve shook his head.
"He broke bro code, didn't he?" You asked Steve, feeling suddenly nauseous.
Steve felt nauseous too. His brain couldn't think of anything but the truth at the moment, but he was horrified. Though he tried to formulate the correct response, nothing felt right at the moment. "You slept in my bed."
"Oh my god." You took a slow step back, unable to process what information you were just receiving. He watched as your face turned just as red as his. "You like me?"
A billion different things came to mind. So many scenarios, so many possibilities, every single time you suppressed your own feelings for Steve because you never thought a man like him could ever love you. It was wrong. Yet all this time, he was harboring a secret of his own. And even then it was still wrong.
"You slept in my bed while you had a boyfriend." Steve spoke so firmly you swore you could feel the bass vibrating the floor.
"This whole time you we're hoping I'd jump right into your arms after breaking things off with Harvey?"
Steve knew where this was going, and the look on your face was just as horrified as he felt. Your lip was wobbling, your hands were shaking, and with every statement you took a step back. "No. But I did think that there was enough happening between us that you wouldn't go for Bucky."
"I slept in your bed because I trusted you, you asshole." You cried, pointing a finger at him. "I slept in your bed while staying with Harvey because he was the only man crazy enough to actually love me and I didn't ever think anyone would be crazy enough to love me ever again."
Steve opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. His jaw hung open for a moment, before it closed, then opened again. "Well then I guess you were wrong."
"I was wrong." You agreed, wiping your face once more as you watched his eyes tear up. "I trusted you to keep me safe in training, protect me against the people who are harassing me. I trusted you as a friend, a confidant. I even trusted you enough to see me naked, but I was wrong."
"This is exactly why I didn't tell you." Steve mumbled. "Because you trusted me and I didn't want to break it. Bucky didn't know."
"So let me get this straight. You had a secret that you kept from both of us, but Bucky's actions are excusable because he didn't know. My actions are inexcusable but I also didn't know, and we did the exact same thing together?" You asked. "You spend a lot of time talking shit about men's double standards around the compound for someone who turned around and is treating me the exact same way."
"I'm trying to talks through this so we can all go back to being friends."
"You we're never my friend." Your words cut through his heart like a knife. "You we're someone being nice to me in hopes of getting in my pants one day."
"No, that's not true." Steve pleaded, blinking back tears. "Our friendship means a lot to me. That's why I'm this upset in the first place."
"I don't think I can ever go back to being just friends with your or Bucky ever again." You cried. "All of you guys here are the same, I can't do this anymore."
Steve watched you clutch your stomach, as you spun on your heels and walked straight for the door. Little did he know, you felt so nauseous you were trying your hardest not to throw up.
"So that's it?" Steve asked, standing up from the couch. "You're going to throw away everything the three of us have built together as friends because we can't have a rational conversation?"
"A rational conversation? You can't even admit that you're only mad at me because you wanted to get into my pants and now you feel like you can't because Bucky got me first." You turned around to look at him. "That's all I am to anyone. That's the only relationships I've been able to form since I've gotten in this compound. You, Bucky, Harvey. I'm not a human to you guys, I might as well just be a glory hole."
"You're misunderstanding me." Steve shook his head, eyebrows raising upward like a sad puppy.
"That makes two of us." You turned back around and grabbed your packed duffel near the door that you always kept for emergencies.
"I care about you, you know that right?"
"It sure doesn't feel like it right now." You denied his claim.
"Where are you going?" Steve asked. "This is your house."
"The compound has never felt like home to me." The door swung open. You didn't even look back at him before stepping through the doorway. "Don't worry about where I'm going, just say the fuck away from me."
And just like that, the door slammed behind you and rattled the ground. You set off like a storm on the other side, and Steve was left on his own to crumble. Only when he was sure you were gone for good did he let tears fall down his face.
Trying your absolute hardest to hold it together you rushed through the compound hallways, desperately trying to avoid seeing anyone you knew before you made it to your car.
You didn't have it in you to have a face to face conversation with Bucky at the moment, but you did feel like you needed to tell him that the friendship was over, so you called him instead.
"Hey, bug." He answered sympathetically.
"Why did you tell him?" You cried.
"I had to." There was a deep sigh from the phone line. "What did he tell you?"
"Why the fuck are you protecting him?" You asked. It was admittedly a little harsh, but Steve had already amped you up.
"So he told you everything." Bucky stated. "I figured out he was in love with you last night. I couldn't in good conscience keep our secret anymore. He needed to know because the longer we kept it from him the worse this would've been."
"He doesn't love me, Bucky." You denied. "What he did wasn't love. It was control, and it was power, but it's not love."
"I can tell you're upset with him, but I don't think that was his intention." Bucky calmly denied. "Give it a few days to settle, alright? You can be mad at us all you want and I understand why, but emotions are high right now and it seems like both you and Steve are villianizing each other."
"I'm going to be gone for the weekend." You stated, needing to set firm boundaries. "I love you, but you hurt me and I need to get away."
"I'm sorry, bug. I really am." He apologized.
"You, Harvey, and Steve will all be blocked from reaching me unless it's during work hours. And as of now, I can't be a friend of yours."
"I understand" Bucky accepted the repercussions of his actions, though he was sad about it. "I hope you know we care a lot about you. I'm sorry this is all happening this way, but I still want you to be safe. Will you let someone know where you're going? Maybe Commander Bennett?"
"Yeah, I will." You agreed, feeling relieved that at least Bucky was being rational. "I hope in a little while we can figure this out between you and I, but it's going to take some time."
"I hope so too." He agreed. "Stay safe, and be smart. I'm here for you whenever you're ready."
You hung up, drove off, and the second the compound was in your rear view mirror it felt like the weight of the world was off your shoulders.
The weekend came and went simultaneously way too fast, yet painfully slow at the same time. You stayed with your sister who welcomed you with widely opened arms, and really took the time to listen to you when you spoke. She let you get it all out, she wiped your tears, then by morning you'd put on a brave face for Luca.
Spending a lot of quality time with him was truly the only reason you hadn't fully lost your mind. By Monday you felt well enough to face the shit show that was work, but it didn't last very long.
You had made it a whopping 4 hours into the work week before getting sent to Steve's office with an ice pack pressed to your cheek and Commander Bennett opening the door for you.
Steve looked up as the two of you entered, but your eyes were glued to the floor. You didn't need to look around to see where the chair was. You already knew.
He hoped that Bennett couldn't feel the thick tension that filled the room, but it was unusual for him to follow you to his office, and he did take note of how bad you looked.
Well, unfortunately for him he always thought you were stupidly beautiful, but your eyes were swollen. You looked exhausted, drained, and nothing like your usual fiery self.
"We need to do something about 212." Commander Bennett cut straight to the chase. "We can't keep cutting into her work time and having her get hurt because 212 and all his awful friends are picking on her."
"What happened?" Steve asked, trying to see what was under the ice pack.
"I saw them trip her with my own eyes. I don't know if they thought I wasn't watching, or if they thought they were being sly enough that I wouldn't notice, but this cannot continue." He stood firm. "Poor thing smacked her face against the floor, but she still is claiming that reprimanding them will make it worse. So what's the solution?"
Steve sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Do you have any ideas, Commander?"
"Give them one more strike. Let them all know that if they pull this again one more time before evaluation we will disqualify them from taking the test." He suggested. "That includes physical, and verbal attacks."
"That's a really good idea, thank you." Steve agreed. "I'll talk to them today."
"Are you comfortable with that, 306?" Bennett asked you.
"Yes, sir." Your voice was hoarse.
"I'm going to give her the option of cutting her work day short or continuing her training, but no matter what we all know she doesn't need more training." He noted. "I'll leave her with you so you guys can figure out your schedules."
"Thank you." Steve said politely.
Bennett left and the door clicked shut behind him, but your eyes stayed glued to the floor. Your options were go to your apartment and sleep the rest of the miserable daylight away, or spend two hours alone in a room with Steve.
You both already knew what the choice was going to be. There was no need to discuss the schedule change.
Steve knew you hated his guts right now, and he was still feeling hurt by you, but it took a few moments for it to dawn on him that he still needed to be a boss and a leader regardless. So he put his best foot forward.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
There was barely any compassion in his voice, he might as well have been a robot, so you didn't bother responding. You didn't even bother looking at him.
"Would you like to talk about the incident?" He pushed.
"No, Captain." You responded, coming to the same awareness that he was still your boss.
Your use of his title and refusal to look at him felt like a shot to the heart. "Would you like to be relieved of duties until tomorrow?"
"Yes, Captain."
"You are dismissed."
Just like the last time he saw you, you walked out on him without as much as a glance back knowing the next time you'd be forced to see him would be evaluation day.

Zack and Cloud end up in a certain corner of Wall Market and proceed to do something of a reverse heist. They obtain thirst trap body pillows of the firsts and sneak them into each other's rooms - Sephiroth ends up with an Angeal pillow, Angeal has Genesis', and Genesis has Sephiroth's. What happens???!!!
The Body Pillow Fiasco
• After borrowing one of Sephiroth's shirts (without asking), Genesis does what all good friends do and launders and irons it for him.
• Knowing he's a busy man (and because Sephiroth would rip him a new one), Genesis decides to just drop it off in Sephiroth's apartment when he's not there.
• He uses the extra key card he stole borrowed from Sephiroth and lets himself inside, humming as he does so. 'I'm such a good friend,' he thinks to himself, 'look at me being the pinnacle of human decency, putting this shirt back in his room where I found it—'
• Genesis stands in the doorway of Sephiroth's room. He has the folded shirt in one hand and holds the door open with the other.
Tumblr media
• No no that can't be right.
• Genesis closes the door. He waits a few seconds. Then he swings it open again.
Tumblr media
• After confirming he isn't having a LOVELESS-mania-induced-incident, Genesis slams the door shut, throws Sephiroth's shirt onto the nearest surface and books it out of the apartment.
• He sprints across the building all the way back to the 49th floor. Passing SOLDIERs and other personnel wonder why Commander Rhapsodos looks like he's seen the death as he barges into Angeal's office.
• Angeal looks up from his paperwork.
Angeal: Hey, Gen. What's—
Genesis: SEPHIROTH IS IN LOVE WITH YOU.
• Angeal rolls his eyes and goes back to his reports.
Angeal: That's nice, Gen. And did him and I end up in bed, married, or in a polycule with you this time?
• Genesis stomps into the room and throws himself on the opposite chair.
Genesis: I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT FANFICTION!
Angeal: Then for the love of the goddess you so revere, Rhapsodos, stop dumping rum in your morning coffee.
• Genesis tears the papers from Angeal's hands and forces his friend to look at him.
Genesis: I'm not drunk, you oaf! I walked into Sephiroth's room and found an Angeal body pillow on his bed!
Angeal: What were you doing in Sephiroth's apartment?
Genesis: I was returning a shirt I borrowed from him!
• Angeal sits up, looking hopeful.
Angeal: Sephiroth owns a shirt?
Genesis: THAT'S NOT THE POINT! HE HAD A YOU BODY PILLOW ON HIS BED! HE PROBABLY SLEEPS WITH IT OR USES IT TO—
Angeal: Don't finish that sentence, you've described enough of your fanfiction escapes. I get the picture.
• While Genesis rants about how Sephiroth is a sick individual, Angeal starts to feel sad. He's always been Sephiroth's go-to emotional support friend. And the two had always maintained a close and harmonious relationship. If Sephiroth was going as far as sleeping with an Angel body pillow, perhaps he was feeling lonely and using it to feel safer at night.
• Angeal starts thinking about Sephiroth not having any family, being raised in a lab, sent to war when he was still a prepubescent child....
Genesis: And then Zack's going to start dating Strife, and I'm going to end up alone—WHY ARE YOU CRYING?
• Angeal is literally sobbing, hysterical by the thought of Sephiroth wanting to be nurtured and swaddled by him. Angeal's in tears. He may be the imposing silver General, but he's still their baby friend who's younger than them.
• Angeal is up and running out of his office before Genesis could get another word out.
Genesis: Where are you going!?
Angeal: TO LOVE HIM
• When he's alone, Genesis sinks into the seat and groans. "Well if it was that easy I should've sneaked a Genesis body pillow in everyone's beds ages ago. We could've been in the middle of an AGS fic by now."
Tumblr media
• Sephiroth may not own many shirts, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know exactly how many shirts he does have.
• And if something goes missing from his apartment, it usually has Genesis's hand all over it.
• Sephiroth had already been to Angeal's apartment looking for a spare key card to Genesis's door. He found it, and he also acquired another curious object.
• Sephiroth disapprovingly grabbed the Genesis body pillow from Angeal's bed and sighed. Oh Genesis. Leaving his rubbish all over the place.
• No worries! Sephiroth will just return the body pillow to Genesis's apartment before Angeal can find it and scold their poor, flamboyant redhead. He already has to go in there to retrieve his shirt anyway.
• Sephiroth tries the key card on Genesis's door and it doesn't work.
• Huh? That's odd. Perhaps it's outdated. No worries! He'll just pry the door open with his sword!
• Sephiroth grabs Masamune with one hand and clutches the Genesis body pillow with the other. Then he casually starts beating the door down with the grace and finesse of an axe murderer.
Tumblr media
• Genesis steps off the elevator at his apartment's floor. He's disgruntled, as told by the prominent frown on his face. He cannot for the life of him understand why Angeal didn't find Sephiroth's behavior as creepy and unhinged as he did.
• He needs to go home. Maybe after a hot bath and a drink he'll decide what to do next—
• Genesis stops at the end of the hallway.
Tumblr media
• And there's Sephiroth beating Genesis's door down while clutching a Genesis body pillow to his chest.
• Genesis screams. It catches Sephiroth's attention but Genesis is already running back into the elevator: "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU OBSESSED PSYCHO FREAK!"
• Sephiroth watches the elevator doors swing closed, then promptly shrugs and gets back to work.
Tumblr media
• Zack and Cloud are standing in Genesis's room. Cloud has the Sephiroth body pillow they're supposed to plant in Genesis's room clutched in his arms
Zack: Uuuh...Spike?
Cloud: Yeah?
Zack: Are you sure we're in the right place?
• There is already a Sephiroth body pillow on Genesis's bed. And an Angeal body pillow. And a Zack body pillow. And a Cloud body pillow next to a Genesis one. All of them piled on Genesis's bed.
• Zack and Cloud turn around immediately.
Cloud: We never speak of this again.
Zack: Works for me.

Be Worried for Mitsuba
I've seen a frankly concerning number of people say they expect Mitsuba to be fine after what happened in Chapter 110, and as someone who isn't fully confident he will survive yet, it bothers me a bit! As such, I wanted to bring up a list of reasons why I think Mitsuba could be in danger, and why people might be in for a rude awakening depending on how things shape out.
First, I wanted to bring up something that I don't think a lot of people know about. It's the official tag line for Volume 20.
Tumblr media
This is from the Square-Enix website. It says: 「最初でさいごの夜遊び。」
This translates as "Their first and last Night Out."
I don't know about you guys, but this gets my warning bells ringing. It's obviously talking about Kou and Mitsuba's date at the aquarium. So if that was their first and also last one, then...that doesn't sound very reassuring, does it?
Now, a popular theory I've seen going around is that Mitsuba will turn Kou into his yorishiro. And while I think this is a delightful idea, I don't think it will happen.
While yorishiro can take human form, the two cases we've seen (Sumire and Tsukasa) were dead by the time it happened. We don't know if it's possible for it to happen to someone who is still alive!
I also want to direct your attention to the first Clock Keepers arc, when Kou got aged up to around Teru's age.
Tumblr media
If you remember, Nene, unlike Kou, was unable to be aged up by Mirai because she had no lifespan left. This basically confirms that Kou will survive until he's in high school, less his fate is changed.
Note that he has no visible yorishiro seal, too.
Now...it's not like he still can't become one! But how likely is it, really? Do we even know if a yorishiro can age? And do we know if someone can stop being a yorishiro? We haven't found a way to get rid of a yorishiro outside of destroying it yet. Tell me, how cheap would it be for Kou to become Mitsuba's yorishiro while facing zero of the consequences?
Honestly, I feel the whole concept of a yorishiro cop-out is a bit cheap, anyway...not that I want Mitsuba to die, but it feels cheesy for him to overcome this by just realizing how important Kou is to him, doesn't it? Couldn't we have done that in the Aquarium arc instead of having this pointless, drawn-out segue?
It seems that for all Mitsuba has done, it just hasn't been enough, tragic as it is. I do believe Mitsuba has found something important to him, or is at least starting to...but it's all too little, too late.
Anyway, has anyone thought about a way for Mitsuba to get out of this situation besides getting a yorishiro? It's worth mentioning that Natsuhiko implied only a school mystery with a yorishiro could survive contact with his cursed blood, but I can't help wondering if there's another option.
Mitsuba's body has a unique constitution, after all. He's a Frankenstein amalgamation of several different weak supernaturals given an identity by the sense of reason taken from the previous Mitsuba.
Tumblr media
He falls apart if he doesn't eat. When this happens, he can restore himself by eating supernaturals. He also craves human flesh, which also might be able to heal him, but that obviously hasn't been tested yet.
So here's my question: Could Mitsuba eat enough supernaturals or humans to cure his body of the cursed blood? Would he...try to? It's not like there aren't plenty around him right now...
Tumblr media
And then what happens? Even if he only ate the plantlike supernaturals, those were humans. They could've been saved, as proven by when Teru defeated one and restored her back to her human form in Chapter 104. If he hurt any of them, then what would that mean for Mitsuba? And how would Kou react? Just something to think about...
Changing subjects, I think the fact that the original Mitsuba Sousuke's mother is present is interesting, too. I feel like she's incredibly important to the events happening to Mitsuba right now--she's here for a reason, that's for sure. Whether that's anything that'll change his fate or not is another thing.
Tumblr media
And just to be clear, while his concern for the previous Mitsuba Sousuke's mother is pretty cute, I don't think it's enough to create a yorishiro out of. Heck, even if he was the first Mitsuba, I don't think his bond with his mother was strong enough to manifest as a yorishiro. (No shade, of course.)
I did point out in my Chapter 110 Spoilers post that she could just be here to watch her son die again, which is an idea I still kind of like. It's a bit poetic, no? Or maybe she will somehow be able to meet him one last time and get closure. I can't say for sure, but I feel like ignoring Mitsuba's mom in this discussion at all is a dangerous pitfall...
In any case, I hope this convinced some of you to start worrying for Mitsuba's life.
Huh? Which Mitsuba, you ask?
Who knows...

An alternate take on "The Princess and the Frog" (2009)
Tumblr media
Given that I've remade several Revival-Era films by now, it was only a matter of time that I remade the film that started it all (unless you're one of those fans who considers "Bolt" the start of the Revival Era). I wasn't the biggest fan of this film for musical and story reasons, so I hope you aren't too offended by my changes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The film features more fantasy elements--I recall controversy about how voodoo was portrayed as magic rather than a religion, and to alleviate that, I think we should confirm that it's magic we're dealing with rather than a specific counterpart to a real-world concept. I'd definitely take inspiration from Alphonse Mucha imagery for the visual (though the art I imagined was inspired by his late 19th century work more than his early 20th century work). I do like the idea that magic is regarded as mystical and dangerous, explaining why Tiana steers away from it while Naveen is enamored by it.
Tumblr media
2. Naveen's background and culture is more clearly defined--It was CONFIRMED when the film was released that Naveen's race is fictional since Maldonia is a fictional place, however many fans view him as being Indian. I noted in another post that they could've easily made him the prince of an Indian-inspired country (or a fictional Indian state) and educated in Europe, explaining the westernized fashion and interests--even though westernization was common in general around that time. Of course, if we go the "fictional location" route with the setting for the film rather than New Orleans, this isn't as much of an issue--but it'd still be a nice touch if it was an explicitly Indian-inspired fantastical kingdom, perhaps taking inspiration from Indian fantasy films.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Play the duality plotline--Naveen is cursed to be a frog during the night, and a human during the day, albeit forgetful of this. A big criticism people had was that the two leads of color were frogs for most of the film. What if this wasn't the case? Naveen appears to Tiana both as a vain frog and a hedonistic young man. Due to Dr. Facilier's curse, Naveen is unable to remember his froggy curse by day, and thus cannot go about solving it, and the night is filled with shadow monsters who hope to stop him from breaking the spell, with Lawrence and Dr. Facilier manipulating him during the day to make him marry Charlotte. Tiana takes pity on his frog form (not knowing that he's the prince), and unlocks his kindness and selflessness, and as time goes on, human Naveen becomes kinder, and finds himself thinking about Tiana until they share a kiss at Mardi Gras, where he marries her instead of marrying Lottie, like the villains planned. When Facilier tries to get revenge on Naveen, Tiana battles him and breaks his talisman in a similar fashion to the original. (I feel like there's some inspiration you can take from "Howl's Moving Castle" with the plot.) Also when the kiss on Naveen fails to work the first time, Tiana gains the power to speak to animals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Give Lawrence and Dr. Facilier more backstory--It's mentioned that Lawrence has been taken advantage of all his life, and it'd be more powerful to see his villain arc if we knew how much pain he went through rather than simply seeing him as greedy and selfish from the start. Plus Facilier's magic is QUITE interesting, and something I'd love to know more about. Perhaps tying into the racial subplot, he had a life similar to Tiana and her family, only he couldn't achieve his dream and turned to the shadows. Some may consider this a sympathetic villain story, but I do think that Facilier's backstory in the original would've included some racial themes as well.
Tumblr media
5. Make Ralphie older and give him more relevance--I do like the idea that Ralphie is close in age to Naveen (with Ralphie still being the younger brother), and they have a relationship similar to Dreamworks characters, ie Moses/Ramses, Sinbad/Proteus, and Miguel/Tulio. I also like the idea that while Naveen is selfish but somewhat innocent of the world, Ralphie is selfless but easily stressed and flustered. I picture him being a mix of Aladdin and Hercules. I love the idea that he came to keep tabs on Naveen, and both he and Naveen pursue Charlotte, though Ralphie actually develops feelings for her, and she reciprocates. Plus I do wish he had a different name, but that's just me.
Tumblr media
6. Charlotte's friendship with Tiana is a bit more pronounced--Some people think that her selfless act for Tiana at the end of the movie was too little, too late, as they found her annoying and spoiled. I'd enjoy more moments where we get to see their friendship, ie after Lottie gives Tiana a makeover, she asks her what happened at the party (which Tiana apparently never told her about since Lottie mentions how they're both getting their wishes granted that night).
Tumblr media
7. Embrace the green--I do want Tiana to enjoy wearing green without it being associated with her being a frog. The concept art has really great designs, and it could correlate to her growing to love Naveen--plus it'd make her a good contrast to Lottie, especially if it was Eudora making these dresses.
Tumblr media
8. Alter the soundtrack and side characters slightly--Take "Never Knew I Needed" and make it an actual song for Tiana to sing! I'd also take Luis and make him a human (his story did feel like a racial allegory) while Ray would stay a firefly for his "Evangeline" story. Plus this could also make "When We're Human" a solo for Naveen. And maaaaybe make the "Down in New Orleans" a song for Tiana or an ensemble number. And a part of me wants Lottie to have a song (maybe with Ralphie).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. Remove Mama Odie and give Eudora more credit--I say this since Mama Odie didn't really do much to move the plot along (her advice of kissing a princess didn't really matter since Naveen and Tiana get married anyway), and she gave Tiana a good amount of insight that she wasn't able to appreciate until later. Allowing her mother to be a bigger part of her story is BIG for a Disney princess, especially if Tiana is staying human and staying in town.
Lemme know what you think! I hope you enjoyed this reimagining.

🌟OPEN DISCUSSION about the 2020's era of shipping culture, Sonadow in the Sonic Fandom, and how well-intended activism can circle back to the language and violence of oppressors 🌟 (Broken down into PARTS for the sake of readability and my own attention span lol. >>>FULL ESSAY HERE<<<) (>>>PREVIOUS PART HERE<<<)
PART 6
ADDITIONAL: MY PERSONAL OPINIONS AND LOGIC ABOUT SHADOW'S AGE
Most of the fandom will continue arguing about Shadow's "true age" for the rest of time and how that "should" influence people's shipping headcanons. In my opinion, it is a very unnecessary thing to argue about simply because of the uniqueness and the fantastical nature of Shadow's existence within the Sonic Universe. Very specifically, he is a test tube science project super soldier who is immortal with an unclarified "birth date."
It's most likely that Professor Gerald Robotnik started the process of creating Shadow AFTER Maria was born and they discovered her incurable disease; Project Shadow could have taken a significant amount of time to complete considering all of the scientific processes, research, and intergalactic communication needed. It is also important to remember that Maria died when she was only 12 years old. If we are just talking about the amount of time that Shadow was physically and mentally conscious, communicating, and learning (excluding the 50 years he spent in cryo-stasis), this would mean that Shadow's age could be anything up to Maria's exact age at her time of death. Realistically his youngest possible age would be much greater than 1 day, since it probably took a noteworthy amount of time for Shadow and Maria to develop their trusting best friend and/or sibling bond.
Otherwise, in the less likely scenario, Professor Gerald could've had foresight and somehow gotten confirmation about Maria's condition before she was born with the scientifically and medically advanced technology aboard the Space Colony ARK, and then completed Project Shadow before she was born. But in EITHER possible chronology, Shadow could be around the same age or a handful of years younger than 15 (one of the possible ages in this debate), if we are to consider his game manual or Wiki-page biographies for his true age. This could put the Sonadow ship in the same boat of age-gap and maturity-difference criticism that the Sonic x Amy ship gets because Sonic is 15 and Amy is 12.
Even though Shadow is one of the most complex characters within the broad Sonic Lore, at the same time he's one of the most mysterious characters, especially since we don't have any official content that shows the complete scientific/medical/technological details of his creation process from start to finish. Everyone has a different opinion whether the game manual and Wiki-page age(s) indicates Shadow's number of conscious years lived, his current physical age, or both. People also debate whether his current physical age matters in terms of shipping ethics. Considering that Shadow is an immortal science experiment with the DNA/blood of an alien species and he could have grown up in a test tube, I like to think that any of the "teen" ages used in this debate could simply describe what his physical vessel looks like (compared to 100% Mobian hedgehogs) at the point Project Shadow was deemed successfully completed. It's possible that his early development deviated from that of a human baby, a Mobian hedgehog baby, and a normal hedgehog baby. Maybe he grew generally faster or went through the same developmental stages of his Black Arms alien siblings. Deciphering what it would mean for Shadow to become "fully mature", or even what "age" in general means for him, would require solving the complex puzzle of his circumstances: the science of genetic engineering that splices Black Arms DNA with Mobian hedgehog DNA to design a being that is artificial and specifically exceptional in every way. We DO know that Shadow's Black Arms DNA gives his mind and body a connection to the species' Hive Mind (which is explored in the Archie comic books) and that Black Doom's DNA was one of the necessary ingredients to give Shadow immortality and disease immunity. But that's the extent of what we know about Shadow's Black Arms biology, its overall effects, its benefits, and its downsides. In addition to this, the "immortal artificial super soldier with alien DNA" context brings up questions regarding Shadow's mental processes, intelligence, and learning capabilities. He could have gone through rapid psychological development, or can learn and gain skills at an enhanced rate, have increased intelligence, or have alien mental capacities beyond his connection to the Black Arms' Hive Mind.
The limitless SCOPE of possibilities for Shadow's physical and mental reality is why I completely avoid any attempts at shoving this complex character into the same quantifiable boxes of human OR Mobian OR normal hedgehog maturity, development, intelligence, socialization, emotions, learning, and age. Which is why I do not judge people for their shipping preferences and don't assume the worst of the people that ship him with other characters. An integral part of the tragedy and isolation of Shadow the Hedgehog as a character surrounds him being the Ultimate Lifeform, a being that is so unique, advanced, artificial, medicalized, scientific, revolutionary, mystical and powerful that he cannot relate to most of the other Sonic characters and vice versa. TRYING to force Shadow to be 100% understandable, relatable, and quantifiable both by our real-life human standards and by the standards of the other Sonic characters can diminish his uniqueness and essence, and it hinders the broad Sonic Fandom from creatively exploring the magnitude of possibilities (both shipping and non-shipping) that his mysteriousness inspires.
(Thank you for reading and sticking with my train of thought! :) I expect constructive conversation in the comments if any are made at all, whether it's criticism or agreement.)

I cant believe your 'dad shut up about joey drew' meme is literally wilson's canon motivation
LMAO I ABSOLUTELY CAN
Also I think my theory about Wilson being aged by the Ink Realm ended up pretty adjacent to canon/word of god? (Their reasoning was that the trips back and forth took a toll on him, which is also fun). SO THATS NEAT. I joined this fandom so late that getting actual canon confirmations of things now is quite stressful LMAO.
Anyway at this point my most strongly held unprovable headcanon about BatDR lore might be that Nathan was cheating on his wife with Joey, and Wilson knew, but Tessa never did. It lets Wilson be a little older (as old as 53 vs max of 46) if Nathan had a child prior to reuniting with Joey in the Sparkle Unicorn Speakeasy That’s Probably Definitely A Little Bit Gay, and it fits with Wilson’s frustration seeming so petty and blatantly incorrect, if there’s an additional insult in his father’s admiration of Joey that Wilson can’t say without outing his father.
We poke a lot of fun at Wilson (a wholesome activity that’s fun for the whole family) but like… [glances at Sammy Lawrence… glances at TLO…] it just makes a lot of sense that his weird, nonsensical obsession with taking over the Ink Realm might have come from interacting with the machine and the ink. He says the Machine speaks to him, and it just sounds like Wilson got Sammy’d by the Ink too, he just assumed it was the Machine speaking to him instead of the Demon (and if the Sammy in the cycle is the same guy, which the archive implies, then we have potential evidence in BatDR that Sammy’s also wrong; the Demon has a voice, and Sammy doesn’t seem to hear it). And then he gets fixated on taking over the Ink Realm, something that, really doesn’t seem to, fufill any reasonable goal? How… will this win his father’s attention or admiration exactly? He comes up with a bunch of conflicting reasons why this is a good idea, but none of them make much sense, and each trip back to the place he now calls “home” wrecks his human body more and more, and it just seems like MAYBE he’s being influenced to do something that is not in his best interests.
Maybe Wilson was very different before the Machine.
Anyway, the Archive stuff about Wilson is super interesting. He’s always struck me as a character who seemed like he'd had his role altered at the last minute, AND NOW ITS CONFIRMED: HE DID!! And honestly this has made me feel somewhat calmer about him as a character, lmao. Like, all the places I can point out that seem like super weird choices aren't really choices at all; they're backups. He doesn't fit because he was designed as part of an entirely different puzzle. I'm super curious what the more complicated story with two villains could've looked like, and maybe it would've ended up with characters that made more sense, but honestly, focusing on what they could feasibly finish and polish seems like a really wise choice for something that is a game first, story second, and now that all the baffling choices surrounding Wilson make sense on a meta-level, I feel like the part of my brain going WHY THIS IS SO DUMB can finally rest lmao.

Poppy playtime Chapter 3 spoilers, thoughts on the dead child radio on Elliot Ludwig
I'm not really that good on making theories but since I don't see anyone talk about this much I'll try my best.
My thoughts on the radio, in Chapter 3 we hear about a dead child in Elliot Ludwig's estate. The child had organs and major bones missing, an age isn't stated (though the image by the radio could be assume to be the child, which looks to be a baby. If this isn't the child then I have no clue why the image is there though), the identity of the child isn't confirmed, the child was in a duffle bag on the upstairs bedroom. The radio said that it's unknown if the extraction of the organs are the reason why the child died.
Why would the child be there? I've come up with multiple reasons.
Reason 1: Elliot Ludwig was framed by the Poppy Playtime company.
I don't know why the Poppy Playtime company would do that since Elliot's dead, but they could've done it before Elliot died and the body just wasn't yet discovered. The reason why the company would like to frame Elliot was to have him be in prison so they could do the experiments, which he probably would keep them from doing. If Elliot is dead I have no clue why they would frame him.
Reason 2: Elliot killed the child.
Maybe Elliot killed the child and used him for experiments, like putting him in a doll like Poppy (Poppy is just an example, I doubt the child is in Poppy considering that who ever is in Poppy is probably a girl.) Presumably the child's bones and organs were taken out to put into a toy. Elliot was stated to be a family man, but this could not be 100% true, Elliot may not be as good of a guy as we all thought he was. Or he could've found a dead child and try to revive it for what ever reason, maybe a family friend?
Reason 3: Someone else other then the Poppy Playtime company framed Elliot.
If this is the case we'll probably learn more about it in chapter 4, so it's too soon to really say much about it.
Now, why the child's organs and bones are missing.
I think it's probably so the child could be surgically put in a doll's body, we know dolls have human organs in them.
Rather or not the child died due to this depends if the surgery was a success. If it wasn't, the child's dead. If it was, the child's a living doll now.
I do wonder if we'll learn more about this child, I know the child's not the prototype, the prototype is way to smart. If the child comes back we'll probably learn about who the child is, why it's there, and which doll the child became if they became a doll.
Hope I didn't get something wrong. That's all, bye

Some DS1 girls thoughts
So I asked @val-of-the-north where Dark Souls 1 yuri, or just ANY relationship between female characters, was at (for a second time gfgfjf) and here is what we figured:
* Elizabeth and Alvina actually would make such cute silly old ladies couple? Especially since they more or less share a daughter figure (Dusk). It is FUUUNNNYYY tho how they're both not humans!! Feral yuri!
* I came up with the idea that since both Reah and Sieglinde are captured because of Seath's people, what if Darkmoon Knightess was the one to rescue both! Or Sieglinde could have rescued Reah since she is around those parts! But Darkmoon Knightess will lecture them anyways hfgghfh
Darkmoon Knightess: I told to not snoop around where Seath's people are hunting!
Sieglinde: You mean literally EVERYWHERE? 😭
Ggfgyfyg but also imagine if Reah and Sieglinde formed a significant bond! They could even have adventures together all along! Sieglinde is probably still a competent fighter except for exactly one fiasco since she got to Lordran on her own, and Reah is a healer XD Besides Sieglinde would sure do better work protecting her than SOMEONE :/
She also could take Reah to her home at the end now that Reah doesn't have place to return to anyways!
* Darkmoon Knightess is quite bound by duty for the time being and has her own struggles with slipping Humanity, but she works well like third wheel a cool friend to always return to! She and Sieglinde can still instantly clock Petrus from exactly 1 sentence about him from Reah and kick him to half death in the alleyway tho hfhfhhcn
* I took closer look at Anastasia as I still needed to figure her out, and came up with the idea that the worst thing a Firekeeper logically could've done, deserving self-mutilating, self-loathing and self-isolating had to do with envisioning Age of Dark! Think of it: Firekeepers didn't have their eyes removed until DS3, but removing her tongue would still imply speaking of "dangerous" things. And considering the implication she either isolated self or fully agreed with this as punishment, maybe there were tangible consequences to what she was speaking of!!
I grasped to this line of thinking but was not quite sure what could the "consequences" be, and Val suggested maybe she accidentally gave Kaathe his ideas by simply sharing her vision and concerns. Since apparently Primordial Serpents are Just Vibing and only care about anything by personal choice (like how Frampt just was a good friend to Gwyn). So.... she'd feel guilty for Oolacile and New Londo. It wasn't her fault, but she FEELS this way, and honestly, most people would probably agree.... т.т +We agreed that back then Firekeepers envisioning Dark was an exception rather than the rule, probably because the cycles haven't worn down this badly yet.
* That puts a massive roadblock in the way of Anastasia finding any love ever, she is stuck in endless guilt and self-hatred, and many would agree she got what she deserved. I am just giggling at how sometimes I try to think of a ship and end up developing the character lol
* Like I said before, Pharis and Beatrice have potential for both doomed yuri or sad found family that fell apart! (Yeah Pharis is female not just in NPC model apparently, as confirmed by surprise throwback in DS2, didn't have pronouns in Japanese but English always defaults to 'he' in this case *looks at accidental he/she Lady Maria*) The latter idea is good on the account of using Beatrice's cut child version (damn I wonder what WERE Fromsoft planning for her....)! And also could explain why she was so reckless with the Abyss stuff; whereas she is herself connected with Oolacile magic rather than how sorcery is now, if she was just a kid she'd be clueless about the horrors, and not listen to her "mom"'s warnings in classic fashion!
OR they could have been two "moms", because imagine if Pharis and Dusk dated! So not much was salvaged, but Beatrice was.. Dusk died earlier than Pharis (just assuming Pharis is an Undead if she is still alive though she knew Gwyn's Knights). Maybe after that, Beatrice started to really slip away from any attempts to protect her as Pharis was bad at it on her own.... so she'd lose both wife and daughter figure in short timespan....... guys.....,? *sobs*
* Another cute idea is sort of rebound ships with Ciaran who had her heart broken having lost Artorias to the Abyss! Either Pharis or Dusk work within the timeline and context! Dusk one is of course less tragic since they likely died around the same time. Pharis though is screwed no matter what.. 🙄 truly a Soulsborne character lol
Ciaran does give me an impression of someone that would be too struck to move on, just some 'happier' thoughts
* There are also less apparent characters, like iirc Carmina and Yulva were around the same time? For the context; Carmina was an apprentice of Salaman who was an apprentice of Queelana, Yulva was one of the three people that sealed the Four Kings but she left to become a healer (likely too much guilt for people in New Londo that had to get sacrificed). Both are 99% long dead by the time Chosen Undead steps in, but clues for both are found in the same game area.. who knows
* Also it is apparently a popular interpretation that Velka adopted Priscilla, I absolutely believe this
* I am probably not finished but basically having many thoughts and HATE it because instead of multishipping like a normal person I have mentality of "choosing"....... when I am incapable of choosing 🙄 I am yet again asking for Val to tell me what to think lol

Steven Universe Future: Pink State Analysis (Mr. Universe)
Tumblr media
The next time we see Steven in his pink state is during an argument with Greg while driving the van.
After listening to the titular song, "Mr. Universe," Steven asks if this is Greg gets the name "Universe" from, to which Greg confirms. Upon learning this, the tone in Steven's voice seems to imply that he is both shocked and disappointed to now their surname wasn't from anything special (in his mind). Greg, on the other hand, begins to explain how the song inspired him to leave home. Greg then asks where "Mr. Universe" makes him want to go, and when Steven doesn't know how to respond to the question, Greg tries to play the song again.
Tumblr media
However, Steven, starting to get noticeably agitated, tells him that he needs what Greg had as a child.
Now, when talking about the subject of Greg's parents, it's hard to take either's word for it on what they might've been like due to Steven and Greg's flaws. Steven, despite being well-intentioned, has a habit of jumping to conclusions with little to no context (which is seen back in Little Graduation when he thinks Lars and Sadie have not resolved their relationship issues, only to find out that they did without him) and is mainly focusing on the life that he thinks he would've wanted to actually think about Greg's past. Greg, despite trying to be supportive father, has been shown (especially in Greg The Babysitter, with this even being the lesson of that episode) to act rather immature for someone his age and is also somewhat imposing his desires onto Steven.
Steven goes onto say how he wished he could've grown up in a house like that, to which Greg takes as Steven wishing he were stifled, instead of someone who was told what to do. Steven also argues that Greg's parents gave him the things that they did for a reason, which could only be partially true. Greg counters this by saying how Steven doesn't know what they may have been like.
Tumblr media
Steven counters this by saying how they couldn't have been worse than the Diamonds, who he went halfway across the galaxy to visit, before venting about how Greg's parents were a shorter distance to go to. Greg says how he was unable to do anything since his parents disapproved of everything he did, before mentioning how Steven's "better off" than he was.
Steven then says how Greg is "just like [Rose]," turning pink as he says this. What Steven means by this is that, like Rose, Greg ran from his family, thinking about what he wanted without considering the consequences. It also means that just like with Rose, Steven doesn't want to be anything like Greg.
However, he's more right than he thinks when he says this as both Greg and Rose grew up having standards imposed on them, before changing their identities, and moved to Beach City free to do whatever they wanted without any restrictions, however, Steven can only see the negatives in that comparison, which is also why he turns pink when saying this. Something else to note about the pink state is that Steven only enters it when he is unable to see a different perspective on any given situation.
Tumblr media
Greg tells Steven that he grew up with the freedom he never had. However, Steven yells at Greg how he grew up in a van, how he's never been to school, or to the doctor until two days ago. What he means by saying this is by not recieving things that would be essential needs to others humans, he is unable to relate to them properly.
Tumblr media
Gregs argues how Steven's not like other children since he's a gem (which could unintentionally have made things worse), to which Steven says that his problems isn't that he's a gem but how he's a "Universe". What he means by this is how Greg is imposing his ideal lifestyle onto him, or at least Steven percieves Greg as doing so intentionally instead of subconciously.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, as soon as he says this, he tears the steering wheel off the dashboard of the van. Steven, now unable to steer the van, slams on the brakes to avoid hitting an oncoming car, to which makes the van skid sideways and eventually overturn, crashing it.
Tumblr media
Upon waking up, Steven is comforted by Greg, who attempts to relate Steven's outburst at him to never being able to speak his mind to his own father. By doing this, Greg assumes he would cheer Steven up and how it would give them something to bond over.
Tumblr media
However, Steven, interpretting this as more of Greg projecting his own desires on him and refusing to take his issues seriously, takes one last look at the photo he took of Greg while in his childhood home, before deleting it from his phone.
Tumblr media
A final note is that while Steven assumes if he were given a life of rules and restrictions like Greg, he would know what to do with himself. However going too far in that extreme would've only caused him more strife. With Greg, one of the mistakes he made while raising Steven is that in trying so much to not be like his parents (much like Steven is now) and Steven the support he never had, he not only failed to realize that Steven needed a balance between control and freedom instead of just one of those things, but also how he didn’t give Steven the option to get his own perspective on the things Greg found uncomfortable, and is also incorrectly assuming (much like Steven) that the things he wanted/needed are the same things that would help his son.

Watched the fifth episode of LEGO DreamZzz: LOVED IT!
HALFWAY THERE BABY!!!!
I don't know how this season ends so I don't know if it's open to future seasons, but I'm having a blast honestly! It's such a cute adventure and I love the characters a lot! 😍
I wonder if we'll get some sort of reveal at some point, between Ninjago, Nexo Knights and even Chima that was always kinda present
Well we'll see! ONTO THE EPISODE!!!
PEAK PERFORMANCE
Heeeeeyyy some real world shenanigans! I was wondering how their interactions in the Dream World were gonna be while still in school, without all the mayhem 😂
Coop really is a cool guy, but after seeing his fears I worry about how stressed he is by everything
Logan just gives me huge Kai vibes and that's besides Vincent, just look at him 🤣
Owww, I feel like Mat is not good at this
LOOK AT Z-BLOB WITH THE LITTLE FLAG CHEERING FOR HIS BUDDY IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO Z I WILL KILL EVERYONE IN THIS ROOM AND THEN MYSELF!!! 💚💚💚
Yep, poor Mateo is good at lots of stuff but sports isn't one of them
I feel that pain, failing PE 😅
DANG IT LOGAN PLEASE DO SOMETHING NICE FOR ONCE I REALLY WANNA LIKE YOU BUT I CAN'T IF YOU KEEP BEING A JERK LIKE THAT AAAAAA-
Omg Mat got a grumpy pillow, have I mention that he's my son and I love everything about him?
SQUISHED Z BLOB 😂😂
Heeeeyyyyyyy I was waiting for the dream avatars! Finally 😍
IZZIE LOOKS AMAZING!!!! 💗💖💓💖💗💓 Between her design and Zoey's I'm having a hard time deciding my favourite
Pffff blue Logan 😂
Obviously Mateo's also really cool, gives me Lord of the Rings vibes (which is fair since he mentioned the book before), and I love the green eye and the green streak of hair where is was blondish before 💚
I'd love to see Mateo fanarts as human and not LEGO, but I will not risk looking up for it and accidentally seeing spoilers!!... like I usually do 😅😅
I don't remember Cooper's avatar being that different, maybe I'm wrong
Also interesting how he seems to be into following instructions, I think he's the most tame of the team so far. Mat got the strategies down, but Coop seems very rational as well
Izzie is short for Isabel?... I feel like I could've realized that... LOVE NICKS 😍😍
Towards the Sandman then? I'm very curious to see how they look like, so far the designs in this show are always really good. Even the forge master, being a simple kid, had something interesting about it
Why do I feel like Logan will do something very stupid
WHY DO I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE WILL DO SOMETHING VERY STUPID
Of course Izzie would make a giant rabbit and I have nothing but respect for her for doing it 😂💙🩷
Cooper seems to be very tame with his creations, just like it was said before. Not enough creativity. I feel like he will have to learn how to think outside the box
*Mateo casually flying with a modified Z-Blob mecha copter* YEP THAT'S HOW YOU THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX 💚💚💚
To be honest everyone is very young so I can't even blame them too much for making mistakes. Like, if there's an age to fail, it gotta be middle school
Does Logan have problem with authority or listening to people? With Mateo, with prof Oz, I feel like he really struggles with that. And I don't wanna trace this back to Vincent's other roles, but given how Kai didn't have his parents for a long time and Jestro was a straight up orphan, I wonder if his household situation is okay...
Look at me hyperanalysing something that is not explicit lol
So it is confirmed that Lunia was defeated while she sealed the Nightmare King? I wonder if we might see flashbacks or images of her at some point
YETIIIIIIII
OH WOW HE'S FABULOUS NOW!!! I know this came out before pride month but, like, this is pretty neat 😂🏳️‍🌈 Or maybe Jim is just really comfortable with makeup, fabulous either way!
Cooper got his magical girl transformation sequence as well! ❤️
Too bad we didn't see Izzie's 😢
Yeah he doesn't look super different, but considering he is passionate about cars the pilot look suits him a lot! I'm getting more and more intrigued by Coop, I think I understimated his character before
Aaaaaand Logan did a whoopsie again. He really needs to adjust himself some, and yes the others followed him suit so everyone got their fault but MAYBE DON'T USE THE THING THEY SPECIFICALLY TOLD YOU NOT TO USE?? 😵‍💫
I swear I wanna like you Logan but you gotta give me something to work with 😅 And you gotta learn the sorry, mah man
MAH BOY MATEO IS THE PLAN GUY LOOK AT HIM THAT'S MY SON HE'S SO SMART HE'S THE LEADER AND DOESN'T REALIZE HOW GOOD HE IS I LOVE HIM 💚💚💚
Izzie did not just say yeeted 😂😂
NUUUUUU NOT JIM 😱😱😱😱😱 DUDE STOP GIVING IZZIE MORE GRIEF SHE'S ALREADY NOT OVER SHARKYJAW 😭
Awww Mateo taking the blame 💕 To be fair they're all kind of at fault but yeah, the main issue was definitely Lunia's hourglass so good job sweetie!
Omg
OMG
FINALLY LOGAN FINALLY YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING NICE 🥳🥳🥳 I BELIEVED IN YOU FROM WHEN YOU VISITED COOPER AND THEN YOU BROUGHT SOUP FOR MATEO, I KNEW YOU COULD PULL SOMETHING OFF AGAIN!!!! 🤩
... it's, like, and EXTREMELY small step but one step forward regardless 😂
Cooper checking on Izzie was so sweet!... is this ship material? I focused on Mateo only so far so I don't know... I'll keep this as a maybe, we'll see what happens! 💕
I KEEP LOVING THESE EPISODES I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY HIT ALL THE RIGHT SPOTS FOR ME 💜💜💜

Suddenly had a thought but like ,the implications of Celestia (or at least I'm assuming it's Celestia) giving Albedo a vision?
Albedo isn't a natural creature of teyvat, he's a manmade homunculus, but also more to consider is the possibility of his mother/creator being a descender, what does that mean?is Celestia keeping an eye on him?
This could also apply to Wanderer to a certain extent but Ei is assumedly not a descender.
Also another thing I thought of was why Alice adopted Albedo, aside from the possibility that he interested her because of what he is,and the idea that she could've known gold at some point,I think it could also be because of Klee.
Klee is blessed with a long life , she's a kid but she has a lot of time ahead of her(supposedly), Albedo could potentially be functionally immortal, maybe he doesn't age past the shape gold created him in, or whatever,so by adopting him after gold left him,not only is she giving him a place to call home and a sister to love , she's also giving Klee a person who can continue to exist with her for more than the average human, even if she ends up outliving some of her loved ones,at least she'll have Albedo and Alice.
well there's a couple of things to take into account concerning gold
1. the idea of descenders comes from the fatui, so it could reasonably be unreliable
2. alice is basically (emphasis bc it could have another reason, although it would make sense) confirmed as a descender thanks to wanderer's collected miscellany. dainsleif couldn't do it as his memories got wiped, but she retained them along with the traveler (and nahida restored hers, but she was affected)
gold being a descender is a possibility, but i wouldn't be surprised if she weren't. we just know so little about her for now UGH
anyway. as for the vision, it's unclear whether celestia can actually keep track of the allogenes and, if they can, to which extent. kaeya also has a vision despite being khaenri'an, and im actually inclined to say that celestia's involvement in granting visions is... negligeable. so far we know, via ei, that archons aren't involved, but instead the allogenes' desire and "another side".
we also know that visions are called "eyes of god", but rather than celestia i think that refers to the archons (or, well, the element they represent). unlike the gnoses, tampering with a vision visibly doesn't trigger the wrath of the heavenly principles - otherwise, ei's vision hunt decree would have led to inazuma being destroyed. so i don't know how tied/relevant to the heavenly principles visions are, but i wouldn't say very much. then again, the dottore did tamper with a gnosis; tho i wonder if that counts, considering the holder was still the one intended by the archon herself? it's unclear, really
as for wanderer, like you said, ei isn't a descender by any means so it probably doesn't count

Earth Nine Oneshot
Posted from my quotev
2,408 Words
I arrive at basic training for the Marines. The day I get there is 4/6/3/1993 Fresh out of Hogwarts, I'm 18 years old and was scouted out by a few government agents due to some experiments that were performed on me when I was young. They sent a fellow military trainee named Billy Russo to keep an eye on me and make sure that I took the offer they gave.
I step out of the vehicle that I was transported here in from the airport. Russo is following close behind as we walk to the barracks on base.
"Did you actually know who you were looking for, Russo? Or did you just guess at it?"I ask as we walk.
"I knew. They gave me a full profile because they wanted to be sure that they really got you and that you weren't hiding out or faking. Did they run tests yet?"
"No. Just the longest interview I've ever had to do and the most personal one."
"Hopefully you're used to being poked and prodded then because you'll be dealing with quite a lot of that tonight."
"Why be honest with me though? You're probably safer if you don't. You could've just told me it was some chance meeting. Acted like you didn't know who I was or something."
"Yeah, that sounded awful. You've had enough issues as is you don't need more of them. I read all the things they found out about you. Your mom dying when you were hardly two months old, being left on the street as an infant, being kidnapped and genetically engineered until age ten, being adopted and taken in by wizards. Must've turned your whole world around."
"Oh it did. How'd you know I was kidnapped though?"
"Because apparently our boss knows a lot about the guy who did it though they haven't been able to catch him yet. Apparently he's known for genetically fucking people over."
"Wow. So he's been stalking me. Great selling point."
"You have abilities that others don't and the people we work for now think it could help with whatever they're trying to do. So they just want to make sure you're who they think you are. And that you can actually do what they're hoping for. Hopefully it just means some quick tests and extensive training. I don't want anything further that could endanger you."
"I'm sure you're getting tired of my questioning you but, why did that come off as 'in danger' to you?"
"I guarantee you can handle yourself. I met your mom. But I just don't want anyone else doing worse to you than has already been done. You've had one hell of a life. I just don't want to make it any harder if it can be avoided is all."
"Sounds like you've had a shit life too."
"Yeah, but I'm not explaining that."
"Fair. Probably smart too."
"They only do background checks on those with such... unique problems. Mine probably are nothing of interest to anyone but me."
"Unique? Sounds like I'm not the only one with my issues."
"Oh believe me, you're unique. How many blood tests have you had since you were born?"
"Like a million. Why?"
"Exactly. If you weren't unique, they wouldn't test you like that. They would've known that it worked and moved on. It's not a routine procedure if they have to keep testing it to make sure each and every awful thing they did to you actually worked. It was an experimental thing. They wanted to know what you could take even if you died doing it. Luckily they got their creepy ass order right because you're still alive and you're doing just fine. Apparently fine enough to be a soldier."
"You could not have read all of that."
"We have the results of every test they ever did to confirm things."
"Like what?"
"Like the fact that your original parents were demons that's why your last name is Morningstar. And why you were instructed not to use it because if it ever came up on your ID you'd be cast aside and put in an asylum for the rest of your life whether you could control it or not."
"I knew that part. Sarge explained it to me. What else?"
"Well, you're related to more deities than humans as far as we know. The tests they did weren't extensive enough to find out everyone those experiments effected. You also use magic, but you knew that part. That magic extends much further than just the spells you were taught in school and the kinds of magic that you were told about. You also have superhuman abilities that haven't been explored nearly enough to tell what all of them are. There's a lot of them that we hadn't heard of before your case."
"Wow, you sound like you know more than they wanted you to."
"I saw the blood tests and didn't want to be completely oblivious to what was going on."
"At least you're smart."
We make it to the barracks and are immediately met at the door by the sergeant and doctor that I talked to upon signing my contract for the military.
"You won't be joining the other soldiers just yet."the doctor says.
"May I ask why?"I reply.
"There's still some processing needed before we can determine your starting place."
"What does that entail?"
"It'll all be explained later. Just not here."
"Fine."
"Russo, you're dismissed."Sergeant Orange says.
"I apologize if it's considered disrespect, sir, but he's not going anywhere if I'm not next to him. I was told to overlook everything that happens regarding him and I'll do it. That part isn't optional. I go with or I will drive him back to England myself."Russo replies firmly, crossing his arms over his chest.
"And who assigned this?"
"Schoonover did, sir."
"I suppose I can't undermine that then. But if you're out of line even once or if you're preventing any of us from doing our jobs, you'll be removed and put on patrol for the rest of the week, reports only."
"Understood sir."
Russo and I follow our two superiors to a chopper which takes us to the only normal looking building on the whole base. We go inside to find a decked out hospital room. I look around me, trying to ignore the itching feeling that something's wrong about this that's sitting in the back of my mind.
"The tests we're running are only to confirm and extend our knowledge of what you went through. You'll see the results and the whole process so that you can refuse at any time."the doctor explains.
"I don't know that I will refuse. I remember too much of what happened to just not want to know exactly what they did."
"That's understandable, Mr. Gold."
"What's first?"
The next week is endless hours of repeated tests all testing different things including a ton of workout training. We must've written a novel just about my heritage and abilities by the end of that week.
I get a few days off before I start basic training and in turn so does Russo since he's to be by my side regardless of what's going on at least for now.
Russo and I are just sitting in the barracks talking.
"So when you said 'superhuman abilities', you neglected to mention that you meant almost every one ever mentioned in any superhero ever."I say before taking a sip out of my water bottle.
"Well, in my defense I thought it'd only be a few of them. Maybe some super strength or something. Not so much, everything. I guess when that lunatic saw what you could take as a little kid, he wanted to do everything he could."
I laugh. "Wouldn't you?"
"No. I wouldn't wanna accidentally kill you."
"Awe, already attached, Billy?"I tease him.
"Something like that. I just don't wanna lose my job for hating you enough to do something like that."
"Yeah, because you're so sweet."
"I'm really not. I just happen to give a shit about you."
"Wow. I must be special."
"Oh shut up."
I take another sip of my drink. Schoonover walks in here and sits on the cot beside mine.
"I apologize for not having reached out since our first meeting. I got a bit overwhelmed with work. How'd those tests go?"he asks.
"One, your demeanor changed which means you know what they found."
"Usually that tone would be insubordination."
"Why am I special then?"
"Because firing you could end worse for us than it could for you. Continue though."
"The tests were fine. I'm used to that kind of intensity for things I don't have any control over. I would advise that you find someone more attuned to administering them though because it seems that your military operation lacks the proper equipment to deal with supernatural and superhuman abilities. I understand this is the same military that curated Captain America but it doesn't seem to be far enough."
"I see you know quite a lot then."
"Yes sir."
"Have anyone in mind that you would prefer to work with?"
"No sir. I'm not the type to request that kind of information. I just happened to notice that your doctors seemed out of their element when they saw what I could do."
"And what can you do?"
"What? Expecting a showcase?"
"Only so I know what I'm dealing with on some level."
"Russo you're gonna wanna back up."
Russo gets up from where he's laying on his cot and moves to one a few feet away. I get up from where I'm sitting and take my uniform jacket off. I use magic to create two matching longswords, blades so black they could be considered nonexistent, the handles slightly curved.
"Simple magic."Schoonover says.
"I know. Might as well start slow though."
Russo walks over and takes the blades from me, putting them in one of the crates under his cot before sitting back down on the one he'd moved to before.
"Try something with more of a kick to it."Schoonover says.
"Yes sir."
I use a spell to make a suit instead. It's a spiderman suit with a black chestplate and a dark blue hood with black lining. It already appears on my body when I make it. I shoot a web onto one of the rafters and wing from it, repeating that from one end of the barracks to the other.
"So the superhuman part was right then."Schoonover says.
"Yes sir."Ireply, taking my mask off as I sit back down.
"The tests said you could create living things as well."
"With powers you mean?"
"Yes."
"I haven't tried it but I probably can. I'll need an idea though cause it doesn't just come right off the top of my head."
"Any animal. Mythical just to see if it works."
I use magic to create a baby Gryffin egg. The egg appears in the palms of my hands and when it does, it cracks open and an infant Gryffin sits on the inside of it.
"Is it living? Like could you call it or something?"Schoonover asks.
"If it is, my mom's gonna have to come down here and get it. Or Lupin will I suppose."
"That's fine. We have contracts with them as well."
"Understood."
I slide one finger gently along the Gryffin's beak, waking it up and causing it to snap at me. I curse softly and pull my hand away, gently setting the egg on the cot beside me.
"Yes, it's awake."I say."I'll send an owl for my mom."
"Can you create other weapons than just blades?"
"Yeah."
I use magic once again, making a silver pistol appear in my hand, a magazine full of bullets already loaded in it. I set that aside as well.
"Anything else or did you just need confirmation that the creation spell worked?"I ask.
"Nothing else. I'm sure I'll learn everything else when you begin training."
"Sounds taxing."
He laughs at that and leaves once more. I write a quick letter to my mom Minerva Mcgonnogal and have an owl send it. The Gryffin I spawned climbs out of its egg and sits in my lap. It's maybe an hour later when mom arrives.
When mom gets here she sits beside me on the cot.
"Why would you choose a gryffin? You know they're birds. They form bonds before they're even fully removed from their shell."she asks.
"Because it's the first creature that came to mind. I though about being home and well, it sort of just happened."
"I can't take it with me. You've created a bond by touching it. I understand you're under quite a load of stress at the moment but it's important that you don't forget what you've learned."
"So I have to raise it now?"
"Yes. When you leave the military, it can stay at Hogwarts. But until then you need to take care of it."
"Could you at least send supplies and explain all that to my commander? I mean, I don't fully know what I'm doing. I don't know what to do with companions or pets seeing as I've never had one before."
"I'll still make sure that you're successful in taking care of it. I'm still your parent and your teacher. But you'll also need to learn how to take care of things on your own."
"Yes ma'am."
She leaves to talk to my commander. I pet the Gryffin's head, making it make a vague purring sound at me.

Pumpkin! Thoughts on the First Soldier pt. 1 finale? What did you think? Rosen’s death? Miniroth? The locket? Adult Seph? Glenn?
Thoughts on getting young Angeal and possibly Genesis? 👀
Also Hojo…
(I didn't play the First Soldier 🥲) But I do have thoughts! Wall of text incoming
It was really good to see Sephiroth form a bond with Matt, Glenn and Lucia, since everyone kinda had the idea that Sephiroth didn't have any friends before Gen and Angeal came along. But the trio were his first real friends :') Uncle Glenn was the best older brother figure, and it sucks that they didn't have that much time together.
I like the glimpse we got into Sephiroth's personality/life as a youngster, especially since it confirmed things like him wishing he knew more about his mother with the photograph, his reaction to being called a cyborg hinted at a possible struggle with his humanity from a very early age. Overall he portrayed the lack of experience and awkwardness you'd expect from a teenager who grew up isolated from kids his age, trained to be a weapon. I saw people on Twitter say they woobified him in FS, but he's literally just being a child?? A child who didn't have any experience interacting with the outside world at that.
We got confirmation that Sephiroth was abused by Hojo, and the teaser we have for chapter 2 kinda leads us to believe we're gonna see more about that. It feels like I'm strapped onto a rollercoaster going 200mph in the "Hojo is a creepy abusive bastard" direction and I don't like it.
Another thing I noticed is that Sephiroth's tendency to prioritize the safety of those he cares about over Shinra's orders was evident even from a young age. I'm curious to see how this trait will unfold when Angeal (and hopefully Genesis) roll around.
The thing with Rosen's death: Sephiroth was ultimately cornered into an inescapable situation, but I think what happened in Rhadore could've only ended in Sephiroth's losing his friends or them all dying. Glenn's unwavering determination to save Rosen and leave the island likely would have overridden any attempt to listen/adhere to Rosen's wishes. It's doubtful he would've even considered Rosen's reasoning, which could've ended in disaster.
It's still mind boggling to me that it was Glenn of all people who ended up being responsible for losing the locket again lol. I think we're gonna see it resurface again but this time without Lucrecia's photo. (because that would be mean to Sephiroth) (Square loves torturing Sephiroth 🙃)
Speaking of which, what really stuck out to me about the cutscene with adult Sephiroth is how— despite his involvement in Shinra's war crimes and every vile thing he did for them—he still tried to do good in his own way. AND THE WAy he mentioned Glenn when he was going on about compassion being able to counteract evil, hinting that Glenn planted that seed in his heart....🥲🥲🥲💔💔💔
Sephiroth never aspired to be a hero, he was forced into it, but he had a deep desire to help people, and it makes his pre-Nibelheim personality as a whole so bizarre. (Bizarre in a good way because he was a cinnamon roll stained with the blood of Shinra's enemies). Despite Shinra's (and Hojo bitch ass) attempts to mold him into a weapon, he retained that genuine kindness within him. When he saved the troopers you could see the genuine pride he felt in his actions. But the moment a camera appeared his joy was shattered, I guess because he knew that his act of heroism would be twisted into Shinra propaganda, and he would once again be celebrated not for the good he did, but because it played into this untouchable celebrity image they stuck him with.
I hope we see more Glenn in part 2 (before he dies) (ouch). I wanna see how his, Matt's and Lucia's desertion unfolded and how he ended up joining Wutai's side. Another burning question I have is whether Glenn and Genesis ever crossed paths. Considering Glenn's comment to Sephiroth about "looking for a friend," it seems he knew about Genesis' desertion in Wutai. But I wonder if there was an interaction between them where Glenn shared his own experiences of desertion and possibly even encouraged Genesis to do the same. It's just a theory I have that won't even be touched on BUT I WISH, OKAY? A Glenn + Genesis interaction about Sephiroth is all I ask for lol.
I'm dreading Glenn's death because it's going to be utterly heartbreaking for Sephiroth, especially considering he's already grappling with Genesis' desertion based on the timeline.
Another mini theory I have is that the introduction of Angeal and Genesis could mirror Sephiroth's initial encounter with Glenn, Matt, and Lucia, who eventually deserted. It seems like a parallel storyline, and by the end of chapter 2, we might dive into the Crisis Core storyline that explores Angeal and Genesis's desertions. Idk it's just a theory, since Sephiroth befriending people who later abandon SOLDIER is a pattern 🙃
That coupled with Glenn's death sets up a scenario where Sephiroth loses everyone he cares about in a very short span of time.
Also,
FUCK HOJO
No actually don't fuck Hojo, fucking Hojo and people in white coats is what lead to the entire FF7 storyline.
Thank you for letting me rant lol ❤️
Btw the thing I'm most excited for is Baby Angeal idc. If you couldn't tell already by this blog, I'm a Crisis Whore big fan of Crisis Core :)

No, because I’d only count Lucifer as “old man”. If my knowledge of the timeline is correct, Diavolo might be the third youngest of the entire cast. The only two younger than him being Satan (obviously, as he was born during/after the war) and Luke (whether Luke was born pre-war or post-war is a little wishy-washy thanks to continuity errors in canon, but I think it's still safe to assume the literal child is younger than Diavolo).
As for the others... well, fucking Solomon may very well be older than Diavolo.
Solomon mentions finding out about Barbatos's subservience to Diavolo, right?

Which means, he was not only alive but at a point in his life where he'd had enough power to summon Barbatos- and had done so long enough ago that by now he knew him well. He was most likely an adult, and knowing him and his ridiculous lifespan could've very well been into his hundreds.
Here's the thing, though... Diavolo implies he was in his youth when the whole Barbatos pact thing happened.
Tumblr media
Of course, there's still some ambiguity here, as he doesn't outright confirm he was still a child during that specific incident and we don't know how fast Solomon's weirdly extended human lifespan progressed vs Diavolo's, but the fact that it's very much possible Solomon was an adult when Diavolo was still a child/teen and that we genuinely have to wonder which one of the two was born first is absolutely wild.
What's even more wild is the implications of Solomon actually being chronologically older than Diavolo. This is what would make Diavolo the third youngest of the entire cast.
You see, in one of the pre-war Celestial Realm flashback arcs in OG S3, Lucifer makes a mention of Solomon.
Tumblr media
...now putting aside what I'd normally say about Michael and Solomon having some interesting shit going on, just the fact that this was mentioned at all means Solomon was alive (and had been alive long enough to attract Michael's interest) back when Lucifer was still an angel. And past versions of Lucifer's brothers appeared earlier in this arc as well, so all of the brothers (minus Satan, obviously) were already around by the time Solomon was around. So, all of them are older than Diavolo.
Raphael and Simeon are mentioned offhandedly in this scene, which means they are also older than Diavolo.
Thirteen also mentions in NB S1 that she met Solomon when they were both children, so she is older than Diavolo.
The only one who might actually be younger than him in this case is Mephistopheles, which is a 50/50 chance because it's mentioned they're childhood friends so they're probably only off by a little bit.
We also have to remember that there is an entire dynasty in the Devildom, with Diavolo as its newest installment. Meanwhile, there is no mention of any such dynasty in the Celestial Realm; as far as we know, it's been this set of seraphs running things since the very beginning. Which would mean Lucifer has likely been alive for several generations of Diavolo's family line.
A lot of this is murky, I know I'm dealing in very vague statements here, but it's still highly plausible Diavolo is younger than most of the cast. As much as a being like him seems old to us humans, in the grand scheme of things he’s incredibly young and Lucifer is probably several times his age.
Apologies for this post not having as many receipts as my usual posts, this one kind of pulled from all over the place instead of my usual "territory" in OG S3 so I really had to dig into the recesses of my OM knowledge, but I promise I'm not BSing lol.

flemeth, elves and morrigan
so I love flemeth a lot, I find her super interesting as a character with complex motivations and i kind of feel like she fits the trickster archetype more than solas in some ways, and to me it's v fun to think about how she's essential to dragon age as a whole, since she has such a large role in both the history of thedas and the warden and hawkes fates. I actually started with da2 as it was a gift, and I spent the intro with zero idea about what was going on or whether id be able to get into it, when a dragon turned into a milf with a v nice voice, and I was hooked. probs should've realised I was gay then we love hindsight. that being said, there are a few things that have bothered me since she was revealed to be mythal, which come down to a. flemeth containing the spirit of an elven goddess when she human and b. her treatment of morrigan when she's supposed to be the goddess of motherhood. so I've been having some ideas about what could've been done differently and thought I'd share.
the elves :
to start, make flemeth an elf, or half elven. at first I wasn't sure if this would work considering that we're told she possesses the bodies of her daughters, except it seems like that not actually what she does, considering what she says in dai and the fact that we meet one of her other daughters, yavana, in the silent grove. in terms of flemeth's origin, we don't actually know what the truth is. all she ever confirms to the inquisitor when directly asked is that she was married, had a lover, her husband tricked her, killed her lover and imprisoned her, and that mythal came to her then. it's actually entirely possible for the writers to give her elven heritage because a. we've met characters who have one elven parent who don't have elven features (ie. alistair) and b. she's a shapeshifter and could be disguising her elven features so that the dreaded 'witch of the wilds' isn't associated with elves, which could easily cause problems for them. personally, I'd make her a servant from highever who rejected a noble man's advances, and in retaliation the noble had her lover killed and threw her in prison.
give her more ties to the dalish. again this is something I think the writers could still do, because we've had hints of her connection to the dalish already. we know the dalish have their own legends about her, and considering that asha'bellanar means the woman of many years it's not hard to imagine that some of them know more about her nature. merrill even says that she knows a little of the truth behind the name, so it's entirely possible to me that many of the keepers of the clans know more of the truth. in one of the novels (the stolen throne I think?) a dalish clan also takes marric and loghain to flemeth, which again shows us she does have dealings with them. but basically I want to see more of that connection. I want to hear about her helping the dalish, providing safe passage when they need it, sharing mythals knowledge over the centuries she's been interacting with them. stories about her have spread all over thedas, so she could easily have spent time with multiple clans. I would've loved it if mahariel recognized flemeth in dao. same vibes as seeing your teacher outside school when they look like they haven't done their laundry in a month.
give the city elves their own stories about her. this is partly why I'd make her an elven servant, and maybe make her lover elven, because I like the idea of her origin being similar to tabris. among the city elves, she's a legendary figure they whisper about, a woman who slaughtered those humans who wronged her and escaped into the wild. they say that if you can find flemeth, she'll shelter you from any humans who pursue you. I just like the idea of the dalish and the city elves having their own different stories about flemeth, connecting them to mythal and each other. as a side note, the symbol for the city elf origin, a vhenadahl tree, reminds me a lot of mythals vallaslin. the symbol for the dalish elf origin, a leafy mask, can also be found on a shield called mythals blessing.
most of the stories we've heard about her are from the chasind, or fereldan tales, so I think it's entirely possible for them to expand on the dalish stories about her and her connection to them. morrigan being the elven 'expert' in dai might not have been as tonedeaf if she also had elven heritage, or if she'd learned what she knew from the dalish (rather than stealing it) that flemeth interacted with, or if she wanted to share what she discovered with them, as flemeth did.
purely indulgent here, but if you play as lavellan and mess up during the save your clan war table missions, instead of them dying you get a letter from your keeper that asha'bellanar showed up to save them. actually this happened that's why lavellan never grieves during the game it's because their clan is fine. as the first to the keeper, lavellan also recognises flemeth when they meet her.
morrigan
flemeth and the elves / her connection to them could still be included by the writers but everything with morrigan is just you know. my thoughts
i'd make their relationship much better / closer. I wouldn't make flemeth a perfect mother or anything, and I think morrigan could still be mistrustful of people etc if she's learned she can only rely on herself and her mother. the story about the mirror could still be a thing, which again is because I wouldn't make it perfect, but morrigan didn't spend her entire childhood without affection / gifts / love etc. her personal quest wouldn't even need to change that much. you find the black grimoire in the circle tower and give it to her, and she freaks out when she reads it. since it seems like possessing morrigan isn't what flemeth intended, I can see flemeth having written things to mess with the templars who found it to entertain herself. finding this out is maybe even worse for morrigan here, because she does have a good relationship with flemeth and believed flemeth loved her, so the betrayal is worse.
get rid of that stuff about flemeth apparently seducing men and using them and then telling morrigan she expected the same of her. honestly of everything that stuff bothered me the most, and part of it is because it's in line with a lot of the stuff bioware does with female characters who have multiple partners. like the way they write aveline constantly slut shaming isabella in da2. it's the kind of story that would be told about the witches of the wilds to scare people etc but that isn't true. so yeah get rid of it.
I had more thoughts but these are the main ones. like I love flemeth and I can't imagine dragon age without her, but the revelation that she's mythal just put a few things in a different light. tdlr: I'd make flemeth and morrigans relationship much closer, and I'd show a lot more of flemeth's connection to the dalish. telling us that she's been amongst them for centuries and sharing what she knows over time without invalidating the culture they've created would also be nice because i hate the whole 'the dalish were wrong' narrative.
