saw people insisting blue lock can't canonize a gay ship because it's shonen and it would be censored, and I hear you, homophobia is a bitch, HOWEVER.

technically.

the censorship stuff applies to manga aimed at children, like 9-13. there are gay characters/relationships in manga aimed at older audiences, and they're not censored. it's not like Japan has never ever had queer shit in its media.

blue lock's anime is technically 14 and up, and the manga is published in Weekly Shonen Magazine, whose audience isn't quite as young as say, Shonen Jump. supposedly, it's for college students. older high school students.

now that doesn't mean it'll have any canon gay ships, I'm just saying, it's more in the realm of possibility than you know. Mha having a canon gay relationship.

also Kaneshiro has had a canon gay deuteragonist, like legit, with confirmed romantic feelings for the protagonist, in another Shonen series that was published in the SAME MAGAZINE.

so I doubt the age range/censorship is an issue.

that being said, that protagonist never returned those feelings, so.

Bachira kind of already fits that for me. If Isagi never returns his feelings, I would not be shocked at all.

but still. that's a major character who was confirmed gay (or possibly bi).

and a character who survives.

and I'm still holding out for a Legend of Korra style stealth NagiReo confirmation.

even Haikyuu got away with Kenma wearing Kuroo's shirt in the Haikyuu time skip.
