Ahem- noticed on discord ya mentioned you're short two days... Mayhaps I can throw out a suggestion hehe >:3 (if there's still space <3)

Call it a bit silly, but I feel like a Pirate AU would be such an interesting story besides also just loving em. It's Christmas/close to Christmas of all days, and they should be able to celebrate, even if they live on a ship! (And plunder but semantics.) It can be in any scenario really so here's a handful for you to play around with! (Choose whatever you want lol)

Y/n and the crew making a makeshift celebration on ship with whatever they have on hand without telling the DCA captain for a surprise (gone wrong? Gone right?). Going to a port and finding a town mid celebration, everyone joining the festivities (and mayhaps some issues arise). The struggles of getting a gift to a successful captain who could buy anything they want. Stopping by a nearby island to set up their own special celebration away from trouble.

The possibilities are endless on the open seas hehe!

You take a deep breath, inhaling the salty sweet air as you stand on the main deck, leaning against the railing. From here, you can just make out the port of Providence, getting only closer and closer as you sail. This would be your last stop in the colonies before heading south for the remainder of winter. You enjoyed the cold weather personally, but it was no good for sailing, or pirating, for that matter.

The crew is in good spirits as they prepare for docking, chatting amongst themselves excitedly about what they'll do once they get ashore again. You were only staying for a few days or so, but it would be enough for your purposes, it'd been your idea to stop after sailing over from Africa after all.

You see, your intention was to use this chance in order to get you captain, well, captains a gift for the upcoming holidays. Despite likely being on open water when the day of would arrive, you still wanted to get them something and celebrate. Problem was, you were struggling to come up with ideas. How do you get something for someone who could quite literally buy, cheat, or steal anything they could ever desire?

It was tough, and you were certainly stumped, so you were hoping that while pursuing the streets of Providence you'd find the perfect gifts for them.

Speaking of your captain, you glance up to where he stands near the helm, and unusually solemn look across his sunny features.

Over the past few days he'd been uncharacteristically avoidant, to you specifically. Which wouldn't be an issue if you weren't his quartermaster, making direct communication between the two of you incredibly important. That was ignoring the fact that you were good friends outside of your positions. And of course, your long-withstanding crush on both Captain Sun & Captain Moon. Having never acted on your feelings due to your own responsibilities to your ship and the crew.

Sun's gaze meets your own and your heart races from being caught in the act. Still, he gives you a small grin of acknowledgement, but it doesn’t quite match up with his usual cheeriness. It worries you, as much as Moon's now short, blunt, conversations he has with you. A stark contrast to your usual nightly discussions.

You turn back out to sea with a sigh, maybe they're just concerned about the length of your stay, or of the authorities being less than welcoming or the likes.

You force yourself to stop worrying about it for the time being, especially when to your and the crew's delight, Providence is mid-celebration for Christmas. The streets are lined with decorations, festival crowds fill every corner—making it that much easier to blend in—and music lofts through the air. Everyone is in merry spirits, and the festive energy rubs off on each of you. Even Sun cracks a smile at the sight, though, he's still not talking to you, to your disappointment.

"You're readin' too much it into it, mon ami." Monty tells you as you peruse the streets together. "He's probably just concerned until we make it back south."

Of your options, he was surprisingly the best one ask when came to searching for gifts. Freddy or Chica may accidentally snitch, while Roxy would probably end up trying to talk you into a gift that would be better for her than it would be your captains.

You sigh, stopping for a moment to peek inside a store. "Yeah, so am I, but if that's the case we should be talking more, not less. It, hurts. But maybe that's just my heart talking."

"That heart of yours is gonna be the death of me, honnement." Monty scoffs as you once again choose to move to another store. "Just tell them already, ouais? There is no reason to believe they do not feel the same."

You rest your hand on the glass pane of this shop's window. Inside rests several displays of stunning jewelry, which ironically, would be ill-suited for your captains. Still, you can't help but admire the pieces, in particular a necklace featuring a sun & moon charm, dotted with tiny emeralds and sapphires. A shame you only have enough money to buy something for the two of them, and it's too open of a place to snatch it up for yourself.

You sigh, shaking your head. "With how the past few days are going, I'm not so sure."

Despite your lack of luck finding a gift, you do your best to enjoy and partake in the festivities. You join in the gaiety, drinking and dancing away your troubles. It's a lovely time. That is, until it's interrupted.

You see, you weren't foolish. A bit tipsy, yes, but still aware of your surroundings. And in your surroundings was  a certain captain, glare on you all throughout the day as you had fun with your crew and the townies.

It comes to a head when day shifts to night, and mid-dance with an—admittedly—handsome stranger, you're separated by a firm hand on your shoulder.

Utterly confused, you trace the hand back to its owner, seeing a scowling Captain Moon.

Before you can protest he speaks, words gritted out and low. "I think that's enough for tonight, don't you, Nightingale?"

"I, suppose?" You're a bit in shock, honestly.

Moon nods, dragging you away from your dance partner. "Good. Glad we're in agreement."

You stumble along beside him for a moment, starting to come to your senses and anger boiling up in place of your confusion.

"Hey, what exactly is the issue? I don't understand—woah! Put me down!"

Moon adjusts his grip on your legs and back, carrying you bridal style back to the inn you were staying at for the night. "No. You're stumbling and stuttering your words."

"I, because I'm flustered and you're throwing me around like a ragdoll, that's why!" You beat your fists against his chest. "You know, I'm getting real tired of how you two have been acting the past few days. We're supposed to be in this together!" Your tone turns soft, wounded, vulnerable. "At least, I thought we were."

Nothing but the sound of Moon's footsteps against the cobblestone street. Glancing up, you see he's still got that same frown on his face but his eyes seem, conflicted.

When you get to the inn and he shifts to Sun, his counterpart keeps that same expression, ignoring your questions as he passes by the room you were going to be sharing with Roxy and Chica. When you head upstairs, it clicks he's taking you to the nicer room they'd rented for themselves.

He drops you on the bed unceremoniously, then heads for the nearby chair and collapses in it. Seeming intent to get straight to resting without further discussion.

You realize it's exactly that when he mumbles. "Goodnight, Bluebird. Get some rest. We're leaving at sun up."

Sun closes his eyes, and you're left staring at him with utter confusion (and partially concealed frustration) in the glow of a dying fire. When you realize that he's actually gone to bed you huff, and make a fuss over kicking off and tossing your boots in his general direction, followed by your remaining outer clothes. Which, you also toss his way. Sun's  brow furrows slightly at the noise, but otherwise ignores you.

You toss over in the bed, it's creaks under your weight, and after a bit of extra tossing and turning, you wind up falling asleep. Somehow.

The next morning, Sun keeps his word, and you're leaving town at the crack of dawn to the displeasure of every crew member, including yourself.

Now, you're not just upset, but angry with the two. You're still going to find them the perfect gifts for the upcoming holiday, but now you're mad about it.

So, what's a quartermaster to do when it's the holidays and their captains' are being difficult? Why, hammer down on the festivities and make them get their acts together, of course.

Before you'd left town, you'd gotten a few of your crew together and sent them out to gather supplies, using whatever means they chose; legal or otherwise. Then, when you got out to sea, you reviewed what materials you had and began plotting.

You'd  be in the open ocean when Christmas finally came, not likely to arrive in the Caribbean for at least several weeks. Therefore, any and all celebrations would have to happen on the ship. And you were going to make them count.

The crew knew the plan, and they followed your lead when it came to preparations. Everyone knew their place, now it was just a waiting game.

In the meantime, tensions rose further between you and the captains. After that night they'd tried for an apology, but you were still angry, and busy with planning that you initially blew them off. Which you'd argue was fair after how they'd been ignoring you. Now you'd catch them staring, remorse worn heavy on their features. Still, you kept your distance, mainly so you wouldn't let anything slip about your surprise. You did stay cordial though, you had a job to do still, after all.

As for your gifts, you'd struck up an idea one night and when you realized you had the supplies for it, got to work. It wasn't easy, you weren't a woodcarver, but you tried. Made a mess of your hands though, from how many times you'd nicked yourself in the process.

You almost got caught one night, walking through the ship's belly back to your room, after getting patched up by Chica. Again.

You're passing by a dark corner when a hand suddenly snatches your wrist. You gasp whipping to look at the culprit and seeing red eyes staring at you from the dark.

Your surprise turns to irritation. "Something wrong, captain?"

"What have you been up to?" Moon's words are sharp.

You keep your cool, chin tilting up. "I don't know what you're referring to."

"Don't play coy, Star. Not with this." He steps forward, Sun's rays popping out as he does. "What's happened to your hands, Sunshine?"

You notice how the grip on your wrist is less a grip and more a gentle hold, his thumb soothing over were one of the bandages wraps around the back of your hand.

It causes two things to happen, your face heats up, and you have the urge to snatch your hand back, feeling they have no right to be so soft with you. "That's not your business."

"You're our—our quartermaster, of course it is." Sun shakes his head, frowning. "Why do you have to be so difficult?"

You scoff. "Me? I'm not the one that's been—" You cut yourself off, turning away. "Forget it. Goodnight, Captain. I'll see you tomorrow. Have a nice rest of your evening. Or Christmas Eve, I should say."

You pull away then, leaving him alone in the hall. Had you looked back, you would have seen how his hand was still outstretched, face filled with longing and regret.

You work late into the night to finish your gifts, and rise early in the morning to enact your plan. With the help of the crew, you decorate the entire ship inside and out with the decorations you'd gotten back in town. They'd even managed to snag a Tree, propping it up by the main mast, it's beautiful, but Providence is a sea side  town, meaning they—likely—stole it out of someone's home. Oh well.

By the time the Captains wake up, the entire ship is filled with holiday activities from the main deck down to the mess, where Chica works on making a the perfect holiday dinner. Again, you didn't give them that much to spend, so you can only assume some poor family—or families rather—is missing out this morning.

Sun's eyes are wide as he steps out onto the deck, looking around with an awe that you've missed.

Taking a deep breath, you step toward him as he looks to you, tinge of a confused grin on his face. "What's all this now?"

"It's Christmas, Captain." You shrug. "You think we weren't going to celebrate?"

He looks around again, eyes stopping on the tree with a laugh. "I suppose I did."

"You were mistaken, then." You hold out your gift to him, ducking your head. "Now, take this before I change my mind." Or get too embarrassed, you think to yourself.

You can hear the shock in Sun's voice. "I, for me?"

"Both of you, actually. But their a set so it's just easier for you to open both. I  hope Moon won't be too upset by that."

Sun takes the gifts and you step back, face starting to burn now as you wait. "He can deal with it. Thank you." He looks down at the gift, then back to you, smile soft. "It means a lot."

"Yeah, yeah just open it already and end my suffering. My hands need closure."

A second of recognition in his gaze. Then, with careful precision, Sun opens your gifts. Inside the cloth are two small wooden figurines, carved painstakingly by you. A bluebird, and a nightingale, one for each captain, respectively.

"I thought you two could use a reminder of who's in charge around here. So now you have something to keep that'll maybe make you think of me." You look down to the deck, fiddling with your hands. "I guess it's a little silly, since it's not like I'm going anywhere anytime soon but you two are horrible to try and shop for and—"

Your ramble is cut off by a tight hug. Sun shifts his hold to wrap around your waist, head resting against your neck.

"Thank you, love. They're wonderful."

Before you can say anything he pulls back, and with his free hand grips your chin, leaning down to kiss you. He stops after a moment, eyes half-lidded as his thumb rubs against your cheek.

The crew all around you starts cheering. Whopping and hollering as you duck your head and march up to the helm, hand held tightly in Sun's as you drag him with you.

"You don't hear a thing, got it?" You point your finger at the helmsman, who nods quickly before turning forward again.

Sun's chuckling turns your attention back to him.

"If I'd known you'd be flustered I would have done that somewhere more private. My sincerest of apologies."

You scoff. "I'm more than flustered, I'm furious. Who are you calling me 'love' after how you've been acting?"

"You're not wrong." He ducks his head, now his turn to be embarrassed. "I owe you an explanation. We both do."

You cross your arms, leaning against the railing.

Sun sighs. "We care about you, I care about you. A lot, Bluebird. A dangerous amount, to be frank. And we both came to that realization quite recently, despite feeling this way for some time. And it, scared me, scared us both. If something were to happen to you, because of us, because of what we do." Sun shakes his head. "I could never forgive myself."

Your sternness softens. He continues. "We shouldn't have pushed you away, should have tried to explain. I suppose we thought that avoiding you meant these feelings would go away. It was a foolish endeavor, I see that now." He laughs softly. "And when we saw you, without us, with someone else back at the festival, it made us realize that we don't want to lose you, don't want to let you go. Even though we know the risks that come with that."

"Sun—"

He shakes his head. "But, if nothing else, I'm sorry. As is Moon."

You stare at him a moment, taking it all in. Then, you sigh, and open your arms. "You are foolish, the two of you. But your my fools, so come here."

Sun all but leaps into your arms, wrapping his own around you to pick you up into a spin. You laugh, arms going around his neck as you kiss him once more.

This time, you ignore the heckling of your crew down before, instead enjoying this moment for what it is. You'll worry about being teased for the rest of your days later. For now, you have a captain to kiss.

It's a Connect 4 Bingo Challenge!

Pick one or more of the four themed StrickPage Bingo cards, and try to create four pieces that connect in any direction. Each card has sixteen spaces, with fifteen prompts and one free space for a wild card.

Cringe ass Headcanons about the Don't Starve Together Gang's gender and sexuality

Wilson - Aroace He cares more about science and being a smart ass than he does romance or sex.

Willow - Lesbian She seems like the type of girl that scares men away on purpose... Gremlin woman.

Wolfgang - Aroace He would rather settle down with a friend than a lover. The man also sees most of the people in the group as friends.

Wendy - Aroace She is a kid but even if she was an adult, her grief for her sister is stronger than any love for someone (be is romantic or what not)

WX-78 - Non-binary & Aroace They are canonically non-binary so the obvious is obvious. They don't feel romantic feelings but they can feel many other forms of love... they are not truly emotionless.

Wickerbottom - Asexual Biromantic She wouldn't mind a partner to help her at her library but she might not go with any of the people here... except maybe Wanda.

Woodie - Pansexual More like axe-sexual... Wait wouldn't that make every ship with him a polycule? He loves Lucy but if he was to love someone that wasn't a talking axe, he wouldn't care what gender they are.

Wes - Demiboy & Asexual Wes feels like the type to be referred to with he / them... Be it because of the character he plays or because that's what they refers to themself as.

Wigfrid - Demigirl & Bisexual This queen of theater (Sorry Charlie) uses she / them much the same way Wes does... that and she is just cool like that. Oh and she likes people.

Webber - Demiboy & Aroace His reasoning for being demiboy is because he is literally two beings and the spider is a they / it... also same thing as Wendy, his fixation on bugs and critters is stronger than dumb romantic love. (If he was like an adult)

Winona - Butch [Lesbian] Obvious thing is obvious, she has a girlfriend back on Earth that thinks she's dead. Also like look at her, she is straight up very butch leaning.

Warly - Gay The other side of the spectrum, Warly is probably gay... Totally not because Waokevale and another person influenced me with Warly x Woodie...

Wortox - Aroace Mortal concepts as "love" and "sex" doesn't interest this imp, he is only after chaos and fun.... Also Wortox gives zero DAMNs what pronouns you use on Wortox.

Wormwood - Non-Binary & Aroace The lad doesn't know or really feel that type of stuff [And it's not because he is a "kid", he is an adult.], Wormwood only uses he / him pronouns on himself because they sound nice but he doesn't mind any pronouns really.

Wurt - Aroace Wurt is a kid and she's more focus on creating a merm kingdom and learning to really care.

Walter - Aroace Kid doesn't care about romance but probably had a crush at some point.

Twilight Sparkle once smoked weed during her equivalent of college and to this day is terrified that Celestia will find out (Celestia already knows)

Twilight has very little knowledge of memes and her friends frequently have to explain new slang to her before she causes political scandals (“no Twilight ‘kys’ does not mean ‘keep yourself safe’”)

Much like a real horse, Twilight often falls asleep standing up during her late-night stress & study sessions. Spike has had to wake her up and tell her to go to bed numerous times

Twilight was that kid who reminded her teachers there was homework when they forgot. Her classmates didn’t really like her for that

Her love life is very…active lol, including when she’s in a stable and committed relationship (like active within that relationship not as a serial cheater). She loves learning new techniques if you catch my drift

Fluttershy is surprisingly confident when she’s attracted to someone, and when she’s in a committed relationship she has a lot of fun facts about animal mating patterns to share with them for…no particular reason

Unlike Twilight, Flutters is surprisingly well-versed in memes because she’s learned a lot from Discord (and also Treehugger). She doesn’t really understand the humor in all of them but she’s aware of them

(In a universe where FlutterCord is canon) She had to absolutely fight for her life in the Mane 6 meetups when she told her friends she was dating/crushing on him

Daring Do eventually loses popularity, partly because so many of her books involve actual artifact theft and social attitudes have changed, and partly because ponies just moved on to newer book series. Rainbow Dash still remains her biggest die-hard fan even when she looks pathetic doing so

Rainbow Dash acts like a big baby every time Tank hibernates for the rest of her life (he outlives her) but after the first few years it’s kind of silly

RD doesn’t take good care of her hooves because she flies all the time and forgets to trim them due to not walking very much. Because of this, they look funky and overgrown and her friends kind of clown on her for it

When she’s older, Rainbow Dash wrecks some of her joints trying to do stunts that she did when she was younger (like carrying her “little” sister). She has the worst midlife crisis out of all her friends

When Rarity was a filly, she used to create the most elaborate and dramatic plotlines with her dolls that easily measured up to any soap opera, with betrayals, love triangles, custody battles, the whole works

She enjoys listening to soul-crushingly sad music (like Marina’s discography) during her ice cream-crying sessions, in the process roleplaying a life much more dysfunctional than she has because it helps her cope with her actual problems. Also listens to that music in a good mood if she needs to be inspired for a certain fashion piece

She overstocks her supplies to a sometimes comical extent, like she has 400 refills for her bedazzler machine. How does she have room for all that stuff? A lady never reveals her secrets, darling✨

(In a human context, ignoring Equestria Girls) it took her awhile to learn that Apple Bloom had TikTok and other social media accounts because she only uses Facebook on her clunky home computer

AJ is incapable of enjoying any kind of sitcom because she’s always poking holes in the plot. Her least favorite storylines are the “caught in a lie” and general miscommunication tropes

She also can’t watch well-written, dramatic tv shows either if any of the characters behave dishonestly (such as Breaking Bad)

Pinkie and Cheese once performed “Amish Paradise” for her parents and sisters (even in universes where they aren’t a couple). Reactions were VERY mixed

Also some of my “how they explain the birds and the bees to their kids” headcanons for my next gens are pretty funny

Fluttershy is really good at explaining the whole life cycle (including reproduction and death) because taking care of so many animals means she’s seen it all. Nothing squicks her out anymore. She explains things matter-of-factly but gently as she guides her little ones through various examples involving her animals.

Twilight would do a good job and be comfortable with it but she would also go overboard, giving a college-level lecture about the full reproductive process when her 10 year old daughter only wanted to know what going into heat meant. Twi’s partner calls Fluttershy in to help for the kid’s sake.

Rarity buys her daughter the pony equivalent of those Care & Keeping of You books (and her son gets the male equivalent of those books). She uses those books to bond with her kids over “becoming a mare/stallion.”

Applejack is very overprotective of Apple Bloom and probably procrastinated on giving her “the talk” only to find out that AB already learned from the other CMC (especially Scoot “left completely unsupervised 24/7” aloo /hj). A similar deal would probably happen with her own kids as well unless her partner is better about it. Even though, years before, Granny Smith was very straight with AJ like “ya wanna know how our new batch of chicks was made?”

Pinkie isn’t uncomfortable with the talk at all, except her explanation gets so convoluted and off topic that her kids go off to ask someone else.

I started watching the show 'cause I was raised in the inner-city & heard that there was this new show that was doing this really good, honest depiction of inner-city life. Tell me the 'hood is being accurately depicted & neither romanticized, nor made into a caricature & I show up. Those first few seasons were so familiar to me in both comforting & repulsive ways.

And THEN there also happens to be a gay 'ship in this show?! 😱 I mean, there was no way I could escape the pull of Shameless.

So, it started with me binging back episodes, and it escalated to fanart. Then I tripped across some fanfic... I was a creepy creeper lurking in the background for a long time. Eventually, I struck up a conversation with @dancermk in her comment section. And it all snowballed from there. (Sorry, I just said snowballed –it's not meant to be used as a euphemism.)

Strangely enough, it was Pinterest, I think. It was some fanart or fanfic that was pinned & I followed the thread to AO3.

Soul Eater characters and their MLP Gen 4 equivalents

i will be disregarding all ships and familial relationships for this purely because it would make it WAY too complicated and this is my silly little haha. i already put too much thought into it, i cannot burden my mind with the restraint of familial and romantic relations.

first up, the main 7 characters. starting with the one who inspired this all:

Maka as Twilight Sparkle

she's got the wings, she's got the book smart, she's got the power of friendship on her side, it's perfect. this was all started b/c while rewatching the anime, we joked that Maka's dubbed voice sounded like Twilight. this one is the strongest comparison, it gets worse from here.

Soul as Spike

no offense to Soul, but he's usually secondary to Maka most of the time. snarky, sassy, and often asking questions. also, his name is Spike, Soul's got spiky hair, it makes sense.

Black☆Star as Rainbow Dash

cocky, proud, super strong, fast, and blue!! a lot of their development revolves around like valuing other people (Black☆Star is more about like,,,, becoming his own person but y'know) also they both have scratchy voices.

Tsubaki as Fluttershy

calm and mild mannered, but also on occasion has the ability to go apeshit. befriends someone who is quite strong and obnoxious that most characters find annoying.

Death the Kid as Rarity

obsessive about appearances and has a particularly fancy way of talking. pale?? distinctive hair. makes sense.

How I feel about this character

Overall, I really like Eulalie's character, and her vibes! I love how she's almost doll-like, and manages to be graceful while also a bit clumsy when it comes to socializing (mood). However, it does sort of bug me how most of the time she's written as only an addition to Berenice (and vise versa), and specifically the less useful of the two. The only time she's really been able to be of help to the group OUTSIDE of the group (/ teaming up with someone (Berenice)) was the end of the first season, where she puts in her two cents about the theory of the afterlife and her support of Lenore, which serves as a tipping point to get the others on board. (10/10 scene btw I fuckin loved it)

I wish she got more time to shine, and really show her strengths more than just a helper / secondary to other characters. Other than that, I do have one more thing that sort of bugs me, which is, funnily enough even though I quite like her design... Her design. Her design is nice, don't get me wrong-- I love the vibes, she's one of my favorite characters to draw. However, considering she's supposed to be Japanese, and comparing her to other characters, it really feels like she sort of just got the anime treatment...? She has these big wide eyes, purple hair (although it's apparently just a stylistic choice, but something that affects her specifically and no one else), and her eyes and eyelashes are more stylized than most the rest of the cast. While that's not bad as itself, I just wish she was given more actual Asian features, or made so that it's a bit clearer that she's Japanese rather than just her Spectre and her last meal (which, to be fair, while it's a Japanese meal, it's a little funny to assume ethnicity based just on foodstuff imo)

Even with all of this, though, I love love LOVE Eulalie, she's probably one of my top 3-4 Nevermore characters, and I'm excited to see how she grows next season!

Pluto

I find their interactions fun, but honestly what I ship them for is more of what they could be rather than what they are. I like how Pluto's an absolute mess lol, then Eulalie just being the embodiment of :)? I think they could be fun, they deserve to bond more like how they sort of did at the end of the season. Pluto loves etymology, Eulalie loves the afterlife and mythology, there's a large overlap between etymology and mythology, so they should have an autism off about that I think. And smooch a bit maybe.

Berenice

I honestly haven't thought much on them, but I find them really cute! I love how they play off each other, and how just casually affectionate they are with each other. Rather than them being completely whipped for the other (sort of like how Pluto is an absolute mess crushing on Eula), I see them as very down to earth and casual about their relationship, not too flustered over it most the time. They can just casually cuddle and talk about their day, and that's good for them! Honestly talking about them for the first time and yeah. I should draw them, they're cute :]

Annabel Lee

Random curveball, ha! Again with my sentiment with Pluto but blown to the extreme, I like them for what they could be rather than what they are. Seeing as they have a total of 1 tiny interaction lol. Honestly I got drawn into this by some friends on discord, and like... hear me out.

Annabel constantly is on guard, and people only sees what she wants them to see. Everything she does is an act, and she finds being seen in truth by other people terrifying. Eulalie, on the other hand, doesn't hide who she is at all. She's completely honest, almost to a fault, and earnest too. She says what she thinks, and genuinely thinks what she says. She's not afraid of how people think of her or judge her, and as such, she's much less afraid of people than Annabel is. I feel like Annabel, as she's around Eulalie more, could come to really respect and even admire that about her. At first, she's certain, something's going to happen to "make her see reason". However, even when Eulalie's harassed a bit, she bounces back, and she doesn't take it to heart. That really makes Annabel see... wow. She's stronger than her in that way. Yet maybe instead of viewing her as a threat, she finds herself wanting to get closer to her, and see just how she does it.

Eulalie, on the other hand, is simply a curious critter, as one might say. She sees Annabel and goes oo! She seems neat! She has no qualms about talking to her (and apparently messing with her hair lol), and overall is just genuinely curious of What is Up with this lady. She finds Annabel strange, to be honest, in her demeanor. She seems so reserved, yet perfectly put together at the same time. It's almost uncanny, really. She finds it sort of fascinating. As they get closer and closer, maybe Annabel starts to lower her guard a little, and Eulalie goes !! Wow... that's the real her. She's spectacular. I want to see more!

After the manor arc Eulalie is sort of just like... Will, hon (/p), Blink twice.

No but in all seriousness, again, Eulalie is very close to her friends and wants to protect them. She feels obligated to help them, but not from fear or guilt, but because they're her friends and she wants them safe. Will, meanwhile, likewise feels obligated, and yes, does care about Montresor, but it's more out of fear (both of him, yes, but also abandonment in general). So while Lenore can yell at him till the cows come home about Montresor not actually caring about him, I think Eulalie can help make him realize that friendships should support both sides, not just one, and overall like... man help this man. Free my mans. I find his and Montresor's interactions fascinating don't get me wrong, and he's guilty too Will is not innocent but please. separate these two a little . Except Eula I feel would actually be able to explain it not in a "montresor is using you and is a terrible person" sort of way (even if she thinks that), but in a "this friendship is hurting you more than it's helping" sort of way. Idk

My unpopular opinion about this character

I fucking WISH we had gotten a flashback or scene of after Will kinda got um. impaled numerous times by Eulalie lol. Like- since he was in spectre form, he didn't die from that, but since Eulalie's powers iirc allow her revert malevolent spectres, and he's neutral, I dunno if she would've been even able to let him die??? So like... best she can do is remove the lances lol, I'm just curious on how that went down,,, cuz she clearly felt bad, Berenice did too, and then there's Will being self deprecating and also impaled so like. Fun times. I wish we had seen more of what happened there.

Chikawa Week Day 1: Flower

Reproduction of the Ranunculus Flower gifted to Amu-sensei by the KOT discord server for the Kono Oto Tomare! 10th anniversary.

I've spent a great deal of time thinking about what to do for Chikawa Week. I don't think my fanart is all that good and it takes me a chunk of time to make, and I can't write fanfics to save my life. Then it dawned on me that I don't have to do anything new at all. I just need to stick to my strengths. As it happens, I enjoy writing "essays". So for Chikawa Week, I will write one essay based on the prompt for the day!

The prompt for Day 1 is "Flower" and I couldn't think of anything better to get started. When you mention "Flower" when talking about "Kono Oto Tomare!", one cannot but think about the beautiful pink ranunculus Chika gifted to Satowa on the day of the Revitalization Concert.

In this essay, I would like to delve deeper into the symbolism and importance this flower has in Chika and Satowa's relationship.

For me, it all starts with Isaki, funnily enough. That week, Satowa had invited him to assist to the Revitalization Concert that would welcome her back into the Hozuki Clan. Chika, of course, was thrilled to go, but I'm afraid he was not aware of the etiquette involved in these kinds of events. Not too surprising, he is just a teenager, and it's not like he has ever had to go to an event where a certain dress code is needed. It's his first time, we have to cut him some slack!!

Thankfully, Isaki is there to help him out. We love an Aunt who knows her nephew has a big fat crush on the Hozuki Lady, and is willing to captain the Chikawa Ship for the day.

She first tells him he should dress adequately, and that under no circumstances should he present himself to her house empty-handed. Of course, Chika asks her what should he buy, then. And she suggests flowers. I find it endearing that Isaki is trying to educate Chika on chivalry, and in how a lady should be treated. Specially when you are someone important to her. And of course, she is being sneaky because we all know what a man gifting a woman his age (and not related to him) flowers means.

As awkward as Chika can be, he knows his Aunt speaks the truth, and he should trust her. That's why without more complaint, he stops by a flower shop before heading to the Hozuki Household.

At the flower shop, the Helmsman (or Helmswoman as it happens) of the Chikawa Ship for the day is waiting for him. The florist sees a doubtful teenager intensely looking at the flowers, and she understands she has an assignment to ace. And wow does she ace it.

I can only imagine that, in the beginning, Chika intended to buy flowers as a sort of "assignment". His aunt told him they were necessary and it was not like he was going to question that judgment, but he thought it was just a matter of picking whatever he first saw that looked okay, buying it, and going his merry way. And they are just flowers. They grow all over the place, how expensive can they be, right?

When he sees all the types of flowers and arrangements? Well, things just get complicated. Because what flowers should he buy then? Also, he is broke. Our helmswoman won't let that be an impediment, though. No, sir! She gently asks if he is searching for something, and Chika awkwardly replies "A bouquet". Worth noting, he stumbles over the word "bouquet", and it's so cute because you just know that's a word he hasn't used much, if at all, and he is already making an effort to get out of his comfort zone.

Now, the budget. As I said, Chika is broke. He is SO broke, he can't even buy a mini-bouquet. He has a measly 254 yens (equivalent to 1,70 USD) to his name.

Chika's financial situation won't deter our Helmswoman. She will see this through!

She offers him the option of buying a single flower. One with his thoughts and emotions on it. And unknowingly, at that moment, she turns what was an "assignment", into so much more. Because Chika immediately relates it to "Treasuring each sound".

He understands that one single flower might just hold the power to tell Satowa what he thinks and feels on her Special Day. And is not something that he should think about superficially.

However, there is challenge in transmiting his thoughts and emotions with one single flower. Very similar to "Treasuring each sound". But also, different. He is not versed in the "Flower Language". He finds it easier to communicate with music than with words! Not to worry, our Helmswoman is there to stir him in the right direction.

She asks him "What sort of girl is she, this girl who isn't your girlfriend". That is not an easy question to answer. It demands honesty and vulnerability. If you really want to give her the perfect flower, you have to be transparent, you can't gloss over things or tell half truths. You only have one chance to get your message across.

For the first time, Chika puts into words how he sees her. She is powerful and strong, yet sometimes surprisingly weak. The store clerk is sort of confused by the contradiction, yet it makes perfect sense. And it is a testament to their relationship. When he first met her, she put up a front, acting strong, refusing to ask for help and struggling to open herself to him and the koto club. But behind that mask, was fear. Fear of being left behind, of her sound harming others. When the clerk asks "Which is it?", he replies "Mostly strong, definitely". To him, who has seen her face her fears, and come up the victor, she is more powerful and dazzling than when she was trying to act like she was strong. A woman who shines her brigthest when she performs. "When she performs, she is amazingly cool". And then he adds "Always very awkward".

That is what knowing someone really is like. They have so many colors and shades to them, that is so very difficult to make a uniform statement about who they are. They can be strong yet weak, cool yet awkward. Chika doesn't only like Satowa's brightest colors, he finds all of her shades and tones charming and worth noting. He also sneaks in her "Huge chest". He couldn't let us forget he is just a growing boy, with blood in his veins.

"Is she cute? Or beautiful?", asks our invested florist. Chika falls silent, ruminating over the question. But how could he possibly choose one? How could he simply pick one of her tones? Satowa is "Both", he replies quietly. And our Helmswoman understands in that moment that this flower is not only meant to be given to a performer, or some kind of unreachable idol, but to the girl this boy loves, wether he knows it or not. The girl he finds most charming, admirable, but also wishes to protect.

Gifting a ranunculus, in the language of flowers, means "I find you dazzingly charming". Then you add the meaning of the color. Pink signifies love, romance, and gentle feelings. I highly doubt she told him that, though. I imagine she simply prepared the most beautiful pink ranunculus she could find, and gave it to him with a smile, knowing she had found the perfect flower, for the girl who is perfect for that boy.

And we know Satowa received the feelings and emotions that Chika's gift carried. Because even if she received countless bouquetes that day, there was one single single flower that wasn't given to her out of obligation, one single flower that was given to her with honest feelings of happiness for her returning to her family... One single flower that was meant for her, given by a boy who loves every shade and color that makes her who she is.

And so, Satowa framed the flower and hung it in the lobby. Because before going out to face a new day, she will have the reminder that there is a boy who admires her and wants her to do well. And when she comes home, there will be comfort waiting for her.

Without knowing it, Chika gave her "home" within one flower.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about self-shipping recently and I thought it was so interesting as someone who has developed crushes on fictional characters often (especially when I was younger) and have been in fandoms since I was young

But I always dealt with my crushes by shipping them with other characters I had a crush on (Kai and Cole, Fluttershy and Discord). So I thought I never experienced that self-shipping personally.

Except- I remembered- I used to self ship myself with Princess Luna. Before I knew what self shipping was- I used to daydream about being her personal royal guard and that she would try to take over Equestria again. I would be so loyal and protect her better than anyone else that she couldn’t help but fall in love with me.

hi hi f30+ here hoping to find someone to rp one of the following scenarios with me. As they will be smut heavy, I'm only looking for 18+ players. some scenarios could be considered 🕊️.

the ships are all fandomless mxm, whether the characters are cis or trans can be discussed beforehand. Whether your characters are human is up to you! Dos and don'ts regarding kinks will be discussed in private.

Scenario 1: my incubus sets out to corrupt your character, who is going through a crisis of faith (Either as a priest or believer or maybe even an angel). It'll be a slow corruption, disguised by friendly sympathy and an open ear. Posing the right questions, encouraging the little things which will lead to the downfall. Maybe your character is trying to convince mine to find hope in faith again, leading to a back and forth, somewhat of a power struggle. How fast or slow your character lets the seduction happen is up to you. There will be plenty of eroticism and ust (which will hopefully end with them actually falling in love.) Kinks/tropes: Temptation/corruption, libido manipulation, seduction, potentially loss of virginity, sex dreams, Strangers to lovers/fwb.

Scenario 2: your character stumbles across my werewolf guy in the middle of a blizzard. He's pretty peeved that someone has invaded his territory and isn't above threats of violence while yours tries to explain their reasons for their presence (perhaps chased out by family? village burned down? deserting from the army? actually a werewolf hunter? a wandering werewolf himself? up to you) and ultimately convinces my werewolf to take your character to his den to escape the cold. He's not happy at all at having a stranger in his home and there'd be plenty of snapping and posturing and scowling and angry comments. All while the blizzard carries on for days and the supplies dwindle... Kinks/tropes: Survival, scenting, lots of werewolf related kinks, cuddling for warmth, (angry) strangers/enemies to lovers/fwb.

Scenario 3: my sweet himbo moth hybrid guy lives in captivity at a monster research center and meets your character there. Perhaps yours is a doctor, either a complete newbie or an expercienced transfer from another center. Or the janitor, or perhaps a newly brought in hybrid. Or something else entirely, up to you. This could turn into something sweet where they befriend each other and the research facility is not a bad place (species conservation, perhaps) OR we go the darker route and the facility experiments on the hybrids (i.e. secretion/fluids for medicine, testing drugs...). Could be that your character comes to care for mine and they escape together or yours is using my moth guy's obvious crush to their advantage to further their research. (Potential) Kinks/tropes: Medical kinks, (experiments, drugging...), manipulation, dub con, dehumanization, strangers to lovers.

I usually write 3 to 5 paragraphs and try to tag back daily. This will be taking place over discord or dreamwidth.

I’m a multiple paragraphs/novella style writer. I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. Not every reply has to be novella length, however. If there are action or dialogue heavy scenes, I tend to do a shorter back and forth to keep the momentum going. 

I only do MxF (with me writing the female role). I don’t double, but I’m more than happy to write side characters of either gender to help move the story along. I only want female authors writing male characters as I’m uncomfortable with cis male authors. (Nonbinary pals are an exception).

I'm really hoping to find a friendship, someone who can add to our story, and most importantly, someone who wants a long-term connection. It's difficult for me to write with someone if I don't feel that genuine bond. It's also important to me to have a high level of activity, with at least one reply a day.

 An older male character (early forties to mid-late fifties). I love the gruff and tough men with dark pasts who secretly have a soft heart. I also love grumpy, hypermasculine men being intimidated by sweet but fiery women. My characters are mid-late twenties to early-mid thirties so the age gap is legal. 

I'm not looking for age play. It's a romance between two consenting adults who each act exactly their age, and they just happen to be different ages. 

Enthusiasm to chat about our character and ship, how to crush them and then gushing over fluffy moments. I love crying over characters and what the heck they’re doing. I want my heart ripped from my chest from angst, then feeling like it’s going to burst from overwhelming cuteness. I want us to love these characters and the world we create. I want to make pinterest boards, spotify playlists, graphics, and toss headcanons back and forth until late at night.
