#Strickpage Strikeout is Here!
It's a Connect 4 Bingo Challenge!
Pick one or more of the four themed StrickPage Bingo cards, and try to create four pieces that connect in any direction. Each card has sixteen spaces, with fifteen prompts and one free space for a wild card.
The WrestleDream card offers softer, more tentative new relationship prompts for a fluffier side or AUs.
The Full Gear card is your classic StrickPage horny violence with lots of vampire undertones.
The Revolution card pulls a lot of weight and no punches, shouldering the angst burden through the All In era.
The All Out card brings us full circle to our modern standing, with a complicated combo of fiery passion and threads ended but untied.
Of course if you get that competitive itch you can always try your hand at a second card. Or even combine prompts from multiple. The truly wild might try for a full card strikeout...
This is not just a fic challenge, and this is a great reminder that AO3 does work as repository both to embed media AND to link out to other sites on third parties.
Mix it and match it up if you want: do a fic drabble one day, a sketch the next, a video edit the third, and round out the last day with a lovely set of memes.
Expanded Cards with Posting Information & Links to TV Tropes Pages Below Read More.
You can add your works, anonymously or not, to the StrickPage StrikeOut AO3 collection beginning Midnight on March 3rd, Pacific Time, remaining open through the end of the month for inevitable 'life happens' straggling.
Please tag your works #StrickPage StrikeOut on social media with a space, and avoid tagging alternative ship name spellings.
We recommend imgbox.com for third party image hosting with ease of embedding and galleries and no sign up required, and Vimeo for the same with videos edits.
There are no real rules to this challenge other than to create StrickPage or Hangman & Swerve relationship fanworks in the spirit of the challenge. Take the cards and make your own challenges.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me by DM on Tumblr, Discord, or Bsky if you have questions, but really the point of this is just to have fun and create as a fandom! Don't put too much pressure on it.
Tumblr media

How Dad Met Mom - Come around, kids, this is the story of how your father and I fell in love.
Puppy Love - Romance between pre-pubescent children. [Note: This is on the list because of Swerve's famous playlist choice to include 'Awaken, My Love' for the Deathmatch, which includes the line 'So This isn't just Puppy Love'. Like all prompts on these cards, interpret as you see fit.]
Love at First Punch - Falling in love with somebody who beat you up.
Forgotten First Meeting - Forgetting that you first met your love interest long ago.
Best Her to Bed Her - A man must defeat a strong woman in combat if he wishes to romance her.
Crazy in the Head, Crazy in the Bed - A character is eccentric or outright insane, which makes them more appealing in the romantic and sexual sense.
Tumblr media

Stalker with a Crush - A character who follows the person they're in love with everywhere.
Stalker without a Crush - Whose obsession is unrelated to romantic or sexual feelings.

Breaking and Bloodsucking - Vampires break into bedrooms to attack women.
Hemo Erotic - A fetish for biting and drinking blood.

Combat Sadomasochist - Someone who enjoys both inflicting harm on (and also receiving harm from) other people.
I Hate You, Vampire Dad - Hating someone who turned you into a monster.
It's Not You, It's My Enemies - Being with your lover puts them in harm's way.
Consuming Passion - Cannibalism with sexy undertones.
Red String of Fate - Two characters are bound by fate to be together.
Arch-Enemy - The main villain of the story is usually (though not necessarily always) the primary nemesis of the main hero.
Interplay of Sex and Violence - Violence and sex happening around the same time as each other, or even using violence as foreplay.
Tumblr media
Card #3 - Revolution Through All In - (Angst Vibes)
Came Back with a Vengeance - You ruined my life and sent me away to rot in exile, but I'm back with new skills, a new identity, and a meticulous plan to destroy everything you love.
The Mistress - A woman whom a married man cheats on his wife with.
I Gave My Word - May indicate Honor Before Reason.
Wanting Is Better Than Having - Once you've gotten all that you've wanted, life becomes boring and unrewarding.

Awful Wedded Life - An unhappy and dreary marriage.
Reformed, but Rejected - A villain seeking redemption finds that no one trusts them.
Daddy Had a Good Reason for Abandoning You - A parent gives an excuse for why they left their child.
Descent into Addiction - A character's story arc involves them becoming dependent on a substance.
Am I Just a Toy to You? - A character confronts the other about how serious they think their relationship is.
Motive Decay - A villain gradually discards the reasons why they became evil in the first place, either losing their sympathy if they keep at it or give up their villainy after no longer caring about their Freudian Excuse
The Perils of Being the Best - Being The Ace has many prices to pay.
Success As Revenge - The best way to repay you for what you've done to me is by living a good life while you end up being miserable.
Accomplice by Inaction - You did nothing to save me from injustice even though you could. Therefore, I'm gonna end you!
Off the Wagon - A recovering alcoholic starts drinking again.
Tumblr media
Card #4 - All Out - (Burning Romance)
Rationalizing the Overkill - My revenge ended up going too far/causing collateral damage, but it was well worth it!
Devoted to You - A character who inspires obsessive devotion in those around them.
Victory Is Boring - A character succeeds, but doesn't know what to do afterwards.
Destructive Romance - A deeply unhappy and dysfunctional romantic relationship (sometimes to the point of being abusive).
Fate Drives Us Together - If two people keep encountering each other, it means they're meant to be together.
Ignored Epiphany - A villain considers redeeming themselves, then decides not to.
Loving a Shadow - Falling in love with the ideal of someone rather than the actual person.
Vengeance Feels Empty - I've successfully gotten my revenge... now I have no idea what to do.
Fully-Embraced Fiend - Someone turned into a vampire decides to embrace their transformation rather than fight it.
Grand Romantic Gesture - A big, elaborate event done for someone to show your love for them.
Conducting the Carnage - So what if the world is ending? I'm just going to stand here and move my hands like a conductor. Whatever.
He Who Fights Monsters - Because of my goal for revenge, I've become just like the bastard who harassed me. Good.
Fanatical Fire - YOU SHALL BURN!!!!
Flames of Love - Fire represents the passion in a relationship.
Burn Baby Burn - Destroying something with fire for a dramatic disposal.

HELLO NON-WRESTLING MUTUALS!
You've probably been wondering about all the stuff I've been posting, especially with the two in this video. Well, I'm about to do the most simplified explanation to celebrate an event I'm about to be in called the Strickpage StrikeOut!
To sum it up: these two have been in a feud for about a year and even though it's technically over with, they still haunt each other in everything that they do. They themselves have said that they are destined to fight each other and are going to carry each other for the rest of their lives. This feud lit a match and there have been many, many fanart, gifs, fanedits (whoo) and fanfiction over here!
If you want to learn more about this feud in greater detail, I highly recommend watching DropMickWrestling's video on the whole history (and honestly just subscribing because he does an amazing job with just letting the film speaks for itself instead of voiceover for a lot of his videos)
youtube
(also the song is called Weird by KAYTRANADA ft Durnad Benarra.)

Strickpage Strikeout #3

tropes in this segment: The Mistress, I Gave My Word, In Love with the Mark (free space), Accomplice by Inaction, The Perils of Being the Best, Daddy Had a Good Reason For Abandoning You

Coming off a fresh title defense, logically, he should focus on the next one.
…Those dastardly Elite have put a thought in his head, though. Blood & Guts, huh? Two rings, caged together, anything goes. The idea of getting his hands, again, on barbed wire, thumbtacks, staples– it warms his heart.
Nana asks him if he's sure. Swerve will admit: it's good to keep an advisor around. Yeah, he's sure. Nana says, well, what if you get hurt? What if Hangman wins the Owen?
Swerve has always shone under pressure. What's an affair with a cage going to change about that?
-
When Hangman calls his shot, he does it with a conviction so powerful it may as well become real around him. He's this close. Wembley is fingertips away– justice is fingertips away. All that stands in his way is Bryan Danielson– they've faced each-other before, but it's different, now.
He stares down the barrel of a camera, burning up with this righteousness. The fans chose Swerve, after all he's done, and it eats at him.
Fuck them. Fuck everything. Hangman gave his word; he's going to ruin Swerve. He's going to burn him alive. The biggest stage is for him.
-
They always talk about everlasting wrestling rivalries like love stories. Returns to form, soulmates, "they never missed a beat". Swerve always thought that was… tacky. Love is not what they're doing, love has never been what they were doing. Wrestling is the act of fighting your opponent until they can't get up, it's brutal, this entire industry crawls with fuck-you-me-first.
But even with the back of his head lit up in dull pain– maybe because of it– Swerve and Hangman lock eyes, rings away from each-other, and Swerve feels it. They were always going to return to each-other.
They collide.
-
It's all the Bucks's fault.
Team "Elite" lose at Blood & Guts. Hangman loses the Owen, and then he loses again to fucking Darby Allin. It's The Elite's fault, it's Darby's, it's fucking Renee Paquette's, it's the fault of every single godforsaken person in this building, talent or crew or fan.
It's all wrong. It doesn't matter, now– there's one last shot, one last ace up his sleeve. It's not gifted to him by the system, it's not a Joker. But it's his last chance. Flames lick at his heels, up his neck.
Swerve's going to pay. Damn this entire company.
-
On this card are, technically, two matches coming for his title.
Swerve can't say he's not nervous. There's something next to that, though; he'll call it clarity of purpose. He watches the Casino Gauntlet and its participants– new signings, borrowed talent, returning veterans. He sees Hangman. Of course he does.
He thinks idly about scenarios– who wins, what'll happen, who will be more satisfying to cash in on. The world title is a bounty on your head, after all. It's welcome weight, but it's weight.
Tonight, the American Dragon is coming to collect. For now, the camera focuses on Hangman.
-
His one last chance is gone. Christian Cage holds the chip, and however many fans there are in this stadium, they're all singing their lungs out to The Final Countdown. That's it.
Danielson isn't going to restore the World Championship. He doesn't respect it– all it is is one last grasp at success for a battered man on his way out, no matter how much of a legend he is.
He fights his way to ringside. He locks eyes with Swerve, and the sacrifices he's made all make sense. Danielson ensnares. Swerve taps.
It's the loudest thing in the world.

Strickpage Strikeout Day 1 fic!
I have uploaded my first fic entry for Strickpage Strikeout! I am mixing and matching cards because I'm too picky about prompts turns out.
It's entitled "Moment of Weakness." Check it out here for some #Hangmangst and post-breakup/deathmatch awkwardness.
Prompt is Vengeance Feels Empty:

@marq-lynch, thanks for putting this together and making me get off my ass to write a few damned words. More is on the way!

March is fast approaching, and that means Revolution, but even more exciting, the first StrickPage StrikeOut!
Dozens of you have expressed interest and excitement in participating in some way, from creating to commenting, which is a fantastic amount of momentum! But before any great new event comes Promo Week!
Could you use a bit of a boost to finish your last WIPs?
Want to get yourself and others excited about the event (and your works specifically)
Do you want the inside scoop on what everyone else is working on and spread the hype?
Post a couple sentences, a sketch, a clip, or even just a hint about the tropes you're intending to fill on your social media the week before the event starting Monday, February 2/24. Like the event itself there are no limitations on the ways you can choose to tease your works. Get creative with your promos!
Remember to tag your promo works #StrickPage StrikeOut (with the space) and follow the tag for the rest of the event!

Okay hear me out...
I may be addicted to running fandom events.
And I may have terminal 'thinking about them 24/7' disease and an agenda to get more art, vids, and most importantly number of fics in AO3 up so we can crack the top ten pairings for AEW.
But there are just over 8 weeks until Revolution and I can smell StrickPage coming back in the air with this Ricochet angle lately and the way Swerve has been posting.
So if people's excuses are 'it's a great ship I just don't have any prompt ideas' I will absolutely do a StrickPage StrikeOut Bingo card prompt challenge for the week before revolution, is that enough time?
If I get... Five people to respond (likes do not count) I will go all out baybee.

HAPPY FREAKING STRICKPAGE STRIKEOUT BABY!!!!
By the time this comes out, I will be deep into rodeo/Mardi Gras season but I had this in my mind for a good month as soon as I saw the cards. This was a really fun edit that I mainly tried to focus on words/symbolism through it all (and also not flashing my eyes out)
I decided to use a 90s song I had on repeat called Lost Ones by Ms. Lauryn Hill (who just changed her stage name while I was editing this) because it screamed everything All Out and beyond.
(Card spot Filled out: All Out, Wildcard and Vengeance Feels Empty)

Strickpage Strikeout #1
hey! i'm doing the strickpage strikeout! i've written a series of drabbles, one for each trope on the revolution card. i'll be posting them over the next [checks watch] three days, so here's the first batch of five! they're alternating POVs. yes, the pronoun game is intentional.
part one | part two | part three
tropes for this segment: Awful Wedded Life, Motive Decay, Am I Just a Toy to You?, Off the Wagon, Wanting Is Better Than Having
It's a new year; another day in the office. Hangman and Swerve lock eyes in January and agree, something they seem to do so rarely but increasingly, on one thing; Samoa Joe and the world title.
Hangman thought the first bout was the start of a friendly rivalry, and it's almost what it feels like, blow for blow, win for win. Swerve always knew it was something much more… idealistic.
As the weeks toil on, one thing is clear. They're pretty much equal: it's like they're made for each-other. The best man will win, rekindled marriage, found spark, or not.
-
Swerve all-but begs him for five more minutes, and Hangman comes unglued. He feels something changing in him, curdling at his core, or maybe it curdled a long time ago and he's only now realizing it. A Hangman from a year ago would grant his wish. The Hangman today just laughs.
He's snowblind by it. Swerve can't win. Hangman wouldn't survive it.
Hell, Swerve has cheated this entire time, his entire life. What's a little underhanded play of his own? The crutch cracks across Swerve's back, and he had to do it; Swerve can't win again. He couldn't take it.
-
It feels like every time Swerve gets any momentum, either Joe or Hangman find a way to stunt him. It was always going to be this way, but it's getting old fast; his first shot at the biggest championship in the game, and it feels like a farce. It's nice to watch Hangman cost himself near the middle, attacking the ref like a dumbass, but– but, what? Hangman taps. It's the loudest thing in the world, until the ring bell sounds. Swerve knows Hangman could've gone longer, he's choked him out before. It's like Swerve didn't even matter in this.
-
Suspension.
Samoa Joe retains, Swerve gets another title shot, and what Hangman gets is suspension. He watches the TV until it feels like he's watching his whole life through it, and he has to stop, but that distance doesn't dissipate.
He watches himself move furniture, hold his son, talk with his wife. They're moving out, obviously– he can see Swerve, behind his eyelids, dancing in their hallways.
One night, with his family gone, Hangman watches himself enter a liquor store. He watches himself sit down, in the shell of a living room, and pour a glass of whiskey.
It burns.
-
Swerve has always talked about pressure, but it's different now, larger, all-consuming. He takes his spot on the turnbuckles, lifts the championship high, and yells into the rain of confetti.
He finally did it. The crown jewel of his sport, his artform. It's real. It belongs to him. He rubs the leather between his fingers, appraising. He's the first champion of his kind. He's finally taken Hangman's spot in the pecking order.
… But Hangman is suspended. No doubt, he's seething at his new home– he checked, Hangman's moved.
Swerve imagines the look on Hanger's face, and feels a little better.

Day One of Promo Week for StrickPage StrikeOut! Have the first 30ish seconds of one of my spur-of-the-moment vids for the event.
I'm embracing the 'this event is about quantity of works not handcrafting a single quality masterpiece' mentality to practice churning out fanvids quickly and see if I improve or at least stay the same at the same pace!

Strickpage Strikeout Round 2!
My second Strickpage Strikeout entry (the only other one I have yet to finish. I am sorry I will work harder) is up! And it's. Well, it is cannibalism,
Hateful and Nourishing
The Full Gear card had "Consuming Passion" on there what was i gonna do NOT take the bait!
I hope this is to somebody's taste other than me, but I'll say as I always do when I come out with one of these: please heed the warnings, it's graphic and it's narsty and it's pretty non-consensual. Uh, enjoy!

Strickpage Strikeout #2
we're back at it again. strickpage strikeout, series of drabbles, here's the next five !!!
part one | part two | part three
tropes in this segment: Descent into Addiction, Success as Revenge, Career Versus Man, Reformed, but Rejected, Came Back with a Vengeance
One glass, as he's well aware, leads to many. Sometimes, the burn turns sweet– syrupy, nice, chaseable. Other times, it's bitter. All of it is overshadowed, anyway; Hangman knows he shouldn't be doing this.
Still, he watches. On bad nights, he watches himself, his old matches, WrestleDream with Swerve, the Golden Elite, the night he beat Kenny.
Sometimes, he imagines it; a match that goes right. What if he'd beat Swerve at WrestleDream? At Full Gear? What if he'd never lost himself at all?
He thinks about it more often than not. He doesn't like it. He pours another glass.
-
It's a revolving door of challengers, in and out the exact way they came in, and Swerve glows with it. He's the face of the company, he's the big dog, he's the champion. He's the top of the damn mountain, and everyone has to touch base with him, first.
He can't deny that half of the reason he's glowing is because he did it and Hangman didn't. Hangman doesn't occupy much of his thoughts, anymore, but sometimes he allows himself to thumb the plates of the belt, to slot his fingernail into a screw.
Swerve Strickland, in big letters. Success.
-
Sometimes, the worst times of all, he thinks about his family. His wife, his child. Every time he stands over his crib, looking down at his son, he thinks about Swerve. He's long since burnt the shirt he left, but he can still feel it, under his fingers.
He should be spending time with them. And every time he thinks about that, he hates himself more, but he can't not. He's stuck. Between his life and his job, between happiness and justice.
Who's he kidding? He only deserves one of those things, and he knows it.
Suddenly, his phone rings.
-
Will's lucky Swerve's his friend. If any other person, any other fucking person treated him with that same level of disrespect, he'd tear them a new one.
No. It's just Will. Cocky, overconfident, grasping-for-more Will– does he know? Does he know how much Swerve's gone through to get here, and Will thinks he can just pick it up off the ground after a cheap shot?
Swerve pokes at dark circles under his eyes. He traces the scar tissue on the back of his shoulder. He could ruin Will's life. He'll just settle for winning, the good guy that he is.
-
Swerve has the World Championship. The injustice of it makes Hangman's skin crawl. That belt is better than cheating, better than breaking and entering, better than any goddamn thing Swerve could have ever done in his life.
Hangman has a path, though. A plan. The Bucks have gracefully unbanished him, the corrupt sons of bitches they are– but they've stuck him in the Owen, too.
It might be the only good they're capable of doing.
He just has to win the tournament, and he'll get a shot at the world title. Swerve's in his sights. Something will be righted– fixed.

Chained and Bound
Strickpage StrikeOut continues on!! I did this one for Grand Romantic Gesture and Fate Drives Us Together on the All Out card!
Chains seemed to be the new permanent style throughout AEW now. It somehow started to pop up onto necks along with the bright colored bracelets surrounding the wrists. But with the risk of breakage at a wrong grab, there were more silver and gold necklaces around more often than not.
So it shouldn’t have been to no one’s surprise to suddenly see something small and golden resting on Adam’s. He was changing everything else in his wardrobe, and this was just a small little extra change to add on. To still somehow fit in the locker room despite no one coming towards him like they used to.
Except it wasn’t even a purchase he made.
Chained and bound until the end of time. That’s what was left tied to his bag along with a black box that he's never seen before halfway zipped up and sticking out, almost ready to drop off with a single push into it. Adam was more surprised no one has taken it at this point in the show. It was super light, light enough for him to almost drop it when he finally stopped staring rereading the words on the small card to grab the box. Which was longer than he expected it to be.
Why was he tempted to open it more than anything? He had no idea where it came from, who it might have dropped it—he had an idea that he was pushing to the back of his mind—how much it was. How much was this-
This unknown present that he's still letting rest in the palms of his hands. He was too old for secret admirers. But he was curious.
He's been running off of fear all this year, and it's gets to a point where he's tired of looking at everything through this lens, like everyone is out to get him. (Not that it wasn't at one point, but he doesn't have time to unpack that until next week.) For once, he wants some control back that wasn't out of something he knows he'll regret some parts of. He'll get a gift out of this, a free gift all dressed in black and gold—
A small breath of surprise. Gold, a precious material now laying out in front of him.
For some reason, his ears began to burn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bucks were the ones to wear jewelry around the ring, not him. He had enough of a target on his back with his hair like most of the locker room and he’s seen enough blood flowing through a once put together ear ripped by a silver piece to step away. A plastic band around his finger was the only thing he wore at all times.
So why a necklace? One that he's never was drawn to before it was literally stuffed into his life.
He spent half the night staring, looking, and once again holding the box trying to decide what exactly what to do. It was a loud message sent to him by the man that's been terrorizing his whole life for the past few months and Hangman was being stringed along with him. Even when he was trying to rest in a hotel room he ended up holed up in instead of marching home.
When he left that morning, the empty box was in his bag.
It took time to get used to having it on when he walks out. He wasn’t used to something being around his neck at all times, cold one minute then warming up to your skin. It was almost at a choke-hold more than sitting on his chest but the more he had it on, the quicker he got used to the connected loops and the weight around his neck got lighter as well. He left it on more often than not, forgetting about it until it got tugged either by his comb or by hands messing with it.
It was more his own hands fiddling with it usually, memorizing the loops keeping the jewelry surrounding his neck. A habit he picked up one day alone with his thoughts running around his head.  Every once in a while, when his mind drifts off a little too long, he finds that his thumb has wrapped it’s way around his necklace, sitting on the dark line where it bends. He usually pulls it back and let it touch everywhere else.
One day, he found himself trying to distract his mind from everything. He needed something to think about, anything. His thumb finds it like it always did, once again resting on the groove. This time, it gently tugs him down.
The deep chuckle he's gotten used to following him around was now next to his ear, the loops now pressing on his throat. "A bit small, but it works." It got tighter, and he couldn't stop the small gasp that came with it.
It made something roll down Adam’s back, and he snaps up with wide eyes.
He tried to ignore the rising burning feeling near his cheeks and ears.

happy birthday!! be honest, did you organize the strickpage strikeout starting today so you'd have a whole lot of birthday presents of your favorite boys... because it's working and i'm kicking my ass into gear to write things.
Thank you!
And yes, I have always been extremely open about the fact this has been a long-con to generate content for my 'small fandom but not quite rare pair yet still not enough fic or diversity of content' hyperfixation.
Sometimes you go nuts reading the same ten fics over and over, and gotta roll up your sleeves, teach yourself basic photo editing, and launch a guerilla campaign on the fandom all by your lonesome. It also works as a week to roll out before Revolution and I figured we'd have some fun stuff before a PPV.
Happy Birthday to Me. I'm delighted to see what you and everyone else comes up with!
As a side note, I have been swamped at work, and while I wanted to do two cards (one vidding one fic) I also have a couple other vids for Revolution I wanted to do that aren't StrickPage, so a reminder that while this week is the official StrikeOut, like all events I run this is Life Happens and ADHD friendly, and the AO3 collection will remain open until 3/31!

I had a video for the promo week, BUT I'm just adding the last touches to this edit I'm releasing next week, so here's a really quick snippit!
I decided at a certain point in my video to have cool color shade for Swerve and warm color shade for Hangman.

hi! thanks for the amazing bingo event. i have a question: what’s the strickpage forgotten first meeting?
Hi! Thank you, my god it is feeling TIMELY tonight, especially the vampire lore cards!
All prompts are based on TV Tropes, and I tried to pick ones that were open for interpretation, so for example if that one sparked a prompt or AU in your head go for it!
If you want to be a bit more canonical though, eight years to the day of the promo that kicked off this feud, Swerve must have spent two weeks in a coffin remembering a little eight man tag he did in an indie with a golden haired southern boy who liked to make some very dirty sounding promos:
