every episode of misfits and magic 2 that passes I’m just more and more aware of how Normal Guy jammer is, because everything around him is so fucking wild it emphasizes how much he’s just like. an american college kid. he literally just wants to play basketball and hang out, but instead he’s witnessing brutal magical murders on zero sleep. someone get my guy a protein drink, a nap, and a plane ticket back to chicago.

the problem is that they get along. the problem is that they can’t stop themselves from falling naturally into a rhythm of riffing off one another and enjoying the other’s company. THAT is the problem. the problem is that it works and that’s the thing that caused all their issues. they like one another. they just click.

the crazy thing is u can legitimately see wade wilson, the merc w a mouth, willingly choose to be gentle with logan — specifically after the fight/fuck in the car. because at first wolverine was just a thing to use. he was one of hundreds of thousands of logans in the multiverse, and he existed to save wade’s timeline. but logan saw right thru wade within hours of knowing him (and was able to hurt him). and in turn wade saw logan……they are very alike in a lot of ways. wade uses humor and logan his anger but they both have deep trauma (years of being seen as only killers, being turned into a “monster” by the government, suicidal tendencies), they both have self esteem and insecurities, they both feel like they don’t deserve to be loved or to be happy, they both struggle to trust. logan was called the worst wolverine and when wade realized why and how close it hit home w his own issues, it became oh. that’s not just a wolverine, that’s my wolverine. he’s wounded and he wants to die and he never wants another person to get close to his heart because god it hurts but at the same time he wants to live & love. and wade chose to be the one to bring him home & help him do so

May I present, my attempt at illustrating the last four pages of Tevinter Nights. 😁 (Also, the first time I'm posting art on here!)

As the whole thing was quite literally too long to post on tumblr, I uploaded the full version on a customized site made for reading webcomics (via ComicFury). On a personal note though, I can't believe I actually finished it... As it had been a *very* long time since I drew (and finished) anything, let alone a 31 page comic and reading Tevinter Nights again finally sparked my motivation (and the courage to post it lol). So I want to thank Patrick Weekes for helping me overcome this massive art block and over two decades of Case Closed mangas for inspiring me how to draw an overly dramatic "exposing the imposter" moment. 😂 I tried my best to be as faithful to the book as possible and it took me forever, so... hope you like it! :D

In the Middle Ages, being buried closer to the church was a privilege reserved for the most prominent, respected and wealthy members of society with nobility sometimes buried directly under the altar. This custom was carried to America and existed throughout the early colonial period, which is why you often see a line of tombstones resting almost against the church in old New England churchyards. There are also burials beneath the church in many cases.

earlier this year I started writing a comic about the siege perilous-grail quest situation after finally finishing the didot perceval, and it started circling around kay and perceval. kay as gatekeeper, taboo anxiety vs chivalry, and perceval not doing things "correctly," arthur's enduring affection for kay. that general area. also the horror of the grail quest itself.

this is comic is part of that narrative arc, so with THAT in mind: this is an abridged scene of a longer arc revolving around kay associating camelot with a cage, perceval's associations with jewelry and knighthood and the color red, and arthur's relationship with kay.

[some other scene context: perceval has injured his hand and can't participate in the tournaments, so he's craving some kind of fight. kay is disinterested in replying to this challenge, but he's not above reminding perceval of their first meeting. it's just mean enough in a weird-intimate kind of way that perceval's like, ok so we're doing the antagonistic version of court romance rituals. he picks up hunting because kay can't leave the castle.]
