wondering about this when you think about jon being the beholding’s very special favorite. Jon knowing everything and Martin refusing to know anything at all.

a very notable thing in the first chunk of s5 is how often martin restates that he doesn't want to think about anything. he doesn't want to think about jonah, he doesn't want to hear about the domains, he doesn't want to look at his surroundings, he doesn't want to make any choices, he just wants to book it to london as quickly as possible without having to come to terms with any of the apocalypse.
