everything about xion kingdom hearts is just. so incredibly transgender. she's a clone of a boy that develops an identity as a girl. her appearance to others is magically dictated by their interpretation of her identity. the female features she grows to prefer are only present when she is both mentally stable and either alone or around people who respect her chosen identity. the interpretation of others can override her own to the point where it changes her against her will, forcing her to constantly fight to be seen as herself. she is repeatedly called "it" by authority figures who go so far as to correct and mock others who call her "she." she is gentle and kind and means well but when her identity is questioned she either collapses in despair or lashes out viciously. she is given the choice between living as a boy or dying as a girl and she chooses to die. she is forced into being an antagonist not once but twice. she finally sees the boy whose appearance others kept imposing on her and goes fucking berserk and tries very hard to murder him. she is broken free from mind control and given back her preferred appearance because someone recognizes her under a forced featureless appearance and calls her by name.

At the time, did he simply dismiss it as another of her unintelligible superstitious talks? and the full brunt of what she meant is hitting him now? after she got impaled. after she couldn't defend herself in time. because HE made the mistake of not warning her about Taka!zuki, because of course, why would she ever make an enemy of X/Takamura or leave the Order and the world of assassins, and come help him, right?
