7 Things I Didn't Like About Final Fantasy VII
Every game has good and bad parts!
I recently shared 7 things I loved about Final Fantasy VII, and now I want to share 7 things I didnât like about this popular video game!
1. Too Many Mini-Games
PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP.
This was easily the thing I disliked the most! (I would even say hated.) There were way, way, WAY too many mini-games! They were all annoying and not fun. Okay, one comes to mind that was kind of fun: I liked climbing the wintery mountain and having to take breaks to âwarm upâ. That one wasnât too bad, I could live with it.
The snowboarding one (which was right before the mountain climbing mini-game) was extremely frustrating; at one point I got stuck and could not back out of a corner but, after a lot of button smashing, I managed to get out of there. Whew!
The submarine mini-game? Horrible. (I could not tell what the main objective was!) The mini-battle thing at Fort Condor? Confusing! Chocobo Racing? Not fun AT ALL. Okay, Iâll stop. I disliked them all and they made me want to quit the game many times.
2. The Storytelling Was Bad
Very interesting story, but in my opinion, bad storytelling. Most of the time I was just confused. đ
In my previous post I wrote that I really liked the lore and history of FFVII. That is still true! I think FFVII has great game lore, history, and even story, but I wasnât a fan of how the storytelling was done.
What I mean is, I didnât like how the story jumped from present to past, or from hallucinations to reality. While timeline shifts are completely okay, the ones in this game werenât executed in a clear manner.
I was confused about the truth and how much the characters knew. Some (like Tifa) seemed to know more but they werenât giving us any clear answers. (It was very frustrating.)
Unfortunately, there were many points in my gameplay where I just wanted to desperately finish the game to find clarity.
I wrote a tweet saying, âIf FF7 OG were a book, Iâm definitely at the part where Iâm just confused and want the story to be over because I have questions & need answers!â and thatâs exactly how I felt.
This is the first time I play a FF game where I actually WANT the game to be over sooner rather than later.
3. Certain Characters Were Annoying
Iâm looking at you, Yuffie and Cid.
I thought I was going to like Yuffie, but sheâs such a brat! I used her in my party until I got to Cosmo Canyon. While sitting by the fire, she said she wanted to leave because it was a dump with no materia. Cid is a character I kinda like, but also dislike. He is very mean to Shera and thatâs what made me dislike him immediately. I think he actually cares about Shera, but HE decided to stop the mission, not Shera. HE decided to save her life. Heâs allowed to feel upset that his dream didnât come true, but that doesnât give him the right to be mean to someone who was just trying to help.
4. The World Map Sucked
Are location names too much to ask for?
The map was so annoying! I had no idea what any place/location name was and I couldnât remember their spot on their map, so trying to find where to go next was tough. I liked the world map area (and the music!), but I didnât like the actual world map. It definitely needs a key and location names!
5. Cloudâs Cloudy Past
Talk about confusing!
I thought Cloud was so cool, but⊠heâs basically a phony? During the beginning of the game, Cloud uses Zackâs memories to describe his past. Sure he âwas thereâ in most/all of the scenes, but things didnât happen as he said they did. (Or maybe they DID? I donât know, this is why I say the storytelling is confusing!)
I didnât hate the ânicerâ Cloud we meet at the end (I liked him!) but I didnât like the complete character shift. Itâs one thing to develop naturally as a character, itâs another for characteristics to be completely wiped away in an instant just because. This felt like a âjust becauseâ move and I wasnât feeling it.
6. The Timing of A Death
I hate to see you go⊠so soon.
For one, I am sad she died because sheâs a great character. I enjoyed using her in battle. I think it makes sense (for the story) that she died so Iâm not mad she died⊠I just think she should have died later in the game. This would have given us more time to use her in battle, and I think her death could have had a greater impact if it was at the end. shrug
7. Sephiroth
I don't get it, him or any of it. đ€·ââïž I think I could like him/understand him more once I play more of the other FF7 games and/or watch Advent Children.
I didnât understand Sephiroth or his story, therefore I didnât like anything about him. I actually hated seeing him so much during the game because Cloud makes it seem like weâre off to fight him but then we go a completely different route. shrug I think my indifferent feelings towards him can be blamed on the bad storytelling.

Just a quick question but what often gets you inspired?âš
Oh boy ehhhhhh - here we go to the never ending rabbit hole!!
Sometimes small things gets my attention like e.g. squirrels paws, unique red face of a person at a cold day or seeing chair upside down on icy lake (honestly I am now working on long comic about trolls inspired by that chair).
Comic art and animations inspires me greatly! Lately I have been inspired by animations gems like the thief and the cobbler, treasure island from 1988 (and other Soviet Union animations) and the king and the mocking bird. The animation process fascinates me greatly, how can one make smooth and imaginative animations is wonderful! I can't get enough of it all.
Also concept of kindness inspires me greatly. I have gone throw...lets say a lot. I love stories that show kindness where it is needed, e.g. Tove Jansson's story of invisible child. The child was bullied by their family so much that they turned completely invisible and lost their own voice, eventually they found confidence and selfworth in themselfs thanks to kindness of Moomins. I want my feelings to be seen and heard but sometimes world or people are overwhelming. Kindness is important, otherwise we will fall apart or at least I do. I am still on my way to be kind and understanding of myself and othets but those qualities are more important to me than ever.
Couple weeks ago I started to collect stuff that inspires me or I find interesting. I will list most of them below. If I am not saying anything about certain box, it means I enjoy the show/comic/meme/animal but cannot put my finger on why. Usually those make me smile and give new pespective about life. Somethings might be there twice because I am forgetful baboon!
Junji Ito's horror comics are visually out of this world! But my fav is his humorous comic about his cats. It was so different from his other comics that I fell in love with it.
Emma manga made by Kaoru Mori. Usually I can't stand romantic stories but the characters but the story and the art works perfectly together in her comics.
Comics and animations of @cecameron are gorgeus and fun!
Tove Jansson's books, comics, art and life in general.
Rainbow Road from Muppets is my favourite song and I wish it would be played at my funeral one day. Its hopeful song that fills me with joy.
Entranta from Shera. She never gives up, I wanna be like her! I wanna see failure is part of the process and helps me get further little by little + its nothign to be shamefull of.
Ponyo's fathers frustration is relatable, also the whole movie is wonderful and colorful. Its maybe my favorite ghibli movie.
Scarr my beloved weirdo! The image was in the tarot pack of the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy and he is of course the hermit (which is my personality card)
@deep-dark-fears comics surprise me by giving new ideas to express fear.
Hugo Simberg was Finnish artist at 1900's. Symbolism and sympathetic characters of devils and death has inspired me since I was 8 years old.
Treasure planet is one of my favourite disney movies. The father son relationship between Silver and Jim is great and makes me cry everytime.
Hypnopotamus and Warren Stone from ROTTMNT. Their relationship is wholesome and inspiring + the show itself is fun, full of action and passion! I love it!
Tintin comics are almost religious in my family. It was one of the first comics I saw different from different parts of the world and how tintin could become friends even the most oddest (looking at you captain Haddock) people is marvellous.
The penguin my belowed â€â€â€
Mörkövahti is Finnish children book that accidentally inspired me greatly. The world of troll like creatures, magical elements in the story and research of the creatures made me fall in love in the world of the books. I often love to read books for kids or teens, they are more interesting and I don't have to fear to be faced with rape, sexism and other nasty stuff.
Stop motion animation and expecially Arman animations have been always part of my life. I have soft spot for the pirates movie thanks to it's humor, naivety and animation style.
Adventure time is one of my favourite series and couple of things stuck with me. Some people are build different, you don't have to understand it but you need to respect them. I love this idea greatly and I try to live by it.
Pinsir is my favourite pokemon and it says a lot.
Mr Pogo and other smart ape characters inspire me greatly. No wonder new planet of the apes trilogy is part pf my movie collection. I am not sure why I love smart apes as characters but it always works.
Wander over yander whole concept is to be kind and help people out, I love it.
Peto was made for me by @elle-eedee at lgbtq trolls discord server. Peto ended up becoming my ultimate comfort character and I love to draw him and make stories for him. I loved the way elle-eedee combined my favorite things to create him †also their colorful art inspires me everyone I see it.
@alioutfit blog is blog of style choices of man named Ali. I want to find my own style like Ali.
The murder she wrote is nostalgic for me and I wanna get into that series again! The fact smart older woman is the main focus inspires me. I love Agatha Christi stories too so it checks out.
Hugs + rottmnt. I love hugs and the show has a lot of good hugs!
Don Rosa's Donald Duck comics are the best! Those who don't know, Donald Duck comics are big in Finland!
Heikko Peikko (meaning Weak Troll) was stop motion animation series in Finland at 70's. Its wonky, basic and charming story of Heikko Peikko's everyday life.
The meme that made me less depressed
@foxing_around had wonderful comic that made me think over my friends over my sad ass.
Squirrels, I like them a lot. They remind me of my grandpa who loved forest and nature.
My sandwich with a face
Monsters petting each others! My friend has a lot of arkham maddness board games that comes with monsters. I like to play with the figurines, they are so lovely monsters!
Concept art of toothless from how to train your dragon. Why toothless couldn't look like this little ugly thing??? I would have loved him from bottom of my â€
Kingdom of lonely bananas sign was at supermarket. Little imaginative ideas like these are great.
Pasila series is good stuff, it was said to be Finnish South Park.
My photo of snail â€
WoY faces are glorious
The snow queen movie from 1957 gives me live. Its one of my favourite Soviet Union animation movie.
My photo of my special secret place at summer
I know only these two from Transformers comics and their love is wonderful. Truly I haven't read the comics...I wish I could tho!
Sherlock Holmes books are awesome
New ducktales series had so many characters from the comics I couldn't believe it at first! Finally I had my favourite characters like Fethry on the show!
I love odd looking animals because I am one too
Animal Crossing is a game I thought I would never play. It looked like a baby game when my big bro gave the it to me at the time gamecube was new console. He bought it because it had a memory card and he know nothing about the game. I tried it and never looked back â€
The ping pong animation is my favourite animation series from Japan. I got the manga even I can't read it since it's straight from Japan. It's more about the lifes of the characters and how they grow as people than the game itself (or at least it feels like it). The story feels real in a way, that the characters are three dimensional and their reactions are natural. Some charachters stop developing as players, some loose interest completely, some work hard to be the best, some forget why they played in the first place and some found new ways to live their lives. The story is good for my soul.
Comic of @catmilks made me realise there are other people like me. The feeling of the comic is relatable and hopeful, things will pass and life goes on + make sure you take care of yourself.
Comics of @ stuffnoonetoldme made me reflect my life and how I see myself.
@diva-humon has good points of life. I realised I have very christian way of thinkin even I am not religious or have ever been part of any religios.
Suomenlinna, I loved it!

SheRa/ATLA/SWRebels
(Hoooo boy, this got away from me, but itâs a lot of fun and I couldnât stop!)
Modern College AU:
Kallus, Zuko, and Catra are friends that are hanging at the local collegeâs bar. Became friends via a group project in a class and realized they all could be friends that are BAMFs.
Zuko/Aang
Catra/Adora
Kallus/Zeb
How the pairings got together:
ZukoAang
A simple Zuko was the angry loner and Aang tried to friend him at first and lashed out viciously no matter how hard Aang tries to the point Zuko is getting to violently aggressive. After Iroh gets custody of Zuko, since Ozai was declared to be unfit for raising children, the kid ends up doing time out of the toxic idea of what honor is. Gets out and gets himself a good therapist to help him heal from fucked up bullshit that Ozai put him through. Meets Aang again at the university, everything is awkward and strained on Zukoâs side, but Aang... heâs patient. Always so patient and forgiving no matter what. Zuko canât help but fall in love. Thankfully, Aang has more balls than than Zuko and confesses first, much to Zukoâs absolute surprise. (The boy is DENSE, OKAY.) Panic happens, not because he doesnât reciprocate, but how can AANG like him?! Cue a month or two of Aang patienceÂźïž being stretched THIN, a therapist being exasperated and just wanting this boy to love another boy wholeheartedly, and then... of Zuko quakenly taking Aangâs hand and saying he doesnât feel like heâs earned it, but he still wants him. SWEET ROMANCE AND COMMUNICATION THROUGH TOUGH TIMES AND INSECURITIES ON BOTH SIDES.
CatraAdora
Catra is 100000% someone who fell in with the wrong crowd (gang??) that Adora was apart of too. (Both grew up in a foster home of some sort) Adora realizes that this group is fucked up even though theyâve been with them for waaaay too long and bounces with the help of Bow and Glimmer. Tries soooo many times to get Catra to believe it too, but shadow weaver/Prime (w/e) have their claws too deep. Adora, With the help of Primeâs twin brother, Hordak, who got out because of his nerdy science geek girlfriend Entrapta, helped her see sheâs better than that...better than the end of that bottle sheâs desperate to drink enough so Catra can ignore the abandonment and hatred that fills her every day. Adora keeps fighting and says itâs what she has to do, no matter what. Cue a massive Gang fight that they both barely get out of, bodies bloodied and bruised, but theyâre ALIVE. Oh my god theyâre alive and Catra canât help but wheeze out an I love you... of which Adora absolutely cries and hugs the life out of Catra shouting that she loves her too!! A loooong battle uphill with recovery (and how Kallus gets to know Catra better) but itâs worth it. Going to college and loving each other and GETTING TO LIVE THEIR LOVE!
KallusZeb
So, Kallus being the biggest dumbass got stupidly drunk and behind the wheel. Actions have consequences, and sadly that means he hit a car dead on, instantly killing the family inside... Zebâs entire known family. Nooow, Kallus definitely did time for the drunk driving accident, just not as much as Zeb believed he deserved. Somehow theyâre going to the same university/college, and no doubt Zeb is ENRAGED. Kallus on the other hand is finally starting to accept his responsibility for the death of Zebâs family, and is absolutely ashamed of it of course, but heâs not going to kick himself until heâs nothing but a pile of guilt ridden anxiety (his nightmares do that enough). Heâs actively trying to become a counselor or advocate for responsible drinking and driving (something like that). He accepts Zebâs rage, but wonât cower from it.
Only reason Zeb starts to soften is he one finds out Kallusâ intentions annnnd Thrawn was being an absolute dick at a party to Kallus. (Not sure how far I want to take it... maybe trying to slip something into his drink for date rape or beating the shit out of him or SOMETHING, idk.) ANYWHO, Kallus and Zeb start hanging out and once some massive pining over a year happens, Zeb takes Kallus to meet his family (whether itâs his long lost grandmother and uncle or the family grave, something) ZEB ASKS THE GUY OUT WHICH HAS KALLUS A MESS AND HAPPILY SOBBING YES. ROMANCE WITH PLENTY OF MISCOMMUNICATION AND THEN COMMUNICATION, AND POSSIBLY ALCOHOL RELAPSE AND BREAK UP AND THEN A GET BACK TOGETHER THATâS EVEN BETTER THAN BEFORE.
Bar Buddies!!
Every time they go to hang out at their local bar, Kallus is the designated sober person all the time since he canât bring himself to ever drink again after the accident and his rehabilitation incident.
Most of the time itâs nothing but laughs and plenty of stories, but once in a while itâs melancholy and full of comfort for any of them who need it. Who need to know that although they walk with demons, they also walk with friends who care. Often they barely get tipsy, all three of them knowing how dark alcohol can make all of them. But a night like tonight, where a nightmare of a project has yielded amazing results... the future looks a fraction brighter than usual. To them, the celebration is absolutely amazing with loud relief and excitement.
Maybe too much excitement in Kallusâ opinion. Especially once Catra loses her shirt and Zuko starts to sing at the top of his lungs... of which Kallus has NO DESIRE to even try and comprehend the drunken slurring. He isnât as young as the both of them (five years can really make a difference...). Luckily enough, he has both Adora and Aang in a group chat for occasions such as this.
Zuko is really blushy and cuddly and loves that Aang came in his favorite âhole-yâ shirt (think skater top with biiiig arm holes that Zuko gets to stare lovingly at Aangâs side abs) to pick up his boyfriend with their their shepherd dog Appa. Aang just sighs fondly and bids everyone a energetic goodbye as Zuko drapes himself over his bald, tattooed lover heading down the sidewalk.
Catra is LOUD. She doesnât give two fucks about anyone in here... except for the blonde floof of hair that sheâs currently messing up while Adora laughs brightly while carrying her crazy girlfriend out of the bar in a firemanâs hold. Adora has guns and is a massive amount of hot lesbian. Catra keeps saying how much she loves the hair poof of her big buff jock girlfriend SO LOUD. YOU HERE THAT ASSHOLES, SHE GOT HER JOCK AND HER JOCK LOVES HER BACK. Adora snickers saying how much sheâs gonna hate herself come the morning.
Kallus isnât expecting Zeb to be waiting outside of the bar, but softly smiles at his big hunk of a ratty boyfriend. Zeb snorts at the display of younger students and their partners while throwing an arm around Kallusâ shoulders. FOREHEAD KISSES ABOUND! One of Kallusâ hands goes in butt pocket and the other interlaces with the dangling hand off of his shoulder. They walk back to their apartment making comments about the younginsâ and how theyâre good people etc etc.
KalluZeb have loving tender sex that night, AangZuko cuddle through the night and have sweet morning sex (even though Zuko does wake up with a hangover, but Aang has a special herbal [DISGUSTING] remedy that never fails) and CatraAdora cuddle through the night as well only to have Catra have a massive hangover and puking her guts out most of the morning, but her big jock girlfriend loves on her allllll day. END.

Unpopular FF Opinion
Sephiroth isnât a good person just because heâs âso hot!!!! UwUâ
Love him all you want, but he wasnât a good pure marshmallow cinnamon roll boy some people make him out to be. Heâs an interesting character, but he did horrible things that canât just be swept under the rug. If Sephiroth somehow came back for good, and suddenly switched from âIâm going to summon Meteor and become a godâ to a hero, no one would accept him as a friend, ally, or good person. And even if someone did, it sure as hell wouldnât happen for awhile. Sephiroth tried to kill everyone on several occasions. Heâs made a kebab out of Cloud twice, murdered Tifaâs father, and nearly killed her minutes later, destroyed Cloud and Tifaâs hometown, and murdered Aerith. Yet a lot of people ignore this, and so we get a lot of fanfics and fan art where Sephiroth shows up and everyoneâs immediately cool with it.
âOh yeah, you burnt my hometown to the ground, nearly killed my childhood friend, nearly killed me, murdered countless innocent people, killed one of my best friends, and nearly destroyed the planet, but yeah, itâs cool. Lemme buy you a beer.â
If Sephiroth showed up claiming to be a good guy, none of the main cast would give a shit. Theyâd attack him on sight.
And this isnât an attack on any ships, or Sephiroth as a character. I genuinely like Sephirothâs story and can see why people love him. In fact, Sephiroth was awesome before he freaked out and went on a killing spree. I loved him in Crisis Core.
But he isnât a good person.
Yes, we can understand why he went crazy and started to hate everything, because weâve seen his backstory. We know what made him snap. But that doesnât excuse his actions. Heâs not an innocent sunshine boy who did nothing wrong.
And thatâs something thatâs extremely annoying about fandoms, especially FFVIIâs fandom.
If youâre pretty, you can get away with things.
Take Reno for example. Heâs one of my favorite characters, and I love him.
But heâs a fucked up character.
Advent Children kind of made the Turks out to be nothing but the comedic relief. Reno and Rude specifically. Which probably contributes to a lot of people thinking that Reno did nothing wrong.
This is the guy who Mufassaâd Don Corneo off a mountain, set the bomb that destroyed Sector 7, killing millions in the process, and chased after Aerith for years, trying to drag her back to the ShinRa. But apparently, because he looks like THIS
itâs all okay.Â
Reno ainât a âsexy widdle babyâ who does no wrong. So donât act like it. I love him, but heâs done HORRIBLE things.
Another perfect example of âpretty bois are perfect in every wayâ is Vincent. Now I love Vincent to death. Heâs one of my absolute favorites.
But heâs fucked up too!
Vincent was a Turk. The Turks do some pretty shady stuff. Assassinations, kidnappings, etc. Who knows how many people he killed when he was a Turk. Not to mention, Vincent canonically walked away from innocent people getting kidnapped/murdered in Dirge of Cerberus.
But hey. He looks like THIS
so iTâS aLl OkAY
Itâs seriously annoying how wrong doings are just tossed out the window because a character is pretty. Sephiroth, Reno, Vincent, they get special treatment because theyâre pretty boys.
But guy characters who arenât conventionally pretty, or lady characters in general, oh ho, if they do something wrong, theyâre THE W O R S T.
Take Cid for example.
When you first meet Cid in the OG, heâs extremely stressed out. His dreams were previously crushed, making him spiral into anger and depression. Heâs pissed at himself because he had to THINK about choosing between saving Sheraâs life or going through with the launch to achieve his dream of making it to space. He hesistated to save his friendâs life. Shera even tells us that Cidâs ânot normally like thisâ when he's acting up in his introduction. Heâs freaking out because Rufus is on his way, and the President is his only hope of getting the Space Program going again.
But no, because Cid shouts at her (he shouts at everyone, wtf are you people on), heâs the worst. An awful person. A sexist abusive asshole who doesnât deserve to live.
OOH, bad man say mean word to woman. Sheraâs clearly a victim who must be saved from this disgusting brute.
Seriously? Where are you people getting this? Shera CHOSE to stay with Cid, guilt complex or no. When it turns out she was right about the oxygen tanks, Shera doesnât rub it in Cidâs face. And Cid doesnât fucking badmouth Shera. He yells at her, just like he yells at E V E R Y O N E. And he does so with more aggression when heâs stressed, like when you first meet him.
Iâm not excusing Cidâs actions, or Sheraâs. The whole point of this post is âdonât excuse a characterâs actions just because you love themâ. But Cid is constantly trashed, berated, spat on, and misjudged, mainly because heâs not pretty like Vincent, Sephiroth and many other anime looking FF boys. Cid shouldnât have taken his anger out on Shera by yelling at her. But heâs not an awful person.
Heâs just a big dorky space gay who wants his goddamn tea.
Now onto another character who gets a ton of undeserved hate: Lucrecia.
Like many characters in FFVII, Lucrecia made some big fucking mistakes. But hey.
WHO THE FUCK DOESNâT?????
There isnât a single main character in this game who hasnât made at least ONE mistake. But oh, because Lucrecia is extremely emotional and not a pretty anime boy, sheâs unforgivable, horrible, and deserves to be spat on for existing.
Guys, Lucrecia apologizes time and time again, and even tries (and fails) to kill herself she feels so bad about what she did. She regrets experimenting on her baby and she feels at fault for what happened to Vincent.
But hey.
SHeâS nOT a pRettY bOI sO iTâs aLl OkAy
The point Iâm trying to make here is this.
Sephiroth (and most of the pretty men in FFVII) are constantly being woobified and forgiven of literally all their wrong doings just because of their looks, and itâs stupid. Theyâre forgiven for mass murder for godâs sake. Donât you think thatâs at least a little fucked up???
Iâm not hating on characters. Iâm hating on shitty representation. And portraying Sephiroth as some heroic hottie who Did No Wrong is stupid and inaccurate.
So love Sephiroth all you want. But donât forgive him for murder just because heâs pretty.
#leave cid alone please#lucy too#they're often berated just for existing#and it's annoying#pretty boys fuck up too#ffvii#long#rant#throw#sephiroth#reno#reno of the turks#vincent valentine#cid highwind#lucrecia crescent#salt

Everything I remember form my dream last night was connected through one long apocalyptic story arc.
It started out with markiplier playing the newest fnaf game, where you had to hide from Freddy in an environment wita fixed camera angle. He died several times before he got to the next area, which was a giant orc, then maybe a giant fish, and then to the next area, the gates outside a castle, where you had to get past a knite. I had to get into the castle and get past an army of guards to eventually defeat the queen. Onlingside this, I was switching back and forth between that and my ânormalâ life, where I had a pet spider and went to art classes and my mom was pregnant. In the castle, we eventually figured out that the way to end the game wasnât to kill the queen, but to unlock something. So on our next try getting through the guards, me and the other girl I was with (and we were both bunnies) instead ran into a side corrador and blocked the entrance with a long dining table. I stuck my ear in her ear, thinking that was how we unlocked the puzzle and could fall in love, but it didnât work. We decided that the safest bet was to stay put, since you didnât have to reset the area unless you died. We heard sounds coming from a room in the corrador, and saw memories of the people that lived in the castle. At this point my real life and castle life started becoming one. My mom has given birth to 3 blind triplets, and I saw memories of the queen living in the castle through the years, raising her blind triplets, until she fell ill. Then we snuck around the corner and saw her in her room, laying in bed, hardly breathing. She was sick with corona. We fled to another room where we found the king. He was a akin to a black cat. He was sitting on the floor, hugging his knees and facing the wall. We talked to him, and he tried telling us some warrior cat stuff, like how kits are all born with pink-tipped tails and gained their black patterns with age. He talked to us and opened up about his life and his wife, and we said we wanted to help, asking if he was tired of 90 days of this. He got up and we all hugged him and he pushed the dining table out of the way. I was several of the princesses from shera, and we all had to break out of the castle to higher ground. It turns out we were in the future, and this was all a big experiment zone by the government that they planned to get rid of with a big volcano that was about to blow. We busted through the outer wall and perfuma used her plant powers to get us to the top. Frosta said she was bending really well, and she said something about how youâre at your most powerful protecting the people you care about. We had to find the rest of the princesses and get out. On the outside, everything was dystopian and it was the year 2088 or something and everything looked relatively modern. We landed outside the castle and there was a fence around everything and a huge army of law enforcement outside. Inside the fence, there was a dude in a sweatshirt, and when we tried to convince him of everything that was happening, he didnât believe me, I was Aang and did some air bending to convince him I was the avatar. I honestly donât remember how this dream ends, because my brother rang the doorbell so I went to open the door but he opened it anyway and when I got back to bed I thought about a shera avatar AU

***Spoiler Review***
Whatâs up everyone! Welcome to Beyond The Panel. Coming at you today with talk about How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Season One! This was another series that I found myself now able to binge through, and was not disappointed one bit with the entertainment it provided. Now I should say that this is one I did tend to have reservations for at first. Normally it is not my thing to prioritize seeing something from the harem genre. Sometimes itâs not a problem, other times it can be too much. What made or killed this one for me was always going to be how they found a middleground.
Off the bat, this was a series which grabbed my attention because I can admit that I am weak towards any series that embraces the realm of fantasy. From the start they established how heavy the elements of fantasy would play into this story, and that made every experience quite unique. What did manage to catch me off guard about this one was how there was no focus on trying to escape this world either. In most cases the main character is trying to get our of their situation, and that was not Diablo here. He got trapped into this world, and the from there they jumped right into integrating him into the world around him. This kind of approach I enjoyed much more because it left much more openness to how the story progress rather than moving in a straight line towards one end goal. So with that said, the plot more so involved things which mattered to this world. Things like getting the Demon Lord of this world out of Rem, helping Shera to forge a path as her own person, removing their slave collars, and in general trying to make it as adventurers. Things like this mattered more, and it was hard to argue with any of that when it in turn made the experienced more immersive.
The cool thing about this series is where they create a challenge for a character like Takuma Sakamoto (Diablo). Normally of course the main character would be overpowered. Not only this, but in most cases able to breeze through every obstacle thrown at them. Where they shake things up here is the fact that even with all that power, this did not prepare Takuma for the things that were different about this world. Some things worked differently in relation to the game. Some solutions required him to be able to think outside of the box or rely on other skills which did not involve being the strongest guy in the room. Aside from that, Diablo was very well written as the main character. For as much as he struggled to escape the personality of his character, you had to love the wisdom he had to share. Never came out the way he wanted it to, but the words themselves mattered more for what he was able to say to people who needed o get out of a certain headspace. At the core he was seeing people who needed to break free of the cages that life put them in, and that made it easy to relate to them on different levels.
Even Rem and Shera were written very well too. On the surface you couldnât seem much about them that you could have taken seriously, but as the journey progressed with them, there was so much to explore that we werenât seeing on the surface. The pain of isolation, the suffering from being forced to live a life without choice. These were two consistent themes which they represented excellently, while at the same time in their own way redefining what it means to be a hero. This goes double for Rem in particular who shocks you for the sacrifice she proves capable of in the darkest moment of the season.
Aside from them, other supporting cast did stand out here and there. Nothing too notable in contrast to those three, but it went a long way that there wasnât many in their orbit who didnât have a story to tell. They each found different ways to offer some depth to the story to create honest interactions.
When it came to the action, I found myself very satisfied with what came of most battles. Even for as powerful as Diablo was, we got to see many spells from him, and all of them working in different ways to give him some sort of advantage over someone else. In fact, I loved that they went the extra mile to also show what someone like him was capable of when relying on physical skill just to create even battles. This kept a lot of exchanges from being too decisive, which in turn allowed others to offer something visually captivating for what they could do.
Now obviously if there was one thing we could not dodge about this one, it was the explicit nature that was indulged in. Like I said above, itâs not normally my thing to prioritize seeing something from the harem genre. This I do have to say got a bit uncomfortable at times. Many things happening would leave you constantly questioning the age difference between Diablo, Rem, and Shera. Lets not even get to the line they were treading with the reveal of the actual Demon Lordâs true form. Either way, I did appreciate that despite this, they did not allow those moments to overshadow much of what was actually genuine about this series. Everything I said that was so endearing about the series could have easily been smeared by too much that you thought was gross. Fortunately they consistently found a middleground which didnât make it tasking to overlook what wasnât necessary.
All in all, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord season one is impressive for the kind of story it is. This could have been just like all the others out there, and yet finds itself memorable for everything compelling that you can only see by giving it a chance. Ending this I should say to anyone who hasnât gotten the news yet; A second anime season by Tezuka Productions and Okuru to Noboru has been announced and scheduled to premiere in 2021. That should be something to look forward to!

Thursdayâs Child: Three metro siblings ready to find parents to be their biggest fans
KANSAS CITY, Mo. â If youâve been watching FOX4 for decades, you may remember a segment from the 1980s and â90s called Thursdayâs Child.
We met with foster kids in the metro who wanted to find a family, and now weâre bringing it back.
Each month, FOX4âs Sherae Honeycutt will introduce to you to kids and teens in our community who are hoping to meet people they may one day call their parents.
In Jackson County there are dozens of kids and teens waiting to find a family.
This month we want to introduce you to 15-year-old Spirit, 10-year-old Angel and 6-year-old Dez. They hope someone out there will want to love them forever.
We spent the day with the kids at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Artâs âArt Courseâ where they lived up to their names.
The siblings have been in and out of foster care for nearly 10 years, which means for some of them thatâs most or all of their lives. Theyâre ready to find a family that will be their biggest fans.
Spirit just started her freshmen year of high school and loves to run track and field.
âIâm bored or I donât have anything to do, I just go out and I start running. It keeps me in a good spirit,â Spirit said.

However, her favorite thing to do is to keep people smiling, especially her siblings and classmates.
âI tell them donât give up,â Spirit said. âKeep trying. I help people when they fall or when they have low self esteem or they donât have encouragement or anything or when theyâre sad. Iâll go to them and tell them everything will be OK.â
She thinks school is challenging but loves to learn, and good grades are important to her. She said sheâs happiest when sheâs at school. When she grows up, she wants to own her own business and hopes to run track and field in college.
Angel is in the fifth grade. She loves to talk and play, but what she loves most is to cook â especially mac nâ cheese.
âA lot of cheese, and donât put a lot of milk in it,â Angel said.
She said someday she wants to not only be a chef, but own a 17-story food hall.
âOne floor is going to have all meats; another floor is going to have all vegetables; another floor is going to have all fruits; another floor is going to have all drinks,â Angel said. âOh, weâre going to have to have two floors for the drinks.â
âShe has so much confidence in her,â Spirit said. âI feel like she should keep that in her for the rest of her life.â
She loves to go to restaurants and try all kinds of food. Angel also likes to be creative and make up her own recipes. She said sheâs happiest when sheâs in the kitchen.
Her favorite subject in school is reading, and sheâs proud of her grades in school.

Dez just started the first grade. He loves to talk and joke with his sisters. He wants to be a pastor someday when he grows up and loves going to church.
He likes to play with toys â especially the drums. He loves to learn and his favorite subject is math. Heâs working on addition right now.
They also have an older sister whoâs getting ready to start college and wouldnât be adopted, but will be part of the childrenâs lives.
The kids would like parents that are kind people who would support them in the things they like to do and help them experience life.
For Spirit, someone who could support her emotionally as she grows up and cheer her on from the sidelines at her track meets. For Angel, someone who would cook with her and have fun in the kitchen. And for Dez, someone who will help him grow and love him unconditionally.
They hope to be adopted together and stay in the metro area.
âI donât want them to go through the same things that we did. I want them to have a better life than we did when we were little,â Spirit said. âI want them to be able to go to school and say I have a mom and dad. Donât be sad and say I donât have a mom and dad.â
Thank you for supporting Thursdayâs Child because all children deserve a family.
