EXACTLY- which is why I love Cukatail >:3
Tumblr media
Muscular women are hot as fuck, I'm a woman so, yup, we ain't weak, WE ARE STRONG.
We did not give birth to have people call us weak, WE NEED TO STAND UP, AND RE-CLAIM OUR TITLE! CMON WOMEN OF TUMBLR, LET'S GOOOOO!!!
the way we police bodies in our modern era is just insane to me. like for example i'm thinking about muscles. literally everyone has them. why are muscular bodies "masculine"? every single person on this earth has muscles and can have them be in any size and tone. like, have you ever met or seen a woman who's a carpenter? a construction worker? a farmer? a warehouse or factory worker? an athlete? a firefighter? an emt? a powerlifter? a body builder?
women can be absolutely stacked. women can be fucking ripped. some women are born with absolutely jacked muscle structure without any working out involved. women get muscular and people act like every single woman is some waifish leaf blowing in the wind- wake up, open your eyes, what are you even saying? look at the world around you, where are you living?
i feel insane living in a world where we either think women don't have muscles at all, or they have muscles but they can't ever get big and are inherently pathetically weak. we have modern science and photographs and videos at our fingertips and yet here we are really out here still believing that men strong women weak. it hurts my brain.

did anyone else notice that the outfit designs for the idols in grandfest reflect the fashion trends of the eras their respective games released in
squid sisters rocking peplum is reminiscent of 2010s american fashion, off the hook (specifically marina) reflects the fashion sensibilities of 2017-2020 and have some gay influence (looking at you pearl) and deep cut has this kind of eclectic flair that is pulled from current fashion trends with frye's athleisure and shiver's bell bottoms. big man is just wearing a thong so idk if that's a specific visual reference outside of him being a cunt king

I have the BIGGEST side eye for anyone who says shit like 'celebrities aren't obligated to make political statements' or 'why do you even care what they think?'. Why the fuck would I want to support someone who sees what's happening in Palestine and has the power to inform their audience/fan base and simply doesn't? Why don't they care enough to say anything at all? How do they, as millionaires and billionaires with very real influence whether we want them to have it or not, not want to help? When they see these people suffering and begging to just survive, how do they continue about their lives and not WANT to speak out even once??
Like how do they see children being bombed and go 'oh, that's so sad...anyway, nothing I can do about it', when they absolutely can do something about it. Small content creators with only a few hundred people listening are doing more to help Palestine than Taylor Swift, Beyoncé or literally any other big-time celebrity with the power to both make massive change and preserve their careers through it all. So why, why the actual FUCK, would I want to support these celebrities in ANYWAY when I know that they are capable of ignoring what's happening in Gaza or any atrocity like this. Why would I give my time and possibly money to some cunt who can't get on Twitter for two minutes and post something as simple as 'I stand with Palestine' because sometimes that's all they need to fucking do!
Y'all can ask 'why do you even care what they think?' all you want, but I do care if someone I was openly supporting doesn't have the basic decency to want to help the people of Palestine when they are screaming to be heard. Where they stand on issues like this will ALWAYS be more important to me than their next album or TV show. Silence is compliance.

A lot of my fellow Black and brown folks are finding it hard to accept that Black billionaires (including Mrs. Carter) are not gonna save us or the world.
From Zora Neale Hurston and Nina Simone to Muhammad Ali and Eartha Kitt and from Ava and Aja to Collin Kapernick there is a looong history of Black entertainers, artists, and athletes using their creative genius to nurture ancestral liberation, black freedom, and good trouble be it raising their voices through their craft or putting their bodies (and careers) on the frontline --- in part, because many of them were able to kove in white intellectual and political spaces as the exceptional, "extraordinary negroes."

"In a 1963 interview, civil rights leader Malcolm X discussed the pitfalls of pedestalizing Black celebrities in the Black community. In the interview, Malcolm X explained that unlike in the white community, in the Black community, people prop up Black celebrities when they are often nothing but puppets for the white establishment. Beyoncé and other celebrities must grapple with greater expectations of when and how they use their voice and must always deal with accusations that they are not doing enough with their power, privilege, and access. But those that assume the role of activist must be willing to use their voice, their art, and their influence to impact change."
If our creative Black billionaires were willing to risk their sponsorships, endorsements, and financial capital to move beyond the aesthetics of intellectual activism and actually help sustain lasting change . . . they would not be

I'm preparing myself for the GRAMMYS let down in a few days. Cowboy Carter is my AOTY for so many reasons. It is a Black American protest album (American Requiem, YaYa, and Amen are big fuck you's to white american/non-Black american racism and holding it accountable for its hypocrisy and myth-making of being the best country in the world--it is not) It is an expansive Black cultural geography of American musical history that ALL comes from Black Americans. Argue with ya mama and not me about it. It is a love letter to Black Americans and recognizes our place in being the backbone of this country's creation (alongside our Native Fam whose land got stolen and we were forced to work on for free as enslaved human beings). Like, Cowboy Carter is one of the Blackest cultural artifacts musically in the early Twenty-First Century. It is literally a museum inside an album. It is built on honoring Black musical legacy roots. It also paves a way for future Black music creations and fusions. Now I know a lot of the Beyhive don't like this album, but I need y'all to pipe down. Beyonce birthed what SHE wanted to bring in the world, and her voice finally matured enough to give us this gumbo and iconic gift. She wasn't tryna slay, be a diva, or have you running around serving looks in the club. She gave y'all that last album, lol! She made this album and said "Sit down...hush...let me feed you somethin'." All this to say: if she don't win album of the year, I'm dipping deep into my Creole Mississippi bloodline and putting a root on that voting bloc.

If Angela Bassett and Viola Davis both said “you know what….I’m good” and left Hollywood forever I wouldn’t even be mad at them. Because at some point, yall no longer deserve the luxury of benefitting from what I bring to this while continuing to disrespect and box me out.
