What I need y’all to understand is that I just opened my Christmas gift from my friend which contained a card. And upon opening the envelope, a bajillion wolf stickers just fell out all over my lap and floor and everywhere. I don’t particularly like wolves, nor do I dislike them. I feel like I just got glitter bombed but instead of glitter it’s wolf stickers

I think I put more effort into the backstory of the birthday banner than the rest of the drawing but that’s okay

Chik, chik, went O’Chunks’ lighter. He frowned. Low on fluid. Not to mention his cold-numbed fingers, hardly able to pick at the little wheel. 

He kept at it anyway. Chik, chik. The only other option was rubbing sticks together, and that hadn’t gotten them very far.

Behind him, under the open tent flap, Nastasia pulled the Count’s cape tighter around her shoulders, huddling up against him while he watched nothing in particular. Every few attempts at the lighter, his ear would half-perk at the noise, before settling back flat against his head as he lost interest. 

Nastasia shuffled her weight, kicking at the snow in front of the tent with a half-frozen boot. “The, um, the Count… well, frankly, all of us are going to be ice cubes if you can’t get that going,” she offered, by way of encouragement. 

“I know, Nassy.”

“Can’t you try the sticks again?”

“I can, yeh, but methinks ice-cactus wood dinnae burn th’way I thought.”

Nastasia frowned, mouth drawing into a thin line, but she only pressed her shoulder harder against the Count’s arm, nearly knocking him over. 

O’Chunks rolled his weight backward into a low squat, shaking out his hands and regretting that he’d only packed fingerless gloves. He bundled up his hands into fists and tucked them into the scarf around his neck as he considered his few options. 

“If only the Count could just… magic a fire into existence. He, um…” Nastasia trailed off, head turned toward her companion sadly.

Only a moment after giving up, the soggy wood in front of O’Chunks burst into blue-red flames. He sprang back with a yelp, landing hard on the scuffed ground that Nastasia had just cleared of snow. 

He and Nastasia stared at the Count. The glint of satisfaction half-twinkled in his eyes briefly before he slumped again.

re: magazines for cutouts,

ive gotten into collage using the free magazines/newspapers at my grocer and its fun! Regional business mags n such are less obviously stylish than fashion mags but any cutouts + adhesive are free stickers yk? And even ugly ads can have a pretty sky gradient or whatever. I cut em out all in one go and then file them away by color. Big recommend!

ooo i love that! my local comic book shop has a free paper pile with all the out of date catalogues and old packaging material they get and theres some fun stuff in there!

now i wanna get a cute one of those photo holder style books to save cutouts ...... ouggg.....

I kept getting ads for dinosaur chicken nugget plushies and was like wow, that would be such a great Christmas gift for my sister, but unfortunately I'm broke and can't buy one. So I raided my fabric stash, found something that would work, and just Made My Own By Hand and bam! dinosaur nugget plushie baybeeeee
