Idk if it's funny or just inconvenient, but after being so fed up by getting dead named I just threw my supplemental id (in Germany you can get one as trans person from the dtig until your name got changed officially and schools, universities and other public entities have to respect it) at them and they now changed it on my certifications too.

This might be an issue because my work place doesn't know that I not just have a preferred nickname but am indeed trans. It's okay because it's a public service job, I am an union member, the job and team is generally queer friendly and I got that position because they can't lose another person trained in that department, so I basically don't fear getting fired because of it, because hell of a lawsuit they would lose and my department literally might collapse with one person less, but still it's a weird situation to be in and having to explain.

The Label Thing - personal experience

I've talked previously about labels I've considered, used, or decided not to use in passing. Let's talk about it in a bit more detail!

I like labels. It's a personal preference, and I understand why someone wouldn't, but I like having words to describe myself with. I like having a handful of terms to explain my experiences quickly. I also like knowing that there's more people with these experiences, grouped under my label. Makes it feel a little less lonely.

Before the whole gender thing, I had already picked out the labels of biromantic asexual. Gender never really meant anything to me, and why would I care about stuff like genitals if I didn't intend to interact with them. Opted for bi over pan because it sounded nicer and the flag was prettier.

And then the gender thing happened and I suddenly had an entirely new experience to describe. One that was still developing.

The first day after I had come out to myself, I neither liked the term "man" nor "trans" for myself. Both seemed too solid for what I was. I was a dude or a guy, but a man? There's the whole societal aspect to it, how trans men can get treated poorly for "becoming the enemy", that I won't get into here, but it definitely was at play. And "trans" had an oddly definitive feeling to it. Like I had a gender and goal in mind, when I very much didn't. This was weird to me, because I knew that's not how the label is used. Anything that isn't cis can be labeled as trans. But at first it felt like I was appropriating it.

Nonbinary was a pretty safe catch-all. I was, by the very definition, not binary. Nor did I think anyone else was, but that was beside the point. Genderqueer was another option worth considering, since my gender was most definitely queer, but something about it didn't really click with me. Maybe it was the flag and the fact that certain trans-exclusionists used the same colors because they fancied themselves suffragettes.

I became a little more comfortable with it as the compound of transmasc. That was me. I was transing into the masculine. Not very committal, but a descriptor of what I was up to with the gender.

I still liked the term "woman", weirdly enough. Having watched so many Woman-Power movies (shoutout to Oceans 8 and Birds of Prey specifically), it had taken a while for me to fully embrace that label to begin with, and once I had managed to find it empowering, I didn't want to let go of it again. Even if I was transmasc, "Woman" by Kesha was too good of a song to leave behind. I was a motherfucking woman!

I did a bit more snooping around into other labels to see if anything would stick. I found and read the comics by ND Stevenson, and came across the ones where he describes being bigender. And I liked that description. It resonated with me. Especially because he references the Kesha song, I guess. 'Vibrating between genders too fast to see' felt relatable. So maybe I was bigender?

But I wasn't vibrating between male and female. Those were a part of it, sure, but there was more. And also less. I was every gender and no gender simultaneously. And while that is a possible subgroup of bigender, it once again felt like using the term, although I liked it, wouldn't properly convey my experience.

That night I decided to coin "fuckgender", only to discover that not only did this label already exist, but it also described exactly what I was feeling. (Not to be confused with genderfuck.) And yet, while that was a fun little anecdote, it wasn't what I wanted from a label. And the fact that other people were using it, thereby turning it into a functioning microlabel, made it less appealing to me, somehow.

Instead, I decided to embrace "trans" as an umbrella term for the time being. I didn't really need to define it any further. "transmasculine nonbinary" worked well enough to convey my identity to others. I could elaborate for those who wanted to know more. For myself, the label was the same as my gender. It was kinda there and kinda not, both everything and nothing all at once. More of a general vibe than an actual word.

And that works for now. Maybe that will change. Probably, even. I might embrace bigender, or multigender, I might find my trans experience to be binary enough to go by trans man. Maybe I'll do a U-turn and become a nonbinary woman.

There's only one way to find out and personally, I'm excited for it.

As someone who was friends with a femboy (we no longer talk since we finished college) I think I can add a little perspective:

As great as it is to see gay men breaking gender roles (my friends faced a lot of threats for this), a lot of the culture around femboys revolves around porn. The maid outfits, the lingerie, referring to their body parts as if they're female body parts (pussy or tits), it all comes from porn. And personally, since I'm anti-porn, it makes me uncomfortable and maybe that's why you are uncomfortable as well.

Besides, it seems like what turns them on is being seen as women or adjacent to women for acting feminine, that kind of humiliation (in their eyes) is exciting. And there are a lot of acting immature and "daddy" this and "daddy" that, using misogynistic slurs in a sexual way. All of that comes from porn. And anything that comes from porn is misogynistic.

I'm probably being very vague bc I can't express myself too well but I hope what I'm saying makes sense.

Besides I have the feeling the people uplifting this culture are mostly TIFs or really really young gay males. Both options are terrifying and could put them in the way of predators.

also my ideal end pairing is john x dany, AND arya x dany.

this of course with heavily transmasc arya, and john and dany arnt really the main sexually active pairing, and of course john x sansa is going on on the side and is the real foucault for the romantically/sexually active pairing (besides arya and danny they are also very romantically/sexually active). 

that ways it’s like a cool parallel. like dany gets her three heads of the drangon: herself, john, and arya. And it even gets to play with the gender in a REALLY fun way. So dany is a parallel to ageon the conceror, who is the only male in the relationship, m/f/f. this means that danys end goal relationship should be f/m/m, to be the inverse of ageon the concorors relationship. but, arya is transmasc , and still has a female identity in some way which means that this becomes up to interpretation. like you throw in some like faceless man skills and stuff where she can like get realllllyyyy good at making herself look more boyish or more like a man or maybe like she takes on the faces of dead men in order to flirt with denaryis while looking like a man, but she always has to take off the face in order to look like herself again around her family and stuff and so she gets an identity issue subplot where she doesn’t know what gender to even consider herself anymore or something. like it’s a very minor internal struggle though. and so the reader is left to like figure out for themselves what that means. like if you consider arya a male, only then can you get a f/m/m final pairing. 

BUT if you interpret arya as a girl, just at all in general, THEN that implies that the the final dany paring is actually still m/f/f. AND it gets even cooler because if you consider the idea that the final paring is two females and one male, it puts that the odd man out into focus, and that man is john snow. SO it becomes an answer or a riddle that you have to figure out for who is ACTUALLY the prince that was promised in the prophecy. because if the final paring is m/f/f, then that means that john is actually supposed to be the parallel to ageon the concoror, NOT danyaryis!!!!!!! So it proves that JOHN is the prince that was promised!!! but that all hinges on weather or not you consider arya a man or a woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that’s what really matter’s!!!!!!!!!!

there’s a third option though which is my favorite in which arya is both a woman and a man and neither a woman nor a man and that means that you combine and have both  above options at the same time and you relize that BOTH dany AND john are the prince that was promised. like both of them were at the same time. and you say ohhhh again this is all based on aryas gender. Like everything connects and you are like Oh awesome.

so basically the answer to who is the princes that was promised, is weather or not arya is a man or a woman or both or neither  by the end of the series.

i've been a r.ankane defender since day one so the answer might be pretty obvious 🫡. yet they are that one ship that requires so much effort and development to work as endgame. their love story is a chaotic one filled with ups and downs, lots of miscommunication as well, so it still got a long way to go. yet if rumiko was clear on something, it was that ranma and akane were made for one another. i could make an essay about their duo but to sum it up, i do believe that akane has grown to be the only person in the whole series that has accepted ranma for who he is regardless of his strength or gender.

besides that, i'm fond of any akane dynamic that truly shows the other person appreciating her. maybe that's why i wouldn't have minded ryo.kane as a possibility.

what are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

i'm open to almost anything as long as: 1. it makes sense. 2. there's clear interest between the two parties. 3. both muns have taked about it beforehand. but i have to say that when i play a female muse, i have a bit of trouble doing m / f ships ( except for r.ankane or r.yokae ), so it will be a little hard to romance akane with male muses ( very in character lol ).

I don’t like Rhaenyra. I don’t think she’s a good queen, and I think blaming Alicent, Aegon, or the “Green” party for her failures as a ruler excuses her for faults which are entirely her own.

As Rohanne Webber says in The Sworn Sword, “a woman must needs piss twice as hard, if she hopes to rule”. Rhaenyra had a difficult task ahead of her, to be accepted as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms after her father died. Yet she allowed herself to be attached to scandal with three different men, both before and after her marriage. Aegon IV was mocked in his time for his numerous affairs, and is now considered one of the worst kings of Westeros; Rhaenyra, as a woman, would never be able to maintain respect with her affairs. Too, few if any lords would happily follow a boy whose bastardy was common knowledge, especially knowing that trueborn male-line descendants of the king existed. Like her father, but even more impossibly, Rhaenyra expected the lords of Westeros to acknowledge her sons as true Targaryen heirs purely on the basis of her own will – to subjugate their power to her pleasure. She was, in effect, claiming more male privilege than an ordinary king, not only the right to take a paramour and have bastards (something no queen would ever be permitted, for fear of disrupting the succession), but the right to solemnize these bastards as her own royal heirs. Such a course of action would be dangerous for a king; for a queen regnant, it would be absolutely fatal.

Nor did Rhaenyra take the opportunity to give her future bannermen more than a legal reason to follow her. Besides her betrothal progress, we have no evidence of Rhaenyra traveling around the realm, the way Jaehaerys and Alysanne did, forging important personal connections. Why is it that Queen Rhaenys is still beloved as a Targaryen queen, and not remembered for the possible bastardy of her son Aenys ? Because Rhaenys took important steps to make sure she would be beloved, by crafting marriage alliances among the nobility; by patronizing singers and bards to praise the Targaryen monarchy; by becoming involved in charities for the smallfolk, by initiating reforms like banning the raiding of the Ironborn for women and limiting the number of blows a husband could strike to six, etc. Rhaenys was on personal terms with all the Lords of Westeros. Did Rhaenyra urged her father to pass laws benefitting women or the smallfolk ? What does Rhaenyra do to be like Rhaenys (or that other beloved Targaryen queen, Alysanne) ? Nothing.

Answer to Current Ask:

There is a difference between acknowledging that she had the in/ability to know who she could trust or not AND claiming that if she had just "proved" to the misogynist people around her that she would be a great ruler she would have survived and won. Option B makes Rhaenyra still have to conform to patriarchal expectations of leadership and womanhood when this society already makes womanhood the antithesis of leadership itself. They want a man to rule them and distrust female leadership. To pretend that this isn't a huge factor in how any woman, much less Rhaenyra, will decide how to accrue power and maneuver her way using others for that is to be shortsighted.

Whether or not a royal/noblewoman is cunning or carefree, too entitled, too impulsive, too reserved, or too hesitant, the fault of her being in a position where she has to work harder than a man to even be trusted with power is not hers. Meanwhile, why aren't the same pressures and conditions for her ruling made on the male candidates (and Alicent) around her?

If we compare her to Alicent, Alicent is a heavy-duty blood purist who never looked out for other women, even seized power from another woman entirely for herself and her house's patriarchal prestige and power. No matter who Rhaenyra was before King's Landing or after, Rhaenyra was "vulnerable" to this due to her gender's inequitable access to higher positions of power in Westeros. Rhaenyra was never a tyrant before King's Landing and the greens' usurpation.

If we are resting on altruism for the definition of a good ruler, then there is no other current alternative at this point of the Dance. No one cared about the smallfolk. So why the pressed opinion towards Rhaenyra?!

In my past posts, I not only attribute some of the blame/origins of Rhaenyra's troubles on the greens (rightly bc again Alicent formed a faction against her when she was 10), I ALSO:

said that Rhaenyra made critical errors and identified a few faults. I think your problem is that I refuse to ignore how she got there because of things that do exist. If I did that, I could easier claim that Rhaenyra's paranoia and distrust came from out of nowhere, therefore ignoring nuance and raising questions for the sake of shifting ALL blame onto her for not meeting already-colored standards.

Aegon IV is hated for treating his wife, Naerys --who acted very much like the ideal Andal woman and was very religious- and admired/loyal brother Aemon as if they were trash AND for legitimizing Daemon Blackfyre for no other reason but for spite against them both. Not his having affairs and mistresses and bastards. Aegon IV could have as many bastards as he liked, but Naerys couldn't even if she wanted to. I mean, go back and see how people characterized Daena Targaryen for having a bastard child/premarital-extramarital affair, saying she didn't deserve the throne because she was "wanton" and "unmanageable" (TWoIaF, "Viserys II"). Funny enough, so was Aegon IV, and though he was seen as unworthy, no one actually questioned his right to rule nor tried to pass him over to his brother or sister. Even though he was whoring and being unfaithful way before he became king (Megette, Daena herself, Cassella Vaith).

One thing about medieval, Tudor, & early mod societies in Europe (esp England) is that conforming behaviorally and visually to a "model" already set by religio-cultural principles was the expectation. More room was left for the man to stray than a woman. If a woman did have affairs or bastards, they were likelier to be kept secret, and she would more likely do so when the alternative is her husband putting her aside in various ways. And her reputation is more than likely ruined, characterized as her being "disobedient", "soiled", and "treacherous" bc she failed at being that Virgin/Mother Mary OR Faith Mother model woman and made her king a cuckold AND introduced possible rivals to already existing children OR placed doubt as to whose kids t=she already has with her husband. She has gone against the model of the dutiful, obedient woman-wife-to-man-husband ideal. She is reviled for not holding back her urges and "soiling" the lineage and succession. She "made" her husband look like he has no control. That doesn't happen the other way around, there isn't a true equivalent for when a woman is cheated on and her husband has bastards.

Rhaenyra would be more in trouble than any man and potentially lose her position if she even had one child that was officially known and recognized as not her husband's. Aegon and Aemond even at had 2 between them, yet no one uses this to say they should not rule or command others! You cannot equalize her status as a female heir vs Aegon IV having open affairs, mistresses, and bastards. That avenue is simply not as open to noblewomen as it is to noblemen.

So you severely underestimated the consequences of having bastards for a man versus a woman. Men can openly have many bastards, and even be mocked for their lack of self-control, but it ultimately is also put up as a consequence of their "natural" desires. Whereas with women, the ideal woman is chaste and nearly sexless. a model of the Mother/Mary from the Faith/Catholic religion who gives birth to legitimate children for the sake of the kingdom having a future ruler and continuing to have "peace". A woman was more held to the standard of becoming a model for others than a man.

Back to Alysanne and Rhaenys, once again, Alysanne herself did not want her daughter Daenerys nor her granddaughter Rhaenys to be queen(s) because she thought they had good, altruistic, "feminist" characters and looked out for other women. She did so because she wanted a woman's claim to mean as much as a man's, full stop. (She pushed for Dany #1 when the girl was just a baby, I mean, c'mon!).

Plus, Alysanne tried to push for women to get into the Citadel and become maesters or suggest it, and she was totally ignored, and condescended to despite her Consort rank. Rhaenys I is thought the "sexier" and "better" sister, but also the "sluttier" one in maesters' histories. People (really men) didn't welcome to resist her rule of thumb and rule of seven laws. The difference between Alysanne and Rhaenys was that Rhaenys had her own right and ability to make and contradict laws as if she were a Queen Regnant while being a consort. She made laws in Aegon's name and in his absence, but both she and Visenya still had that ability and wouldn't have had the condescending ignoring of words Alysanne was treated to.

If having power for a man is not contingent on his moral character, then why is it justified for doing the opposite for a woman? Why the accommodation for a man, and not for a woman? The only answer is that men are preferred over woman and that it is about preserving such powers and privileges for men over women and keeping women legally, socially, etc. subordinate to men. It was not about personality, that isn't what drives misogynists to criticize women. It's about control. It's about questioning the claims and the rules people make for themselves.

sometimes i just sit there and wonder what i identify as.

i grew up in an area where i didn't have much representation of anything, "gay" was an insult and colours were dedicated to specific chromosomes. if you grazed football as a girl, you were seen as a tomboy alongside if you even looked at claires you were just odd. i think some messed up part of me still believes that, despite every fibre in my being disagreeing with it. there wasn't much representation of being homosexual in a form or another, mainly just jacqueline wilson books i peered into with such curiosity and utmost wonder.

it sort of struck me that i was different when i was much younger too. hell, sleepovers with girls scared me since they smelled so "sweet" or they were much prettier than me. we all watched films with the odd kissing scene and wanted to peer into the mirror, maybe attempt at looking into it without shame. it didn't stick, yet it didn't wipe off. i kissed a girl on her cheek in my bedroom when i was about nine, fags the most ive ever done, and i don't count it fully either. i kissed a girl on her hand too but still, that doesn't count in my books. nobody ever had the "it's okay to be gay" talk with me but they never had the "being gay is a sin" either. it just sat uncomfortably in the room. all the pins and homemade flags were just pretty colours opposed to something with significance in this world. ive tossed the majority of the relics besides a pin i bought when i had a sense of freedom for the first time but that's about it at most. we still haven't talked about it, and we don't intend on it either.

i remember my mom watching a tv programme with me, her eyes flickering towards me whilst saying "i don't get why people come out. i get where she was coming from, as if it was natural, but she was also the figure who never brought up these sort of conversations. the woman who made me feel a sense of crushing burden when i felt a sense of anger. i just shrugged it off, and never gave my views on the matter. i think if i had the confidence, i would have said something along the lines of "it's because we live in a society where showing who you really are needs courage".

i think i did tell her i was pansexual when i was younger too, this was during a mist of things where id say random bullshit to them as a joke, hoping they'd want to linger nearby. i haven't said a word yet.

gender was another thing that puzzled me, which still does. i never really thought much about it, i just thought you were female, male, or non-binary. that's it. no more options, just three buttons and you could click one. i used to lie awake, my mind thinking about issues for me to go 'holy shit am i trans??' which obviously still happens; why would i be writing this out otherwise? i dipped into being demigirl to nonbinary to immediately agender and i sort of sat there, sticking a label on it like they have to me with other diagnoses. i go from wanting big tits and being the epitome of feminine beauty to wanting to have top surgery and going by a new name. i know gender is a spectrum, but some part of me knows everyone around me wouldn't accept me, thinking im more mentally ill than i am.

i don't know why i decided to type this out either. maybe to give myself clarity instead of chastising myself for what's happened in my world.

ive only ever dated afabs. one cis. one somewhere between demigirl and nonbinary and the other transmasc. i know i hurt them one way or another, and so did they. i speak to one of them a few times now and again but for the other two, i apologised to one of recent and it's stuck to my mind. the other i fucked up so bad it hurts to look into a mirror. i think amabs scare me and i don't know why. i attach myself to older guys in films and loosely to other people, remarrying shane in stardew over and over again. one minute i have a preference and then it drastically changes.

Writing Style

I don't give a set length I'm expecting a person to write to that's ridiculous. All I want is for the lengths of our messages to somewhat match to a reasonable extent. I.E. if I send a two paragraph message, I'm expecting more than a sentence. I've had to carry roleplays before and it's not the most enjoyable experience for me.

I am comfortable with writing in first or third perspective, whichever feels appropriate for the roleplay at hand. We just need to agree with one another on which one we will be using.

Character/World building

I'm very big on character and world building, especially with a homemade plot. As of characters, I want to be able to either see or visualize in my mind what they look like and how they're acting within the roleplay so I go into some pretty deep character building.

For world building, with Fandom based plots we simply need to agree if we will be following the plot of the show/movie/book or if we will be vering off on our own path.

Homemade plots I tend to delve deeper into. I want to create a well rounded world that we can shape and mold as we please. When a world and bland and flat, it can be hard to take it in the directions we want.

Chapter 9- Part 15

You’ve left her hanging for, like, hours now! Thirty people are dead! What could you have been investigating that kept you away for so long?

Still- does this confirm that the names for certain Team Meteor agents are, in fact, code names? Meaning “Aster” and “Eclipse” are not those two’s real, legal names? Maybe “Ace” isn’t that other commander’s actual name either- though, in their case, it could also be some stage name, assuming I’m correct about them being part of that Agate Ace Circus thing.

It’s…interesting that they’re giving us the name of the agent Amaria was tracking, here and now- Law of Conservation of Detail and all that. It can’t be that Borealis is Commander Redeye, he seemed too important of a member of Team Meteor to spend time wandering around the Slums for some reason. But still, there’s gotta be some relevance to Borealis being brought up so specifically now- did we find any hints to where Borealis could have gone? 

Would it have even been in the Slums, is that another reason why the player had to go through there (other than the short route to Coral Ward being blocked by trees, I suppose)? But we didn’t see much in the ways of clues, I don’t think- just a lot of generic NPCs, that Scrafty and her Scraggy gang, that one Mankey in the elevator, and the Corey encounter (which might have been optional given that wasn’t the way to the roof).

…We…ran into Corey. The…only other non-generic NPC, besides Victoria, we ran into while in the Slums…that entire time…

…No. No, no, I might just be overthinking stuff again- like I said, it was probably an optional event anyways, there’s…really nothing to go on about Borealis for me to say for sure that it’s Corey anyways. The Corey thing could have just been a red herring, his explanation for being there doesn’t seem that out-of-character or unreasonable- he looks like a villain, but that doesn’t mean he’s actually a villain.

YEAH!! Finally, we can engage in REAL warfare against the trees! No Fire-types required!

Alright- it took many trials and tribulations, but now it seems like we can finally go back to Obsidia Ward, back to Florinia and Victoria, and deal with the rampaging plants in the park once and for all!

But…that’ll have to be an adventure for next time. Thank you all so much for reading, next time will surely bring even more chaos and I am as excited as I am terrified! So look forward to that and my continued attempts to be a competent battler in spite of the enemy health bars, and I’ll see you all next time!

Strategic, everything they do and say has a motive behind it, they literally think they’re smarter than anyone around them - heavy ego energy. Smarter than you? 🤭 Or - they may have had a history of shady bs in the past, it’s been some time between you, and they’re coming back around. This is someone that could’ve been in prison for someone, Justice indicates law, they could’ve been involved with drugs or on them when you knew them. 2 Cups clarifies the toxicity, this may not have had anything to do with you at all but rather - their last relationship, a baby mama/daddy could be involved and you/they feel “bound” to them in that way, meaning you would have to deal with it too. This person was a liar and a player in the past, but I’m hearing “Jesus dined with thieves”, so you don’t judge. Not really. I looked that up and see “sinners” being the word actually used, but I specifically heard “thieves”, they could’ve been a thief or dated one, have friends that are, have just had something stolen recently idk. Somehow a thief is involved.

Long term potential is both of you giving what you’ve got to this connection, moving away from the drama, possibly putting some actual distance in between you and this toxic…thing…ex, druggie friends, old memories, whatever. Justice & 6 Pentacles would indicate maintaining balance between you is the top priority, whether you’re with them or not. Some probably aren’t, it’s the ex, but you’ll still be cordial and forgiving towards them. I’m seeing a couple of different stories. One, if this is a long-time committed relationship, I’m seeing a typical male/female conflict of the man thinks it’s his job to mow grass, work, and control everything, and the woman is over here with 10 Wands and the responsibility of literally everything on her shoulders - doing too much. Even working herself 💯 like “scuse you buttercup, grab a sponge 🧽.” Doesn’t have to be these genders, it just describes the dynamic between you, of any gender.

If not that, then this may be someone you’re casually seeing that’s not only stating but *demanding* a commitment from you, and you would have other options on the table besides just this person. You’re showing up as the Cups pair, with this person inverted, manipulative, extremely emotional, not the most mature energy. "My Next Life as a Villainess" is hetero actually... 😅

I really appreciate that we got a reverse harem anime that includes female love interests and I hope for more queer anime like it but MNLAAV (making this easy for myself lol) does not do the sapphics any justice. Not to rob any girls or queers of their enjoyment of the anime but for myself, I was pretty let down with just how straight the series actually is.

Fewer female love interests

Especially as the roster expands, no new women have been added to the list of romantic options and it's overpowered with male love interests. The switch game only lets you pursue the male characters and the upcoming movie seems to center around a new guy.

The female characters honestly just feel like supporting characters after their initial introduction which is the height of their romantic endeavours. After that, they kind of just exist to fill up the harem but never make any progress. The male characters get to assert themselves romantically and it's treated with significance but the girls have been doing that since the beginning yet it's waved off for comedy. In the pajama party scene, Mary directly states she wants a woman as a partner and says she likes Catarina but Catarina says it should've been given to talk about a man??? She ends up being coded as straight which defeats the whole purpose of a bisexual harem.

Sexist Writing

Besides Catarina, the girls designs and personalities are super feminized that appeals more to straight men than queer women. Mary is the most assertive of the three but it's portrayed comically and ultimately futile. Sophia prioritizes her brother pursuing Catarina, putting herself second despite her special connection to her. Maria feels like the most important candidate out of everyone as the videogame's protagonist but she's the most stereotypically written and ends up getting sidelined too. Even Catarina's mom is usually the character to scold her despite in the beginning of the anime, the mom and dad came off as equally doting. It just feels sexist to portray the mom as the nag and the dad is just basically uninvolved unless we need a "good parent" moment.

I want a reverse harem bisexual anime that doesn't have questionable dynamics (like incest and age gap considering Catarina is technically in her 20's surrounded by 15 year olds). It needs an equal amount of male and female characters and it should have gender queer/gender nonconforming characters too! The girls should be just as much romantic options as the guys, just being there and being attracted to the heroine isn't enough. I need to see her get flustered with the girls and have genuine romantic moments! They should get to kiss and hold each other and have their feelings taken seriously! And the protagonist should actually be queer?? Even if she's oblivious, she can't dismiss women's advances based on heteronormative assumptions. And all the love interests should still respect the heroine's boundaries.

petition to stop censoring captions-

we use captions like 99% of the time because of auditory processing issues (probably from our autism & adhd) which make it so, without captions, it takes a lot of focus to make sure we're hearing the right words and it's annoying to rewind to catch it and etc etc etc

the thing with that is, we use captions for convenience. deaf/HoH people need captions to know the audio, they don't have nearly as much of a choice.

so it's super frustrating to see them censored. the automated captions on youtube (besides being somewhat inaccurate) literally write swearwords like this: [_]. we don't even get a hint of the word, not even the sh*t or f*ck.

if people who don't use captions get to hear the swear word, put it in the captions. if it's beeped out in the audio, beep it out in the captions, but for the love of the stars stop infantilizing disability aids. if the audio says it, so do the captions. no exceptions.

(also I wish more youtubers actually manually put captions on their videos because the youtube automated ones are just. disappointing sometimes)

The premise of the game is that you, along with your crewmate Setsu, are onboard a starship that faces an imminent threat: several crew members have been infected and had their minds taken over by Gnosia, insane aliens that will kill everyone on board until they are the only ones left. There is no quick way to tell if someone has been infected, and anyone with the means to identify them is targeted quickly. Therefore, your crew is basically playing Werewolf (or as it was called in my area, Mafia) to try to determine who the Gnosia are and put them in cold sleep. No one is safe, not even Setsu or you.

However, this is more than just a Werewolf simulator (though you can play it as such, and it's pretty fun). You can take on a variety of roles besides just a crew member: cause chaos by being Gnosia yourself, take on roles traditional to Werewolf such as Guardian Angel, or try out some interesting new roles that seem specific to this game. One role in particular competes against both the crew and the Gnosia, though will likely ally with one of those sides to achieve their goal. Gnosia calls itself a "social deduction game", and this is because unlike Werewolf game generators you may find online, your crewmates have consistent personalities and their own sets of tactics, and learning these is just as critical to winning as logical reasoning is. For instance, one character is obsessed with rationality and is very strong there, but they have a tendency to be so rude and abrasive, the crew is quick to vote them off. Another loves to use devastating emotional pleas to deflect suspicion back onto you.

Your crew starts small, but grows to a total of 15 including you. The first handful of people you meet seem relatively normal, but as more crew members are added in new loops, they become increasingly bizarre. I won't spoil it for you, but some of them really push the definition of "human" (a recurring theme in this game). They are intriguing people, though, and even after beating the game, I found myself wanting to know more about them. You can choose to collaborate with one of your choosing, as long as you gain their trust. Some of them will be your favorite allies, and you'll be mentally shouting "noooo" when they get killed or put in cold sleep. Others seem custom built to annoy you, and you'll cheer when they go away for the round.

As for the player character, you can select your name and gender: male, female, or nonbinary. (A quick aside on this game's handling of NB: your main ally and implied love interest, Setsu, is NB, and at least one other crew member also is. I'm not NB myself so I can't speak to how good the representation is, but besides one instance of misgendering and one instance of body type phobia that are both shut down quickly, the crew widely accepts the NB members' identities. However, there are a couple romantic events (for two female crew if playing as male, two male crew if playing as female) that are pretty small, but I've read you won't get at all if you're NB. They should've added an option for choosing which gender(s) you are romantically interested in.) You also choose a star sign which is mostly aesthetic, but behind the scenes slightly affects characters' affinities for you. Most important are your stats: Charisma, Intuition, Logic, Charm, Performance, and Stealth. For instance, Intuition and Logic are great for being a detective: sussing out lies and proving your point with evidence. Meanwhile, high Charm can help keep you out of cold sleep. You do have to build yourself a certain way to gain access to all debate skills, but you can reallocate stats, and in the early and mid game it is fun to play around with your build.

The story manifests itself in the repeated gameplay loops, which you and Setsu are aware of and trying to escape. There is an Event Finder in the game that will tweak your settings to make it more likely for Events to occur, but there are issues with it. 1) It does not tell you which Event it thinks it found for you or the initial pre-requisites, even if it's one you've started before. 2) It does not guarantee the involved characters will have the roles you need, or take the action you need them to do to trigger the event. 3) It does not guarantee that you or the involved characters will last long enough to complete the event, so you may fail them due to the RNG being out of your control. I think this is the main reason this game isn't more popular, especially since you will likely need 100+ loops to complete the game. My suggestion is to not restart the loop, even if you fail it, because I've noticed the game starts putting some guardrails in place if you trigger then fail the event multiple times, like having the Guardian Angel always choose to protect you or outright removing the requirement to view an initial scene you've already gotten.

Overall, I'd recommend giving this a try if you like mystery, sci-fi, logic puzzles, or even just playing Werewolf.
