Also known as Resava monastery, it was built by Despot Stefan Lazarevitch between 1406 and 1418. Church is dedicated to Holy Trinity and during medieval times it was also a place where many books were translated and copied.

Although located in the heart of Chongging, one of China's mega cities, Luohan Temple was constructed over 1000 years ago. Its ancient corridors lead to worn stone depictions of the Buddha while its wooden halls wafts with incense and are adorned with hundreds of local colourful deities.

hi I’m annemarie and I’m an art historian! not adjuncting for the first time in five years was rly hard for me so I threw some slides together so I could still (sort of) teach the same material as my language of art class but a) I threw these slides together for instagram so space was/is limited and b) language of art is a ten week run through art history so I’m presenting only the most accessible information here – there’s so much more to this art period and to this artist! – please don’t expect it to be comprehensive and please do ask if you have any questions!

The crypt of the Basilica-Cathedral of Saint-Denis, north of Paris serves as the birthplace of the divine light of gothic stained glass windows and is the main necropolis of French royalty.

This medieval crypt has the remains among many others from Louis XIV and Marie-Antoinette.
