you know i do wonder how many sonic characters actually have living parents. like knuckles is the last of his kind so obviously his parents arent around anymore. both guys who could be considered shadows dads are 100 percent confirmed dead. sonic is canonically an orphan im pretty sure. and on the other side of the coin cream is like the only character in the game cast who has a living parent we actually see onscreen. but what about everyone else i dont think theres a straight answer for any other character. other than rouge's mom being mentioned a couple times i Guess but we dont even know anything about her or if shes still alive just that she existed at some point. are these kids constantly putting themselves in danger because they dont have parents around to stop them or because their parents just dont care

haunted mansion au

barb and jim move into an old, creepy mansion only to find out it’s super haunted. they try to leave, but are forced back when a couple of ghosts follow them and demand they return to the house

strickler is the ‘priest’ they call to exorcise the ghosts. doesn’t work. douxie is the astrophysicist turned tour guide with a tragic backstory and special lens that can photograph ghosts. does work. claire is the psychic medium with a surprisingly good yelp score for someone so young. works really, really well. and nancy domzalski is the old historian with a heart condition (toby’s there too, because he goes wherever his nana does)

together they unravel the mystery of the mansion, defeat the hatbox ghost, and become a family

Inbetween s2 and s3 , Archie gets transported back to the Veronica discovers André is keeping watch on their Lake House time. He thinks "oh, obviously I have to save Cassidy Bullock", so he starts doing things differently. He stays, André still shoots Cassidy, just that Archie sees it this time. He fights with André over the gun, Cassidy gets hit by a stray bullet. He tells Veronica that her dad sent them here as a distraction, she still gets angry and things commence as usual. He tells Jughead he's caught in a time loop and in the evening, there will be a robbery and one of the robbers will get shot and it's Archie's fault and Jughead thinks he's crazy but goes along with it. All this leads to us Jughead's blood on Archie's hands. He cannot save Cassidy Bullock and when he does, one of his friends dies instead. Once, it's his dad. Archie throws himself in front of bullets and cars and all the danger in the world but he still wakes up at the lake house in the morning knowing of the tragedy the day will bring.

You know I was against Giovanni taking over all the villain arcs (save for Sinnoh's) in Pokemon Masters until the Kalos one because now there's a possibility his aim is to start up Rainbow Rocket again and how cool would it be to see the half redeemed villains have to fight against alternate, more evil versions of themselves who succeeded in their original plans

originally had a super long multi paragraph ramble about this written out but then realized i did not have to say all that . anyway . i think that the reason some little animal guy sonic characters have last names while most others just go by (name) the (species) has to do with cultural differences... the fact that the characters with last names are also the same characters who have more human sounding first names makes me think that they were born in an area that had a large human population, or that their parents or grandparents were, so their family was influenced by human naming practices

really most of the weird stuff with ken penders starts to make sense when you realize he was a marvel/dc guy who just ended up working on the sonic comics for the sake of like, it being a job. like based on what the guy has said it doesn´t seem like he particularly cares about the sonic the hedgehog franchise on its own in his head he was writing superhero comics
