Hverfjall Coffee Shop

Situated in the middle of nature, the bistro is strongly inspired by the surrounding vastness. By arriving at the site, the coffee shop itself becomes a part of the landscape, seeking to disappear from the arriving visitors and first letting them contemplate the main attraction, the Hverfjall Volcano, to the point that we felt driven to walk to the top first. Finally, walking back down we were able to see the coffee shop inviting us to come inside.

Stepping into this Coffee shop was a trip unto itself; the feeling of getting into the earth itself, covered by a giant rock in contrast with a minimal interior decoration of only two volumes, a programmatic bar and a chimney… It certainly makes for some interesting atmosphere whilst enjoying your java towards an organically framed volcano.
