Behind this half-open door lies a world of memories and moments frozen in time.

This is the door to my grandma's house, the place where so much of my childhood was spent. It's where we laughed until we cried, had countless barbeques with family and friends, and where I fell asleep listening to the sound of fireworks on New Year's Eve year after year. Mourned together in times of sadness, and celebrated every milestone and achievement.

This house holds so much more than just memories of my grandma - it's a repository of my entire family's history. The door might be half open, but it feels like it's opened up an entire universe of experiences and emotions. And I'm grateful for every single one.

Back in the 1990’s I made many photos for a textbook company. One of the projects was to photograph this woman who was a renowned ceramic artist who lived in Morristown. I cannot of course remember her name, but the photo has always struck with me.
