devastating to go into the tag for an obscure vampire movie I've been quietly obsessed with for years to find mostly gifsets of minor characters (played by big-name actors) and review blogs saying they didn't like it :(
@ everyone who made a post saying "I liked it :)" I am blowing you a kiss. everyone who made a lovely gifset or photoset of the cinematography I am tipping my hat. that one poster that said "bro did y'all just miss the Entire Message about class and race or???" I am shaking your hand with enthusiasm there was SUCH a message about class and race
anyway everybody should watch Night Teeth and revel in glitzy flashy modern vampires in LA with me

Best thing about being a Scooby Doo fan: you can meet some of the nicest people with some really cool ideas and hcs, there's such an abiding love for the franchise, which on its own is just AMAZING, such a wealth of content to dive into, and I haven't even gotten into the fan REDESIGNS and aus and-
Worst thing about being a Scooby Doo fan: people irl in public will come up to you with some of the worst Scooby takes ever (Scrappy found dead in Miami, SDMI revolutionized animation, etc.) and you have to restrain yourself from getting into a fistfight with some rando acquaintance/friend-of-a-friend in public ALL THE TIME 💀

Last stuff for today probably. Haven't felt like drawing this much in a while, it's nice. Rewatched Arsenic and Old Lace with my mom a few days ago, super fun and goofy :-]

why the fuck does my brain have to betray me right before hanging out with friends?
i like spending time with these friends. i don’t get to do it a lot (with any of my friends really) and it’s probably the last chance i’ll have for a while with the school year approaching
and yet. today i am hollow and very low and now the insomnia is overwhelmingly bad because i am in a very bad spot (week out from my period which is definitely playing a part in all this- have been emotionally volatile all week but it’s at its peak today i guess)
idk. i just hate this because i feel like a flake. i feel like a bad friend. i want nothing more than to go over and get drunk with my friends and maybe just let it all go for a night. but i don’t know if i can. if i feel this empty and shitty tomorrow i’ll probably make up some lame excuse and stay home and wallow.
it’s just so so so frustrating to want to do something so badly, to want to show up and be social because you’re so rarely a social being, and then have your stupid fucking mind ruin it all before it can even happen. i feel so useless and unworthy

summer winter reading/writing/arting tag
Thank you so much for tagging me @thealterscrolls in your post, you know I love an excuse to overshare about things I like and/or are working on. Though, I'll be nice and keep each list to a maximum of 8 cause otherwise I would go overboard and that would make this already long post longer than necessary. Alright, let's get into it:
Describe one creative WIP project you're planning to work on over the summer:
No summer for me for a while but hey, winter for me personally is a great time to work on stuff cause excursions outside the house are at a minimum, and I don't have to feel bad about being inside all day when the sun's already going down at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Anyway, I'm hoping to work on my In the Absent Place prequel slash companion fic focusing on Jake and the events that lead into that story. It's been an idea I've wanted to do for months and I have indeed started on it but I keep getting distracted from it by other ideas and fandoms (and also working on zine fics). But I do want to finish it. I also have a fic for The Owl House and one for Wolf 359 that I keep coming back to (aka the fics that have been distracting me), so we'll see if I ever get round to finishing those.
Recommend a book:
When it comes to reading books, I am both very easily entertained (I rarely give out 1 or 2 stars) and extremely reserved with what I consider a great book, to me at least. I have given only a few books 5 stars. These are those few books:
• 'Project Hail Mary' by Andy Weir
• 'Piranesi' by Susanna Clarke
• 'Loveless' by Alice Oseman
• 'Radio Silence' by Alice Oseman
• 'Elatsoe' by Darcie Little Badger
• 'Good Omens' by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett
• 'The Witch's Heart' by Genevieve Gornichec
• 'His Dark Materials' series by Philip Pullman
Recommend a fic:
There are so many great fics I've read that are lost to time because I'm stupid and rarely bookmark stuff (it's that same 5 star problem, y'see). But here's some I have bookmarked or remember really liking:
• 'Mens Rea' by yellow_caballero (Moon Knight)
• 'the dotted line' by zippe (Moon Knight)
• 'An Evolving Situation' by whiskyrunner (Moon Knight, ongoing)
• 'Puddlejumping' by Davechicken (Moon Knight)
• 'Misguided Ghosts' by petrichorishly (Lucifer)
• 'Thermotemporal Equations' by blinkytreefrog (Captain America)
• 'No Echo' by sh0rtwave (Wolf 359)
• 'you were the song that i'd always sing, you were the light that fire would bring' by rnelody (The Owl House)
Recommend Music:
I like listening to a lot of genres, but I think indie pop is probably my go-to, so pretty much all of these will fall under that. Here are some of the songs I've really been enjoying lately:
• 'Word to the Trees' by whatever mike
• 'Christmas in June' by AJR
• 'Kelly Time' by Owl City
• 'Bite Down (Bastille vs. HAIM)' by Bastille
• 'Jigsaw' by Conan Gray
• 'Bloody! Bloody!' by Junie & TheHutFriends
• 'Serotonin' by girl in red
• 'Talking to Myself' by Will Jay
Share one piece of advice:
Nothing you learn is a waste of time. Nothing. Doesn't matter how obscure or pointless it feels like it is, everything comes in handy some way or another eventually (and, hey, even if it doesn't, it can still be fun to have that knowledge). So learn! Learn whatever you want, however big or small. Learn that fictional language or lore from your favourite story. Learn about a show you've never watched from an hour long video essay. Learn about that obscure historical event you found in a Wikipedia rabbit hole at 2AM. Learn not because you have to but because you want to and because you're interested. Because no time is ever wasted when you've gained something new.
That's it for me. I'll tag @pizzee, @yellowocaballero, @theophagism, and @mockspector. Consider it my not-so-sneaky way to learn about your projects and/or favourite books/fics. ;)

Y’know, I wanna learn to forgive and let things go but I also wanna hunt down the ballet teacher who demanded I remove my 3-year-old daughter from her COMMUNITY COLLEGE ballet class 22 years ago (which made the poor lil thing cry), so I can tell her off properly for being an authoritarian, self-important, delusional big fish in an infinitesimal pond with no concept of fun or of what a child is and tell her to pirouette her New York ballet washout self straight to Hell.

Speaking of the Vietnamese wiki pages- LOOK AT THIS!! LOOK AT THIS???
It’s a clusterfunk of a page.
It’s titled “Con sua” (the general word for jellyfish), but the page seems to talk specifically about Scyphozoa? But the orders (That’s what I think “Cac bo” is referring to) are... intelligible.
There are 3 extant orders in Scyphozoa as of late, that being orders Coronatae, Semaeostomeae, and Rhizostomeae.
Order Rhizostomeae, despite being widely eaten and somewhat popular around East and Southeastern Asia, is absent from here.
Two mysterious orders I haven’t even heard about are here as well, for some reason???
Anyways, searching them up on the English google didn’t get me anything exactly, but these seem to coincide with extinct fossil groups that have been speculated to be in class Scyphozoa at some point... (the wiki itself tells me this as well with some bits that I put through a translator lol)

Thought about oc names in terms of waterfowl
Got told to keep it real in red text by my phone calculator cus I tried to square root a negative number (dunno that it made me happy but I did laugh)
