This has been on my mind lately
But what SpongeBob characters do you think the BG3 companions are? Here’s my list (in this case relationships with other SpongeBob characters do not matter, I’m only comparing due to their personalities and traits lol)
1) SpongeBob = Karlach, no question
2) Patrick = Minsc
3) Mr. Krabs = Ketheric
4) Sandy = Jaheira but could also be Gale
5) Squidward = Astarion
6) Squilliam Fancyson = Ascended Astarion
7) Pearl = Isobel but could also be Shadowheart (Isobel only makes sense because Mr Krabs is Ketheric)
8) Gary = Tara
9) Larry the Lobster = HALSIN FOR SURE
10) The Flying Dutchman = Ethel disguised as the Captain in the Blushing Mermaid
11) King Triton = Wyll Ravengard
12) Plankton = Gortash
13) King Neptune = Duke Ravengard
14) Man Ray = Durge
15) Karen = Minthara
16) Bubble Buddy = Also Wyll
17) The Sea Bear = Also Halsin
18) The Tattletale Strangler = Cazador
19) Mrs Puff = Lae’Zel
20) The Hot Sauce Bottle from season 1 that burned SpongeBob’s tongue = Raphael
21) Patchy the Pirate = Orin (it’s because of the chaotic energy I have no other way to explain it 😭)
22) Robot Krabs = Apostle of Myrkul

The Dionysos gallery (4)
We finally reach the end of this long Dionysos series - and after dissecting the myth of Dionysos, we reach the conclusion of this gallery, kindly offered by the French Museum of Wine (you can find it all here).
First, I will include there the various paintings I did not have enough space to add in previous post, two paintings coupled with an analysis section I will loosely translate.
Le Tintoret's Ariadne, Venus and Bacchus
The motif of the encounter between Bacchus and Ariadne (who had been abandonned by Theseus on the island of Naxos) and Bacchus' offer to the woman of her famous gold crown made by Vulcan (according to Ovid's Fasts), has been a strong recurring motif in paintings, explored by numerous artists.
"Liber" or "Liber Pater" was originally a fertility/fecundity god whose worship took place within the oldest era of Ancient Rome. By the 7th century BCE onward Liber was associated with wine, and as a result the Romans ended up assimilating him with Bacchus/Dionysos. "Liber" as such became a mere Latin translation of the terms "Dionysos" or "Bacchus" - "Pater" meanwhile kept its role of expressing respect and adoration towards a god.
Jan van Bijlert's The Feast of the Gods
This 1630 painting currently kept at the Magnin Museum (Dijon) asks a quite troubling question: is this pagan scene... secretly a Christian Last Supper?
We are on Olympus. The gods are gathered for a feast. On the left we see Minerva, Diana, Mars and Venus, with Cupid by their side and Flora behind them. At the center of the table, a crowned Apollo appears holding his lyre. To the right we can recognize Hercules thanks to his mace, and Neptune with his trident. Unfortunately several of the Olympians are missing due to the painting having been cut off: for example there is a peacock, but no side of Juno. The motif of the "feast of the gods" was very popular in Holland, ever since an engraving by Goltzius "The Wedding of Psyche and Love" (see below).
However, van Bijlert's painting can be read very differently. In the Netherlands, due to the appearance and domination of Protestantism, all pictures had been banished from the temples, putting an end to the religious painting. As such, it seems that this painting hides within it a Christian scene of the Last Supper. Apollo at the center has the same halo as the Christ usualy has, and the characters surrounding him are twelve in total like the Apostles. Now, while it is a very interesting theory, we should stay careful. As we said before, it seems the reason some of the gods are missing is because the painting was cut (a practice very common at the time) - again, there's this peacock that implies Juno used to be included. Second element: yes the Christ has a golden halo in painting to symbolize his role as the Lord of the Heavens, but long before that, the idea of a halo of light did belong to Apollo. The Greeks saw him as the "solar god" by excellence, since he was the power that ruled and organized all things, and the one that regulated spirits and intelligences (in fact, he was complementary of Dionysos since Apollo tamed, controlled and shaped the vital force and bursts of life embodied by Dionysos).
Bijlert lived in Rome in the beginning of the 1620s and we know that, just like many of his fellow painters, he was deeply impressed by the art of Caravaggio. However, the Italian painter's fame was dwindling by then - and by the 1630s his art had lost any influence over European paintings. In this decade, Bijlert focused his works on the new international trend, the classicism. Here the composition of the panting and the diurnal luminosity are purely classicist. However, the dancing satyr and the leaning Bacchus on the foreground belong to the "naturalism" of Caravaggio: ocre-colored flesh, close-ups on bodies in non-conventional positions...
(Here is Goltzius' engraving)
Second part of this post, extending from the analysis above: Christianized Dionysos! Because yes, you might be surprised to learn that the motif of Dionysos/Bacchus in classical painting was heavily Christianized or syncretized with Christian figures...
Leonardo da Vinci's Saint John the Baptist
This Saint John the Baptiste has what has been called a "pagan beauty", and this painting with a Tuscany imagery "renews the syncretism of the patron of Florence" - perhaps due to the passion for Antiquity the town had when the painting was created. Indeed, while saint John here holds a cross symbolizing the Passion of the Christ, he is dressed in a panther's skin, reminding of the cloak of Bacchus...
Leonardo da Vinci's atelier: Saint John the Baptist-Bacchus
Once again this painting shows the syncretism between the figure of saint John and the character of Dionysos. The painting was first recorded, in the royal archives, as "Saint John in the desert". However, at the end of the 17th century, perhaps due to a restoration of the painting, the name was changed to "Bacchus in a landscape". Here we have Christian symbols: a finger raised to the sky, a stag resting on the ground... But we also have Bacchic attribute: a thyrsus, grapes, a panther's skin, and a crown of what might be ivy or vine-leaves.
Caravaggio's Saint John the Baptist
Here again we have the attributes of Bacchus: the vine, of which Bacchus was the god, and a ram, an animal traditionally sacrificed for the deity. Historians of painting are agreeing that the reason the Caravaggio associated John the Baptiste with Bacchus was because it allowed him to depict the saint naked, and eroticized, very probably to reflect his own homosexuality.
Caravaggio's "Sick young Bacchus/ The ill little Bachus"
This panting of Caravaggio has been interpreted as a self-portrait in a Bacchus-Christ fusion that is very sexual. Here, Caravaggio offers himself to the libertine cardinals of Rome, in an erotic "communion" (remember, "eucharis", means "the good flesh"). The action of carrying to his lips golden grapes gorged with juice is very sensual. Crowned with ivy, dressed in an ancient toga (which reveals a muscular shoulder), he is holding green grapes to his chest, as if he was about to press them. It has been thought that there the Greek wine of Dionysos is a mask or assimilation for the wine of the Christian mass - the invitation is for always a greater feast and bigger celebration, the wine of the Christ "subliming" the wine of Bacchus, ultimately becoming the wine an "universal mass" beyond any religion or era.
Giovanni Paolo Lomazzo's "Self portrait as a crowned Bacchus"
This painting depicts Giovanni Paolo Lomazzo in his outfit of president (called an "abbot") of the Acacademia della Val di Blenio (Ticino) - Lomazzo had just been named to this function, as the inscription at the bottom of the picture reminds the viewer. The Academy gathered all the best artists of Milan - painters, sculptors, musicians... And it was placed under the protection and patronage of Bacchus, the god that relieves from sorrows and worries, the god that inspires joy, the god that stimulates the mind and the creation, the god that frees from bondage. As such, it explains why this self-portrait has Lomazzo as Bacchus. It was an answer to the many disasters of the era, as well as to the new austerity imposed by the figures of the Counter-Reform - such as Charles Borromée, who was the archbishop of Milan and a cardinal within the Catholic church.
The Bacchic references are numerous here. The hat is wrapped in a garland of laurel and vine, with a medallion depicting vine too. There is a thyrsus surrounded in ivy. And finally there is a goat-skin, reminding of how when he was a child Bacchus was turned into a "kid" (baby goat) to avoid Juno's wrath. The compass however within the man's hand is not a symbol of Bacchus. Held like a paint-brush, it is meant to symbolize how Lomazzo "leads" and "drives" his own career like a captain would pilot his ship.

New Apple
(Also Known as: Nott Broke, I am now writing the WKTD-Amane Cross Analysis. This is also the Trans Amane Momose Thesis)
(CWs: Cults, Child Abuse, Child Death, Body Horror, Homophobia, Transphobia.)
(Spoilers for We Know The Devil and Milgram.)
I am a unrepentant fan of the Visual Novel We Know The Devil. I love it dearly, I think it's one of the best Things ever made.
I am also a...fan, to say the least, of Amane Momose. I think about her every day. And as a result I've thought about these two things together a lot. I think there's a lot of thematically cohesion that can be derived from putting the two together.
Since this is Milgram Focused, I'm going to put an explanation for what the plot of WKTD is first before continuing.
WKTD is a 2015 VN about Three Bad Kids at a Christian Summer Camp who are sent to meet The Devil one day in a cabin in the woods. This game is about Queer Religious Horror and has great prose and you should play it-
Now, there are already comparisons that can be drawn to Amane's cult and the game's main premise, but let's discuss each of the three kids first.
No Prince For The Princesses
Starting with Jupiter. Jupiter is the tomboyish good kid of the bunch or, more accurately, tries her best to be the good kid to minimal success.
Laughing off a head injury isn't all that Jupiter's good at; she has the best grades in class, and coaches make her starter on whatever team has the most pressing need for someone who can do sports. She's a perfect role model, except for how she always misses the winning goal and she always blanks on the last question. She leads when no one else wants to, which is always.
Jupiter can keep up until right when it matters the most. It's here where I mention Jupiter snaps a hairband against her wrist, a common tactic used as an alternative to self-harm.
Her place in the dysfunctional group of problem kids becoming clear as her issues with being the perfect good kid and her immense self-hate and loathing start to seep through. Jupiter struggles under this weight of expectations and pleasing others but tries to pretend she an:
Neptune: ascetic monk at not giving a shit.
To her own detriment, she hangs out with the Worst Group in the Camp of Worst Kids just so she can get them to stay away from her. If they just like her enough then they won't bother her. Even if she personally dislikes them and how they act.
Not that she...enjoys acting like this. She's disgusted by the idea of the Counselor liking her. Because:
Jupiter: He likes people he can make a little uncomfortable and won't give any trouble about it.
Though as Venus says, that's exactly why he likes their group.
Jupiter is someone who's resigned to reality being like this. To being considered a bad kid even though she tried so hard. Sure it's unfair and people have tried a lot less than her but:
Jupiter: You can still get better at this, if you try, you know?
Even I can say "I'm sorry" Even I have hope I swear! I'm going to be a good girl now! That's it!
Anyway, Jupiter Kisses Girls. She Likes Women. She's a Lesbian. She has a Seven Minutes in Heaven Scene with Neptune where they Kiss-
That kiss having a lot of relevance to how (specifically) a t1 Amane attempts to approach certain taboo ideas and concepts.
Jupiter: It's not real if we don't say it out loud, right?
Amane tends to talk around things in T1. It's not immediately noticeable but it's prevalent in a lot of her speak. Specifically when taboo ideas come into play. Instead of saying anything directly she talks around it.
(Apostle and Death)
Amane: Okay! I’m kind, so I shall forgive you. That’s nice, isn’t it? If my parents were in my place, you would have been lectured for another hour.
This is my favorite example, as Amane is just calling her parents unkind here. But, Amane isn't really good at talking around things. In the same VD, when faced with the knoweldge that she's being underestimated she immdieatly talks about her genuine feelings about being treated like a child, and being talked down to because of it. Being very forward and open about her own emotions.
Outside of that we have instances of her showing interest in things that are believed to be taboo, or at least in things discouraged by her community.
(20/06/27, Amane’s Birthday)
Amane: I don’t need it. I’ll gratefully accept your well-wishes, but I don’t eat things like that. Also…… Shidou-san, I can’t say I’m especially fond of the way you assume that all children will love frivolous things like this. Shidou: ………… Is that so… I apologise. I’m sure everyone else will be happy to eat it, so don’t worry about it. Sorry for intruding. Amane: ………… ……cake……
She even disrespects the blue flag in Purge March, the flag representing "discarding vulgarity"
Considering both how a lot of the generally aesthetics of Magic and Purge March seem to be considered frivolous. And her being forbidden to go to an amusement park.
T1Q5:When you go to an amusement park, what do you like to ride? A: That is a place I should not go to.
I think we can infer that these things are consider vulgar and wanting them anyway. She wants something outside of what she has. Something that she tries to Hide in her interrogations. (Interrogations)
T1Q3: If you were allowed to do anything, what would you want to do? Nothing really. I am not lacking anything.
T1Q17: What would you do if the world ends tomorrow? If everything ends? Then, I might do all sorts of things I have never done before.
(Put a pin in these interros, we are Going to come back to them.)
It's wrong to want such a thing, she knows this well. That's why she doesn't say it out loud. It's not real until she does. No one can punish her for it if she doesn't say anything.
Except...they Do. Same with Jupiter, people who didn't try as hard to get into the "proper, good girl" summer scouts got in when Jupiter didn't. Amane studies so hard and yet she only gets a 83% when Kotoko is tutoring her.
(20/06/18)
Kotoko: There, I’ve finished marking. 83%. How do I put it… Even though you act like this, it’s not like you’re super brilliant at studying or anything, huh.
She just blanks at the last question.
Misses the winning goal.
Something about Her is...inherently holding them back from this illustrious standard of being a good girl. It's just, impossible for her to be one. She knows this herself.
Only if, only if, only if I could be a good girl
And even though she tries, she Can't do anything to change that. In the same way that no matter how hard Jupiter tries, people instinctively understand that she's something Other somehow. The both of them being harmed over and over again in an attempt to live up to ideals that they will...never be able to live up to.
The system of We Know The Devil works like this, you choose two kids and leave one behind each hour. Leave one behind enough and they become the devil. The worst kid out of all of them.
Jupiter does her best but her best is never going to be enough. So if she gets excluded enough times...
Even the best kid has the devil inside her.
Jupiter wants to touch, to hit, to pull.
Venus: I wish I could be meaner. I wish I could be so much meaner.
She's never going to be able to make up for this incessant greedy Want.
Her hairband snaps here, she can't keep the devil away for much longer, and she knows it.
Jupiter: You know, I actually liked when the captain talked about how heaven was on merit; as long as you do good things, maybe you can one day be good… Jupiter: But then they said we don’t believe that anymore and it’s only what’s in your heart that matters. Jupiter: Just when I think I got it right, they changed it. Jupiter: I can try hard, but I think… Jupiter: God knows my heart isn’t really in it. And that was my only shot, right?
Amane considers love a showcase of mercy,
T2Q9: What does love mean to you? A: To spread mercy with no limits.
And considers her punishments love.
T2Q2: Do you believe you were loved? A: Very much deeply.
I suppose when you think about it, trying to beat the devil out of someone is mercy.
But, you can't really do anything about it if someone does want the devil.
Jupiter: It's wrong to want such a thing, you know that, don't you? So don't do it. I still know that much.
In each color ending, the devil gets destroyed. The devil only getting one moment for whatever they wanted.
For revenge, for love, for "please take me back."
One Singular Moment to live as they are before having it burnt out of them.
...Someone had to have opened that door at the end of Purge March
(Milgram T1 Glitched Character Voicelines)
Amane: Ahh! I'm so sorry...! I'm sorry...! I'm sorry for breaking the rules!
Lukewarm, I Spit You Out
We have more bad kids to go through, so let's talk Neptune.
Neptune is, to be blunt, a self-proclaimed bitch. She doesn't act like she's supposed to belong her which is exactly why she belongs here. She uses profanities, sneaks alcohol into the camp, and the summary of this game calls her a mean girl. Though this meanness of hers betrays a certain amount of care and worry for her group, or, at least they like to think of it that way:
Neptune is very kind or possibly super mean and hates us. But that's okay. She's really funny.
This kindness of hers comes out in many ways. She's concerned for Jupiter, trying to get her to actually give a shit about herself, especially when she does so much work.
Neptune: I mean like, aren't you doing fine? Neptune: Aren't you trying harder than literally everyone else here? Neptune: You're so chill about everyone's bullshit it makes me so mad and then you won't extend even the slightest of that chill to yourself and that makes me EVEN SO MADDER. Neptune: Can't you just be a little less…good?
And wants Venus to get out of his egg, to let himself be a bit of a bitch, and stop apologizing for himself when he is doing nothing wrong.
Neptune: Wait, I got it. I dare you to not say sorry for the rest of the night. Jupiter: Oh my god. Venus: I can do that! Jupiter: …can he though? Neptune: No it's perfect. Neptune: It'll fix something annoying, and this will make everyone's life easier, and all of us win. Venus: Is it really annoying? Neptune: You shouldn't have to apologize for things you don't need to apologize for.
Neptune deeply cares about the people around her, it just comes out as harsh words and actions. She wants to make Jupiter's life a living hell so that she's forced to say that it hurts.
Neptune: People are supposed to get hurt by things. It's fucked up to not. It's not good for you.
Though, as Venus calls out, the way Neptune acts doesn't fully come from self-confidence.
Venus: ...your problem Neptune is. Venus: You think being mean is more honest. Venus: But you're just as bad as Jupiter. Venus: And me.
Neptune, like the other two, deeply hates herself. Like Jupiter she has a consistent "tell" that shows she's the devil. She throws up this black ichor-like substance. Poison really. The only thing she can say. She's a bad kid through and through.
Now, Amane is self-proclaimed annoying.
Es: Regardless of whether you’re a child or an adult… you are beyond annoying. Amane: Oh, my. I am honored by your praise. Es: As I said. Amane: (giggles)
She takes Real Pride in being, a little shit to people.
20/06/03
Fuuta: ……huh? What’s your problem? You’re just leaving all your meat? What a weird kid. Amane: You say that, but you’re not eating all of your food either. ……are you not able to eat your vegetables? Even though you’re an adult. Fuuta: Huh, what, so you’re just eating grass? What are you, a rabbit or something? Since you’re just a brat, you should be eating your meat properly. You won’t grow if you don’t. Amane: ……you make some really funny jokes, don’t you, Fuuta-san.
This behavior is mostly present in T1, mostly cause T1 is Amane's testing period. She's trying to see what she can get away with. These behaviors disappearing by T2 because she learns that she can't get away with much. Introducing us to a less playful, more angry and genuinely despairing Amane. (Of Blessedness and Punishment)
Amane: This is unforgivable! I won’t forgive you! (screams)
That isn't to say Amane doesn't genuinely want to help out though, even with her more aggressive attitude. In fact she goes out of her way to "help" Fuuta and responds to Yuno's questions and worries honestly and patiently.
(23/06/27, Amane’s Birthday)
Yuno: By the way, Amane. Have you ever wished you were never born? I’ve thankfully lived a pretty fun life so far, so haven’t really. But you seem to be struggling with something. So I kinda wondered if you thought like that. Amane: ……I don’t think that. Being born into this world is the first miracle any person experiences, and is something to celebrate. Even if after birth I was put through trial after trial, the value of that will never disappear.
Amane is kind, genuinely so. She helps the cat, she tries her best to "guide" people back to the better path. The problem is, is that her want to help gets tied up in her community and her worldview. Causing more harm than she would like, it's almost like she can only spit out doctrine when that isn't the case.
Amane: Hm. Is that so? Are the prisoners who weren’t forgiven feeling lost right now? Maybe they need our faith as well.
Outside of that, Amane is rather opinionated, she tries to keep it down but it seeps out anyway. She's expressed numerous times her frustration with being treated like a child (ie: being treated like she has no rights of her own.) And expresses that openly and bluntly.
(20/06/13)
Shidou: I…… I just don’t understand. If everything about MILGRAM is true…… why did a child like you have to become a murderer? Just imagining what sort of circumstances must have led to that, it makes me so sad…… Amane: ……*sigh*. Is that right. I don’t think I’m going to get along with you, Shidou-san.I don’t agree with the fact you refuse to acknowledge that I have my own free will, and that I should be held accountable for my actions, just because I’m a child. I may have only been alive for 12 years, but all the choices I’ve made, even if they weren’t the best ones, were entirely my own. What point is there in you getting sad when I have no regrets myself?
It's easy to call her annoying or petulant for this, especially when Shidou (seemingly) is just concerned for how how a child is in prison of murders. And again she Does act annoying on purpose.
But Shidou is being actively patronizing and forcing his view of Amane Onto her. When Amane rebukes this, instead of apologizing or reevaluating he dismisses what she says. Something that deeply frustrates her.
Neptune: I'm an evil bad slut right? I'm a bitch and a flirt. Neptune: I'm a bitch because I let people know when they walk over me. Neptune: I'm a flirt because boys keep talking at me. Neptune: And this is somehow my problem, because they can't get over themselves and leave me alone? Neptune: How is that fair? Why should I get hurt by that? It makes me so mad! Neptune: Why would I be anything but MAD about all this stupid obnoxious BULLSHIT.
You’re sorry? I don’t care! Please, go ahead and die already Remember MY cries, MY repents, MY words of “I’m sorry” that I said to you?
Amane cares a lot about being treated Properly, about the people around her being treated Properly. She can't really...accept injustice. She broke one of her cult's doctrines because she wanted wrap up what was probably a Small Wound at worst judging by the state of the cat. She's not going to waver just because the people around her believe otherwise.
Amane: ……I’m fine. I don’t know what you’ve done or what it is you’re worried about, but I think if there’s something you believe in, you should stay true to it. It’s not something that should waver just because other people said something. I personally don’t plan on changing my own beliefs even if I’m told I’m wrong either……
Amane believes in the idea that people can get better, and wants to see people get better even if she can't. She's going to help even if she has to be Violent to do so.
Neptune: You asked me to come out. So I'm coming out. The door opens and it's her but it's not her She grabs Venus and crushes him against the wall like he's a little doll.
Amane: Don’t you think it’s a good opportunity to be reborn? If, right now, you could shake off those around you trying to drag you down to depravity, and could change––
When Neptune's the devil she forcibly tries to turn the other two kids into the devil alongside with her. She knows this whole situation is a nightmare and wants to force the two into accepting who they really are, even if it meant hurting them.
Why should they be the ones to suffer when their trying so hard to be good? Why should they be suffering when they already ARE good?
Neptune: Doesn't it feel unfair? You're already good, so why do you have to try so hard to be good? It makes me mad. They want you to prove you're good. But you're already so good. What is that? Why do they do that?
We must not give into them, they are the ones that should be judged
Why does She need to prove that she's righteous when the people around her can break the same rules she does and get away with no consequences?
I don’t need it any more, if you’re going to break your vow Here and now, it’s my turn to tear you apart
It's just so Unfair. Why is she the one getting hurt for no good reason? Why was the cat the one who got hurt for something that wasn't even its fault? It's just not right. None of this is right.
Neptune: Does that kid look happy to you? Well I guess we have different opinions and you will have to stop me from making him into what he is trying very hard not to be.
Help Me God, I'm In Love
We have one more kid to go through.
Venus is known for being very much a doormat, and very easy to push around. A small detail when their sitting down to listen to the Bonfire Captain's story is that Venus tries his best not to take up space.
Venus sits with his legs crossed, taking up as little space as he can, which is at most not very much.
And As mentioned before he constantly apologizes for himself, even when it isn't even his fault. That dare Neptune gives him? He immdieatly fails it, the sorry is an instinct, he does it automatically.
Though even then, Venus is known to be...a bit of a little shit. Maybe even quite Mean. He has a bite to his words and can be extremely judgemental. Not that he seems to notice .
Jupiter: Do you think he notices how much of a jerk he is sometimes? Neptune: I wish.
Amane: An arts university, though…… Does that mean you’re good at drawing, then? It may be a bit rude to say, but that’s rather unexpected.
(I Love how Amane implies that she thought Mikoto was too boring to be an artist. Incredible.)
Not only that but he's strongly opinionated, often surprising the people around him with them and how pointed and critical he can be. The people around him being so used to how shy and docile he seems.
Jupiter: Why not you. You're safe. You're like a puppy. You're harmless. Venus: …did you lose your nerve? Jupiter: Except when you talk.
He doesn't mean to be mean on purpose, he doesn't even like being mean, but it just comes out of him. He can't stop himself. He's so angry and bitter about certain things that his real feelings bleed out of him.
Neptune: Wow Venus I'm ALMOST impressed. Neptune: You are, deep down, kind of a little shit. Venus: I didn't mean it in a mean way. I wasn't teasing. Neptune: That's so much worse, Venus. Venus: I guess I just don't get it? Venus: I don't like being mean and I don't want to be mean so I try really hard not to be mean. Venus: I don't get any of the 'just kidding' because it's not just kidding.
But Venus is easy to pick on, he smiles weirdly, he tries his best to avoid causing too much conflict, and the idea that Venus is "not like the other boys" get floated around pretty early depending on what interactions you chose, and Jupiter and Neptune discuss this their 10AM interaction:
Neptune: Are you seriously worried about him? Jupiter: Maybe. A little. Jupiter: He's weird. Not in a bad way, necessarily? Jupiter: But maybe in a bad way, possibly. Jupiter: Sometimes I don't even know what he is.
Jackalope: That isn’t even really Amane Momose anymore. You’ve awakened something much bigger.
There's something....different about Venus, like Jupiter and Neptune before him. Everyone can tell, and thus treats him differently for it but he's just not exactly sure what that...Is.
And it's so Frustrating.
Venus: …I don't know what's wrong with me.
Venus: But I can't. Not when it comes to this. Jupiter: What is "this"? Venus: Whatever they want out of me that's not fixing radios. Venus: To be tougher? To grow up? To-what's that?
He's jealous, so deeply jealous of Jupiter and Neptune and he doesn't even know why.
Venus: I'm mad about a lot of things I guess. Jupiter: Liar Jupiter: You're not mad. Jupiter: You're jealous. Jupiter: Why are you so jealous. Jupiter: It's flattering. But it's weird. Venus: I don't know.
Muu: ……hey, are you listening to me? What are you staring at……? Amane: I’m not staring at anything. Muu: Liar, you definitely are……
Amane: ……cake……
He wants...something from them, he doesn't know what but it's something important to him. Something that would make him feel like he's himself and not...whatever he is. It's not even like he necessarily minds being different. He doesn't even think he can be anything else.
Venus: I know I'm bad at getting anyone to like me and I'm weird and everyone else can deal even though I can't, but I can't. Venus: I'm just going to be like this. I'm not going to be any different. Jupiter: You're asking to get beat up. Venus: I don't care.
T2Q20: How do you feel about you not being like everyone else? A: Nevertheless I was born as myself, so I'm happy.
This deep want appears in Everything he does. Everything he does is to somehow get that Thing he Wants the Most. He can attribute it to something else but everyone can tell he wants Something.
Neptune: Venus, your problem is that you are very nice. But you want something. And you think being nice is going to give it to you. But it never will. And until you figure out what it is you want. Every kindness of yours will be full of that want.
Amane: Ah, I am looking forward to it! Seeing whether your judgement will align with that of these higher standards! If that is the case, maybe Milgram would be the right world for us to live in, rather than the outside world!
Milgram relies on your judgement, isn’t that right? In that case, you could become the mediator for a far more righteous world!!
That isn't to say he Isn't afraid of being found out. Of having the kind of person he is being revealed. In a game of truth or dare he chooses dare because:
Venus: I mean, it's kinda like Jupiter said? Truth is embarrassing and dares could get you hurt. Getting hurt is way less scary.
But then the contradiction of this gets pointed out to him, people can be embarrassing with dares as well. It's easy to hurt and embarrass someone.
I've already mentioned that Amane hides...a lot, she tends to talk around things and use double meanings and what not. But she also doesn't want to seem frivolous or wasteful. She wants to stay seeming mature and smart and pure. Being immature is dangerous to her, another reason for people to view her as useless and weak. Another reason to get hurt.
She isn't that. She can prove it. She's not greedy or materialistic.
Venus: I don't want to be strong. I don't want to be that sort of person at all.
She doesn't want anything.
Venus: I want them within me and without me. All through and about me. I want feathers in my lungs and eyes on my skin. I want my heart to see and my lungs to fly.
Nothing at all.
T1Q17: What would you do if the world ends tomorrow? If everything ends? Then, I might do all sorts of things I have never done before.
This is when I reveal Venus is Trans.
Venus is Trans! She uses She/Her, I've been using He/Him for her previously to reveal she's trans like how the VN reveals she's trans.
Venus wants to reveal the truth, to be seen as she is, to have:
That wing to see the truth and that eye to lay it bare.
She wants to be honest and live as herself. To really Be Her. When she becomes the devil she says it's nobody's fault but hers. She wants this. She wants this so much.
She's not doing it cause she was forced or coerced she did it cause she Wanted To. She wanted to do it so badly. She does it with such glee it's honestly terrifying. She killed out of hate and duty and Enjoyed It.
The devil is lonely. We kicked out the devil and it must miss us. It keeps begging to be let back, to let it in.
And Amane Did.
Smoke and Honey
Amane Momose is undeniably monster-coded.
Jackalope: That isn’t even really Amane Momose anymore. You’ve awakened something much bigger.
Amane: Right now, I am both Amane Momose and I am not. I am speaking on behalf of our faith.
Amane: Yes. It is only natural for a person(/human) to apologize to another for breaking a promise. Es: … Amane: Why are you looking so doubtful? Are you not human?
This happy pinky promise hurts to break
There's so much to discuss that if I did do it in detail we would get so set off track very badly, but Amane Momose is Other. She's the Other, she's not human. She's never Been Human. Atleast not by the standards of her cult.
In the Milgram Cat Symbolism, Cats has been highly associated with sin. Yuno portrays her cat self as the most honest but also sinful version of herself. Kazui does the same. Amane being the cat, implicates her as a sinful force in the world. Something dangerous and terrifying that needs to be destroyed.
Amane Momose, somehow, is a threat to normal human existence (at least in the existence of the cult.) She's too opinionated, too dedicated, too Bad of a kid. Having her exist at all as she is, is a threat. She doesn't Want to stop being herself, she's supposed to want to stop. Humans aren't supposed to act like she acts. What if that stubbornness was directed at something against the cult?
Adults also hate perfect kids who love the world so much they can't stop themselves from saving it.
We Need to Destory The Devil No Matter What or Who it is. To choose someone to act as the scapegoat, the worst girl, the one kid too weird, too strange, too threatening.
What does Amane do? She's already a liability, just a child, useless and unhelpful. What if she was destructive? Better to teach her now to be better, right?
It's not like she isn't destructive, it's true. She does harm. Horrible harm actually. I completely understand wanting to restrain her for those reasons.
But, she had One Moment, and it was ripped away from her.
Jupiter: If I taste what it's like, I know, there's no way I'll be happy being human ever again.
I Wonder what else is left for her now.
#milgram#cw child abuse#amane momose#cw cults#milgram analysis#milgram meta#it is MIDNIGHT#I wrote this in Two Days and Two Long Sessions#Im telling you guys this VN is important reading for Amane Momose purposes#I also dont know how to beta read theres probably a quadrillion mistakes

Why Ju Peter Is The Secret Traitor of The Gorosei
youtube comments
Also Ju peter being agriculture is interesting since it also ties in with the shepherd imagery. Agriculture is interesting since it was the key development for sedentary human civilisation and the best definition for it is “the science of cultivating land, producing crops and raising livestock”
I also think Ju Peter is a reference to Christian figures Judas and Peter, Jesus’ apostles. Judas betrayed Jesus and Peter denied he knew Jesus 3 times - so might indeed be a nod to him being a traitor! In the Bible, Saint Peter denied Jesus 3x to save his own ass, and ended up repenting.
What if Ju Peter was a representative from Joy Boy’s country who betrayed him, and wants to seek forgiveness by betraying the Gorosei?
Top hats are related to freemasons
zeus (Jupiter) was the youngest child of Kronos that was hidden in Gaia (earth) like a worm of some sort and was fed goats milk (shepherd… kinda reaching here) and helps to free his siblings and start the wars of the titans.
am i on to something that’s probably in related video

when the 5 elders demon forms were introduced in egghead, there was but one reason in my mind to believe that ju peter was a traitor but that one reason which made me think that ju peter was gonna be on joyboys side was sadly not mentioned in your video. its the x. which looks same as the x on laboon and the whales we saw in the new world, also looks like the x on luffys chest. he covers his scar on his human body but i bet its an x on his right breast, symbolizing his position of not being in the center(right side) but lost.
I would like to point out that the planet ju peter was named after the roman god jupiter the brother to pluto and neptune ( who form a trio) and their greek equivalent was zeus ,hades and POSEIDON) the ancient weapons that were with the allies of joyboy

4th-7th july
I had no time to linger in the beauty of Venice on the morning I left. Leaving my keys in the door to my room, I crossed back over the Rialto for the last time to Venezia S. Lucia, subsumed by a crowd of mostly Americans either arriving or taking off, followed by their small entourages of children and suitcases. After a bit of cross-language miscommunication I managed to order a croissant and a cappuccino from the station café and board my train to Florence. Our carriage was overflowing with Americans—their endless complaints and random commentary brought all the chaos of the station on board with us. Behind me one large blonde family fought over where to put their truckload of suitcases, the mother loudly accusing the carriage of taking their luggage spots; in front of me a Mississippi woman and her two daughter all one by one took out their makeup bags to apply a full face as the train moved; they bonded with a couple from Detroit with their young children over bottles of wine from the train café. All of this at eleven in the morning with only a two-hour trip to Florence seemed really unnecessary, but once they got started there was no icy glare from the older German woman beside me that could stop them. I suppose it was July 4th (“our country’s birthday!”, as the luggage-afflicted mother exclaimed at some point), so they were bound to be excitable.
Arriving in Florence I escaped these travelling companions and decided to walk as fast as I possibly could to my accommodation—I was already so sweaty and miserable that it seemed worth it to get it other with as soon as possible. The pavements were very narrow and well-patronised and the only relief was when I arrived upon the square of a church and was able to walk without risking any imminent collisions. My accommodation in Florence is a bed and breakfast on one of the streets that leads to the Duomo in the primordial soup of the tourist. I climbed to the first floor where I was greeted by one of my hosts and given some tips about the city until her husband came her with a very tearful child who needed a hug and I left them to it. My room is small and quiet, with an old-fashioned lock on the door I find too difficult to operate so I only close it behind me, and at least somewhat cool. When I settled enough to face going back out there to see Florence, I walked only twenty seconds down the street before I reached the piazza where the Duomo towered in its stark lines of white and deep blue-green, decorated everywhere with the saints and apostles, imposing on the cloudless sky. I admired it for a bit and then kept walking in search of a late lunch, given I’d eaten nothing since breakfast and had faced many tests to my fortitude in the meanwhile. Around the corner from the Palazzo Vecchio where I saw the Fountain of Neptune and a terrace of marble statues I skipped the absolutely huge line of tourists for one focaccia shop for the sake of the other focaccia shop next door, which was delicious and arrived instantly.
My next Florence mission, not so glamorous, was to do my clothes washing since I had nothing left to wear. So I sat sweating an a dingy laundromat until I could seize any empty machine. While I waited I walked around the corner to get a scoop of gelato—lemon flavour, an old favourite of mine that I don’t think I’d tried in a long time. I hauled my damp laundry back to hang up in my room and then flopped on the bed under the ceiling fan for a good long while. For dinner that night I did as my host had suggested and went across the river to eat at the better restaurants. On the way I saw the apparently well-known “Florence cowboy”, who was a man in appropriate Old West attire just sitting on his horse at one end of the bridge. Not moving, not saying anything. This man and his horse were as still and regal as the marble statues of Florence. And when I was coming back from my dinner of wild boar ragu and tiramisu at a very charming little restaurant beyond the Pitti Palace, he was still there, motionless as ever as the masses of tourists flowed around him and his steed. When I passed back by the Duomo, its walls were gold instead of ivory in the low sun.
My first morning in Florence I woke up especially early for my entrance to the Uffizi Gallery. While I sat outside waiting for my time slot I ate an apricot jam croissant and examined my rash of mosquito bites still raised on my arms and legs from Venice that made it look I had caught some type of plague. But at quarter to nine I left this study behind for the security line into the Uffizi, from there me and the other early patrons filed into the first rooms containing medieval altarpieces of the Madonna and Child. But everyone was really there for one reason—the signs on doors leading through the renaissance galleries and the halls and terraces of Greco-Roman busts for Botticelli. I wasn't an exception to these mob interests, for a long time Botticelli's Primavera has been an important work to me for no less populist reasons than most who show up in droves to photograph the Birth of Venus. It meant a great deal to me to see it with my own eyes, its soft forest floor and canopy rich with fruit and flower—and the figures, whose placement is not natural in the landscape, but iconographic. I was also touched by the Calumny of Apelles adjacent; of course the Birth of Venus had a room of its own, or at least any pictures of Botticelli’s on the surrounding walls went unnoticed by the crowd or by me. Outside in the long galleries I admired most of all the frescoed ceilings, some of which showed scenes of myth while others were of the grotesque style, strange creatures and pretty laurels painted on white and cream. What I found was that the rest of the Uffizi rooms downstairs were oddly quiet, not that I blame any person for really only coming to see the Botticellis. So after the initial stampede through the first ten rooms it became a very peaceful and civilised affair, most visitors not bothering with the lower galleries in the first place. By then it was still only ten o’clock, so even the gift shop was quiet as I secured my Primavera postcard and looked towards the rest of the day.
Feeling inspired, I committed to a hike up the hill on the other side of the river, reaching the summit of the old Belvedere fort where I could stand in the searing heat and look out across the city of Florence, white walls and the red-tiled roofs above them, and the Duomo rising most prominent between them, five times taller than the rest. From there I walked on dripping sweat to the Bardini gardens for a bit of shade under the trees in the muggy air, wishing I were one of so many little yellow-spotted skinks baking on the walls, accustomed to heat. I drank a limonata on ice on the terrace of the gardens overlooking the sloping green and the city beyond it. Two dark red squirrels played in the tree by the terrace, running in circles around the thickest branches before disappearing back into their hidden nest. Besides the cranes from restoration works dotting the skyline, the city seemed at a distance to be as it was five hundred years prior.
The illusion of course was shattered the moment I descended into the visitor centre on the gardens’ lower perimeter and came across a vending machine, but I didn’t mind so much, I enjoys the comforts of the modern world. For lunch I had a panini with anchovies and olive tapenade and crossed back over the river into the heart of the crowded city. I happened to pass by the Basilica of Santa Croce and decided to take a look inside at the paintings and the tombs of Florentine intellectuals. The basilica was beautiful within, frescoes still pretty and warmly coloured despite the ruination they suffered in floods some thirty years ago.
I got a scoop of gelato (stracciatella), I went back to my apartment for a rest before dinner. I worked out where to go for a bowl of pasta while standing outside a basilica ringing the evening bells—a street preacher came up to me babbling in Italian, waving his Bible, but I sent him on his way. For dinner I had a bowl of pasta with spicy tomato sauce not too far from home, as I was feeling a bit weary emotionally and needed to get to bed early—I had another early appointment the next day.
In the morning I walked over to the Palazzo Pitti beyond the river to see the Palatine Gallery there. Like the Uffizi these rooms were heavy with friezes and paintings on every available surface, mostly mythological scenes and pictures of the Medicis and the Italian rulers of later centuries. I liked most the painting of Judith with the head of Holofernes, still brandishing the sword. After the Palace I wandered around the city a bit and then went to meet my friend Maddy for lunch, who’s been doing a short course here during the university break as part of our Arts degree. We got sandwiches and sat on the steps of the Uffizi to eat, then we visited the Museo Nazionale del Bargello with a scoop of gelato on the way to keep us going. These galleries contained some religious relics and a lot of the classical decorative arts, including china and ivory statuettes. But downstairs the old palace possessed a hall full of sculptures by Michelangelo and his other great contemporaries, which were amazing even though by the end of the gallery tour we were feeling desperately thirsty and neither of us were wearing brilliant footwear (I have been surviving solely on a pair of Converse which are close to wearing right through the soles and have developed some structural issues after weeks in Europe; Maddy has been confined to ballet flats coming apart at the edges). So we each bought a litre and a half bottle of cold sparkling water from the supermarket and drowned our suffering all the way back to the Duomo, where she dropped me off at my door.
My dinner that night was no different to what I have been eating every night—pasta, thought his time with simple beef ragu instead of wild boar. I had less secure plans for the next day, willing to go where it took me—I ended up back outside the Fountain of Neptune and entered the Palazzo Vecchio, that at mid-morning still had no line inside, and I sailed in on my student ticket to see the rooms of Pope Leo X and the painted halls depicting great battles and the four elements with water that recollection of Botticelli, Venus emerging from the waves; and Diana on the ceiling opposite her brother, driving a chariot of one white horse and one black. I was amazed by the Palazzo Vecchio and found it far more beautiful than any of the other Florentine palaces I had seen so far, perhaps it had something less of the cold and neo-classical about it, even if its interiors were just as excessive. The best room in my eyes was the last one, which was no grand hall, but a smaller chamber whose walls were covered in a series of colourful maps from that antiquate era. The lands were marked on occasion by an animal like an elephant to signify the Orient, most bore no resemblance to world maps today. But the roots of thinking have not changed. We see the world through these eyes.
In the afternoon I visited some churches—the Chiesa di Santa Trinita where Caroline Bonaparte, the emperor’s younger sister, was buried. She was the wife of the Napoleonic general Murat, appointed King of Naples, but outliving the empire of her husband and her brother, she died unfavoured and her body was hidden and then buried for safekeeping there in that chapel. There is still a Prince Murat today and he has clearly made sure the tomb of his ancestor is well-preserved—the white marble was gleaming, almost too pure. In the floor of the chapel a tile indicated hic iacet for the place her coffin was placed, innocuously, deep below the surface. I followed my usual routine of a sandwich (this location’s special was a prosciutto and cream cheese filling, so delicious I almost collapsed there in the sweaty gutter from joy) and an afternoon rest in the semi-cool dark of my room. In the evening my friend Maddy reappeared outside my door and we walked across town to an eclectic little cocktail bar where the bartender worked like some sort of artisan, sculpting pieces of lime peel and treating each drink as a new masterpiece. Patience was a necessity as he worked away the hours at his craft. At nine we went around the corner to a traditional restaurant and I had my beloved wild boar ragu and Maddy ate polenta with braised meat. I ordered a glass of wine and our charming old Italian waiter poured with so much heart that we had to share it. After some tiramisu we paid up and wandered back through the city at night, laughing at ourselves. The city of Florence was still colourful, the carousel was still lit up, and they have powerful lights fixed to all the rooftops surrounding the Duomo, so at night time it still glows as stark white as in the day.

Isle of Doges (Venice part 2)
On the first morning of our first visit to Venice, the wisest thing to do was follow the crowd. We headed straight to St Mark's Square.
As soon as you get there, you understand why the piazza is so popular. It is lined on three sides by opulent Renaissance façades (pictured above).
On the fourth side stands a huge, and hugely ornate, church. Everything is white, except for a red-brick bell tower in the middle.
The sense of space is all the more striking as you emerge from busy alleys. Suddenly the company of fellow tourists no longer matters: you gasp in wonder, along with everyone else.
We had tickets for the Doge's Palace (Palazzo ducale). That landmark, I knew, was not sponsored by an American carmaker: it was named after the "doges", the men who ran Venice during its 1,000-year run as an independent republic.
But that was the extent of my knowledge. I wondered why the French call it "Palais des Doges" – in the plural. Was there just one or several of them in charge at any one time? How did you get the job? What was a doge's life like?
The answers lay within the Palazzo. First, though, we had to find the building.
It turned out to be located slightly off the square, wedged between the huge church and the waterfront. (The best view is from the canal: the palace is on the right of the picture below, which I took later, in the evening light.)
As you enter the courtyard, more gasping awaits.
At the far end stands the "Giants' Staircase", which leads up to the spot where doges were crowned.
The main structure was built around 1500. The statues of Mars and Neptune were added half a century later. Mere marble steps, apparently, were not grand enough for the occasion.
You enter the state rooms by walking past two other mythological hunks.
I find Hercules clobbering the Hydra particularly inspiring (on the left below).
Then you're led up the grandmother of all stairways, the Scala d'Oro, also built in the middle of the 16th century.
Its appellation is not hyperbole: the ceiling is covered with gold.
The Venetians liked to flaunt their wealth and taste. The Golden Staircase takes you to the Square Atrium, where foreign leaders were told to wait before being ushered into the formal chambers.
From the 1560s, they would have been staring at a carved ceiling decorated by Tintoretto.
The octagonal painting, a sign notes, depicts the doge of the day "humbly kneeling" before figures representing justice and peace.
Thus for Venetian grandees, "humility" consisted in being shown by Tintoretto as visited by the cardinal values of the republic.
The next few rooms are lined with more masterpieces.
A few more Tintoretto, including the Forge of Vulcan above, grace the Antecollegio, another anteroom (the Venetians obviously liked to keep their guests waiting but they did so in style).
The Sala Della Bussola (Compass Room) is described as yet another vestibule – this time reserved for those summoned by judges.
Everything was done to put defendants in the right frame of mind: on the ceiling Saint Mark is shown by Veronese playing Frisbee with the theological virtues:
Inspired as they were by ancient myths and Christian iconography, the artists didn't forget who their patrons were.
The Senate Hall features Tintoretto's “Dead Christ Adored” in which two doges witness the messiah’s final ascent. I seem to detect a hint of artistic sarcasm in their shifty look ("should really be here?").
The palace’s pièce de résistance adorns the Sala del Maggior Consiglio (Hall of the Great Council).
That hall could fit an Olympic-size swimming pool - and, thanks to global warming, is bound to turn into one some day.
The wall behind the doge's throne is fully occupied by Tintoretto's Paradiso. Measuring 22m end to end, it is the largest painting in the world - excepting daubs made for the Guinness Book of World Records.
It took old Tintoretto four years to complete. The 500-odd figures crowding the messiah include angels, archangels, apostles, saints and, of course, a roster of Venetian worthies.
John Ruskin, a notoriously fastidious critic, professed "no hesitation in asserting this picture to be by far the most precious work of art of any kind whatsoever, now existing in the world".
The Sala del Maggior Consiglio brings me to the initial object of our visit: the governance of republican Venice.
La Serenissima is best described as a patriarchal oligarchy. The Great Council was made up of all male adults from patrician Venetian families, irrespective of merit or wealth.
Although never a democracy, this was a form of a collective leadership and thus a bulwark against arbitrary rule. The last thing the nobles wanted was a tyrant.
It is worth quoting the explanatory sign at length on this point:
"In spite of the restrictions in its powers that the Senate introduced over the centuries, the Great Council continued to be seen as bastion of republican equality. The Council had the right to call to account all the other authorities and bodies of the State when it seemed that their powers were getting excessive and needed to be trimmed. The 1,200 to 2,000 noblemen who sat in the Council always considered themselves guardians of the laws that were the basis of all the other authorities within the State."
The council was regarded the fount of all legitimacy: its members elected the doges (one of them at a time, I found out) but also kept tabs on them. In the 14th century, one incumbent was beheaded for trying to set up a dictatorship.
Venice retained a large degree of collective rule for centuries – roughly until the Renaissance. During that period its achievements were formidable. It became the greatest Mediterranean power since Rome.
A technological and cultural innovator, it revolutionised glassmaking and shipbuilding; it invented the assembly line and double entry-bookkeeping; it pioneered globalisation (Max Weber, a German, argued that Protestant northern Europe was the cradle of capitalism: he was wrong.)
Over time, two developments occurred. The first was concentration of power. The daily administration of a growing empire could not be conducted by an assembly of 2,000 people.
The full Maggior Consiglio took a back seat while subcommittees were given various portfolios. In the 14th century, a 60-member Senate took charge of trade and foreign policy. A "Council of Forty" served as a supreme court.
Such specialisation was inevitable, but it led to an erosion of Venice’s brand of lineage-based egalitarianism. Some aristocrats became more equal than others. By the late 1400s, a "Council of Ten" set up to look after security started to watch over other government business.
The second development - decline - is linked to the first. It is a fact universally acknowledged that unchecked rule by insiders breeds decay and corruption.
From the 15th century, the city-state began to lose control of Asian trade routes; rival empires began nibbling away at its far-flung possessions.
Cultural atrophy ensued. The last major building work on the Piazza San Marco was undertaken in the 1580s. By then, the Venetian school of art was dying. The masterpieces in the Palazzo ducale are its swansong.
Incestuous elites managed La Serenissima's decline until 1797, when the last doge surrendered the city to a jumped-up French general (named Bonaparte) who plundered it.

I don't know that I consciously have one. Friends call me a viking, family call me a shepherd/apostle 😂 people aren't surprised when I say I do blacksmithing so maybe a mix of all three of those, plus a bit of a metalhead 😂
Neptune - Describe yourself in one sentence?
Going to die like I lived, laughing at something silly 😊
Pluto - If you could meet anyone, alive or dead, who would you meet?
Ooooh...so many to pick from. Really randomly but...Boudicca
Aquarius - What’s a topic you enjoy learning about?
Everything. Every so often I'll go down a rabbit hole on a really random subject. Mostly I really like reading up on people and history. And literature. Oh and the etymology of words!
Capricornus - What’s a song lyric that you relate to?
"Little girl you are cursed by my ancestry
There is nothing but darkness and agony
I can not only see, but you stopped me from blinking
Let me watch you as close as a memory
Let me hold you above all the misery
Let me open my eyes and be glad that I got here"
Thanks lovely 😊😊

Fun with pill time (all prescribed and taken as prescribed): solar system edition! The sun is my girlfriend’s phone flashlight, Mercury is a Klonopin, Venus is one brand of Zoloft, Earth and its moon are another brand-and-a-half (three different brands over three months), Mars is a Risperdal, Jupiter is a mason jar lid and it’s storm eye is the other half of the Zoloft, Saturn is a pill bottle cap with a Seroquel ring (I only take one Seroquel but needed a full ring), and Uranus and Neptune are bottle caps. Sorry for not including Pluto, I didn’t have a small enough pill and it’s also not a planet, but a trans-Neptunian object. Actually, there’s a bit of a Classical background to why I’m on the “Pluto isn’t a planet” side: the stars being lightyears away are on a fixed movement, but the ancients noticed seven “stars” that went their own way, so they called them “planet,” which means “wanderer” or “drifter.” It’s actually related to the word “plankton,” which doesn’t describe a specific creature so much as a class of creature that “drifts” in the sea–also an individual organism is called a plankter. Anyway, they named the seven planets after Roman gods. (Mythology doesn’t correspond 1:1 with religion, so having Saturn and Jupiter may be contrary to the story of Zeus [Jupiter] killing Cronus [Saturn] in the Titanomachy, but Saturn in formalized Roman worship was a syncretism of a Roman harvest god and the grandfather of the gods–Uranus would be the great-grandfather, being the “sky” to Gaia, our “earth.” By the way, there’s a Roman myth that Zeus castrated Cronus and when he threw his dad’s pendulous dudes into the sea, the foam created Venus [Aphrodite] at Cythera, a Greek island–depicted by Botticelli in The Birth of Venus–hence one of her epithets Cytherea, which would be really cool if Wikipedia didn’t automatically show you to a porn actress known for “squirting.”) The astrological seven planets, earth, and the moon were canon until the early twentieth century when some dude in an observatory was looking at pictures taken deep beyond Neptune and found another “wandering” body, which we named Pluto after the god of deep darkness. So the classical tradition of seven planets didn’t include Pluto, which was discovered by modern astronomy and not ancient astrology. So, when science further discovers that it doesn’t orbit the sun right and isn’t orbited right by its moon and isn’t alone among trans-Neptunian objects and it’s kinda small? Astronomy demoted it and pre-20th century astrological traditions didn’t include it anyway. There’s a pagan/agnostic tradition described in the New Testament’s Acts of the Apostles 17.23 that might help if that appeals to you: Athens had a shrine dedicated to agnostos theos, (Vulgate Latin: ignotus deus), the unknown god, just in case they were missing one in their devotions. If you blended that with a semi-probable contemporary tradition of an unknown “wanderer,” you could justifiably have Pluto in at least your astrology.

What to do in Rome, Italy
Rome is a beautiful city where hope springs eternal. It is a city that is proud of its ancient glorious heritage. There are so many places to visit there.
1. Colosseum
The Colosseum is another of Rome’s major tourist attractions. The elliptical amphitheater is huge and can hold many people who in the past used to watch gladiators do battle and enjoy other forms of entertainment. This stone and concrete structure, built in the first century, was the largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the Romans’ greatest architectural and engineering feats based on its magnificent view.
2. St. Peter's Basilica
The center of the Catholic world and a major tourist attraction, the Basilica of St. Peter is a huge church, the space shuttle, together with its booster rockets, could fit inside, as could the Statue of Liberty. The basilica stands on the traditional site where Peter, the apostle who is considered the first pope, was crucified and buried. Many famous artists worked on the complex and its surroundings, amazing structure.
3. Trevi Fountain
This world famous Baroque fountain features an amazing mythological sculptural composition of Neptune, god of the sea, flanked by two Tritons. Since then, it has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Rome. The legend says that one who throws a coin in the fountain shall one day return to Rome.
4. Roman Forum
Located in the small valley between the Palatine and Capitoline Hills, The Roman Forum was for centuries the teeming heart of ancient Rome: the site of triumphal processions and elections, venue for public speeches, and nucleus of commercial affairs. The Forum today is a sprawling ruin of ancient architectural fragments and includes the Arches of Septimius Severus and Titus, the Temple of Antoninus Pius and Faustina and the Temple of Saturn. It is a splendid view from below and has beautiful structure.
Rome is an amazing place with ancient areas all around. Know more places in Rome, comment below.

To Those Who Disagreed With My Posting Last Week: Thanks!
A Supplemental Message to Those
Who Disbelieved Last Week's Warning
by Minister Paul J. Bern
To view this on my website, click here :-)
Last week, as my regular readers know, I published a post about how there could well be an economic reset in the world's future, starting with the United States. I also used a lot of Bible scripture to back up my words. I got a lot of strong positive feedback about last week's posting, but there was a fair amount of the negative kind too, primarily from atheists and religious conservatives. I have found myself on the receiving end of open derision from a small but highly vocal minority because of my “radical” views, as one man called it. 'How could there ever be an economic reset when capitalism works so well', was just one of the replies I received (heavily edited, of course). Apparently many of those individuals did not bother to read the entire article or, worse yet, just glanced at the title and the picture, and jumped to whatever conclusion suited them for that moment.
The Bible has a lot to say about nonbelievers, but I'm going to quote this week from the Book of 2nd Peter, something I don't often get a chance to do. Peter may have been an illiterate fisherman who dictated the two small books named after him, but he was filled with the Holy Spirit (see Acts chapter 2), and as such he “wrote” some beautiful stuff, and I quote: “3) Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4) They will say, 'Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.' 5) But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6) By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7) By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.” (2 Peter 3, verses 3-7)
Where is Jesus? I thought he would have come back by now. What's the holdup? These three questions are on the lips and minds of believers and scoffers alike. After all, Jesus said about the End Times, 32) “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33) Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34) Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35) Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24, verses 32-35) For those of you who may not know, 'the fig tree' is a Biblical symbol for the nation of Israel. So these words of Jesus, spoken when he was speaking to the Twelve about the End Times, refer to the rebirth of the nation of Israel, which happened in May of 1948.
“....when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” So from these words of our Lord and Savior we can safely conclude that the End Times that Christ spoke about in Matthew chapter 24 have arrived, most likely beginning with the first two world wars. Since the nation of Israel was 'born' on May 14, 1948, one could normally conclude that one generation – roughly 70 years – away from the nation of Israel's birth could be assumed to be 2018. But it's 2019, people, and nothing having to do with a Second Coming of Christ is on the horizon. It's been over 70 years, a generation plus one more year, and still – nothing yet.
People are beginning to have doubts because Christ's return is taking longer than anticipated by many true believers, not to mention the skeptics. But the apostle Peter knew through the indwelling of the Spirit within him that this would occur. That's why he dictated the following words as he continued in 2nd Peter chapter 3: “8) But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9) The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10) But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 11) Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12) as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13) But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” (2nd Peter 3, verses 8-13)
It is perfectly normal to have generally doubtful or even pessimistic thoughts enter our minds. It's even perfectly normal, believe it or not, to have doubts about the Bible, about God, and about the purpose and meaning of life itself. But I think Peter was saying right here to stop wasting time worrying about these matters, because they are often beyond our control – but not all the time. In verse 8, Peter is saying as best as he could that God is timeless, and that He operates in a higher dimension of existence than ourselves. Since God does not experience the passage of time like we do, his schedule, his timing, and that of humanity often don't coincide. Often this can appear to us as if a certain prayer to the Lord has not been answered. But oftentimes, it's not that God isn't going to answer our prayers. He's just waiting for an opportunity to give you even more than you asked for.
In the very next verse, the Bible tells us plainly why Jesus will be late in returning. “Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” Jesus is waiting to return so that as many who want to enter into his Kingdom, who want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, can be brought into it. The apostle Paul wrote, “God is not willing that anyone should perish, but that all people come to repentance.” So there you have it from the apostles Peter and Paul. God is going to wait for as long as he can before shutting the door. But once that door is shut, it will be shut forever, and then massive destruction will come.
“....the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?” Whatever nature this colossal event is going to be will be unknown right up until the moment it happens, there can be no doubt about that based on what I'm reading in verse 10. All indications are that – based on how this passage of Scripture is worded – Peter was speaking about some kind of massive cosmic event, either a large asteroid or comet striking the earth. I'm sorry to disappoint some of you, it isn't going to be Nibiru which, if it does indeed exist, is somewhere beyond Neptune right now. That's past Uranus, past Saturn and Jupiter too. It takes Neptune, the outermost planet of the four, 80 years to go around the sun. If Nibiru is beyond that, even if it were headed straight for us it would take 40 or 50 years to get here. Think about it, and do the darned math while you're at at so all you people can stop worrying about 'Nibiru'.
“11) Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12) as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming....” God is watching each and every one of us. Not to whack us on the tops of our heads every time we're 'bad', but because he cares for us like a parent would their little children. If you were raising kids, would you give them candy for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Out of the question! Would you take them to Six Flags or Disney World every weekend, whether they deserved to go or not? As before, completely out of the question. We are raising responsible adults, not spoiled brats and car thieves. Notice the part where Peter states that we “look forward” to Christ's return and that we are to “speed its coming”? The reason Christ has yet to return is because we are not ready for him to do so. And that's just for the believers. The nonbelievers would simply be swept away if Christ returned overnight. They would all be gone, and all their belongings with them, before morning light.
So Peter is clearly telling us that we need to clean up our act, and that we are rapidly running out of time to do so. Otherwise, “That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.....” “The heavens” presumably means the skies above us, implying a natural disaster of such Biblical proportions that the earth's atmosphere may be completely burned away, similar to what apparently happened on Mars sometime in the distant past. In that event, the earth's surface would be unlivable, but it would be possible to have large pockets of breathable air underground in caves. Maybe the cave men of 100,000 years ago lived there for the same reasons, having themselves escaped a similar calamity. Could this have been what Peter was trying to warn us about? Nobody knows for sure, but we all had better live each day as if that one is our last.

the south node and what it wants to teach you
Aries sn: ‘There is an aggressiveness, a selfishness, a strong will power to go your own way, but dear, you don’t see the faces of those who held your hand when you stopped running your marathon. You don’t see your own muddy face when you look into their eyes, the mirror. There is no beauty in destruction and conflict. Embrace the gentle voice of venus in your life.’
Taurus sn: ‘Like a hippogryph you gather around your belongings, you love feeling secure and comfort yourself in your values, because you realized you slowly became your values after a while. But while Venus gently holds you in her arms, Pluto wants you to jump down and deep dive into the coldest water and search for your own, personal values in yourself, the world and the cosmos. Strongly hold tight to your hidden sixth sense, you will need it under the surface.’
Gemini sn: ‘You sit in your own cage, a cage which is called ‘mind’. Gathering every piece of information there are bits of everything piled up in your room and visiting your neighbor and vomiting different words each day doesn’t bring you anywhere. There is a bigger picture, as big as Jupiter in person, you have to keep in mind or the world that hasn’t revealed itself yet. Reach a higher form of your mental energy, the cosmos is awaiting you, even if you have to travel up to the stars to finally see a clearer way, to finally be satisfied.’
Cancer sn: ‘Smothering, oh the moons hug is so smothering. Dependend on what your family gives you, you are home in your own shell, home in your own four walls, but what if there is more to the world? Not only the shell can be thick and hard, but your skin too, the world wants you and the world wants you to shine. You will master the strong authoritative voice of Saturn, until you guide others through the cold nights.’
Leo sn: ‘You think you are the sun and yes you do shine so warm and nicely, but sometimes you burn yourselves and others. The sun is not solely meant for you but for others as well so let the warmth embrace the ones who lived in the cold for far too long. Uranus sees your creativity, Uranus sees your potentional and strength, wouldn’t it be a waist to freeze to death?’
Virgo sn: ‘You live your life like the doll you made out if yourself. There is something holy when doing service but what is self sacrificing without the love? While the colder, earthy side if Mercury tried tying you to words and facts, Neptune demands you to open your mind to the unconsciousness, something surreal, the martyrer out of love, the genius inside his chaos, letting go and feeling warmth, floating to the next island.’
Libra sn: ‘It’s the same every day. Like a puppet people play with you, they look at you, wonderful porcelain maiden, they give you many names, many character, they love to be with you. But only watching the world from the window is getting frustrating and finally the magic spell of the fairy shakes you awake. Move your arms and legs, speak up, start running to your next goal; give yourself a name. A name you are worth being called, a name that everyone will connect to your beautiful, fiery presence.’
Scorpio sn: ‘You know you dig deep into life, you know that there are secrets in the past that you would rather not touch. You know that there are things left to see and things left to go after, still you scream each time pain aches through your body and you find yourself alone and misunderstood. There is a light guiding you, the simplicity of life wants to embrace you, the stability and feeling of self value will gently wheep you off the ground. Dear fighter, you will become the survivor.’
Sagittarius sn: ‘You are restless, the restless body of a wanderer who can’t contain themselves anymore. You speak with a mighty voice from the top of the mountain, but really they stopped listening long time ago. There is nothing higher you need to reach. Nothing bigger you can climb. There is a key in listening and perceiving, not thinking in the way of a God, but rather in the way of an apostle who takes things as they are - god given. Settle down, rest, listen to you brothers and sisters.’
Capricorn sn: ‘There is strength in being alone and independent and therefore tragic in living alone. While the man counts his money, he counts the sheep as well as they jump in front of the moon, ready to fall asleep. Saturn may keep you on track but the Moon kisses you with gentleness and allows you to rest. Help her guide you home and learn that the inner cycle must closed in order to follow the outer one. Your love doesn’t need to feel like winter anymore, summer is right ahead of you.’
Aquarius sn: ‘Uranus may gave you the feeling of being out of order, the typical syndrom of the ‘Monday product’ as they like to call it, out of a thousand the only one who isn’t working correctly. And while trying to figure out fate, you tried bringing out the best in others, others needs were yours - not anymore. One day to another the sun told you that you were not a monday product, rather a special edition and who is ready to guide others before themselves? Shine brightly as you can, brightly as the sun.’
Pisces sn: ‘There is a translucent area in your life you have to overcome. The world loves you for floating through time and reaility, compassionate and with your heart on your sleeve you try to build a castle for your dreams but outrun every knight that wants to rival you. This is not a time to ‘man up’, my dear, this is the time for self care and ambitiousness. Embrace the earthy side of Mercury as much as you gently embrace others and it will give you mental satisfactions.’
