Ok but if Polites lived until Mutiny, it would've been so much more tragic.

He would've been defending Odysseus' decisions out of loyalty to his friend but also 100% understanding Eurylochus' very valid concern of starving to death. He would try to stay as neutral as possible and talk both of his friends down but would ultimately be unable to stop their sword fight. They are way past listening to his reasoning.

As a last-ditch effort, he throws himself in between them.

Right into Eurylochus' sword.

Odysseus and Eurylochus freeze as Polites clutches his stomach.

It was a strong thrust, intended to kill, and cut right through Polites' worn-down armor. As he falls back, both of his friends rush to his side in terror and guilt. His voice is wet and warbled by the blood seeping between his lips as he tells them they need to be kind. They used to all be brothers. What happened? How did such a big rift grow between them? Please, please swear to him to stop fighting.

They both swear and Polites' eyes glass over, a ghost of a smile on his lips.

There's a moment of silence broken only by the rumble of thunder.

Odysseus fails at choking back a sob.

He looks up at Eurylocus, tears and rage in his eyes. "You did this," he whispers.

my take on Strahd’s polycule from hell (I adore them)

the are few lyrics that make me sadder than “familiarity breeds contempt” because uhm. no it doesn’t? irritation sometimes maybe. but there is something so sinister about the idea that the more people got to know her, the more they disliked her. and the way she talks about it in bejeweled is accepting that as fact and saying “but here’s why i can still be worthy of your love.” and it’s DEVASTATING.

i mean think about it. the old quilt your grandma made. your stuffed animal you’ve hugged countless times. the relief you feel when you finally get to see the person who understands you best. how nice it is to be in your home town after being away for too long. familiarity doesn’t breed contempt. it breeds peace. but someone made her feel like getting to know her made her seem worse

gonna be completely honest yall— never liked the original OoD skin for Kenshi LMAO like dude everyone gets these cool, almost dark fantasy-like skins and then KENSHI ?,?,?? i’m sorry i had to do something abt it 😔

anyways— more details under the cut !!! and possibly also a bit of lore on my take of OoD Kenshi :3

- my take on his lore✨ is that instead of sento yk being good and helping kenshi— they still do help him, except there’s a more vengeful spirit at the forefront that speaks to him, hence the red eyes oooo HAHA

- OoD kenshi, to me, would be more unforgiving and ruthless— he’ll do whatever it takes to reclaim the taira clan’s name, brutally take it with his bare hands if he has to

- also id like to think that whatever spirit speaks to kenshi actually manipulates him very slowly and starts corrupting him, but really its feeding on kenshi’s already present disdain for the yakuza and everyone else that’s wronged him and just amplifies those feelings

- sento eventually convinces kenshi that he cannot trust anyone except for his own— but he’ll also kill anyone that gets in his way and doesn’t share his same vision for the taira clan

- ALSO i just think,,,, kenshi who’s a little crazy and deranged and laughs when he kills the people that have wronged him and his clan is,,,,,, yeah 🥰 that’s all i got tbh

**i don’t have much on HOW exactly he obtains sento, so pls don’t yell at me these are my disjointed thoughts on OoD kenshi LMAO
