The Origin (1)

Summary: How you and Hazel and the fight club started. Also Hazel's Spider-Woman. But you don't know that.

Pairing: Spider-Woman!Hazel Callahan x Classmate!Reader

Warnings: Mature language, use of (Y/N), mentions of bruises and cuts, Idk what else

“You got paired up with (Y/N) for the ‘women murdered in history’ project?” 

Hazel nodded at Josie’s question. She had just left Mr. G’s class with PJ and Josie where he had introduced a new project to create a diorama based on a famous woman who was murdered. The partners were chosen by random, and to Hazel’s horror, she was paired up with you. 

Who just happened to be Hazel’s crush for 4. fucking. years.

Hazel had many moments of crises in her 18 years of life, which included getting bitten by a radioactive spider during sophomore year at a school field trip to the science fair, getting caught by Josie and PJ’s spider-trap (Where PJ wanted to catch Spider-Woman for her youtube channel with a net, and she actually managed to?) and Hazel had to reveal her secret identity, and her mother’s recent divorce with her minor-fucking, emotionally unavailable father. 

But none of them made Hazel as frantic as being paired with you for a school project. 

“Thats fucking amazing,” PJ said in jealousy. “How come that never happens with me and Brittany? I got paired up with that one emo kid who probably wants to blow up the school.” 

Hazel groaned, leaning her head against her locker. She was already tired from last night’s fight with a local bank robbery, which led to her face scratched and bandaged up today. She couldn’t stop thinking about how she was going to impress you. 

“Okay, well, you don’t look very happy considering you’re like, obsessed with her,” Josie commented. She was well used to Hazel’s constant remarks about how pretty you looked during class or how you made eye contact with her for 2 seconds. 

“I’m fucked. I just get so nervous around her,” Hazel replied, anxiety seeping out from her voice. “I have never really had a conversation with her other than, ‘hello’. If I can’t even talk to her properly, how am I going to do a whole project with her?” 

PJ rolled her eyes. “Hazel, why are you so worried? You literally swing down tall ass buildings and beat up tall ass criminals, and you can’t even talk to a girl that you like? Didn’t your spider powers give you like, enhanced everything?” 

“I’m pretty sure the whole point of Hazel’s secret identity is for you to not talk about it out in the open, PJ.” 

“I’m just saying, if I saved the neighborhood every night wearing a red and blue spandex lady gaga suit, I’d be getting so much puss right now.” 

The two continued to bicker as Hazel sighed. PJ was right. It was just a project. It wasn’t a big deal, it was only for a week, and she was certain you were straight anyways. All she had to do was just man up and talk to—

“Hazel?” 

Hazel jumped, turning around from her locker to see you standing with an alluring smile on your face. You wanted to talk to your project partner before the start of next class, who seemed to be very stunned at the sight of you. She looked like a puppy, with her widened blue eyes and her tousled brown hair. 

Hazel blinked rapidly and clutched her notebook, barely managing to reply with a small, “Hi.” 

“I don’t know if you remember me. I’m (Y/N),” You introduced yourself, starting to offer your hand but retracting immediately because you realized that you’re a high schooler and that it’s probably lame to shake hands in this day and age. “I’m partnered up with you for Mr. G’s class—” 

“-Yeah, I know who you are. (Y/N),” Hazel said, almost too quickly, causing her friends to hold in their laughter. “Mr. G’s project. Yeah– I can work on it. All of it, if you want.” 

“No, of course not, we can work on it together,” You laughed, before recognizing all the injuries on Hazel’s face. “By the way, you’re pretty bruised up. Are you okay?” 

Hazel instantly touched her bandages, feeling a bit embarrassed at her state. 

“’m fine. I just fell.” 

You frowned, staring intensely at Hazel’s face. “I don’t think you can get these cuts from falling.” 

“Well, some of them are from falling and some of them aren’t...” Hazel trailed off as you came closer, your face filled with genuine worry. You knew Hazel wasn't exactly popular, but you didn’t know she was bullied. Hazel slowly backed away, her heart beating out of her chest as her back made contact with her locker. 

Hazel's Face started to burn up, turning to Josie for help. Josie stuttered, “This is nothing, she just– she’s part of this— this club, and—”

“A club? What kind of club fucks up her face like this?” You interrupted, your hands reaching out and brushing Hazel’s bangs out of the way, carefully examining the bandages. “Is it like a fight club?” 

“Yes!” 

“No–” 

“-More like a women’s self defense club?”

You looked at the three girls who’ve provided different answers all at the same time.

PJ spoke up first. 

“Yes, we absolutely do have this club where girls fucking beat each other up and shit for… feminism. So that we can teach girls how to protect themselves from the evil male football players.” 

“You know how to fight?” You asked, staring at PJ who barely had any muscles.

“Yes. Because, We… went… to… juvie over the summer.” 

You blinked.

“...There’s also a serious lack of female solidarity in this school,” Hazel stiffly added. 

“Right. Okay, that’s fine, I guess,” You accepted. “Could I join?” 

“Yes. Absolutely!” PJ exclaimed, her face lighting up immediately. “You could bring your friends too. You know. Specifically your cheerleader friends. Specifically Brittany and Isabel.” 

Before you could question why specifically Brittany and Isabel, the bell rang to inform the students for the start of next class. 

“Okay, here—” You took the notebook Hazel was holding and quickly scribbled your number on one of the pages. “Message me so we can talk about the project. And the club. Is that okay?” 

You handed the notebook back as Hazel nodded, in denial that you just gave her your fucking phone number. You waved before running off to your next class, feeling happy that you had made a new friend. (haha friend…)

Meanwhile, Josie was losing her mind. 

“PJ, what the fuck are you doing?” 

“This is absolutely perfect!” 

“No, it’s not, PJ— we don’t have a feminist women’s self-defense fight club. You also don’t care about feminism. Your favorite movie is Entourage.” 

“Okay, first of all, shut up, and second, we can just make the club now, obviously. Come on– I just created the perfect opportunity for all of us to talk to Brittany, Isabel, and (Y/N)!” 

“Hazel, please tell PJ that she’s insane,” Josie turned to Hazel. 

Hazel grinned and said; 

“She gave me her number.” 

Josie groaned. “Congratulations! But we have a bigger problem now. We don’t know how to defend ourselves!” 

“Self-defense is common sense. You try to punch me in the face. I stop it from happening. Whatever, I don’t care, it’s easy,” PJ shrugged, holding a MMA fighter stance and started throwing air punches. 

“Yeah, maybe for Hazel, who literally has the… spider tingles? Hazel tingles?”

“Please do not start calling it Hazel tingles.” 

“And let’s not forget, you literally have superhuman strength,” Josie cautioned. “If we do this— very big if, we just run the biggest risk of exposing you and your spider identity. One wrong punch and you’ll send a girl to the hospital.”  

PJ turned to Hazel and grabbed her by the shoulders. 

“Hazel, listen to me. We teach a bunch of girls how to defend themselves against the evil high school fuckboys. They are grateful to us. Adrenaline is flowing— next thing you know, Isabel, Brittany, and (Y/N) are kissing us on the mouths!” 

Hazel paused. “I don’t know. Like Josie said, it’s a huge risk. The last thing I’d want to do is put (Y/N) in danger.”

A sardonic smile played on PJ’s lips. She tapped on Hazel’s notebook.

“Hazel, she gave you her number.”

Hazel stood, her mind racing once again. PJ’s idea of starting a self-defense club was dangerous, she knew that. She would be gaining attention all while showing off her fighting skills, which is what she had been hiding for years. Josie’s warning echoed in her mind. But then she remembered the way you had looked at her, with darling concern in your eyes when you asked about her injuries. She hadn’t had anyone worry for her like that in a while. 

Hazel took a deep breath.

“Okay.”

“Okay?” Josie cried.

“She said okay! It's an okay! We’re doing this!” PJ screamed, grabbing Hazel’s hand and pulling her towards the school’s office to create the club. “We’re going to lose our virginities this year! This is the year!”

“Okay, but who’s going to be crazy enough to even advise this club?” Josie yelled after them, but the two were long gone.

Uh yeah so anyways basically heart broken for multiple reasons so we'll go in order

1- aya. oh my gosh aya. shes what, a ten year old?????? and in the span of a day, she has found out about a vampire lord who is responsible for destroying or saving the whole world, shouldered the responsibility of getting said vampire lord away from the enemy to save the world, developed a father-daughter relationship with said vampire lord, sacrificed herself and got saved by him, believed that the world could be saved now, saw her new father figure's body be torn apart and replaced by a greasy ratass who wants to destroy everything or whatever, with said new father's last words telling her to run to save herself, being saved by said father, then having him dissolve and die again in front of her eyes again. shes a ten year old. what the actual fuck. oh and don't forget, she doesn't know that she lost her other father figure too!

gosh she is going to be SO traumatised and even that is an understatement i really hope she has the strength to recover

2- so akutagawa is back huh? about time, about time (though im not very happy about the cost it took- but atleast he's back?)and he has agreed to protect aya on brams wish? thats surprising honestly, so im wondering if the stuff atsushi told him while fighting him at the airport or whatever affected his subconscious or something so that he consciously wants to start protecting people?

OR maybe! he sees a bit of himself in aya or smth? i mean look i dont exactly remember what happened before he met dazai and was taken in by him okay, dont come at me. but maybe he sees that terrified little kid and something stirs in him or smth anyways go akutagawa go you're her third father figure please dont die again ‼️

3- and the biggest bombshell

KUNIKIDA‼️‼️ NO NO NO THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY HAPPENING PEOPLE THIS IS NOT I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT I AM IN DENIAL

just- THINK ABOUT EVERYONE. think about atsushi and tanizaki. who saw him disappear slowly in front of their eyes, to buy them time. think about fukuzawa. who wished for kunikida to be the next president because he was the most ideal. who cares so much, even if he doesnt show it as much. think about aya. she has such a deep bond with kunikida, and now she'll have to face the devastating news that one of the only people who truly believed in her is gone too. think about ranpo and yosano.

think about dazai. who is much too far away to do anything right now, who miscalculated once which led to him being too far to stop fyodors rampage in any way. who was truly doing all this because he wanted to keep the detective agency safe. who, when he realises what will happen next, his first thought is to warn them. who was his new partner, kept him alive, even made him a part of his schedules. who i think he must have to care for, even a little bit.

dazai, who thinks that anything worth wanting is always lost the moment he obtains it. and its happened again. and by the looks of it, it will happen again.

i genuinely want to know how he'll react but i dont want to at the same time. gods i cant fucking do this man

Pairing: MC x Cove Holden

He starts noticing instantly if you start showing signs of suffering a heat stroke.

Leaves you alone when you wave it off as the sun just making sluggish.

If you look like you’re about to pass out then expect Cove to guide you to a chair and give you some of his cold water.

He gets so worried about you and thought it was something more serious :(

Luckily both him and his father are both very sweet.

It was the hottest day of summer, at a more populated beach there was a surfing competition where you and Cove would be competing.

The two of you were very excited about it, you had been practicing together every day that you could and were confident that you would OBLITERATE every surfer there!

Cliff had been the first to volunteer to drive the two of you out of town to the beach in the neighboring town to compete.

You all sat in the car, Cove tapped his fingers on his thigh as he looked out the window.

You leaned on your side of the car and stared out the window too.

Cliff was keeping his eyes on the road but decided to start a conversation.

“So, you two excited?” He asked with an easy smile, already knowing the answer. Cove turned away from the window and gave a half excited nervous smile.

“Yeah. It’s going to be great” he said with a chuckle. “This would be the first time I will be surfing with other surfers though. What if I do badly” He asked, rubbing his nape.

“Don’t be so down on yourself, we’ve been practicing every day. Even if we aren’t as good, we made an effort!” You had encouraged, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

“You basically live in the ocean” You had added with a chuckle.

“Hey.” He said with a raised brow.

“MC is right, Son. What matters in the end is that you have fun.” Cliff added, peering into the rearview mirror to look at Cove.

“I guess you two are right. I am feeling a bit better about this.” Cove had said, now with a more sure smile.

That's the spirit, Bud. And perfect timing too. We’re here.” Cliff finished, now pulling into the beach parking lot and finding a spot.

The three of you filed out of the car and stood around. Cliff pulled out the beach bag your moms had prepared for them. (knowing him, he’d probably sit on the sand and forget to pack sunscreen)

“Okay, guys. Let’s put on some screen and Zinc…?” He questioned the last thing when noticing a small new packet of Zinc Surfer Sunscreen.

Before Cove could comment or protest, his dad squeezed a good chunk of it in his hands and covered Cove’s nose and cheeks with it.

“Ah-“ he said startled but accepted his fate of being properly sun-screened.

When Cliff was done he motioned for you to take the zinc and sunscreen so that you could apply your own.

You shook your head. “Nah. It's good. It’s even that sunny today.” You protested. “I barely wear sunscreen or ‘Zinc’ anyway.” You continued, you didn’t like how either of those felt on your face.

“I dunno…” Cliff said a little hesitantly.

“Mr.Holden, I promise I will be fine.” You tried and reassured with a laugh.

“Well okay then. You know what works for you. Tell me if you wanna reconsider later though, okay?” Cliff caved in.

“Of course! Now come on, we got a surfing competition to win.”

It had been three hours of the surfing competition. You and Cove were able to get first place in your age category and were rewarded with a humble-sized trophy.

Since the three of you drove out here, you may as well enjoy this new beach until it was time to go home.

While you and Cove talked, you began to feel a little lightheaded and your vision began to feel like you were spinning. You began to fan your face a little, maybe thinking that your surf suit was making it feel hotter.

“MC, are you ok?” Cove asked, noticing your behavior change.

“Yeah... I think the sun is making me sluggish or maybe I am just tired from the competition..?” You questioned.

“Do you want to sit down?” Cove asked.

“Nah. I am good. Let’s keep going, I think they’re giving out hotdogs over there.!

The sun was trying to boil you alive today.

Maybe this was the sun’s revenge on you, for not heeding your neighbor’s warning and putting sunscreen on.

You swayed and held your head, you felt so dizzy and nauseous. You decided that you needed a break and flopped onto the warm sand.

“MC?! A-are you ok?” Cove asked, turning around to see you helplessly lying on the ground.

“Ughhhh…” you groaned, feeling Cove’s arms on yours and hoisting you up as best as he could before he put you on his back for a piggyback ride.

“It’s fine, it’s fine! Let’s go get my dad” He tried and reassure you but you could hear the panic in his voice.

He carried you to where his dad had set up base, sitting on a towel that he had placed under an abandoned umbrella. When Cliff felt eyes on him he turned to Cove jogging towards him with you on his back and instantly got up.

“What's wrong?” He said, worried. He moved out of the way so that Cove could lay you on the towel. “I think they got heatstroke..”

Cliff got right into the action. “Cove stay here with them. I am getting a bucket of ice and water.” He instructed before quickly sprinting off to whatever lifeguard tower he could find.

Cove sat next to you and used the corner of the tower to wipe the sweat from your forehead. “Were you feeling sick earlier?” He asked, earning a slight nod from you.

“It's ok. We will uh get you something cold to drink, maybe you should unzip the top part of your surf suit.” Cove suggested.

You agreed and shed off the top layer of the suit, leaving you in your swim top/bare chest. Cliff had made his entrance again, this time with three bottles in a bucket of ice and a towel.

“I got the stuff- and good job. They need as much cold air as they can get.” He commended Cove before kneeling next to you and opening a cold bottle of water. “Here, make sure to take big gulps,” Cliff said, leaning you on the beach bag so that you could properly rehydrate.

It was just you sipping as much water as you could while Cove drenched the towel in the ice water and placed it on the back of your neck, after a while you felt much better.

Cliff had joked that the sun was trying to turn you to ash while Cove kept asking if it was you not wearing the sunscreen or if it was you not getting enough cold water in your system.

You felt better but you felt even more better knowing you had amazing guys around to help you.

YIPPEE ok . funni rhythm game . project sekai. its got miku . the only important background lore here is: there's kind of another world called "sekai" that is made from either strong emotions, or the shared will/dreams/desire/etc of a group. there are 5 units/groups/whatever. 2 of the sekais in the game were made by One Person. one's the clown group dw abt that. but Mafuyu !! fuyu made her own sekai. i thiiiiiink out of her desire to "disappear"?

anyway. mafuyu asahina. silly lil girlie. she is so depressed man. her mother sucks and is constantly pushing her to be the perfect straight-A student and train to be a doctor, and in public fuyu DOES put up that facade (in-game she has two very distinct voices - a more upbeat, happy one, and this very quiet, almost mumbley-one. in lives she'll use her Public Voice when talking to anyone that isn't of her unit)

so ! fuyu. she wants to make music. and train to be a nurse not a doctor. but her mother is super manipulative and controlling (and thats a theme you see across her cards too. in her first event she's literally depicted as a marionette for example) and really has no real control of her life. and then she meets Niigo. because kanade savior complex go brr

so. nightcord at 25:00, or niigo as they're called in the jp fandom, is made up of Kanade Yoisaki, Mizuki Akiyama, Ena Shinonome, and Mafuyu Asahina. they originally only know each other online (kanade finds fuyu thru her music which kanade notes is very dark and depressing, and later resolves to create a piece of music that will make mafuyu smile and bring back some joy into her life. tbh idk abt the other two i uh. am bad at reading lmao) but !! they talk on Nightcord (its discord) until they all meet in the Sekai. which is fucken EMPTY. there is NOTHIN THERE. and its Mafuyu's Sekai. so given the Empty Void that has been remarked upon that it's very easy to get lost and never find your way out .......yeah

so . as the events progress you get to see mafuyu come out of her shell more as she hangs out with niigo. her mom is. Not Happy (when is she ever smh) and in one event her mom even throws out her music equipment and laptop (iirc) claiming that it's a "distraction", and tells her to stop hanging out w/ niigo bc they're "bad influences" (or smth). mafuyu, obv, does Nyat do this and continues talking to the others.

a few events later mafuyu finally reaches her breaking point and stands up to her mother . and then promptly flees to live with kanade after everything she had to deal with. so now kanade & mafuyu live together ! but mafuyu rlly is making progress like despite it all, in newer cards/depictions you can even see light in her eyes !!!

but yeah shes . shes my silly. and so like. Gender to me. her and mizuki (canon transfem/nb person btw. go mizuki go!!!!!!!!) got a duet version of the song "Villain" which is literally abt bein fucken. trans. u can't just put the Canon Transgirl in with the Transmasc Vibes Character in a Song About Being Trans, man /j

i lov her tho shes doin her best. she kind of lost all sense of identity due to having to be what her mother wanted her to be, and niigo is slowly helping her figure out who she is, not who her mother wants her to be. its very nice

compared to the other stories niigo's is. way more deep and intense. but ! they all have their Things :3

OHHH she sounds awesome fuck yeah :) very glad that she is happier these days...love that . i really do need to play project sekai honestly i tried one time but i got too used to the enstars format for rhythym games and i sucked absolute balls at it. anyway gn bff <3

So first of all I‘m so happy that this kind of confrontation finally happened and Reader being able to, rightfully, throw their feelings at Spencer!

Also I really liked Spencer first coming up with JJ being married and her children instead of not wanting someone else than Reader because I do believe that it’s just plain realistic, even if it hurts hearing that as the first reasons to why he wouldn’t go after JJ.

I truly believe him that he doesn‘t want JJ though!

Also really love how considerate Reader is, not using the word crazy, reassuring him he‘s not a violent person, it just makes it all so raw

Now he still hasn’t answered what his truth would have been and I have several ideas but one is more hurtful than the other and I‘m just excited to see what you‘ll make out of it, if it is brought up again ofc!

So he finally proposed and wanted to do so for a year, now I hope that’s true and not some lie, even though I think he wouldn’t lie to Reader especially after that confrontation but you never know.

I dread the confrontation between JJ and Reader a little more, it could end well, it could end bad all I know it‘ll hurt real good!

Anyways sorry for yapping what I wanted to say is that every chapter is truly written so so good and I love this series a lot! Thought about this concept from time to time but never really found it written until you and I love it so so much, thank you for sharing this with us!! <3

i keep getting called out for my author's note on that part and i think my problem was i had just been staring at it for so long that i started to despise it + i genuinely didn't realize that many people actually read my author's notes so thats on me

i'm bored at work so let's break this down!

i'm glad you liked the confrontation! at first, this part wasnt going to even exist! i was going to go straight from "awakenings" to the next part but i knew how i wanted the story to end and i knew i wouldn't get there if i didn't let reader speak her mind

i feel like the first thing people think of when it comes to cheating is the other person, so it's not necessarily a case of that's the first thing he thought of it's more of a case of oh, her poor husband type of thing

it would have been so easy for reader to call spencer crazy/insane and just ignore his feelings after the police showed up but i like to think the fact that she took a step back and made sure he was alright really speaks to the love the two of them have for each other

we'll find out his truth soon! i think a lot of people are leaning toward thinking the worst of him and that's not it. it's more akin to reader's truth and less "yeah actually i am in love with your sister" because 1. i am jeid's biggest hater and 2. you will never catch me breaking up the lamontagne family

the confrontation between the sisters is so good. i'm so excited for people to read it.

on blaine (and im talking seasons 2-3 blaine bc thats my baby and they cant take him away from me) i do like angela but i am caught between her and damien. it's the Most theater-kid energy of all the glee characters and they are the Most theater-kid energy of all the smosh members. yeah im not 100p sure what Else to do with either of them so that's just a sub note. unsure on that one !

anyway additional thoughts: jackie might be tina-coded?? hopeless romantic, extremely emotional, low-key diva when she wants to be, incredibly talented and they didn't deserve her. again im talking 1-3 tina. they hated her after that for some fucking reason. and on that note shayne is mike im taking no questions at this time. level-headed, smart, not a singer, just here to be a lil guy. yeah.

i think im gonna go with amanda as rachel. lovingly. SO lovingly. all the silliest rachel moments. i could see a couple different people as her (i think angela is also good here but she's too okay with being wrong/the butt of the joke, and then i think my second choice is tommy) but yeah i think amanda is my top pick. and then i might be so controversial as to say ian is finn-coded. just some guy. team leader. everyone's dad. just seems like he would have things to say about grilled cheesus. and anthony is jesse st. james. goodbye. that's all. these three are THE love triangle moment.

tng update time. last night* we did "the outcast" and "cause and effect."

*once again i am typing this up at 1am. i'll be busy when it posts

the outcast: i had heard sooo much about this one i was kinda disappointed when like the first ten or fifteen minutes wound up being EXCRUCIATING

this is largely due to three things 1. the idea of gender and sexuality being like so fucking antiquated in 1992 or whatever or at least in the minds of the people who wrote this episode, and them also mistaking one for the other 2. gender essentialism ie when soren asks what IS a man/woman we get these ideas of like "women put color on their lips and men don't" 3. extremely horrible lines of dialogue such as "commander tell me about your sexual organs"

like, i agree with jonathan frakes that soren should have been played by a man and that they should have had chemistry anyway AND with the criticisms that the ep didn't go hard enough

THAT SAID. once we got past the initial setup. which again has aged poorly. i was shocked at how hard it DID go for something that aired in 1992. like, my mother loved tng. she watched it air live. MY MOTHER watched this in 1992 when her gay ass little daughter was barely out of diapers. did it sink in? doesn't matter. they put it in front of her eyeballs. profound.

other details of note: GEORDI'S BEARD??? it looked good but he needed just a LEETLE more length on it imo

ik this episode was intended as a gay allegory and not a trans one (or maybe they just wanted to do a little of both) but picard being like we CAAANT interfere is such a pussy ass move. his vibes are so bad lately. yesterday he hated disabled people today he hates gay and trans people like don't you have a job. do you not have stuff to do. it's wack because normally he gets so fucking FIRED UP!!! when human (humanoid) rights are being infringed on. and lately he's just been like well whatever thats none of my business worf should kill himself. unbelievable.

obsessed with whatever will and deanna had going on in this episode. he was like "deanna i met somebody but we'll always be good friends right?" and she was like "absolutely" and then kissed him full on the mouth??? again: OBSESSED.

anyway it was an amazing episode if you can grit your teeth and ignore the bits that aged poorly. considering the time it aired and the opposition to it i think they mostly did a great job

even i got sick of the time loop by the end. it felt like a very long episode. i did love that they kept going and kept dying when i kept thinking they'd finally got it though

my favorite parts of the episode were the spooky parts. the voices in beverly's room, her ALWAYS knocking over that glass no matter where she put it (inevitability <3), data dealing up nothing but threes at the poker game, etc. the card thing literally gave me goosebumps, it was so well done

ALSO, DATA. data saving the day with his final actions TWICE <3

i thought at first the ship they were colliding with was themselves from earlier in the loop but the truth is so much cooler. loooved seeing those old uniforms. still i think that guy would have recognized the enterprise though. like the famous one that completed the first five year mission? he would have been like hold up the enterprise is captained by kirk/whoever followed kirk and that would have been more fun for me. cuz i know tmp is hard to date but kirk was definitely a super famous admiral in the year they entered the continuum. WHATEVER deny me all my fun as usual

Now while i'm here... may as well rate all the gens...

(please note this is just my personal opinion, so don't pay too much mind if you don't agree. Also some of these are pretty biased, so emm... yeah.)

ALSO! I am not rating the remakes in this.

Gen 1(blue/yellow) A classic, the beginning of it all. Pokemon are memorable, gameplay is kinda hard(for me at least haha), I haven't beaten elite four yet cuz I got lost in victory road without an escape rope(I know, I was being stupid). Music is good and probably most memorable, some sprite work is a wee bit wonky but tbh I probably couldn't do much better. Gameplay got a bit boring at times, but I also have literally no attention span. Yellow was probably the best. I liked my lil chonky pikachu. 7/10

Gen 2(gold/crystal): I don't really remember much from my attempted playthrough since it's been a while since i've last played it(note, I didn't get past the 6th gym leader because back when I played it I was kinda lazy so I refused to level up and train my pokemon.), but i'm gonna try to rate it anyway. I like the features they introduced like pokemon breeding, shinies, and the phone(useless but I love it anyway) Good legendaries and characters but I do not like the level scaling(at least I think thats what its called) for the gym leaders, wild pokemon and elite four(even though I didn't beat it, I still tried to do some research). Love the fact they included all of Kanto in the postgame, I wish they would make better postgames for modern games. 6/10

Gen 3(sapphire): The first Pokemon game I played was sapphire! Love the characters, some of the pokemon and the level scaling(or curve? I still can't remember what the correct term is) is pretty good. Sprite work is cute and I like the story. I have not beaten Sapphire yet because a year or so ago my brother deleted my save file(I was at the elite four) and I was pretty bummed so I did not play it for a while, but I recently made a new save and I am going to beat it soon! Right now I am about to fight Winona. Music is definitely second most memorable, absolutely love those trumpet-y bangers of town themes. Love the introduction of pokemon contests, postgame from what I've heard is pretty good too. Hoenn as a region itself is probably a 7.8/10, too much water, but the games themselves? 9/10

Gen 4(platinum): Love these games. First pokemon game I actually beat was platinum. Nice characters, great story, super fun pokemon contests, best legendaries by far, fun, good postgame and something I have not seen in a long time(personally) in pokemon, MEMORABLE BATTLES! I will never forget that final moment in battle when I finally had made it, and beat Cynthia. I was shaking, after grinding for hours and so many failed attempts at beating the elite four, after hearing that intimidating theme song, I will always remember it! I will also remember the battle against Giratina, I had bought over 100 ultra balls for that battle(I wanted the masterball for a post game legendary) and It took many resets before I could catch her. But it was amazing! Gen 4 has some of the best games(especially hggs, but i'm not going over that today)so i'm rating it... 10/10

Gen 5: I have not played much of gen 5 since I am waiting until I get a physical copy before I go more into it(I tried an emulator, but playing the real games always hits different), so I will update once my copy has arrived(It's in the mail!) and I have beaten it. However, from what I have seen and heard about it, it seems amazing. I am automatically giving it a high rating because I love the character design, lore, agencyshipping, Nintendo DS sprite work(best sprite work in the history of pokemon)N and Pidove. I also enjoyed the black and white pokemon anime when I was younger. 11/10

Gen 6: Haven't played it, I want to someday but I can't find an emulator and I don't own a 2ds or 3ds. All I know about it is it introduced pokemon amie, mega evolutions, was the first 3D pokemon game and apparently had issues with the shared exp system(just from what my friends have told me). I was a huge fan of the X and Y anime when I was younger and me and my siblings would pretend to be ash and other trainers from it haha. I like the pokespe arc though, pretty good. Since I haven't played X or Y, I am gonna base this off how much I enjoyed the anime when I was younger and how much I like the pokespe arc. 8/10

Gen 7: Haven't played it either but I really want to, unfortunately until find a way to emulate it somewhere or afford a 3ds, I won't be able to play it. I like some of the pokemon and character designs. It looks like fun, but I also will be rating this based off the anime since I know nothing about it. 5/10 only because when I was younger I was disgusted by the anime. The games look really good though. Hope I can play one of them someday!

Gen 8(sword): Thank goodness im almost done. For me I liked the graphics, and that I could change my characters clothes. Sword was the first 3D pokemon game i played. I thought the 3D aspect was cool, me and my family loved the fact Galar is based off Scotland(we are scottish), however the champion battle kinda disappointed me. Leon was kinda hyped up a bit too much considering I one-shot most of his team. The battles leading up to him weren't really challenging either, and especially since after just finishing platinum, sword really felt like a walk in the park. It was a nice walk in the park though, I enjoyed it. I really liked the camping feature and that I could make curry. I was so very disappointed by the post game though. There's some stuff to do, but unless you enjoy something like pokemon breeding or competitive battling then there's not much to do other than get some more legendaries, buy stuff and complete your pokedex(unless you have the dlc.) Overall, 7/10. Lots of stupid memes and headcanons came out of swsh so...

Gen 9(scarlet): Scarlet was good, could have been so much better though. I like the open world feature, but the fps is so low I feel like i am trying to run a minecraft server on an N64, but slower.(sorry that might have been a little too harsh,) Nintendo literally released a half finished game. I love the concept. I do not like the execution. Also, the textures for the mountains look like they are just copy pasted out of ocarina of time or something. They also should have made the gym leaders not in a specific order? Like if its open world, shouldn't they not have a specific order?? I had no idea about this when first played and I ended up fighting the 4th gym leader first, 8th gym leader sixth and 1st gym leader last. I forget about the rest, but it's kinda funny imagining me walking in with my level 60+ team going into this poor little bug gym and sweeping the leader. Despite all this, the main problem with scarlet and violet are the battles, they are not really memorable, or significant, like I don't really get this warm feeling of satisfaction and pride thinking about when I beat scarlet, not like the feeling I get thinking about the battles in Sapphire or Platinum. Even Sword had more satisfactory and strugglesome battles than scarlet. I would talk about Geeta being too weak and too hyped up throughout the game(I one shot half her team), but everybody has already heard all of the Geeta slander by now, so i'm just going to end it by saying, post game was better than sword, still a little eh without the dlc but relatively good, and my favourite part of scarlet is that I can make the most horrific sandwiches known to mankind in this game. All that being said, I really liked scarlet, I just think Game Freak needs to stop rushing pokemon games and releasing them half finished. I am willing to wait another year as long as it's done(also, it gives Hidenori Kusaka and Satoshi Yamamoto more time to work on new pokespe chapters!! Give them a break, they just got back off hiatus, don't rush them!) For scarlet, i'll give it a 7/10. Only because I don't want this game only to be remembered by poor graphics, but by the horrific sandwiches i made, so i am removing the graphics and low fps from my final rating(however the Geeta battle did take it down from 8 point to 7. I'm sorry but she's so disappointing.

TLDR, Gen 5, 4 and 3 are my favourites.

what the pogtopia traitor arc actually meant

[all names and events mentioned are in regards to the fictional characters and events on the DSMP. warning for talk of paranoia, specifically in regard to cWilbur]

i know its been well over a year, and the "arc" was only ten days, but i think this incident in Pogtopia has gone largely, well, discarded for what i think its intent was

for a brief refresh, im referring to a period of time, starting 10 days prior to the Pogtopia vs Manberg war, where it was revealed by Dream that there was a traitor amongst Pogtopia. there was big contention leading up to the reveal on who would end up being the traitor

and yeah, of course audiences loved playing the game of "who's going to be the traitor??" and theorizing and making fan content, but i think it served a deeper narrative purpose than that.

i think this event was meant to forcibly put the audience in Wilbur's perspective

its hard to ignore that this took place at a time deep in Wilburs paranoia. he didnt trust Tubbo, he didnt trust Techno, he didnt trust practically anyone. noteably, because he feared their betrayal. feared that they were secretly working against him. that anyone claiming to be on his side was actually lying to him.

and it's difficult to make an audience "get" these thought processes and understand the characters perspective, especially when told in a third-person perspective. it largely relies on individual experience, making it uncertain how it will land. thats where the traitor arc comes in.

the traitor arc functions to forcibly put the audience in his shoes. to have those same fears and doubts of whos secretly working against them. the perspective is no longer coming from the monologues of a known spiraling character, it is outlined as a certain threat the audience has to keep in mind.

even if audiences didn't "get" Wilburs thought process prior, the pogtopia traitor arc forces them to feel it, and that is its purpose

SO glad you asked. you see i ALWAYS wanted a jedi mole for vrupet and tried a few different character concepts for that but nothing ever stuck bc i could never figure out a good backstory as to WHY. but now that i replayed SOR on najilah my brain connected the two dots and i couldnt be happier rn.

enter Xhaan (the 'xh' like z in zebra)- Xiame's brother.

i drew him once before and he looks like this while he was still sith:

After he urged Xiame to go to nar shaddaa to save herself, he stayed on dromund kaas with their family and did what his father expected of him; basically to prepare/train to carry on the family legacy and become darth in his father's stead. what his father, or ANYONE in their family (not even xiame) didn't know, was that he was part of the revanites. he worked closely with darth arkous and their other allies in the empire together, staged the assault on tython, you know the drill. unlike arkous he managed to maintain a clean record and play pretend further, though he did not want to be part of this any longer and jumped ship. he wasn't on yavin 4, but his name WAS on the files theron sent both to darth marr and to satele, files which vrupet (who was on yavin 4 with khalid and marr) also got a hold of. as someone who mingled quite a lot in sith society, she noticed his name immediately. now he wasn't the only person she blackmailed with that list, but she was the most intrigued with him; his family had prestige (xiame was declared shipwrecked and dead for the sake of the family's image), he was on his way to a secured seat on the dark council - why would he give that up and side with the revanites? she told her agent rylen to track him down, and once they found his location, she interrogated him. he'd tell her he was only interested in revan's teachings of dark and light and not this battle thats happening during SoR, but that he knew if he returned to the empire now, he'd be declared traitor and killed on the spot if they were merciful. vrupet made him an offer; she will get his name cleared off the list and get him out of imperial space safely, only if he will be her mole in the jedi order. he was dumbfounded at first, but quickly realized that was his only option at both doing his own research on revans teachings and actually surviving out there without the empire on his neck. so, he agreed. and THATS how he went to the order and became jedi, all while being vrupet's inside man in the order. he probably isn't her only one but he doesn't know that and i won't develop them anyway so. trust me they're there. <3

he changed his name and his appearance (took off the golden piercings), and the longer he stayed w the jedi, the more he actually found he agreed with them more than with the sith. by the start of KOTET etc he actually becomes a fullblown jedi, but he's still serving out of fear and he feels TERRIBLE about betraying the order.

at some point his formerly orange eyes will become silver as he embraces the light side more, and he'll make a new saber as well with a frost-blue/silvery blade instead of his former purple one. also adding silver piercings cause he missed wearing them. his armor will be hooded and cover his face cause he's still shy/scared about showing his face as a pureblood in the order

On the plane:

I 49 percented this game that was on the screen thing. I originally wantedto 100% it because funny and also it was quite a surprisingly clever and fun puzzle platformer but there was too much bullshit at the end and im pretty sure level 24 was impossible so yeah excuses i ended it at 69 stars

(Game was called rotating castle i think but i cant find it anywhere on the web)

Then i watched a my little pony movie wonka and little woman (greta gerwig edition) in that order and my ranking would be 1 3 2 if the numbers were the order in which i watched them wow im so clear

After another flight we arrive in the city where my mother was born and where her mother still lives and so we arrive there do arrival things we arrive at my grandmothers home and i find out pretty much all social media is blocked so im currently writing all this in my notes app so i can copy paste it into tumblr later or reuse it whatever.

Then the next day i was the first to wake up and even while im writing this everyone else is still asleep. So my grandmother goes to me and she has made breakfast and its this sweet soup of which 2/3 of the stuff in it i have no clue to what it is. (future me extra notes: one of those things turned out to be sea cucumber. So i can say i ate that now. Which i say because i guess i find that weird? Gosh im realizing how white i actually am from inside) And the entire time we just point at things because i don’t speak any chinese dialect so at some point i try and wake up my mother so she can translate, so i go hey mom your mom is super sweet and she has made all these delicious things but i feel like the entire situation is very awkward because we dont understand each other so can you come, but then instead my father wakes up and starts complaining about being tired and to leave them alone so i go back to pointing at things. Then she has made some rice porridge and comes with a bag of peanuts and im struggling to open it so shes like let me do it but im like no i can do it dont worry and i thought i couldnt be more embarrassed with the current situation already but because im an idiot i rip open the bag too much and a quarter of the peanuts spill onto the floor and i can only say sorry which i dont even think she understands and clean the floor and then later she comes with a broom thing idk the english word and im like ill do it but then she points like no you eat and im eating rice porridge with peanuts while shes cleaning the mess i made and i felt so bad.

Shes so sweet to me and im only being stupid and i dont even know where im going with this this is just what happened anyways wenzhou is great i think.

(Its not really the walkability of this part of the city where i am is horrid)

Oh and then halfway through writing this she comes into the room again and starts putting some kind of creme on my face probably because my skin looks very dry and i dont know what to say so i just stare at my phone a bunch and completely butcher how you would say thank you in mandarin. I so wish i was less awkward.

Waking people up took so long that i fell asleep myself

Anyways things happened next morning apparently its workers day or something so thats cool. Grandmother gave me food while i was still asleep in bed a few times. Mother is currently getting her hair cut/washed at the neighbors home, but thats also their like where they have their kapperszaak idk the english word and google translate is blocked here and the other translators i cant get to work but they professionally cut hairs there but thats also just their home and im sitting in their living room rn while my mother her hair is getting cut in the room next to me.

And now guess what then my mom is like now its your turn, like my hair isnt short enough already. I dont need to be bald. And then i just sit there and have my hair cut as well while i hear the rest of the people in the house yell and like idk play a board game or something. But it wasnt a lot of hair that got cut so it was fine okay i guess.

After that i fell asleep again well

A few years ago i was in germany and they had this very fancy life and times book but it was thicker than this chinese one but it was also smaller in like size im thinking about that now. That was also a cool book.

There are so many Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse comics that could be made into live-action movies or tv series with very few changes and they would just… work.

2) nami's jp va was KILLING IT the entire time holy wow every time she spoke my heart BROKE

my memory is a bit spotty but i rmr artem's core message being "justice Will come, what we do Still matters." meanwhile luke...justice and what he does still matters to him too, but hes very well acquainted with the darkness of the world. much too acquainted with it, even. he says he wants to bring light to the world because of this, but wasnt the entire point of that colleague's spiel about not letting the darkness consume one's self? maybe im overreading (im totally overreading) but luke is a victim as well. not by a criminal (at least not that we know of, yet....whO CONTAMINATED HIS MEDICINE ALL THOSE YEARS AGO?? I WANT ANSWERS!!!) but by life's circumstances. and, well, given the disposition we see from him in the main story 9 pv....i think luke focused so much on bringing light to others that he neglected to stay afloat from the darkness of it all himself

P: cool. the topic for discussion today is the evolution of derek. but like the concept of derek. not this derek’s canon character development or whatever. to start by looking at the first ever image of derek that i scrolled through my camera for 10 minutes to find.

if you didnt know already, his name was Dolan at first. the name Derek is fairly recent.

D: Dolan. What an ugly nerd name.

P: right. also. his design was based off a bottle of water i found at the grocery store. back then i had a weird tendency to draw very thin necks for some reason. along with very short torsos and long legs. so thats why the proportions look really weird.

D: That explains why you draw really thick necks now to compensate. Hahaha.

P: basically the beta concept for his story was that he lived in Hell and had an incredibly powerful wand that he inherited by accident after getting lost in the snowy woods or something. (Dolan) didnt really know what kind of responsibilities came with the wand and consistently wanted to become a magician (not fantasy kinda magic... like card tricks kind of magic) and misused the wand for trivial things such as taking a shortcut to the grocery store.

D: So I’ve been a amateur magician since birth!

P: yes. its incredible how youve stayed an amateur for this long. fun fact: harlow was also created at a similar time and was exes with one of luciano’s brothers. wow. the prosciuttoverse was a cesspool back then. a furry world PLUS heaven/hell setting? get outta here.

P: right i think dolan was meant to be in his early 20s. like literally every other oc i had at the time. next, the start of 2021 was when i revamped/redesigned dolan.

P: the story concept was also pretty different from the original. basically i made a whole hierarchy for both heaven and hell and the world was completely extinct so everyone was either in heaven or hell. the world itself was the wence boys’ world. so the story wouldve taken place way way in the future. blah blah blah something about heaven being evil or corrupt or something corny like that, and dolan (being half devil/angel what a cliche) wanted to change The System (tm). also he was running a campaign 2 be ruler of hell or something as part of his plan. maybe he was evil maybe he wasnt idk. its old corny stuff.

D: Sounds like boring philosophical politics. Bluh bluh.

P: yeah. anyways timeskip to later in the year when i completely revamped your story AGAIN! ill try to limit the pictures from now on because im almost at the max 10.

P: so at this point. there was a heaven/hell but it wasnt the main setting it just existed. there was an office kinda deal going on for the admin stuff. a dead persons soul could either be reincarnated in heaven/hell or destroyed iirc. there were 4 different departments because people die all the time so they categorized them. dolan had the biggest department because it was Death by natural causes/accidents. the 3 other were Pestilence (disease), War (conflict or generally murder), Famine. at this time i changed dolan’s name to Death because he was literally the grim reaper. he also wasnt God at this time. there was still some kind of higher power i think it was Stig. harlow was human and also lesbian now. nothing else interesting.

D: So when did I become Derek?

P: I dunno. some time after my birthday? when i started the storyline where you became human for a bit and needed a human name for Death. then i just got tired of calling you Death and stuck with Derek because it is better in every way.

D: Excellent judgement.
