10: Churro kiss set. I do think this is a nice set and I really like the colouring, but tbh it's only on the list because I didn't make enough gifs this year and I really don't like the other two sets I made that actually have extra stuff added in lmao

9: ATOG characters set. I think this is a really fun set! I had a lot of fun with the overlays and different fonts and trying to figure out which scenes would work best to represent the characters as they are in the fic. And something about a cutout in the middle of blocky text with cursive text filling it in??? Idk man it just hits for me personally

8: Candles set. Listen Blaine might have been a little off his rocker for choosing this song but the lyrics really work for them later on??? You can stay mad about it if you want but I'm into it. I think this is a fun set. There are probably some things I'd change if I were to do it over, but I still enjoy it as is.

7: Klaine through the seasons set for Klaine Secret Santa. It's not too complicated technically speaking, but I think the colouring came out super nice and vibrant and the concept is just fun and I love a nice fade and perfect loop you know?

6: Message in a Bottle Brittana set for glifswap. I'm super happy with how the colouring turned out in this one because when I started it was a challenge, mainly with how red the last gif was but I think I made it work! The green was also a fun challenge for me, but overall I'm very happy with how this set turned out.

5: Guilty as Sin Kurtbastian set. There's something to be said for some nice simple text slapped on a crunchy old looking set you know?? This one is like. Understated but it hits right I think. If that makes sense. And it's very me with the desaturated colours lmao (I am working on that in general but in this set it works)

4: I Can Fix Him No Really I Can Kurtbastian set. I went in a pretty different direction with this set vs any other set I've ever made and I think the effect ended up looking super cool! Very happy with this set.

3: Prom Queen set! I love the concept and I just think they came out so crisp and pretty.

2: Dark Blue Kurt set. This is like... the epitome of backslasdelta gifs. Immaculate vibes. It pains me to not put it in first place tbh because I do think it's gorgeous and so me, but it's only missing out because there are a couple minor flaws I can pick out and it doesn't really have any fancy effects like the first place entry has.

1: Yet again a gifset I made for you tops the list lmao it's gotta be the Brittana Best of Me set in first place. Like it just turned out gorgeous and is technically the best set I've done this year. I think I just am more dedicated to making things perfect when I'm making things for you with your input, whereas when I'm making them on my own I'm lazy sometimes sldkjfg

More post-mersault Dazai hcs w/ the ADA and others? 🤞😭

hmm okay well obviously cane user dazai is very near and dear to me. but also..

because of how long kunikida was without his hands, after yosano heals him, he ends up with hand tremors. this, of course, is very hard to deal with considering his ability and his workaholic tendencies. he has to relearn how to do a lot of basic tasks while accounting for his tremors

shockingly (not really), dazai is the one who best knows how to aid kunikida in his recovery process. which is by just.. acting as if it's normal. the others tend to fall into the trap of over-correcting and being too concerned, while dazai doesn't treat him any differently than pre-doa arc

but really, dazai is just sort of treating kunikida how he wants everyone to treat him

overall, dazai gets less of the "too concerned" treatment mostly because he's significantly better at hiding/playing down his disability than kunikida is. which comes partly from just who dazai is and how he acts in general. but also because kunikida clearly uses his hands for everything; whereas dazai spends a lot of time lazing around and not standing up at work anyways, so he isn't putting much strain on his leg unless he's actively working a case

eventually, the ada do realize they can be a bit overbearing towards kunikida at times and back off, because while he might have trouble using his hands now, he is still fully capable of doing most things on his own

back to dazai. despite his issues with his leg, he still very much prefers to take the stairs whenever possible

(he'd die before admitting it, but for a while, he only really feels safe in an elevator if chuuya is nearby) (though, it does help if someone else is in the elevator with him)

he blames it on feeling claustrophobic in confined spaces after spending so much time trapped in a prison cell. ranpo and sigma know that's a lie, but they don't call him out on it

after being coaxed into it by yosano, kunikida, and chuuya, dazai starts going to physical therapy for his leg. yosano does very thorough research on physical therapists in yokohama and comes up with a list of possibilities for him. kunikida goes with him to his first appointment as moral support, which dazai obviously would never admit he wanted but he does very much appreciate it

chuuya, kunikida, and yosano take turns driving him to pt. it started out as a sort of accountability thing, to make sure he was actually going to the appointments, but dazai does actually like having someone there waiting for him to be done. even if he would absolutely never say it aloud.

once, when everyone else is busy, ranpo ends up going with him. they grumpily call it babysitting duty but when junichirou offers to go instead, they say "no no. it's fine. i'm already up out of my seat." dazai assumes they just want to skip out on work, but ranpo really just wanted to assure dazai made it to the appointment and was worried he would try to slip away from the others if they went with

eventually, once it's clear dazai is content to go to pt without strict accountability, the other ada members also start taking turns going with him to keep him company. dazai always says they don't have to and he's fine to go alone, but he doesn't argue hard enough to actually sway them out of it bc he does appreciate having someone go with him

dazai also starts spending more time at chuuya's place again, which he hasn't really done since their mafia days. but something shifted after meursault and chuuya lets him back in with minimal complaint. it's almost offputting, but dazai doesn't think too much about it at first

he just assumes that he'll spend a couple weeks breaking into chuuya's place, annoying them, and then he'll eventually get kicked out and that'll be that

it takes him way too long to realize that chuuya actually feels guilty about the leg injury. because chuuya will not say that and dazai won't straight up ask why chuuya is being nicer than normal because they're still so bad at communication. but they get there eventually and dazai is just. actually genuinely surprised that chuuya would feel guilty, especially when it's really not their fault - they're the reason it wasn't worse. and dazai deserved worse, especially from chuuya of all people

but chuuya, who also has to deal with chronic pain from their ability, sees dazai with his cane and going to pt knowing that it's not ever going to be enough to permanently fix it, and it's just a constant reminder that because they didn't slow the elevator just a little bit more, or they didn't make the splint just a little bit sturdier, or they didn't insist dazai lean on them for support while walking out of meursault, or any other number of tiny things chuuya could have done to help at the time, dazai is also going to be suffering chronic pain for the rest of his life. dazai, who notoriously hates pain, who doesn't want to be alive because he doesn't see the point of it, now also has to deal with persistent pain that will never go away

after they (gasp) actually talk about this a bit, things start to go back to normal, with the two of them bickering and arguing like always. chuuya still never kicks dazai out when he shows up, though

not to be too self-serving but. at some point, dazai orchestrates a situation in which chuuya and kunikida are forced to interact outside the contexts of their jobs. because maybe he kind of likes both of them and he also thinks that if they can both put aside the mafia/ada thing, they would also like each other (and they do <3)

dazai, chuuya, and kunikida all have problems with pushing themselves past their limits. dazai bc he isn't used to caring about/taking care of his body and chuuya & kunikida bc they're both workaholics. but the three of them help remind each other to take breaks when needed (even if they all sound hypocritical doing so)

especially once they move in together, they all help each other out on bad days with pain flare ups/etc.

ranpo is also very good at telling when dazai and kunikida are pushing themselves too hard and they are not afraid to snitch on them to yosano and/or chuuya. depending on which they deem would be more effective at the time

dazai and lucy have a very frenemies-like dynamic which is actually beneficial for them both bc they need someone they can snark at who is absolutely not afraid to dish it right back out at them. it starts with dazai complaining to lucy that she isn't as nice as the other cafe waitresses and lucy's like "not my fault i'm the only one who isn't won over by empty flirting. you're not even that pretty idk" and instead of actually getting offended dazai's just like YES. someone i can ARGUE WITH!

kunikida is annoyed by their dynamic until he realizes that they're both having fun and it's like some weird form of enrichment for them

dazai has trouble getting along with aya at first, because he really has no idea how to interact with young children. kyouka and kenji are old enough and mature enough that he can manage with them. but the children aya's age he's interacted with are.. elise and q. who he didn't have the most. um. nice and normal interactions with.

he's also wary of interacting with aya bc he knows kunikida cares about her and kunikida also wants a partner who is good with kids and if dazai reveals he cannot interact with kids to save his life, he'll ruin any chance he ever had with kunikida

eventually, he's forced into a situation where he has to actually have a one-on-one conversation with aya, and she's very snarky and mean to him at first and he's like "okay cool. good to know i was right about my negative skill level interacting with kids 👍"

so he makes some comment to aya about not being good with kids (sarcastic and rude, but it does hold truth to it) and aya just. stops. and is like hold on i thought you just didn't like me specifically.

anyway once they get past that misunderstanding, dazai finds he doesn't actually mind aya that much. though he's still not a fan of kids in general

i do think it would also be a little funny if that ^ gender crisis is happening at the same time as chuuya having their own gender crisis. that #relatable moment when you and your supposed rival who you're sort-of-but-not-really living with and who you're sort-of-but-not-really dating both start questioning your gender at the same time, completely separate of the other and not even realizing that the other is having a similar crisis

okay anyway this is so long so i will end it here

basically i just think. dazai using a mobility aid would be a really fascinating way to visually show that he's learned he needs to depend on others for support (which is one of the big themes in bsd - the good guys win because they work together; fyodor failed because he refuses to trust anyone he can't completely manipulate)

+ dazai, who hates pain and has been suicidal since at least age fourteen, deciding that even with his disability and chronic pain, it's still worth it to keep pushing forward and surviving

Sleepover Saturday: what drives you to play an instrument?

It’s probably joy, but I want to hear more details that that :)

For me, percussion is like being the mechanic of the band/orchestra what with all the weird stands and usually having too many parts for however many percussionists there are

i think when i was younger it was sheer curiosity? it's hard to pin it down. i've always been kind of magnetically attracted to instruments and just sort of jumped at any opportunity to play them, whether that be in elementary school music class to piano lessons to worming my way into the circle of old farts playing bluegrass together in the park on a weekend

and then i grew up and went to college. ultimately i gave up a lot of the instruments i used to play for various reasons and just stuck with oboe/english horn as my main (with piano and voice as somewhat distant secondaries). and like, the thing w/ playing in orchestra and being in music school is that you are really immersed in a world where music performance is kind of a given, it's just a fact of life, so if you're gonna live there for any amount of time and enjoy it, you have to find some reason to stick with it so that you don't burnout (because it is a LOT of, at times quite demoralizing, work). and i'll be honest, on its own, there isn't a ton about the oboe that inherently makes me like playing it? i'm so very shit at motivating myself to hit the practice room and do etudes and scales and long tones and all that guff, and if i'm being honest i kind of haven't done that since undergrad. but i still try to play regularly, i still want to play, and i still enjoy it -- just not locked in a little room all by myself.

now as an adult/semi professional musician, i definitely still play out of love for the art, but also the community of it, and a sense of, like, being useful. like, before i was anything else i was a pianist, but by high school i was mostly an accompanist rather than a soloist, and today i'm far more an ensemble player than a soloist (now i've shifted focus to almost solely oboe/english horn). and that's something that i've come to realize is a huge part of it for me -- i feel comfortable in a community of musicians, and i enjoy collaborating with them to make music. i am not particularly adept at playing solo, nor do i particularly enjoy it/am particularly comfortable with it. music is a social outlet for me, and while it definitely is a ton of work, i enjoy getting to put in that work for other people, and be supported by other people putting in work around me, and it all goes to a common goal. when i was younger i use think i hated group projects because i always got stuck doing all the work for everyone i got assigned to work with who didn't give a damn, but when i started playing in orchestra regularly i realized i actually love working in groups -- as long as everyone else knows what their part of the job is and fulfills it. i love getting to be a part of that, of doing my part of the group's work, that no one but me can do (well arguably any other oboist at roughly my skill level could do that, but the thing about oboists is that we're rather few and far between compared to a lot of other instruments). i like being reliable, i like doing work with and for people, i like being the guy that people will call on when they need some help with a music thing because they know they can count of me. i love feeling like i'm wanted. i love feeling like i'm part of the community. and the fact that i get to, on occasion, make some beautiful music on occasion is a real cherry on top

Ahuska: Does your character personify objects? - I'd say generally in a very ordinary sort of way, really. That said, even though she only recognised her Force Sensitivity for what it was quite late in life compared to many, she's always been particularly attuned to the natural world and to living things. So her descriptions of plants, for example, might have been more likely to lean into personifications based on what she was genuinely feeling from them (...those flowers are thirsty, look how those branches are reaching for the sun...) as opposed to how she'd talk about a rock or a cloud or a vehicle, but still it would be more about vivid communication rather than any genuine perception of 'personhood'. Would your character eat or drink something they didn’t like to appease someone (bananas)? - Depends on the level of dislike. Ahuska isn't especially fussy and in general would much rather avoid conflict than refuse to eat something she doesn't favour. BUT, when it comes to something like bananas, which are vile fruits spawned from the toxic waste pipes of Hutta, Ahuska would explain that even if she tried to eat them, she wouldn't be able to keep them down. If they were offered to her as a kind gesture she'd appreciate it but politely refuse. If it was a matter of some sort of, I don't know, political alliance that hinged on gifting consumables, she might make up a little white lie about being allergic because frankly all the goodwill and political necessity in the galaxy couldn't turn them into something actually palatable. What is your character’s favorite form of affection? - Oof. She is by nature a very affectionate girl in almost every way. She adores gifts, both giving and receiving. Sharing experiences, being playful and able to laugh together. Feeling listened to and supported. But I think pure, honest physical affection is what means the most to her and what she craves most deeply... making it all the more tragic that physical touch in certain scenarios can send her spiralling into a panic attack. Is there a habit your character has that they learned from someone else? - Ahahaha. If she's ever caught out giving someone a suggestive little waggle of her eyebrows, or baring her teeth in a massive grin that splits her snout, you can be pretty confident those are gestures that she picked up from a certain Crow.

Ulfran: What is a talent your character wishes they had? - Having spent his formative years as a devout Padawan followed by decades of devoted service to the Order while undercover, Ulfran never really pined for any sort of skills that he didn't have the means to study and learn. That said, he is currently wishing he was as patient and introspective as he is sure he once was, though the side of him that acknowledges these are skills that need to be actively worked on and kept sharp is warring pretty hard with the side of him that says he shouldn't have to care about petty things like being patient with others when they're being combative and reckless. What is a topic your character wouldn’t want to talk about? - Ulfran is not at all forthcoming about the subject of past affections. There's a lot of pain there. He'd also rather not discuss how long he was working in service of the Jedi Order, nor when and how that changed. That's his business and not open for the input of others. What is a topic your character would be excited to talk about? - Ancient history and archaeology and the Force-associated properties of crystals across the galaxy. Gods how he'd love to just forget about all the threats and posturing and social climbing associated with being a Sith Lord and just wax nostalgic about cave dives and tomb raids and unique crystal clusters.... Does your character have a high pain tolerance? - It's pretty impressive to the average being, yes, and he trained for it specifically to be able to withstand the various traps he used to have to work his way through and past back in his exploring and adventuring days. Later, he put it to use while learning to channel lightning, into which he put countless hours of practice to put on a convincing show without actively drawing on the Dark Side (and therefore only hurting himself) - though nowadays, he doesn't bother with the façade and just goes to town letting that dark energy burn his opponents.

no truly it's so clear that louis' happiness is dictated entirely by armand's perception of his comfort which is to say whatever shuts him up most efficiently and keeps him dependent. vacuuming on valium even. like ziska said armand is not a child or even frozen in a childlike state he was turned at twenty seven that conflict is not one he faces (but one definitely relevant to another of our protags the push and pull of being infantilized + subject to exploitation and yet lacking support because asserting yourself as an adult demands you do not seek it. i wonder why she's never brought up. the mystery) what he has is childhood trauma. which explains his behavior but does not justify it anyway he's been a leader centuries longer than he's been anything else. been in power too long to give it up for anything else. he picks the coven over louis not bc he has abandonment issues but bc they are, have been, and likely will continue to be, if not under his thumb, then something very close to it merely out of habit and comfort. he says as much to louis in the room split by sunlight across the floor like a knife to meat. again it's roles they're playing like you said armand gets to put on and take off the masks whenever he desires ! he holds the leash. says louis you can pretend to walk me around on it now. and then gently takes it out of louis' hands at the dawn of the smallest questioning look. not that that can't be sexy but it comes down to the fact that louis' dominance is a farce, one facilitated by armand's dominance at that. and the second he steps out of line he even loses the luxury of that farce (armand slamming the door shut with a single gaze in ep5 "tape" so louis can't see him torture daniel.....over his weak cries) like armand wants louis' love desperately but ultimately is he that different from lestat in wanting that love in the form of gratitude for what he provides. clearly he's secure enough in it to put control first and repeatedly materially abuse it in his favor to keep louis guilty and desperate for absolution only he can mete out. it's textbook ! and yet

And idk if it's moreso a crackship or a rarepair that only works in an AU (HACKS up Starstruck), but Reggie's line of "...and I hope Ollie made it out too. I hope a lot of things." It's totally me reading into it but like,,,,I want them to talk because Ollie is not dead to me in my heart of hearts.

Maybe the only change is like Reggie taps into the communication on the radio in Hot Water instead of using the earpiece, so Ollie ends up hearing him also? And they end up getting along really well (with Reggie having to jump through a couple hoops to be like "haha what agency..."). There's an Agency base in the South-East coast of Australia and maybe the Agency ends up adopting him after he washes up on the shore with the escape pod (after HEAVY questioning).

hello :] ! firstly, thank u ! i’m very glad u like the big bow i gave him !!

to be perfectly honest with u, most of my designs and their elements don’t have a ton of conscious thought to them … to me, they just Feel Right, if that makes any sense ? it’s pure intuition. i gave kieran a big bow on his hat (u can’t hardly ever see it usually but it’s there) and i thought it would be very cute to have javi match with him :’] and personally, with javier’s sense of style, i do think he would accessorize more if given the circumstance, including things like bows (canonically he usually wears similar items around his neck- we could dare to say a few were originally hairpieces), so i just think it suits him ! so no crazy backstory, but the design i draw him with is post-kieran influence, which means that his bow is much bigger than the one i headcanon he used to wear before kieran gifted him bigger ribbons. i’d draw what pre and post kieran javi designs look like to me but im at work </3

beetee post-wiress death focuses a lot on hcs i haven’t spoken about on here before so… i might be intentionally vague on this post. i also just don’t like talking about wiress dying. i prefer to just ignore that and pretend lmao.

i don’t think he commits suicide. ik that that was incredibly dark to start off with, but i have seen the hc before, and i don’t agree with it. i do think he thought about it though.

he isn’t very connected with the other victors. katniss doesn’t want to talk to him, considering the bomb, and he doesn’t want to talk to her in fear of what he might say to her (not nice things, that’s for sure). peeta is civil, but since he’s with katniss so much it’s not like he has that many chances to talk to him. he talks to haymitch sometimes, but not all that much. johanna and him didn’t like each other all that much before the rebellion, and that continued post rebellion as well.

really the only victors he talks to semi-regularly are annie and enobaria. i really like the hc that annie and beetee get closer after the rebellion, maybe just because they’re both widows, maybe just for that companionship they both lost. they don’t live together or anything, but they do talk on the phone weekly or biweekly.

beetee checks on enobaria every few weeks directly after the rebellion. she found the constant contact very annoying at first, and confusing since they didn’t have all that many interactions pre-rebellion. at some point, she decided if he wasn’t going to stop, she might as well just get used to it. it’s not that regular as the post-rebellion period continues, but they talk every few months at least.

(above explanation: beetee has a strange companionship with D2 victors, because, usually, like him, they have complex feelings about the murder they committed in the games. he didn’t want to lose the one person who might understand that about him. he also didn’t want the last person he knew of that was also friends with brutus to kill themselves).

he definitely moves back to Three. Three is home to him, and always will be, and i genuinely think that he would hate his life if he lived anywhere else. he definitely missed it in D13.

i do think he lives to like an insanely old age ngl. he definitely made jokes about being immortal.

I loooooove phone jack as a concept unfortunately I haven't managed to build a coherent thought since the summer of '92 but let me try like. I mean he'd be undeniably one of the fucking worst ones hands down. Steven would blush next to how atrocious of a boss phone Jack would be.
