i have never hidden that amongst other reasons such as great storytelling and chemistry, i love sauron x galadriel bc im a dead dove enjoyer 🙏 brothers i dont care that it aint vanilla im a hannigram veteran 🙏 how is it my problem if some media illiterate puritans dont understand the difference between fiction and reality, lmao?
"is it love or is it actually an obsession?"
girl wtf are u even talking about? be fr for a moment.
this is satan's secretary ur talking about. galadriel is the only being he became capable of loving OFC he is going to be obsessive and possessive and creepy and INHUMAN in his love of her???
now if u cant decipher the way the narrative is screaming at u that he loves her, again, im not ur media studies teacher, but if u think a mythological evil incarnate is going to love in a pure, healthy way... then idk what to tell u either...
and as for galadriel? her love language is fighting. she takes nenya, the symbol of her fight against her mortal enemy, that she wears like an engagement ring to valinor. she is insane as well.
anyways, whatever happens in the end of s2, that fight scene is going to inspire some insane dead dove fics 🙏
give me that yandere!sauron groping brat!galadriel in the mind-palace!

see, on the one hand, the figure of "the good orc" has immense storytelling potential that I'm not willing to abandon, but on the other, despite the problems it poses, problems both I and the author are/were aware of — LotR and Silm do need irredeemable monsters for the heroes to fight serving as the troops of the enemy, because it simply serves the story they tell. Tolkien actually has a lot to say about morality during war, but he simply isn't interested in looking at the issue of killing the enemy in self-defense that closely, perhaps in order to give himself space to focus on that other stuff.
we are made assume there is no other way and move on to those more secondary questions (in the sense of them being built upon the answer to the first one in some ways). but having seen ww1 Tolkien was, I think, simply uninterested in spending yet more time within that same paradigm he found himself trapped in, the war where you and the foot-soldiers on the other side have nothing against eachother personally and are expected to kill.
this is aside from the matter that questions lotr and silm poses are not always applicable to real life anyway (speculative fiction is the term, after all) — as real life warfare isn't at the same time symbolical of a conflict between good and evil as absolutes, but the answer to the age-old query about authorial intent is plainly not that Tolkien himself thought of the world in such simplified terms, but that these terms were part of the set-up to his story.

okay i forget if i already made a post about this but i think the fact that franziska full-names edgeworth is really interesting!!
I know that she full names basically everyone when she addresses them but edgewrth specifically she only called "Miles" when we see them interacting as younger people. So she consciously switched to calling him "Miles Edgeworth" at some point which we can infer either was her growing up and deciding to be hyper-formal to show how grown up she is (probable but in my opinion she was trying to do this even at 13 so it doesnt make sense to me that that would motivate this change) OR!!!! was a reaction to the events of turnabout goodbyes/ Edgeworth faking his death
Franziska referring to Edgeworth by his full name is interesting for a couple of reasons, mostly due to the fact that she is continually bringing up his family name and therefore both M. E.'s relationship to his father and also the fact that her and edgeworth have very different fathers with differing baggage accompanying those relationships
We can see franziska calling edgeworth by his last name as a way of her belittling him as she often does by implying that he is not a Von Karma/ therefore bellow her BUT!! we also know from the airport convo in 2-4 that she USED to consider him a von karma...
and that allegedly her view on this changed recently.
I think its also worthy to point out though, that franziska calling him miles edgeworth also places an importance on a part of edgeworth's life that MvK did his best to erase or weaponize against him. MvK interestingly refers to him as "Edgeworth" so her adding this could be a show that they are more informal now because he ran away/ betrayed her/ the VK legacy ect. but also at this point she knows that MvK was guilty! And that Edgeworth sr. "beat" MvK (in whatever wild way von karmas categorize winning/ losing) so i like to think that theres something almost kind about referring to him as his whole name, symbolically seeing him as a whole person, acknowledging his past that shaped him from before they knew each other,,, </3
anyways this was very rambling but in conclusion i love them and good night

Did someone ask for me to info dump about my characterization of Grian? No? Well, too bad, you’re getting it anyway
The way I organized this is based on the character study document I made like, a year and a half ago, so some of the details matter and some of them don’t. They’re all gonna be included anyway, though, because I said so :]
His full legal name is Grian H. Dreamslayer. Why? Because Scar said so LMAO. I literally have no clue what the “H” even stands for (Hermit?) but like. Does it really matter? Idk man he’s just some guy so I’m not gonna think about it that much
He is an avian hybrid, with traits specifically derived from crows. He also has “Watcher” traits, which are manifested visually as pink/purple-y feathers & an Evo symbol on his forehead. He also has “void magic”, which is basically the ability to harness the void and bend it to his will. However, he doesn’t like his Watcher traits, so he uses the void to hide them! He can make permanent darkness cover his feathers so all of them look black, and casts his forehead in shadow to hide the symbol. He also tends to hide his headwings, which he does by creating a sort of “rift” around them so they aren’t visible.
Grian is very reactive to his environment. He’s willing to be proactive when the situation calls for it—especially because he’s a natural leader—but, he usually prefers to see how things happen naturally. He’s somewhat complacent out of reflex, but when he’s in his right mind, he hates taking orders & is not fond of authority figures. With small/everyday things, he can be really argumentative against things he disagrees with. In important situations, however, he typically airs on the side of caution. Grian likes to pry for information, but isn’t always the most tactful. He knows knowledge is power, but sometimes he’s too conspicuous about gaining said knowledge, and people can be tipped off by it.
A few other details about him:
Smells like: wind, spring air, clean/fresh
He is street smart: has special knowledge of hunting & foraging, as well as close-quarters combat
Likes: tea, pastries (big sweet tooth)
Dislikes: coffee (he drinks it anyway and whines the whole time)
Passions: flying, studying magic
Habits/”quirks”: his wings are very emotive, he bites his nails & pulls his hair when stressed
Special, plot-relevant skills: gunslinger, knife enthusiast
He has a terrible sleep schedule (night owl)
Idk how to end a post but that’s all for now! I’ll keep posting stuff about other characters to here, I think :]
If you’re interested in reading my fic, it’s This Profession is Not Scar-Safe on AO3! Beware of hermitshipping, as it’s a Scarian-centric fic.
Thanks for listening to my drabbles :]

not enough TimJay content takes advantage of the fact that the Red Robin mantle and suit were Jason's first, and Tim effectively stole Jason's shit that Jason wanted to throw away. Tim took Jason's name, his suit, to go on a one-man crusade when he's at odds with the Batfamily. You're telling me Jason wouldn't be weirdly offended but also weirdly turned on by that?
robin (1993) #177
robin (1993) #178
And yes, Tim only knows about the Red Robin suit's existence because Ulysses Armstrong stole it for a hot second, but the fact he stole the suit from Ulysses and fucking kept it? Even before he had any reason to? Like before becoming Red Robin, Tim just kept a suit he knew belonged to Jason despite openly disliking Jason for. Reasons. And later on, it's explicitly confirmed Tim's wearing it because it's Jason's legacy? That's the most toxic gay shit I've ever seen.
adventure comics (2009) #3
Tim's punishing himself with Jason's image. Jason, who has been constantly trying to get Tim to see things his way and work with him would lose his mind over that. There's such a potential for a toxic possessiveness to it all, Tim branding himself with Jason's suit and name. The assumptions Jason would make about Tim because of it. The way Jason could hold that over Tim's head, that they really are one and the same, and deep down, Tim must know it to some degree, if he became Red Robin when he felt replaced as Robin. I truly do not think Jason would ever shut up about it. As a fan of 'possessive/weirdly obsessed with Tim' Jason, I think this would take Jason's weird feelings about Tim to the next level. And if Tim will punish himself just by wearing Jason's legacy, imagine how much more he'd punish himself for falling for Jason too. Weird freaky little masochist who tortures himself through Jason seems exactly Jason's type, tbh. I'm feral about it.
