I've... been watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood again.....

Blurbles about all the hermits under the cut!

Rendog: Wolf Chimera. He has a human form he rarely uses, and generally gets away in public with the glaringly obvious lie of "Oh all this hair? It's a... uh... rare skin condition." It does help that his best friend is a known doctor and somewhat mad scientist. Shortly after he was created he killed his creator and stole their philosopher stone, entrusting it to Doc, a friend he had before his chimera-fication. He and Mumbo came from the same facility.

Docm77: Military and Cosmetic Automail Engineer. Started off in Rush Valley and, once he decided he knew enough about automail, started to work his way up through the military building specialized prosthetics. He's been trying to launch a body modification program for years, viewing it as a more humane was of augmenting humanity than the fleshcraft that comes with human transmutation. He was, understandably, horrified when Ren showed up on his doorstep one day as a chimera.

Bdubs: Istvalan Creation Alchemist. Bdubs is a freelance alchemist not associated with any military powers -- and he's trying desperately to keep it that way. His creations are intricate, and he specializes in a wide variety of materials. He's best known for his experimental [and extremely temperamental] "Pretty-Alchemy", where he McGuivers transmutation circles and equations on how they "feel" instead of how alchemically sound they are.

Welsknight [and Helsknight]: Soul-bound armor. A pair of swordsmen who were forced into a suit of armor to guard the chimeric facility that created so many monsters. Welsknight, the brains of the operation, is situated in the helmet while Helsknight, the stronger fighter, is bound to the chestplate. They spent a lot of time bickering amongst each other, but when their goals happen to align, they are a force to be reckoned with. When their facility was destroyed, they were ordered to kill the escaping chimeras -- until a very charismatic Ren convinced them to flee instead.

False: Military sniper. She spends a lot of time fending off Doc's advances [ie. automail modifications to help her shoot and aim better]. She's worked her way up through the ranks because of her skill, but her general aversion to leading and governing keeps her out of the upper echelons of Central Command. Instead she finds herself bouncing between command stations whenever uprisings occur in Amestris. She was one of the military officers sent to respond to the chimera facility's collapse. When she recognized Ren among the people escaping, she found there was "too much smoke" to take proper aim at the escaping creatures. She was demoted shortly after the event, not that it bothered her much.

Grian: The Updraft Alchemist. One of the few alchemists who have ever taken up Doc on his offer for cosmetic automail. The wings attach to nerves in his shoulder blades, and after several years of tweaking, actually respond to his movements. He can't fly with them per-se, they function more like an incredibly sensitive glider -- which works just fine for Grian, since he specializes in temperature alchemy, causing dramatic updraft/downdrafts. He was not at the chimera facility event, but has become good friends with many of the people involved through Doc -- he spends so much time getting his wings repaired after his various crashes, he almost lives in Doc's work room.

Tangotek: The Fuse-Metal Alchemist. He mostly uses alchemy in welding and crafting, though he's been known to create fire and weapons on the fly when he needs to. As a state alchemist, he's expected to be a living weapon on some level -- and his powerful alchemy definitely helps with that, though he's best at making walls and fortresses than he is at real standing combat. No one knows how he got ahold of his philosopher's stone -- in fact, most people don't even know he has one. He only uses it when he feels like his life is threatened [or needs a good kick to make something truly impressive]. He used to work in the chimera facility, making containment for the more volatile creatures. He's absorbed a lot of the theory on human transmutation, but has yet to use it.

Mumbo: Lizard Chimera and Chimera Expert. Mumbo's first miraculous use of transmutation was to turn himself into a chimera. Unfortunately, lizards aren't quite as smart as people are, so it took some time to relearn the formula and materials involved. He was subject 0 at the chimera facility, and, once he'd regained his wits, helped in the experimentation into chimera crafting -- though he was under the impression all the subjects were willing volunteers like he was... oh dear. He was the one who orchestrated the escape, and, having befriended Ren by then, escaped with him when the facility collapsed. He swears he'll never do human transmutation again -- except maybe on himself. Like, being able to climb up walls is nice and all, but imagine what he could do with bird wings? Or a bull's strength? Or--

As it goes with every new brainrot I have, it’s time for Kirby crossover again :)

Kirby in one piece! With one piece’s strong focus on dreams and found family, I thought it would fit for Kirby to be a pirate that dreams of sailing to the stars and beyond. Not that this is very achievable by normal means, but we know that it’s at least possible with Eneru and the Skypiea arc :D

Kirby has the devil fruit power of the copy-copy fruit! A paramecia activated by contact and only able to copy one fruit at a time. It can copy logias and paramecias with no problems, though actual ability using the fruit’s powers is up to Kirby to practice and figure out. Zoans can only be copied to partial transformations and cannot be awakened. Kirby doesn’t have much of a mind for haki but has a lot of latent conquerer’s haki that he doesn’t realize— it’s one of the reasons he’s able to make friends so effortlessly.

Meta Knight in this AU is a retired marine, between Captain and Rear Admiral level. He has a bat model zoan fruit that allows him to grow wings, and is a skilled swordsman. He’s retired from the marines but acts a his own separate party that is neither revolutionary, marine, nor pirate, keeping his own fleet known as the Meta-Knights. Their actions are similar to pirates despite not flying a Jolly Roger. They claim territory to protect and occasionally fight other pirate crews, and they claim no allegiance to the world government. They simply go where they are needed. Meta Knight will sometimes sail with Kirby on his small ship, the Popstar, just to keep Kirby out of trouble and make sure the ship is well stocked and well-maintained and able to be seaworthy.

Dedede is the king to one of the small countries that isn’t represented at the Reverie. That means he has a lot more freedom to do his own thing, including setting sail while taking a crew of Dees with him and leaving the country in the hands of some administrative Dees. Dedede splits his time between exploring and sailing and returning home to run his country, with the help of his trusty second in command, Bandanna Dee. Dedede has a penguin model Zoan fruit, and Bandanna doesn’t have any devil fruit but is proficient in coating their spear in haki. They’re the designated save-the-fruit-user-from-drowning person when they’re on deck.

Kirby’s crew changes because a lot of the people he recruits tend to have their own responsibilities. His crew is also full of people he’s beaten. It’s not uncommon for Kirby to sail alone, though he gets into more scrapes than usual with bad weather and rough waves. It can hardly be called a pirate crew, but Kirby has collected all the most heinous criminals under his banner and as such, the world government treats it as a threat.

i'm so endeared by the idea that they exist in the same world and that they're twins who care deeply for each other HBJERBFJHERF.

dol pc1 and 2 are just the same pc, just different genders HJERFBJHERF but their storylines/purpose as pcs are so different i got curious and thought,,, you know it'd be fun to have twins au!

so far what i have is: inseparable and protective twin siblings who have been with each other for years. when they became of age, and bailey started charging them, eros knew it was too dangerous for his sister to work in this town. although he was as sheltered as eri, he was friends with a lot of the older orphans, who wouldn't exactly hide what goes on in the town. since then, he's offered to go work most days of the week to earn both of their keep while eri attends school on his behalf. he'll only attend school every fridays to just pass the exams so he could keep his grades up and graduate. eros is apart of the Temple and is an initiate. eri isn't, she's just a normal schoolkid and although she is a lot more sheltered, she wasn't naive. she could only imagine the kind of danger eros put himself through just to keep them from getting sold by bailey. despite her begging, eros refuses to let her get a job, and insists she focuses on school so she could also teach him for friday exams.

though that does all change when robin can't keep up with his debt payments, and without eros knowing, eri went to look for work as well (and gets up to all sorts of shenanigans with guys) BHERBFBHRF

AAAAH IM SO HAPPY ABT THE MONDSTAT AU!!! I love love loooove your world building and I’d love to see what you do with the Archon war. Honestly you’ve only written two snippets and they’ve already got me hooked. I love the venti shiki parallels with how you have her naming godself(??) after Dec (Idr his full name T~T) just like venti and Barbatos! It neatly covered one of the questions I had from the first snippet and it makes me giddy. Of course, I’m still full of questions like what would Mond look like under Shiki’s care (tho mond would still have the hands off approach they had under shiki, and dance might be added to their roster of things to be know for?) and where is venti?? Does he remain a lil sprite or does he still gain power? Pausing my lore questions to giggle at the idea of shiki at an archon meeting stone faced with wind sprite venti zipping around, they’re both so silly…sigh. Anywho, thank you so so much for your wonderful AUs and also for sharing your amazing writing <3

I don't recall it being mentioned anywhere in-game that the bard who led the rebellion was named 'Venti,' but we do know that the current physical form that Venti takes is modeled after his deceased friend. Venti's character quest was probably one of my favorite character quests in Genshin haha.

In this 'verse, Shiki's name as a god would be 'Balor,' except she later uses the name 'Decarabian,' in memory of the original Decarabian. Playing around with the idea that the human-name she eventually uses is 'Silke.' (Frisian diminutive form of 'Cecilia,' and German diminutive of 'Celia,' 'heavenly.' Plus, if you squint at it there's a vague resemblance to 'Shiki'.....?)

Hey, if Shiki and Venti become friends, then Mondstadt gets dancing AND music/singing. Perfect for festivals!

There are a lot of ways things could go in this AU haha. Something else that might also be interesting to play around with -forbidden knowledge. We know that the forbidden knowledge in the game is defined as 'information/power that originates from outside of Teyvat.' So... Shiki's eyes and her abilities... what would they be defined as under Celestia's purview?

Rhysand and Tamlin have been together for a few months, but now he faces a new challenge: trying to convince his friends that Tamlin is cool.

This was a bad idea. Rhys had known it was a bad idea the second he had suggested it, but by then it was too late. No force on earth could put the words back in his mouth after they had been uttered.

“I’m having a movie night with some friends this weekend. Wanna come?”

Of course Tamlin had said yes. They had been dating for a few months now, and Rhys had already met Tamlin’s roommates multiple times. Just this past weekend, he had gone out for drinks with Tamlin, Andras, and Lucien. He had beat all three of them at pool, which seemed to grant him a high status among Tamlin’s friends. Tamlin had not met any of Rhys’s friends yet, and was eager to cross that milestone in their relationship.

“You will be nice, no matter what,” Rhys said for the hundredth time.

“What if he’s a dick?” Cassian countered.

“He won’t be. But if he is, you still have to be nice.” 

“What if he asks for money? Or tries to get us to buy a CD? Or brings out his guitar and makes everything weird?”

Rhys groaned, turning to Azriel. “He’s not going to do any of that. He’s a regular person.”

“He’s Guitar Guy. That’s the only thing I know about him. It’s very concerning.” Azriel’s deadpan was not as amusing now as it usually was.

“That’s totally something a guitar guy would do,” Cassian added. “We have to make sure he’s not weird.”

“He’s not weird!” 

“You guys stop, you’re scaring him.” Mor’s smile was deceptively sweet, which Rhys didn’t trust at all. “I am curious about his thoughts on your guys’ relationship. Is this like, a hook up? Or ‘married with kids’ thing?”

“Absolutely not. Do not say anything like that to him.” Rhys turned to Amren, who was sprawled on the couch playing on her phone. “And whatever crazy shit you’re planning—”

“Asking him to be a guest on my podcast.”

“—No! None of that!” The doorbell rang, forestalling any further lecturing. “Everybody, just be normal. And nice.”

“We’re always normal and nice!” Cassian protested. Rhys shot him a glare before he opened the front door. Tamlin was standing there, looking adorable and nervous. Praying to every god that had ever existed that his friends wouldn’t ruin this, Rhys stepped aside to allow him in.
