Really liking leverage so far but I gotta say it’s got a weird take on cops. Eliot ‘I don’t hit cops’ why not? Since when? What? And everyone’s passion in the Ice Man Job and the Three Strikes Job for needing to help ‘a good honest cop’ is very strange. They act like what happens to the victims in these cases is somehow beyond the pale because they’re cops. Why do they revere cops so much? They’re literally criminals? Nate I kinda get since he has a weird relationship to the fact that he’s a criminal. but everyone else? What?
I may have already sent you one (sorry if I did) but 👉👈
Trick or Treat? :3
HELLO I LOVE YOU
may i offer you, a tiny little sneak peak of a scene that will come much later in "All i am" ? it's still subject to change because idk how much editing i'll do to it when i get closer to posting it, but.
sometimes there's conflict between a special agent and a man who was born to be a criminal

“The institution you’ve sold your life to is far more corrupt than I ever have been or ever will be. Do you know how much of what’s seized during busts never makes it into the evidence lockers? Do you know how many people have been abused and killed by this system? The people you put away, do you ever think about what happens to them after?”
“I’m trying to do the right thing,” Chay says. There’s fight in his voice, still, despite how quietly his words are spoken.
“...I know,” Kim sighs, “But, Bambi, there’s no ‘right thing’ in this system. No one’s hands are clean. The people at the top? They’re the most dangerous of all, they’re the ones with the most blood on their hands. And they don’t care about people like me and you, and they don’t care about our crusades or our vendettas or the injustices we've suffered or any of the people we’ve lost. They don’t care about you, and they never will, no matter how much you do for them or how many criminals you put behind bars.”
so many american schools have police officers on duty for bullshit reasons, including mine. my sociology class was presenting different forms of incarceration and their pros/cons in front of an sro. to give a bit of context, there's a large Hispanic population where i live, so about 30-40% of us are a racial minority.
because the us loves incarcerating minorites, a lot of people have a bad experience with the justice system, to say the least. so having a cop watch your every move while you present about how the current justice system is horrible is... not fun.
after that was over, the cop came up to share his thoughts, and immediately said "I love mass incarceration :) my ideal world is for every criminal to be put in one place together. when i was in the inner city and i stopped someone, they would run for some reason" (quoting verbatim)
like... the fuck?
the reason my uncle is dead is because of mass incarceration. the reason my great uncle couldn't be a father to his kids is because of mass incarceration. and that's my white ass.
and the crazy thing is that he's black! slavery in the us still exists because of mass incarceration!
obviously our experiences are gonna be different, but come on.
haha hey remember that time in timeforce that was centered around this mutant that was in jail for stealing food because if he didn't he'd starve to death and he actively wanted to go back to jail because people kept tryna kill him and he was relatively safer there and he also cheered as he was sent back?
something about the police not even coming out to the house when my car was broken into the other night and there was glass shattered all over the road and I had so much shit stolen...
all of my stuff for work was stolen off the seat. they took the fucking registration paperwork for the car itself. they took my wallet with my social security card in it.
this is going to completely fuck me over for years, and what do the cops do?
On the one hand I’m not a huge fan of breaking bad/better call saul for personal, value-neutral “it’s just not my cup of tea” reasons,
But on the other it is pretty impressive they made the most sympathetic character in the whole goddamn show a meth addict over the cop who literally dies “in the line of duty”
had a dream i got into a car chase with the police but when they caught me instead of taking me to jail or something the officer just forcibly removed two more of my teeth
Hey remember when the Pinker-"famous for busting unions and taking children away from families for 「neglect」 due to the parents not being paid enough because they couldn't form unions"-tons tried to sue Rockstar games because RDR2?
My mom got into a car wreck this morning (she’s okay) but the first thing she did when the cop said she wasn’t under arrest (because I asked if I could take her home) was for her to say “why not? I like handcuffs”
Like look, a violent man who believes his violence is justified via "righteousness" and a binary sense of justice who's enabled and coddled by the system that both upholds him and he upholds even tho that system is corrupted and works not to protect the most vulnerable the the property of the ruling class and government and refuses and/or is unable to see the oppression surrounding him that directly effects others but has no effect on him so he never has to question the status quo, his place in it, or his justification of violence?
so.. our county sheriff got in trouble and resigned bc he was caught saying racist shit about black people (and i think other stuff but yeah big one is the racism) but he still ran for county sheriff yet again for the midterms..
