thinking about how, in the end, andrew still wasn't strong enough to protect himself from drake. he benched all those weights. he carried knives. he made himself cold and unapproachable. he made himself a weapon. but in the end, he was still overpowered. i cannot imagine how much that fucked with his recovery.

Yandere! Rich suitor idea
Hear me out-
The rich suitor that your parents have in mind for you to marry once you turn 30, the guy who's parents your parents are best friends and how they've been imagining their offspring getting married for decades! And how you absolutely can't stand your unofficial fiance!
Of course, he couldn't stand you either. All your lives grown up together with both your parents insinuating that you two will carry on their names. Each year you two would be sent off to some exotic vacation (your parents loosely supervising) and each year you both failed to hold a conversation without fighting. The pressure was always too much for you, you hated the idea of being tied down to some guy only your parents liked. And no matter how beautiful the boy was, he simply wasn't your type. He was too pretty, too spoiled, too prissy with his blonde hair tied in a ponytail and his stupid eyebrow piercing that made no sense considering his personality.
The guy you were supposed to marry felt the same, he couldn't understand what his parents saw in you. You were too wild, he couldn't imagine trying to carry on a family with how you barely even wanted to do school work. He didn't even consider ugly just so... Weird! With your weird, odd sense of fashion and refusal to think about your future , you were definitely not his type. You two hated each other.
Until the summer you two turned 21. The yearly vacation y'all took started off like any other. With both you dreading the sight of each other. But that changed very quickly once he saw you. This was the first year you two were alone, and maybe it was the fresh alcohol in your systems or the soft lights in whatever high class restaurant you were in, something clicked in your suitor's brain.
Turns out a year (or a couple) can really change the way you see someone. Whether he knew or not he started to admire the way you refused to comply with the strict set of rules set by the high class society you two lived in, and how you didn't care what anyone else thought of your peculiar way of self expression. It was admirable he had to admit.
And the night you two shared an accidental drunken kiss, it made the hair on his arms stand up, it made his face flush red(which he blamed on the liquor), and it made his heart pound in a way he never thought possible.
Every bone chilling reaction was forced out of him and it made his skin light on fire. After that night, he only wanted more to come out of your relationship.
But, the attraction was simply one sided.
You still only saw the same prissy boy. He still refused to look at things from more than one perspective, he still poked fun at your style of clothes, he still refused to say thank you to whatever person who was serving him!
He was everything you hated all wrapped up in one ball of a man.
And when he dropped the idea of getting married the next morning while you were still recovering from your hangover, you almost vomited.
-
"Ew! What the fuck are you talking about?!" You yelled while almost dropping the mug you had in your hand. The guy was just insulting you yesterday like he always does and now he's talking about marriage?
"You act as though marrying me is the worst thing possible." Andrew sighed while sipping on a glass of orange juice. He looked out the nearby window onto the private beach of the resort while leaning on the nearby wall. It didn't show but your response clearly hurt him just a bit.
"'Cuz it is." You groaned in frustration while sitting down on the living room couch. The guy you hate proposing is definitely not helping with your pounding headache.
You took a sip out of the mug of coffee and tried to rub away the ache from your temples. Why now of all times to propose? You two had at least 5 more years of freedom before yours and his parents would put their foot down and set a date for you two to sign the wedding papers.
"I mean- why not now? Its be better sooner than later, it would be like ripping off a bandaid-"
"Hell no." You sighed and set down your mug on the coffee table next to you and dropped your head onto a pillow. How were you going to deal with this?
"Anyway," you paused trying to gather your words, "don't you hate me? Why would you want to tie the knot so soon? I mean, you're an attractive guy right? Why don't you try out other options before having to-"
"I don't want other options."
You lifted your head and stared at Andrew for a second. The pink dusting his fair cheeks and avoidance of eye contact was all you needed to know.
You looked away from his face and stared at the wall behind him. Your head hurts even more than when you had woken up.
"I'm leaving."
"What?"
"I said I'm leaving." You hauled yourself off the couch and into your room. You could hear Andrews faint footsteps and even more of his questions but ignored it. You packed your backpack, only the necessities and a small bag of seashells. You were getting on the next plane and heading back home. Or wherever you could land first.
You were not staying here. You refused to marry. Not yet at least.
But as you try and open the door to leave, a large hand slams it shut before you can completely open it.
"Andrew. What the hell are you doing."
"You are not leaving." Andrew says while placing his other hand against the door, caging you.
You never realized how muscular Andrew was before this moment.
"Yes, I am. Now let go of the door-"
"No." He says in a much firmer tone.
It dawns on you that you're on a private beach with no one to hear you yell for help. You see one of his hands leave the door and for a second you think he's come back to his senses and stopped whatever crazy shit he was thinking- but instead he snaked his hand around your waist and lays his forehead on your shoulder.
"You're not leaving."
-
HEHEHEHE JUST A THOUGHT THOOO
Not proof read forgive me 😔

Once the foxes become more comfortable with each other, they begin to nag. Mostly little things, usually humorous things. They nag on Nicky for being too forward sometimes. They nag on Neil for his horrible life habits. They nag on Dan for her mother henning. They nag on Kevin for everything. It's fun, it's what families do. They all just pick on each other for fun.
It takes a little longer for them to feel comfortable nagging Andrew though, which, is understandable, but one of the first things they start picking on him for is his lack of communication in general. He NEVER talks. They just want him to participate sometimes.
Renee and Neil find this funny because Andrew talks A LOT just not around the foxes. He's not comfortable.
See, Andrew is fucking weird. Everyone knows this, but the foxes think he's weird in a “mysterious, murder you in your sleep, was totally the kid everyone thought was going to shoot up the school” kind of weird.
Andrew is not that kind of weird. He's a different breed entirely. He plans out how he'd survive the apocalypse, any of them. He is constantly fighting back the most wild intrusive thoughts. He is 24/7 existential crisis. His head is a wild fucking place.
But he is trying. Making progress. Trying to be more open and approachable, as Bee says. So he talks. Out Loud.
And the foxes hate him.
In the most monotonous voice ever
“Do you ever feel like your bones are dirty? Like, I could totally strip my meat suit and just give my ribs a good bleaching.”
“If that light fell out of the ceiling it would kill at least three of you and seriously injure the rest of us.”
“Nothing is stopping me from buying five ice cream flavors at once, but I'm learning self-control and Bee would be disappointed.”
“Currently having a manic episode. Should I A.) call Bee, tell her I'm not doing too great, and talk about my symptoms and how to best cope? B.) find the nearest mall and spend every dime I have in less than thirty minutes. Or C.) go apeshit and try to fight anyone and everyone who looks at me in a less-than-kind way. Children included.
*stage whisper* there's a secret fourth option but I'm saving it for later ;) (pronounced Semicolon left facing open parentheses. Yes he says this out loud)”
disappears for less than five minutes and comes back with three furrbies and a corndog, one that is obviously not from the mall's food court.
He's so fucking weird. Like, weirder than Neil, and it's awful (so good dude, the foxes eat it up)
And it's not the manic Andrew on meds. It's just Andrew. He's still Andrew. He's still quiet most of the time and he is still grumpy and apathetic, but he's also comfortable enoughto just blurt random shit out and have fun watching everyone figure out how to respond. He's found safety in his new family and he can openly be who he is without fear of judgment or rejection. He's happy in a way he's never felt nor ever thought he'd get to experience. He's just Andrew.

Andrew through the years rarely does press if he can help it. With the occasional interview or mandatory photoshoots not much is known about the pro goalie. So because of the mystery surrounding his life fans love making up stories and narratives based off of little tidbits of information they get.
Andrew is seen with animal hair on his arm band? Fans say he has a pet tiger that he raised from birth to guard his house
A tattoo is seen poking out from under his wrist guards? It’s a bad ass portrait of him killing Kevin Day is a fist fight.
Andrews true fans know they are all jokes but anyone who genuinely thinks he’s super mean just because he doesn’t smile or talk much think they are all true.
Andrew on the other hand would never admit to it but he loves that this is his fan base. He somehow through limited social media interactions amassed a fan base with exactly his sense of humour. Andrew occasionally will let something ominous slip to see what they will come up with. His favourite fact so far is that his so called rivalry with Neil started when Andrew bested Neil in a sward duel in his second year with the foxes. Said duel ending with Andrew slicing off Neil’s arms, they had to be mechanically put back on. That’s the reason Neil began to wear matching wrist bands in order to hide his cyber arms. Neil on the other hand hates this rumour.
Neil: I’m just saying Andrew the times lines don’t even line up!! AND there is no way you would best me in a sward fight!!
Andrew: You’re yelling again cyber junkie

Imelda Reyes: Oh, I am going to beat her time by a LANDSLIDE just because she said that to me. (rivals to lovers fr)
Lodgok: Oh he seems really nice for helping us but should I be suspicious of his connections to Ranrok?
Gladwin Moon: Saw this guy earlier and he was acting weird. And now I figure out it's because of some statues. Can this school get any weirder?

My Personal Fox Rankings
I saw @yourleftpinkytoe-blog do this and thought I'd give it a go! These are just my personal rankings and obviously I'd love to talk about why or hear about anyone else's.
Kevin Day (I relate to his mental health struggles and his need for perfection, he's giving gifted kid syndrome, autistic af)
Andrew Minyard (Devoted to his family, enforces his boundaries, relate to his mental health struggles, killing for his brother)
Neil Josten (Most of my love for him is because of his love for other characters, his loyalty and protectiveness over the family he found in the Foxes and his absolute devotion to respecting Andrew's boundaries)
David Wymack ("It's about second chances, Neil. Second, third, fourth, whatever, as long as you get at least one more than what anyone else wanted to give you." I think that covers all my reasoning)
Seth Gordon (We don't get to learn as much about him as the others but Seth hit me a lot harder than I've seen most people feel. He wanted to prove himself, he wanted to be better, he wanted to win. He's the what if. The almost. Every kid who couldn't be saved, Who gave up or was given up on a minute too soon. He was almost there. And then he was gone.)
Aaron Minyard (I have a weak spot for sibling relationships, killing for his brother, the urge to protect your siblings and to stay by your siblings side and at the same time wanting to prove you can be more or different or better than them, not understanding each other completely but knowing you stand and fall together always.)
Matt Boyd (100% projected every urge I've ever had to have a big brother onto him. The way he's always there on the Court to physically protect his teammates, he's big and strong and powerful, but off the Court he is kind and caring and gentle. He loves the Foxes and he has their backs. His relationship with Neil was everything.)
Nicky Hemmick (I loved his blatant and unavoidable queerness, for a character who has canonically been shammed and abused for his sexuality and coming from a world myself where I don't feel safe or brave enough to be unapologetically queer it's so beautiful to read. He took in the twins, he never gave up on them, never walked away. The twins weren't easy, not before the story started and not when we get to arrive in it, but he loves his family and he wants them to have better than he did, and that means something.)
Dan Wilds (Oh Captain my Captain. Dan is an amazing leader and my love for her comes from her devotion to her team. She is tough and she worked her ass off for the role she has, she's more than earned her share of respect. She believes in her team even after years of failing and bullshit.)
Betsy Dobson (The therapist we all dream of having. If Andrew could trust her I can't imagine anyone couldn't with enough time. She is a safe space and a constant, and clearly has patience for days with the twinyards as her clients. The fact that she provides hot chocolate is 100% a huge plus for me.)
Abby Winfield (Always there for the Foxes, whether that's patching them up, giving them a roof to sleep under, or cooking warm meals. She's a safe adult like Bee and Wymack and they are so very important and precious.)
Allison Reynolds (I love Allison, her being this low is NOT Allison hate, I simply did not connect with her as much as other characters, she is still dear to me, all of the Foxes are. She is devoted to the Foxes and found them somewhere safe to run off to and have some fun after shit went down. and even when the worst possible thing happens and she loses the man she loves she comes back ready to fight because she knows it's what he would've wanted.)
Renee Walker (Once again NOT Renee hate, all of those Foxes are dear to me. I had trouble with her "religious angel girl" attitude in a similar way to Neil, I just couldn't trust it. Renee is an amazing force within the Foxes, the bridge before Neil arrived, providing Andrew with an outlet and a friend, protecting the upperclassmen Foxes. I admire her for pulling herself out of darkness, even if I can't connect to the religious aspect, and I admire that she acknowledges and respects her old life, not burying it but not letting it control her future or her present day.

Note
this is meant lighthearted : instead of “all men are trash, women do no wrong” a secret third thing “PEOPLE suck in general”
as someone who grew up with an absent father who tried to make life difficult for my mother once she took him to court for child support for me and my siblings - ing…I grew up with a not nice view of older men BUT my grandpa was a big big influence in not making men a negative experience for us.
the recent shift of the last 4-5 years has been worrying. I used to liked jkr and could emphasize where she was coming from originally. but it was scary to see the gradual descent into where she is now and the stuff she is saying. Bc she is so far removed from what she originally stood for. It can happen to anyone, I even get worried if I’m on that slope sometimes. This whole situation had me second guessing myself bc I gave gnf time and believed in him. I had a moment when a few female creators made remarks (not from mc community) and I checked myself bc I was scared I was falling into the conservative rhetoric to blame women and protect men. Then I saw others who had more information and actually looked into it and also found this blog where the nuances were being discussed and let out a breath of relief that I was just using my critical thinking skills lmao
There are so many men out there who just aren’t given a chance bc society is set up for them to fall into a certain role. And I think a lot of men are trying to break that role and stereotypes. I became a dream fan bc I saw him doing this, saw a gamerboy in 2020 who was passionate and excelled at the game but didn’t fall into the toxicity of the space, actively fought against it.
and women should not be encouraged to drag men through hell bc they feel empowered by the rhetoric of recent years. women can and are just as selfish and shitty people as men. Sometimes they are worse
we’ve gone so far off center, we’ve essentially gone from one extreme to another. Which I learned two years ago was called terfs 😂 the movement needs to go back to its previous meaning. Feminism is not solely female empowerment it is the deconstructing of the patriarchal roles and belief that push men and women into boxes. Feminism, as I was taught over a decade ago, was the fight for women and MEN to be equal and have the same rights and opportunities. We can uplift women without putting down men. if this feminist movement doesn’t correct itself, it will allow more men like andrew tate to grow and influence young men.
The lack of female representation in the sphere cannot be corrected by women. It just can’t. Men need to be part of the change bc if the environment is not corrected, women cannot succeed and thrive. They can become successful but the hate and obstacles directed towards them is crazy. This is in general not just for streaming.
It can’t just be women solidarity, men need to learn and actively engage in calling out misogynist behavior. Women need to talk with their males friends and call them out when they say or act in disgusting ways. Women need to hold women accountable as well! It is unfair and unattainable to put female equality solely in the hands of women. We need to All work together.
Puffy is so good at this when she streams, especially on the smp. Hell, she even created a whole villain arc to call out the people telling her to “be a therapist to Tommy, omg your like dreams mom”. Puffy is awesome 🥹
men =/ bad
women =/ good
PREACH ANON
this breaks it all down so well and i really sympathize with you about having a poor view of some men in your life and trying to not let that influence your views but also not go so far off the other end that you end up blindly defending them without critical thinking.
Really important discussions and introspection about how your thought processes work that I think everyone should have at least once when situations like this come up

The team is forced back to the BAU but Hotch isn't worried about it. As soon as he steps foot into the bullpen, Penelope comes rushing down the stairs to greet them.
"I've logged into police dispatch for the area you've isolated. If anything's reported, we'll know when they know," Penelope says.
"Wait, are we staying on the case?" Emily asks.
"We all know that these unsubs are gonna react to last night's riot. Andrews is a good cop. He's just too emotional right now. If we don't stay on, with or without his permission, he and all the rest of us will regret it."
This pisses Emily and Derek off. Emily holds herself back from saying anything but decides it's better if she does.
"Let me try to understand here. You're going to ignore their request but you're not even going to help Y/N?" Hotch sighs because he knew this was coming. "If you should be ignoring anyone, it should be the officers assigned to Y/N's case."
"She's right, Hotch. Why are you pretending like what happened to Y/N didn't happen?"
Spencer locks eyes with Hotch, and he can see how much Spencer is hurting.
"Strauss called me and threatened my job and anyone's job who decided to work on the case. I am doing everything I can privately to help Y/N, but if everyone gets fired, then no one can help her. Trust me, I'd love to go down to that prison and fight everyone to get her back. I hate it, but she is going to have to wait."
Hotch walks away after that and Rossi addresses the team.
"He has a point. You all know Y/N would have said to work the active case."
"Yeah, I know," Derek sighs.
Spencer has tears in his eyes because he knows if they could talk to you, you'd tell them to help other people before you. When are you going to let someone help you first? When are you going to put yourself before everyone else? The team walks to the briefing room to continue working on the case since they have all the details and files about it.
"I talked to the beat cops. They're getting the word out to local businesses to keep an eye out for anyone who seems agitated by the news of last night's riot," JJ informs.
"By now, Andrews has to know that none of those kids are the unsubs."
"Then he's bound to beef up police presence in the Southeast. We should be there, too. The faster we can react, the more we can help," Hotch says.
"Do you think the unsubs know about the riot?"
"It's on the front page. I don't know how they can't."
"What if the profile is right?"
"Their reaction's gonna be quick and it's gonna be brutal. Basically, it's like knowing that lightning is gonna strike but not being able to pinpoint where."
Much like Hotch predicted, there is another murder because of what was featured in the news. Hotch sends over his team to investigate whether Andrews wants it or not.
"What are you doing here?" Andrews asks.
"Detective, we can argue about this later. Right now, you have a crime scene and we're here to help."
Andrews must realize he is in over his head because he nods once and allows them to enter the bar of the newest crime scene. There is someone who is nailed to the bar counter and someone else who is beaten on the ground.
"They nailed the bartender's hands to the bar first. The other bastard got off easier. They just plain beat him."
"I'm getting real sick of us being right and it just not mattering," Derek mutters.
"This is weird. The unsubs are extremely physical. They beat their victims mercilessly with blunt objects. Why aren't these nails pounded in?"
"They probably used a nail gun. With all the gentrification and turnover in housing In the neighborhood, what's a common sight these days?"
"Builders, contractors, and construction workers."
"Wait a minute, killing four people in that first home invasion never made sense to me. Unsubs build to something like that. What if this wasn't their first murder? The first two rounds of vandalism were typical, but that last case right before the home invasion, was a random construction site. A single-family townhouse. Prentiss, you flagged it yourself."
"Yeah." She takes out her phone to call Penelope. "Hey, Garcia. I need the address of that townhouse that was vandalized."
Only Emily and Derek go to the townhouse that is now owned by a nice couple who are looking to start a family. This isn't going to be an easy talk to have with them, and Derek hopes they will be cooperative with them. When the nice couple answers the door, Derek quickly gives them a rundown of their presence.
"I don't understand how we can help."
"Sir, we believe that whoever vandalized your house is responsible for the murders in the area."
"Oh, I know. We've read the papers, but that's not something we're gonna think about right now."
"We also think it's possible that your home was vandalized for a reason."
"What do you mean?" the man's wife asks.
"May we come inside?"
"Sure."
"Thank you."
"We believe there may have been another murder before the first one the police became aware of," Emily explains as the front door closes.
"You think there might be a body hidden here on our property?"
The woman's hand goes to her stomach as a way to protect her unborn baby.
"It's possible. At the very least, the men we're looking for may have worked here. Were there any issues with workers during construction?"
"No, nothing."
"Did anyone appear overly confrontational? I understand people come and go during construction, but was there anyone at all that you may have noticed suddenly wasn't around?"
"Oh, God. After the vandalism, we called this contractor to oversee the repairs. He never called us back. They smashed every room except for the nursery. They didn't touch that one."
"May we see it?"
The young couple escorts Derek and Emily to the back room where the nursery is. The walls are blue and pink with storks painted on, fairy lights above the crib, and just a beautiful room for a newborn baby. There is a short wall protruding from the main wall that doesn't look like it belonged in the original design. Derek touches the wall and knocks twice to confirm that it's hollow.
"This wall is structural," Derek says to Emily before turning to the couple. "I wouldn't ask you this unless I felt it was incredibly important. I need to open up this wall."
"No," the woman shakes her head.
"We can't live here not know," her husband says.
"Ma'am, I promise you, even if I have to do every bit of the work myself, this wall will be repaired. It'll go right back to being exactly what you want. Please?"
"Okay," she nods.
Emily calls in a crew to open the wall, and what they find inside is shocking to the young couple. There is a dead body wrapped in plastic wrap stuffed into the wall. Emily takes out her phone to call someone.
"This is Agent Emily Prentiss with the FBI. I need a CSI unit right away.
"I can't be here," the woman shudders.
"Let's move over here." Derek moves the couple away from the wall. "Is there someplace the two of you can stay?"
"Yes, we have friends I can call."
"After you give the police a statement, they can take you to your friend's house."
"Thank you."
As soon as the police and the CSI unit arrive, the young couple is taken downstairs for a statement.
"Do you think they'll be okay?" Derek asks Emily.
"I don't know. I mean, you redo your dream home, about to start a new chapter of your life, and then this? How did you know?"
"The other crime scenes were brutal but it had control. They took their time. That type of MO had to start before the home invasions. This entire place was destroyed except this room. Why?"
"Because they took the time to rebuild the wall once they buried the contractor."
"Exactly. If they smashed this place up, he could have been discovered."
"Still. A body inside the wall?"
"It's like a builder's tradition. You leave a little something behind to send a message to the people who may do work down the road. Like the front page of a newspaper or a photo of the construction crew. It's like a time capsule."
"Okay, so what would you need to rebuild this wall? Drywall, brickwork, and electrical?"
"I'll call Garcia." He pulls out his phone and calls her. "Hey, girl."
"Hey, what do you need?"
"Pull up the address of the townhouse that was vandalized. Give me work permits for the contractor."
"That would be James Morris. Is he our unsub?"
"No, actually, I'm afraid he's our first victim. Does it list Morris' subcontractors?"
"Yes, it does."
"Okay, I need all the names and addresses of whoever was hired to do the electrical, brickwork, and drywall."
"That would be three names, one address. 5058 B Street near Anacostia. I'm sending you it now."
"Thanks, babe." Derek hangs up. "We were right. They're a pack."
Emily informs Hotch who meets up with Derek and Emily at the unsubs' house. They have to be prepared for everything, so they bring in all the big guns. These guys love violence, so they're not going to go down easy. Hotch and Derek are the first ones in the house, but there is only one of them inside. He gets up to flee but Hotch grabs him so he can't go anywhere. The rest of the team filters through the house but the other two unsubs are not there.
"Where are the other two?" Hotch asks.
"You're kidding me, right?"
"Aaron."
Hotch turns to Rossi who shows him what's playing on the TV. It's footage of the murders they've done.
"You like that, sir? I got more," the man smirks.
"Where are the others?"
"Go to Hell."
There is a car out front that Emily can use to track whoever owns it. She has Penelope on the line to give her the license plate number.
"Garcia, I need vehicle information on all the residents. D.C. plate 7-4-Delta-Alpha-4. I also need to know if they're registered on any jobs right now."
Detective Andrews also has his men putting an APB out on whoever owns the vehicle and gets a hit.
"I got a visual on the station wagon just south of 8th, heading toward Half Street in Southeast."
"That's right next to their current work site."
"Deploy tactical units to 922 Half Street in Southeast," Andrews orders.
"We got them!" Emily calls to her team inside the house.
"Morgan, forget him. He's nothing. Let's go."
The other two unsubs are the unfinished housing project they are contracted to work on, and they know the second they hear sirens that they aren't getting out of this. They think they're bigger than what they are and started something they knew they couldn't finish. It ended with both of them dead, their bodies riddled with bullets from the police.
Case closed but not for you.
After you were finished with the long interrogation, they moved you to the other side of the prison where you were given your cell number. You're sharing this cell with three other women with your lawyer's words ringing in your head.
They're denying you bail. You will be put in jail awaiting your trial.
You won't even get to see Spencer but maybe this is for the best. Why give him hope only for that to be taken away when you're convicted of these crimes? You have faith in Steve but what can he do when all the evidence points to you? The only thing that can save you is if the person who actually did it gets caught and admits it.
Every cell you pass by is enough to send you into a fit of tears. The trauma and fear of each woman weigh heavily on your shoulders as if their trauma is your own. You stop outside of your cell and wait for the door to open. The three women inside look at their new roommate. The woman occupying the bottom left bunk doesn't look friendly at all. She looks like she could kill you if you look at her wrong. Maybe you won't engage in conversation with her. The woman on the top left bunk is quiet with her head down so she isn't looking at you. You feel waves of anger roll off her but it's controlled anger. She might not have good intentions, so you'll make sure to be extra nice to her. The woman on the bottom right bunk is the friendliest of the bunch. Well, you feel like she is. She's really sad and shy but maybe you can help her out of her shell. If you had to choose one to be friends with, it'd be her.
Well, this is your life now. May as well make lemonade with what you got.

Frank walks into his home where Clarissa is waiting for him. She jumps into his arms and kisses his face with a huge smile.
"I've missed you," she grins.
"Okay, get off me."
She gets off him and clears her throat, smiling to pretend like that didn't happen. Rob comes walking out of the kitchen with a bloodstain on his shirt. Frank sighs in frustration and points to the mark.
"Really? You couldn't have kept it clean?"
"Don't give me that shit. Be thankful I'm even here at all. Some kids you got. Obedient as hell."
"Isn't that what we want?"
"You know I like the backtalkers," Rob smirks. "I left the stuff in your room. I gotta go. Itchy hands."
Frank rolls his eyes as his friend leaves. He turns to his wife who smiles innocently. Innocent. She's far from it. She's in this just as deep as Frank is.
"Where are the kids?"
"Chores."
Frank hums as he passes by his wife to get to their bedroom. On the bed is a black duffel bag with the stuff he asked Rob to get him. Frank hasn't been home nearly ten minutes and he's already itching to get out again. He yanks off his tie and throws it on the bed before ripping open the bag. Inside are all kinds of weapons from small guns to big guns and knives. Frank grabs one of the biggest guns inside the bag and takes out the magazine to check the bullets. He can't remember the name of the gun but Rob says it's one of his bests.
"What are you going to do with those? I promise the kids behaved while you were gone."
"I don't care about the damn kids right now, Clarissa."
"How did it go with Y/N?"
"I made sure that bitch stays in jail. I didn't kill those seven men for her to walk. Don't worry. She's taken care of."
"But she's my--"
"I don't care what she is to you!" Frank yells, and Clarissa flinches at his tone. "I'm sorry, baby, I'm just having a hard time."
"I know. It's okay."
"With Y/N out of the picture, I can focus all my attention on her bitch boyfriend, Spencer. I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch for taking her away from me," Frank says and cocks his gun.
"These violent delights have violent ends." - William Shakespeare

im not the other anon but ig when compared to other characters kevin can come off as a coward. and i do think "Kevin is a coward" and "it's completely normal for kevin to be afraid of riko" can exist at the same time.
but when pitted against neil for example. i can see see how kevin might seem that way. neil does run away from his father, but ultimately, he only really does that while under the control of his mother. Neil explicitly doesn't want to keep running. and stops very soon after his mom is dead and she can no longer force him to. and the decision does frighten him, I mean he has panic attacks about it, but he keeps doing it despite that. he plans to stay even before Andrew offers him protection, so he doesn't need that crutch like kevin does.
neil also isn't afraid of riko, even when he should be or when he's literally torturing him. he's not afraid of tetsuji either. or even really ichirou. even scenes with his father and lola, I mean he says lola looks like a whore to her face when she's about to torture him 💀 he says "fuck you" to his father when he threatens to cut the tendons in his legs. and he does try and fight Nathan and the others like he punches lola in the throat 😭 I'm just kinda listing of neils actions, but hopefully it makes sense? like I'm not saying neil is always unaffected or unafraid cause its not true, but he has more bravery than I think most ppl do cuz i know I wouldn't be cursing out these ppl if I was face to face with them.
and when we see compare Kevin's behavior to that a lot of it can come off as cowardice.
I think the real problem is seeing coward as a bad thing to be. which maybe sometimes it is. but it seems odd for the fandom to say "oh it's okay to be afraid" and then act like it's an insult to call Kevin a coward. its not bad if he is one. it's just a personality trait, it doesn't make him a bad person. I don't think anyone who calls Kevin a coward is attempting to make some moral judgement of his character, they're just noting a personality trait they observed in him.
Ok the problem is that a lot of people who call Kevin a cowerd ARE making moral judgements of his character; Kevin is rightfully afraid of riko and a literal Yakuza; he grows up in the nest where Neil spent two weeks and as further more traumatized; a lot of people don't take that into Consideration . Kevin not spouting up insults like Neil is not cowardance. he can keep his temper in check; neil is being hypocritical too cause like as u said his mom abused him yet he loves her ; and Kevin grew up with riko and still sees him as a brother figure; that's normal not to mention Neil is afraid of his father and think Kevin is coward. for Kevin his fear is riko. I think it all depends on what you think bravery is; Neil can't keep his temper in check and all his roasts and "bravery" has had awful consequences a lot of times. if Kevin was really coward he wouldn't tell Neil to run away while in the middle of season once he found out his identity knowing game would be at risk; he still offered to talk to Neil about riko when he's rightfully terrified and had a panic attack after seeing him. He never gave up on exy learned to play with his other hand and in the end he manages to stand up to riko; and beats him. It just pisses me off when Kevin's characters good traits are all ignored in favor of him being labeled as a spinless coward ; when that's not the case. Bravery is not only shit talking or knife swinging to me. And I hate the world coward generally; he's traumatized just as much as the other foxes and other than his rightful fear of riko and actual Yakuza he's not a coward and in the end he does stand up to him/them so he's not even a coward anymore. It shouldn't be such a large part of Kevin's description in the end at least ; by that logic jean is also a coward? And I've never seen someone call him that badly over the years.🤷

hello tumblr i have just finished reading The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White and i need to scream my thoughts about it into the void
spoiler warning for the entirety of this book, i want to tell you to read it blind but i should ALSO tell you to read the content warnings because yeah, this book is dark and it pulls no punches in depicting horrible shit (this is not a criticism. i love it, but not everyone will and i understand that)
OK RIGHT OFF THE BAT i love Silas as a character so much, as an autistic person i think this is the most seen/understood i have ever felt reading about another autistic person in fiction.
i love you Daphne I was so ready to hate her when she was introduced and then the second she came out to Silas she stole my heart, i'm not trans but that scene almost made me cry.
i would kill for the groundskeeper i hope he knows that, never said a word but he might be one of my favorite characters in the book. wherever he is i hope he's doing well.
i desperately want to know more about the Braxton's girls. what were their lives like before the book, did they have families, did they miss them, did they try to fight back against the horrors they faced there only to become numb to them. what about the girls who managed to leave, what happened to them, what is happening to them.
i love Mary and Frances, but i'm never going to recover from the emotional damage they did to me. i KNEW there was something between them when Mary was introduced but then the scene in the basement happened and i sobbed uncontrollably. i will NEVER get over Frances haunting Mary's ring and Mary calling Frances her wife in the epilogue.
what the HELL happened to Charlotte. we know she's in Braxton's for being a feminist, what kind of hell did they put her through for her to become the way she is in the book?
Harriet Johnston. holy fucking shit, Harriet Johnston. everything about her scene fucking broke me. i can't even ask what she did to deserve that because nothing she could have done would warrant that.
the bathroom scene. anyone who has read the book knows what i'm talking about. Isabella i am so sorry. the fact that Silas was able to save her, that she WOULD HAVE SURVIVED had Headmaster not caught her. the tragedy that she died so close to the climax, that she was so close to surviving and escaping but that the climax also would have never happened if she did survive. she was dead no matter what, and she deserved so much better.
Mrs Forrester is such an interesting character to me. she's just as much a victim of the system as she is a perpetrator of it, and in a weird way i love the fact that she isn't redeemed by the end. also how poetic and tragic is it that the first student of Braxton's dies with it?
George sucks, he can fuck off and die for all i care. over and over he was given the choice to do the right thing and every time decided not to because it would have made HIS life harder. Elsie deserves a better husband, Silas deserves a better brother. he's not even the worst character morally, but i can't even say that i hate his guts because he has no guts for me to hate at all.
i am fully prepared to ramble more about this book when i can form coherent thoughts, i am trying but my brain is still spinning at light speeds and the words are not coming out right. i am so normal about this book

Ashley with a clingy, eager to please childhood friend reader? Like, very sweet and a little dumb, but ride-or-die and absolutely down to bury a body for her.
Reader also Actively Dislikes Andrew. Like, they tolerate his presence, but they’re always a bit jealous when Ashley’s paying attention to him, and probably tried to fight him at least once over it when they were little.
I guess I just want to see Ashley with a reader who’s low-key a slightly yandere pet lol
notes from coff-in: this was very wholesome for me to write, i enjoyed it quite a lot! i'd be a yandere pet for the graves siblings (or for julia too) any day. also did you know that tcoaal actually takes place in a fictional part of northern europe? i found that out yesterday and my mind was kinda blown ngl. sorry for the random topic change, thank you for requesting and i hope you like it!
[gender neutral] reader-insert
Leyley was very suspicious of [reader] when they first met. No one would talk to her unless they were trying to get Andy and like hell she would let anyone take him away from her! Leyley would be very hostile to [reader] because of this.
[reader] could give Leyley their crayons in class or offer to do her homework (which only happened once since Leyley soon found out that [reader] wasn’t the brightest bulb in the closet) and she would still feel insecure about their “friendship”.
When [reader] and Andy met, Leyley was surprised that [reader] seemed disinterested in him. She wasn’t really sure if she liked it either… it’s wonderful that [reader] wanted her attention on them instead but Leyley wasn’t just going to give up Andy, you know? She caught them fighting each other one time and broke it up real fast. She pulled [reader] away from Andy and stared them down as she told them: “You like me more than you hate him, right? You should be focusing on ME. You want to make me happy? Don’t fight with Andy.”
After the fight [reader] and Andy were on… okay terms. Leyley enjoyed [reader]’s company! They even helped Andy celebrate her birthday! Andy was happy that Leyley was able to make a friend, even if her friend didn’t like him all that much.
Once the Graves got locked into quarantine, [reader] was probably trying their best to either break them out or break in to join them, hehe! They would buy them food (well, they bought it for Ashley but they guess Andrew could have some, too) and sneak towards their balcony. They’d climb the drain chute next to the Graves’ balcony and leave food there.
Ashley and [reader] would call each other almost every day on the phone and [reader] would tell Ashley how they plan on busting her out of quarantine. One time they got caught by a guard while sneaking in and they fucking threw hands! [reader] had to leave once they saw that the guard had a gun, but at least they had a better idea of what they were dealing with.
I think when Andrew and Ashley killed their cultist neighbor, Ashley would call [reader] and tell them “Come over to the apartment. We’re getting out of here.” They rendezvous outside the apartment and go back to [reader]’s home. Whenever Ashley needs to charge her demonic trinket with souls [reader[ will always head over with Ashley to help bury the bodies :) cause they’re besties
Whenever Andrew and Ashley fight [reader] usually gets on Ashley’s side. She’ll have to collar [reader] and leash them so they don’t just fucking attack random haters (or her brother). I can see them just being totally platonic besties but what if there were some unrequited romance? [reader] being devoted to Ashley, possibly in love with her, but also knowing that they can’t take Andrew’s place as #1 in her life (they don’t know about the incest) and so they happily resign themselves to being Ashley’s #1 friend (or #2 friend).

Aftg x FNAF fic idea.
BACKGROUND
February, 1997- drake spear is (dishonorably) discharged from the marines.
the spear family decides to purchase a local pizza place (the upper middle class family thought it would be a good environment to raise foster kids also it’s a place where Richard can put his robotic prowess to use)
they have had two (foster kids) so far and for some reason none of them stick.
June, 1997- drake moves out of his parents house.
July, 1997- the business takes off under the spears management.
Children love the robots.
October, 1997- a child goes missing at the restaurant.
The police questioned the owners but determined none had anything to do with it.
They were wrong.
March, 1998- 12 year old Andrew Doe was placed in the care of the spears.
Two months later he meets drake (he was busy with the investigation and didn’t want to risk getting caught)
Andrew got quiet after that. (more so than usual)
The next two years are basically the same as canon for Andrew except the existence of Freddy Fazbears.
June, 2000- four children go missing at the pizzeria.
Drake tries to make Andrew watch the last one.
Andrew fights back(for the first time)
He couldn’t care less about himself but he draws the line at watching drake hurt other kids.
June, 2000- the Andrew Doe became the fifth victim of the 2000 missing children’s incident.
None of the children’s bodies are found.
Backtrack to two years earlier.
The business is loosing patronage because of the first murder.
Nathan Wesninskie, mob boss and serial killer, Nathan sees the goings down and decides to invest in the company to keep it going.
{Idk his reasoning but bare with me here}
Back in July, 2000- Nathan sends Lola and the newly caught Alex Nathaniel to clean up drakes mess.
Dead kids is not something Nathan wants to publicly be associated with.
Nathaniel tries to run.
Andrew gains a friend.
They are two enraged and vengeful souls stuck in the same vessel.(golden Freddy)
The actual story
Aarons pov. October 2000
He’s alone.
His mom is distant and neglectful.
But she’s never hurt him.(in canon she doesn’t start hurting him till after he contacts Andrew)
She’s high a lot.
She had a date with some guy and she lets him come with her. It’s at an exy game.
He likes exy.
This stranger keeps calling him Andrew and asking where he’s been.
He’s a police officer .
He has had a twin.
He steals his mom’s pills to ease the ache of what could have been.
He hates his mom for giving Andrew away. He hates the spears for letting Andrew out of their sight, he hates Officer Huggins for telling him about Andrew, most of all he hates himself for not being able to do anything to help Andrew.
His mom takes one too many pills when he’s 16, he doesn’t cry at her funeral.
He’s lucky Nicky cares.
They greave the “what if” together.
He’s 20, with a scholarship at palmetto university. He plays exy with Nicky.
He likes exy
He wonders if Andrew would have liked exy.
He’s been sober for years.
He and Matt really helped each other with their sobriety.
Kate also helps.
Every year on the date of his brothers disappearance he goes to the memorial. (There are no grave for a missing nobody, a Doe)
The spears knew but they didn’t want to think about it.
If they pretend Andrew never existed, then it never really happened, right.
Someone else is at the memorial.
Hes never really believed the spears were entirely innocent
the lady tells him about Freddy fazbears
She looks like a broken woman
(She lost her son)
Something doesn’t feel right
Over summer break he gets a job as a nighttime security guard.
His family comes with him for moral support (the foxes)
He is going to find out what happened to his brother.
And Andrew is going to fucking kill anyone who tries to hurt him or any of the other children.
(In his eyes anyone who is there at night is a threat)
Nothing good had ever happened when someone comes near him at night.
Then stuff happens and Aaron eventually finds out what happened to Andrew and he kills drake. In the end Andrew, Neil and the other kids are set free.
The sub plot would involve Andrew and Neil slowly growing to trust each other and the other dead kids forming a bond that starts to heal their mental wounds. Kinda their both still angry and vengeful ghosts who’s only purpose (in their minds) is to protect the other kids)
Andrew died fighting for them and that followed him into death and Neil ran when he saw Andrew’s corpse and although he ran for himself after death he feels unexplainably protective over Andrew.
NOT A ROMANTIC STORY FOR NEIL AND ANDREW. THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS PLATONIC BECAUSE THEY ARE FOURTEEN AND THIRTEEN AND DEAD. (They don’t need romance they need some who will stand unwavering at their side)

I think I’ve been on here long enough, so it’s about time I talk to y’all about my Grand Theory of Masculinity.
Yes that is what I call it.
Foreword: I’m a millennial, I’m about thirty years old and if there’s one thing that genuinely makes me think “god I hate the new generation” it’s all this bullshit Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson shit about how to be a “real man.” I absolutely despise this narrative that being a man is all about only caring about yourself and forcing others down to build yourself up. I see it corrupting more and more young men every day and I truly dread the point in time that it takes hold enough to bring back toxic masculine fathers and grandfathers and RUINS an entirely new generation of kids.
So I decided to sit down and think about why it bothers me so much. I’m of the belief you can’t reasonably say you disagree with something unless you have some kind of reason or alternative solution. Thus, I’ve boiled down what *I* consider to be the true essence of “what makes you a man”
To start off with, I don’t believe that you need a certain set of genitals to be considered a “real man”, which is why I put such an emphasis on the word “masculinity.” I believe that sorting people according to exclusively their genitals or their preferred identity is a bit archaic, but I DO believe you can sort anyone, regardless or pronouns or genitalia, into specific definitions of masculine or feminine traits and behaviors. I believe in defining those things as two sides of a whole, like a yin-yang, and that it shouldn’t compromise someone’s identity in any way just for displaying or taking pride in those traits.
So, here’s my big definition. Are ya ready?
Safety.
Masculinity, TRUE masculinity, I believe, is defined as when someone has a certain aura that makes you feel safe or protected when you’re around that person.
Now a lot of you that are attracted to masculinity might be disagreeing saying stuff like “oh but I like dangerous men” or “no I like it when someone feels a bit scary” but attraction, which is a totally different aspect that’s specific to you. Even then, the VAST majority of people that say they like “dangerous men” typically mean “I like it when men are dangerous and threatening but treat me with love and care” and THATS SAFETY, BRO.
I believe that the true concept of masculinity has been corrupted overtime by the machinations of insecure and weak men trying to convince others that they’re actually what people want in a man. All the signs are there.
A man should be strong to help you feel protected.
“WELL IM GONNA GET ALL BUFF WITH BIG MUSCLES SO THAT NO ONE WANTS TO MESS WITH ME”
but you also have to show you CAN protect them.
“WELL IM GONNA FREAK OUT AND TRY TO FIGHT EVERYONE THAT LOOKS AT ME WRONG SO NO ONE WOULD MESS WITH ME”
A man should be able to provide for his family so they feel safe and comfortable in their lifestyle.
“WELL IM GONNA WEAR A SUIT AND CONSTANTLY BRAG ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY I MAKE SO THAT EVERYONE THINKS IM RICH”
you know you actually have to give them attention as well though, right? You can’t JUST provide a paycheck.
“WHATEVER, ILL GET A COOL CAR AND IF THEY GET ANNOYED ABOUT ME NOT SPENDING TIME WITH EM ILL JUST GET A NEW GIRL, ILL TALK ABOUT HOW THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY ANYWAY!”
A man should be able to be confident in his decisions so that the people around him feel secure and more confident in their own choices.
“OKAY SO WHAT IM GONNA DO IS WALK AROUND AND TELL EVERYONE ELSE TO FUCK OFF AND SAY I DONT CARE ABOUT THEM! THAT WAY PEOPLE WILL BE FOOLED INTO THINKING IM CONFIDENT WHEN IM ACTUALLY DEPERATELY CRAVING THEIR APPROVAL”
When I try think of the most MASCULINE MAN MAN I can possibly think of, you know what the image that comes to mind is? A dad. A slightly overweight dad with a blue collar job and a beard who works his ass off to provide for his family and then comes home exhausted and still finds the time to play a game of catch or wrestle with his kids. I believe that image to be the absolute peak of masculinity.
I truly believe that when people have an attraction to men or women or nonbinaries, they seek certain aspects of masculine or feminine behavior. I believe that when people are attracted to masculine qualities, if you boil down the very core essence of what makes them happy with a masculine partner, you’re going to get “they make me feel safe.”
Again, I’m not saying this is something you need to care about at all or should use to define your gender. This is just my analysis boiling down what I think went wrong which led to this bullshit idea that a real man needs to walk around and demean others and ignore his family and only care about himself while disregarding everyone around him.
I think if we use this one little core tenant as the base idea of what to consider “masculinity”, it could really help the men, women, and nb’s that are seeking a goal or ideal to strive for in what kind of person they want to be.
Sorry for the long post but, TL;DR:
Masculinity is when you make someone feel safe in your presence. NOT when you ignore or demean others around you in an attempt to look bigger.
So Fuck off, sigma bitches

Ya know, one of the most bizarre defenses Katsuki Stans come up with is that apparently people who dislike him are “jealous” of him.
This is one of the more funnier defenses to me. First of all, it shows that they have no other defenses for Katsuki other than resorting to name calling. If Katsuki’s really this well written character, then the Stans should be able to easily prove why this is. It shouldn’t be hard, right?
Secondly, he’s a fictional character. What is there to be jealous of? He’s a fictional character with no free will of his own. Anyone can write a character that’s “super badass” and the like. The only thing that makes Katsuki special in that regard is that he’s in a manga published by one of the biggest manga companies in the world. Even then, he’s fictional. Everything from his character to his actions aren’t real.
Finally, it gives off the same energy as people who support irl bad people who are rich and famous. “You’re just jealous of Keemstar”, “you wish you were RiceGum”, “you dream of being like Andrew Tate”. Outside of his little bubble, Keemstar is universally memed and shat on. Man’s safety is threatened 24/7 due to the fact he’s ruined several lives. RiceGum’s channel is pretty much dead and the dude’s clearly not happy with his life. His flexing game has been weak since Content Cop exposed his ass. Andrew Tate is in jail right now and is highly likely to get charged with human trafficking, r*pe, and other crimes. Why do I bring this up? Cause not everyone e who hates a problematic/bad person is jealous of them. In fact, most aren’t. Yeah, they’re rich and famous and get bitches and whatever, but these people are extremely shallow beings with the intelligence of a walnut. Same goes for Katsuki. He may have a cool quirk, but he’s someone who lives their life bullying those who can’t fight back and whose ego gets hurt by the smallest of things. Who wants to live a life like that? Sounds like a horrible existence.

„Love burial at Sea”
Tumblr media
Historians be like: Oh my god, they were roommates!
Story:
He kept away from everyone. Even though he felt lonely, he didn't want to trust anyone. Getting to know someone made him fearful.
He didn't trust, but in the end he broke that rule.
A certain man appeared before his eyes, just as he decided to take a lonely walk among the darkness of the ocean in the city of Rapture, where there wasn't a soul around him in this late evening that he could sense.
He watched the many buildings and neon signs behind big, glass tunnels. Starting to smoke another cigarette in his hand, listening to the various announcements coming from the speakers, advertisements about various products and plasmids, but he focused mostly on the atmosphere of the music and the beautiful voices that echoed in the underwater tunnels.
He reflected that he had no specific purpose in his life, watching different types of fishes swim in their intended direction, knowing more about their purpose than he did.
He didn't expected anyone to break his loneliness.
This silence, this gloom, was hushed by a melodic and charismatic accent he had never heard in his life.
Most of the time, though, he was silent. He could listen to this Irishman for hours.
He let Atlas step into his life, not knowing that the secret behind that relationship could hurt him and push him into the darkness of the past.
A friendship that turned into love. A love he didn't expected. He didn't think he'd let it exist.
Atlas changed that. He couldn't refuse him, and above all his feelings, which Atlas had changed in his heart.
--------
I had the DLC title in my mind. I had an idea for a fic earlier, but then I thought, "Why not make an art out of it?" Aand here I am.
This is only part of the story because I wanted to create a description for this art and fic at the same time (I always create them for my all fics).
Please forgive me for any lapses in words or even in the atmosphere I wanted to create.
I wanted to show already grown relationship between them in the render, but we know how Jack is like. He's shy.
This is the moment when some time has passed since their meeting, and Atlas is still fighting for his "freedom" and for the people who hated Andrew Ryan and his government.
As for the background. I described how in the tunnels this music and commercials (and not only) play, when Jack is there all alone. I tried to describe everything as best as possible (translating it from my language to english), but if someone can't quite understand what I mean, this video shows exactly how I wanted it all to be heard through speakers, by the main character and the people who read it: click
Just beautiful. I can feel the vibe listening to this. It helps me relax, sleep, but most of all, it helped me write my own Jatlas fics, which I finished and also helps me with creating renders.

The Adventures of Capernaum High
Author's Note: I wanted this to be available on Tumblr for people who prefer that. I hope you enjoy this first installment! :D
Tumblr media
Summary: Capernaum High School is no joke. Your identity is tied to your social group. It’s a world of cutthroat politics and every man for himself. Students vary across the entire social spectrum. From poor country bumpkins to the Student Council, the rulers of the school. For them, there is no second place or runner-up. It’s them and everyone beneath them. It’s an elite club that few if any could claw their way into. And if you did, it was because you had done something awful to earn the spot. But then a new kid from some backwater town moves in and starts to stir the waters, and students are drawn in by his establishment-challenging rhetoric. The powers that be are threatened. How far will they go to “keep the peace”?
Capernaum High is a cornucopia of social classes. Walking to it, one could encounter every type of person. There’s a girl with long dark hair and a ratty oversized T-shirt smoking out in the front courtyard. Her eyes are vacant and every once in a while she puts her hand to her head like it’s splitting open. An expensive car drives into the parking lot and two prep kids emerge with not a hair out of place, clothes white and designer. A jock with a punchable smirk on his face torments a poor nerd who stands there shaking in terror. Four country guys stand and talk near an old pickup truck, two of them sitting in the bed. All of them are in their own worlds, trying to survive and thrive in the lion’s den that is high school. There’s an established order. And no one dared to rock the boat.
Well, mostly everyone.
There were the troublemakers, but they were quickly dealt with; except one who was more persistent than others. He was known among the student body as Creepy John. Creepy John was the kid who ate a bug in elementary school and now it’s just an accepted legend that he still eats them. He was a skinny guy with long unkempt hair who wore the same outfit every day. He spoke his mind and everyone had to hear it. Quite literally.
He was standing near the school entrance with a megaphone in hand. The principal keeps confiscating it, but somehow he always has one anyway. Is he stealing them back? Does he just have a supply? Who knows.
“This institution is corrupt!” he proclaims as people walk by. Some stop and listen, and even agree with him. Others ignore him. And some just hate him. “The Student Council has no concern for the common man, only maintaining an unfair power structure!”
By some miracle, he hadn’t been kicked out yet. But every incident only made the ice thinner. And detention could only do so much.
“The Student Council exploits the student body and the school does nothing about it! There is a revolution coming, and when it gets here there will be a reckoning.”
“Calm down, freak!” someone yelled.
“Get a life!” said another.
One guy stood in the small crowd listening intently. He was dressed in jeans cuffed at the bottom, a pair of tennis shoes, and a shirt supporting the school’s wrestling team. As John continued to rant, he felt a hand grip his shoulder and steer him toward the front door. He struggled for a moment before another hand messed with his long curls.
“Stop, Simon!”
A boy in a tank top and gym shorts laughed, practically dragging the other one by the scruff of his neck. His nose and cheek were bruised but faded.
“Just looking out for you, Andrew. You know Creepy John’s about to get busted. It’s routine at this point.”
“They don’t like it 'cause they know he’s right!” he insisted, playfully pushing his brother away, “John’s fighting for the little guy.”
“Well, I don’t need anyone to fight for me. I can handle myself.”
“Oh, of course. That’s why Jeho was able to beat you to a pulp yesterday.”
“Hey, you know for a fact if Ibrahim hadn’t attacked from behind I would’ve won.”
“Sure,” he rolled his eyes, “It’s not like you were only winning because I was standing on the sidelines helping.”
“And I thank you for that, my brother whom I love,” he smirked, “We’ll get them next time.”
“You know it’s not a good look to be constantly fighting your girlfriend’s brothers,” Andrew said as they entered the hallway.
“They start it every time.”
The shrill ring of the bell alerts everyone to gather inside. It seems that even John gets tired and puts down the megaphone, and the crowd disperses. The girl smoking at the front flicks the cigarette onto the ground and grinds it with the toe of her old Converse. She stops and digs the heel of her hand into her temple, wincing in pain before heading inside. People ignore her. She’s unimportant. A nobody. The “troubled” teen. She doesn’t mind most of the time, she’d rather be left alone than deal with people. What’s bad is when they don’t ignore her. When they jeer and mock and make cruel comments.
“Mary’s been with everyone.”
“I heard she trades favors for drugs.”
“She’s such a freak.”
She curled inward and got to her locker, finding a note upon opening it. It asked her to meet behind the school during lunch, signed by a boy she was acquainted with but didn’t know very well. She glanced up and found him further down the hall, talking to some friends. Alarm bells screamed in her mind, but she silenced them as best she could. He seemed like a nice guy, maybe this would be different than all the other times…
