Ok sooo don’t know if you’ve ever already been asked this but-
I’m like a sucker for cute baby robin Jason interactions with the Teen titans. In my own wonderful world I like to imagine that Baby Jason had (has) a crush on his older brother’s cool older friends (cough cough Roy).
How do you think that would go? (I’ve thought of these scenarios soooo many times)
Especially when he meets them again when he’s older, and ripped, and ohmygodthosethighs
Just asking Fellow Jason Todd Stan to Fellow Jason Todd Stan :)
Tysm for the ask!
Hmmm
I think the more Titans Jaybin had a baby crush on the cuter it gets.
Dick: so hey Jay how was it what did you think of my team?
Jaybin, who spent way too many hours surrounded by the coolest and prettiest people he's ever seen smiling and talking to him: I think I have arrhythmia.
As for his comeback, I'm gonna be honest I'm very critical of villainous Jason, I think UTH an intelligent, enjoyable story but I personally can't get over its flaws so I'm gonna answer using some AUs of mine, please bear with me. Mostly it's just hard to analyse and make hypothesis about a characterization you disagree with.
Antigonish : that's my personal UTH rewrite where Jason is still a villain/antihero/rogue but the way I'd have written it. In this, Jason (17) looks around 17 years old at most in UTH so he's still not exactly a sexy adult but I don't think the Titans know he's back yet. At the end of Antigonish, Jason leaves Gotham and Dick only finds out from Bruce after he left that Jason's back. So I think the way Dick learns it and passes it on the Titans is "there is a very deeply traumatized highly skilled teenager wandering across the country who needs urgent psychiatric care if lost please return to Batman." I don't know when he first meets the og Titans afterwards (though he maybe meets Roy first since I kinda want him to wind up in Star City for a while, make friends with Mia), but I think there would be that "best friend's undead little brother, handle with care" vibe going on on the Titan's side. On Jason's side, I can see him annoying the fuck out of Mia lmao -"wow your older brother is so handsome I wanna use these biceps as pillows for the rest of my life", "have you seen him with Lian, I wanna bear his children" she would be SO DONE with him
Now in an AU similar to Antigonish, but also closer to canon (aka trying to mash my version of Jason into various dc canons held together with glue to have in character!Roy with an older version of Antigonish!Jason teaming up) which I will call the Jayroy AU as its sole purpose for existence is that I want these people to date, Jason and Roy meet as adults (Jason is 22 and Roy 29). Why did they never meet before? Eh, raising a kid who definitely doesn't get exploded is hard work. Anyway the point is Roy doesn't recognise Jason. Jason is using a pseudonym (probably something stupid like Harper Teal) because of legally dead reasons and just assumes Roy recognised him and followed along, but he looks nothing like the cute little guy who blushed like a tomato every time Roy talked to him. At some point Jason casually mentions the adventure he had with the Titans and Roy goes through several kinds of shock and has to reboot like a computer.
> + bonus lantern AU:
Red Lantern Dick: "hey guys remember my first little brother Jason? He asked if he could get some help on an intergalactic issue."
The titans: "that cute kid? Didn't he die? And why would the second Robin need help with intergalactic threats anyway?"
Jason, thighs and tits on display, in his Star Sapphire uniform, with a machine gun construct under the arm: "Hey guys who wants to help me take down a space wide trafficking ring?"

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!
For some reason the poem Antigonish really scratches my brain, tge first time i heard it was on the podcast The Magnus Archives, and since then i cant stop reading it i really like the poem also i like to rewatch that episode, "Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...
When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door... (slam!)
Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away..."

JCvstU - I may not be Asian, but I love how this series defends religion from Xi Xingping's Maoist Communism. Giving a platform & harbour to the religions destroyed in their cultural revolution,
Migrants from the 1800s-1940s who fled China when poverty, European colonialism sent Opiom drugs to so many local Chinese deaths went up & their economy went down.
When Gold rushes in British Columbia & California. Along with railroad construction. the latter many bodies have yet to be found of the those who built tech & Canada.
That this has to do with religion is much like how Gaelic Celts were colonized by the English & Germanics & fled to Canada & parts of Eastern USA to preserve their traditions from the deadly nationalist Germanic law & rule.
Minjian & Celts like me are "Ethnic" more geens & subculture-aesthetic. Not Nationalist which is a political ideology in disguise like Fascism, Capitalism, Communism, etc.
When Communism & the left attacked religion, the way Abrahamic religions called other religions to be ruined in the past for "Ruining everything" many fled & brought Daoist, Buhddist & even Catholicism back to a safe haven.
I won't talk about how cliche it is to be a spiderman-sailor moon series will tiny LGBTQ shipping. People in toxic animation fandoms end up even being p3d0f1l3s when they make shipping art of them & post many pics of them.
Hence why there's talks of making all high school series be about characters in their 20s instead. Especially when they get rebooted. More relatable for a season 2!
I hope this will be available on BluRay soon!

I want to know :3
:D
My favorite poem is Antigonish by Hughes Mearns! It’s featured in the Magnus Archives and it is lodged in my brain forever. I’ll probably make it its own dedicated post but it talks about a man who isn’t there, with the writer wishing that the man who isn’t there would go away. It’s a lovely little poem and especially as someone whose psychosis manifests primarily as delusions, I simply Vibe with a poem about something you know isn’t there but terrorizes you anyways.
And yeah! I have taste -> color synesthesia!! For the first 10 or so years of my life I thought you could teach colors to (color)blind people using foods. It’s kind of a weird thing to try and talk about because really the main way I know that my experience of the world is different from most people’s is that language just not built for the way I experience taste. I’ve thought of trying to do some sort of art based on my synesthesia but ive never been able to figure out exactly how since it’s really difficult for me to separate taste and the colors. I also experience ‘shrimp colors’ that don’t exist in a way humans can visually experience. Like orange and green at the same time, but not grey or speckled; the color simply does not exist.
There’s also almost no correlation between visualcolors and tastecolors. Por ejemplo, carrots (orange food) taste like a desaturated forest green. The only real trends are that the more artificial a food is, the more likely it is to match color wise; and that water will lighten and desaturate things.
Also it’s difficult for me to sort of quantify since I have no other frame of reference, but it does have a lot of effects on my life. Since color tends to overwhelm any ‘normal taste’, that’s what most of my favorite (and least favorite) foods are based on. I dislike carrots because it’s unpredictable whether they’re green or brown and I don’t like that neither of those are orange. My two favorite foods are grape koolaid (it’s so purple and I like purple; I also never water it down because then it’s Purple and I can also taste sour) and salt & vinegar chips (the vinegar covers any colors).
Water is always white or a very very light grey. This does affect what water I will drink because I avoid drinking water that’s sort of tinted warm colors. Doesn’t vibe right.
And the way I describe foods is almost always color based, since that’s the main way I experience it. This has deeply confused and mildly frustrated anyone trying to learn anything applicable to their own experience of food. I have no idea what other people taste, especially since colors tend to overshadow anything else. I’m pretty sure I experience spiciness and saltiness normally though.
And as mentioned earlier, it seriously impacts my sensory issues. Tastes are doubled (I guess?) and any after taste lingers for ages. If the water im drinking is significantly tinted it builds up in my mouth and is Bad (I had to pause writing this to refill my water bottle with my house filtered water instead of the water fountain from my school since that water is reddish and my water is only very faintly teal). Also since all taste is doubled-ish I am basically always aware of the fact that my mouth has a taste and a color. Which kinda sucks.
Also I think this is an adhd thing but I have a hard time describing colors unless I’m actively tasting something because I have a word based brain and the colors are something that completely upends the English language’s way of describing the senses. That’s sort of why I always describe it as being a one way link and say “taste to color synesthesia” rather than “taste color synesthesia”, because I don’t taste anything when I see colors, I just experience colors when I taste something. I think if it went both ways I would be a very different person and would likely have meltdowns much more often but that’s pure speculation.
I thiiiink that’s everything I can think of right now, but yeah! Synesthesia! I think I heard the word about four-ish years ago now and literally nothing has clicked for me faster than that did. It took me less time to start identifying with synesthesia than it did for me to identify with any lgbtq+ label. Every time I think about the fact that ‘tasting colors’ is something that people say to mean they’re loopy or high or something and not that they can literally taste colors I have to do a double take. It’s such a seemingly tiny little thing but it’s so fundamental to my experience of the world that I cannot even imagine anything different. What does koolaid taste like if not Color? I don’t know, because all I can taste is Color.

Redemption Round 3 - Match 31
It's a battle of fucked up houses! Which of these statements has bigger House of Leaves energy? That's definitely one way you could vote in this poll! Cracked Foundation made it through with 128 votes, but can it stand up to Upon the Stair's astonishing 271 votes from RR2? (I don't remember enough from stats to say if Upon the Stair is a mathematical outlier but it definitely is colloquially)

Statement of Anya Villette, regarding a cleaning job on Hill Top Road.
MAG 085 - Upon the Stair | Spotify - Acast - YT | Wiki | Transcript
Statement of an unknown figure, regarding an encounter they may or may not have had in their home.

Mag 85
Hey it's the weird poem statement! This one always stood out to me because this poem is my dad's favourite. I have many fond memories of my dad incessantly quoting this to us, smiling with childlike deight at irritating everyone with it again.
Yeah my dad's favourite thing about the poem is how it's 'playfully impossible', so I have very deliberately not shared any of this information with him. Jonny's right, it really sucks the fun out of it.
Gotta hand it to Jonny tho, he really did add the disconcerting nonsense back into the poem. This is some Alice in Wonderland level gibberish.
Ahhhh here we go with unknowingly choosing your own doom again! He had a couple of days of reality where he might have theoretically been able to make an escape, but he called out to something he didn't understand and couldn't have possibly understood the consequences of, sealing his doom. You might say he opened the door.
Unsurprisingly, considering my associations with the poem, this is the part that fucked me up the most. :(
This is just like when that guy played games with Death and eventually took over his role. Interesting that the Spiral has a staircase/unreality version of the immortality/games of chance myth. And it seems like avatars inheriting their powers and domains from the one who held the role before them is a theme in the recent statements, considering that was the point of the previous statement about the garbage dump.
He hated the man who did this to him so much, and now he's doing the same thing to other people (killing many in the process) in the hopes of trapping someone in the same way he was trapped, even if it causes his death. And the statement ends with him talking about how he has very little control over his actions anymore, he's just following his nature. It's impossible to say how true that is.
Eric!! Hey Eric!! Holy crap it's lucky you didn't get taken by the staircase monster, that would have been so bad for so many reasons.
Haha, he's so salty!
I really don't think Elias is choosing statements based on their 'moral', mostly because statements definitely don't have morals but also because I'm not fully convinced he's choosing them at all. If he is, this one is definitely more about how if you inherit an evil role you just have to go with it and start killing people, not be a fucking baby who whines about morality all the time, Jon.

If I had a nickel for each time I’ve encountered a queer piece of media that features Antigonish by William Hughes Mearns, I’d have too nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right

Antigone then goes to her brothers’ guarded body and pours dirt and sand over him, performing the proper burial rights.
It represents the ideal love for parents and noble selflessness, which led to a tragic death
