I guess my whole beef with the whole buckt*mmy convo is that they could’ve easily built up their relationship in that moment and made it a scene where Buck leaned on T*mmy emotionally and grown more emotionally intimate.

Bc Bobby is one of the most important people in Buck’s life, and he mentions that Bobby is like a father to him.

And like instead of adding emotionally depth to their relationship with the convo, it just became joking convo about daddy issues that ended in asex joke one liner that just really didn’t fit the tone of the episode overall :/

Before 8x06: Lou has been harrased, and even sent death threats (link), by toxic Buddie shippers for months. Tim and Oliver seemed to do nothing, not even asked ABC to delete hateful comments towards Lou in social media.

In 8x06: Tim made Tommy broke Buck's heart, made him the bad guy in the story (link). In an interview, Lou said he has expected backlash from fans (link).

After 8x06 aired: The General Audience is angry at Tim for bad writing, and at Oliver for perpetuating a negative bisexual stereotype (link). The only one who doesn't look bad in the fall out is Lou.

It is ironic how things turn out. I believe it's Karma at work.

Bucktommy is some good ass fucking food when you don’t have non gay/bi men in your ear, projecting, telling you how mlm relationships should be, and using themselves as stand-ins for either character. Like, when people aren’t pulling out their hair, foaming at the mouth while intentionally mischaracterizing or purposely misinterpreting everything that’s happening on screen because it doesn’t fit their narrative, BuckTommy as a whole really really is some good fucking food.

I’m just so tired of the homophobia in this fandom, it’s so obviously clear that bobs do not give a shit about representation or real life queer men. Infact is go as far to say that if they ever actually met irl queer men they wouldnt like us. To them we are just there for their enjoyment and we have to stick within rigid guidelines of how to act and how to treat our partners.

I’ve truly never experienced such outright blatant homophobia before from people who claim to love queer men and want representation. first off Tevan IS representation, and there has been representation since the show began. Just because you are pushing for a ship between two men doesnt mean you cannot be homophobic. Especially when you ignore queer men repeatedly telling you that YOU are being homophobic. Its not about “disliking” Tommy. You can dislike him without being homophobic. Its about calling a gay man a PREDATOR for showing desire to his adult boyfriend. Choices Are Made on TV Shows...

BoBs often say choices are made on TV shows. It's basically their reason to justify their insistence that there are romantic meanings in a lot of Buck and Eddie scenes, which are often missed by casual viewers. They've been abusing this reason for a very long time...

Now, let me show you some examples of choices which were obviously made on this TV show:

1)) Eddie was reading a swimsuit magazine in a hospital setting.

Hospitals usually avoid having suggestive materials on their premises. They often have minors' presence, especially in the patient rooms. They don't want to get sued by helicopter parents. It means Eddie most likely brought the magazine himself. But, why bother? Why don't simply make Eddie scrolled his phone while he was talking to Buck and Tommy, a safer and more practical option?

Because they want to show that Eddie is interested in women, and not into the half-naked man who was laying on a bed in front of him.

2)) Buck and Eddie's hand shake was left in the cutting room.

There had been a BTS still of Buck and Eddie's handshake going around the internet before episode 8x05 was on air. The still prompted BoBs to make assumptions about the birth of canon Buddie romance.

The handshake actually signified a bet between Buck and Eddie. It was a cute moment, should be less than 1 second long, and emphasized the playful nature of Buck and Eddie's friendship. So, why did it get cut? The people in charge of the show have included Tommy's 'Oh, shit' moment, which was obviously just an undeliberate mistake (Lou slipped off), in episode 8x01. Why did they cut this handshake?

Probably because their social media team have seen the Buddie romance assumption made based on the handshake still. They didn't want to feed the beast. This cut is inline with their decision to make Eddie read a swimsuit magazine in a hospital room (as if Eddie couldn't browse pictures of naked women on his phone 🙄).

3)) There are other interesting choices made on this episode, which I've mentioned in my previous post (link).

For once, BoBs are right. Choices are made on this TV show. And this particular episode indeed has double meanings:

Tommy is Buck's chosen boyfriend (doting partner, besties with Eddie, welcomed by the 118 family).

The show is done with the Buddie bullshit.

These messages will probably fall into the deaf ears of BoBs, but at least the people in charge of the show have tried. They can't be accused of baiting, if their messages are well received by the general audience. It's not their fault that BoBs have media lliteracy issues.

These buddie fans keep on trying to find the smallest detail possible for there delusions. Even if buddie does ever happen can’t y’all wait for Eddie to reconcile with his kid. The reason he left was Because of eddies relationships. If Eddie got in a relationship now it would deteriorate Chris and Eddie relationship even more. Chris is likely not going to trust Eddie for a while. If buddie happens it happens (hopefully not) but atleast wait till Eddie is in a better mindset jeez. Also these shippers really trying to make everything bout buddie just watch the show and enjoy it don’t ruin it for other people and certainly don’t send death threats to people or actors. For those who didn't hear it the first time, I'll say it again. Sexualizing the trauma brought on by neglectful fathers is gross. Combining sex and a pseudo-father relationship is also messed up. The age gap becomes a bit questionable when they put this into the relationship.

For real, go back and watch season 4 and all the pain that Buck went through when his parents showed back up. Now tell me that it's cool if an older man comes along and sexualizes that hurt. That's not a thing to portray as sexy, it's twisted.

Buck may not be real, but if you weren't born yesterday, you know that media does not exist in a vacuum. What these stories portray and promote affect people.

So Ryan Murphy and the others are not off the hook. They're gonna have to answer to every young woman and man who is tired of seeing their pain and family trauma played off as "kinky" or desirable by older men.

They made us care about Tommy because they aimed for the maximum emotional impact on us. It feels like their way to say, "Surprise! You didn't see it coming, did you? Haha! Look how smart we are."

Yes, they are smart. And I'm done with them. I'm not rewarding the people who broke my heart just to show that they were smarter than me. I'm done with this little show. Unless they bring Tommy back on screen, I'm not watching. Because it is the only way to fix this mess, after they let him being harrased for months, only to make him the bad guy in the end (link). And for what??? So they can shoot #LetBuckF–k scenes ala Wedding Crashers as suggested oh-so-eagerly by their golden boy (link)???

Fell asleep then woke back up still pissed, because:

Tim was clear when he decided on bi buck, Tommy was chosen on purpose. Someone who fit in with the team already and could fit in Buck’s life. It solved the outsider problem.

They wrote Chimney talking about how cool he was, made him and Eddie friends, had Eddie invite him to a virtual bday party, had Bobby give a huge stamp of approval saying Tommy was good for Buck, that he was good people. Made a big deal of the wedding/coming out scene.

They could have made this an off screen breakup at the beginning of season 8. Honestly, I would have accepted it better. But they brought Tommy back, showed again how he fit with Buck’s world. Showed there was no hostility between him and Eddie. They showed Tommy going above and beyond for Buck, sleeping on a couch with too small of a blanket, doting on him, staring at him with so much love, “breaking the curse,” etc.

I don’t buy Tommy’s lame excuse for breaking it off. That’s such crappy, high school writing. This man is 40 fucking years old, he’s six months into this relationship, and I’m supposed to believe he just suddenly decides he and Buck aren’t made to last? That Buck needs other partners? Please!

It also pisses me off that they had him get Buck basketball game tickets for their anniversary. He has got to know by now that Buck doesn’t actually like basketball. And why even have Abby be part of it at all? That was all part of the red string of fate theory, so it felt like an extra slap in the face to include it in their breakup.

The whole thing was so poorly executed, and it seems wrong that they had Oliver and Lou do a whole ass interview at the end of 7 to just… go nowhere in 8. Then have Lou do two exit interviews when he’s not a main anyway, so it feels worse to actually hear from him (especially when he seems as genuinely confused as we do).

They should have had it be some random guy. They shouldn’t have made the effort to include Tommy as much as they did. They shouldn’t have mentioned wanting bucktommy to be like tarlos. Shouldn’t have mentioned getting Buck off his hamster wheel. They gave fucking Taylor more time than this, and she spent the majority of her screen time using Buck to further her career.

And someone, somewhere down the line could have made a statement to stop fucking harassing Lou, seeing as they’ve known for at least a few months that he was no “threat” to anyone or anything.

How to Beat BoBs' Arguments in A Single Episode – Tim's Version

Or should I say, 'Taylor's Version'?🤔

Shout out to Tim Minear and Taylor Wong, the writer of episode 8x05 ("Masks"), who have achieved the impossible: beating 3 (three) of the most common BoBs' arguments in a single episode 🤣🤣🤣.

ARGUMENT #1: Eddie would treat Buck better than Tommy could ever do.

What's on the episode: Tommy, the boyfriend, took care of Buck through the night and the next morning, boils and all. Meanwhile Eddie, his best friend, couldn't even look at Buck's boils at the next shift.

They show that Tommy treated Buck better than Eddie did, without antagonizing Eddie.

ARGUMENT #2: Eddie, Buck's best friend, doesn't like Tommy.

What's on the episode: Eddie and Tommy were roasting Buck together.

They show that Tommy and Eddie are close friends, and not secretly compete for Buck's love.

ARGUMENT #3: The other members of 118 family don't like Tommy.

What's on the episode: Nobody complained when Tommy was accompanying Buck in the hospital, to be together with the rest of 118 family who were waiting for Denny's surgery.

If they hate Tommy, Chimney or Hen or Bobby surely have said something about Tommy being with them in such vulnerable moment, or even have thrown him out of the door.

BONUS: Tevan shippers had been wanting to see Tommy referred as Buck's boyfriend on screen.

What's on the episode: Buck was calling Tommy 'my boyfriend' 😍❤️🥰😭🎊🪅🥳💃🕺.

This episode is so effective and well-written to establish Tommy as Buck's boyfriend. The haters can hardly find anything to be twisted, so they blame the writer for 'bad writing' instead 🤣🤣🤣. I am sure at least some of the writers have been lurking among us all this time. This is too much of a coincidence to happen in a single episode 😂😂😂.
