This hospital just makes me sad. All the memos and stuff just make me think "This is James trying to figure out a cure" and the stress of it. To me he's the doctor in those tapes for the remake. Including the "I hope you find it" voice message later in the hotel. Since a chunk of the voiced dialogue is trying to find a diagnosis for their patients but then you hear "She will not survive this" ( or something to that effect ) I don't mean he's LITERALLY trying to science up a cure. Just that stressful scramble of trying to find hope.

It's that stress you feel thinking a loved one is going to get better. And just that moment where you have to tell yourself this is terminal. Given how super deep in denial James was in the game it checks out why these lil taped sections are spread apart from the hospital to the hotel finale. He's trying to avoid it ( Well that and he's trying to avoid the hospital in general but I don't blame him really ) and you only hear the acceptance that she wasn't going to survive once James is in that "Post tape watch" state.

It's nice that there is still that sort of "James is accepting the terminal news" scene since the headphones you put on in the OG game are just a lil echo collectible.

The big puzzle box being empty in the hospital to me was a visual of "There just HAS to be something in here" and the quiet observation that there isn't anything in it. There is no cure. Some stuff Mary liked, she doesn't anymore. Hence the "IT USED TO WORK!" on one of the notes in the hospital.

Altho it does crack me up Pyramidhead showing up is just "OI FUCKER. GO BACK IN THERE AND REALIZE THE TRUTH" when he chucks James back into the hospital.

I am eternally grateful that there's a ton of settings to customize how SH2R looks (for accessibility or just personal preference reasons). I prefer my interface to be minimal, nearly non-existent, and i keep forgetting the game looks that way because i want it to look that way.

I see clips of other people's gameplay with maximum interface and it physically . hurts . me. 😂

I know we all have different needs (you do you), but man, i'm so relieved it's not mandatory for all that extra stuff to be on screen.
