Women in Politics

I know that his election was devastating for a billion and a half reasons, but one thing that occurred to me was how much of an example this is going to set for girls interested in Politics, or any position of power in general. Like, the Trump campaign's have shown that no matter how qualified the woman is, no matter how smart, likable, or strong, they will always be second best to any man. Two of the most qualified women in politics, who had years of experience lost to a bigoted dumbass with a big mouth and bigger pockets. Harris and Clinton worked their whole lives to reach the positions they were in before their campaigns and some fuckup who just decided one day to run for president. And he still fucking won. Twice. Because he is a man and his opponents weren't. Just look at what happened when we pitted another old white dude against him. It shows just how deep seeded a lot of the sexism and misogyny in the country is and shows us just how far we still have to go. We're on the stage, but the judges are still rigged.

Listen, I have my beef with Taylor but imo there is no way she does not endorse Kamala before the election. From a PR perspective, there is currently a narrative that she does not support other women, as well as a narrative that she is a white feminist. If she does not come out in support of Kamala, a black and south asian female nominee of the party she publicly supports, it will hurt her image. She is a coward, but it takes zero bravery at this point for her to endorse Kamala, and there would be blowback if she didn't. Also, despite her many flaws, she does genuinely dislike Trump, and has been public about this in the past (not in 2016, which would have been useful, but like I said she has many flaws). I would be genuinely shocked if she didn't back Kamala at this point. She is probably waiting for an official nomination and announcement of who the VP will be so she can do the bare minimum photo-op with Kamala Harris sugar cookies, but with the precarious situation in the States rn, I'm sure they'll take any help they can get.

I think she'll say nothing, for the same weak reason she stayed silent in 2016 and didn't endorse Hillary Clinton. She got plenty of criticism for that at the time, but it didn't affect her.
