Weird Wednesday Headcanon: Sarada & Mirai are time travellers in my AU (+ a little venting about Boruto).
This is basically me, yelling at the top of my lungs, and I am sure I am speaking on behalf of the good 90% of the fandom, who actually cares about the story:
BORUTO. FUCKING. SUCKS!
And I gotta say, out of all the newcomers in Boruto, the only two newcomer shinobi, who didn't make me want to kill myself, were Sarada Uchiha and Mirai Sarutobi. Ironically, these two are also the same characters that barely have any screen presence (I know that Sarada is part of the main cast, but for some reason, from what I have seen so far, at least, she is somehow even less useful than her mom, in correlation to the rest of her team), or any major feats of their own...
...I seem to be noticing a pattern here. Off-topic, but, I NEED to talk about this for a second. May it be Kishimoto or Ikemoto, any living being with boobs and a vagina, will always be treated as "second rate cheerleaders" under their pens, and they unironically believe, this is all done in favor of women, while relying on harmful and outdated stereotypes. Thanks. For nothing. And then they wonder, why no one likes the way they portray females in their IP.
You'd think that, by the time Boruto rolled around, they would have actually learned their lesson, and not dare repeating what made their story receive so much criticism in the first place? But nope. I guess, because "nostalgia sells well"? So, thanks for reminding me, how useless you two jesters are.
But back to the topic at hand: Essentially, Sarada and Mirai had their own timeline completely destroyed by the Otsutsuki clan...
...at least, this is what they learned about them, because, really, the Otsutsukis by themselves, aren't really a "clan" in the normal sense, it was more like, an orchestrated science experiment, if you will. To create the perfect, most flawless shinobi, with barely any weaknesses. And guess who unleashed these monsters. I tell you:
Orochimaru.
Tumblr media
I mean, come on, all these years of research had to amount to something, and I REFUSE to believe, he was ever truly "redeemed", to the point where he would just stroll around Konoha, like he owns the place, like an NPC. To me, he will remain the shinobi equivalent to Frieza. Nuff' said. And I will never forgive Boruto era Naruto for being so stupid and spineless to let this snake-headed waste of space stay in the village. That HAD to come back to bite him in the ass, man.
Besides, just by itself, this decision was so full of shit.
Let me get this straight:
Orochimaru committed unethical human experimentation, kidnapping, bribery, war crimes and grave desecration, all for what? Attaining eternal life? ...He returns back to Konoha.
Sasuke went rogue, because of circumstances, all enforced by Konoha themselves, and the elders, meaning, he mostly fought to survive, wanting to pay his clan, and his brother, the respect they rightfully deserved (besides, his kill count is a joke compared to Orochimaru's)? NO! KEEP HIM OUT! THE UCHIHA ARE TRASH, THEY DON'T BELONG IN KONOHA!
...Why is anyone a fan of Boruto again? Shit like this, is just disrespecting everything we were conditioned to rightfully judge, because the system clearly enjoys playing dirty. And yet for some reason, Naruto knowingly chooses to be Hokage in the exact same system, that treated him, Sasuke, Gaara, Kakashi, Anko, Hinata, and every other jinchuriki, like dirty dishwater. He always spoke the loudest about bringing peace, yet he never dares to challenge the Konoha elders... who, not only are the biggest reason as to why 90% of all the conflicts in the story we had so far even happened in the first place, considering they endorsed what Danzo was doing the whole time, but also, by the way: ARE STILL FUCKING ALIVE, AND PART OF THE AUTHORITY! PUT THEM IN JAIL!
...
So, yeah. Sarada, Mirai, please, rewrite the freaking timeline, and fix this shit. Get it out of my face. Naruto and Kakashi playing the bootlickers for the elders is so freaking OOC for them, especially in regards to how much they claim to be behind Sasuke, and just letting someone like Orochimaru return, willy-nilly.
...And to further shit on all the tropes, you know how Future Sarada will make her grand entrance into the story here?
...Putting Kabuto, who dares to attack the Leaf village, with an army of White Zetsu clones, laced with "Otsutsuki" proxy DNA, in another Tsukuyomi Genjutsu, while just destroying all of the White Zetsus, without even breaking a single sweat. And her Tsukuyomi is nothing like Itachi's, it's more loving, gentle, almost angelic, how she puts Kabuto "to rest", in a field of cherry blossom petals...
...before slicing him to pieces with her dad's trusted blade.
I do need to bring up though, by the time Sarada and Mirai travel back to the Blank Period to prevent the birth of the Otsutsuki plague, the two are young adults, around the same age group as the Konoha 12, basically 19 / 20.
This is how they look (a visual basis):
Sarada:
Tumblr media
Mirai:
Tumblr media
Added details, to make the SasuSaku fans squeal with happiness:
Future Sarada inherits her dad's sword
She unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan, after learning the truth about why Sasuke remained absent, for the majority of her lifespan (blame the Uchiha stigma, subtly enforced by the elders for this, wiping everything under the rug, and Naruto's and Kakashi's refusal to help her father)
She bears the Byakugo Seal from her mom
She also wears Kawaki's piercings
Boruto's / Sasuke's headband is hers, and she wears it like her mom does
And for Mirai fam, to respect some of the more wholesome aspects of her characters:
Future Mirai inherits her dad's chakra blades
She wears her mother's bandages, and is a Genjutsu master, much like her
Might Guy's weights, meaning, she is insanely fast, once she takes them off
Tenten's weapon arsenal is hers to bear, too
Rock Lee taught her the 8 Gates
And in general, I will leave it up to you to fill in the blanks on how mindblowingly wholesome, but also insanely heartwrenching Sarada's and Mirai's reunion with the past versions of their family and friends, would run down.
I am sure, Future Sarada will just fall apart, seeing her mom and dad again, after they got killed by Isshin Otsutsuki, even though, she wasn't even born yet around that time, and despite this version of her past having the Uchiha clan being pardoned and acknowledged, which is why Sasuke is a permanent resident this time, it would feel strange... ...but due to how deep Sasuke's and Sakura's love runs for each other, accepting Future Sarada comes almost naturally to them.
And well, poor Mirai, seeing both herself as a baby, and her still young mother again. That's gotta be so messed up, yet oddly comforting to be in the presence of a parent, who died protecting you, down to her last breath.
But on a lighter note, if these two were to interact with the Blank Period versions of their friends and comrades, just imagine how comically awkward it would be to realize: There are quite a number of deviations from what they were used to in their time. Examples being:
Neji is alive, and is dating Tenten
Kakashi and Anko are married, and Anko ain't overweight
Ino ended up with Choji, instead of Sai, and Karui ended up going for Kiba, instead of Choji
Sasuke is actually besties with Neji, Kiba and Shikamaru, and all four are drinking buddies
Tenten runs a full-on tech workshop (she will be the one to rebuild the time machine from scratch)
Shino is a granny chaser
The Konoha elders were chased out of the village
Naruto, Hinata and Rock Lee share an apartment together
Naruto has long hair, tied into a ponytail, in honor of his mother
On demand of Sasuke, Team Taka / Hebi are now Leaf ninja
Oh, also, because I am that petty, Sarada will warn Naruto and Hinata about their future kids being nothing short of menaces to society, especially Boruto himself. Demanding them to punish their kids more often, whenever they misbehave, especially Boruto. She knows all too well, how big of a pain in the ass he was.
But in all seriousness, she will express genuine sadness to them, as she felt like, she failed to save their son and daughter the most, especially since Momoshiki inhabited Boruto's body, leaving them with not that many options anymore. She hopes that she can be of assistance this time, and assure that their kids will be able to grow up, without any of this drama.
Basically, Sarada and Mirai go back in time, to fix the mess, that is the Boruto story. Can be understood in two different ways:
Fuck the Boruto continuity, reset it, please. Make Sarada and Mirai part of the main cast to oppose the elders and feudal lords, referring back to this thread of mine:
Taking notes from SoulCalibur 6's storyline with Cassandra, who meets an alternate version of herself from a destroyed timeline, inside Astral Chaos (SoulCalibur fam, you know, you know)
And with more material for you to sink your teeth into, without further ado, I say:
Peace.

Indra is moon because?
I wondered why Indra and his reincarnations are taked as the moon. It just got weird for me.
Indra's eyes were red as the sun. His black flame jutsu is named after the sun goddess. His natural element is fire, directly related to the sun. Damn, even the red part of the Uchiha clan cross looks like the rising sun. Where did the moon come from then?
And then it dawned on me. Indra is not the moon because it suits him.
Indra is moon because he reminds his father of Kaguya.
Hagoromo is sure that his son is a dangerous, power-hungry monster, just like his mother. The mother who became the moon. These are his direct words. So it doesn't matter what Indra really is, as long as he is dangerous in the eyes of his father, he will be the moon. He will be a reflection of Kaguya to him.
Tumblr media
(And yes, Indra really is a power hungry monster in anime fillers but in his defense I will say that he is a cutie)

Things in the last that made no sense
Naruto- realised he loved Hinata just by seeing her memories, I mean that doesn't make sense, because it was so obvious he loved Sakura not that I could blame him, she's awesome.
Sakura- she knew Naruto loved her, romantically, but she said it was because of his rivalry, sakura knows what romantic love is.
Hinata - getting the hamura charak made no sense, she lost every battle she tried her hardest in, yet, she gotten a power-up , but it wasn't like Team 7 her was just temporary, her power-up was just given to her, she didn't work for it, I mean she worked hard to get strong but it's just so random how she given a charak out of nowhere.
Hinata being the heroine - make no sense, we didn't see much of her since she was a side character, and out of nowhere she's a heroin in a movie. It's did not feel right.
The kiss scene - the kiss was romantic, but at the same time naruhina kiss was at the worst timings, they just saved hanabi, bunch of eye balls were falling and two thought it was a perfect time to make out, I mean, surly it could have waited and time was at the essence.
Hanabi - Hanabi is said to have the purest byuakgan, but we barely saw her .
Sasuke- getting 1 second of screen time, it's not like he's isn't a part of the main cast or anything, yet he was barely there.
Ino, Choji, kiba, shino, tenten and lee-baerly there, wouldn't it make sense for kiba and Shino to be on the rescue mission since they have sensory skills and looking for people is their thing, Choji and Ino, Lee like sasuke had a moment of screen time. Tenten, we gotten a design of her for the movie yet she's forgotten yet again.
The love triangle - Naruto and Tonri fighting over Hinata, felt weird, BC toner had a goal to wipe out humanity, but instead ended up in a fight for Hinata,
Naruto fight with him was good, but wasn't the best, it felt like he was a bit weaker and only got strong because of power of love. I mean he and team 7 beat Kaguya a god, but struggled against an alien... if team 7 was there, they would not struggle.
Team 7- winning the war, and yet, it felt they were nerf to make Hinata seem strong and for the new Sanin they got the side character treatment.
Hisashi- I kinda wanted to see him fight, since he was trying to protect his daughters. He may be a strict military dad, but he still cares for his kids, to point he almost died for them and he wasn't abusive like the Hinata fandom made him out to be. Just, they were in a time of war and their no time to be coddle and he protected Hinata many times not just because she's the heir. He was disappointed in her for losing to hanabi 5 year younger. Calling her a loser. And saying that the hyuga had no use to for her, was the worst thing to say . But he made it . The manga show him training her not abusing her.
Hinata past- she was bullied and Naruto saved her, but manga, she was given a carefree childhood thank you her friends and family. and not bullied.
I'm going to say, the problem with the movie was mostly BC, Hinata was the heroine which was a bad call. And it made her a damsel in distress. We were robbed of seeing how strong the hyuga clan was, we were robbed of seeing the new Sanin and the romance was so rushed. It was said that neji died so naruhina can happen, yet, he wasn't even mention, only time we saw him was his ghost at the last ep. So Neji dying for Naruto and Hinata was the pointless .
Honestly I wanted to see team 7 team up again, after all the things they went through and all.
___
Also, if himawari could save inojin who impaled just like Neji was, then how on earth was Naruto was unable to save neji.
This is either bad writing or the next gen are getting stronger.also, I was hoping himawari would not be a jinjiuriki. I don't miss that she is.

Toneri and Karin are a Lot better than Sakura. While both had unhealthy obsessions with their love interests, they eventually got over it and let their partners go for their happiness. Most of their actions were driven by their tragic backstories and isolation. I'm surprised people hate Toneri and Karin with a burning passion but still love villains like Madara and Obito. Sakura on the other hand is a complete psychopath who continued chasing after a guy who had rejected her multiple times. She never tried to understand his happiness. She only cared about herself. She had a normal childhood and loving parents and wanted to abandon them for a boy who couldn't give two shits about her.
Exactly and if Karin were as nasty as Sakura I’m sure she would’ve taken advantage of Saradas birth and killed both of them but instead she treats Sakura like a friend while Sakura tapes her picture over Karin’s and doesn’t tell Sarada anything about where her glasses come from. And no one can say “Sakura doesn’t want Sarada associated with Orochimaru”, ITS AN OPEN SECRET THAT HER TEAM MATE IS OROCHIMARU’S SON????? As if he couldn’t take advantage of THAT bond and trap Sarada somehow especially if there’s potential they’d get together.
And you’re right about Toneri. I mean he did get his ass beat but most guys need that to change their minds anyway. In some ways Sakura acts just as masculine as Toneri with her feelings and at the very least, he provided Hinata with a whole castle and servants, Sakura is pretty much broke because her parents weren’t even ninjas or head of their clan. Makes me feel even worse for Sasuke that he had a BROKE BITCH chasing after him while Hinata had a whole prince.

If in an alternate timeline you had the power of hindsight and to decide when exactly the Naruto series ends…
This one’s kind of a weird one, so please ask for clarification if you need it.

so it seems sns shippers are still spreading this misinformation no kishimoto never said that in fact three was whole interview of kishimoto stating that. Naruto and Sasuke relationship based of the one he has with his twin brother naruto himself has referred to Sasuke as his brother multiple times they have the souls of two brothers with in them not just Chakra confirmed by naruto databook 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the reason naruto and Sasuk never ended up together is simple the so called coding you claim doesn't exist
Its simply you who has convinced yourself that your Romantic headcannon is officialy canon
Kishimoto has had naruto refer to Sasuke has his brother since naruto part 1 he had naruto tell itachi he was more of a brother to Sasuke than himself has naruto tell sarada that family isn't just blood related while flashbacking himself saving Sasuke in naruto gaiden and then proceeded to make them the reincarnates of actual brothers
Kishimoto never intended for naruto and Sasuke relationship to be interepted as romantic accept that fact

Kaguya Ôtsutsuki as a character doesn't bother me much. She's kind of bland, I'm not gonna lie. But I like her design, her techniques are powerful enough, and she has a background. And she even has an objective quite basic but still... it exists. The problem isn't the character itself, but when you put her in the context of Naruto...
There are two things that bother me about her... first, she isn't needed for the ending (except for Boruto obviously) and her arrival makes Madara look so stupid. I promise it's not an anti Madara post. Bear with me. Well, the two things are very much connected, in fact.
I'm going to state the obvious, but Madara is everything the final big boss is supposed to be and have. He's teased since the beginning with the first battle of Sasuke and Naruto in the valley of the end. Madara and Hashirama statues are "watching" the figth, then Kakashi draws the parallel between Madara/Hashirama and our two protagonists. After the time skip, we have Kurama warning Sasuke and mentioning Madara. He clearly hates Madara and it makes you wonder why. He must be very dangerous. Then you have Itachi talking about "Madara" helping him in the massacre of his clan. Obito pretending to be Madara, everyone being quite afraid of him (you have Onoki who knew him). Minato warning Naruto about Tobi/Obito/fake Madara. Well, everyone knew (as watchers/readers) that Tobi wasn't Madara, but everyting there builds for Madara to come. And it's very important in a work. At the very end, you have to see Madara. That's it. He's supposed to be the main antagonist. Not to mention he's the one manipulating Obito and by extension Nagato. Everything started with him and it says everything you need.
Now about the character itself. How can I say it ? Madara is so fucking charismatic and badass. He's powerful, kind of insane, threatening. The war really starts when he appears. (In my personnal opinion, I found the war arc before his arrival quite boring). He almost killed all of the kages, he makes threats and you know it's not for nothing. We're shown how powerful he is.
Then, Madara has a plan, an objective. He knows what he wants and doesn't really care about what the others think of him. And even, I might add that Hagoromo if he was really needed... he could have easily appeared just to help Naruto and Sasuke to fight Madara. I mean they were both on the verge of death because of him. It's not like giving them a last power up there would be weird. That's why I find Kaguya useless.
Madara was enough. He was dangerous enough. He was already a challenge. He was already a wonderful "big boss" if I can say it. He has a very interesting background with powerful and scaring techniques. Naruto and Sasuke had a hard time dealing with him. Kaguya isn't needed simply because Madara exists.
I mean Kaguya really comes from nowhere. She's introduced at the last minute. There's no build on. She doesn't feel like she fits in the story. I believe there were so many other ways to introduce her later if Boruto was really supposed to be done. But hey that's for another say.
So back to Madara who looks stupid. Actually, it's not Kaguya who makes him look stupid, but Zetsu who did everything for his mother.
Why does he look stupid when you learn everything ? Because everything you were told about Madara until then was a lie. Madara being the "master mind" of the war ? Lie. Madara manipulating others ? That's still true, but he was himself manipulated by another character who is very boring in my opinion. Don't you feel annoyed to see all of these characters being manipulated ? You have Nagato (even if he was following his own plan) then Obito and now Madara... it's not even his plan anymore, it was Zetsu's plan. Zetsu was said to be loyal to Madara, then two minutes later, we are told the contrary. Madara was trying to be as powerful as Hagoromo... but well, Kaguya is even more powerfull. Kaguya being more powerful is not a problem either. It just comes with the whole package "everything you were told about Madara is mostly wrong".
You know what proves even more than she wasn't needed in the manga ? That everything happens after they seal her is not even impacted by it. Madara and Hashirama making "peace", the kages leaving in believing in a better future thanks to Naruto and Sasuke, Naruto saying goodbye to Minato, Sasuke revealing his real plan, the fight between Naruto and Sasuke at the valley of end... everything could have happened even if Madara was the final antagonist and "villain".
I'm totally going to do a post about the way I would have introduced Kaguya later (in another manga). Like I said, she could have easily appeared later if Boruto was going to happen.

You forgot about Indra. You cannot look up his art without coming across sakura stans shipping him with her or making his wife look like her XD Btw I think Madara might not be into girls at all but even if he was he would never glance at Sakura. XD
Hi, I saw that they also ship Sakura with Indra which also gives me the same reaction as yours. The situation is the same just like with Uchiha boys, Indra would not even notice her. From Indra's line comes Uchiha clan which values power and skills. It was stated that Indra valued power as the most important thing. That is why he was angry with his father for choosing weaker Ashura over him. He started conflict with his younger brother because of this. Ashura was stronger than Sakura could ever be but Indra still wanted to fight him. He considered him not worthy because of his lack of skills so if his brother was not enough in his eyes then such a weak woman like Sakura would be even more pathetic.
Tumblr media
When it comes to making Indra's wife looking like Sakura it just shows how they copy Narusasu dynamic. Naruto and Sasuke are incarnations of Indra and Ashura, The Sun and The Moon. They will always find each other in every lifetime. They want Sakura to also be incarnation of Indra's wife but right now with Sasuke. They do not have any romantic canon material so they cope with their ship in such way. They deep down just wish to have as many material as Sasunaru has because the trope with incarnation, being the Sun to The Moon is romantic in nature. They know this and ultimately they envy it and copy it. Indra's wife probably had black hair considering that almost every member of Uchiha clan have them even during times of Madara. Black hair will almost always dominate brown hair of Indra's.
Tumblr media
Lastly, I just think that Madara did not care about women at all. He considered them weak and in turn ugly. He was attracted to power and he probably knew that women cannot achieve such great power like him or Hashirama. Tsunade is strong but he considered her weak and he compared her to Hashirama. He also compared many other characters to him during the war. Simply, there was no woman worthy for him to marry and ultimately it was not his priority. I also do not think that he would want a woman on the same level of power as him or stronger. It would rip his ego apart that is why even if Hashirama was a woman it would not end well. He would be jealous and angry. It just seems that Madara was only attracted to one man and it was Hashirama. I can even say that to some degree he was obsessed with him.

Honestly... I did not expect so many biblical references in Naruto... I was simply watching the anime and in the middle of this epic battle I am suddenly confronted with the story of Eve eating the damn apple in the garden of Eden?
I am not a theology student, so I don't know much about the theological value or theological interpretations... but I know about the philosophical implications in this story, especially from a feminist viewpoint. And really, I feel as if Kishimoto is trying to pull all possible strings here. As if he is begging for a deep feminist discussion of his writing.
And I am not even looking into the logic of this sudden reveal or how it fits into the established world that he had built up 'til this point. Or how he introduced this to the reader/viewer

Seems like this has sadly become more of a trend on twitter lately with people believing kaguya was planed.
What do you make of the claims that kaguya made thematic sense as the final villian instead of madara?
Bullshit. The fact that Kishi expressed in various interviews that he didn't want to continue this story past the Naruto & Sasuke battle tells you everything you need to know.
You know what they did? They went back at the end of pt. 1 and made out of teh Kaguya clan an entire storyline so they can continue with the sequel. But to not make it too obvious, they changed and had Kaguya actually be from the Otsutuski clan, so that they deceive people on the fact that they ripped off an original idea (the Kaguya clan, Kimmimaro's clan) from the storyline to do what they wanted to do with the kids gen, lol.
But she was never in the original plans. The way the story was built initially tells you that.
There was NO foreshadow for Kaguya and the initial Kaguya clan had nothing in common with this Kaguya. But to make it as they did still, they had Kaguya have the ash bone thing so you can make the parallel between Kimimaro's kekke genkai & hers.
They tried to tie it somehow and make it legit, but as I said, the way the story mechanics were built, you can see that Kaguya was never planned more made sense as the final villain instead of Madara.
Madara has always been intended as the final villain given that he was foreshadowed from early days and was still the main point of attraction thematic wise in the story & the plot between Naruto & Sasuke, which was basically the main "dish".
The people that say that are probably the people who started reading the story AFTER its end so they have the confirmation bias because they saw how the story ended, they weren't there from the inception and went through the slow burn 15 years of serialization to be able to actually dissect the story left & right and get to know its mechanics where it is clearly shown to one that as I said, Kaguya was never in the books.

Sakura fans out there shipping their self insert with Indra and Ashura Otsutsuki LMAO 🤣 Why would the otsutsukis bother about that No Clan girl. I doubt they even know about her existence😂 I bet this all started after Toneri showed interest in Hinata. They think Otsutsukis will go crazy for Sakura too. They literally have no shame in shipping her with dead Ancestors but can't even tolerate Hinata being shipped with her CANON husband.
Exactly. It’s already a stretch to ship her with every Uchiha just because she’s *married* to one. Like can you imagine Hinata being shipped with every Uzumaki like Nagato, Mito and Kushina? Like seriously why do they always set Sakura up like this???? Madara didn’t give af about her in canon but he would be jealous of Sasuke marrying her????
Plus most likely civilians and ninjas didn’t live together back then and the clans were probably very strict about who future clan heads marry so they’d naturally marry women from STRONG clans. If anything it would be beneath them to marry Sakura because it can jeopardize the clans future (which they would be correct since Sarada needs glasses)
Just like with the series, Sakura stans can’t see beyond the shallow surface, yes, Mito and Kushina and many other women have been described as “beautiful” in the series BUT beneath that beauty is STRENGTH whether through hard work or blood which Sakura does neither. Even Toneri didn’t go after Hinata JUST for beauty, she’s a HYUGA and a PRINCESS.
I just realized one title Sakura will never have that Tsunade has is “Princess” 🤭

A bit of old for the brand new you
So I ended up devouring My Happy Marriage (the anime) in like a few hours. I can't find the OVA anywhere so there aren't that many mentions to it in this. But Izumi is teaching Hinata instead of Itachi taking the sister role and from my watching of it, the cousin was more focused on his role in the family and what it meant to him rather than the person he was supposed to be watching over's happiness, since it was her grandfather who ended up letting her know what happened to her fiancee, unless I somehow remembered that wrong. Anyway, all that to say, we got this. Enjoy.
@sasuhinamonth
Beginnings & Ends | Inicios y Finales
New & Old | Nuevo y Viejo
Days at the Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit were quite after Burial Grounds case and the actions of the former Emperor. Emperor Sai had sent apology after apology for his father’s actions, even after giving them in person to Hinata. The expensive gifts were kindly accepted but Hinata had a hard enough time accepting gifts from him, her fiancée. Accepting gifts from the emperor made her head spin.
Sasuke couldn’t complain about the Emperor taking it upon himself to clean up the mess his father made. It meant all he had to do was finish his paperwork, train the recruits, attend meetings and he’d finally be allowed to leave to meet Hinata in time for dinner.
“Hey Sasuke!”
Looking up through his eyebrows, he glared as Naruto burst into the room, the damned annoying smile on his face. It dropped once he saw he was being glared out and let out an awkward chuckle when he realised, he went too far.
“I have someone to see you.” he moved out of the way, and Sasuke felt his glare drop at the sight of blue highlighted hair and lavender eyes.
“Hinata.” He said, standing up and moving around the desk as Hinata ducked her head as she walked in, Naruto shooting a teasing look as he closed the door behind her. “I thought you had lessons with Izumi.”
“Shizune had to leave early before her vacation and we ended up making, well…” she lifted a covered bento box, slightly larger than she’d normally bring him. “We went a little overboard. I thought since Izumi is heading back home to check in with Sarada and your family, we wouldn’t be able to finish everything before it went bad. I wasn’t sure when you’d be home…I hope it’s no trouble.”
He gave his fiancée a soft smile. she was the only one who could make him smile like this. “Of course not. I’m so happy to see you. you got here safely?”
Hinata nodded. “Shisui drove me. He still doesn’t trust Neji-nii-san.”
To be fair, Sasuke didn’t trust him either. Hinata’s grandfather was the one to let Hinata leave the Hyuuga compound. If it had been up to Neji, she’d still be there, better without the assault of her own powers, but alone. Sasuke disliked him more when Hinata mentioned Neji considered himself to be the one Hinata was supposed to marry if the Hyuuga’s kept with tradition. He was getting really annoyed with so many people just assuming he and Hinata were people who could be picked apart and separated. The only one he wanted was Hinata. He thought the fact that he destroyed the Otsutsuki home was proof of what would happen to those who separated them without Hinata saying it was what she wanted.
“Have you eaten yet? we can share. Shisui would appreciate the time on the training ground.”
Hinata’s cheeks flushed as she nodded. “I’d love to.”
After sending Naruto to look after the recruits’ and warning Shisui to not break most of them in practise, he lead Hinata to the back of the building. There was a small garden, mainly to give everyone a place to take a break since they couldn’t leave the compound while on duty unless instructed. There wasn’t a cherry blossom tree like the one Hinata’s grandfather sent to be planted on their property - a sapling from the one on the Hyuuga compound – but Hinata smiled up at the weeping willow. A bench behind the branches was their seating place and Sasuke couldn’t help but smile at the fact that Hinata moved close to him. She was still as shy as ever, but as their bond deepened and they became more open with each other, she was the one to start inciting the touches.
God, he revelled in being the one lucky to accept those touches.
“We only have one pair of chopsticks.” She realised.
“Then I guess I’ll have to feed you.”
The blush on her face was worth it. Hinata insisted to be the one to feed him, telling him about her day with the cooking and cleaning fest she and Shizune got into with the old housekeeper about to leave for the week, how Izumi came by to give her homework for learning how to be the wife of the head of a house, how her grandfather came by with books about the Hyuuga Clan, offers to take Neji back still on his lips. Tempting as it was to get Sasuke to insist, she say yes, fact of the matter was, whenever Hinata forgot her protective charm, she was safe with Neji around. He might not like her cousin, but at least he was good at his job.
“I don’t know what to do with all my free time.” Hinata said, feeding Sasuke the last tomato from the salad.
“You could go shopping.” Sasuke suggested, knowing the answer to that already.
“Oh, I couldn’t! with what the Emperor sent us, there’s no need!”
While Sasuke was happy Hinata wasn’t like the other possible brides who wanted to spend all his money, he wished Hinata would just spoil herself sometimes. Considering the mess their life had been not that long ago, he just wanted her to buy something as a gift to herself.
As Hinata took her last bite of food, Sasuke noticed there was a slight tear in the kimono she was wearing. It was the one she wore the most, so it wasn’t surprising. He was about to bring it up when he remembered her first few days at the house, how she spent time inside her room just sewing the tears in the only kimono’s she had before Sasuke could get her new ones. She’d just spend the time fixing the tears instead of considering buying something new.
“I have a day off coming up, how about you try and finish Izumi’s homework tomorrow and we can spend the day together.” he suggested. He was sure he’d be forgiven the small lie, assuming he didn’t bump into Neji would go blabbing the second he could.
That’s when it hit him, the idea. He just hoped it worked out.

“Lord Uchiha. It’s a pleasure to see you again. What can I do for you?” Hinata’s grandfather asked.
Sasuke nodded to the maid who put down the cups of tea before she bowed and left the room. “I have a favour to ask, if that’s all right.”
“Is Hinata alright?”
“She’s fine. it’s for her actually. I’m sure you know that Hinata takes gifts she’s been given very carefully.”
Her grandfather nodded. “Yes. It did pain me to keep her kimono away from her. The cherry blossom one, it was a gift from you, yes?”
“It was the one that kept drawing her attention when we went to the shop yes. I know now it was because it reminded her of her mother’s tree. She lost so much of her mother; I know she treasures anything of hers she can keep. I know after Hinata’s mother married her father, you cut off contact. I’m just curious if you got rid of anything belonging to her.”
Hinata’s grandfather seemed surprised by the question. “I’ll admit I was tempted, but no. there somewhere in storage, but they were items that didn’t fit her anymore. Did you want to give them to Hinata?”
Sasuke nodded. “when she first moved in to the house, she spent time in her room just mending her kimonos. Other woman wouldn’t have done that and as a result, she won’t ask for anything new. One of the kimonos I had gotten her has a rip in it and instead of getting her a new one she won’t ask for, I thought perhaps she’d prefer something her mother owned.”
Hinata’s grandfather smiled at him. “I hope you know, the only reason I disapproved of you was because of your family’s strength and what it would mean when the two of you would give me great grandchildren. I’m sure Hinata’s mother would approve of you.”

“Hinata?”
Lavender eyes looked up at him as she finished gathering the dirty items from breakfast. He’d been later than usual because he needed to sneak into Hinata’s room, but he distracted her questions by asking where she wanted to go on their outing.
“In your bedroom, I left something for you. if you’d like, I’d love to see you in it.”
Hinata looked surprised but nodded none the less. He got dressed and waited in the genkan for Hinata, keeping himself busy by trying to tie the kumihimo tightly in his hair. Hinata was better at him than he was and as much as he enjoyed the tradition of Hinata tying it for him, he wanted to see her in the kimono more.
Soft footsteps signalled his fiancée’s approach and he turned, ready to ask if she like it, stopping when he spotted her glassy eyes.
“Hinata?”
“They’re happy tears.” She said wiping her eyes. “I saw this, in a photo in the room I stayed in at the Hyuuga mansion. I never, I…how did you do this?”
Using his own fingers to wipe away the tears, Sasuke took in the pink Gentiana flowers against the purple fabric. While the cherry blossoms had a special meaning to Hinata, he preferred her in the purple of this kimono. “I asked your grandfather if there were any old kimonos of your mother. I know you didn’t get the chance to wear the ones your mother brought with her or bought because of your stepmother. You had a tear in the kimono you wore when you came to visit me at work. You have such a hard time accepting gifts, I thought you couldn’t say no to this one.”
She laughed, sending his heart into a spin. “I love it. thank you.” she brushed away her tears, flattening her bangs and smiling up at him. “I’m ready. Shall we?”
He was curious to know how she’d react when she found out there were more kimonos of her mother’s they’d been able to find. Oh well, more chances to get her to accept gifts.

(I’m starting to wish Sumire had never been included in the manga. When she first showed up, I was excited, since an artificial jinchuuriki could have been an interesting foil to Boruto and Kawaki’s artificial Otsutsuki status. Instead Sumire’s been reduced to color commentary)
I am neutral about Sumire but I am very curious of what do you mean by Sumire being artificial jinchuriki? Could you explain more?
We know that Himawari is a biju aka kyubi herself since kurama is reborn inside her not sealed so it's not like Naruto's case.
While Sumire is owning Nue through Good Tenno seal as Mitsuki said the only way to stop Nue is killing the user himself which was Sumire in first arc.
Nue is like Anti Otsutsuki weapon since it eats chakra to live instead of being chakra battery pool then Nue is an interesting counter to Otsutsuki power akin to Kaguya's plan to battle against entire clan.
Either Sumire's jutsu including Nue on her profile back then are kept for later events or they already had another plans involving Akebi stuff given her being Amado's apprentice.
I meant it in the sense that her body is permanently linked to a giant, volatile creature to make her a living weapon. In the anime, she was basically supposed to be Rin 2.0, sneaking the beast into the village for it to then wreak havoc. The main difference is that Sumire was fully on board with the suicide bombing plan until she got talk-no-jutsued.
At the very least, she and Boruto should have had a chat about what it’s like to be a dormant human bomb, always having to be cautious so you don’t destroy everything you love. They both had to make sacrifices to keep themselves under control (Sumire retiring from field work, Boruto taking experimental meds and being constantly monitored). But other than a mention in the bio, there’s been no mention of Nue. I feel like if the creators were saving him for later, they would have dropped Nue’s name in dialogue pre-timeskip for the sake of foreshadowing.
It just seems like a waste to me.
