people straight up forget patronus lore and it's something that bothers me sm... it's supposed to be this super meaningful spell and ppl turned it into a soulmate test

If complementary Patronuses are such a thing, and an important one apparently, why did no one think that Tonks and Luna (as an adult) had matching Patronuses and thus were "meant" to be together?

Tonks’ Patronus was a jackrabbit, which is a type of hare, and Luna’s Patronus was a hare too. Give a few more years and there, perfect match. Supposedly.

As a second point though, Tonks’ Patronus changed to match Lupin’s. So Patronuses that seem to be originally complementary do not stand against the manifestation of pure, true love, which is a Patronus changing to match another’s. Yes, it does make me think of how the Patronuses for Snily are way more meaningful and indicative of true love than what we got with Lames.

As someone who knows squat about faery lore, explain this to me. Aren’t faeries supposed to be otherworldly? Why do they have gender roles when they should be genderless or gender fluid? There shouldn’t be sexism either, let alone misogyny. If females are considered ‘brooding mare’, shouldn’t they be revered since they worship Mother for birthing their lands? How exactly is being queer wrong when literally anything is possible in their world and that’s utterly stupid when genders don’t even exist.

Why are they monogamous when they should be having scandalous relations with everyone? If they were all incest-y enough, Cassian sleeping with Morrigan and then calling her his sister would be less appalling.

How is magic orgy in Spring lands frowned upon when everyone should be designing costumes to outdo the other? I know Eris and Rhysand have a running tally, but it is Helion who always wins.

Species-hierarchy makes sense, but shouldn’t it be the other way around? Creatures with non-human features should be considered superior because they are attuned to their true nature and are tapped into land magic better, especially since they enslaved humans for ages. By that standard, shouldn’t Tamlin be considered the most powerful because of his beast form and shape-shifting? Why do faeries live by human standards and concepts? If anything, shouldn’t they look down on mortals for being bound by the ‘rules dictated by the flesh’?

These books are romantasy. . .but where is the fantasy though?

heard it was friday the 13th! here’s anti-kira :) the anti fairywinkle-anti-cosma family’s head butler. the opposite of his fairy counterpart, anti-kira is quiet, obedient, and doesn’t want to question any sort of authority over him by his lord — no matter how absurd they may be (well, anti-fairy world is a lawless land, so it's not like there's anything revolutionary he needs to be fighting for...)

like kira was to peri when he was a kid, anti-kira was some sort of babysitter for irep, though he’s more like an annoying older advisor instead of a quirky mentor like kira. like peri to kira, irep doesn’t like him. the reason's the opposite of peri’s — he’s a worrywart that fusses over irep’s wellbeing and disaster scenarios to the point it gets aggravating. coupled with his obedient nature, if not standing besides anti-cosmo, anti-kira is constantly seen running around the castle doing tasks, usually for his lord's evil, world domination plans.

I'm not a huge fan of Jedi Kryptonite suddenly starting to show up everywhere. It feels lazy, like the only way you can make your particular bad guy seem powerful and the Jedi less so is to introduce a random Kryptonite that just makes the Jedi incapable of fighting at their normal level. If the only way you can conceive of your bad guy being scary is to neuter the Jedi, maybe you're just not that good of a writer. Food for thought.

whenever i see people arguing about why aiura is better for saiki than teruhashi, its always literally just "aiura knows about his powers so situation a, b, and c are different therefore he cares about her more and shes better for him" which is stupid because 1. saiki did not choose to tell her about his powers, he didnt do it because he was more comfortable with her or whatever people think, he was forced to do it because he had to save yumeharas life... so her knowing about his powers alone is NOT a dunk on teruhashi or his other friends. and 2. saiki is PLANNING on telling teruhashi and his other friends about his powers, he WANTS to. he isnt being forced to, he WANTS to. so any differences in their relationships that are purely due to knowledge or lack of knowledge about his powers will not only cease to exist pretty soon, but he was FORCED to get accustomed to them in the first place.

Solavellan is the most obnoxious pairing I know.

It ruins both Solas as an interesting antagonist, and the Inquisitor as a protagonist.

And ends a fifteen year (or in world centuries) old story about the source of magic, betrayal, corruption, rebellion, titans, and the beginning and ending of the world we know

...... as a fucking heterosexual love story.

There's no redemption, because that would take time. They just drag the Inquisitor down with Solas.

I wish writers would have the balls to actually see their original vision through sometimes instead of letting fans dictate what the characters should do next.
