I don't want to sound negative all the time, but goddamn, 2023 has been nothing bad news for (real) Damian’s fans right and left, from Gunn doing a live-action movie to this?
Injustice especially was already horrible for Damian and it took so many years for Damian’s reputation to recover from it, now you want to add Jon to it? The same Jon whose mere existence on normal days has resulted in Damian being reduced to a shallow “mean rich boy” archetype and was the reason they almost turned him into the DCU's main villain so that Jon would have someone to fight against?
You might as well include Teen Titans: Rebirth/the G5 plan and you will have the unholy trio of ruining Damian's characterization right here.
one egregious thing the game of thrones show misses out on is that the stark kids are CONSTANTLY thinking abt each other!! there isn’t like a single POV chapter from any of them where they don’t long for their siblings!! Jon wants to have a son and name him Robb!! Bran wants to be a bird so him and his siblings can live in a nest together!! Sansa prays for her siblings every night and makes the Winterfell castle and then gets upset bc there’s no one to throw snow at!! Needle IS Jon!! Arya’s list is her own prayer for her siblings, she doesn’t care that Joffrey is dead bc Robb is too!! Every single one of them believes that their big brother will come to save them!! there’s sm love and tenderness there and GOT missed out on lots of it bc it tries too hard for the grimdark angle without realising that the center of the stark’s story is their love for each other. anyways.
First of all, Jon Bernthal has liked tons of pro-Israel propaganda posts on twitter
He signed a letter to Biden in support of Israel like many other celebrities
He never signed the letter calling for a ceasefire. I think that says enough that he still holds zionist views.
He platformed an ex idf soldier on his podcast. Giving people who have killed Palestinians and committed Genocide a safe place.
Jon Bernthal’s sister in law (his brothers wife) is Sheryl Sandberg, a billionaire who runs multiple technology companies.
She has spread a lot of misinformation about Hamas. Shes very pro-israel
After all of this, hes stayed silent on the massacres that has occured in Gaza. Hes stayed silent as children have been bombed and are currently being starved. Over 40,000 innocent lives, mostly women and children have been taken, but he doesnt hesitate to stay silent.
If you care about this then you will stop supporting Jon even if he plays ur favourite character. I LOVED his ver of Frank Castle. But i cant stand by him with his complicit in genocide while i see innocent lives being taken.
In the past month he hasnt liked any pro-israel content, most likely because he saw the amount of support Palestinians are getting and that celebs r being outed. Or his team has told him to stop. I dont believe hes changed his views.
In 2022 he followed the official Israel account on twitter but has since unfollowed it.
If ur gonna continue supporting Jon then block me. U disgust me if you do and you cant go around cancelling celebs like Noah Schnapp because then ur just a hypocrite. If ur against zionism then ull stop being fans of every zionist celeb.
This isnt the only disgusting thing hes done, he platformed an abuser on his podcast. Giving people like them a safe place. Most of the ppl he has on his podcast r men, particularly ex cops and military. Hardly any women. Dude reeks of blue lives matter.
Update: 10/09/24
He had Sean Penn on his podcast. A known abuser who got a felony got domestic assault against Madonna when they were married. Jon calls him his hero in a clip on youtube. In that same clip Sean praises Jon for having Shia Labouf on his podcast, another violent woman abuser.
Sansa and Jeyne are the only people to call Arya ugly.
Meanwhile Ned, Jon, Gendry, Lady Smallwood, and the kindly man have all commented on her beauty, but this fandom ignores it in favor of two middle-school-aged mean girls who have to put Arya down to feel good about themselves.
Literally aside from Stephanie and Alfred, Damian doesn’t benefits from being associated or interacting with any white character, like at all.
Bruce? They make Damian be a brat/problem child just to hype Bruce up as a good parent for tolerating him and Damian gets nothing good in return from him. Tim? They belittle Damian’s abilities and connection to being Robin just to hype Tim as the best Robin compared to this “ violent feral child” and Damian gets nothing good in return from him, Jon? They portray Damian as the rough/rude mean kid to highlight how wholesome and well-brought Jon is compared to him and Damian gets nothing good in return from him, Flatline (or any other white girl)? They turned Damian into a dumb incapable generic straight teen character to have OOC romance with her just so that this newly-created OC can stay relevant and Damian gets nothing good in return from her.
I think its funny that technically Jon has "the blood of Old Valyria" in him as well. But if you told him that as if it meant something, you know Jon would dismiss it entierly as unimportant, and that he does not give a single shit about it. Being Valyrian is so integral to someone like Danaerys or really any mainstream Targaryeans identity.
Then you have Jon Snow whose just like "I have things to do, I don't care" literally anytime something tries to convince Jon hes special. He's the opposite of everything Valyrians stand for and it would be so funny if hes the only one with Targaryean blood to survive, so that the last living relic of the ancient Valyrian Freehold is stuck inside the most grouchy, anti prophecy Northerner known to man.
the superfam tag is just batfam 2.0 tag. where are the women??? where are the men of colour??? why is it only clark, kon and jon??? and why are they always in the presence of a bat??? WHY???
(i love the boys, don’t get me wrong. clark is literally my second all-time favourite character. but the superfam is more than three white dudes.)
cassian telling Nesta to “try harder” less than a year after her father died is hilarious considering that he’s still not over being a bastard 500+ years later. how about you “try harder” to not have a massive inferiority complex.
I think DC should go back to having random characters having beef with each other for no real reason that was honestly so hilarious
I also volunteer that they have Tim Drake have an inexplicable one-sided beef with Jon Kent and I don't have a reason for this except that it'd be funny to me specifically
like let's get some bi4bi hostility up in here yk?
sad to see jon fans and dany fans fighting again :( game of thrones did them both dirty. they turned her into a villain and him into a traitor. they killed her and they made him useless. they were both ooc so I don't blame them for their actions, but I see some parts of the fandom still do. I'm very happy to see hotd vindicating dany and I hope some kind of retcon is coming, but I don't want to see this become a new reason to shit on jon. let's not pretend his ending didn't suck. he, too, deserved better than killing the woman he loved after barely contributing to the war that was central to his storyline from day one. I would like to see him acknowledged as a targaryen too and a vital part of the war for the dawn, as he should have been. ofc this show is about a targaryen queen and dany is THE targaryen queen so it makes sense they want to do right by her first and foremost, but... yeah. would be nice to get something about both of them someday.
Older Jon Kent could never ammount to younger Jon Kent’s angst and confusion. He could never hold the same weight. The ammount that Jon had struggled with being half human and half kryptonian, not feel like he belonged with either. Feeling unsure of himself, it all felt so raw.
Younger Jon Kent wanted to take authority of who he was and how he used his abilities.
Younger Jon Kent had so many themes and moments that made me really feel for him and become attached to him. He saw the S symbol as something that didn’t define him but brought together his family, his home.
So much of this was lost after the age up. So many parallels to mixed children (like myself) trying to find somewhere they belonged. Now Jon Kent is just so sure of “Superman” so sure of Journalism instead of looking into to science <- younger Jon Kent was a science nerd or creating a personality of his own, bringing in themes that only his character could detail.
