Why don’t you like Darren Criss? Curious, because I like him! :)

It’s just a vibe I’m afraid! There’s no exact ‘decent’ reason, he’s not a raging bigot or a terrible guy, there’s just a few nitpicky smaller reasons why I don’t like him.

I don’t like Blaine, like at all, except for in season 2 and even then he’s on thin ice. I like his voice but that’s kinda it.

He’s besties with Lea Michele and we all know how I, and most of the general public, feel about her.

I’ve heard a few times he’s said a few racist things. I have no proof of this so this isn’t something I’m sure of, I’ve just seen it being claimed in passing on the internet. This doesn’t mean it’s 100% true, and I sure hope it’s not cause I know lots of people look up to him, but because I already have a dislike for him there’s just a bad taste in my mouth after hearing that.

I think the name he and his wife chose for his daughter is kinda ridiculous, and it’s giving Kardashian vibes.

Can you share your Glee knowledge, please? When Glee was airing who were the most popular characters? Was Rachel popular as a female lead? I know Kurt was popular, but was he more in TOP 10 or TOP 3 in popularity? Was Blaine very popular? I read he was the most popular character, someone else said it is not true. Was Santana very popular or she is more popular now? Who is more, and who is less, popular than before?

So - I'm going to be honest with you, Nonny, this isn't an easy question to answer. Partly - because when I got into Glee fandom, I zeroed in on Kurt and Blaine and didn't spend a whole lot of time in spaces that weren't devoted to them, and partly because the Glee fandom had such a universally huge appeal, it's kind of hard to track how people felt about it.

I think that near the beginning of the show Kurt was easily one of the most popular characters (if not the most popular). But General Fandom had spaces for everyone, and I think you could easily find pockets of fandoms for every character on the show. I mean even Will/Emma had a following. I really can't tell you /how/ popular each character was in the early days. It's a shame that Glee Forum was taken down -- you could have gone there and seen who had the longest threads.

The thing, also, that became bigger than the character itself was shipping. I think that people found their ship and stayed on it -- more so than the characters individually. Or at least where I ended up most of the time. For example -- I'm not really sure how much Rachel was liked? (I know that Lea was divisive even then -- and a lot of people, including the media, wasn't that big a fan of hers.) But Finchel was a relatively popular ship, as was Faberry.

In the same vein as most popular - it's hard to say who was the most unpopular. Disregarding shipping wars - I'd say that Puck was probably the least talked about? (Of the main cast) But he still had a decent number of fans.

As for Santana -- I don't know that she became that popular until her coming out story starting in the second half of season 2. She and Brittany had a small (but rather vocal) fan base that grew during the middle of the show's run. Brittana became a legit thing because of them -- and I think Brittana stayed a couple because of the vocal fan base. I don't know if Brittana fans are larger in number now? But I think they're the most vocal and visible now on social media -- namely TikTok, I believe.

I do know, that out of F/F ships -- Faberry was the most popular. I can't tell you why -- what it was about Rachel/Quinn that the fans enjoyed more so than the actual F/F ship on the show, but it was a huge thing. It could be the tropes of enemies to lovers combined with good girl/bad girl? It could be that Brittany and Santana were less developed, and also mean girls? I have no idea.

Then there's Blaine. And the stuff about Blaine is (fascinatingly) complex, so the rest of this is going under a cut.

The thing about Blaine comes down to the popularity of Kurt -- and how fandom was working at the time. I can't understate how popular Kurt was the first couple of years -- and how much shipping was also a huge factor in online fandom.

At the time, Kurt was shipped with everyone - Puck, Mike, Karofsky, Sam, everyone. And then Blaine came along.

Now you have to keep in mind -- Darren Criss came on board with a fandom of his own. Which actually annoyed people, so you already have a divide with the character from the beginning.

The Blaine and the Warblers story line was generally liked -- among the General Audience, and critics, and even in fandom Klaine was always the most popular of the Kurt ships.

But then the great Kurt fandom divide happened -- you had;

A) Kurt Stans - who liked Kurt and foremost, and the ones who kept this label the longest got cranky when shipping took precedent. They eventually turned into the leaders of the lol!Blaine/Darren Criss stuff -- and were pretty much anti-Blaine everything, but that really picked up around Season 4 (which I'll talk about in a second.)

B) Other Kurt Ship fans - look, Kurt/Karofsky and Kurt/Sam were huge back in Season 2. The shipping wars were huge, and I still have stories.... lol

C) Klaine fans - which were by far the biggest group. There was also a subsection who, unfortunately, became the tinhatters.

D) Blaine Stans - who started out mostly being Darren Criss fans that came into the show through him.

So, Blaine was popular, but also divisive because there were people who didn't like him, didn't want him with Kurt, etc, etc.

Season 3 was kind of rough for everyone -- the General Audience stopped watching, the story lines were not great, and also spread too thin among the big cast of characters, and the Media was officially over it.

And then Season 4 happened. The biggest thing that made Blaine a divisive character was the cheating. The Better Boyfriend Olympics had started in Season 3, but ooff, Season 4 everyone was pushed to either the Kurt side or the Blaine side. And if you remained a Klainer -- you were a 12yo, or a tinhatter. (Omg, this time was the worst.) Blaine also got a lot more screen time in Season 4 -- where I do think he got more people who enjoyed his story more than Kurt's. But, as I said, I think most of the GA was gone by then, and the fandoms between Kurt and Blaine were fairly equal and war-ing with each other. Constantly.

By the time Seasons 5 and 6 came around, I think in fandom, things were more or less the same - the BBO never really stopped. You had Kurt fans against Blaine fans. I think, though, they were so entwined with each other, though, if you asked an outside, they'd be of equal-ish popularity. Kurt, because he was an original character, and the most fleshed out, I think still had the upper hand in popularity, but idk, Blaine had/has his own hefty group of fans, too.

Also, in years since, Chris has faded from the public view, and Darren hasn't - so I feel like I see more Blaine fans around then Kurt fans.

I will say - that by the end of the run, I found my group of elders, who enjoyed both (even if some had preference over one actor over the other) and have stayed in my lane for the most part.

Anyway, I don't know if that answers your question (I didn't really get into the nuances of each time period) but that's the general break down. I guess the tl;dr answer is that, yes Blaine was a popular character, but he was also divisive.

Warner Bros. Entertainment has released the first Crisis on Infinite Earths trailer for the upcoming animated three-part event. DC Comics and Warner Bros. animated movie fans have one more thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving: A new trailer for the 2024 movie Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earth — Part One has arrived online. Part of a trilogy, the movie is based on the famous 1985-86 comic book series by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. In the trailer, DC’s heroes are brought by a character called the Monitor. The Monitor explains that the heroes exist in a multiverse, and we see Superman with an older version of himself from a parallel world. He also tells Supergirl that she is needed to stop their world from being erased from existence. The official synopsis reads: “Death is coming. Worse than death: oblivion. Not just for our Earth, but for everyone, everywhere, in every universe! Against this ultimate destruction, the mysterious Monitor has gathered the greatest team of Super Heroes ever assembled. 1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?

For as long as I can remember, I never saw myself doing anything that wasn’t related to music, whether it was singing, dancing, playing an instrument, anything. My mom says I was much better at dancing long before I got walking right! Everything I have ever at done, at school, at Dalton, McKinley, and later on at NYU, where now I get to teach what I love the most, I wanted it to be about that, and in the end that’s what I’m doing. I know my child self would approve, and be very happy about what my life is right now. I’d go as far as thinking that he would be saying “see? Told you it would pay up to bug everyone at home singing and dancing all the time!”

  2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well. 

There was a time when I thought my biggest achievement was being able to stand up for myself back on those days where I was bullied in such a traumatizing way. To stand up for who I was, for what I was, and not being afraid to say it out loud. I remember even fighting my parents when they decided to transfer me to Dalton, so I could be safe, because I wanted to stay and fight all the hatred and all the things that happened to me. In the end, that transfer didn’t only came as my protection, but as a brand-new chapter of my life, where I made the most amazing friends, where I fell in and out of love, where I allowed myself to dream about what my life could be someday. And that’s how everything turned out to be. But as of today, nothing makes me prouder than to be a teacher, a guide, a friendly hand for someone to hold onto when it’s needed. To be able to inspire, and tell each and everyone of my students to never stop chasing for what you want and dream of, and to never let anyone tell them they can’t do it.

  3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?

As little of spare time that I have at this moment, I want to say ‘sleep all day in’, but that would be too lame, right? Man… I don’t know- I mean, if I’d have all and any means to do anything… hop on a plane and spend a whole day at Santorini? Or any of the beaches of the Mediterranean. I love the beach. But thinking on a more realistic tone, being on a beach, any beach, doing a good swim, reading a good book, taking a short nap, and why not, enjoying some good company.

  WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Some short time after we last heard about Blaine, his relationship with Kurt started to crumble. First it was little things that kept on stirring arguments between them, but it eventually came to a point where they had to sit down and talk about if that’s how they wanted their life to be. If that was truly what their hearts, what their minds wanted. And even if love was never an issue, they came to realize that love hadn’t been enough to maintain a marriage. They were so young when they got married, and their lives were started to get different paths, and some of them didn’t really have them meet anywhere in between. With him studying at NYU to get his Teaching degree, while also giving private guitar lessons to children, and Kurt also as busy as he was with his work, they had very little time to share, much less to try and figure out what to do to fix their marriage. And so, and in the most possible amicable way, they decided to get a divorce, but remained friendly, while trying to make up their lives as single individuals again.

  For Blaine that meant to dive headfirst in his studies, while also dipping his toes at the Dramatics Arts School, as a minor, and there he found his world, and where he knew his life truly belonged. He was able to blossom as an artist and a composer, even writing a couple of plays for the school to put on. He never gave up on his own love for playing music, so while visiting a small, local pub with some college friends called The Play Tone, one open mic night he took the stage, and that led to him having a casual moonlighting job as a singer there, which was like another dream come true. To be able to play his own music, along with some masterfully done covers, for an audience. Recently, he has learned the owner of the pub has plans to sell the place, and that has stirred another completely different line of ideas in his always working mind. Blaine Anderson as the owner of a pub? Who knows. Maybe.

  There is just one thing he had recently realized would be the cherry on the top of the cake that was his life. It has been a good while since he last seen his old friends from McKinley High. And ever since Sue Sylvester became President, with all the flashbacks and memories that event brought back, there was something that makes him miss his friends, now more than ever.

Elliott was really loved in his family they honestly really cared about one another, he liked that about his brothers and parents, but he wasn’t always one for showing all his emotions in one go, it was always a struggle for Elliott and he knew that he couldn’t always keep it hidden especially with the system. As he grew up with his brothers, he tried to find something that fit for him, he wanted his parents to be proud of his achievements but he wasn’t talented in anything besides swimming, so he kept to the water. It gave him the ability to think and let the world go for just a few moments at a time.
