Where do we go from here (~Masterlist~)
Sevikaxfem!reader (WIP)
A/N: This is my first fic, it's planned to be 5 maybe 6 chapter in total.
Summary: Picking up right after S2 Sevika finds herself numb after the fighting and exhausted at the amount of change being thrown at her immediately after. Feeling as though she has no one else in her corner she can trust she realizes she is truly alone, the last one standing. You are a citizen of Zaun that has had the weight of your late mothers wishes for you clinging to your shoulders all your life. You love the complexity of your home and people but you want so much more for it. Trying to do everything in your power you can to help improve your city using resources from above, you seem to hit a wall in your progress until you hear the news that Zaun just got a seat in the Piltover Council.
Content warning: Survivors guilt, post battle trauma, touch starved Sevika, slow burn kinda

It's also getting uploaded to my A03 (trying to figure how posting there works so formatting may be a little fucked sorry)

Utena truly said what if Eurydice knew from the start that Orpheus would look back. She knows that this is how the story must end. Orpheus remains optimistically oblivious as he trudges forward. Eurydice waits for him to look back. Look back already, as other so-called "heroes" would. He does not look back. He climbs the crags and steps of the Underworld even as Hades accosts him, leads him down and down and down back to the depths. She wants him to look back, look back and end this spiraling journey of cliffs and chasms. That is how the story ends, after all. Is he purposefully denying fate, or does he truly not know what is to come? All stories have a certain end. He does not look back. She begins to ask him to look back, to beg in woven myth to let it be done already. She throws herself off a cliff, Look back, look back, watch me fall and know that it is done. He casts his head aside as he grasps her arm in his hand. He does not look back. He reaches the precipice, where the story must end even as all else has failed. He is shown a future (a fantasy) without sorrow, without her. He does not look back. Forward, forward. He thinks himself a hero. "Look back," a blade pierces his chest, "look back at your killer. Let this story end, as it should, as it will, for you are no prince." He does not look back. Forward, forward, as rock gives way to dirt. He collapses at the maw of Hades, dewkissed grass at his fingertips. He does not look back. Eurydice steps into sunlight.
AN: Holy shit this blew up
I’d greatly appreciate it if anyone seeing this checked out the addendum as well for a more rounded perspective/a short glimpse at my full opinions on the matter that aren’t filtered through Orpheus and Eurydice. Also, to anyone seeing this who hasn’t watched Utena yet (I’ve seen y’all in the tags), welcome!

messy lil comic thinking about post-story anthy and utena/anthy’s guilt. text below cut.
“We’re safe,” “We’re safe,” “We’re safe,”
we take turns whispering in the dark of our bedroom.
But, still, you cannot stand my weight atop yours.
At night, guilt spills out my lips like bile.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,”
repetition and repentance prayed into your collarbone.
You keep saying that you do not blame me.
The worst part is that I believe you.

I'm wondering about the dichotomy between Kozue and Miki, whether it is really as... black and white, as it seems. This might devolve into incoherent rant, beware.
Kozue is presented as the one who wants to grow up and be an adult, and Miki as the naive, innocent one, who wants to remain a child. Kozue stopped playing the piano, Miki plays it obsessively trying to regain the feeling of his childhood. Kozue has sex with Touga in that same music room. When people first watch that, they interpret it as Kozue trying to push Miki away, but in actuality, going out with boys he would disapprove of is really just her way of trying to get her brother's attention. Kozue plays the piano behind Miki's back. Miki, in the end, is the one actually looking for a new shining thing, trying to find it with a new girl, while Kozue is the one who wants to have Miki back, and can't let go of him.
Kozue hurts the teacher who was creeping on Miki, but sees no problem in having sex with an adult herself. It's like she believes, that just like with his talent with the piano, that Miki has something precious about him worth protecting, something that she doesn't believe herself to have. Kozue saves the two baby birds. She claims she and her brother don't need parents, but that's the role they start playing for the little birds. Maybe she does want Miki to go and save her, wanted them to save each other, to be them against the world. Miki loses the duel when she kisses Anthy.
And Miki, he's supposed to be the naive one. The one who didn't realize the advances of his teacher, the wide eyed innocent one who doesn't know much about the "adult world". But is he? Is he really? Miki scolds Kozue for talking badly about their parents, says that they care. But, behind her back, he's upset about his father remarrying, even if he pretends to be okay with it when talking to the man. Behind her back, he's bitter, talking about how adults who tell you something is "for your own good" can't be trusted, about how he won't let some selfish adult use him. He deduces that Akio has "seduced" Touga. In the light novels, I've heard Miki and Touga have sex. It's unclear whether they did in the show, but Touga acts with him in a way that could very much be seen as flirty, and even called him "easy", so it's a possibility. The way Miki remembers the event that drove him and his sister apart has their father forcefully dragging a scared and pleading Kozue into a concert she didn't want to take part in.
So, are they really as oppositional as they may seem? Is Miki really naive, or is he similar to Utena, and he partially uses this act of naivety as a way to protect his mind from the ugly reality, especially from the parts he has little control over? Does Kozue really want the adult world, or is partaking in it just something she does in her search of regaining the childhood she lost? Could Miki and Kozue possibly just be two different presentations of the same thing?

touga's story in adolescence of utena was a clear parallel to the story juri told to the student council members in episode 39 about a boy drowning from trying to save juri's sister who almost drowned in a river. but, i find these little parallels to be interesting too.

You were trying to get to an insanely hard to reach place, as per usual, because you swore you saw a Chest Over There, and it might Have Stuff In It.
Then suddenly, one misplaced foot and-
Slipping, falling down the rocky Cliffside and ancient ruins, bouncing off of rocks and narrowly avoiding being impaled by branches. Landing at the bottom, right at Astarion's feet (he refused to climb with you and elected to 'watch the show' instead)
As you gasp for breath, winded and stunned, blood dripping from a gash over your head, you hear him 'tut tut' and look up to see his amused, exasperated expression.
"I do tend to prefer your... /vintage/ straight from the source, or perhaps in a goblet if company requires discretion. But 'blood on the rocks,' now, that's a new one. Are you feeling shaken or stirred, darling?"
Despite his sass, the vampire kneels and hands you a healing potion. Which would be nice, except you recognize this particular bottle as one he must have pilfered from your pack earlier without you noticing.
"..... fuck you."
"You already did, if I recall correctly. Now drink up."

Okay but hear me out!
Dead On Main Revolutionary Ghost Utena AU:
Canonically, Jason focuses his rage to summon the All Blade
Ghost Prince Danny would have the Ring of Rage, but not the Crown of Fire yet
I hypothesize to you that the two are connected, and not only that, but that wearing the ring allows one to draw the All Blade out of the other. Like, literally.
Because of this, summoning the All Blade of their own accord is the mark of a ghost powerful enough to be the ghost king's betrothed, and whatever other ghosts were in the running are pushed back in line as the All Blade wielder is now at the front.
It is part of ancient ceremony that predates Pariah as Ghost King and dates all the way back to the first Royal of the infinite realms, King Lazarus.
The connection itself is no more than a pull towards each other, a fascination at most to make an easier base to build a genuine and in this case, human connection.
To become actually engaged Jason would have to willingly appear before the Ghost Prince and allow him to draw the All Blade out of him, something he is not very excited for and might actually have other lasting impact besides the engagement.
Y'see Jason isn't a halfa the way Danny is, he came back twice in a short amount of time between those two instances, and while the second time was Lazarus induced, no one really knows how he woke up in his grave and broke himself out. There are theories but Clockwork was watching and even he doesn't seem to know for sure, so it's really anyone's guess.
So what the engagement ceremony could do, potentially, is either solidify his halfa status by sheer amount of ectoplasm transfered by the act, or alternatively it could just kill him on the spot and then he'd probably become a full ghost.
Now, neither of these sound great to Jason, but he also doesn't like that a bunch of ghosts have been trying to fight him for their Prince's hand in marriage, something they can only do while the Prince is still not engaged to anyone.
Meanwhile, Danny doesn't appreciate that as soon as he came of age all these marriage proposals started being thrown at him, he's known some of these ghosts since he was a teenager so that's really weird for one, and he gets that most of them are just trying to secure their happiness and not to mention their future safety as the mortal world seems to be moving on with the anti ecto act, which had lead many a specter to retreat back to the realms, causing a lot of unrest as the realms become more crowded and politically tense between factions who have not needed to interact for a while now.
It would seem the Amity portal and even Danny fighting the ghosts and sending them back through it was the break many of the realms' denizens desperately needed, but now with that option no longer being safe, as even their king can't protect them from the GIW when they're gaining so much support from governments across the world, tensions are running high in the realms and it seems that it's every ghost for themselves.
Danny doesn't really resent any of the ghosts for doing what they feel they must to make sure they aren't destroyed in what is shaping out to be a realms wide war at this point, even as he works overtime with his council to prevent that from happening, and he understands they obviously don't expect any actual marital kind of relationship from him, which is at least a little reassuring even if the idea of being married to any of them is still very weird, but he can't help but think there could be a better solution here that he's missing.
And then he feels it, a pull telling him he's overlooked something, someone important.
It's like a fire engulfing his ice core but not burning it somehow, just as it does not cool the fire around it.
Two opposite forces meant to cancel each other out, somehow instead keeping perfect equilibrium with one another.
He talks to Frostbite and Clockwork and finds out what that pull is and takes their advice to follow it.
Jason doesn't realize he just altered the source of all his recent problems to his location as he draws the All Blade to fend off yet another "challenger to the Prince's hand" whatever the hell that means, as finally one of them was dumb enough to try to use actual magic against him.
However, he soon feels the answering pull back from Danny as the latter decides to use the power in his ring to open the portal, feeling that this candidate should at least know he's coming to talk to him.
It's almost the opposite, he feels the fire of the pit madness flaring a bit, but instead of immediately trying to spread, to threaten to consume him unless he tempers it himself, it is still burning just as strong and wild, but kept in one place by an icy chill, an aura of cold, clear fury and calm in equal measure, it doesn't thaw from the fire anymore than his fire dies from the lack of heat around it.
They sustain each other, impossibly.
So Jason and Danny finally meet and give each other the rundown of their side of things and agree that maybe the best bet to not only stop ghosts from attacking Jason and proposing to Danny, but perhaps the key to overthrowing the GIW so the realms' denizens don't have to afterlive in fear and portals can be reinstated to allow travel through the realms and back, not to mention keeping the GIW from going after Jason himself who by their definition is certainly considered an ecto entity, is in fact to go through with the Ring and Blade ceremony.
Jason, at this point, is more of Earth than Danny, who has unfortunately had to step back from his normal mortal life when he turned 18 to take care of realms business, despite still only being Prince.
He was meant to have more time but with the GIW advancing like they had been it was in the realms' best interest as well as his own that he decree the realms going no contact with humans for the foreseeable future.
It's been nearly 3 years since then and they are still getting ghosts back from parts of the world who have been avoiding humans as much as they can.
As soon as he turned 21 all this ghost marriage nonsense has has been making his job of protecting the ghosts in all the realms a lot more difficult, so when ghosts realized he didn't want to be challenged every day for his hand, they went to the next best thing, the top candidate.
Now, Phantom was saying that he's gonna marry the guy they've all been trying to defeat (and failing, to his credit, so at least he was worthy of being top pick)
A lot of them were upset or disappointed, but he explained how this arrangement could potentially help out everyone in the long run and most got on board when they heard the new plan.
Now the only problem is that getting engaged, as mentioned previously, is a ceremony that could prove dangerous to Jason and "not to be insensitive about it, but if you die and become a ghost that sorta defeats one of the main purposes of us even doing this." Danny points out.
"So what's our plan, Your Majesty?" "It's Royal Highness, I'm not king yet, thank the ancients for that." "Yeah yeah, so what are we doing, Your Royal Whinyness?" "Rude. Anyway, there's a chance you might become a full halfa during the process, that means getting a second form and a fully developed core and powers besides the All Blade, which would be better than you dying. So the best way to ensure that outcome, as much as any outcome can be guaranteed anyway, is to start the process of making you a halfa before the ceremony."
"Okay? How do we do that?" "Well, we gotta get some ecto in you - " "aren't you made of that? This better not be a pickup line" "no, not like that! I told you, this marriage doesn't have to be anything more than a contract, I'm about as thrilled about having to get married to save my people as you are about doing this to stop ghost from kicking your ass on a weekly basis." "Excuse me? I won all those fights!" "Yeah, after getting tossed into brick walls 5 times per ghost" "not every ghost tossed me into walls. Box Bitch did throw crates at me tho, that hurt." "Holyshit, Boxy is not messing around anymore huh? Well, makes sense, he's a father now. He doesn't wanna raise his little girl in these conditions. Still glad he lost, but I'm surprised Lunch Lady even agreed to him trying."
So they start Jason on his ecto diet and in the meantime the batfam is brought up to date about everything that's happening and they get to work, Batman gathers the JL to push back on the GIW's fuckery and all of Jason's siblings have an engagement party and a bachelor bash to plan. The girls decide to plan a Bachelorette party for Danny because he deserves to have a break as well.
Jason hates his stupid family, but Danny seems happy to be part of one again after so long, so he sucks it up and plays along.
It's possible that maybe while preparing and planning and helping each other and working together, Jason has gotten to know and developed a fondness for Danny.
Okay so maybe he's a sappy fuck who fell head over heels in love with him in the span of like a month, but this is still just a contract to Danny, and Jason isn't going to push for or expect anything more. Danny doesn't need that kind of stress in his life rn.
Danny has been freaking out since he met his soon to be husband because holyshit that's Red Hood, that is THE Red Hood! No wonder he passed the trial of the All Blade, and the way that fire burned around Danny's core, a fire he now recognized as the warmth answering from Jason's own, made him realize that this is way more than just a contract to him. Still, he'd been part of the realms for a lot longer than Jason ans he was their future king. Jason as part of this contract would be his equal but until the marriage was sealed, he was still technically Jason’s superior. And it didn't feel right to take adventage of that and suddenly change the terms of this deal, to make Jason in any way feel pressured by Danny's own feelings. No, this was just a contract, like Jason wanted it to be. He would keep that promise to him.
Jazz and Babs get together to help their idiot baby brothers figure out their unrequited love is actually very much mutual pining and they're just being stupid.
Anyway the marriage ceremony is a different ritual from the engagement ceremony, the All Blade wielder summons it and presents it to the wearer of the ring, who sheaths it back into the summoner's core, symbolizing that they both have power over the Blade but it belongs to its wielder, and even the king himself may not keep it without permission. The Blade as a manifestation of Jason's will.
(And as a bonus, we know Jason is a literary nerd so he recognizes and appreciates the romance novel tropes happening to him, especially in the high king's court, but he is not a weeb. So I don't think he'd recognize the Utena references happening to him. But you know who I think would? You know who is a weeb who loves swords and is soooo jealous of Todd and his husband right now? It's Damian. Damian's fucking seething that he doesn't get a magic sword. He's so pissed and it's very funny.)

Where do we go from here? Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Sevikaxfem!reader
Summary: Sevika finds herself being summoned to Piltover for a very serious proposal.
(This chapter is a lot of filling in the blanks around the end of S2)
It's also on my A03
A/N: Okay so... this is my first fic ever. My deep obsession with this older butch has possessed me into writing. So please give me some grace lol
I for sure have 5 chapters planned, all started just not fully fleshed out. If this gets received well, and I get the courage and don't cringe at my own writing I MIGHT try a smut chapter for 6. Idk for now.
So with that said, the OC I have set for this story is named Ivy. I will try to stick to she/her for the most part so anyone can fill it in with their character's name/ whatever. This first chapter is mostly a lot of filling in the gaps post S2. I also went down an Arcane/LoL rabbit hole trying to figure out the mapping of Zaun, if you haven't looked it up it's broken into 3 parts. The upper level closest to Piltover is called Promenade, the middle is Entrasol (where most of the show takes place), and the lower level is called the Sump.
There will be a brief sweet baby Isha mentioned ((I fully choose to believe that theory about one of the Noxian spears in the bg of the show was holding her helmet))
Tumblr media
The summons was brief, the timing suspicious after everything that’s happened, and as she entered council member Shoola’s office, the air felt full with an unspoken weight.
Walking into the spacious circular room flooded with light from tall windows, her footsteps echoed faintly on the tiled floor. At the heart of the space was a grand desk in which Councilor Shoola sat behind. Approaching, Sevika took one of the chairs facing her.
“Good afternoon Sevika, I do appreciate you coming all this way to meet with me. Oh, would you like any refreshments? I can have someone-”
“Let’s just get to why I’m here, thank you.”
“Straight to the point, I can respect that.”
As she turned to grab a thick folder off her desk she began to explain why Sevika’s presence was requested.
Apparently Shoola had been in contact with Caitlyn before her departure with Vi. The long drawn out conversation about this very moment finally coming to fruition. And from the sounds of things, it sounded like this was more so Vi’s proposal than Cait’s.
Days after the fighting had stopped, when the dust finally had some time to settle, she found herself finally having some time to think, to grieve, to unpack. The pill was hard to swallow but Vi had begun the process of breaking down the facts that she’d been pushing down and ignoring for years. She couldn’t help but finally recognize that Sevika had always stood for Zaun. Her initial falling out with Vander wasn’t quite truly a betrayal, she hadn’t realized just how badly those childhood feelings skewed her vision back then. Vi saw first hand just how strongly her father had prioritized his children, even if it mean pushing the fate of Zaun to the backburner. It took time but she was finally starting to understand the complexity and nuance of it all, nothing was ever really that black and white. And with this revelation she decided to talk to Caitlyn about proposing a council spot for Zaun.
It had to rebuild anyway, and there were only two living members of the original council left and one was off with the Noxian army. This is the perfect opportunity to try and start making a change. And Caitlyn couldn’t find it in her to disagree, whether she liked it or not she couldn’t help but think about just how firmly her late mother believed the people of Zaun had rights, and the right to be heard was more than overdue.
This led them to presenting this idea to Shoola, who surprisingly agreed. She’d explained to the pair that post-battle,  during the honoring ceremony held in Piltover, Sevika insisted on being the holder of the flame in representation of the people of Zaun, and it wasn’t a question. They’d been in contact only a few times briefly but she had to agree, each time they spoke Sevika always carried herself as if she was already in a position of leadership. She shared the risk and fought right alongside her people til the very end. Her commitment was commendable. And by the end of the visit a decision was made between the three.
Shoola was to request a meeting and present the council seat position to Sevika. After everything there wasn’t any reason to continue to act as if the people of Zaun, who came up and fought alongside their oppressors to keep their region from being usurped, deserved to get shoved back in the dark. Unheard and cast aside, no, that was seemingly over now.  And once Sevika was properly caught up on the matter Shoola proceeded to hand her over the weighty folder. She made sure to let her know that she doesn’t have to give an immediate answer, this proposal was a lot to take in. And with that Shoola gave her a line of contact that would reach her office for when she’d made up her mind and bid her adieu.
But Sevika had a hard time believing this was the only reason the position was created. She could see through the polite demeanor.  Yes of course it was about time for some real tangible progress to be made for Zaun, but she saw it in Shoola’s eyes, the idea of anything like this happening again had these topsiders shaken to their core.
Just because they were allowing Zaun to be heard now didn’t mean that wasn’t without a condition. This whole situation only proved to show they need to keep a better eye on Zaun. Make sure another Jinx or Victor never happens again. She knows they think Zaun could no longer be left unsupervised. The sugar-coated offer was almost insulting but she would be out of her mind to decline. So despite the heavy presence that loomed, Sevika left Shoola’s office with that thick folder filled with documents about the proposal, the position, and all that follows it.
Which lead her to now, in her quiet little shit box she called home, sprawled across a very worn in couch. The folder tossed on an end table. Her head had been throbbing nonstop since the battle ended, a dull, relentless ache that seemed to echo the exhaustion buried deep in her bones.
But even with this little glimmer of hope that was just barely peeking through in the form of this offer, she couldn’t find it in herself to feel even a flicker of joy. The mere act of closing her eyes only forced the memories back, ripping her from any potential feeling of peace.
…
She found out about Isha’s death the hard way. She had made her way down to the Sump level of Zaun after hearing about all the commotion that happened. There were so many spears embedded in the ground. And as she took in what was left of the carnage her eyes met a single Noxian spear, and sat upon it a concaved child’s mining helmet, adorned in faded colors and scribbles. And in that moment she felt like she couldn’t breathe, the wind knocked out of her from recognition.
Her legs collapsed under her, the weight of everything pressing her into the floor. For a moment, she didn’t move, didn’t even try. The world around her blurred, reduced to a quiet hum in the background...
She didn’t know how much time had passed til she finally came back into herself, and forced her body to move. She’s seen countless die in her years and although her hand’s weren’t clean, she was so tired of seeing death everywhere she went. But she had to keep going, slowly she pushed herself up and started walking. The grief of Isha followed by the new stress of not knowing where Jinx was shadowed her all throughout her treck back to Entrasol. But she knew she couldn’t just drop everything to look for her.
And before she could even give the idea any more thought she’d heard someone call out to her.
“There you are!” the sound of relief in Scar’s voice was hard to miss.
Turning to face him she gave a quiet nod of acknowledgment.
He jogs up to her catching his breathe, “You need to come with me. Ekko is missing.”
Shaking her head in disbelief, “What? What do you mean missing he’s your leader?”
“The ground team hasn’t seen him lately, everyone’s scheduled to meet in an hour to go over the plan but I haven’t heard back from him or any of the other sky riders.”
“I need you to come back with me to the hideout so we can adjust the plan accordingly”, he urged.
Of course everything was going to shit, the most crucial fight of their lives was about to happen and people are just vanishing.
“Lead the way” and so Scar guides her back down to the firelights hideout.
Finally making their way through the maze of a tunnel system they arrived. The welcoming sight of that magnificent tree greeted them. But as they walked forward that initial awe had been replaced by the shock of just how many citizens the firelights had managed to hide away here.
“Before he dipped he had everyone go out and gather any sick, elderly, kids, you name it." He looked at just how much the crowd had grown. “We’re beyond capacity but he said not to turn anyone away.”
As they spoke and navigated through the crowd one of the younger Firelight members ran up to them, a younger boy couldn’t have been older than 16 running around with one hell of a mop on his head.
“Scar we got word from the sky riders, they should be here shortly!”
“Any word about Ekko?”
“No, not yet. They just said they’d recap once they landed”
“How long ago was that call?”
“Just a few-” before he could even finish the unmistakable hum of hoverboards echoed through the higher tunnels. Scar threw his hand up to wave one down and immediately the owl masked vigilante made their way over to land.
“Please tell me you know where Ekko is.”
The was rider rushing to pull her mask and headgear off.
“He found Jinx! He got her to join in on the fight!”
The immediate relief of hearing that kid was still alive allowed her to finally release some of the tension she’d been unconsciously holding in her body.
“They’re planning something even bigger for the diversion! He said he’d reach out to us soon but everything is still set to go as planned. And you guy’s can start readying the ground team for the sneak attack. They’re not gonna know what hit em!” the enthusiasm beaming off of this kid was almost contagious.
“Thank Janna, finally some good news.” Scar exhaled.
She couldn’t help but be feel a little recharged at the positive turn of events. “You heard ‘em, start gathering all of the firelights. I’ll get the others in Entrasol” she commanded before taking off.
She found her body was compelled to move a little faster now, things were finally starting to come together, all of Zaun was on the same page for the first time. The smallest spec of hope began to bloom in her gut. And she couldn’t help but realize she hadn’t felt that in years.
….
….
She pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers, her eyes squeezing shut as if the simple gesture could stop the flood of memories working their way back up. She didn’t want to think about everything that happened after that…
But there she lay, her home remained too quiet, the kind of quiet that left no room to hide from her thoughts.
As she sat up she grabbed the folder and looked the folder over in her hand. The weight of the decision settled into her chest. This was it, there was no other option.

Something quite interesting that I haven’t really seen mentioned often, though I’m sure it has been mentioned, is the parallel between the Rose Bride and the sin-eaters of Britain (particularly Wales). A sin-eater was a person, almost always poor, who was paid a scant fee to take on the sins of the deceased at their funeral. They would eat bread and drink ale near or over (depending on time period) the corpse - symbolically ingesting the sins of the deceased - and, when the duty was done, driven out. Sin-eaters were ostracized for their role, only called upon to do their duty and be driven off again, believed to be carrying the sins of all who they performed this ritual for. Somewhat similarly, the Rose Bride takes the swords of hatred directed at the “dead” prince unto herself, taking the blame for the prince’s failures and being treated as an object and/or a monster by those around her. Despite this ostracization, both the sin-eater and the Rose Bride are called upon to do their ceremonies, only to be discarded or used afterwards.
The last known sin-eater, Richard Munslow, was celebrated over a century after his death in 1906 with the refurbishment of his gravestone, which took place in September of 2010. Despite this literal interpretation of the role of “sin-eater” having presumably died out with him, its spectre remains within society, with many people trapped in the role of the taker of blame within their relations, be they platonic, familial, romantic, or even so far as their community. The Rose Bride, and Anthy Himemiya in the role, is a more modern representation of a cycle of abuse that has gone on for time immemorial.
EDIT: Said “really” twice in a row and was annoyed by that fact

Utena fell to her knees and the rapier dropped from her hand, landing with a clatter on the ground. It wasn’t truly hers anyway.
“Isn’t that better?” the prince said, regarding her with the same sympathy as when he first found her all those years ago.
He held out his hand to Anthy. “It’s time for you to return to your rightful place.”
Utena made no sound of protest. Her eyes remained fixed on the ground.
“No.” It could hardly have come from the demure, obedient Rose Bride.
Anthy took the discarded sword and stepped between the prince and Utena.

[ID: Digital Revolutionary Girl Utena fanart of Utena pulling a sword from Anthy's chest. Anthy swoons backwards in her hold, skewered through by multiple other shadowy swords. The backround is dark blue, with a glow emanating from Anthy's chest. End ID]

Hello everyone, sorry for not posting. I've been busy with life in general and a big sorry to Eman and her family as well.
As always, I want to tell you about her, a Palestinian woman Gofundme that was made for her family. Their Gofundme is at 78% as of recently, which is great. However, I do know that it could be alot more. They need this money for their every day to day life, such as food, water, and necessities that can keep them going.
I know many people can not give $5 as it's too much to them however, what you can't do is visit their Gofundme and read their story and share it to as many people as possible, the more eyes on the it the better. It's especially important for people who do have to the money to donate so it you can, whether $5 or $10 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading, and I do hope you have a good day :)
