dustin, being freakishly emotionally intelligent, realizes that there is something between el and gareth before either of them do. he has his suspicions over the way they always end up sitting next to each other and how quickly they develop a rapport, but it's when he overhears them talking one night as he's grabbing his bike to head home that he realizes there's really something there. after that he notices every glance and every awkward brush of hands, every blush. at first he's like, gareth is not good enough for el!!!! but then he's never seen her happier. and then gareth gets hurt, and el is extremely emotional, and she and dustin have a heart to heart where he's basically like, yeah. you're in love with him. you're scared because you just found him and you might lose him. and el is like. oh. i love gareth. but there's the military to evade and vecna and the mindflayer to defeat, the world to save, and except for maybe one frantic kiss right before el goes off to fight (that takes gareth completely by surprise--dustin has to explain again) there is nothing. they win. hawkins is saved. we get the time jump epilogues. and then a montage that includes el and gareth having an adorable first date where they kiss again, sealing their endgame status.

I honestly feel like that for her, as busy as she is, tea breaks are a holy time. As her lover, you also have to be there, no matter what you were doing, so she'll sens her automatons to get you to her. Sandrone doesn't let anyone interrupt her tea break, unless there's an order from Pierro or the Tsaritsa herself. If anyone tries to, she'll not so gently throw them outside with help from her robots.

Now, about her liking sweets. You get carried to her lab, a few minutes after she made you two a tea and tells you: "You took too long. I've already finished my 3rd desert" (Like Lynette in Lyney's SQ). You look at table and she actually already ate 3 separate deserts and got herself a 4th one, not to mention that automaton who bought an entire cake here??-- You probably feel sick from a few slices, meanwhile Sandrone can eat all of this, without feeling even slightly unwell, then drink a lot of tea, say "How delightful" with a slight smile and go back to work as if it was nothing. Even to this day you wonder how she does that

Sandrone definitely has an unhealthy addiction to tea but no one would dare question her on it. Only you of course, but she always waves you off so you decided to give up. Somehow her body is fine with all the tea she inhales. Initially, Sandrone preferred to spend her tea parties alone or in the company of her Automatons, however, after falling in love with you, she requires you to be there as well. As much as she likes the silence of her tea breaks, she finds that idle chatter with you during them is also as enjoyable. She will also secretly love you more if you personally blend her tea or find new mixes for her.

Ahh it would be so funny and cute... you would be in the middle of actually doing something important but then a big Automaton picks you on and drops you on its large hand... too bad, Sandrone's request for your presence is far more important! She would look at you strangely at how you clocked out at only a few slices, but then shrug her shoulders since that's more sweets for her. Much of the tea party is spent looking at her indulgence while you awkwardly tell your stories. An Automaton may feed her too if she's feeling lazy.

(If she herself is a robot then that would explain her tolerance for so many tea and sweets...)

I'm glad you like my scenario!, Mmmm I like to think that the reader has genuinely gotten over suguru, The only reason they decided to fake dating Satoru was because when they returned suguru became too insistent with his attempts to win the reader back and Satoru suggested the idea, I don't think Satoru suggested it maliciously, they both simply wanted Suguru to move on (and have a little fun in the process)

As for why Satoru didn't ask the reader out from the beginning, I like to think that he was more concerned about the reader's feelings. Satoru knew that when they were young he couldn't give the reader the relationship they deserved because he was afraid of commitment and opening up emotionally. That's why he didn't try anything with them back then. After they and Suguru broke up, Satoru and Shoko were there for the reader. Satoru and they became very close that's why the reader also decided to accept Satoru's idea because he´s the person they trusts the most 😊

I mean, I'm sorry you don't like sharing fun facts about yourself, that sucks esp when "fun facts" are a pretty common thing when getting to know people in a group setting.

IMO, the point of a "fun fact" is to help people get to know you a bit and to share something memorable about yourself so you stand out when getting to know a bunch of ppl at once. Sharing something weird or impressive is a good way to accomplish that.

I'm also confused about your logic here. So you're not allowed to say something cool/an accomplishment (that's bragging), you're not allowed to talk about your family (your # of siblings is apparently uncomfortably personal), god forbid you say something weird, and you can't say something normal because that's, apparently, boring. What exactly IS an acceptable thing to say? Kind of sounds like there's no correct answer.

Honestly, if someone hears me share a fun fact in a group setting and ends up thinking I'm weird/full of myself: cool. we've immediately established that we don't vibe. we don't have to awkwardly discover that 10 minutes into a conversation that's going increasingly downhill. we know our personalities clash and we've saved ourselves time. you don't have to vibe with everyone.

Personally, I'm not sitting around analyzing everyone's fun facts. I'll probably forget them in 10 seconds unless they're particularly cool/strange/unexpected. The point is just to get people talking and give them a chance to make an initial impression in a room full of strangers. Unless you say something wildly inappropriate, the worst case scenario is that you're forgettable, or people don't immediately vibe with 0.001% of your life. Pretty low stakes.

I don't know if I've ever initiated fun facts in a group setting, and it's certainly not a hill I care about dying on, but I do think it's pretty wild that you hate them so much that you felt compelled to tell me that mine suck.
